Summary: just mark lee as your friendly neighbourhood spiderman

Authors note: very much inspired by Tom Holland’s Spiderman whomst i LOVE and ADORE and very much self indulgent

-So, you all know the drill, bitten by a radioactive spider, get superpowers and suddenly you’re saving Queens from weirdos and saving cats for old ladies

-That was Mark Lee’s life, except well, he’s a high school senior with a secret identity

-The fact that he moonlights as a superhero makes him jittery at school when he can hear the kids talking about his latest romps as “spiderman”

-Part of him is really proud of what he’s achieved ever since that damn spider bit his hand about a year ago but also,,, if his older brother Johnny ever found out that he routinely threw himself off buildings (sometimes even for fun) well,,,, Mark doesn’t want to think about it

-So yeah, his makeshift hero getup was shoved under a loose floorboard of his bedroom floor that he swears to Johnny that it’s fine and they don’t need to get a repairman in to fix it

-Sure,, his outfit wasn’t much, just a hoodie with a spider motif sprayed over it and some lycra pants and shorts worn over it but it was practical and comfy and also very easily replaceable bc he could fish old things out of the junk or at charity shops

-But after meeting Mr Stark, he got a super cool and exciting new SpiderSuit and it makes him feel very much like an official Avenger even if Mr Stark says he’s not

-Hiding his bruises and scratches from Johnny was extremely hard, especially when he had to come up with more and more outlandish excuses and he just smiles awkwardly as his brother got the first aid kit to wash out the grit from that ghastly cut on his arm

-Honestly, it was such a hard thing to keep a secret from his brother

-He was extremely close to Johnny, who took care of him and is now his legal guardian after their parents moved away and never got in touch with them again, so keeping such an important secret was the WORST thing for Mark

-He wanted to be so truthful to his brother who had sacrificed his whole life and career to look after Mark but he also enjoyed this other, somewhat glamorous life that he really enjoyed keeping a secret, it was something he didn’t have to share it with Johnny

-And as much as he loved Johnny, he was incredibly overbearing and involved in as many aspects of Mark’s life as he could

-So, he just shut up and let Johnny rant about his day at work or let him fuss over him because that was way easier than trying to convince Johnny that it’s okay for him to be swinging around Queens or fighting Captain America and Black Widow in Germany (Johnny thought he was on a trip to Switzerland with Tony Stark to attend some kind of conference)

-But outside of his “superhero” world, Mark was the most uncool and nerdy kid you could imagine

-He loves physics and maths so much, studying in all of his spare time and making computer programmes and coding in his lunch break instead of going to the school cafeteria

-Thought, if he was being honest, if he actually went to the cafeteria someone would probably trip him up or knock the tray of food out of his hands “accidentally”

-(Not to mention, Johnny would pack him lunch to take with him that he normally he’d munch away at in his classroom, even if it wasn’t the best sandwiches he’d ever eaten)

-He had his enemies, picking on the nerdy, quiet, skinny boy seemed the best thing for the school bullies especially Flash but he was just kind of used to it now,,, besides if Flash ever found out if he was the Spiderman,,,, well,,, he’ll just keep it a secret for now

-But the thing he liked most about school

-You, his best friend ever since you bumped into him, knocking both of your trays out of your hands because you were too busy trying to balance your comic and food tray as you were navigating the cafeteria and you immediately apologised but Mark apologised even more until he saw your comic and got very excited that you read the same comics and since then you had been best friends

-You bonded over comics but you definitely didn’t know that your best friend was the Spiderman whom you ADORED and in actual fact you were a huge fan of the Avengers and absolutely gushed about them to Mark all the time

-Unbeknownst to you, Mark had only just returned from the airport where he made his “debut” in the Avengers thanks to Tony and did in fact kinda know them maybe he wasn’t sure on their actual relationship but he did like Mr Rogers even if he did have to fight him Mark has MAD respect for Mr Rogers

-He just let you gush about your love for the heroes, knowing that you admired him in not just his spidey persona but him in real life too

-It just meant that keeping it a secret from you even worse than from Johnny

-Like the amount of times he nearly accidentally revealed himself to be your favourite superhero was actually so unreal he’s more shocked that you haven’t actually figured it out yet

-But, of course, this is Mark Lee

-The nerdy, bashful, shy superhero with a blabber mouth and easily forgets the details of his normal life when he’s out superhero-ing

-So when he goes out one night, kicking some leftover cronies of the Vulture that still roamed the streets of Queens he swings in to his open bedroom building with a few cuts littering his face

-As he swings in, he rips off his mask and shrugged off his hoodie before trying to open the loose floorboard

-Trying is the keyword here

-Because lo and behold, you were actually stood on the floorboard holding your joint Lego project you’d been working on for weeks (a work in progress Millenium Falcon), mouth wide open as you realise that your best friend is actually the Spiderman

-“Uh… Y/N ? Please don’t drop the Millenium Falcon but uh, hi… I guess you figure it out… I’m Spiderman ?”

-“I hadn’t noticed thanks, wanna prove it?”

-“Um… shouldn’t you be more worried that I revealed my secret identity to you by complete accident?”

-“Shoot a web”

-And he does,,, much to your surprise as he bound your hands to the Lego, accidentally using a bit too much force and breaking some of the pieces off

-But to Mark’s surprise, you’re really not that shocked that he’s crusading as The Spiderman you had been admiring for ages and it really calms his anxiety about this whole situation because if there’s one thing Mr Stark taught him was to keep his identity a secret but knowing that you’re not that bothered and seem more interested in the biology and chemicals that the spider who bit him in the first place and the fact you wanted to meet Thor and Captain America

-With you knowing meant that Mark was way more relaxed and joking around about his nightlife, making everyone around you think that Mark had a badly behaved pet

-And sure, sometimes he rocked up to yours with serious cuts all over his arms and chest and he was so sure that you were going to turn him away and the fact that you kept a spare set of clothes and a first aid kit and cleaned up and made him sleep at yours that night, you soothing him as nightmares took over him

-He would always apologise in the morning and it made your heart break

-“Mark, you’re never a burden to me, if anything… I’m grateful you trust me so much so don’t ever, ever try to hide anything from me… I’m here for you both as Spiderman, but more importantly for you, Mark Lee, a kid from Queens”

-“Thanks Y/N”

-“So when are you introducing me to Thor, it’s been a while and it’s taking a toll on me to keep your secret…”

-“Y/N for the last time I haven’t even MET Thor, so how can I introduce you to him?”

-“FINE, then maybe your precious Mr Stark”

-“That’s more plausible now can we watch The Goonies finally?”

College AU! Ju Haknyeon

-Major: communication and media (radio specialist)

-Minor: mandarin

-Sports: once tried out for football but the coach kicked him out after flirting with sunwoo, their captain, tried to be part of jaehyun’s table tennis club but jaehyun accidentally hit him too hard with the ball and maybe he cried so now he just supports all of his friends and creates cheerleading routines with juyeon at everyone’s events

-Clubs: dance !!! also a radio host on the campus radio

-Haknyeon is probably the bubbliest, happiest kid on campus

-He literally radiates with good vibes all the time, which his friends are grateful for bc u bet if they’re having a bad day Haknyeon just walks over to them and suddenly the grey clouds are gone the birds are chirping again

-Haknyeon is that boy

-He’s just very happy and enthusiastic to be in the moment, loves going to classes and making pretty notes that he can decorate with stickers and doodles

-He even has a customised pencil case with loads of cartoon pigs on it to remind him of home bc he wasn’t allowed to bring Honey into his campus dorms which upset him a lot bc who could he cuddle to sleep now ?? (hint: it’s his roommate Sangyeon and practically every other friend who sleeps over, cuddle bug Haknyeon will cuddle them to sleep)

-Haknyeon’s one of the most dedicated students out of his friends, he’s very passionate about his degree and ever since he was a kid he knew he wanted to be a radio host

-Growing up on an island meant he wasn’t as in touch with what went on the mainland so radio was one of the things growing up he could use to stay in touch, not to mention when he was tending to his pigs or helping round the farm with his mom they used to listen to the radio together singing along to the songs, or laughing at the radio guests

-Haknyeon knew how important the radio was for everyone at home so he decided to become a radio host

-Not to mention as he grew up he put on “broadcasts” for his family about his days at school or what Dongho-hyung had taught him at choir or Seungkwan-hyung’s prank he pulled during a fire alarm

