Had such a stupid idea/mental image.
Desmond reborn as worm. But wait, where does the worm show up? Eating his way out of the Apple of fuckin Eden like any worm would!
I just don’t even know what would happen next but I’m positive it’d be hilarious
Well… we can set this up to be the beginning of this Desmond as a Huge Ass Worm idea from before?
That way, the twist would be that the worm could actually turn into a huge worm.
Honestly, this ask just makes me remember the whole “would you still love me even if I was a worm?” XD
For this one, I think it would be funny if Desmond is found eating the Apple by Al Mualim and Malik while the Templars were storming Masyaf. They, of course, didn’t expect Desmond to have eaten it. They thought he had simply wiggled his way into the case because there was a small opening that a worm his ‘size’ could fit into.
That was fine with Desmond, he wiggles his way to where he saw the gold in this strange worm vision he now has.
(It took hours though because… well… worms aren’t known to be fast in the first place anyway)
When he gets there, his guess was right and the gold was Altaïr, sleeping in what counts as the ‘hospital’ in the fortress.
Without the Apple to create illusions for Altaïr, Desmond supposed he had been punished… the ‘usual way’.
He stays near Altaïr’s head and curls around himself.
And has no idea what to do when Altaïr wakes up.
(His worries are for naught because Altaïr wakes up and sees him as gold. He has no idea why but he keeps him anyway… he learns later on why when he’s being pursued by crusaders while traveling)
With Ezio, I like the idea that they found him asleep after eating half of the Apple that was being transported to Venice. Mario thinks the Apple is broken (it is) and Leonardo finds the worm fascinating. Ezio touches him once and Desmond realize that, by eating the Apple, he got the Apple’s ability XD
With Ratonhnhaké:ton, George Washington opens the box where the Apple should be and finds the remains of an Apple (which he didn’t recognize because why would he?) and a worm. Thinking that the worm just got inside the box and whatever was originally in the box wasn’t there anymore or had been destroyed, he gave the box to one of his men to categorize it as another ‘confiscated item’. From there, the story revolves around Desmond’s adventure to finally get to the homestead XD

In the end, it all comes down to him. To Desmond. Through the Animus he discovered his heritage. Explored the lives of his ancestors, and uncovered their secrets. When that was done, he trained. He used another ancestor to provide decades of experience in the span of a few days. It worked. We think. We hope. Soon, though - soon we’ll know. That ominous date fast approaches. December 21st, 2012. None of us knows what it’ll bring - only that this is where they want us to be when it does. They’ve been guiding us, in their own fractured, frustrating way. These voices from The First Civilization. The Ones Who Came Before. A precursor race of immense power and uncertain motives. They’re the ones who made the Pieces of Eden. This is where they’ve led him. And through him, us. He stands at the entrance to this long-lost place, armed with the knowledge of Altaïr and the abilities of Ezio. He holds in his hand the Apple of Eden. And we stand at his side, ready to support him however we can. His name is Desmond Miles and he has brought us to the end.

this been in my doc for a while decided to just put it here, Its a bit edgy lol and tbh Im just not that into this kind of dynamic to build upon it. I don't even know what I did w Desmond in my head the apple kinda put him in this restart/reboot stage where it will take a while for him to come back (if he ever does). also didn't rlly re-read or edit this so probably there are some typos :D enjoyyy I wont ever finish it
----------------------------------
“You cannot keep him here Ezio!”
“And where else? Don't suggest jail because I already told you he is of no danger to us!”
A Hand slammed on the table “How would you know! He has only been here for a week, It is not hard to keep up an act of mental handicap that long!”
“Machiavelli! Are you crazy-”
The door muffling the conversation slammed open with a boom of voices “Crazy?! The only crazy ones here is him and YOU for not getting rid of him, Ezio!”
The shouting figure pointed at him.
Desmond blinked slowly from where he was sitting.
“I know you are not as dumb as you talk to be Ezio , so please! This screams enemy spy all over the situation, please don't let the whole brotherhood be compromised for… him?”
Ezio sighed, he of course knew Machiavelli was right to be worried but he just did not understand it. He looked at Desmond's silent sitting form, as doll-like as ever. Barely blinking.
“I… listen if anything… anything happens it's on me okay Machiavelli?”
The other scoffed as he turned his back to exit “as if at any point of this I had a crumb of fault in on it, of course it's on you. Always is. Will bring the collapse of this branch just as you built it!”
He stopped at the open door.
“When this goes all down, and you and I know both that it will, I will not help you clean it.”
Ezio smiled after him “You are the best…”
His reply was a slammed shut door.
“I swear he is nicer once he gets to know you” He turned to Desmond who stood exactly as he was left a moment ago. Ezio’s smile stood on his face.
“And he will come around… he just doesn’t get it but how can he?”
Walking next to him, his hand squeezed Desmond's knee.
“He doesn’t have what we share does he?”
His free hand clasped at the back of his neck and they stood there a bit with their foreheads touching as Ezio inhaled deeply.
“Let's get you ready for sleep”
He straightened up and pulled Desmond softly with him. He knew he could but Ezio was kind of glad he didn't need to carry him everywhere.
Desmond followed him silently as he was led through the hideouts halls and through the open door. Stopping only once the figure in the front did.
“There we are… was a busy day huh”
Ezio turned toward him, tugging at his hand delicately as he led him to sit down on the bed.
It was silent as Desmond got readied. Ezio took his time as he went over their now nighttime routine.
His shirt and pants were peeled off of his skin, bearing the gold markings that covered his body onto night air. The origin points of the strange lines decorating his tan skin started from Desmond's left hand.
Ezio's finger gave a butterfly touch to one on his neck then pulled over a nightshirt to cover the man's whole form.
Next, his face was cleaned as Ezio wiped it with a damp warm cloth slowly, as if cleaning a beloved hand painted figurine. His fingers raked through his short curls giving them a brush they did not really need.
Few more extra steps and Ezio stepped back with a satisfied gaze. “My, now you look ready”
He lifted the blanket and patted for Desmond to get in “Time for sleep”
Desmond followed, laying down on the bed on his back, letting Ezio drape and tuck the blanket over him. Ezio hummed happily.
