I'm LIVING for these fluffy Animaniacs and reader headcanons. Just wondering, would you be able to write them comforting the reader when they're upset?

I'm glad you like them!! I still need to figure them out tho but I'm getting there. I had a lot of fun making this, please enjoy ᵔᴥᵔ

The Warners comforting the reader would include:

Reminder: This is completely platonic and just pure fluff. Reader is gender-neutral and not species specific

Wakko:

He would be a little bit oblivious about it at first but when he finally catches on he will not leave your side till you feel better

Will absolutely act more puppy-like. Just 100% more affectionate, more playful but also more protective

He’s just so worried about you ;-;

He will be a ball of positiveness and will come up with a bunch of plans to make you feel better

Since he’s not as good with words as Yakko or Dot, he tries his best to cheer you up with his own special ways

His plan is just purely about cheering you up, so anything can happen, really

Expect a lot of cuddles and hugs and reassuring hand holding

Would try to make you laugh by making silly faces, play music for you, do a lot of slapstick humor

Hell, he would might even write a song just for you-

Would give you little gifts he thinks you might like, let it be food, small trinkets or random things you might have only mentioned once. He’ll get it for you

Surprise tickle attacks!!

Asks Yakko what to and what not to do, he just doesn’t want to make it worse

If somehow none of his schemes succeeded at making you smile, he would just try to console you in a more serious manner as a last attempt

“I’m not really good with this stuff, but if you want to talk about it, I will gladly listen!” he would say with a gentle smile on his face at the end of a day full of “cheering up Y/n” shenanigans. You two would sit on the couch, resting his head on your shoulder, listening silently and brushing your back reassuringly as you speak

If you cry, he will cry with you, holding you close

“I’m so sorry you have to go through this...” he would sniffle, trying to steady his voice and nuzzling you tenderly “But it’s gonna be okay… I’m sure of it, You can do it”

If you don’t want to talk about it, he understands that too. He will be more than happy just hanging out with you if it helps

You two eventually fall asleep, him nuzzling you and hoping that he managed to make you feel a little bit better at least.

When he noticed you look happier, he would be just so giddy and relieved, he will wag his tail and have a goofy smile on his face for the rest of the day

Dot:

Oh, she notices something’s up right away

She noticed by the way how your eyes and your body language is different than usual

Wants to know what or who made you upset and then destroy them

Her plan is to make you feel comfortable and to get you to tell her what had upset you

She will take this the most seriously and try to boost your confidence

She kind of tries to help you in a way Dr. Scratchansniff would, even asked him for advice

Also expect a lot of cuddles and hugs from her, these kids are just really affectionate and protective of the few people they hold dear other than each other

Speaking of protectiveness, if somebody even dares to look at you weird, she will glare holes into them

She would take you to different places, like a mall, an ice cream shop, a park or just wandering around in the downtown of Burbank

Will pamper you so much, if you want anything, she will get it for you at all cost

But if you don’t want to go anywhere, no worries! She is full of ideas

Slumber party time!! ....basically

She would have you settled down, and style your hair while helping you opening up (This in an actual method called “Barbershop Therapy”, heard it from Scratchy)

But she would understand if you don’t want to discuss it, even tho she thinks it would be the best for you if you would just get it off of your chest

“It’s okay, hun!” she would say, while playing with your hair and rubbing your shoulder gently. “Just take your time. When you feel ready, I will be all ears”

Once you eventually told everything, she will give you the best pep talk and give you reassurance

“Don’t worry, Y/n. It’s going to be alright! And hey!” she would smile gleefully and give you a meaningful wink “If you need anything, we will be always there to help”

If you cry, she will try so hard not to but fails, engulfing you with a big hug

Once you feel better, she would let out a sigh of relief and feel her heart swell. She is just so glad she could help you

Yakko:

He immediately notices that something isn’t right, but just isn’t sure what might that be

Something about the way you smile or laugh isn’t the same, he can obviously tell

Once he realizes that you are upset, his big brother instinct kicks in

Will not out-right show it, but he’s really worried about you, especially when you don’t really want talk about it

But he also understands how difficult it must be talking about your troubles *cough* personal experience *cough* so he won’t force you to confront your problems like this

Instead he focuses on distracting you and complimenting you, making you forget about whatever made you feel distressed

Expect a lot of jokes and puns, comforting touches and a lot of compliment showers

He’s really good with words after all, he will be creative

His main priority is making you smile at all cost

Won’t leave your side and would be so protective of you

Will take you along to the movie lot to cause some shenanigans or take you out for a day full of fun activities, you name it all

But will gladly just hang out at home if that’s what you wish

Chilling while watching some movies, playing games together, cooking for you or just cuddling

As much as he doesn’t like silence, if that’s what you need right now, he will be happy to give you this comfort

“Hey, just relax” he would mutter softly, a fond smirk tugging at his lips “Things gonna be okay, and you are gonna be okay. I promise…”

But if you feel ready to open up, he will hold your hand and listen attentively

If you cry, he will pull you close and hold you, rubbing your back soothingly and whisper encouraging words. He will try not to cry, feels like he needs to be strong for your sake and giving you all the comfort there is

“I know it must though, but believe me when I say it’s gonna be fine” he would say, as he pulls away a little so he could wipe away your tears “We always gonna be here for you, never forget that…” he would add, nuzzling your nose

He would feel really glad and thrilled after you calmed down and started smiling again

He really missed the sound of your laughter

Together:

Okay now, these kids gonna be really sweet to you individually, BUT when they are together the affection, the compliments and the cheering up gonna be off the charts

They just can’t bare to see you upset

They will be next to you for a long time, but will also give you space if that’s what you want, however they will still check on you frequently

You literally have 3 hyperactive guard dogs under you hands

Making you smile will become a semi-competition between them

“This will work, just watch” “No no no, Y/n loves puns more, just leave this to me” “Whoever makes them laugh first can decide what we gonna have for lunch for a week” “Deal!!”

They will take you to out to theme parks, to the cinema, even to the beach or just to have a stroll around the movie lot

You said that SR can speak, yes? To me, she looks like the type that would normally prefer to be silent. So I bet it really shocked the gang when she spoke for the first time around them. Her first words must have been to SR reader tho. ( I'm talking like she's a baby 😅) I wonder, what does her voice sound like?

Yes, Scarlet Ribbons can speak!! Just like you said though, she prefers to observe rather than verbalize her thoughts. Reader speaks enough here SR doesn’t feel it’s necessary for her to chime in too. It becomes a bit of a rumor for a while, as Mista swore he heard SR speaking once. No one believes him. When he tries to ask you about it, you end up shrugging it off. I kinda imagine her as having a singsong voice to match her personality. Something like this, though a tad deeper. My former idol loving roots might be showing now ,,

Ohh there would hardly be a language barrier in that case! Even more of a prime opportunity to learn more about Reader, since everyone can openly communicate with one another. Narancia is definitely going to be impressed... he thought speaking two languages is amazing, but you can speak three? Color him surprised ,, he’s gonna try and learn them too!

Narancia wouldn’t know what he’s talking about tbh . He’s extremely biased towards his favorite pizza that he’s grown up with, and is gonna make it his personal mission to convince you. You’ll never see him so riled up over a trivial matter. He’d be making excel spreadsheets and charts if he was capable of it, doodling on a piece of paper will have to suffice for now. Narancia is determined once he gets something on his mind, so he’s not letting this go. At least he has an excuse to take you out on more pizza dates under the guise of wanting to prove his point . He’s a little genius.

Okay so since we’ve already established this is a v self indulgent series YOU KNOW that Reader is gonna have a nice singing voice. My idea for this Reader is that she’s very artsy focused, you can kinda decide for yourself what areas you’d prefer, but I was thinking she’d enjoy singing, dance, and traditional art. For her singing I picture something like this, clear and sweet sounding. Fugo has caught her singing the most, but rarely brings it up, preferring to listen before leaving with a little smile on his face. Narancia also catches her humming!!