-Haknyeon was a very bright kid, so his broadcasts were well received by his family because he was so enthusiastic about everything he was saying and his little lilt of an accent as he attempted to speak with the Seoul dialect instead of his broad Jeju one

-He even got asked to host awards ceremonies at school bc of how bubbly and enthusiastic he was during his last year of middle school and if anything, that cemented his love and desire to go into communications and as he was applying for colleges he knew he wanted to take the course that specialised in radio communications

-So here he was, thoroughly enjoying learning about the communication world worked and he even landed a spot on the campus radio in his first year which Sangyeon was so proud of him for doing

-Speaking of Sangyeon

-He was practically Haknyeon’s college dad, making sure he was getting enough rest, going to his dance competitions (to see his other boys as well) and tuning into his radio show whenever he could,,, which wasn’t very often during normal semester time as Haknyeon had the dead slot of 2am-4am and Sangyeon had a lot of 8am starts but during finals,,,, well Sangyeon loved tuning in

-Despite having the dead slot, Haknyeon found the experience invaluable

-He could develop his own corners and play his favourite music all the time, occasionally speaking to whatever listeners may be tuned in giving advice or just reading his favourite stories or anecdotes from his classes or his friends or his childhood he just loved talking and hosting his show

-He’s also part of the dance club along with a few of his friends, mainly going for the fun of it and spend more time with his friends bc heck, they hardly spend enough time together as they do completely different majors (though he sees a lot of jaehyun,,,, maybe be too much)

-He loves to dance especially with Changmin choreographing the dances bc he admires Changmin so much and thinks he’s an incredible dancer, if a little odd sometimes

-Changmin lit up during one practice when he walked in late and Haknyeon was spinning to show off to Hwall and Juyeon and he screamed in excitement bc he never knew Haknyeon could b-boy and omg you have to meet Daniel he’s incredible and you could learn so much from him !!! And Haknyeon’s a little overwhelmed bc 1) he’s dizzy from spinning too fast, 2) Changmin screams way too loud and it hurts and, 3) who the hell is Daniel ? Surely Changmin didn’t know the Kang Daniel

-Well turns out he did, the specifics were vague, but Daniel adored Haknyeon and they regularly had b-boy “competitions” on the school grounds and was actually recruited into Daniel’s b-boy club,,, which was just him and Daniel but Daniel occasionally bought him chicken so he wasn’t complaining

-ANYWAY back to communications

-At first, Haknyeon was overwhelmed at the amount of stuff he had to learn bc well,, you don’t exactly study this kind of stuff in high school so it was all new and scary, not to mention he was away from home for the first time and leaving his mom to look after his sisters and he wasn’t allowed to bring his pigs

-But after a few weeks he really settled and made a lot of friends, one of which was his co-host on the radio show, you

-You were a communications major, specialising in radio along with Haknyeon and when you first met him you couldn’t help but want to get close to him so you discreetly moved seats to be by him in your first class together and he shot you a massive grin and introduced himself

-You couldn’t help but laugh as he tried to disguise his thick accent and he laughed along with you, eyes crinkled up and your heart did a little thumpity thump bc he was so cute

-You became each other’s rock in class and when your course leader announced that there was a position open to host the radio Haknyeon shyly asked if you wanted to join him bc there needed to be two people and you immediately agreed

-Sure, the 2am-4am slot was DEAD but the two of you made it work as you just got along so well ???

-The first shift was kind of awkward, as to be expected but you had gone to his dorm the other day to plan out a schedule and a list of songs you could play and the entire time you had been giggling shyly to each other and blushing furiously when Sangyeon came back and you guys were leaning on each other on the sofa sharing headphones to decide whether the song could go on the playlist and he just yelped in surprise and the two of you jumped apart

-(Sangyeon secretly thought it was adorable though, he was so happy that Haknyeon was opening up to a new person so happily ?? bc as much as Haknyeon was a friendly, bubbly person… he didn’t have as many close friends as people thought he did)

-But when you rocked up to the radio studio for your first night, a coffee in your hand and wearing an oversized hoodie and seeing Haknyeon there pushing his glasses back so they didn’t slide off his nose as he was reading through his notes your heart FLIPPED and when he flashed you a nervous but happy grin you knew,,, perhaps you were already whipped for this beautiful boy

-Your first show went by so quickly and you could barely remember what had happened but you remember that adrenaline that coursed through your veins and the warm hug that Haknyeon had wrapped you up in when the show had ended and the way your hands brushed against each others as he walked you back to the dorm

-Little did you know that Haknyeon felt the exact same way as you did, starting at almost the exact same moment when he saw you walk through the door looking adorable in your big grey hoodie with sweater paws

-Since that first show, you guys are way more relaxed and you developed a good format for the show to the point where you had one of the most steady listener rates and regular followers who would respond and request songs and stuff (Haknyeon’s friends were the main ones but you had a lot of final year students who listened as they were preparing for their dissertations and thesis’ and they loved hearing the almost naivety of you and Haknyeon as you discussed funny things that happened that day in class)

-Even though you had the graveyard slot and you often came from a full day of tiring classes and extra curricular activities and sometimes you didn’t even want to go and stay up to present on the show, knowing that Haknyeon was there to lift your mood and sometimes he brought food and coffee especially if he knew you had a rough day

-So,,,, a few months pass by and you and Haknyeon became even closer, becoming closer with Haknyeon’s friends (especially Sunwoo, Kevin and Sangyeon) and the feelings you shared became even stronger

-Though did either of you do anything about it? Absolutely not

-Did you both complain to much to Kevin and Sunwoo about your crushes? Absolutely

-Sunwoo just rolled his eyes every time he spent time with Haknyeon when they were “studying” together and he was doodling your name in the margin of his notebook and was like “Haknyeon if you don’t confess any time soon I will tell them that you have the most embarrassingly huge crush on them”

-Haknyeon just blushes and continues to doodle hearts around your name and sighs, knowing he should probably confess but you know it is, he’s not sure you feel the same way about him

-Sunwoo just SIGHS bc dumb kids in love, especially when you invade his dorm space after a show and you WHINE about how cute Haknyeon looked that day and it’s like 5am and Sunwoo is like “dude, please, can I sleep” and you’re like “sunwoo, you were already awake u dumb fool”

-Kevin though,,, Kevin is the literal DEVIL

-He becomes Haknyeon’s go to man bc he always lets Haknyeon rant and he won’t say anything,,,, but this boy is gathering evidence, everything from song recs that Haknyeon would confess with, date ideas he’d take you on and the fact he wants to introduce you to his pet pig

-And Kevin just waits for the opportune moment, a wicked smile appearing on his face every time Haknyeon leaves to go see you or to class

-Not to mention, whenever Kevin could, he would send in requests with those cheesy love songs that Haknyeon told him about and only him, which leaves him FLUSTERED and you’re all blushy bc you’re listening to these songs with Haknyeon and you can’t say anything bc he’s got his head buried in his hands to hide the blush that was creeping onto his cheeks

-Sometimes Kevin would send little messages with things like “this is the perfect song to confess with” or “im sure your crush would love it if you played this song” and well,,, Haknyeon beat Kevin’s ass later, slightly scared that this would scare you off

-Anyways sure enough, the time arrives

-You see, college ruins your immune system and spring allergies combined with a bunch of students getting colds due to stress and the temperature change well,,, that wipes you out one day and you’re stuck in bed with a hacking cough and sniffly nose

-Your roomie, bless their soul, piles you with blankets and cough medicine and gets chicken soup delivered from your favourite Chinese takeout place and lets all your professor know that you’re too ill to make it to class and to email any missed work to you

-An angel tbh

-And with that, you go back to sleep, head pounding and dizzy from the pain killers you had taken to minimise the pain in your chest,,, completely forgetting that you had a radio show to host with Haknyeon and you hadn’t told him you were ill

-So when Haknyeon arrives and the air time is creeping even closer and you’re not there,,,, he’s panic texting Sangyeon, Sunwoo, Kevin, the gc, and your roommate to find out where you were bc he hadn’t heard from you all day and he was worried okay

-But the show must go on and Haknyeon presents it, letting the listeners that he was flying solo today and in each song break he was constantly checking his phone

-About halfway through, Haknyeon was feeling lonely and a bit courageous that he decided to confess, knowing that hardly anyone was listening so he just,,,,, rambled on about how much he liked you

-“Y/N… I know this isn’t ideal and I’m doing this on OUR radio show but I do like you as more than uh well a friend… just the way you smile when you come into the studio with dark circles but a willing smile on your face, giving advice to the listeners or the way you laugh when Kevin tells a really bad pun and you get all breathless I think it’s breath taking… you’re breath taking and I’m sorry if I scared you off these past few days with those dumb love songs we kept playing blame Kevin-hyung for that one, I just really like you and uh… maybe we could talk tomorrow if you’re listening and if you’re not well… I’m sure all 3 of our listeners right now are laughing at me so now I’m gonna play a song we both love ‘falling slowly’ from the musical Once”

-Shakily, Haknyeon turned the song on and buried his face in his hands

-Little did he know, that you had woken up and turned into the radio show,,, knowing you probably should’ve text Haknyeon about it but you just wanted to listen to his soothing voice and when that confession happened,,, you knew you had to do something

-Swallowing a gulp of water, you grabbed your phone and cleared your throat, praying that your voice wasn’t going to sound too bad and as the song came to an end you punched in the number for the radio show

-“Okay we have a caller, say your name and why you’re calling in at 3am good listener”

-“Uhhh…. Haknyeon?