“Good night Desmond, go to sleep now”
Desmond's blank eyes stared back at him for a few more moments, his brown eyes gave a short low hum of golden glow before his eyelids closed over them.
Ezio squatted down near the bed and looked at Desmonds sleeping form for few minutes, listening to the mans almost dead silent breaths.
Satisfied, Ezio grunted in a job well done and stretched his back as he got up. Walking upto the couch facing the bed he plopped down face first onto it. Arranging himself to better see Desmond he got comfortable. It didnt take long for him to fall asleep with all the watching rather than keeping watch he did.

What's your current favorite game, who's your current favorite character and do you have a favorite song/soundtrack?
Also which character do you love to hate?
Also also please feel free to use this ask to simply info dump about any headcanons or ideas or anything really!
Well I'm answering asks now so
hello old asks I've forgotten to answer
I'm gonna assume these are ac related
Current fav game : Assassin's Creed 3
Current fav character(s) : Connor, Shay, Malik, Desmondddd
Fav soundtrack : Assassin's Creed Revelations and 3
Character I love to hate : Probably Charles Lee but also FUCK William Miles he's a DICKHEAD
-Some random headcanons-
Shaun hates tea, he hates it. Coffee for him all the way‼️
Altaïr has frequent nightmares about the visions from the apple and Al Mualim bullshit and Malik is always there to calm him and hold him until he falls asleep again
Malik has similar nightmares but always about Kadar and Altaïr being there is scary because he still has that anger, but he's a new man and throws himself into Altaïr's arms, thanking him :(
Achilles is Connor's adoptive father. No buts.
Edward told grand stories of his adventures to Haytham and always mentioned his friends to keep the memory of them alive
Shaytham. That's the headcanon
Shaytham specifically because Haytham and Shay are both big losers who lost everything and connect in that way when Haytham actually opened up to Shay. (That def took a long time btw)
Malik has very soft hands, Altaïr's are calloused and rough as shit(the opposites attract HHegwgagagg)
Ezio tries to learn how to paint with Leonardo, but he prefers the building and architect lessons more
Ezio and Machiavelli totally had a thing
Shaun is a night owl and Desmond sleeps in like hell
That's all I have in me rn 😔 thank you asker

anyways this is tumblr and I actually do live in the wild west of America. I WILL talk about my protocreed au
So, to start off, Alex sees Desmond and Elijah while he's grabbing something at the university of New York in Manhattan, and actually catches a glimpse of Desmond eating a glass plate and a metal cup. He's so fucking confused and fascinated that he starts stalking him out of a scientific desire to study him.
Why is Desmond eating glass and metal you may ask? He is a piece of eden and his body needs nutrients in order to sustain itself. More specifically, he's three apples. Altaïr's apple was his 'body' which is why he looks so much like him, Ezio's apple was the 'voice' that allows him to properly speak to people through time, Connor and Aveline had the 'brain' apple which allows them to directly configure and control his abilities and memory.
Yes, Aveline and Connor get married in this AU. It should've happened in canon, and just bc ubi decided to drop their storyline, it doesn't mean I have to.
So, back on track, Elijah and Desmond are traveling together bc Desmond was absolutely ecstatic to learn he was having a child, and they decided to go to Manhattan after the 'Daniel incident' in Vermont. Alex manages to track Desmond down after two months working at Bad Weather and decides to just. Watch him.
And also get into a shit ton of bar fights, bc you can't tell me that Alex wasn't using his fighting moves in game before everything happened, you can't.
Most of the other employees that work at Bad Weather don't want to deal with Alex because, as previously stated he gets into a lot a bar fights and actually manages to win them, and Desmond is a good enough fighter that he can handle him. The interesting part is that Alex never tries to involve Desmond in his fights but he does let him pull him off people without attacking, like he would attack other bartenders, so they just let Desmond handle him.
Desmond is...conflicted on Alex bc on one hand, the man is stalking him and is persistent about it too, but also doesn't run away screaming when he realizes that Alex has seen him eating food that shouldn't be consumable by humans and will break a bunch of shit so people don't realize why so many dishes go missing in a week. But on the other hand, Alex is quite open about wanting to pin him to a lab table and seeing what makes him tick, which is fucking creepy. But he also??? Fights off any Abstergo agents when they're watching him in the bar (and later on he discreetly kills them) so its a really fucking mixed bag for Desmond.
This is kinda long. I'll stop here, but like I wanted there to be a reason Alex is so interested in Desmond before and after his death and rebirth, and I kinda wanted to lean into the fact that Dr. Mercer was absolutely a freak.

When you add tags like “OR both Ezio and Altaїr being brought back by Desmond (accidentally) during Solar FlareExcept something went... Wrong” in that post I immediately think “yandere time? Yandere time???” (I might have been reading yandere isekai manwhas lately) What if when Desmond activated the device, it needed a way to disperse all the power it received from the Solar Flare, otherwise it would burn Desmond up. (1/?)