I could see that happening! Giorno makes it clear in Purple Haze Feedback that he doesn’t want to repeat the mistakes that Diavolo made. He wants to have closer connections to people, and eliminate some formalities. Reader already has a habit of giving her teammates nicknames (Abba, Nara, Panna...), so GioGio is up next. She has to stop herself from saying it in professional settings though.

THANK U !! I had so much fun with it. Giorno still intends on making the best of it in the end lmao. Any trips abroad like that would have to be on the basis of business, Reader’s presence just an additional bonus. So he’s already grateful that she’s here. He’s still one of the best at getting meaningful alone time with her once he moves to the courting process.

She is a very affectionate Stand,, much to the minor misfortune of Reader. Fugo has woken up to SR just staring at him. Neither of you knows why she does it, but she seems to like observing your teammates. It’s gonna end up being Bruno that gets a little forehead kiss... since without him, you never would’ve awoken your Stand. Or it would’ve at least taken a lot longer. Bruno never mentions it to you, it’s a secret between them. 🥺

Ohh that’s an interesting AU type of idea!! Darker SR Reader... maybe her color palette changes to to match? I picked bright red as being a reoccurring theme since it’s often associated with passion and love, and that seemed to fit her. So maybe Scarlet Ribbons is monochrome instead here. And black iris’?? And black ribbons... now I kinda wanna doodle a dark Scarlet Ribbons for fun . She goes >:( instead of >:)

So because I had a few asks about it, I’m going to ramble about some of the scenes I wanted to include in demand an encore and didn’t (for varying reasons) and tag the people that asked instead of answering them all and repeating myself a lot (having said that, if you want even more detail, I am here, shivering with anticipation) Hopefully tumblr doesn’t fuck it up too much :)

Ok so this isn’t in any particular order, let’s go

I was originally going to have more of the first episode actually played through, including Geralt’s reaction to waking up in Filavandrel’s cave and immediately smelling Jaskier’s blood. Jaskier-the-Viper would have known a lot more about the great cleansing than Jaskier-the-bard, considering he y’know lived through it, so there would have been moments of Geralt using that to convince himself that of course this couldn’t be his Jaskier because his Jaskier would never have bought into the human’s shit. And the ‘he’s just a bard’ line? Ooh I was going to lean into that hard. I couldn’t really work the transitions though, and honestly I didn’t want to feel like I was repeating the episode verbatim which was how it was starting to turn out

Renfri was going to have a much part bigger part originally - it was where the idea of Geralt talking to Roach like she’s a horse sometimes and like she’s a person other times originally started. I toyed with the idea of Geralt actually opening up a little bit to Renfri about it, and possibly her trying to use Jaskier’s death at the hands of mages to convince Geralt to kill Stregobor. I did also think about having a mirror of the final fight scene, because I imagine Jaskier’s fighting style to be very similar to Renfri’s, to the point that Geralt actually started to anticipate her movements - only to get stabbed because of course, she’s her own person and however similar her approach to fighting was, there would still be differences. This chapter, though, I decided all of the flashbacks would take place after Geralt met Jaskier again, so it was cut

Triss, oh my god, I had half a scene written with Triss but I couldn’t stop the dialogue feeling clunky and too much like obvious exposition. The plan was to reveal the info we got from Yennefer in the final version more gradually, with a little bit from Triss, a little bit from Mousesack, and Geralt drawing his own conclusions from that. It worked better with the theme of Geralt being a ridiculously unreliable narrator, because let’s be real he would jump to the absolute worst conclusions in a heartbeat, but then I realised Yennefer would not allow other people to be the authority on anything magical in Geralt’s life and would correct him at every turn (how reliable it is, though, is still to be determined :) ). I more-or-less replaced it with the after-potions scene, because I like the idea of Geralt calling for Dandelion when he’s hurt/feverish/not really with it, and I was going to have Triss grill him about it. I’m happy with the final version. Still miss Triss tho

I was in two minds about including anything from ep 4, because on the one hand I wouldn’t really have changed any of the events - except maybe having Mousesack be aware that Geralt used to travel with another witcher and talk it through a bit - but at the same time, the potential for yearning was off the charts

The little song that Jaskier sings at the beginning of ep 5? ‘You all know that this bard, loved ladies from Nilgaard, cause Nilfgaard can kiss my - Geralt!’ That was going to be there for Geralt to obsess over, but I thought people might read too much into it when it’s still just a silly song that he was singing. Again, there was a lot of potential pining with the whole exchange pre-djinn, but I would have changed so little of it overall and I didn’t want to just type out the scene verbatim

I wanted to have a scene of Geralt being in some sort of peril while on a hunt, and Jaskier trying to leap in - because he still had the instincts of a witcher, and when his mind blanked with absolute terror of what might happen to Geralt, he fell back on them without realising. But, of course, the instincts and muscle-memory alone (at that point, at least) wouldn’t have been enough, resulting in Jaskier being pretty seriously injured, and Geralt losing his shit because he couldn’t just let Jaskier die, not again. I still like the idea of this one, although it ran a little close to the whole djinn debacle. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll revisit it (probably not tho)

Originally Geralt and Ciri’s talk on the tower was going to be much more lighthearted, with Geralt telling Ciri stories about the constellations that he learnt from Jaskier, while Jaskier stealthily sat at the foot of the tower listening. They were going to have a bit of a heart-to-heart once Ciri fell asleep, but in the end I felt like I really wanted to address the fact that this whole thing has been really difficult for characters other than Geralt. Yes we like to read about the sad grumpy boi pining, but let’s be real, I don’t know how much time the show will devote to her trauma and I at least wanted to give Ciri the chance to openly grieve.

Yen was going to arrive at fuck-o-clock at night, when Geralt and Jaskier were the only ones up. And also they might have been cuddling a bit. And Jaskier might have grabbed a knife from Geralt’s belt and settled into the old fighting stance they used to use when they needed to protect each other’s backs. I might have had him in a state of panic over the fact that there’s a portal at Kaer Morhen, and desperately trying to hold himself together long enough to face the potential threat, because he has to protect the ones he loves. It might have been related to whatever happened at Gorthur Gvaed. In the end, I went with a lighter version because it had already been a very heavy chapter. This idea is still very close to my heart, though.

1. It’s your birthday! What did you ask for and did you receive it?

i don’t remember my last birthday presents/requests bc it was half a year ago but like, honestly i don’t ask for much these days, i just appreciate when someone puts a bit of thought into a gift for me like, one time a friend bought me nailpolish remover bc i used to paint my nails Constantly but i refused to buy it to remove it between, so i peeled it off and destroyed my nails in the process. some people might think that’s a crappy gift but like, she knew me dshjf

2. What was the last song or album you listened to?

the last song i put On was Holo by Lee Hi bc honestly emotional support song of the year, but rn i’m listening to mots7: the journey bc it was next in the playlist i was apparently in before i queued songs in spotify sdhjf

3. What is your go to snack when you’re hungry or bored?

unless i’ve specifically bought a block of chocolate to snack on, i don’t actually snack much? i might make a cup of tea or another hot drink to occupy my mouth if i’m feeling snackish tho, or just a cup of hot water lmao

4. What is your morning routine?

i usually lie in bed scrolling for like, an hour after i wake up if i don’t have to be anywhere in the morning, then make breakfast - usually banana on toast and a cup/pot of tea (green or black depending on how i feel), or if we have leftovers from the previous night i’ll just eat that for breakfast bc it’s easy. maybe i’ll shower too but idk, i have a pretty slow start most days

5. What mythical/cryptid creature would you be?

hmm a mermaid? or a siren? some kind of water creature that sings i feel like those things are pretty important to me

6. How do you interact with somebody that you don’t like?

i generally try not to if i don’t have to. and i make it my business to not have to talk to people i don’t like kshdjf

7. How do you define a toxic person?

someone who requires everything from everyone else, who disregards boundaries that have been set, who isn’t willing to show the same support others have shown them, who thinks you owe them everything when they don’t put the same work into a relationship. this is especially problematic when there is some kind of power dynamic in the relationship that makes it difficult for the one party to request that their boundaries are respected.... definitely not speaking from experience..............

