Think of the worst karma 4 them to suffer through

Here you go! I based the karma off of how bullying had been handled at my old school. Hope you like it! Let me know what you think.

Damian hadn’t even met this Lila girl yet, but he already despised her. Marinette had told him all about Lila and her lies. Damian had met Marinette a several months ago when he accompanied his father to Paris for business. The Waynes visited the Dupain-Cheng bakery, and Marinette offered to show Damian around Paris. Before Damian could reject the offer, Bruce accepted it for him. Damian begrudgingly followed the young designer, but ended up enjoying her company. After that trip, the two kept texting and skyping to stay in touch and became good friends.

It wasn’t long after they met, that the Lila situation took a turn for the worse. Lila began making progress turning the class against Marinette. Alix, Nathaniel, Chloe, Sabrina, Kim, and Juleka didn’t believe what Lila was saying about Marinette. But the rest of the class had turned on Marinette, believing the worst in her. They all thought she was bullying Lila, and they in turn, bullied her. Marinette’s friends tried defending her, but the rest of the class was still able to torment Marinette when she was alone. Adrien, even though he knew Lila was lying, did nothing to stop the class’ attack against Marinette. While Marinette was happy that she still had some of her friends, she was upset that the rest of the class could think so little of her.

Marinette became quieter after a while. The bullying was starting to take its toll on her. Damian noticed the change in Marinette pretty quickly and asked what was wrong. He knew that Marinette, the bubbliest person he knew, wouldn’t be this quiet unless something was wrong. She was very hesitant to say anything, but eventually he got the whole story out of her. How her class had started to bully her, based off the word of a liar. How friends she had trusted, had turned on her in the blink of an eye. Damian was furious. He had become rather protective of Marinette, and was infuriated that her class was being so cruel to her. So, he resolved to do something about it.

Damian had spoken to Wonder Woman, who said his plan should work. Damian was going to borrow the lasso of truth and reveal the liar to the class, if not the whole school. He planned to trap, not just Lila, but all of Marinette’s bullies in the rope. That way, the rest of her class could not doubt the veracity of the lasso. He was going to do this during either lunch or the end of the day, to ensure the maximum amount of witnesses to the liar’s forced confession. He hoped some faculty might be there as well and be able to take action against the liar and her followers. With his plan set in motion, Damian prepared to go to Paris later that week. He was determined to help Marinette solve her liar problem. He was, admittedly, looking forward to destroying this liar.

Finally, Damian arrived in Paris. He had decided to enact his plan at the end of the school day. That way Marinette couldn’t be bombarded afterwards, and the faculty was most likely to be present during dismissal. Damian arrived at the school a few minutes before dismissal was set to begin. He waited by the stairs, ready for Mrs. Bustier’s class to walk by. He knew, from what Marinette told him, that her tormentors often left the class first, leaving Marinette and her friends alone in the classroom. He also knew what the liar looked like. So, once the classes were dismissed, he waited until he spotted a crowd of about six people surrounding the liar come down the stairs. It was time to reveal the liar. With that thought in mind, Damian threw the lasso around the group.

Marinette was walking out with her friends, and had just gotten to the top of the stairs, when she saw a golden rope ensnare Lila and her cronies. She was very confused, even more so when she saw Damian holding the other end of the rope. Why was Damian here? Why did Damian tie up half her class? Damian spoke up, “This lasso compels you to speak the truth. It is the lasso of truth, and we are going to have a little conversation.” Max went to deny that this was the legendary lasso, but instead he was forced to say, “Yes, this is the lasso of truth.” Marinette was shocked. New question. How did Damian get a hold of the lasso of truth?