So instead, it used the power to make Desmond’s foremost thought a reality. However, Desmond wasn’t thinking of anything ‘nice’. He was in a lot of pain and he just… He remembered the pain and anger of knowing that everything that he has done, his entire life… He had been dancing to the tune of someone else. The Assassins…The Templars… Even those years he spent on the run, being a simple bartender… He had simply been dancing the tune that the Isus had been playing the entire time. (2/?) He wanted someone… anyone… He just wanted to be someone’s priority, for once. For once, he wanted someone who would be by his side, to accept him for who he is and to… Just… make everything stop. And that’s what the device latched into. The cries of a man in pain, wishing for freedom he believed he never had in the first place. Although, it was too abstract so the device made a few tweaks of its own to make it ‘feasible’. (3 of 4) It created two representatives of Desmond’s wish, formed from the two men Desmond had achieved a Synch Nexus with. They were copies with a similar personality to the originals, with the memories that Desmond had thanks to the Bleeding Effect. But they were created with a ‘condition’. They were created to do whatever was necessary to protect Desmond and to grant his every desire and wish.… In whatever way they can. (4/4)
You made me get out my eerie music playlist for writing
See when the Temple went in for the one option it had to disperse the energy, it went at it hard. Creating a body and uploading the memories that Desmond has personally observed was not enough. It would get rid of part of the buildup, true, but not nearly enough to guarantee it’s Admin user (…yeah let’s pretend Isu also used something like that) will survive
Nor could it guarantee the memories would be enough to make the simulacrums function independently
So instead – with the shield the Temple was generating, it looked for everything. It scoured all that could be pulled from the genetic memories Desmond carried. It scoured everything that was left behind from Juno. It scoured all the remnant information that was available to any of the pieces of Eden. And then it used those to create the “interface” for the “protectors”
Altaїr’s replica wasn’t just Altaїr left behind in his descendant’s genome. He was also the memory of every contemporary Templar that handed a piece of Eden. He was the memory of every person who still had traceable lineage that interacted with him. He was every shred of Minerva’s calculation that referred to him
It was the same for Ezio. The only difference being – Ezio had much more “source” material to go with, given that (and let’s go with fanon here) he had many more direct descendants
A lot of people whose recollections went into recreating them didn’t have the same rose-ish tinted glasses Desmond did. They were just this side of sharper, just this side of terrified
Collecting all that data… Was enough to burn off what the Temple was not going to use to reconstruct the bodies
Desmond still suffered through it. Some of him still burned – but not in the way heat charred flesh and destroyed nerves. It was the burn of circuitry, much like that of Isu, etching itself into his body. After all, the Temple had to go by the “parameters” that were “set by the Admin”
When both Altaїкand Ezio came to – Desmond was the brightest, most golden thing either of them had ever seen
This alone was enough to snap them into gathering him, and the Apple, first – there was no time to question each other, not when they had to *act* first
Random thoughts:
They do not leave the Temple. Well, not at once – and Altaїr, being the most familiar and thus most “attached” to Isu tech – makes good use of being able to access the system
Both, at some point before Desmond wakes up, find out they are not the originals and there is a bout of freaking out. Surprisingly, it’s Ezio who deals with it first – for the sheer force of habit. It wasn’t the first time he was yanked around by the “gods”
Sharing body heat is going to be a thing. We ARE talking about meters upon meters of stone. It doesn’t keep heat well
Ezio is also the one who spend more time holding vigil over Desmond. At least since the moment Altaїr managed to divine Desmond’s name from the system
Abstergo still tried to get inside the Temple. They don’t have a good time out of it – not against two Master Assassins who are much more familiar with direct combat. That one of them is semi-familiar with firearms and the other has control over the building they are in becomes stuff of nightmares
At some point, Abstergo deems recovering anything from Temple a lost cause
At least one instance of Desmond thinking he is dead when he wakes up, and speaking accordingly. Ezio freaks out. Which causes Desmond to freak out. Altaїr is the one who ends up having to talk them into calming down

I’m thinking something like that fic ‘The Double Edged Sword’ by AuRon_Scaleless where Ezio and Altaïr are being manipulated by the apple of Masyaf to hate Desmond.
Difference is, the apple of Rome is also there because Ezio brought it with him by mistake so now it sits with Malik for safe keeping. The Masyaf one sits with Altaïr because the man studies it.
Anyway! The two are mistreating Desmond and he’s slowly falling apart with the mixture of bleeding effects and the after math of using the eye to save the world. With the added words and jabs at his apparent ‘betrayal’ it just deteriorated him more.
Malik is just as distrustful of the young man as anyone but at the same time he can feel that there is something more going on here. He just can’t figure out what.
This is until the Rome Apple decides to show him just what Desmond had gone through before popping up here. He sees the farm, the way he grew up, the borderline abuse disguised as training, the years of running and constantly looking over the shoulder, the eventual capture.
He sees Desmond fighting tooth and nail against the modern templars and he sees them drug him, forcing him into the animus to do their bidding. Then there’s the assassins doing pretty much the exact same things to him, his time in the machine growing longer and more frequent as his symptoms get worse and worse and worse.
And when Malik thinks it’s finally all over, that this used and abused young man can finally get a break from everything the ones who promised him a painless death and swift passing on do the exact opposite.
Malik can feel the wisps of pain that Desmond experiences and even that is almost too much for him. He sits there and watches Desmond scream and writhe for what felt like hours but must have been mere seconds.
Then Desmond is transported here, a few months after his second ancestor mind you, only to receive treatment just as bad as his original life.
Malik is practically thrown out of the memories, breathing turned ragged and tears that he didn’t event notice before streaming down his face. The apple in his hand pulses gently, as if it is saddened by the memories he had just witnessed, imploring him to do something to save the young man.
Before he can even move there is a hesitant knock on his door, a familiar head of brown accompanied by a face that is much too gaunt popping through the doorway with a hesitant smile. Despite everything the man still tries to smile at everyone and gain their trust, a feat he has not quite achieved with everyone sadly.
Desmond opens his mouth to speak, Malik hasn’t a clue as to what he’s about to say because he’s already up and across the room. He pulls the young man into a firm yet gentle hug, mindful of his still tender arm and trying to convey every single jumbled emotion he feels in that moment. God, Malik’s sure he has never despised missing an arm more than in this moment.
“I’m so sorry Desmond… you didn’t deserve… any of this. But you worked so hard for the brotherhood, for us and I am so proud of you.” There’s a moment where the young assassin doesn’t move, frozen in his arms before his chest suddenly hitches, body collapsing against Malik’s own as he lets out a quiet, bitten back sob.
The sound just makes the pain radiating through the Dai even worse. God the man couldn’t even cry freely without fear of something happening to him. He ignores the thoughts though, bringing Desmond to the pile of cushions he has set up in the corner of his office for those late nights he can’t quite make it back to his sleeping quarters.
They collapse into the mound together, Desmond burying his head deep into Malik’s chest and clutching his robes as he shudders and silently cries against him. The Dai can feel the young man’s mouth opening against his chest, as if he wanted to scream and sob aloud, but no sound escapes. Just ragged breaths and quiet sniffles.