8. Have you ever been to a concert or fan meet type of event? If not, would you want to?

!! i went to my first concert last november when day6 came to australia again and it was Very good. i also did the hi-touch and tbh would not recommend it was... rushed? like i didn’t even get to See jae and youngk that well bc i was being pushed along by staff... like it was still good and i had a great time and wow i met day6 even if only for 2 seconds between 200 other people... i think i prefer the style of fan meeting where you actually get to take photos and like, have a souvenir from it? not that i’ve done that before but for the price i paid for hi-touch, i do Not think i got my money’s worth...

9. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?

i don’t think it’s hard facts, but i do think it’s fun to think about? like i don’t look up a horoscope or anything but sometimes i look up stereotypical capricorn things and i’m like, they’re not wrong? combined with the rest of my chart like, idk i just think they’re neat!

10. If you had only one sense (hearing, touch, sight, etc.), what would you want?

the sense i fear Losing the most is hearing definitely. if i couldn’t hear i couldn’t listen to music, i couldn’t make music, i couldn’t do my Job teaching, literally my entire life revolves around music. as annoying as it would be to not be able to read music, i already have a pretty good ear? (i was like, i wonder if there are braille ways of writing out music before i realised i wouldn’t be able to feel braille if i only had one sense and uuuuuh i hate this question)

11. Who is your favourite celebrity or idol?

i do hate to pick favourites bc like, i really do have so much love for so many people i’ve never met oops... but perhaps the most recent idol group i’ve come to adore are wayv? literally every day they are there on insta just spreading good vibes, posting their good pets and being generally chaotic and it has made my life just that little bit brighter to have them in it 🥰

12. If you could talk to your favourite celebrity(s) for a limited time, what would you tell them?

most celebrities i’m like, idk man i don’t really have much to say other than i think their stuff is neat and i hope they’re having a good time making it, but the first person i thought of when i saw this question was jungkook? i would want to tell him that i find the way he sees the world really beautiful and inspiring, even if he thinks he’s not as bright as some or as skilled or talented or whatever, (i mean, a) he literally is that talented but anyway) the way he’s so humble and the way he cares so much and seems to feel so much and think so much is just, so beautiful to me and i just hope he knows that doing that is more than enough, and that it doesn’t torment him as much as it sometimes seems to. i just want all of my favourite people to find some kind of peace in the chaos..

13. I’m taking you out on a date and it’s your choice. Where are we going?

picnic by the beach? not On the beach bc sand and food are a bad combo but, bring me to the ocean and i might just fall in love

14. Do you like sweet or savoury foods?

both are good but, i don’t like very sweet sweets as much as i used to, and i’ve definitely grown to appreciate a good savoury the older i’ve become

15. Do you have any band merchandise or merchandise from any of your favourite artists? If so, what?

ok for shinee i own a few albums, a few solos and the current lightstick bc at least it’s a cute lamp even if i will probably never get to see any of them live 🥺

for bts i own Too Many Albums and 2019 calendar and season’s greetings, and only the seasons greetings/desk calendar for 2020 bc i missed the preorder...

and for day6 i own their light wristband thing that i bought at the concert, and a longsleeve concert tee bc they were out of the black tees by the time i got to the merch stand...

Arizona, originally! But upstate new york is legitimately where my heart lies and where Birdie and I ultimately plan to return to one day.

9. How tall are you?

5′4.75″ ...It’s actually closer to 5′4.5″ but well it all comes out about 164cm in the end.

12. What was your last dream about?

So I don’t tend to remember my dreams very well, but they always tend to be very cinematic and don’t always even involve me, though some of them do. Always there’s a plot, even if I can’t remember what the plot is.

The last one I still have some vague memory of I was living in some sort of fascist sort of 1984-ish state, but all slick and 2000s modern and stuff. And I was in a resistance with Penn & Teller for some reason? And somehow they were still celebrities? It was bizarre.

23. Have you ever met any celebrities?

I have! I think there’s only two that weren’t like. Popular Christian Musicians From The Late 90s/Early Aughts, and those were Alice Cooper (who was very nice and thought the story I told him about how when my mom was in college he performed near her and she hopped the fence at the tiny local airport his private plane had landed in and stuck her gum to the bottom of it before going to the concert was VERY funny).

And the other one I actually knew before he was a celebrity but I think it still counts? But I was kind of quasi-adopted as a little sister sort of person by Kellan Lutz’s mom? Uh, he was in the Twilight movies, I forget the guy’s name, the big jock one of the Cullens? I also babysat his younger brothers, and Kellan taught me how to play Pokemon Snap in his living room. This was when he was in high school, obviously - he was a year older than me and I thought he was super nice. I basically lived at their house for a couple years.

24. Baths or showers?

Depends on what I want/need out of it. If it’s just “I want to get clean and maybe warm”, showers every time especially if there’s not a good deep tub available. If I want to soak to help my joints/muscles hurt less or if my spoons are low for standing, then baths.

My kingdom for either a LARGE tub with a separate shower that fits a shower chair, or one of those walk-in sitting tubs with a shower attachment.

28. What type of music do you like?

ALL KINDS. Seriously, I have yet to run into a type of music that I don’t like ANYTHING from that genre, though I’m pickier about some things like heavy metal or country. But I really like kind of. Indie Rock circa the early aughts? Not even rock, just like. Indie rock/pop/folk/country/whatever that weird thing that was going on like. Norah Jones, Ingrid Michaelson, Rilo Kiley, Neko Case, Sara Bareilles... idk there’s a similar through line to a lot of them? ...Maybe it’s just they’re all girls man idk XD But also Give Me Mountain Goats. I love The Mountain Goats.

I just like songs, generally. Fuck genre, often even fuck artist bc there are many artists who I only really listen to a couple of songs from and don’t really get into the other stuff they do.

Also filk. Seanan and Vixy & Tony and SJ Tucker and all sorts of fun fantasyish folk.

33. What do you typically have for breakfast?

I mean, often “nothing”, or “I grab some crackers or a boost shake to get me through until lunch”. I don’t actually like eating right after I’ve woken up? But sometimes I’ll have cereal or toast.

35. Have you ever tried archery?

*sobs into hands* OK so when we were living in Florida, my friend Dorian and I actually used to go to an archery class every week, and it was SO FUN. But then he got a new job and couldn’t do it anymore, and he was my ride and I tried going alone but it just wasn’t the same, but I did graduate to the intermediate class before I stopped going. I MISS IT SO FUCKING MUCH.

I’d really like to take it back up again, but I don’t have anywhere to practice or anything, so it’s difficult.

38. What’s the longest you’ve ever gone without sleep?

I think 72 hours, if you don’t count 10 minutes of being conscious but just *grazing* the edges of sleep and then getting woken up again before I could actually sleep.

When the insomnia passed, I slept for like 16 hours straight with two quasi-conscious points when I went to pee.

46. What is your personality type?

Like, from a test or just in general? In general I think I’m a pretty optimistic but dreamy person. Creative, not great at motivation, prefer working alone or with one trusted partner I already know to groups, like my alone time, etc. I did take a couple personality tests to answer tho!:

50. Left or right handed?

Right handed but I keep trying occasionally to cultivate left handedness in myself. Something I’ve been trying to do since I was like 11 (I never stick at it long enough for it to work, ftr) initially because I was deeply paranoid I would get leukemia and have to get my right arm amputated (I was a weird kid) and I wanted to not have to re-learn how to write while dealing with all that, but then moving forward just ‘cause it would be cool to be able to do, especially when like, I’m trying to do an essay test and my hand is cramping up.

67. Can you name all 50 states of America?

Well, I didn’t think so and i probably couldn’t do it without a map or a list of what I’ve already named, but I took a test and got 100% sooooo...

86. What are you allergic to?

Tylenol and cantaloupe! Also possibly aspirin. None of them like LIFE THREATENING but tylenol has increased in severity of symptoms every time I’ve taken it since I was little and the last time I tried I got a REALLY itchy throat and mouth and it felt like things were swollen and making breathing not DIFFICULT but at least very mildly obstructed, so it’s probably for the best not to take it again, y’know?