Damian noticed out of the corner of his eye that an older man had emerged from an office upstairs. That must be the headmaster. Perfect. Damian glared at the girl he knew to be Lila Rossi, “You are Lila Rossi, correct?” Lila was forced to confirm that that was in fact her name. Damian continued, not giving anyone a chance to stop him, “Isn’t it true that you are nothing but a liar?” To Lila’s horror she said, “Yes, I am a liar.” Gasps were heard from around the courtyard. Damian smirked, “Tell the truth Lila, what all have you lied about?” Lila tried to resist, but the lasso forced her to reveal everything. The truth came tumbling out of her, and didn’t stop until she had revealed everything she had ever lied about. She revealed that she didn’t know any of the celebrities she claimed to know, and that she never intended to help her class reach their goals like she had promised. She even revealed that all of her injuries and disabilities were all fake. Even the lying disease she had made up, which caused Mr. Damocles to become quite angry that this young girl had tricked him. Damian asked one more question for the liar, “To be clear, Marinette Dupain-Cheng never bullied or harassed you in any way, but you have been bullying her, correct?” Lila tried desperately to keep her mouth shut, but of course it didn’t work, “That is correct. Marinette never did anything to me except call me out as a liar. I wanted to make her suffer for seeing through my lies. No one ever sees through them. So, I turned her class against her. I even got them to start bullying her by claiming that she had been bullying me. I only ever told them what they wanted to hear.” That statement caught Damian’s attention. He hadn’t originally intended on actually using the lasso on the rest of the class. He had just considered them to be idiots that followed the words of the liar. Now he wondered just how innocent they really were. He then turned his attention to the rest of the class.

Damian asked the trapped akuma class, “Did you truly believe Lila’s lies?” When they confirmed that, he continued, “Why did you believe her over Marinette? Why did you all turn on your friend? Why start bullying Marinette?” The class all tried fighting it, but they had the same success that Lila had in that endeavor. Alya broke first, “We were jealous of her! She is the same age as us, but she is already successful as a fashion designer and has so many connections. She is so perfect all the time, it is so annoying.” Rose chimed in, “Yeah, I always thought she had to be better than us, since she was so successful. All of us did. It made me feel insecure. My friend was already so much further ahead in life than I was. But then Lila told us that Marinette wasn’t any better than us.” The rest of the trapped akuma class agreed with that, then Alya spoke up again, “Yeah, in fact Lila said that Marinette was actually worse than us. She was only successful because she happened to know famous people. She was using her connections to get ahead instead of working hard.” Damian became enraged hearing that. Marinette did work hard and how dare these people assume otherwise. Damian growled, “So you decided to bully her for that inane reason?” Alya spoke again, “It wasn’t just that. Lila told us that Marinette was bullying her. If Marinette sunk that low, then she deserved to know what it was like to be bullied.” Damian was quickly losing his composure, hearing these people say such vile things. It seems the rest of the school was of the same mind, because most everyone was glaring at the akuma class now. Mr. Damocles had now come downstairs to stand next to Damian. Damian also noticed that several students were filming what the akuma class was saying. Good, there will be a record of what they have said. Damian asked one final question, “To be clear, how have you been bullying Marinette? What did you do to her?” The class then began to admit everything they had ever done to Marinette. Every cruel word, every bit of destruction, every trip and shove. By the end of the confession, the whole school was furious with this group. How could they do all that to one of the sweetest girls in the school.

When they were finally finished, Damian released them from the lasso. They tried to back pedal and fix the damage they had caused. But they weren’t able fix this with a few words. The group were taken by Mr. Damocles to his office, so they could discuss what they had admitted to. Their parents were called and were horrified to hear what their kids had done. Lila was expelled and her mother sent Lila back to Italy to live with her grandparents who would be able to watch her more closely. Obviously, the rest of the parents grounded their kids. Nino and Rose, who hadn’t done much more than call Marinette names, were given in school suspension and told they had to write an apology to Marinette. Ivan, Mylene, and Max were all suspended for 10 days, and they also had to write an apology. Even though they hadn’t destroyed much of Marinette’s property, their parents still were going to make them pay back Marinette for everything they had destroyed. Adrien, even though he didn’t directly participate in the bullying, was still made to take classes in bullying prevention, the damage bullying can cause, and how to recognize toxic behaviors in people. Alya, who had done the most damage, was also suspended. She was suspended for 10 days as well, pending a hearing with the school board. Only the school board could suspend a student for longer than 10 days. Alya had been confident that she could convince the school board to let her return to school, but it hadn’t worked in her favor. The school board was horrified by the details of what Alya had done and agreed she needed to be suspended for even longer. Alya was officially suspended for 3 weeks. After that time, she would still have detention after school for the next month. Her parents also decided to make her shut down the Ladyblog, which Alya had started using as a way to harass Marinette online. Finally, Alya was also made to pay Marinette back for everything she had destroyed. Everyone that was punished also had their event privileges taken from them, which meant they could not attend any school events, like dances or trips. Even when their punishments were done, the akuma class realized that things had changed drastically for them at school. The rest of the school treated them like pariahs.