They lay there for several long minutes, Malik keeping his arm looped around Desmond and running the tips of those fingers up and down what little of his spine he can reach. The young assassin doesn’t seem to mind though, relishes in it even as he slowly begins to calm down.
Before either of them realise it Desmond’s fast asleep, face looking peaceful and form more relaxed than Malik’s ever seen. He can’t help but plant a tender kiss on the younger’s forehead, breathing him deep as he tries to think on what to do next.
Apparently today is a day for interrupting him since there is another knock on the door, the noise loud and startling in the now quiet room. Desmond doesn’t even flinch at it though, an apparent testament to how exhausted he is.
Before Malik can get up the person enters, pleasant greeting on his tongue dying before it fades into an annoyed and angry scowl at the sight that greets him.
The Dai feels his own annoyance and anger rise at the sight of it, all those previous moments over the last few weeks suddenly springing to the forefront of his mind. Malik growls lowly at his longtime friend, glaring at him in a way that he knows the other is somewhat scared of, though the man would never admit to it.
“Get out Altaïr. I will speak with you later.” The mentor isn’t as easily cowled apparently, already opening his mouth again before stopping when Malik suddenly shoots to his feet. He had been extracting his arm and Altaïr hadn’t even noticed until now.
“I said leave novice. Do not make me say it again or I will make sure you regret it.” The mentor looks down at the still sleeping form of Desmond with one last glare before turning on his heel, walking out of the room and slamming the door behind him.
Malik huffs out an annoyed breath at his antics, turning around only to be met with wide and frightened eyes, scanning over everything as if looking for an escape route.
Also I suddenly thought of this. Desmond goes to the poor districts to help treat the sickly people (he has first aid knowledge because of his need for survival while he was on the run. Nothing like surgery but basic shit like how to prevent an outbreak and set a bone sort of stuff) and as a result the people there love him. It’s the only place he can feel like he’s doing something right and feel as if he belongs.
Nobody else knows of this for obvious reasons. They’d either spread the rumours there and make everyone hate him or they’d do something equally as bad. But that’s where he escapes to when things get to be too much for him in the bureau.
He’s not allowed to leave either because they have to ‘make sure he isn’t a threat to the people’ even though they don’t spare him a single thought the second he goes missing.
Malik follows him one day and when he sees just what the man does in order to help people he can’t help but feel even more anger toward Altaïr and Ezio. How could they treat a man so broken and pure like that? How could they hate him so when he smiles that reassuringly toward a child who has merely scraped his knee? It makes no sense.

。・:*˚:✧。 altaïr ibn-la'ahad
♡ drawing
♡ based off all the designs and illustrations in the codex pages, I'd say that Altaïr already knew how to draw really well even before studying the apple. He would keep a pocket-sized sketchpad and some charcoal maybe and it would just be a free time activity of his
。・:*˚:✧。 ezio auditore
♡ music
♡ in Revelations, Ezio mentions having learned a few chords on the lute but I think he's underplayed it. I can picture young Ezio as having to learn certain courtly hobbies, being a nobleman, and music was one of them. The lute is portable and so it could double up as a tool for him to bring to a lady's window where he would try and woo her with a song. Once his family was killed, he had little time for music and so he can only remember a few basic chords by the time he uses the lute in the mission in Revelations.
。・:*˚:✧。 edward kenway
♡ singing
♡ Edward has never really had time for anything artistic. He grew up on a farm, frequented the local pub, became a privateer and went on to become a pirate. He's always been too preoccupied for art. However, it comes to light that he has quite the amazing singing voice by the time he's joining in to the sea shanties once he becomes a privateer.

♡ wood carving
♡ Connor likes to make little wooden statuettes as gifts for his loved ones. He'll find a decent piece of wood and start whittling away at it until he's handing you a beautiful swan or wolf figure. It's always been a little hobby of his because it's so convenient as long as he has his knife on him.
。・:*˚:✧。 arno dorian
♡ dancing
♡ Arno might be into poetry and prose now but he wasn't during his childhood - that was always Élise's thing - so he's still catching up in that area, despite what others may thing at first glance. Arno was always being bested by Élise in fencing as they were growing up too so, being a young boy and irritated that his step-sister was besting him at everything, he went out to find something that he could one-up her in. He came to find that while Élise loathed dance (namely because she was terrible at it), he has a good sense of rhythm and not only was he good at dancing but he enjoyed it greatly.

Ezio Auditore x gn reader
Reunited with a ghost
This takes place after Ezio has been helping the thieves guild for a year but before the apple is brought to Venezia. Completely sfw
1k words
It had been 6 years since the Auditore family was executed. 5 years since my heart died when I heard the last members of the family had been found and killed. 4 years since I learned to kill and I've trained every day since. Driven by revenge for the love I had lost.
And it's been 3 days since I saw a ghost.
A handsome face will attract any gaze even if it's hidden under a hood. However the scar on his lip was not hidden. I remember the fight that caused it, I was there by his side helping fight off de Pazzi's goons. It may have only been a glance but I know what I saw, who I saw. It took only a moment for him to get lost in the crowd.
I had come to Venezia to find a thieves guild notorious for their daring escapes and feats of movement. I came to learn and better myself. I haven't even been in the city a week before I went chasing a ghost instead of my goal. Days went on and I was no closer to finding my ghost. I needed to get back on mission and find the guild. Ezio was dead and even after all these years my grief still taunts me.
Finally I refocus and get myself back on task. At least now it didn't take me long to find who I was looking for.
Two people skillfully climb the side of a building. I see where they are heading and move to cut them off. After a rough introduction I was able to convince them to teach me some of their skills, but first I need to prove my worth. A few missions to prove myself and they agree to share their secrets. Steal some documents, distract some guards, and now to deliver a letter from one end of the city to the other.
I catch a glimpse of a white hood out of the corner of my eye and don't even hesitate to abandon my mission. I move along the roofs and make my way down to the streets. All the while making sure never to lose sight of that swift hooded figure. Down one street, then another, across a bridge, and into an alley I follow. Steadily getting closer. When I turn the corner I'm suddenly slammed into the wall. My head is spinning and the edge of my vision fades to black.
