Nurses and senior management in Pirkanmaa are not seeing eye to eye, according to Helsingin Sanomat, after the wellbeing services county Pirha decided to start charging for phone consultations.
Since the middle of last month, Pirha started invoicing call-backs from staff at 30 euros a piece. So far patients have only been billed for calls made by doctors.
Pirha's head physician, Eija Tomás, argued that the new system will actually save patients money.
"The clinic visit fee and the old phone fee used to be 46 euros. If the patient's matter is such that they don't necessarily need to come in person, they now pay only 30 euros for handling their matter over the phone," she said.
Nurses have raised concerns that senior citizens living on modest pensions will lose out as healthcare moves toward telemedicine.
"These people won't become digitally savvy or wealthy, no matter how much we would like them to," one nurse told HS.
Russia's visa regime
Russia is working on easing visa procedures for several countries in the Middle East, Asia and Africa, reports Ilta-Sanomat, citing statements by Russian foreign ministry spokesperson Maria Zaharova.
Ilta-Sanomat asked Jarno Limnéll, a National Coalition Party MP, what Russia's long-term goal is in relaxing its visa rules.
Limnéll, a cyber security expert often cited in the media, said Russia may use visa-free travel as a tool for hybrid influence.
"If this is true, it's certainly aimed at facilitating people's access to Russia, and one reason may be this hybrid influencing and directing people towards the [Finnish] border," he said.
On Thursday the Finnish government has proposed allocating an extra 86 million euros for the Border Guard this year. The majority of the funds would go towards expediting the construction of fencing along Finland's border with Russia.

While I’ve only recently emerged in this particular fandom, I have extensive experience in several others. I have found it interesting to observe how the different subgroups coexist.
I can tell you with all honesty that I have seen myself dipping in and out of almost all of them. Anthropologically, this is a truly diverse society.
However, there’s a group of people in this realm who pose as fence sitters and use their exposure for the sole purpose of tearing Sam down. The level of overt toxicity is tragic, when you think of all the time they’re wasting on someone they supposedly dislike. They call it a “public service.” Delusions of grandeur. I pity you.
For my purposes today, I’m going to refer to them as SLAMs. They are lost and have founds themselves and their kin by slamming Sam relentlessly. They exist under a cloak of double anonymity that is neither honourable, nor courageous. Despite how well you conceal yourselves, the following is blatantly obvious about you:
- You fancy yourselves experts on public relations, yet you refute proof (sent to you in private, as a courtesy) when it is 100% concrete, because it doesn’t serve your disingenuous narrative. You come from a place of NO. I pity you.
- You question the business ethics of not only Sam but his partners, employees, accountants, lawyers, benefactors, family and friends. Do you think Sam has publicly set up this legacy to deliberately scam his fans, not to mention all of the above? This is an international company, who (while based in the US) reports income to several countries. Yet, you think a phone call to the IRS is going to be the thing that finally sh1tcans his career? (As you rub your hands together in hopeful glee). This is not your Uncle Pete’s lawn mowing business. Pick up a book. Learn about charities and partnerships before you comment again and reveal how little you understand. I pity you.
- You claim to be somewhat worldly and yet you do not have even a half-decent command of geography, time zones and privacy laws. I pity you.
- Your grasping, reaching, clawing to find *anything* negative from the tree planting event only served to reveal that: a) You know nothing about trees b) You assume the world plants trees the way you plant trees, c) You’re so resentful that you would begrudge an endeavour like this with no consideration of any good they achieve. I pity you.
- Your comments around the Gala tell us: a) You’ve never been at an event with French Service before, b) You’ve never been to a large conference of any size or kind real acumen and c) Your top (only?) skill is snark. I pity you.
- You demonstrate a new level of guile and hypocrisy by simultaneous accusing Sam of doing too much but also wanting him to do more. Stop calling it charity and using it for publicity Sam, but OH, how come you don’t auction off all your leather jackets, Sam? Which is it, Rainman? I pity you.
You don’t even have the conviction to own your narrative. You reblog every negative claim you see about Sam under the guise of “I just share what I get” as though you have no skin in this game. In reality, this is the only game you’ve got. I pity you.

If you're worried about a crystal being fake or about the quality of the items you're buying then a shop owner should be able to help. If they get mad, get out of there!
