🌿✨When the fairy brook crosses your path, you would do well to stay away. For a monstrous troll lives along its banks, and he’ll crush your bones like clay.✨🌿
Another sunrise... on the white dunes in Mui Ne in Vietnam . #travel #vietnam #mobile #iphone #photography #landscape #red #stream #fairy #water #colours #contrast #fairystream #river #explorer #photography #photographer #canon #canon5d #beard #bear #dunes #whitedunes #sand (at White Sand Dunes Mui Ne - Bàu Trắng) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtyUjY6AyEp/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=10jmbt8saics
The Fairy Stream is one of Mui Ne’s main attractions, alongside the Red and White Sand Dunes. The ankle-deep stream is flanked by lush greenery on one side and a sand dune on the other. Mui Ne is a little beach town in Southern Vietnam that was very tourist centered. Many of the tourist resorts were aimed towards Eastern European tourists, which I’d certainly seen before in my travels, but not as much as in Mui Ne.
The hostel was great, with two different pools to choose from, the beach was a short walk down the hill, and there were food places inside a short walk. Mui Ne itself has three main attractions:
the beach
the fairy stream
and the sand dunes
Also a fun tourist attraction in Mui Ne: bribing police officers! (not pictured).
Once you leave the main beachfront road on a scooter, it turns out that the Mui Ne police are famous for targeting tourists. Even those with international driver’s licenses report getting pulled over and shaken down for money under the pretense of fines. When they pulled us over, they were nearly hitting my friend Chloe with their club. When we did pull over, they insisted the fine was 500,000 VND. That seemed high, so we have a lovely, (not so) pleasant chat with them about what the “fine” really should be. We managed to get them down to 200,000 VND before they threatened to haul us into the station. That’s about $10, so we paid their “totally legitimate, not all all a bribe” fine, and went on our way. I’m calling it a neat life experience, and can now cross “bribed a police officer” off my bucket list.