87. Do you keep a journal?

I don’t. I used to, when I was in high school I had like four thick journals that had like, those fancy cloth/beaded covers and handmade paper that was really popular for a while in the early aughts? Including one that had a leather wrap cover that was entirely in tengwar and cirith from Lord of the Rings - not from a website, but my own interpretation of the charts and linguistic information provided in the Lord of the Rings appendices. So that no one could read my diary.

I’ve lost the journals and the tengwar chart I’d made but I can more or less rebuild it with the variety of options you can find online, but it’s a sort of mishmash and I definitely didn’t stick to one language’s usage of certain letters, and I developed certain shorthand quirks - some of which were used by tolkien and some of which weren’t - that would make it very difficult to transcribe that journal even if you were working off the specific variant of the tengwar alphabet that I’d been using. I don’t think even I could do it anymore tbh, if I were to find that journal. In my defense, it’s been nearly 20 years since I kept it, so. XD

College AU! Han Jisung

i may have gotten a little carried away with the linguistics part,,, i studied a linguistics module and poured my own damn feelings into this lmao

-Major: Linguistics with TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)

-Minor: Lyrical Composition,, though he kept pretty quiet about it

-Sports: none,,, he tried joining Hyunjin’s basketball team but he got cut from the team during tryouts for Naruto running across the court which was apparently against the rules

-Clubs: Jisung joined the dance club but gave up after two weeks bc Minho kept making him do all the difficult stuff lmao, is a part of the art club bc he likes to draw, esp characters, and design artwork for 3RACHAs posters/mixtape covers,,,, all the posters you see advertised around campus for the next 3RACHA gig, yeah those were designed by J.One lmao

-So,,, linguistics???

-Jisung honestly couldn’t tell you why he ended up majoring in linguistics when he first got to college bc it’s such a weird niche subject

-9 times out of 10 he ends up having to explain what the hell linguistics is to people bc they have no clue

-It’s the study of language

-So like you’re learning a language??

-No,,, I study how language is formed and used and structured

-Honestly Jisung is a bit sick of it tbh, like there’s only so many times he can explain what it is before he wants to explode with anger

-So whilst Jisung didn’t know why he chose linguistics at first, he soon realised that he loved learning about syntax, semantics and pragmatics behind language,,,, he just really loved it

-It also helped him when he was writing lyrics and more often than not, he ended up helping Chan and Changbin with their lyrics when they had an awkward phrase or there was no flow in the lyric

-It really did come in handy for the three of them when they were writing songs late at night and Jisung’s linguistic brain took over when he was checking lyrics

-However,,,, as much as he enjoyed linguistics he actually really despised it at the same time

-I mean,,, idk about you but linguistics is really really REALLY hard to learn and get your head around

-Like if you don’t get something, it makes learning and understanding literally everything else so difficult

-Jisung constantly had an IPA chart in his hand trying to learn the symbols for different consonants and vowels when he was trying to study

-Which,, was hardly ever bc linguistics revision made him want to CRY most of the time bc he couldn’t think of anything worse than writing out the correct pronunciation of sentences or annotate sentences with their different particle abbreviations or,,,, the actual worst which was learning the different phonological rules

-So yeah, Jisung was the literal definition of winging it when it came to his linguistic exams having crammed the night before and bouncing off the wall from 4 espresso shots he had just downed

-He wasn’t that stressed about the exam bc,,, well if everyone else finds it difficult they’ll just lower the grade boundary lmao

-Whilst Jisung seemed like a good kid during class,,,, most of the time was not

-Boy has a LOT of energy and spends most of class literally bouncing in his seat or constantly yelling to a friend across the room from him

-He was asked to leave a few times bc of class disruption and Jisung literally did the Naruto run out of class whilst everyone cheered him on bc of how distraught their teacher was at him

-They didn’t hate him, oh no, bc he was a kind hearted kid he just,,,, was a bit too much sometimes esp for a 9am linguistic class where everyone was literally dead on their feet and he was bouncing off the walls, yelling the answers out even if they were wrong

-He was a much appreciated addition to the class though bc otherwise,,, that class would be DEAD and no one would participate so they were just glad Jisung was there so they didn’t have to answer

-And you bet ur ass when he had to a presentation there were tons of anime references and bad slideshow transition bc that’s who Jisung is a person and he thought they were funny,,, tho the look on one of the examiners face made him slightly regret it but his other examiner was crying at the effects so u win some u lose some Jisung thought

-So alongside his linguistics major, he also took a TESOL path bc he learnt how to speak English so he wanted to help others learn how to

-He always tested out his methods on Jeongin bc,,, they lived together and Jisung literally locked him the living room so he could practice his teaching methods on him lmao

-Jeongin always protested and tried to run away to literally anyone’s house but Jisung just caught him in a hug,,,, and Jeongin could never refuse a hug even if it was from one of his most annoying hyungs

-Besides,,, it meant he got free English lessons without having to be taught by a stuffy professor

-Jisung was a very,, enigmatic teacher and the kind of teacher that would never make a class boring

-In fact, many of the students who signed up for English classes tried to request him despite the fact that u know,,, there were quite a few TESOL students who needed the students to teach as well

-But for the 1-1 sessions,,, Jisung was so oversubscribed that they literally had to redistribute the students so Jisung could get some damn rest,,,, I mean he tried to protest saying that it was fine but the professors were like JISUNG NO

-JISUNG YES he yelled, trying to redo his schedule so he could accommodate all the students before one of his classmates literally had to rip his planner out of his hands and another one grabbed his pen so he couldn’t write any of it down

-Poor baby,,, he just wanted to teach

-A lot of his students came out of their 1-1 classes extremely overwhelmed and had gone to his professor to ask if Jisung is always that enthusiastic and that maybe he should calm down on the coffee

-The gag? Jisung doesn’t even drink coffee unless he accidentally pulls an all nighter before an exam

-The professor just shook his head and was like,,, no that’s just Jisung

-O h

-Jisung wasn’t always the most well prepared for his classes though, preferring to have a very lax lesson plan and once he got called to the head of departments office bc apparently teaching the students English using Beyonce lyrics wasn’t appropriate no matter how much they seemed to enjoy it

-Jisung was offended bc,,, did she just insult Queen Bey just now?? He was going to argue but he didn’t want to get ANOTHER warning bc the last time he was called there was bc he showed his students The Bee Movie and one kid on the feedback form just quoted the opening monologue for his response to “what did you learn that helped improve your English skills?”

-Jisung just felt that learning English through academics wasn’t interesting and certainly wasn’t going to make anyone enjoy it or learn much from it so he liked to use a lot of songs and films and tv shows that had helped him learn English all those years ago

-He still went to Chan and Felix’s flat though just to make sure he could still understand English and that he was still able to English bc lbr here,,, English is extremely difficult

-Like even for Jisung, who lived in Malaysia in his childhood and could speak and understand English well, it’s still hard bc it’s not his native language

-Sometimes Chan had to look over his teaching notes and correct all the English on it bc Jisung had made them the night before and was clearly extremely tired bc it was a jumble of Korean and English that shouldn’t even be together and,,,, were those Zico lyrics in the corner???? JISUNG NO

-But yeah, Chan was very helpful towards Jisung bc of all the help Jisung gave to him when they wrote lyrics together so he was extremely willing to help Jisung with his English

-Heck, he even taught Jisung English once a week so Jisung would feel more comfortable speaking English with his students and his professors bc he wasn’t afraid of getting the answer wrong exactly,,, but still at the back of his mind was that lingering feeling of disappointment if he got it extremely wrong and everyone knew that it was wrong

-The English lessons chan gave to him was extremely useful and he felt even more confident when he went to teach bc he knew that Chan’s lessons would pay off

-You, however, were not a linguistics major

-You studied TESOL full time bc you really wanted to be an English teacher

-You used to volunteer at elementary schools whilst you were a high school student, giving out free English lessons to the kids