Don't
Feel pressured to buy- if you are spending your hard earned money then you should feel confident in the purchase you are making. If a seller tells you things like "oh these go really quick" or "you should grab that before they're all gone" as a way to pressure you into making a purchase then they likely on commission and will benefit from your purchase.
Buy things that are culturally appropriative- many of these shops sell things like palo santo or white sage and both of these plants are a part of closed practices. Please don't purchase these items!
Buy jewellery- this is not a hard rule, it's actually more of a personal preference. I will support small businesses who sell wire wrapped crystals but for the most part, simple wire wrapped necklaces are pretty easy to make. Unless I'm paying for the artistry (ie. a complex design or a specific style) then I will just purchase a small tumble of the crystal I want and wrap it myself.

Volunteers on a race have an important role for successful realisation of the event. Consequently, we help with trail marking, directed runners to stay on track, served water as well as cheered them on at specific locations. Prior to the event, we also had a meeting, where we discussed about our obligations and positions. It was an incredibly long and tiring day, but we did something useful for our community and ourselves as well.

I am always grateful for each opportunity I have to be a volunteer as it awakens deep emotions within me. Today, I have a greater sense of community and I am filled with positive energy. Witnessing mental strength of a human mind empowered me to stay on the other side of the fence one day and test my abilities. Every race volunteering creates wide social network of productive and successful community members and sets a positive example for others to join this type of activity. That can be applied on this activity as well. Hovever, I would like to state this wasn't such a positive experience overall. I am no expert, nor am I a runner or an athlete, but even I could realize what a poor otganization this specific marathon had. There were only two refreshment stations for a 42km long race, leading to a collapse of a professional runner(first picture). The marathon started at 11:00am, while it could have started 3 hours earlier so the participants could have been runnig in a better conditions and the traffic wouldn't have suffered so much. To summarize, this activity left a bitter aftertaste, but that alone can be helpful. You learn how to differentiate between good and poor organizations, how to adapt to harsher conditions and become more flexible.

Wednesday characters in DnD
So I've been thinking, what kind of Dungeons and Dragons (or like any other fantasy rpg, with all the OGL stuff) character would each Wednesday character enjoy to play? Let's think about it, shall we?
Wednesday Addams
I feel like, out of everyone, Wednesday would enjoy to play a character that is close to herself. Just think of Viper, the chronically misunderstood teenage detective. So what would that mean? Rogue.
Hear me out. Wednesday likes to be an expert at things she deems interesting: torture, taxidermy, fencing, writing, cello, stealth. She also does not seem to enjoy her visions too much, so going with a less magic focused class would make sense. And the nail in the coffin: rogues are good alone (the typical loner class), but they are even better in a team. Getting a sneak attack is easier with your friends around, and if this is not the message of the final battle, I don't know what else it could be.
Bonus: Thing would absolutely be a Cleric with high insight, or a Monk with unarmed strikes.
Tyler Galpin
So, yeah, I might be biassed with this one, but I think he would not particularly like to play a character like himself, but end up doing something like that anyway.
He might be called to the Barbarian class, as the Rage feature is something he would clearly understand, and could utilize it in a smart way. But it might hit a bit too close to home for him, being angry all the time.
Then there are Rangers with their built in outdoorsy nature and.. well magical racism. He does know his way in the great outdoors, knows hunting tricks, so this could easily be an outlet for some of his interests (yes, even the magical racism; he might be able to process it better once he lets himself realize, that he is also in the Favored Enemy group).
My last candidate for him would be Warlock, and again, this might hit a nerve for him, but I feel like this could be a great way for him to process what happened to him. What do I mean? He made a deal with someone, and in exchange for certain services he got information and power to enact revenge. He probably wouldn't have made the deal knowing the nature of his duties, but it is too late now. Also, fun fact, Warlocks keep their powers even if they break their pact. It is a gift/curse they cannot escape from.
The boy could use some healing and roleplaying can be a good outlet for that.
Enid Sinclair
She is an interesting one. I think she would love to play someone at least as charismatic and fun as herself, and playing in a more supportive role would also satisfy her people-pleaser nature. So what I'm trying to say is Bard, probably.