"Why do you follow me. Who sent you." The questions sounding more like harsh demands. It would have been easier to answer if the wind hadn't been knocked out of me, or if I wasn't face to face with a dead man.
A shaky hand reaches for the scar on his lip, stopping as I feel a blade press against my throat. ”The dead have no use for a blade." I can feel a stinging in my eyes as my vision blurs, but I dare not blink lest the man in front of me disappears again. "Ezio, it's you isn't it?" My voice is small as I try to keep myself together.
His hood hides reaction but I feel the blade pull away. The force holding me against the wall fades into a steady grasp of my shoulder.
"Y/n…?" His voice was much softer now. A familiar cadence completely different from the one that attacked me moments ago. "You look… you've changed."
It's true. I am much leaner and stronger than I was 6 years ago when he last saw me. The tears fall from my eyes and I can finally see his face clearly. Soft brown hair, bright intense eyes that take in every detail, and eyebrows knit into a concerned expression. Just how I remember him.
"I am so sorry bello, are you hurt?" His hands lightly pat me down as he gives me a once over. I can't help but let out a small laugh as he fusses over me.
"I'm better than I have been in years fantasma." I gently cup his face in my hands as he leans into my touch. "I did not think I would get to see you again in this life…but you're here now and that's all that matters."
He casts his eyes down and away from me. A look of guilt clear as day on his face. He takes my hands in his and takes them from his cheeks to hold in front of him. Before I can ask what's wrong he speaks up. "It Is too dangerous to be around me… there is a villa south of here where you can go-"
"You are a fool if you think I'm going to lose you again." I take my hands from his grasp and cross my arms. A look of stubborn conviction on my face. He opens his mouth to protest before I cut him off. "Ezio there is nothing you can say that can convince me that by your side isn't where I'm meant to be."
His expression softens but a look of confliction still lingers. I put my hand on his shoulder to prompt him to speak his mind. "I have done many things I am not proud of. I have hurt many people and foul luck follows me. I have already lost so many I care for, the last thing I want is for you to be hurt because of me." I can hear the sadness in his voice. Like a requiem for the dead and for me.
"Mi voglia nothing can hurt me more than thinking you were dead." My words are sincere and I can see he is losing the argument he is mentally having with himself. "Ezio?"
Suddenly he wraps his arms tightly around me and holds me close. I freeze for a moment before returning the embrace and burying my head in his hood. I don't know how long we stood there but I didn't care. Even if this was a dream I just wanted this moment to last a little longer. Eventually he pulled away but only far enough to look me in the eyes.
"What brought you to this city?" His tone was back to the suave devil I know and love.
"Avenging your death." I say bluntly but a smile slips into my lips.
"...oh" I almost laughed when he scrambled for a response.
"It was well worth the trip."

Terrible Fic Idea #85: The Old Guard, but make it Assassin's Creed
My brother has always been a big fan of Assassin's Creed, but I never gave the games a shot until recently, when it seemed a natural progression from all the Crusades research I've been doing for The Old Guard fic I want to write but probably never will. Once I realized Isu bullshit could be a perfect explanation for TOG immortality, this (incredibly self-indulgent) crossover was born.
Or: What if Merrick Pharmaceuticals was a competitor of Abstergo Industries?
Just imagine it:
Pharmaceutical research is an expensive, cut-throat business. Viagra is a $2 billion dollar a year industry. Humira, the blockbuster drug of 2018, sold nearly $20 billion in the US alone. So I imagine if you're a pharmaceutical CEO of limited morals and great ambition, it might seem like a better idea to steal ideas from your competitor who seems to hit it out of the ballpark every time instead of pouring billions of dollars into what may turn out to be an unfruitful venture.
Enter Hugh Merrick, father of Steve Merrick and founder of Merrick Pharmaceuticals. Needing a blockbuster and desperate to get one over on Abstergo, he hires a hacker to slip into Abstergo's servers and find him the ripest, juiciest plum they can sometime in the early 2000s, before the (modern) events of the games or the 2019 TOG movie.
The hacker comes back with the schematics for the Animus.
The idea of genetic memories seems absurd, but Hugh figures that if Abstergo has been using the Animus since the 1980s to get ahead, there's no reason he can't do it too - all he needs is a single Piece of Eden and all his problems are solved.
Hugh builds the Animus and has the hacker go back into Abstergo's systems looking for a candidate to put into it. But finding someone with Assassin blood seems dangerous - they're likely to be an assassin too and could be dangerous if they try to escape, plus the Templars killed off nearly all of them. Templar descendants are out because most are Templars themselves and if Hugh's plan is to succeed he heeds to stay off their radar for as long as possible.
The hacker returns with Abstergo's list of people who may be useful if all other avenues fail. It contains a list of people who were peripherally involved during the invents that interest them - mainly high-ranking courtiers close to Popes Alexander VI and Julius II - and their descendants. They might know things about events of Ezio's time.
Enter Joe and Nicky.
For the past few hundred years, their primary cover identities involve being the children or grandchildren of their previous cover story, all the way back to their first deaths. There are fewer questions and you get to "inherit" all your old stuff.
This method has worked quite well for them - until Merrick learns that their "ancestors" were part of the court of Pope Julius II from 1497 (when he was still Bishop of Ostia) until his death in 1513. Nicky was his private secretary, Joe was a court painter, and contemporary sources suggest they were highly placed enough to know whatever Pope Julius II knew about Ezio's apple. Such as where Ezio might have hidden it.
It's not an unreasonable plan, except for the pesky fact of Joe and Nicky's immortality. After all, the animus is designed to draw on genetic memory, not the subject's own memories. And even if it can be used to view memories laid down in their own genes 500 years ago - which is doubtful, - there's a high likelihood of it killing them - and if Hugh were to learn of their immortality, things would only get worse for them. But they have little choice once they're captured and brought to Hugh's secret research bunker somewhere north of Inverness.
What follows is a largely self-indulgent stroll through the more interesting episodes of Joe and Nicky's life together.