Meanwhile Marinette moved on from the events of the akuma class. She became her happy, bubbly self again. She was glad to finally be free of that liar’s manipulations. While she did accept everyone’s apology, they were never truly friends again, the relationships were just too damaged to go back to normal. While it did make Marinette sad to realize that all of these people that she thought were her friends were jealous of her, she was happy to have discovered people that were her true friends. She and Damian were closer than ever, and she was very grateful to him for putting an end to Lila’s torments.

RobStar Week #2 - Stardust

...and so, in a jet-lagged delirium, after sixteen hours of traveling, I present to you all another fic that has not been proofread in the slightest. Yet. We’ll see what happens.

Stardust

And her heart burst like the stars do in the end, and She fell on her knees. But the whole world looked her in awe. She lit the whole universe with her fire for a moment. In the end, she was as beautiful as the stardust falling from the sky and her heart didn't ache anymore. - Akshay Vasu

He was becoming accustomed to the idea of hosting an alien on his own terms. That is to say, he couldn’t just let her roam free after all the damage she had caused the night before, and he refused to ask Bruce for advice or help. So the simple studio apartment he had been using as a temporary base in Jump City went from housing Robin, the Boy Wonder, to also housing a pretty little alien girl who called herself ‘Starfire’.

He was keeping her at an arm's length. He may not have been as paranoid as his father, but he had enough reasons to not completely buy into the bubbly persona he now bore witness to. All traces of the fierce warrior lady, who had hefted a car with the toe of her boot, and kissed him so bruisingly he felt he might faint, had vanished. And the woman that remained seemed impossibly different from the girl he’d met before.

“You can stay with me on a trial basis until we have things sorted out with the others. I can try to get you something more permanent if you’re planning on sticking around for a while.”

“I am ready to do whatever you ask of me, Robin.”

They had been like that for about two hours, seated across from each other in his small kitchen. Robin was dead tired and deep into his fourth pot of coffee. The others - Raven, Beast Boy, and the guy they now called Cyborg - had agreed to meet with him and Starfire at the island later in the evening, so they could discuss a few things. Until then, or until she had somewhere else to go, Starfire would be staying with him. So there they were, a few hours after dawn- ground rules needed to be laid out before anything else happened.

“We’ll have to go over some cultural review as well. You’ll need to brush up on Earth’s laws and fill out some paperwork formally declaring your presence in Jump.”

“If that is what you require, I will take care of it.”

“You might want to contact your planet of origin and sort out those affairs as well. If you were taken by those other aliens by force, you might have a case for -”

“I was not,” she interjected, a painfully tight smile drawn across her lips, “taken by force, unfortunately. But I will be sure to contact the ambassadors of my home planet and confirm I am well.”

Robin was surprised that she never questioned his requests, no matter how uncomfortable they seemed to make her. Sometimes she would fidget under his gaze, before taking a deep breath and staring at him with her wide green eyes. Her back would straighten and her fingers would release whatever they were gripping. And with a sweet smile, her nerves seemingly melted away, she would tell him,

“I trust you, Robin.”

Which was the strangest thing she could have possibly said.

Trust.

She trusted him. She took him at his word in matters that concerned her life and well-being. She trusted him to save her. She trusted that he cared.

And Robin, while flattered, was far too pragmatic to let this slide.

“You...trust me?” He asked slowly, testing the word on his tongue.

She nodded emphatically.

“Very much. You have been unequivocally...nice to me, even though you do not owe me anything, nor have you asked for anything in exchange for your kindliness. It does not go unappreciated. I admire your willingness to assist me in my hour of need and am indebted to you beyond measure. The very least I can offer is my full trust in your words.”