-Whilst you may not be as crazy as Jisung was when he taught English, you were still extremely charismatic and enthusiastic bc you had so much passion and love for it

-You met Jisung in a rather,,,, unusual fashion

-It was your first day of classes and you were running late bc you had a meeting with your academic advisor which should have only been a few minutes but ended up being way longer,,, you were polite enough to hear her out but honestly u just wanted to blast

-You didn’t want to miss your first TESOL class bc hello,, that was your damn major

-LUCKILY

-There was still a seat just by the door which you managed to grab before the professor could give you an evil glare for being late to class lmao

-You knew that this would be your spot for the duration of this module bc that’s just how seating arrangements worked,,, u choose one spot and suddenly it’s yours for the rest of the semester/year

-Unfortunately, you couldn’t make that class the next week bc you had doctors appointment during that particular class

-Which, fortunately, for Jisung meant there was one free space when he actually turned up to class that week

-He didn’t mean to not turn up the previous introduction class,, but honestly he kinda gathered he wouldn’t miss anything that he couldn’t find out from the information pack online or by talking to other students lmao

-So when he turned up the week and saw everyone else sat in their respective seats he sighed but spotted a spare one just by the door

-You weren’t there so, without thinking, he just went and sat in it pulling out his notes

-The third week of class comes round, and you arrive to class to see a boy sat in “your” seat and ur fuming bc hello,,,, did he not realise that the seat was already claimed by you

-You stalked up to it and placed your hands on the desk, tapping impatiently

-The boy looked up from his phone and pulled a headphone out, and you could hear a heavy beat with a melodic voice rapping over the top bleed out through the now free headphone

-“I believe you’re sat in my seat”

-The boy just looked at you confused from under his black bangs and beanie

-“But,,, I was sat here last week?”

-“And I was sat here in the first week which makes this MY seat so move it before I drop kick you outta this seat”

-The boy just laughed, before gathering his stuff and placing it on the empty seat next to you,,,, guess that person didn’t want to go to class this week

-(Plot twist: they did turn up albeit 10 minutes late and they realised,,, they lost their seat to Jisung forever and rumour has it the department had to steal a new table for the classroom)

-You just sighed, placing your bag heavily on the table whilst the other boy just sat there, tapping his fingers in time with the music

-Little did you know that this was going to be the beginning of your friendship with Jisung

-As the class started you couldn’t help but be drawn to the boy next to you as he bounced excitedly in his seat whilst your professor spouted some nonsense about how to teach the possessive case as easily as possible

-You couldn’t help but smile as Jisung yelled out nonsense answers to the questions asked by both professor and students, and you full on laughed as Jisung got into a friendly debate with the teacher and the teacher just gave up halfway through

-You caught Jisung’s eye as he sat back down in his seat once the teacher turned his attention elsewhere and he just grinned at you, seeing the smile that was playing around your mouth

-When the two of you were partnered up for a quiz that was going to happen next lesson and the class split off in order to delegate revision

-“I’m Jisung!” the boy, Jisung you now knew, burst out excitedly

-You laughed at his enthusiasm and he smiled at you, before introducing yourself

-“And I’m Y/N, pleasure to meet you Jisung”

-And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the beginning of a beautiful if slightly crazy friendship

-You see, Jisung brought out the loud, childish side in you especially during class whilst you had the ability to mellow him slightly when he got just a little too raucous when challenging a teacher or throwing out answers

-The two of you became extremely close friends, even hanging out with each other at the others flats

-You could be seen playing video games most days instead of studying or having Netflix binges when you should’ve been making lesson plans

-But it was all in good fun, considering you hadn’t failed any classes yet and you had a good social life as well

-Jisung introduced you to his friends and you were essentially one of them now

-Like, you frequently had the boys over in your flat even without Jisung being there

-You came back one day after class with Jisung in tow and found Seungmin and Hyunjin sat outside your door, pouting bc Changbin kicked them out of their apartment bc he “needed space to think for his new track and he couldn’t hear himself think over the sound of a law book being thrown at Hyunjin whilst he was playing overwatch so you NEED TO LEAVE BEFORE I DRAG YOU OUT” to which Hyunjin had replied with “can you even reach my neck?” and Changbin nearly tackled Hyunjin so Seungmin dragged him away before he would be looking for a new flatmate

-You just roll your eyes before unlocking your door and letting them in, knowing they feared the wrath of Changbin lmao

-I mean, they knew where everything was in the flat now so nothing was sacred

-But only Jisung knew where your secret stash of snacks were :’)

-True friendship

-Before you knew it, everyone but Changbin had turned up to your tiny flat for an impromptu movie night

-Chan and Woojin had brought along snacks and drinks, and a very disgruntled Jeongin who just wanted to sleep, whilst Felix and Minho brought more blankets and pillows and set up a pillow fort in front of your TV

-You watch in utter horror as popcorn ends up in every corner of the room before the film had even started bc Hyunjin was retelling his story of nearly being killed by Changbin that afternoon and they all retaliated by throwing popcorn at him

-The boys decided to watch a horror film, and you were less than thrilled

-You didn’t hate them,, you just hated the jump scares and sometimes you had to sleep with the light on just in case

-As you grabbed the drinks bottles from the kitchen, you navigated your way through the pile of boys that had accumulated on your sofa and floor placing the bottles on the floor next to the table

-Frowning, you couldn’t see any free spaces to sit on your sofa and you were slightly annoyed,,,, bc hello it’s your flat AND you sofa u didn’t care that you had guests they were your friends

-As you stood there trying to figure out where to sit, a hand wrapped itself around your wrist and you looked down to see Jisung staring up at you, gesturing to a space next to him

-Knowing there was nowhere else to sit, you begrudgingly sat next to him and Jisung smiled really widely as he felt the heat from your body next to his

-As the film progressed, you found yourself moving closer and closer to Jisung the more jump scares that occurred

-Safe to say, you whimpered quite a lot and at one point you buried you face into Jisung’s chest trying to calm down

-Jisung,,, was pretty concerned with you bc he didn’t know that you were scared of horror films so rather than laughing at you like he would do with the boys,,, he grabbed your hand and rubbed circles onto the back of it soothingly in an attempt to calm you down

-By the end of the film you were basically sat in Jisung’s lap and he had one arm wrapped around your shoulders and his other hand holding yours uwu

-You didn’t realise the film was over until you heard someone, who sounded suspiciously like Seungmin, cough and you practically leapt out of Jisung’s lap

-You didn’t see the smirks Hyunjin and Minho sent Jisung’s way bc you were too embarrassed to admit the fact you were scared and needed Jisung to protect you lmao

-Deciding the night was still young, the boys picked another film and at this point,, you were extremely tired

-The last film had worn you out emotionally and you found yourself drifting off during the second one

-As you did, you shuffled closer to Jisung bc he was warm and soft and you missed the warmth to be quite honest

-As you rested your head on his shoulder, your hand found his and entangled your fingers together before getting comfortable to watch the film

-Jisung was a blushing MESS at your actions tbh,,, like who allowed you to be so cute and play with his heart like this

-The smirks on Hyunjin and Minho’s faces only grew wider as Jisung sent them a panicked look

-You’ll thank us later was what Minho mouthed at him, before turning his attention back to the film that was playing

-Jisung could not find it in him to concentrate on the film, instead choosing to take in your features one by one

-The way your eyelashes rested perfectly on your cheekbones, how your eyebrows would furrow as you shuffled trying to get comfier and the feel on your fingers intertwined with his made his heart rate pick up and left him breathless

-I mean, Jisung had always acknowledged that you were attractive and when you ended up spending more time with him and you got closer,,,, he began to notice everything about you, and whilst sometimes he had trouble recalling what his friends told him sometimes,, he managed to always remember everything you said so clearly

-He gasped,, realising that he had maybe developed a tiny crush on you

-On the opposite side of the room you could see the victory gleaming in Minho and Hyunjin’s eyes

-U see,,, they already knew Jisung had a crush on you and they were just trying to get him to realise it so they could see the two of you happy together bc,,,, boy did they know how much you liked him as well