You could argue that a Cleric or Druid would also do the trick, if she wants to focus on support, but I don't she would like the Druid's reminder of animal transformation. Cleric on the other hand could be a good fit, you can stand your ground, help your friends, be an absolute badass.
At the same time Bard is just so much fun, with the expertise, charisma, performance. I think she would enjoy it.
Xavier Thorpe
He is an artist, so that would mean Bard, right? I'm not so sure about it. Yes he likes to paint and draw, but to be honest, I don't think he would be that into the high charisma aspect; might remind him of his dad.
So what else does he enjoy? Not his prophetic visions, for sure. But there is archery, and he does fencing as well. That could guide us to Ranger or Fighter, but I don't take him as a nature loving person, so maybe Fighter? A ranged Fighter with Painter's supply proficiency. I don't think he would enjoy the dangers of close combat.
Bianca Barclay
Once again, someone who would not enjoy playing a character with the same set of skills as herself. I think she would enjoy playing someone intelligent, a self-made genius, a Wizard, if you will.
She enjoys being the best in every situation and I think she would enjoy coming up with creative spell uses. At the same time, I think she would not mind being in the middle of a fight, so she would pack some spells for surviveability.
My other idea would be a Fighter, but she would play it like a strategist. Doing close combat, while also instructing the others what to do.
Hell, a level 2 Fighter, level x Wizard would be so perfect for her - in a slightly optimizer way.
Eugene Ottinger
I cannot leave him out, he is too precious.
He would absolutely use this opportunity to show of, how cool bees can be, so either Ranger (Swarmkeeper, if we go with official subclasses just this once) or Druid. And he would absolutely kill it.

Nae tapped nervously on the desk with jittery fingers as nae stared at the notification for a message that had just come in through nyr SocialHub's message center. From the icon, nae could tell it had been forwarded by nyr account on the Ghost Hunters For Hire network.
Nae was afraid to find out what nae would find when nae clicked it. Nae dithered and procrastinated for a few more seconds, turning nyr office chair into a slow spin, but when nae finally came back around to facing the desk in front of the screen again, nae knew nae had to click it.
It was a BF-PM from Maelvywin, which was a relief. SocialHub didn't yet allow you to distinguish between private messages sent by best friends, and other types of messages, but apparently they were working on it and hoped to release the update next month.
But, when nae clicked to open the message, nae was both disappointed – and relieved, on another level – that nyr friend was not just messaging to say hi or to update nym on her garden. No, Maelvywin had heard from another friend that they'd had trouble with ghosts two years ago, back when they first started appearing, and they'd gotten help from The Hartgraves, a pair of freelance experts in the supernatural who operated within a pretty big area, which included nyr house.
They were good at what they did, according to Maelvywin's friend, and they hadn't charged anything at all for their services once Kar (Maelvywin's friend) explained their rocky financial situation.
The Hartgraves had taken care of both of the ghosts that had started haunting their neighborhood, and had apparently made sure that no more hauntings would occur there. None had ever since, but, Maelvywin cautioned, that could just be random luck. No one knew how ghosts or hauntings worked yet.
Not officially, at least, nae thought to nymself. Nae'd heard rumors – as everyone had – that ghosts had been around for a lot longer than two years, but just so rarely that if they were reported, everyone just thought it was a hoax or a local legend that was just for fun.
(These rumors were always followed by scathing comments that there had been plenty of hauntings before 2065. It was just that they always happened in low-income communities where the majority of people were people of color, so none of the rich white people had given enough shits to acknowledge the problem, let alone do anything about it. These people always said it was no coincidence that the first “Official” ghost haunting had taken place in a rich white man's mansion.)
Nae wasn't sure what to think of the rumors, but nae trusted Maelvywin's judgement, and if she said she trusted Kar's judgement, nae was going to, too.
Maelvywin's message said she would send another once she'd found the Hartgrave's contact information for nym, since it changed depending on where they were at the time.
Knowing nae'd have to wait, nae grabbed nyr cup, and pushed backward away from the desk, trying to get the chair to roll as far as possible under its own momentum. When it rolled to a stop on the smooth wooden floor, nae used nyr good leg to push it further, aiming for the water cooler that, for some reason, nae'd decided to put on the far side of the room from where nae sat.