“Starfire, you can’t do that.”

“Do what?”

“Put that much faith in any one person,” he snapped, his temper beginning to rise, “you’re going to get yourself killed or worse if you don’t build some walls soon. Go back into crazy warrior mode or something. I don’t know what it’s like on your planet, but around here, it’s common for people to lie and cheat and steal. ”

“I do not believe you are one of those people.”

Robin rolled his eyes, “quite frankly, you don’t know anything about me. I think it’s pretty naive of you to think that every person who comes along and saves you at the right moment is going to be in your corner forever.”

He could have sworn he saw a ripple move through her, a sharp flash of green in her face. Just as quickly as it came, it had disappeared. Her hands came to the edge of her skirt, fingers digging into the shiny purple fabric.

“I was offered as a prize by my own people,” Starfire said quietly, “given into service under one of the cruelest races in the galaxy. I was disillusioned by promises of loyalty and protection long before then. I do not offer my trust so freely and I am not as naive as you may believe. But if there is someone who has been as kind and just as you have been, who has succeeded in saving my life and gifting me the freedom I have always wanted, I am going to choose to trust them. I am going to choose to see the good and believe in something more. Just like you did.”

His brow furrowed, confusion crossing his face.

“I did what?”

She rose from her seat and approached him slowly, holding both of her fists outwards. There was a crackle of green light around her palms, a warm flicker of energy that danced at her fingertips.

“I was standing like this. I could have killed you in an instant,” she said.

His fingers itched for his utility belt, but he set his jaw and allowed her to make her point.

“I had already destroyed much of your home. I was angry. I was a threat to you and many others. But you saw through me. You gave me a chance to prove I was worth more than what I appeared to be.”

Starfire drew her fists back to her sides and returned to her seat, looking at him squarely in the face. Her eyes drank in the curve of his jaw, the smooth line of his nose, and the slight flush on his cheeks. She stared into his mask so intently, he wondered if he was wearing it at all.

“I will choose to see the good, Robin. I will choose to trust and believe in others,” she said finally, “But most of all, I will promise to always trust and believe in you. Now you may call me naive or foolish, but do not forget - I will always have these to protect me.”

She held up her hands and allowed a flare of green to pass through them, enjoying the look of surprise on his face as it was worn down into amusement.

“Well, then,” Robin said, clearing his throat, “you know what you’re talking about. I’ll...I’ll trust you can take care of yourself, at the very least.”

Starfire beamed and allowed the flames to die out.

“Then it seems we have an understanding. If there are any other items you believe I must take care of in order to establish my presence on Earth, I am eager to know what they are.”

He felt his lips twitch before he gave in and allowed a genuine smile to take place.

“What do you say we get something to eat, rest up for a bit, and finish this conversation with everyone else? I’ll pay for food.”

Starfire grinned.

“As I do not have any Earthen currency, I am afraid it would have been your responsibility to cover the costs regardless. But yes, that sounds satisfactory. If it is not too much trouble, may I use your balcony for a moment?”

“Uh...sure. What for?”

His eyes widened when she yanked her tall purple boots down to the ankle and kicked them off, unbuckling the wide silver belt around her waist and setting that aside on the kitchen counter. Starfire made quick work of discarding her armbands and reached for the gorget around her neck, only to hesitate and draw her hands back to her sides.

“Tamaranians require sunlight to recharge our energy,” she explained, moving a few feet past him to access the sliding glass doors that led outside, “it is preferable that the maximum amount of skin be exposed during the process. I do not yet know the Earthen standard for indecency, but I believe it is safe for me to assume nudity is frowned upon.”

Robin coughed and rubbed the back of his neck, fighting the urge to allow his eyes to trail past her long, ruby colored hair and down to her longer, deliciously golden legs.

“Yeah, uh, you’d be correct in that assumption.”

As soon as the first drops of sun hit her skin, she closed her eyes, tasting the pure energy as it flowed through her veins.

This girl was dangerous. Ethereal. Wondrously and impossibly captivating.