-Out of all Jisung’s friends, you had grown the closest to Minho and it was to him that you had vented everything about Jisung to,,,, he was just trying to figure out a way to make you realise you had a crush on him too

-Luckily,,, Minho needn’t interfere at all bc after the movie had finished both you and Jisung had fallen asleep and the rest of the boys had left to two you asleep on your apartment floor

-You woke up the next day feeling incredibly warm and extremely uncomfortable

-You rolled over only to encounter an obstacle,,,, cracking an eye open it looked familiar and you realised that your hand was entangled with someone else’s and all of a sudden the images of last night came flooding back into your head

-You clinging onto Jisung, him rubbing soothing circles onto your hand, holding his hand,,,, and then falling asleep

-What you didn’t realise through all this was that Jisung too was waking up

-It wasn’t until you were observing Jisung’s face that you realised his eyes were in fact open and he was staring at you with a soft smile on his face

-Groaning, you reached for a pillow behind you and threw it at him

-Jisung’s laugh echoed loudly in your ears before he launched a pillow at you

-Well,,, it was just a full on pillow fight after that for a good ten minutes until you had all the pillows and Jisung pleaded mercy

-“Fine, I win and you get to make breakfast instead” you conceded, hugging one of the pillows and Jisung begrudgingly agreed, trudging to the kitchen

-10 minutes later, he served you a plate of toast with different toppings and you couldn’t help but laugh bc you forgot how incompetent Jisung was in the kitchen

-As the two of you ate the toast, your eyes kept drifting to Jisung

-His messy hair was almost comical but you found it endearing somehow, and his face was kind of puffy from just having woken up but there was something so intimate about the scene that you kind of wanted to take a photo of how domestic you felt

-As you finished your slice, you took a sip of water admiring Jisung’s features when all of a sudden he made his way over to you

-He leant in and kissed the corner of your lips, before pulling away and smiling at you

-“You had something there”

-Um Y/N.exe has stopped working

-You were literally dying right now,, like wtf

-Why was he being so smooth all of a sudden

-Your brain just went into overdrive and the only logical solution you could think of was pretty damn crazy

-Your head and heart were both in agreement at the solution

-So you just stand up to meet him and grab the collar of his t-shirt and planted a kiss right on his lips

-He was,,, shocked to say the least but goddamn relieved that you reciprocated his feelings

-The two of you pulled apart and sat in silence for a few minutes,,, no one daring to break the silence

-“Soooo,,,, you wanna go on a date?”

-“Sure, let me get dressed and let’s go”

-DATING JISUNG:

-So your relationship,, is definitely not unexpected and was met with great enthusiasm from the boys bc finally,, you had stopped pining

-We didn’t pine!!!

-Look,,, listening to both of you gushing about the other to me was SICKENING and can therefore be seen as pining good day to you

-You and Jisung was very high energy and mainly bc of Jisung bc he would not ! stop! Talking! 99% of the time and u were like,,, babe I love you but pls shut up

-And he would get all pouty which could only be solved if you kissed him

-One day Minho asked you how put up with Jisung being loud for so long and you were like,,, easy! There’s a trick, an off switch of sorts. Care to find out?

-You walked over to Jisung and tapped his shoulder whilst he was talking to Hyunjin about the killing streak he got on overwatch last night you just planted a kiss on his cheek and Jisung stopped talking and giggled shyly before kissing ur cheek back

-You sauntered back to Minho with a smug look on your face whilst Minho,,,, just had a very disgusted look on his face he knew he shouldn’t have trusted you to have a simple answer to his question

-One thing you didn’t know about Jisung was the fact he was part of 3RACHA

-Like you had heard of them,,, you just weren’t big on the campus social life tbh so most things like this kinda went straight past you

-You noticed, however, now you were dating Jisung was that twice a week would disappear for a few hours then occasionally on weekends he would go missing for the entire night

-Not that you were worried that he was doing anything bad bc you trusted Jisung wasn’t THAT stupid to get arrested or something (you hadn’t ruled it out entirely as this is Jisung we’re talking about, he would get arrested for disturbing the peace or something at 3am)

-You just wondered what Jisung was doing bc you were curious

-You waited a few weeks to see if he would tell you and when he hadn’t you just straight up asked him where he went

-He was a little startled, but rather than giving you an answer he just grabbed your hand and tugged you out of the door and towards campus

-“Jisung, babe, please tell me where we’re going” you panted as he weaved through the unfamiliar corridors of a building you had never been in before

-Without warning, he opened a door and pulled you into a,,,,

-Recording studio???

-“Babe,,, what is all this?”

-“I probably told you that I did lyrical composition alongside linguistics right??”

-“Briefly, you were pretty quiet about it to be honest”

-“Well, with Chan-hyung and Changbin-hyung, we uh, write songs and perform them sometimes”

-“Really?! That’s so cool”

-“You think so?” he asked you shyly, ruffling his hair nervously

-“HELL YEAH that’s amazing, could I maybe hear some of the stuff you’ve done?”

-Jisung smiled, slipping into a chair in front of the chair looking extremely professional and began clicking on stuff and bringing up a track

-He plugged in a pair of headphones and slipped them onto your ears, pressing play

-You heard his voice intertwine with the smooth melody and you were in awe at his sheer talent, like you were so shocked that your boyfriend could sing AND rap extremely well

-Jisung sat watching the expressions on your face as the song played, smiling as he saw the different emotions flash upon yourself

-When the song ended you flung yourself at him and began kissing him all over his face whilst he laughed at the sudden affection

-You leant in to kiss him deeply and he just leaned back in the chair pulling you closer to him

Well I’m graduating uni in a couple months so if we could go then, I would be very down! But I would also probably feel the anxiety of needing a job and financial stability throughout the whole trip rip Also I don’t think I could travel w/ my parents rn bc we did go to europe for a while this summer and although I love my them a lot, I would rather travel with my sister or my friends for the time being :)

LIKE THEY RELEASED THREE (2 KOREAN, 1 JAPANESE) ALBUMS THAT ARE A++ WITH BOMBASS MVS/TITLE TRACKS, PROMOTING THEMSELVES LITERALLY EVERYWHERE WITH THE WORLD TOUR AND NOW JINGLE BALL AND ARE DOING IT WITH SO MUCH ENTHUSIASM EVEN THOUGH THEY MUST BE SUPER EXHAUSTED FROM WORKING NONSTOP THIS YEAR. Song of the Year- Shine by Pentagon (lol sorry cloud)

it was a debate btwn shine or love scenario for me but shine did a lot more for pentagon’s popularity and name recognition than love scenario for ikon i think (since ikon already had ~ikonic~ songs like my type, rhythm ta, etc). The song itself is cute and really easy to get stuck in your head but not in an annoying way?? Plus the choreo made the hammer dance a thing (at least in my mind) and the way it rose up on the korean charts was p cool :)

“Nowadays, with his busy schedule, he says he can’t help but wish there were 42 hours in a day. We spoke to Song Min Ho, wearing the Ernporio Arrnani Connected watch, about moments filled with happiness. “

ARENA HOMME: With promotions WINNER’s second official album, <EVERYDAY> beginning, you made a comment saying that you “already have a lot of schedules but you wish there were more.” What did you mean by that?

MINO: lt, sort of like, “When fortune knocks upon the door, open it widely.” (Laughs) Of course, this is a very busy time right now, especially since in the last few years there were no moments of rest. But when I think about the past, of when I was a trainee, or during our period of absence, I feel all over again how much bigger the pain was then. I want to stay busy, because I know how difficult it was when I wasn’t.

ARENA HOMME: Busy people tend to wish that they had more than 24 hours in a day, but how many hours do you think you need in a day for it to be enough? About 40 hours?

MINO: No, I think 1 need about 42 hours. Sunmi’s song, ’24 hours,’ is really a classic piece of music in that sense (laughs). Sometimes, when feel like I don’t have enough hours in a day, I think, “How nice would it be if I had the superpower to make my own space and time, Like a place where everything stops and I’m the only one who can move.”