-“Y/N?! Oh my god are you okay why didn’t you text me why are you calling in I’m happy but I’d be happier if I could see y-“

-“I love you Ju Haknyeon”

-“W—what?”

-“I’m in love with you and have been since we met”

-“I’m… oh my god is this you confessing to me? Because I just confessed to everyone listening that I love you and I want to date you please say this is true or else I’m going to cry”

-“Hey don’t cry baby, I want to date you so after this show please come to my dorm and give me cuddles I’m sick”

-“I-yeah I can do that… did you call me baby?!”

-“Goodnight Haknyeonie see you later and good luck with the rest of the show”

-Safe to say Haknyeon just screams down the radio mic in disbelief, much to the chagrin and happiness of the listeners who had been waiting for this since day 1

-And trust me when I say that Haknyeon RAN out of the station at exactly 4am to your dorm, he practically FLEW there

-DATING HAKNYEON

-Well, you’re pretty much dating as soon as Haknyeon wraps you in a massive hug that night

-He definitely nursed you back to health, feeding you soup and binge watching anime with you

-And as soon as your back to health everyone congratulates you bc your clinging onto Haknyeon’s arm as your walking across campus and Haknyeon has the biggest smile on his face as your leaning into each other

-Sitting next to each other in class but now his free hand is resting on your knee and you lean closer to his touch

-You guys are like skinship central, never a hand off each other whether it be holding hands or full on bear hugs you love it

-Haknyeon is just a giddy boy and loves to hold your hand bc he thinks it’s adorable and he can swing it back and forth between you and it always makes you giggle when he does it and happy you means happy Haknyeon

-Oh, and dates where you can eat as much as you can ?? all the time !!

-Haknyeon loves introducing you to all of his favourite restaurants and eating haunts, from noodle places to burger joints to pho Haknyeon knew where ALL the good foods are and somehow he manages to get discount and is on first name basis with all the owners and knows about their families and is always so friendly ?? he’s a mystery

-But hey, discount is always good and so is the food and being with Haknyeon is always the best thing to you

-Haknyeon 100% tries to feed you but always misses your mouth or eats your food instead and every time you “fall” for it but lbr, you let him do it bc a big smile always appears on his face whenever he does it and you pout at him

-Dates to go and get ice cream at 5am bc you were craving it ? sure thing baby let me grab my coat and wallet and let’s go bc Baskin Robbins has a new flavour I wanna try, most likely Haknyeon whenever you ask to go on dates

-If you ever try to cook for him or him for you, well,,, it never really goes well and if Haknyeon is cooking Sangyeon is hovering over him, worrying if he was going to burn the dorm down so you mainly settled on eating out

-Though,,, “if it’s” were always a mood with you too,,,, an “if it” is well,,,, you find whatever is in your cupboards and kitchen, you make something from it and eat all of it

-Cheese, ramyeon, pickled eggs, pepperamis ?? all of it on the plate and you’re eating it in your pjs, watching food network and giggling when Haknyeon spills the soup on his shirt

-Until he takes it off right there and then and you’re like !!!!!!!! HAK !!!!!!

-And he just smirks before running to his room to find a shirt bc he’s just a big baby

-Though,,,, you were too shocked that he was hiding a good body underneath all those soft sweaters

-When he returned he just shot an abashed smile at you and pulled you into to his side and you melt into his touch

-It’s about a month in to the relationship when you kiss him for the first time

-It’s always a weird thing to other people considering how touchy you guys were each other, but kissing had just never turned up

-Not until Haknyeon invites you to his dance performance and you’re In awe of his dance and he looks all attractive and stuff with sweat beading on his forehead and before you could stop yourself as soon as he walks over you’re running into his arms and he spins you round as he picks you up and you just press a kiss on his mouth and well,,, adrenaline ladies,,, you’re kissing a sweaty, hot Haknyeon in front of all of your friends and other dance crews and you couldn’t care less until Jacob screams about you tainting his baby and you break apart laughing

-Since then,,, well kisses ! kisses ! kisses !

-Cheek kisses, forehead kisses, kisses to the back of your hands when your holding hands, to your knuckles, on his nose as he scrunches up, on his shoulder when you back hug him and you press your face to his shoulder blade

-So many kisses !!! and it’s adorable !! 10/10 !!

-You guys have “study” dates but honestly it’s just you guys giggling in the library with Sunwoo looking on disgustedly before sighing when he realises you’re not going to stop flirting in front of him

-Radio shows were even better now, you guys playing songs and planning dates live on air bc somehow your listeners loved to hear about the little dates you guys go on and it’s just very precious okay

-Just,,, dating Haknyeon is the best experience you’ve ever had and everything he does drives your mind wild bc how can he be so cute and precious can one boy be

-And Haknyeon adored every single aspect of you, every emotion, every feeling you gave him when you smiled or frowned or cried, you were so good for him and he adored you and you adored him

-You’re just a very precious, cute couple who everyone busts an uwu over to be quite honest bc I am as well

-(Oh and you definitely end up become Honey’s second parent and you adore that pig so much,,,, just not as much as Haknyeon)

ahhh okay so i went to the fancon and im here to say that i ADORE THE BOYZ WITH MY ENTIRE HEART AND IM STILL CRYING A WHOLE WEEK AFTERWARDS I MISS THEM

Author’s note: Hi guys, it’s been a while since I’ve posted a written scenario so I decided to post this one, inspired by the song “The Only Reason” by 5 Seconds of Summer. I’d recommend giving it a listening in general and while reading this (it’s a great song.) Don’t forget requests are open and to stay hydrated! We’ll have more things coming soon. “Don't talk, let me think it over” were the words that escaped Ten’s lips, finally bringing the room to a silence. Even though the quiet held an almost unbearable weight it was still welcomed, slowly filling every part of the apartment as he stood there thinking. Your chest heaved up and down in a fast-paced rhythm, finally regaining all the breath that had been violently expelled in the last hours.

The evening had started off nicely some would say. He came to see you after a long couple of weeks of being apart due to what you assumed was his growing schedule. You were greeted with a kiss and a warm embrace before he offered to help cook dinner. Nodding your head, you accepted the offer and headed towards the kitchen together and began cooking. Lots of people would think this was cute and nothing was wrong, but they couldn’t feel the tension that settled in the room whilst you both silently made dinner. It felt like a lifetime before the meal was finally ready and neatly placed on the table. No words were spoken as you both sat down at opposite ends of the table, however the look in your eyes indicated you wanted to speak but thought it best not to. Ten could sense the tension and see the look you held in your eyes and decided to start a conversation.

“How have things been with you recently?” He inquired softly, hoping this small talk would satisfy your hunger for conversation that was becoming more obvious as the seconds passed.

Disappointment crossed your face and you shrugged in response, not feeding into the idea of small talk to help keep the illusion that everything was fine. Ten sighed and his shoulders slumped as you refused to speak to him, dropping his knife and fork, he placed his elbows on the table and rested his face in his hands.

“Speak to me, please” he whispered into his hands and although you barely heard, your heart shrivelled at the pain and tiredness evident in the quiet words.

And with that the flood gates opened, everything you wanted to say all came out at once and you couldn’t stop it. First it started quiet, trying to show you understood he was busy but couldn’t help but feel neglected. Then as he came up with excuses to invalidate your points words became louder, no longer were you sitting but standing expressing your feelings with your hands. He too rose from his seat in efforts to bring you down to a calmer level, but it was of no use. Your feelings had come to a boiling point and you could no longer maintain a calm persona. You were hurt, alone and trying to still be understanding but he just wasn’t understanding even though you could see he was trying.