Robin didn’t dare speak. Teenage boy thoughts be damned, he was a professional. If he let himself turn to goo over every pretty girl that came his way, he would be no better than Bruce.

“You know,” Starfire said, tilting her face towards the sky, “I could inform you of the exact composition and properties of light and solar energy by a single taste. I know of the greatest beings in the galaxy, the structures of strange planets, the feeling of stardust as it grazes your body. And despite how normal these have all become for me, I cannot help but feel small in comparison. My power and strength is nothing compared to what the universe has to offer. In many ways, I am like stardust itself - the tail end of something far bigger and greater than I could ever be. Is that not a curious notion?”

It was the first of many incredible things she would say to him throughout their friendship as their feelings grew and bloomed and blossomed and changed and remained. But at the time, it was the most exquisite thing Robin had ever witnessed in his life, and his heart felt a hundred times more foreign in the moments that passed afterward.

“Yeah,” he said quietly, allowing himself to melt for her, just this once, “it really is.”

Mystery Woman /3

I know, that I´ve been gone for a while, I am sorry. But I was completely stuck in my finals. But now I´m back again!!! And you won´t get rid of me anytime soon.

Nearly a week after the incident the Sons were having a business deal going down in their garage, when a black limousine turned into the lot. Inside, Amelia grabbed her bag and turned to the bald-headed driver.

“Thank you so much for driving me, Pete. I have absolutely no Idea how I would have managed without you!” she said, while opening her door.

“No prob Miss Low, after what you did for me and my family I would do nearly anything for you. Getting you from the airport is nothing in comparison to what you did.” He smiled thankfully. “Well it was a pleasure seeing you again Pete. And that small deed is not even worth mentioning.”

Amelia got out of the car and made her way towards the little office of the shop. Her High-heeled boots clicked as she walked over the pavement. Her black cocktail dress, which was only reaching her mid-thigh clung to her body like a second skin and her thick dark hair wafted behind her in the wind.

She was dressed far too nicely to be going to a mechanics shop – which hasn´t been her plan originally - but plans change. And as the school´s office called to inform her about an incident involving her son, some other kid named Bradly and a fire extinguisher, she instantly called Pete, an … acquaintance of hers to driver her to her Son´s school and abandoned her Job.

The only problem she had right now, and the reason for her being here in the first place, was that the school not only wanted her to come in, but also the father of the little troublemaker. Something about him being the possible role model for his sons’ actions. However, her husband was not available at that current moment, as he was also working. Which is why Amelia couldn´t reach him over his cell phone.

That´s why Amelia was showing up at the Garage, searching for him.

As Amelia walked across the lot of Teller Morrow Automotive, towards the Garage, she instantly noticed the closed down garage doors. A strange look on the place. Normally it was always open for Costumers unless… some kind of Deal or something was going down in there.

It was just her luck, that that had to be today. Well at least she didn´t have to search all over Charming for her husband.

Just as she came in reach of the Office door, somebody yelled “Hey! What are you doing!” from behind her. In Amelia´s opinion the voice wasn´t manly enough to be of a Son. It sounded more like the person yelling was a young boy of maybe 19 years. And as Amelia turned around, her suspicions were confirmed.

A skinny kid, possibly in his early twenties, was jogging towards her with wide eyes obviously afraid of what would happen if she opened the door.

“Errr… Mam´ what are you doing? Are you here because of a car or something? Because the garage is closed today. Would you mind coming back tomorrow or the day after?” He was talking in a rapid pace and trying to get her to walk a few steps away from the Office and it´s conjoined garage.

Amelia wasn´t having any of that. She was in a rush to get to her husband and find out what happened at the school. “I am just looking for someone, would you let me pass?” She said, looking longingly at the Office door. She was very sure, that something was going down in the garage. Most likely involving her husband, due to his position in the clubs hierarchy. She looked back at the poor Prospect. “Pease?”

But he remained persisted. “I am sorry Mam´ but I-“ Amelia rolled her eyes. She was going to kill that kid if he didn´t step out of her way soon. She just wanted to get her meeting at the School over with. She´s never liked setting foot into a school. So, she definitely didn´t have time to stand here and argue with the pathetic excuse of a bouncer.