Nicky's first go in the animus is a jumbled, confused mess as Hugh's tech minion learns the ropes as she goes. Nicky ends up hopscotching through his early memories - for instance, a memory where he's learning how to use a sword as a young squire jumps to him using the same move during the Siege of Jerusalem. That strand of memory continues on for a bit until another interaction gets him sent into the memory of another battle/training session/conversation with the person in question and so on.
Joe's first time in the animus goes a little better, as Hugh realizes that his minion needs to learn how to program the animus before they put their most valuable subject into it, and so let's her learn with Joe. Hugh's minion (who is really beginning to regret taking this job) succeeds, pulling Joe into the genetic memory of one of his ancestors: al-Kahina, an Amazigh religious and military leader who led indigenous resistance to the Muslim conquest of the Maghreb. There should be suggestions of a Sword of Eden somewhere in events, but since they don't share Precursor knowledge, Hugh's not interested in letting the memory play out.
Nicky's second session gets them to the time period they want, but his memories have next to nothing to do with the PoE. The same holds true for Joe, when his second session puts him through his POV of that time period. And though Hugh has his minion take them up and down every memory of that time period searching for the smallest hint of anything that might point them in the right direction, there's nothing to find.
Or, rather: Nicky and Joe did meet Ezio once or twice, in waiting rooms or reception areas or the like, but they spent that time talking about art, or the weather, or philosophy - nothing about politics, or Ezio's travels, or PoEs at all.
Otherwise, most of Nicky and Joe's memories of early 16th century Rome involve Joe's rivalry with Michelangelo, who among other things persisted in flirting with Nicky even after he made it clear he wasn't interested. (Joe was, among other things, responsible for getting Michelangelo the commission for David in Florence to get him out of Rome and away from Nicky.)
There's some Vatican politics as well - Nicky's part in organizing the Swiss Guard, Joe's in organizing the Vatican Museums, and the removal of the Borgias from power - and some global politics - the 1503 dispensation for Henry VIII's marriage to Catherine of Aragon, etc. But most of their memories are largely Joe and Nicky being Joe and Nicky in the High Renaissance (and rather hating their jobs, as neither of them particularly like working for Julius II but were blackmailed into it to avoid being labeled as Ottoman spies.)
This goes on for several days until Hugh orders his minion to start looking for the memories of other "ancestors" - essentially, to refine the animus and her technique while he gets his hacker to find better candidates for the animus. And if this accidentally destroys Joe and Nicky's minds in the process? So be it. The plan was always to kill them at the end of their usefulness anyway.
Hugh's minion spends a day doing as asked - there's a few tantalizing glimpses of Joe and Nicky at the court of Kublai Khan in the 1270s - before she has an opportunity to act on the guilty conscious that's come to plague her.
The minion helps them escape - destroying the animus, wiping the records, and blowing the place sky high to cover the bloody swath they have to cut to get out of the secret research bunker. Amongst the casualties is Hugh Merrick, propelling his son Steve into position as youngest CEO in Pharma.
Joe and Nicky rejoin Andy and Booker - who'd been doing their best to cut their own bloody swath through anyone tangentially related to the mercenaries who kidnapped their brothers - and decide to turn their attention to tracking down PoE and destroying animus technology wherever it can be found, believing there are no peaceful uses for either. As a glad you escaped present, Booker tanks Merrick Pharmaceutical's stocks so badly the company never recovers, eventually going bankrupt.
As for the minion? Maybe she's a young Rebecca Crane prior to her recruitment by the Assassins and it’s her experiences with Hugh's animus that get her recruited by the Assassin Order. Maybe she's just a random OC who sets herself up with a new identity halfway around the world and watches gleefully as Merrick Pharmaceuticals and Abstergo Industries both eventually crash and burn.
Bonuses include: 1) Joe and Nicky being the most passive aggressive kidnapees in the history of kidnappings - on the face of things, going along with exactly what Hugh asks of them, but doing their best to focus on innocuous memories and figuring out how to purposefully make memories "skip" between similar episodes without Hugh ever noticing the glitch. Also, playing up the Bleeding Effect so that by day three they're only speaking in Medieval Italian; 2) Hugh being a better class of villain than his son. Immoral? Unethical? Yes, but in a sophisticated businessman way, not a jacket and hoodie, stab a man with a letter opener type way. For some reason I'm imagining him as Jean-Luc Picard, if Picard ever had a Mirror Universe alternate; and 3) Interludes of Andy and Booker searching for Joe and Nicky after they've been kidnapped. This should be part action-thriller along the lines of Taken, part buddy comedy, and involve an arc wherein Andy learns of Booker's deep unhappiness with his immortality and helps him come to terms with the feelings that would have otherwise eventually led to the events of the 2019 movie.
And that is surprisingly more than I thought I would have had. As always, feel free to adopt this bun, just link back if you decide to do anything with it.

Desmond is sent back in time after the flare, but is turned into a griffin. How does this change history with his ancestor's?
Okay, so the main problem is a griffin would have the stealth stat of a steam train in Ancient Greece. If they even try to hide the eagle head, people would look because “Why is that dog all wrapped up OH MY GOD IT HAS CHICKEN LEGS!” “Fuck you, man, they’re eagle legs!”
But I like the idea of Altaïr finding Desmond as a baby griffin just a few days after his tragic fallout with Abbas. Desmond would be little enough that Altaïr could smuggle him inside Masyaf and maybe he’ll take him to the very depths of Masyaf where, later in life, his library would have been constructed. From there, Altaïr would keep visiting him and giving him food while Desmond would be trying to get used to his new body and slowly growing up. Al Mualim wouldn’t know about it because he would be too busy with his mentor duties (and, later on, too busy with the whole ‘being a Templar but planning to betray them anyway’ thing he had going for him). The one who would actually find out about Desmond would be Kadar because he has the best Altaïr radar in Masyaf (much to his brother’s annoyance) so he would be able to find Altaïr with Desmond. From there, Kadar will be his fellow secret-keeper and they’ll get close. Malik gets roped in because he’s had enough of Kadar being sneaky and followed him. His reaction was “Oh, thank Allah. They’re not having a secret affair. They’re just hiding a dangerous mythical creature underneath the fortress. That is a BETTER alternative.” From there, AC1’s plot will stay the same-ish with the addition of Kadar living because his closeness with Altaïr and all the sneaking they keep doing makes him less ‘hero-worship’ type and more of ‘I like you, Altaïr, but that’s dumb’ type towards Altaïr. Desmond would probably have his big hero moment by suddenly rushing out of his hiding place and flying around Masyaf once Malik and the Assassins he brought with him joins Altaïr in taking down Al Mualim. During that time, he’ll divebomb Al Mualim and pretty much crack the old man’s back so he would let go of the Apple. And that’s how the Levantine Brotherhood would find out there’s a freaking griffin living underneath Masyaf.