Hours passed, and it developed from one problem into many, all the things you thought were wrong were out on the table and Ten was hurt. You could see from his face he was devastated, everything had seemed it was going well and of course you had issues, but you never brought them up so Ten thought they had passed, but seeing you explode proved they weren’t. You knew it wasn’t only Ten at fault here, you could’ve communicated your issues better but, in the moment, it didn’t matter; you wanted him to understand you hurt and you threw countless words, all while he stood there saying nothing.

“Tell me, is it even worth it?!” you screamed at the top of your lungs, not thinking about your words, only desperate to get a reaction, and that’s what you got.

It looked like he had taken a shot to the chest. Ten was devastated and tears filled his eyes as he looked at you.

“O-Of course it’s worth it. It’s always been worth it” he stuttered out, still in shock those words left your mouth.

“How are we going to fix this?” you questioned before continuing “How are we going to undo all this pain?”

And that’s how you got to this moment. Complete silence in your once joy filled home as Ten quietly pondered on what to do to save this relationship. Tears filled your eyes as he took more and more time to think. It felt like years of silence and you couldn’t take it anymore, finally you broke the silence with one last question

“Is it too late to bring us back to life?” you choked out between the freshly flowing tears.

Ten looked at you with tears in his eyes and opened his mouth but no words could come out. He loved you with everything he had and to see you question it broke him in ways he feared could not repair if this was to end.

Not being able to take anymore silence you turned on your heel and headed to your bedroom. Closing the door softly behind you, you took to your bed and curled up on your side. Tears continued to stain your cheeks as you replayed the scene in your head. You hated yourself for exploding, for not being better at communicating. For the words you hurled in his direction. For the fear and pain you had seen in his eyes, emotions that you caused.

While drowning in your thoughts the door was softly opened and shut and there was a sudden dip in the bed. Snapping out of your thoughts you knew it was Ten, not only could you tell by his scent but who else would it be? You stifled your sobs, figuring Ten would go to sleep on his side of the bed without a word but suddenly you felt his familiar arms wrap around you and he pressed his body against yours in a hug. His forehead then rested against your shoulder and he placed a soft kiss just underneath before he softly spoke.

“You know there are some nights where I close my eyes, my head is all dizzy and numb, it makes it hard to sleep…Hell I even find it hard to breathe sometimes,” he shakily confessed, “But I think of you and it makes me better…you’re the reason my heart never gives up, why I’m ready to spend time practicing to no end, why I’m ready to perform on stage and why I’m ready to face the hate” he continued, his fingers gently playing with yours.

“Sometimes things get broken, bitter words even get spoken…but it’s never too late to bring us back to life. I love you too much to give up just like that, so please…never say it’s too late for us because if I’m breathing, I’ll be fighting for us” he finished, his voice trailing off to an inaudible whisper as he tried to mask his tears.

During the speech your tears continued to flow as your boyfriend finally said everything he wanted and once he finished you slowly rolled to face him and could finally see the broken state he was in. Gently you brought your hand up to his face and wiped away his tears.

“I should’ve been mature about this. I know you won’t say it, but I know my words hurt you” you murmured, a slight crack in your voice evident. “I’m so sorry, this’ll never happen again. I’ll be better. I promise” you quietly choked out, overcome with emotion as he leaned further into your hand that still caressed his face and pressed a soft kiss against it.

“We both will, I’ll be better at talking to you even when I’m busy. I swear it” he responded in a whisper, his arms pulling you in closer, so you were both pressed against each other.

“I love you” he continued before placing a soft kiss on your lips to which you gently responded, as if too much pressure would shatter him.

“I love you too” you murmured against his lips, one arm wrapping around his torso and the opposite hand going up to his hair to gently run through it.

Ten let a small smile cross he face despite the tears the remain on his cheeks before resting his head in the crook of your neck. As you felt him softly breathing against your skin and his heartbeat through his chest you realised it would be alright. Come hell or high water you would both fight whatever came your way because if you too were with each other, there was nothing you couldn’t beat.

College AU! Choi Chanhee/New

author’s note: there’s mentions of alcohol and slightly nsfw content just after the competition which u can skip if it’s too uncomfortable!

-Major: mathematics

-Minor: statistics

-Sports: lol no

-Clubs: president and leader of the mathletes!!! Used to be part of choir but left bc of his dedication and promotion to president of the mathletes club

-Chanhee is scary smart at mathematics, like, super scary smart

-He can do complex linear equations half asleep and can often be found watching TED talks or graduate lectures online because he’s bored or wants to know more about a particular aspect of maths that his lecturer refuses to teach until graduate level

-He’s just extremely smart and inquisitive and wants to go beyond the scope of mathematics that is usually taught at his level

-His dream is to develop new mathematics that can be applied in medical research because he wants to make the world a better place

-Despite Chanhee being scarily smart and giving off an aura that he knows everything, he studies extremely hard, to the point where his roommate Changmin feels bad that he’s playing a game on his phone because he might distract Chanhee

-Chanhee really doesn’t mind though, finding Changmin’s presence really soothing and constant, which is what he needs when he’s studying bc too many demanding presences will drive his brain into overload and he can’t solve his Diophante equations

-He will also randomly murmur mathematical and theorem laws under his breath as he walks around campus and once got a textbook thrown at him by Sunwoo who thought he was chanting satanic rituals, which afterwards when Chanhee explained exactly what Fermat’s Little Theorem was (“look Sunwoo, all I’m saying is that it’s pretty simple even Hyunjoon could do it and he hates maths. It’s just, if p is a prime number, then for any interger a, the number a to the power of p where a is an integer multiple of p, quite simple really”) Sunwoo was even more horrified and convinced that Chanhee was a demon

-Only Eric was partially sympathetic to Chanhee’s number plights, knowing that it was difficult even though he only had a fraction (hah) of the work Chanhee had

-Mathematics, really did drain the life and soul out of Chanhee a lot to the point where he rarely got out to see his friends bc lo and behold, his statistics professor wants to hold another 2 hour lecture later bc he got a special guest lecturer to talk about the use of statistics in crime scene analysis which, to be honest, Chanhee wasn’t particularly interested in but he knew he could quiz the lecturer on complex maths and that’s always fun for Chanhee (not so much for the lecturer however, who had sweaty palms and kept stuttering when trying to answer his questions)

-So when he was invited out by his friends, 9/10 times he would say no, preferring to catch up on the work he thought he had finished yet somehow there were still pages upon pages of problems to do and he was drowning in it

-Not that he didn’t want to go out with his friends but his education did come first

-He didn’t spend all his time during high school working his butt off in class and several part time jobs to afford tuition to spend all of it on drinking alcohol or partying

-Not that he didn’t do those things, but they were once in a blue moon

-But when he did, boy did he go hard

-He didn’t have to drink the alcohol for a good time, but it just felt good to sit back with his pals and listen to Juyeon complain about how his latest animation assignment went dreadfully wrong as he accidentally played it in negative colour and double the speed and he couldn’t stop it or give Younghoon pointers in his latest scriptwriting venture

-Though, Younghoon didn’t appreciate all the math based puns he suggested

-Chanhee also loved to go to Kevin’s many gigs he did all over campus, preferring the acoustic sets he did with Jacob and Sangyeon to heavy rock sets he did with some intimidating mechanical engineering majors but he went to as many as possible

-Which confused a lot of the usual people who haunted these events, wondering what uptight, white button up shirt, maths nerd Chanhee was doing here instead of sticking his nose in a geometry textbook

-Simply put, Chanhee was an enigma

-Seemingly quiet and reserved and often times, scary but when he was with his friends he was screaming wildly and being the butt of affectionate jokes between the boys, knowing they were only teasing him and he just laughed along to it, enjoying when Changmin and Younghoon would cling to him after they thought they took a joke too far

-Chanhee just knows what he wants, he’s a simple guy

-But seeing Chanhee in his full element of super scary smart maths student was watching him at mathlete competitions

-He was the captain of his team and helped with recruiting and training

-Chanhee just loved the competition because, believe it or not, he never really bragged about his cleverness but being in competitions and being complimented for it? Chanhee THRIVED off it

-Sure, he got compliments from his friends, but mainly they were just confused and scared of his cleverness because no one willingly chose to do maths so Chanhee just shrugged it off