The Kid was still talking and anxiously trying to get Amelia to turn around, but she had enough of his babbling, with an eye roll she stepped around him and headed the rest of the way towards the Office door.

“Hey! I already told you we´re closed today and-“ the kid reached for her shoulder, something that he shouldn´t have done. Because Amelia´s natural reflexes kicked in right that second and with a quick turn and kick, she had him whining on the floor about a broken nose and was making her way towards the Office.

Amelia opened the door slowly and slipped into the Office. It was deserted.

Just as she was about to leave the Office in defeat, she heard a muffled “Humph” from her right and discovered that what she thought was a wall, was really a window covered by venetian blinds.

“Humph” again that sound followed by a variety of curse words. Amelia stepped over to the window, spread two of the blinds and peaked through.

She could see the garage, in which a group of people, wearing leather cuts with the Son´s Reaper on the back stood, surrounding two people. Another Son, one she recognized instantly and somebody else who was handing from the ceiling. Upside down.

For Amelia it was crystal clear what was going on. She herself had been present far too often at interrogations like this. In all of which she took the role as the person in the middle, the Interrogator. She stood there for a second, watching her husband work.

Working together has become a rare Occasion for the couple since they started living in Charming. hi

Amelia loved watching her him work. The way he new exactly where to punch to inflict the maximum amount of Pain in somebody turned her on immensely. Maybe that is another reason as to why their Cooperation didn´t work out that well. It most definitely always lead to sex. The fact that she had the same alluring effect on him when she worked didn´t really help either.

Amelia was so fascinated by the Happenings in the garage that she didn´t catch the Prospect from outside sneaking up on her and taking a swing at her from behind.

His punch wasn´t hard enough to knock her out, but it sure as hell made her furious.

With a fire in her eyes that made him take a few steps back, she turned around and took a swing herself. Her fist hit him square in the jaw and he literally flew into the bookshelf to his left. With a loud thud, in fell to the ground, and he with it instantly blocking the door to the garage.

“Shit, kid. Did you have to do that? What did I even do to you?” Amelia instantly regretted her actions she didn´t come her to start a fight. “You okay kid?”

The Prospect sat wincing on the floor with one of his hands over his face. She bowed down to take a good look at the damage she caused.

“Let me see.” She slapped his hand away. It wasn´t half as bad as he made it out to be. Her punch barely broke his skin. “A cool pack and a few days and everything will be alright again, kid. Don´t worry your pretty little face will soon look the same again. Maybe you´ll find some Lady that´ll play doctor with you. Girls like a wound or two they can fuss over.” She smiled at him reassuringly “You all good, kid?” He looked at her a bit perplex. “Yeah, I´m alright … Thank you, I guess?”

Meanwhile in the Garage, everyone looked up as the noise of the fighting and fallen bookshelf emerged through the wall.

And as Amelia stood up and started to turn around, she heard a klick and felt something cold at the base of her head.

“Now, now, is that how you treat people?”

My Hero Academia Chapter 238 Review

You know, it’s sad. I was looking forward to this arc. Villain versus Villain sounds like a great idea. Where did we go wrong? I know everyone has their own opinion on how it should be done; if it’s entertaining enough to give it a thumbs up. I respect that. That being said, this is mine and I am not a fan of this chapter.

To begin with, this chapter felt like nothing has progressed. It only served as Shigaraki’s momentum rising. It spent mostly on visual presentation, and it’s definitely good, including the page with Shigaraki standing tall with his flowing cape-like. Aside from that, it’s basically padding to create a suspense for the next chapter as the magazine will go on a break. Now, the sad part is, there’s actually parts to talk about, but the reason why I felt this way is because I stopped caring. Aside from Shigaraki’s ego trip, it also served as a preparation for the Meta Liberation Army to get liberated. Yes, I said that.