ARENA HOMME: You had an especially joyful 2017. Are there any moments in particular that make you feel happy just thinking about them?

MINO: Well first, I felt that ‘happiness’ through, when WINNER was able to travel to Australia together. I loved it because it felt like an actual trip. I thought in every single moment of that excursion, “Wow, I’m so happy.” 2017 was the year where I was busiest and was able to receive the biggest amount of love. It wasn’t intentional, but ‘Song Finger’ also became a hot issue (laughs). All these things made me feel grateful, and joyful.

ARENA HOMME: However, WINNER, popularity is definitely not coincidental. It was an obvious outcome because your songs were actually very good. It seems as though with this new album, WINNER’S colors have become more distinct. I personally use them as a mood-booster on my way to work.

MINO: I wish that the songs we make will be considered ‘timeless’. It’s a bar we set for ourselves from a long time ago. ‘Really Really‘ gained more popularity than we expected, so it received a lot of love. Because of that, of course, there was some pressure, but since this was our first full-length album in four years, we wanted to work on this album with ease and a peace of mind. If you feel pressured, there will be no end to things. So we got to work on the album without trying to think about those things the best we could. It’s ‘WINNER, color’ because all four of our tastes are reflected in the choices, but I also think compared to before, our musical spectrum has been widened.

ARENA HOMME: What do you think it means to be ‘WINNER-like’?

MINO: Let, see. I don’t think it, anything I or the other WINNER members designate specifically like for everything to be ‘WINNER-like.’ For example, when you’re shopping and you see a jacket, and you think —“I’m so sure this is in Seung Hoon’s closet!”

ARENA HOMME: A lot of people have grown to like Song Min Ho through watching variety shows. Does the way you want to be seen by the public influence the way you make your music?

MINO: Once my character in the variety-world became set, people, awareness of me became heightened as well. Those who already knew of WINNER, or me, would know different sides of me, but for those who found out about me for the first time through variety programs, they would think of, first and foremost, ‘Song Dummy.’ Having that nickname and being remembered that way is a great thing I feel so overwhelmingly thankful for, but on the other hand, when I’m on stage and putting on an amazing performance, I thought a lot of differentiating the two characters. But, nowadays, I try not to think about that at anymore. I’m trying to distinguish me in variety shows versus me on stage. Like two different people (laughs). In variety programs, I show my true self, and with music and other things, I can chase after whatever I’m seeking for.

ARENA HOMME: I saw that last winter, you attended the Leica Exhibition. I knew through Instagram that you have a lot of interest in taking photos, but seeing you bear the cold and look at those photographs left an impression on me.

MINO: I grew an interest in cameras last year so I tried to use film cameras. It, an ’emotional’ work so I was ready to deal with any inconveniences, but it was difficult to constant, have to take the rolls of film to be developed and go to pick them up again (laughs). So I dabbled in drawing and other hobbies, but at the beginning of this year, I became re-interested in cameras. I’ve used toy cameras, and I’m also trying to use different kinds of lenses. The action of taking a photo alone is enough to give my heart some healing.

ARENA HOMME: What do you take photos of in general? People? Sceneries?

MINO: The places I’m allowed to go to are limited. Only when I’m promoting am I able to sometimes go to new places, but usually, its the studio, the hair/makeup shop, and the broadcasting stations. That, it. So, I tend to take photos of the people who are in those moments with me, whether it be the staff who work with us, or the WINNER members, or a setting where the fans are, stuff like that.

ARENA HOMME: You’re pretty great at drawing, too. It truly seemed like a free drawing, without the constraints of submitting to an art-college-entrance exam.

MINO: Drawing has been a long-time hobby of mine. Ever since I was in elementary school, I didn’t study but doodled instead, and after school, I rapped (laughs). Thanks to that, music became my career, and drawing became my hobby and specialty. I’m trying to go beyond the approach of just, ‘oh, he’s pretty good at drawing,’ but trying to study art and experimenting with expressing that. The reason I like drawing is a different matter in general. Even if I say I pour my heart into writing a song, truthfully, it’s limited expression. As time passes and more people get to know me, it feels as though I almost have to filter what I say. It’s harder to express things for the way they are, in a raw, rough way. But with art, those restrictions don’t exist. So when I draw, I solve those inner feelings I couldn’t write down in lyrics by expressing them like pieces of a puzzle, configured in a way that only I can know. Sometimes, when I post my artwork on Instagram, I used to hope, just a little bit, ‘Will someone understand this message?’ But now, truthfully, leaving that to the side,I just really like drawing.

ARENA HOMME: This is a cliché expression, but it seems like the group WINNER is at a point where they know what each other’s thinking just by looking at one another.

MINO: Of course. It, because we’ve lived together for so long. Just like how, with blood-related family members, you can see in their eyes whether they’re happy or sad, the same goes for WINNER.

ARENA HOMME: You will all accomplish more things under the name WINNER, but what are some of those things you want to achieve as WINNER?

MINO: We don’t have a big goal like, ‘Let, sweep the Billboard charts,’ or whatnot, but we talk about them amongst the members every time we come back. lt’s goals like, ‘Let’s put our happiness first’, ‘Even if we get first place, let’s, not get too excited’, ‘Let’s get an award this year.‘ We share goals like that amongst each other.

ARENA HOMME: In order for WINNER to work while putting their happiness first, what must be met?

MINO: This is a really hard question. For this past season, it’s been about prioritizing communication with the fans. Since there were some complications with us, too, the fans’ cheers and love felt even greater. That, why we had a lot of fan signs this time. We spent so much time talking to the fans and just being with them that our schedules always being delayed. But it was the staff members and the manager-hyung who really worked hard (laughs). When we get busier with schedules, we’re unable to sleep as much, so it, easy for us to get a little sensitive, but for the most part, we’re always encouraging with one another. That’s the way we find happiness, even when we’re tired. Before you’re able to be happy, you need to put yourself in the position of being able to receive happiness.

ARENA HOMME: We just spoke of the boundary between Song Min Ho with variety shows versus Song Min Ho with music. Then, I suppose, if we were to draw another boundary, it would be the one between members of WINNER, Song Min Ho, and rapper Song Min Ho. How are you able to find a balance between those two?

MINO: This was something that was difficult and confusing for me up until recently. If you listen to my rap verses on the songs towards the beginning of my debut, especially, it seems like it’s filled with greed That, because I thought that had to show everything about myself in that short fragment. Now, it’s a little different I try to harmonize the best l can with the song when it comes to WINNER’s music. I primarily place an emphasis on WINNER when I work on music. When it’s Song Min Ho as a solo, I’m alone, so I experiment more with new things and I am at a place where I have relatively been able to find an answer.

ARENA HOMME: There’s a boundary with WINNER as a group, too. Should I say, it’s sort of like an idol-group, but not,at the same time?

MINO: Honestly, we don’t think about it in that way too much. If someone calls us an idol-group, that’s the truth, so we always say that’s correct. But if someone else were to call us artist, we also say that’s correct. Being an idol-group isn’t a bad thing, and being an artist doesn’t mean you have to be super sophisticated. It’s in the eye of the beholder.

ARENA HOMME: Speaking of, despite being busy with WINNER’s schedule, it seems as though Song Min Ho, preparing for his solo album?

MINO: (Whispers) You may be able to meet it sooner than you think.

In response to your anons this morning...