-But mathlete competitions… Chanhee was in his element

-He normally took a back seat, letting his team members take centre stage until they struggled with a question or had a blank moment he just smoothly took over, steering the team back into focus and he couldn’t help but let out a small smile when one of his team members got a question or concept correct when they struggled with it in training

-It’s actually how you met Chanhee, at a mathlete competition

-Except, you weren’t on his team oh no

-You were a captain from another college whom he had a rivalry with ever since you beat him after his team had a winning streak of 15 wins, the longest streak in the history of this competition

-Chanhee was confused at first, considering your team was never on his radar as competition but as soon as you flashed him a smug smile from the opposite side of the room something inside of him snapped

-From that day onwards, you were his rival

-At every competition the two of you did as much as you could to annoy each other, from sending each other glares during the others answer section or to tripping each other in the lunch queue

-Sure it was petty but you and Chanhee knew better than to resort to anything more than that

-Sometimes he could even be nice to you, especially if it was outside the competition

-Once you met him at a guest lecture on the use of statistics in cancer research and he sent you a small smile when you took a seat next to him

-Chanhee just confused you

-He went from being cold and aloof to nice and caring

-You didn’t know how to respond to him in either situation, so you just matched him if not a little more snarky

-For you, these mathlete competitions were your chance to prove yourself amongst your peers who looked down you at first as you were not from a particular academic background and didn’t have the most perfect academic record, which for some reason seemed to matter to some of your peers

-So yeah, even though you weren’t in the same elite as them, maths was the only thing that made sense to you growing up and you quickly grasped concepts that confused a lot of your classmates in high school

-When you got into college on your dream course you were ecstatic but you were soon put down when the snobby kids looked down on you

-So, to get back at them, you “auditioned” for the mathlete club and shocked the entire department when you coolly breezed through the questions without slipping up

-You were accepted onto the team, albeit with a bit of scepticism but when you won them their first competition they quickly warmed up to you, going into your second year of college as the captain of the team

-Going back to Chanhee, the first time you met him was something especially when you surprisingly beat his team and you knew that they were the team to beat

-You were just as shocked as he was when you beat him, causing Chanhee to start being aloof and cold to you at competitions

-So you just retaliated by making snarky comments

-And that’s how your rivalry started

-Every competition just got worse, especially in preparation for the finals

-And unsurprisingly, yours and Chanhee’s teams beat all the others and were the finalists

-The lead up to the competition was brutal, with you and Chanhee grilling your team for hours upon hours in preparation and loads of questions being thrown and tensions running high

-Your team knew that you were just grilling them to prove yourself worthy of being their team captain, and beating Chanhee’s legendary team would be the biggest proof that you were worthy of leading them

-Not that they believed otherwise, they had never gotten to the final beforehand and just getting there was amazing to them

-They also were friendly with Chanhee’s team and knew that he never stopped talking about you, a small frown decorating his face whenever he mumbled out your name in breaks

-And maybe there was a group chat which contained everyone but the two of you in order to get you two together

-Because everyone, and I mean everyone, thought you would be perfect together

-So they decided to organise a mathlete party because believe it or not, the math students know how to throw a party

-And maybe there was going to be a plot to lock the two of you into a cupboard so you would at least talk to each other

-It all just depended on the final and who would win, because if Chanhee won he would be smug and try to rub it in your face whereas if you win, Chanhee would probably sulk but maybe congratulate you

-They were secretly hoping that you would win but with how hard Chanhee has been training his team, you couldn’t be sure

-So when the competition rolls around, you’re uncharacteristically flappable, making mistakes and tripping over your words

-Chanhee couldn’t help but feel a little bit bad for you, but when the competition got going his adrenaline took over and with every mistake you made, he got more confident and slightly more cocky, not bothering to hide his grin as you made yet another easy error and got frustrated with yourself

-In the end, Chanhee’s team won

-You wouldn’t be as angry as you were if you didn’t make as many mistakes as you did but seeing Chanhee’s smug smile as the announcer presented his team with the trophy and the audience cheering for him (you were pretty sure half of them were Chanhee’s friends as they were hollering at him during the entire competition) you couldn’t help but hold back the angry tears that threatened to spill over

-Your team soothed you backstage and decided that you were going to go to the party, getting alcohol in your system and celebrating that this is the first time your college had gotten to the final of the mathlete competition

-You agreed to go, as long as you didn’t have to face Chanhee

-But the universe had different plans for you and before you knew it, you found yourself locked in a cupboard with your rival and your team giggling as they locked the door

-“Chanhee this is your chance!”

-“Y/N just talk to him!”

-“Chanhee, shoot your shot kiddo!”

-You were a bit confused as to what your team and you guess Chanhee’s friends were talking about because as far as you were aware, you didn’t really have much of an opinion of Chanhee

-You could appreciate that he was extremely attractive, especially when he came in with pink hair, but in this low lighted cupboard, you could see the angle of his nose and the way his eyes seemed to sparkle and a small smile tugged at his lips, pulling up at the corners

-Your breath hitched slightly as he took a step closer to you, backing you up against the door

-“C-Chanhee?”

-“You did great today Y/N, shame I was just a bit better” he smirked at you, leaning his hand against the door, trapping you in between him and said door

-You could smell the alcohol on his breath, knowing that you probably weren’t much better with the amount of beers and some shots you did with your team

-“Shut up, we did our best and at least we’re not as cocky as you are when we do win. There’s always next year” you mused

-“Y/N….”

-You looked up into his eyes and there was an unreadable expression in them, briefly glancing at your lips then back into your eyes

-Before you knew it, you were kissing Chanhee, arms snaking around his neck as he wrapped one arm around your waist and pressed you against the door, lips making their way down your neck leaving marks before returning to your lips

-After a few minutes, you pushed him away panting for breath

-“Let’s take this back to my place”

-The two of you ran out of the party hand in hand, stumbling slightly as the fresh air hit your slightly drunk selves as you made your way back to Chanhee’s dorm

-You woke up the next morning, a pounding in your head as you attempted to sit up before promptly flopping back down and hitting something solid

-Oh, that’s what happened last night, you thought to yourself as Chanhee groaned and woke up

-You couldn’t help but blush at the sight of him with a few hickies decorating his neck as he smiled sleepily at you

-Something inside you snapped and you realised that all this time maybe you developed a little crush on the boy you just hooked up with

-“I… uh…. Have to g-go, y-yeah I have a lecture hahah see you later!”

-With that you bolted up and threw on the nearest clothes you could find, cringing at yourself before throwing yourself out of Chanhee’s dorm

-As you left, it took every bit of self restraint to not look back but you could swear you heard Chanhee say your name but you were gone before you could hear anymore

-Running down the stairs, you took the steps two at a time and bumped into someone

-“Y/N?”

-You looked up and saw someone you vaguely recognised, maybe they were someone at the competition yesterday and you winced in pain as you tried to remember but the hangover had fully hit you at this point

-“Isn’t that Chanhee hyung’s jumper?”

-Your eyes widened and your hands flew to pull at the neck of the jumper, hoping to hide the hickies that lay there but instead your actions drew the attention of the few boys that were now gathered and you could see smirks spreading across their faces

-“Uh… no who’s Chanhee hahah?” you laughed out awkwardly, edging away from them

-“Chanhee, mathematics major from this university, has a massive crush on you though has probably only just realised, much like yourself, owner of many tragic jumpers with math puns on, and I know this is Chanhee’s jumper because I bought it for him for his last birthday. I’m Jaehyun by the way, the others are Kevin and Eric. We’re friends of Chanhee’s, and I guess yours now nice to meet you!”

-You blinked at him

-Crush on me??

-You then ran

-Too many thoughts were going round your head as you ran from the unfamiliar building into more unfamiliar territory is when it fully hit you that this wasn’t your campus and you just laughed at yourself

-“Y/N? Jaehyun said you didn’t know where you were going… I hope this isn’t too much but I just wanted to make sure you were okay?” you turned to find Chanhee, pink hair all tousled and a pyjama shirt thrown over his track pants

-You couldn’t help but smile at his figure as he approached you, gently taking your face in his hands

-“Can I kiss you Y/N?”