It begins with an extended version of Shigaraki destroying his father’s hand; once again signifying his evolution. I was technically wrong about Redestro being at his maximum level the last time, but it’s fine because he goes Stress 100% here. The scenery has gone full Dragon Ball Z because nothing screams powerful than big explosion. I wonder if it will become like Bleach, where fans would joke about ink being spilled all over a panel. It was so devastating, it took two double-page spread to show the impact. Seeing Shigaraki blocking it in a sense ruined the tension. Actually, the setup already ruined it from the get-go.

The story isn’t about having an equal standoff. If anything, only Toga versus Curious had that narration, because I don’t know. Instead, it’s to have Shigaraki portrayed as Super Saiyan Gohan 2 after his first transformation. It’s basically a one-sided battle and a picture perfect of what this arc has served: make the League of Villain look good. Redestro is dumbstruck because he’s a villain who is about to get overwhelmed. Once you see that happen, you know the time has come to say bye-bye. Quite disappointing to see him wuss out so soon. If you think we don’t know much of his character, there’s a flashback to showcase the time when he was tasked to carry Destro’s desire over. He’s like, “Okay, whatever,” and here we are. That’s all you need to know because he’s clearly going to get demolished very soon.

If blocking his Stress 100% wasn’t enough, he calls upon an equipment to form him an armor alas mecha; going for 150%. I forgot the fact they made equipment; they made far less impression than bullets to damage quirk. Also, why bother with the armor? It’s not like I’m expecting an equal bout. Oddly enough, I assumed we will be having Gigantomachia versus Redestro, and although it’s predictable, it would have been fun visually. We can’t even have that. But hey, I was wrong, so good for them I guess.

The League are leaving the area; trying to call the Doctor to teleport them out of there. But he sees it as an opportunity for Shigaraki to prove his worth. Hell, you have Gigantomachia, who looks amazed on what he’s about to see. Yes, that means he will be convinced very soon. Geten has a flashback with Redestro, because we need to get ready to say bye-bye. He got knocked away pretty quick though. Spinner latched on the bus to follow Trumpet. I guess he wants a win. Then again, he too probably see Shigaraki in his glory. Shigaraki is set to nuke the damn city with his quirk and that’s where the chapter ends.

What?

First of all, the fight sucked. I know I am jumping to conclusion, but honestly, I think it’s all ending next. My best evidence is with Redestro’s monologue. Once his full-powered attack failed, he’s having a second thought on Shigaraki as a person. Hell, he’s already giving in to him, as if to say, “Well, if I die, it’s okay. He is now worthy to carry forward.” I know some fans would think he will join the League, but really, it’s more like a gratitude sendoff, so we can make Shigaraki great. Also, Redestro’s ambition is more of a leader-type, not someone who would carry a huge goal under a legion.

As for the fight, I can’t even recall the exchanges. The flashback is the real show stealer, but aside from that, it’s dull and ridiculous. I know it has been said that it’s about the backstories or the weights from it, but we are seeing series that can please the audience with both choreograph and emotional weight. Not to mention, this series can do both when Deku versus Bakugo 2 happened. The problem is becoming more and more apparent with its timing of execution, which leads to my next problem.

Shigaraki, all the sudden, can nuke the city with a simple touch. Now, I know what you might be saying, “But Sparda, you wanted Shigaraki to take down everyone.” That may be, but it’s the execution that needed to be “reasonable.” It’s not like I asked Tanjiro from Kimetsu no Yaiba to defeat a demon in the upmost difficulty and win with an asspull or a power-up that can solo one. It could have been done differently. I mean we just got a decent power-up with a group gathering dust, so what’s wrong with that. Also, what a convenient timing to execute a new power-up as well as belittling Redestro like a complete jobber/fodder. Again, this has been a problem with this series and I was hoping it wouldn’t happen here. To think, the only real fight was with Toga and Curious, and even then, it wasn’t much.

I didn’t like this chapter. If you like to see Shigaraki positioned as unstoppable, this one is for you. Personally, I don’t hate the guy, but the ideal of improvement is far too quick in power and probably misguided. He should be more than simply destruction, especially when you have other characters that are capable to be more interesting. Only time will tell his overall journey. Sorry if this review was more like a rant, but that’s how I felt about this chapter and possibly the arc itself. Well, Redestro. We hardly knew you…