Streaming Anon! So I had my update typed up hours ago, but after seeing some of your anons earlier I decided to wait so I could type up another message in response! To those anons you replied to, or any other anons who may agree, I’d like to be very clear: I HATE BEING NEGATIVE! I hate sending updates that are anything less than 100% ecstatic & proud & bragging about how well Niall (or we) are doing! It actually makes me feel terrible & guilty! I do my best to try to remain encouraging & positive, even when I have less than stellar news, as I don’t want to be a ‘Debbie Downer’ or make anyone feel like I’m ~getting on to them! Bottom line it’s difficult through text to sound encouraging & positive, while also stressing the great need & importance of streaming! I’m not positive how to say our streams are very low & we need much more, while also sounding happy about the situation! 🤷🏻‍♀️ also when I make comparisons for TMTA to SH, the other 1D boys #’s, or other artists, it’s not simply for comparison sake. Not a *whose doing better than who* type of thing! It’s merely to show the vast difference between Niall’s #’s & other artists who are very successful with streaming #’s and/or on the Bb Charts. It’s to help show where Niall is & where he needs to be in order for TMTA to be successful! Finally, I agree that third singles are probably not as big as 1st or 2nd singles off an album, for any given artist! however it would take some significant research of other artists streaming #’s for multiple songs off any 1 album, to really say w/ proof how true or not this theory is. However true it may be tho, it doesn’t mean we can’t want & strive to do better! Especially when I’ve seen how much better we really can do! We can’t go in with this mindset “oh it’s his third single it doesn’t really matter” because with that mindset then it definitely won’t be successful! I love & care about Niall & care about supporting him too much to just give up on helping him succeed! Be it his third single from his album, fourth, hell idk his 7th... I would definitely still be stressing the importance of streaming & requesting & doing the work for him regardless! I will always want to help him succeed & will always encourage others to do the same! (s.n. the actual update for today is coming, i’m gonna send that separately in a second post!)

This was thoroughly unpleasant. Hold up, before I check Wikipedia, I'ma guess Kara DioGuardi was in on this one? I think I've listened to enough 2007 at this point that I can recognize Kara DioGuardi's trademark blechery in here. /checks the credits/ OH MY FUCKING GOD WHY IS SHE SO TRASH. Kara DioGuardi has written plenty of bad songs, including the two most disappointing songs I've heard as part of this project. She's given a credit on "Be Good to Me," which you'll recall was a travesty, and she's given a credit here, on this bad imitation of a Timbaland song. I won't do a Worst 10 or anything like that, because why would I think about things I don't like any longer than I have to, but I guarantee, there’d be multiple Kara DioGuardi joints on a Worst 10. I'm not going to look at her Wikipedia page, for the same reason other people find it difficult to watch Hannibal, but also to keep life full of surprises.

I didn't hate this! This song is incredibly 2007, but it's 2007 in a way that's somewhat timeless, if that makes any sense. Like, in 2014, I wrote about Nico & Vinz's "Am I Wrong?" that, yeah, there's a few things in there that will mark it as being from 2014, but if you wrote this song in any era, it could have blended in with that era's trends and styles with aplomb, and we would have loved it all the same. There's a lot here that's very 2007, but at its core, this song is kind of perfect, could have been released today and sound like a hit from today and still occupy the same space in my heart. It's like "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)," or Amerie's "One Thing," just a solid song which'll make you go "Oh yeah! This! I loved this!" when it comes on.

It is uncouth to speak ill of the dead. It is also uncouth to write that sentence in this context, prolly, but let us be known for what we are. I hope she's doing better. (That bass on "You Know I'm No Good," tho.)

94) "Beautiful Liar," Beyonce & Shakira

Listen, team, we need to talk about restraint for a second, because there are a thousand ways this project could have gone wrong. You get two superstars on the track together, there's absolutely the risk of putting something completely overcooked on the market, some showy vocal battle, but everything here is so understated. The Middle Eastern-y sound could have been laid on too thick, but it's doled out in this tiny, almost imperceptible dose, and that sets the tone for the rest of the track. No one belts anything, because it's understood that there's nothing to belt about, just a dumb boy that isn't worth the effort, and Beyonce and Shakira are compelling singers who don't NEED to be belting all the time to get the point across. This is such a fascinating song! You would expect a song from two titans to attempt to set fire to the world, but this merely simmers, doesn't even boil, just simmers, and it's an agreeable choice.

96) "Like This," Kelly Rowland ft./Eve

The synth track on this song kind of, kind of sounds like the main menu theme of Yoshi's Island, at least sounds close enough to Yoshi's Island that I can completely fuck with this, even if I think the drum track is kind of illogical. (Bob! you should be making jokes, what is this music criticism thing.) UGH FINE oh wow kelly rowland follow beyonce much. you know how like you two used to be in destiny's child but beyonce had a much more successful solo career. hey where's the michelle williams one. um, michelle williams much? that's a person also who was in destiny's child as well, also. she's very less successful! how about that! having fun living a full life and hopefully retiring early after having made smart investments with the money you made from your time in a popular music group? what a putz!

14) "No Frauds," by Nicki Minaj, Drake, & Lil Wayne

This was a very boring song, most of which concerns a topic in which I'm not particularly invested? Like I guess it's kind of interesting to drop a diss track where you sound completely disinterested in the beef, the response is perfunctory and you're only responding because your opponent's name carries some weight and people'll give you shit if you completely ignore it. I’m down for a diss track where the participant is hella bored by this nonsense, but that probably wasn't the intended interpretation. I dunno. If there's one thing I learned from digging through just three months' worth of 2007 hits, it's that there are songs meant to be forgotten, and I have a feeling, if there is a 2027 and we're all still free, there's gonna be another obsessive white dude who's made poor life choices and poorer facial hair choices digging through the 2017 vaults, coming across this song, and realizing sometimes things are forgotten because they're forgettable.

61) "Regret in Your Tears," by Nicki Minaj

I'm of two minds on this. The first one doesn't think we put Nicki Minaj on this earth to make Drake songs. But also, I had a good time! It sounded inspiring, and the idea of a Nicki Minaj break-up song is so inherently interesting to me that I'd almost put it in the "down for this no matter what" category. I just think it could've been a touch more creative than "here's Nicki doing a sad song."

71) "Changed It," by Nicki Minaj & Lil' Wayne

That thing Nicki does at 1:45, "I am Billie Jean and the bitch is my SON," that's why we never stop believing. That's why we listen to this nonsense with entirely too much modern-day Lil' Wayne, because Nicki Minaj will ocassionally do things like that with her voice.

72) "Chanel," by Frank Ocean ft./A$AP Rocky

I DON'T KNOW WHY FRANK DECIDED TO START BEING BREEZY AND MAKE SONGS THAT ARE FUN TO LISTEN TO BUT I APPRECIATE THAT HE'S ZAGGIN' ON 'EM. It feels shitty to give this song a couple of spins and then form a loud all-capsable opinion about it, because that feels like giving the intricacy and depth of Frank Ocean's songs short shrift. But it's his own damn fault for making this song so breezy! It's not necessarily lighthearted, it's not like Frank Ocean is ever gonna take us to his happy place, but it's airy and soft (you know, soft, like air sometimes is), it feels good to just let these sounds envelop you, and I haven't quite yet figured out how to express what I love about the transition to Rocky's verse, but trust that I loved it. (Maybe this doesn't need to go up the date the chart drops?) nah, we’re good

78) "Liability," by Lorde

This feels like a song that's probably going to be really dope in the context of the album, where it can play the supporting role it is clearly meant to play, but as a standalone track, I dunno. It's definitely more interesting than the average piano-'n-strings song, you can really hear that Fun. sound clear as day. It's just not particularly substantive on its own. Though, I suppose if it's being released as a teaser, it performs the job admirably, giving just a hint of what the album could sound like. I'm stoked.

95) "Prblms," by 6LACK

sadness is not the only valid emotion. darkness cannot exist without light. fucking christ, you people won't listen to "Run Up," but you'll listen to a parade of fucking dudes bleat about how shitty their relationships are. i don't get it.

Who won the week?

Frank Ocean had the best individual song, and that is to be commended, but oh my stars does 2007 ever take it. “With Love” would sink weaker ships, but we had “Beautiful Liar” and “Get it Shawty” on this one, along with the Yoshi’s Island sounds and the bass line in an Amy Winehouse song. “Chanel” took to the seas with one pretty cool Nicki song, two bleh Nicki songs, fucking 6LACK, and a Lorde song not meant to live on its own. It falls to the bottom of the ocean, and future underwater anthropologists (prolly a thing?) will find it in the wreckage and ask how..