Then again, nae'd set up nyr office space before this mess with nyr knee began, so, though nae couldn't really remember, nae was pretty sure nae'd been thinking something along the lines of “it'll be good exercise for us to walk to the cooler and back during the day so we aren't sitting the whole time”.
Cool in theory, not so much in practice now that nae couldn't walk even a few steps without nyr knee buckling under nyr weight.
Rolling across the room in the office chair was inconvenient and time consuming, because the wheels didn't really want to spin freely, and nae had to push nymself backwards and hope nae didn't run into the water cooler.
But eventually nae made it, without knocking the cooler over, and refilled nyr travel mug to the top, drank enough that nyr mouth wasn't dry anymore, then filled the mug again.
And now came the more difficult part – getting back to the desk without spilling the water. Nae'd misplaced the lid at some point. Or maybe the ghost had stolen it. They seemed to enjoy taking nyr things.
Getting back to the desk took twice as long as leaving it, but nae eventually arrived, no water spilled, but nyr good leg – or maybe, nae should start saying 'better' leg – was starting to ache again, which meant the pain medication nae'd taken was starting to wear off.
Relying on nyr better leg to push nyr chair around nyr office wasn't the only way nae'd been leaning more weight on it than usual since nyr knee was hurt, and all of the added stress was taking its toll.
Nae'd been hoping that Maelvywin would have gotten back to nym by the time nae got back to the desk, but was disappointed to see that nyr inbox was still empty.
Less disappointing, though, was the absolutely adorable and hilarious picture that one of nyr other friends had forwarded to nyr SocialHub page of two kittens playfighting, with the picture taken at just the right moment so that their expressions were so emotive nae couldn't help but laugh out loud when nae saw it.
With it came a link to more “Verified Cute” (by people, nae was assured, who actually understood animal body language and wouldn't post pictures where animals were in danger or distress as though it was funny or heartwarming) animal pictures and videos.
Glancing once more at nyr inbox to check that it was still empty, nae decided to follow the link. Nae had time to kill, and nae might as well kill it having fun.
Nae reached for nyr mug to get another drink – and nyr hand met empty air. For a shocked moment, nae simply stared at the empty spot on nyr desk where nyr mug had been two seconds before. Nae'd seen it out of the corner of nyr eye.
And now it was gone. Vanished without a trace.
Nae closed nyr eyes and sighed out through nyr nose, trying to keep from screaming in frustration. That had been nyr last cup in the whole house. The ghost had already taken the rest of them. And had started taking the bowls, too.
Nae spent a minute doing breathing exercises, then resolutely opened nyr eyes again and clicked the link.
Hopefully Maelvywin would get back to nym soon with the contact information for The Hartgraves.
Otherwise nae was going to have to start buying bottled water.

[NB: a lot of the humor in this section is pretty subtle. If you don't recognize a lot of these references, this may not be for you]
Alyssa pedals through the woods at the edge of the complex. It's still light out, though there are clouds on the horizon.
Last night, she and Phaedra had looked up the various apocalypse theories that had risen from the ashes of "Project Orion." Looks like the actual end of the world will come a little sooner than some had hoped.
First, though, an apocalypse of pandering, with just a dash of holocaust for flavor.
Alyssa pedals through the woods, blasting out a few bars of song and then listening as nothing happens, then listening to some more, then pedaling harder and singing louder.
After all, as the experts say, if you can't be happy being yourself, you might as well dance!
Alyssa pulls out her cellphone and calls her sister again. There's no answer. This is starting to be a worrying trend.
"Sarah," she says, "I need to know. What is your pasta preference? Lasagna or manicotti? Inquiring minds want to know."
Manicotti. She's totally going to say manicotti. She has to say manicotti.
Her phone buzzes. She's buzzing her sister. "Sarah? Where are you? What are you doing? Are you with Josh?"
She gets a text message back.
"I'm cheating on my husband with a robot."
It's this kind of thing that makes Alyssa eternally grateful she doesn't really know how to use her cellphone.
She would be spamming everyone she knows with selfies of the cat. "Please come help. I'm being held hostage. Can someone come break me free? This is an emergency."
Where is the car?
She makes it to the fence, looks at the map, and realizes the problem is that the car is the opposite direction.
At least she's still got her bike. Phaedra can wait.