-“Do you even like me Chanhee? Because I just realised 10 minutes ago that I really like you and probably have ever since I first saw you and I want to kiss you I really want to but I need to know if your friend was lying or not because he said you had feelings for me but no one has feelings for a maths nerd, especially one like m-“

-You were cut off with a pair of soft lips pressing against yours and you found yourself sinking into the kiss

-It was over all too quickly, chasing Chanhee’s lips as he broke away from you

-“Y/N I’m as serious as Euler’s equation for spheres, but if that’s enough I do think Pythagoras’s theorem is kinda sexy” he said with a straight face

-You couldn’t help but laugh before leaning back in for another kiss

-”Say, don’t you have a lecture to go to?” Chanhee asked you, forehead resting on yours

“I made that up, let’s go back to bed”

-DATING CHANHEE

-Okay so, Jaehyun, Kevin and Eric saw this whole interaction and immediately snapped photos to send all over campus

-You weren’t even mad because hello, you had Chanhee ??

-Dating Chanhee resulted in very weird dates, including ones where he got you tickets to a special lecture on some mathematical breakthrough which to most people would be their idea of hell but you just screamed and thanked him profusely

-Yeah it was quite an unconventional relationship, especially because you didn’t go to the same college so dates were rare as your schedules didn’t really match up

-But you could often be found chilling on Chanhee’s campus grounds, your head in his lap as you were an in depth conversation about Einstein’s theory of special relativity, his fingers running through your hair as you posed a question at him

-When he didn’t know the answer he just kissed you, which never failed to fluster you and forget your question for a bit

-Oh, you two DEFINITELY go to science museums because even though you weren’t science majors, you loved space and Chanhee loved you and geeked out a bit at old computers and technology

-Occasionally some of Chanhee’s friends tagged along for an “educational” trip but they just wanted to see you two in action

-What they didn’t account for was you two ganging up on an unsuspecting Eric, Hwall and Sunwoo and giving them an actual tour and information about each aspect of the museum much to their horror

-You couldn’t help but laugh into Chanhee’s shoulder as the kids finally got to sit down at the café and complained about your tour

-Chanhee just held your hand and laughed along with you, amused by the kids trying to get him to buy them the most expensive menu

-One thing you didn’t know about Chanhee was that he worked many part time jobs, and you definitely didn’t expect him to work at a restaurant you went to with your mathlete team and he flirted with you in front of the entire team

-Oh, and he worked at the print shop near your campus, and the convenience store near your dorm, and occasionally took shifts at the science museum café

-You asked one day as you were lying in bed together why he worked so many part time jobs when he was so busy with college and mathletes and dating

-He just shrugged and said that he liked the work and growing up he didn’t have a lot of money so he wanted to help his family out and if he could pay for his own tuition then it was last thing for his parents to worry about

-Your grip on his hands tightened as he explained this, sensing that it was still a sensitive subject for him

-And if you found yourself frequenting all of his part time jobs by “accident” and end up staying for his entire shift to keep him company and you liked to flirt with him, especially in his barista uniform because he looked really cute

-You told him about your childhood, never being accepted for enjoying and being good at maths, even by your classmates at college, and your mom being less than supportive because what could you do with a mathematics degree

-Chanhee pulled you in for a hug, pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head, giving you reassurances as you explained that your mom doesn’t talk to you anymore because you went to college instead of joining her in the family business

-You and Chanhee definitely share his wardrobe as you loved to be buried in his oversized sweaters and t-shirts with bad science and maths puns on

-Hwall just rolled his eyes every time he saw you in Chanhee’s hideous lime green jumper with a “find x” meme on it but seeing Chanhee’s face whenever you wore his clothes he couldn’t help but smile a little

-Thanks to you, Chanhee was a lot more open with his friendship group and loosened up with them a whole lot more which they ADORED

-Not to mention, you adored Eric and Eric adored you, latching onto you at every opportunity as Chanhee chased Younghoon with a maths textbook after he insulted the Pythagoras theorem

-However, if Chanhee caught Eric clinging onto you for longer than necessary or too tightly well… let’s just say Chanhee has a jealous streak and will pull Eric off you before dragging you off somewhere to make out whilst Chanhee protested that he wasn’t jealous in between kisses to which you just rolled your eyes at him

-Make out sessions are pretty frequent, mainly because you didn’t spend a lot of time together and facetime sessions just weren’t the same

-The boys walked on you way too many times making out, at parties, in his dorm, in the LIBRARY?!

-Chanhee didn’t care, he just wanted a kiss and what Chanhee wants, he gets (but only if you want to of course, he wasn’t going to pressure you into it)

-All in all, dating Chanhee is a whole nerd-filled, math ridden and quirky mess and you were perfect for each other

-It always hit you how much you loved Chanhee whenever you spent time together, the sun hitting his cheekbones as he smiled at you or when he fell asleep during the Empire Strikes Back and he snuggles closer to you or he’s just studying in his room with you there studying alongside him

-“Chanhee, I adore you”

-“You can say you love me, Y/N, I won’t freak out”

-“Unlike last time?”

-“Yeah... sorry about that”

-“Come here and kiss me”

College AU! Jacob Bae

-Major: history of art

-Minor: none

-Sports: star basketball player, also occasionally plays for the volleyball team when he can

-Clubs: not an active member in any club but breezes his way through many, he went to reading club for a time bc they were discussing Murakami, went to painting club bc Kevin wanted someone to go with him so he ended up going, but he’s part of an acoustic band with Kevin and Sangyeon and they perform late night sets in coffee shops and bars around the university area

-Many people often wonder why Jacob studies history of art when he could have easily entered college on a sports scholarship but quite simply, Jacob didn’t want to have to rely on doing well academically to make sure his college tuition was being funded and would much rather prefer to do it on his own

-Basketball was one of his favourite pastimes, loving nothing more than being on the court and feeling the adrenaline rush through him

-But art invoked a passion within him

-It reminded him of going on class trips to the museum and being absolutely floored by the Botticelli paintings and Ming pottery that decorated the rooms, it reminded him of going to New York and Paris with his parents so he could see the famous modern art scene of New York and the classic sculptures and the Louvre

-Simply put, art was life to Jacob

-He loved nothing more than visiting museums and galleries, feeling absolutely inspired and awed by the way the artist could evoke so much emotion in one painting or sculpture or drawing

-Except…. Jacob couldn’t really do art himself so that’s why he opted for history of art

-(it also meant he could annoy Kevin, a fine art major, with “boring” facts about Kevin’s favourite artists or time periods for art)

-He was beyond thrilled when he got a placement to work part time in a local art gallery that supported the new and upcoming artists in the area, giving guided talks or sometimes even presentations on new pieces that came in

-He’s just an enthusiastic boy when it comes to showing off art

-Jacob seems quite quiet in class though, always towards the back of the room taking notes diligently as most of his fellow classmates fell asleep in their laptops or were blinking rapidly to stop themselves from falling asleep

-He never really answered the questions the professors asked, much preferring if someone else answered them or just prayed that they never picked on him

-Only speak when spoken to was Jacob’s mantra in lectures

-Seminars and tutorials were where Jacob thrived, shyly giving out his opinion on northern European portraiture or discussing the Quattrocento period with his tutor after the rest of his peers had left

-Jacob could often be seen with a nice thick tome on Hellenistic art, glasses threatening to slip down his nose as he devoured the knowledge that lay on the pages, thick jumper with the sleeves rolled up and a coffee that was slowly losing its’ heat as Jacob was too busy learning about Lysippus, Apelles and Pyrgoteles and highlighting his favourite passages

-He was just the epitome of nerdy art history student and so many people in the art department were shocked to learn that he was the same Jacob Bae that led the college’s basketball to national victory amongst all the colleges in the country

-They just couldn’t fathom that their precious, quiet art history student was the same one who was arguably the best point guard player in the college leagues

-It was just a crazy concept to them

-So when a few of Jacob’s classmates decided to go to one of his basketball games to see whether he was lying or not, they were in actual shock as he flew around the court, stealing the ball so quickly that if you blinked you probably missed it and even occasionally scoring hoops if he could get a clear skill

-Most notably though, he could assess the opposition and quickly figure out their strengths and weaknesses, leading his team to victory as he navigated the game

-His classmates found him afterwards and asked just how he could be so different and he just shyly explained that he uses his analysis skills he gained from studying art pieces and just applied it to observing real life situations

-Who said that art history didn’t have real world applications??