By the 15th century, the griffin would be considered a legend in the veins of “Some say the great Altaïr had a griffin by his side” or “It’s not an actual griffin. The griffin is a symbol of how Altaïr had the knowledge and drive to evolve the Brotherhood”. And then there’s the whole “The griffin is the name given to Altaïr’s Apple of Eden”. It’s the whole ‘the truth is distorted by time’ inevitability in play.
For Ezio, I have a very sad idea that I like: Ezio finds Desmond sleeping in Altaïr’s library. The entire plotline of Ezio’s Trilogy stays the same although Altaïr’s statue in Villa Auditore would be larger to accommodate the large griffin curled around his legs while the memory seals does include an actual griffin which made Ezio go “………… Yeah, okay. Why not? I already met a goddess anyway.” So, in this idea, Desmond stayed with Altaïr to the very end. Even when Altaïr tells him to go with Darim, he refuses and lies down on the ground next to Altaïr’s legs. Altaïr dies in the library after patting Desmond's head and saying “Thank you, my dear friend” to Desmond and Desmond just… sleeps. Maybe he expected to die in the library as well. Maybe he just wants to stay with Altaïr. Maybe… he just had enough of being powerless to change anything. He’s a griffin, sure, but everyone in Masyaf knows of him and they managed to chain him to stop him from saving Sef and Malik. In the end, Desmodn couldn’t save anyone. All he was able to do was help Altaïr and Darim escape after Darim found him and unlocked the chains. He shared Altaïr’s grief and, in the end, he was just as tired as Altaïr was.
When he next opened his eyes, he sees Ezio kneeling next to Altaïr’s skeletons and he let out a sorrowful sound. Ezio patted his head and said softly, “You’ve been here all this time, haven’t you? I’m terribly sorry for your loss. If you’d like… would you like to come with me?”
And Desmond says his final farewell to Altaïr and joins Ezio in his peaceful life back in Italy. Time still took Ezio away from him but, this time, he’s cared for and loved by Ezio’s wife and children. He stays more as a pet and a companion and he becomes a family secret of the Auditores.
In this scenario, I think that Desmond would leave the Auditore bloodline maybe a century or so after Ezio’s death. From there, he travels to the forest near Ratonhnhaké:ton’s village, waiting for him to be born. He regrets not spending enough time with Ezio so, this time, he plans to be there for Ratonhnhaké:ton. Perhaps a part of him wished he could find a way to help Haytham but the Haytham of his memories, of Ratonhnhaké:ton’s memories, was dedicated into the Templar cause too much for Desmond’s liking so Desmond gives up on Haytham and focuses on preparing for Ratonhnhaké:ton.
In those intervening years, Desmond becomes known as the forest spirit and his fondness for Kaniehtí:io is noted as a sign that Kaniehtí:io would do great things.
Desmond doesn’t intervene for a while to make sure Kaniehtí:io and Haytham meets and he waits until they had sex (which was awkward for Desmond) before he approached Haytham. Haytham is too surprised by his appearance that Desmond is able to nick the key from him and then leaves without saying anything. Kaniehtí:io believes that Haytham was meant to give the key to Desmond. Haytham believes that Desmond may be the ‘key’ that is needed to find what he wants.
And that is how Desmond accidentally got Haytham to keep showing up in the forest and in the village, making him realize that Kaniehtí:io is pregnant with his child.
Desmond watches as Haytham grows closer to his family and they even got married but Ratonhnhaké:ton still grows up in the village because his mother refuses to leave the tribe. Because of this, Haytham and the Templars ally themselves with the tribes and Desmond has no idea if that’s a good thing or not.
Ratonhnhaké:ton grows up knowing Haytham and being cared for by Desmond.
……… that’s as far as I got. This would probably have Haytham leading the Templars to not being such dicks during the Revolutions but, in this scenario, Desmond fucked up so badly that the tribes would actually join forces with the British and Ratonhnhaké:ton would become a Templar… with Shay Cormac as his main instructor.

look assassin's creed II is a fucking masterpiece of a game we all know that, but my one gripe with it is the ending.
ezio spent TWO FUCKING DECADES hunting down rodrigo borgia who was responsible for part of his family's execution and the suffering of many italian citizens overall, PLUS wanting to use the apple for ill to get domination not just over italy but the world in and of itself, and when he FINALLY gets to him he spares him??
"oh i cant kill him i'll sink down to his level" no you fucking won't?? he's the reason for all your trauma?? you're doing the fucking whole of italy justice. KILL HIM.

Idk why but I'm tempted to make an AC fic about WWII Poland
I'd probably start it following a novice assassin after the Invasion of Poland where they're kinda the only assassin left in the Warsaw Brotherhood so they have to find some Isu artifacts to contact other assassins that also touched pieces of Eden (a la dream visitor from WoF but without control of who they're visiting)
Like yeah I'd have to involve Ezio and Altaïr into it, that'd be funny as is. But if the poor novice got in contact with Shay who promptly has a PANIC ATTACK over the whole situation? Tasty.
Also might use Malik also cause he delivered the Apple in AC1 so it's entirely possible that there are some lingering traces that the Polak's artifact could catch onto. And then there are also records for others to find to confirm the whole situation.
Maybe there's a sign of when this novice is about to show up? Like a bird or a cat or something. Definitely would depend on what I decide to name the assassin though.
Thoughts?

can you spill more abt that self insert of yours? 👁️👁️
Oh boy oh boy can I? (big yapping incoming) (typo and grammar massaccare of 2024)
Tumblr media
He is a self insert OC Assassin from the Ottoman brotherhood (bc Im Turkish) and he is 23 (bc I am)
not a secret mentor or anything lol I was just joking in the first post making a mary sue.
