listen, I had this whole rant in my drafts about how Izzy has problems with gender expression, or like ways of being a man that don’t fit into hegemonic toxic masculinity, and that he wasn’t homophobic per se, just gender normative and annoying. I never posted it because I was rly scared of people from both ends of the izzy opinion spectrum coming into my inbox and hating on my rather diplomatic stance on him, but now seeing from that sneak peek that he’s going to be unpacking all of his shit, and realizing that adhering to hegemonic masculinity and forcing Ed most of all to adhere to hegemonic masculinity benefits literally nobody and is actually harmful makes me so excited like yesssss he’s going to grow so much I’m looking forward to seeing how the writers handle it

ive been looking into it more and he really does match her energy and i find it quite cute his reaction to her changing the karma lyric. man was blushing. i havent actually heard anything bad about him and whether he’s a beard or a real romance, it’s interesting to see this play out. i saw someone say that the reason she’s being so open is because he isn’t trying to hold her back or whatever which i can see in a sense. her lyrics still contradict that but i see the appeal.

There really are two layers to this show about Vikings, and one is about Vikings while the other is a slowburn enemy to friends (to lovers?) romcom with enough combined obsessive devotion to make Sherlock and Watson look like casual business associates by comparison.