-They couldn’t deny that though

-Jacob is EXTREMELY attentive and observational

-He can almost instantly know how one of his friends is feeling through even a text, a small frown decorating his features as he receives a “:)” from Sunwoo after he knows the younger has just submitted an assignment and he’s almost instantly by Sunwoo’s side, wrapping the boy in a hug whispering sweet nothings into his ears or just rubbing soothing circles on his back

-He never pushes his friends to tell him what’s up, knowing that they most certainly don’t want to open up fresh wounds so he just sits them down with a cup of tea and sits with them until they want to talk to him

-Jacob really is an angel, just his presence can calm and soothe his friends whatever mood they’re in

-They’re always so grateful for him, showering him in praise and Jacob just blushes and protests this because he thinks it’s just normal

-They’re also his biggest supporters at his basketball matches, all with boards with his name on (created by his roommate, Kevin) and creating chants that they all screamed from the bleachers, fully embarrassing him as he leads his team to yet another victory

-When they all run down after the team wins and crush him into a big hug, he can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of love as he’s surrounded by his best friends

-So just how do you meet basketball star and art history student Jacob Bae?

-Funnily enough, you’re kinda friends/acquaintances with him

-You see you’re actually a fine art major and just happen to be best friends with Kevin

-Too many times you’ve been dragged by the wrist by Kevin, letting yourself be taken by the enigmatic boy as he blabbered on about some art exhibition or something

-Occasionally Jacob is also dragged along with you, always shooting you a soft smile as you both endure Kevin’s outlandish behaviour as he wonders whether it would be illegal to cartwheel in front of the Mona Lisa

-You’ve never really spoken to Jacob though, just exchanging a few shy greetings or just shaking of the heads as you try and stop Kevin from running his mouth too much

-The thing is, you actually have a gigantic crush on him and Kevin was the one to figure it out

-The first time you saw Jacob was when Kevin had dragged you to the first basketball game of the season in your first year of college, saying that his best friend is on the team and that you should come along

-Sports were never your thing growing up, being your very typical art student who had no coordination and too many memories of footballs and basketballs being thrown in your direction and ultimately hitting you, but you could never refuse Kevin anything and especially not when he was already leading you to the bleachers and before you knew it you were surrounded by his rowdy friends with boards with a name decorated all over them

-Jacob?? This must be Kevin’s best friend, you thought as you took a seat next to a pink haired boy who seemed to be a bit confused as to why he was there

-(in the break of the game, you learned this was Chanhee and he really didn’t get sports but he was friends with Jacob so he went even though he could’ve been studying some advance algebra for an upcoming mathlete competition)

-However, as much as you were trying to focus on the game, your eyes kept being drawn to a silver haired boy that darted around the court, your jaw dropped slightly as he stole the ball off an opposing player and nimbly passing it to his teammate who then scored

-You literally couldn’t take your eyes off him, the way he moved so effortlessly and pushed his hair back and the brilliant smile that came every time his team scored

-All in all, you were just a bit more than taken with the boy

-Unbeknownst to you, Kevin had noticed the way you were so enraptured with a certain silver haired player and a wicked plan formed in his head

-After the game, Kevin dragged you to meet his best friend and pulled you towards the silver haired player

-Except he tugged you a little too hard, a little too fast and you tripped over your own feet, right in front of your newest crush

-Wincing, you heard a soft gasp and a hand wrapped around yours and tugged you upwards and you were suddenly face to face with the silver haired boy

-“Are you okay? You fell pretty hard, no thanks to Kevin” he asked you, concern evident in his eyes

-“Y-you know Kevin?” you asked, not even bothering to answer his question even though your knees were throbbing slightly

-“Unfortunately, he’s my best mate and roommate,” he laughed out, “but are you okay though?”

-Falling (literally) for your best friend’s other best friend and roommate was never in your agenda but here you were, deep into your second year of college and still not having made a move on him much to Kevin and the rest of your friends disappointment

-You just… didn’t know how to approach Jacob and explain that you have this massive crush on him and you want to go on lots of romantic dates to the movies and art galleries and you want to kiss him under the stars or after he wins another basketball game and that every time he smiles you get butterflies in your stomach and his laugh is like music to your ears and the fact that he can sing and play guitar as well means he’s pretty much perfect boyfriend material

-Kevin just rolls his eyes every time you wax lyrical about every single little thing you could point out about Jacob, snorting a little when you say he’s literally a perfect gentleman when he sees Jacob threaten Eric after he steals Jacob’s prized cereal and then consequently hitting the youngest three members of the group as the other two proceed to steal ALL of Jacob’s cereal

-Kevin’s been trying to get the two of you together for the past year and is so close to bashing your heads together and confessing for the both of you bc lo and behold, he knows that Jacob has a giant crush on you

-Though much more guarded about it, Kevin’s come to recognise the soft smile that graces his best friend’s face after you say goodbye to him and lingers for a while afterwards or the way his head perks up when Kevin is telling a story about what happened in his art class today and Jacob hadn’t truly been paying attention until Kevin says your name

-So, after a year of pining and the final match of the season coming up soon, Kevin decides enough is enough and calls an intervention

-Jacob isn’t entirely sure who the intervention is for, despite his amazing observation skills, until Changmin literally blurts out that everyone in this room knows he has an embarrassingly big, but cute, crush on you and he has to confess because everyone is sick of seeing the two of you dance around each other and you’re not even taking dance!

-Jacob just blinks and is like

-“How does everyone know?”

-And Kevin just rolls his eyes before darting his hand up in the air and proudly announcing that he did and he knows that you have a huge crush on Jacob and begins to rattle off an entire confession plan but quite honestly Jacob’s brain short wired after Kevin said that he knew you liked him

-“Hyung…. Are you even listening?”

-“T-they like me??”

-Everyone just groans and is like Y E S now game plan point break !

-Basically, as much as you’d think that 12 boys crammed together in a tiny dorm room would be able to think of a decent confession plan (especially with Younghoon being a film major and likes writing stories) they most definitely think of the most cliché confession

-It was simple: confess and kiss you right after he wins the game next Saturday

-Jacob… doesn’t really like this plan but decides to go along with it bc quite frankly, he doesn’t have any other way to confess considering it’s taken him this long to even think he had a chance

-He quietly confesses to Kevin that night that maybe a public confession won’t be good for either of them, knowing that the two of your are quite shy and Jacob thinks it would be extremely overwhelming if he confesses to you with the whole school watching

-Kevin, sensing Jacob’s distress for this kind of confession, just suggests that maybe he should write you a song because you love sappy romantic gestures and you love him even more when he sings and well, that inspires something in Jacob who instantly sits up and reaches for his guitar

-In the end, it only takes Jacob a few hours to write the song and a whole week of nerves to be able to gather the courage to sing it to you and pestering Kevin to bring his guitar to the game so he can confess afterwards

-So, game day

-You’re nervously sat watching the game, eyes never leaving Jacob as you notice he makes a few uncharacteristic mistakes and you can see he’s getting frustrated with himself

-During half-time, you decide to go down to him to offer some words of encouragement and he looks surprised to see you standing over him (the rest of the boyz can’t believe how forward you are but right now, you’re too concerned for Jacob than you are for their eyebrow wiggles and hooting)

-“J-jacob?? I-i just wanted to let you know that you, uh, pray, I mean play, brilliantly and uh, it’s not much, b-but I can see that you’re getting kinda frustrated with yourself and I just w-wanted to say that you’re doing great and, ah, you’re doing me, I mean the school, proud and y-yeah that’s all” you stuttered out, hands wringing together nervously and a blush spreading across your face as you tried to make eye contact with Jacob

-Who just smiles and lets out a sigh of relief

-“Thank you”

-“It’s nothing r-really haha”

-If you’re not busy after the game, meet me afterwards?”