I imagine he is similar or one above than whatever Yusuf’s rank is (I have yet to play Revelations :,p ) tho I do not know what time he should be in, Realistically if no time travel happened he would be in same time as Yusuf but I dont want Gilf Ezio (sorry) but if its Ezio, Alt and Desmon togather timeline probobly he is in around AC2 Brotherhood time. (maybe he came by Italy to do a mission and dropped by the hideout)
He is ethnically Balkan or/and Greek (bc I am) which probobly means he was taken to Constantinople as a teen or kid to eighter be sent to Jenniserrie training or the male-harem.
Small history lesson:
- Devşirme was the name of the practice where Ottoman empire basically enslaved young Greek,Balkan,Ukranian, etc etc boys and inserted them into an Elite military (Janniserries) even the Sultans themselves were scared of bc they were known to start coups and kill Sultans(they got a salary and are socially above the commonfolk but… military slaves non the less)
-Male-harems existed, again Balkan, Romanian, Slavic and greek etc people were often the main people in the harems (fun fact nearly no Sultan is Turkish due to this lmao they are all mixed), once again their status were above the common folk and they were well taken care of (the older males could even become gov officals after) but slavery non the less.
Idk if I want him to escape the harem or Jenniserrie for his edgy backgrund but maybe he did few years of training, cought the eye of the Sultan and escaped the moment someone was like “you have been promoted to an elite employeeee, u won harem lotterry” . Probobly wandered the streets a bit, got into hella fights till an Assassin picked him up escaping a group of soliders. Maybe it was an older dude who saw him when they were both in training
He is basically based off my own ethnicity and its context to the time and sociatal goings of that era lol (which was hella gay… very gay… too gay almost)
He probobly has some traditional slavic leg, hand and arm tattoos (bc I have em but also) mostly bc around those times (nearly always women) used to tattoo themselves in those motifs to remember their christian roots and their culture (that Ottoman tried to erease) and also to make themselves less appealing to Ottoman Harem/ Devşirme recuiters :,D
For his name, Maybe to be on the nose… Adem? (Turkish ver of Adam) so he is tied to the apples in a fun way? Or Poyraz (means a northern wind) since the meaning is similar to my own name?
He doesnt grow much facial hair (bc I am also stuck w a weak beard) but he refuses to get rid of it no matter how much others tease him bc he is like “I aint getting courted by random crazy men ew” (I dont irl also bc I desperetly believe it looks good…I refuse to open my eyes)
History lesson 2:
-facial hair was important in Ottoman times, It LİTTERALLY determined your gender and how you were approached.
-Socially and in Litriture Ottoman almost had 3 gender roles; Men, Boys (Oğlan) and Women. Once a man grew a beard he would “transition” from being a boy.
-Romantically having a beard versus not determined if you were to be courted or court. Bearded man were called “Lovers” while NON-bearded were called “Beloveds” (yes more often the boys were underage :/ for the sake of history lesson lets…. try to ignore that like ancient greeks)
Tumblr media
there is many gay ass poems ^
He got all the mentall illness coctails that I got bc why not make it worse fr him. I imagine him sarcastic and catty, Claudia prob loves taking him to shop around bc he always got something to fckn say about everyone. Big gossipper. Hides the fact that he hates being as short as he is very well (im like… 165? 5’5-4?). If in Yusuf time, nearly BFFS (if im not inserting myself into the throuple (bc Its my self insert and I CAN BE AS CRINGY AS I WANT) he would end up w Yusuf)
Him about others:
Ezio: will never stop calling him de la la la,likes him a lot, loves pranking and teasing him. Enjoys fake flirting with him till he takes it so far Ezio has to throw in the towel. Probobly teached him how to Oil wrestle and Ezio was like “Are you sure this is a real sport…” and all he did was sigh and say “I am so glad it actually is” as he admired Oiled up Ezio
Altaïr: loves mocking whatever big words he uses all the time. calls him “Big boss” just to see his eye twitch with cringe. Knows he can get away with shit if he acts stupid enough. Altair knows he is not that stupid but is impressed(deragotory, fondly) how low he is willing to go.
Desmond: clearly his favorite (im biased sue me) obvious by how much softer he acts around Des. Ezİo falls he laughs, Des falls “My leige, hop on my back”. Is facinated by his piercings and begs him to help him get some. Desmond desperetly wishes he could invent some ADHD Meds for him. Des also finds him strangely comforting, can imagine himself back in 2010s almost…
————-
Idk im not rlly a self insert person so thinking about him was hard and I also dont wanna make my oc “the main character” in this au so I dont really wanna give him any secret powers or anything.
Maybe some edgy gnarly scars on his back from a past mission where he came in contact with an apple? Maybe when he touched the apple he was supplied that canonly he doesnt exist and he is just a fan created being and has a whole issue about it? I can imagine a sad scene of him crying like “You dont understand, You exist! even as some damn video game you do and people know you they cannot deny you exist. ME? all I am is some weirdos self writing, not even enough to be in canon. Does anything I do matter?” lololol
Thats all I got for him for now lol but feel free to ask more:p Im also open to ideas for him.
sorry for the yapping and history lesson… here is some more fun facts:
-Oğlancılık (male prostitution) was pretty respected they were seen like any other tradesperson in some parts
-a Paşa tried to ban under 30 males from being washers in Turkish Hamams due to them also being sex workers and litterally everyone was so mad he got replaced
-dancers in coffeehouses wore the same fit no matter the gender so boys and girls looked the same (once again they were also sex workers)
-one time a jewish boy caused such a big fight between janniserries the sultan had to threathen to kill 40 man from each side if they didnt stop
-Draculas are real people and RADU the beutyfull (his OFFİCİAL NAME) had a full on recorded relationship with Sultan Mehmet2 :p
- Gay shit was legalized in 1853 mostly bc they never rlly punished it….
for the girlies
-in harems the girls couldnt order things like cucumbers or carrots to their rooms w out it being cut up :p