She pedals back, in a hurry. Phaedra just waved at her as she left. She didn't seem to be too worried about her. She'd just said, "Alyssa, if you really are going to a church service, just put on one of those outfits I made you. I will provide a fashion consultation by the end of the afternoon. Now I will work on your ramen."
Alyssa idly pedals, almost missing a turn. A cat is sitting on the road. It's big, orange, and friendly. It waves its paw.
"Hi, cat," Alyssa says, and waves back. The cat moves towards her.
Alyssa has heard of being held hostage in churches, but this is even stranger.
"What's your name, cat?"
The cat looks at her, blinks, and says: "Arnold."
Which is the sort of thing a human would say, except, at least in the way she says it, feline. It's more like a giggle.
"What are you doing here, Arnold?"
"Hiding," says the cat. "I'm really not supposed to talk to people."
Another weird thing. The cat can't possibly be as old as its voice sounds.
Alyssa checks her watch. "How old are you?"
"I feel like I've been stuck here for about ten years," says the cat.
"When was that?"
"Sometime after my nose fell off, probably."
Alyssa realizes she should go back to the house. But then she thinks, Fine. I'll just tell her I got lost. I'll tell her the bike lost a gear, or something. This is hardly a crime. She'll understand, I'm sure.
And yet . . .
And yet she thinks of what Phaedra said a few hours ago. Of the last thing she said, as Alyssa was wheezing for breath and calling her over and over. Of how, once Alyssa was back on her feet, she'd started spouting statistics and figures, and had only seemed really worried when Alyssa mentioned that she was going to a church service.
Even then, she seemed to have some . . . qualms about it.
Alyssa doesn't want to have qualms about going to church, because she wants to go to church. But she's never been a very religious person. She's gone to church with her grandma, but she doesn't really remember much about it. It's not the sort of thing she can have strong feelings about.
"Is there something you want to talk about, Arnold?"
The cat seems to tilt its head. Alyssa's not sure if that's exactly what's happening.
"I have a body," the cat says.
The cat sounds like it's giggling again, though this time it's . . . melancholy.
"Oh. You have a body. That's . . . um. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to say."
The cat seems to be speaking to Alyssa, but somehow she feels as if it's speaking to the cat. As if the cat is being a cat, and also having a conversation with a human, and it feels bizarrely complicated.
Is that just the cat talking to itself?
It can't be. It isn't, Alyssa thinks. "You're not supposed to be talking to people. Is there something I can do to help?"
After a pause, the cat says: "You can ask me about Josh. Joshua. He's a good guy."
This seems like an obvious case of a cat talking to itself. The cat doesn't know what a cat is supposed to talk like. Alyssa used to have a very old and very confused cat who she loved very much. She remembers all the weird things it would say, in its squeaky old-lady voice. She remembers the time it ate its own toy, and then looked at her expectantly, to ask if it could have that toy back. She had given it back. She'd given it back when it wasn't even sure what it was talking about.
This is that cat.
But Alyssa wonders. If this isn't that cat, how did that cat even sound? And if this cat is really talking to itself, why is it having such a conversation with her? She could just play along, but . . .
She's sort of gotten the impression that the cat has a sort of secret.
But if there is a secret, then the cat's secret is a secret about itself. Which seems like a sort of scary thought.
Alyssa thinks of asking the cat about her sister, but something stops her.
She thinks about asking what Joshua is, but thinks of how Phaedra told her about how the cat had once been a huge fluffball, and that it liked walking on a cat tower.
And then she thinks about what it was like to be in the house last night, what it was like to be with Phaedra when Phaedra had been a cat, and not a woman.
She had heard a similar story from her father. A few months before her mom had died, her dad had sat at the kitchen table, drinking orange juice and reading the newspaper. She'd asked why he never came to her dance recitals, and he'd said he was sorry, he was working, he'd had a lot to do at work that day, but he'd tried to get there.
Alyssa had thought his work must have been awfully important, since she'd been the only person on the stage. He'd missed most of the show, but had been there at the end.
Though, looking back on it, that had been kind of weird, wasn't it?
Alyssa isn't sure. She has a feeling there's something she doesn't understand.
So she says, "I would like to talk about Joshua. I would like to talk about where you come from. I would like to know who Joshua is."
"Joshua," says the cat, "is a man