-You just kinda nod and smile at him, trying to figure out the words to say when the referee calls for the next half to start and Jacob stands up, pulling you in for a quick hug before running onto the court

-Well, you just malfunction and are pretty much frozen for the rest of the game, not knowing how you got back up to the boys and endured Eric and Hyunjoon’s teasing

-But you’re entranced as you watch Jacob fly around the court with a fire burning you’d never really seen in him before and naturally so, he passes the last ball of the game to his teammate who shoots it perfectly, resulting in the winning of the championship going to Jacob’s team and you can’t help but cheer along, hugging Eric in celebration

-You just sit in the bleachers as the rest of the crowd disperses out and you’re waiting for Jacob who’s packing his gym bag

-Once he’s finished, he smiles up at you and waves you down to sit with him on the bottom row of seats

-You don’t notice it at first but when you sit down, you realise Jacob has a guitar in his hands and suddenly he stood up, playing and singing at you

-It’s not a song you recognise, leading to you believe that he wrote it and as you listen closely they resemble a confession song

-Which…. Confuses you because why is Jacob singing this to you ?? you’re pretty much clueless

-And it’s not until he finishes the song and he pulls you up by the hand and says “I really like you, I think you like me, may I kiss you?” that you realise that yes, Jacob really is saying this to you and you lean towards him and press a soft kiss on his lips, more smile than anything else

-DATING JACOB:

-Well, it’s not going to stay a secret for long especially since Kevin runs back onto the court and SCREECHES that you two are finally together and the rest of the boyz come running in to congratulate you, Sangyeon just looking on tiredly before sincerely congratulating the two of you and that he hopes you’re happy together whilst Jaehyun and Juyeon are cartwheeling round the court yelling “JACOB AND Y/N SITTING IN A TREE K-I-S-S-I-N-G” before Sangyeon drags them out by the ear

-So yeah, everyone finds out in the next few hours but you’re not mad

-I mean, you did score one of the most sought out after guys on campus and even better, you’re the one who gets to kiss him after each game

-But most importantly, you can go on all those romantic dates you had dreams about over the past year

-The amount of art galleries and museum dates the two of you go on is crazy but to you they’re perfect

-One, you get to spend more time with your handsome boyfriend and two, you get to study and be surrounded by one of the things that you and Jacob both love

-You can bet your favourite acrylic paint that you and Jacob share so many things about art together

-Jacob LOVES and I mean, LOVES, to teach you about different art periods and their influence on modern art today whilst you help him paint or draw and laugh at his attempts at recreating his favourite sculpture

-Oh, and you both definitely go on art dates where you get to paint together or do a pottery class together, laughing as Jacob somehow manages to get clay EVERYWHERE whilst you’re calmly sat moulding the pot together

-Jacob just pouts as he breaks his fourth pot and you let him decorate yours before making him one that he can brag to the boyz that he made

-(They don’t believe him bc you sent them all snapchats of Jacob being covered in clay after he kept messing up)

-But you love spending time like this together, it feels so authentic and romantic to the both of you

-Especially when you have more than just photos to remember those dates together but actual, physical things that you can hang up on your walls or put on your desk and reminisce at night

-More often than not, you found yourself in Kevin and Jacob’s dorm, head resting on Jacob’s chest as he’s doing some reading for his Ming pottery class and reading the book out loud to you as you loved nothing more than just hearing his voice

-Which Kevin found disgustingly romantic and not at all to his taste so he left the dorm to go bother Jaehyun or Chanhee

-You just giggle as he huffs and loudly complains about love whilst Jacob just rolls his eyes at his best friends antics, secretly glad that it worked bc he really wanted some alone time with you

-After he leaves Jacob places the book on his bedside table and you’re confused until Jacob rolls you over so you’re underneath and you’re like… o h so this is what you wanted??

-And Jacob just shyly smiles before pressing a kiss to the underside of your jaw and you sigh happily

-And when Kevin returns later that night and you’re still there and he can see the hickies blooming on both of your necks he just shrieks and Jacob nearly throws his book at him bc he just woke you up out of your nap

-Study dates are a big thing with you two, more often than not you’re in a café or the library with a stack of books whilst Jacob is typing an essay out and you’re peacefully sketching or planning an art piece or even doing an analysis of a painting

-Just imagine Jacob with his curly hair all messed up because he’s been running his fingers through it, a pair of glasses perched on his nose and a fluffy sweater on typing away as you watch on with his hoodie on and charcoal smudges on your nose after you rubbed it

-It’s just a very wholesome relationship, shy smiles and sweet notes being left in textbooks or sketchbooks, the smell of coffee and flowers and paint all mingling together as you walk hand in hand and you finally get to kiss him under the stars as you take a walk along the river one night

-You still can’t quite believe you’re dating the star basketball player but nothing assures you more when his hand is splayed across your back and he’s pulling you closer for a kiss, laughing when he spins you around under the stars and you think that life maybe can’t get better than this

-Jacob to you, is perfection and you fall in love with him just a little bit more everyday

Playground date with Felix

So, one of Felix’s favourite places to take you on a date is to a park

You don’t know why but he loves visiting them with you

Maybe it’s because he can finally expel all his energy without the risk of breaking something valuable

Or maybe he just wants fresh air, but he adores it

It could also be due to the convenience store food you always pick up on the way

He has an insatiable sweet tooth, so you rarely carry actual food

More like sweets and ice creams and maybe some blue drinks because “Blue is always the best flavour” (I stand by that)

At first you didn’t agree but now you’ll defend blue drinks with your life (mainly because Felix loves it when someone else defends his choice and you’ll do anything to see him smile)

Anyway, on to the actual date

It always starts out the same, with you both picking up food and heading to the nearest park

Even walking to the park, itself is an event because it feels like it’s been forever since you two have seen each other (really, it’s been like 3 days at most?)

And the streets you walk down are filled with your combined laughter and squeals as Felix suddenly hoists you over his shoulder screaming how his baby shouldn’t have to walk

No matter how loud you both are, onlookers can’t help but smile at the two of you walking down the street with contagious smiles, so obviously in love

When you guys finally reach the park it’s slowly becoming sunset and honestly this is Felix’s favourite time to go because;

1) Children tend to not be around as its on the verge of getting dark and he likes when it’s just the two of you, if feels more intimate somehow

And 2) He loves the way the lowering sun hits your skin and reflects in your eyes, he thinks it’s the most breathtaking site in the world

But of course, he doesn’t tell you the second reason because thoughts like that are exclusively for your late-night talks

A N Y W A Y

After Felix swiftly kicks open the gate to the playground (it’s taken many attempts to master this and honestly the amount of times you’ve been dropped on your head is…….worrying) he finally sets you down

He’s already beaming at this point because here you both are, in his favourite place to be with his favourite person

And before you can say anything, he’s already dragging you off to the first thing he wants to do today which is the “exercise” equipment

It’s always exciting for you because Felix constantly changes the order of things he wants to go on

And you always follow his lead because boy knows what he wants and you’re happy to just spend time with him

As y’all reach the exercise stuff Felix slings his bag on the floor and is already getting on that contraption that flips you almost upside down??

It causes you to laugh because of all the exercise stuff this one is his favourite

He’ll stay on it for as long as possible which is never good cause all the blood rushes to his head and he gets super dizzy

But even when he feels like he’s going to throw up he’s got his signature smile across his lips

And boy does that make you melt even more than already, in fact so much you don’t register Felix dragging you off to the next thing he wants

Which is the weird machine that you stand and twist on

Luckily there are two that face each other so you both get on and twist and make funny faces at each other

His eyes crinkle when he laughs really hard at you pulling your worst face and has to stop twisting because if he can’t see what he’s doing probably going to fall

And that brings relief to you because honestly you were on the verge of getting a cramp in your side from the laughing and the exercise

You both stand there until Felix has finally calmed down and you’re happy because it gives you a chance to admire him

How the sunlight hits his golden skin and grazes across his freckles

How it gives his hair, in fact his whole body a soft glow behind him

And when he finally opens his eyes how it gives his pupils a look of golden flecks

Honestly in that moment you feel so lucky and he looks so ethereal you lose your breath for a second

But you’re knocked out of your daze by Felix nudging your arm and telling you he wants to race to the roundabout.

And by that, I mean he’s already running off while yelling at you that it’s a race, leaving his bag in the dust

You just laugh and pick up his bag and run after him as fast as you can

Obviously with the amount of energy he has you don’t catch up, but he appreciates you even entertained the idea with his head start

Rolling your eyes, you stop in front of him and gently place his bag on the ground

To which his eyes widen, and he just says “No wonder I felt so light. Sorry babe” followed by a sheepish grin

His statement is just met with a laugh before you stand on the roundabout, saying he can push you round in return

To which he happily obliges, telling you to hold on tightly and just as your hands grip onto the metal poles he starts pushing

He gets carried away easily and before he realises it he’s pushing really fast and is met by your squeals of his name

Part of him doesn’t want to stop because he loves the way his name sounds when it leaves your lips

He might even say it’s his favourite sound it the world, but he had an even better idea

He lets the roundabout slow down to a decent pace and as you pass by, he jumps onto the section where you stand, placing his arms either side of you and letting that sheepish grin return before saying hi

You chuckle as he looks at you and nudge him, asking him what he’s staring at to which he just shrugs and says “You know the date started ages ago and I still have yet to kiss you”

As he says those words you don’t realise that he’s slowly closing the distance between your faces and one arm has removed itself from the pole and set itself around your waist

You respond by bringing a hand to his face and gently swiping your thumb across his cheeks and the next thing you know; his lips are softly pressed against yours

Felix has a unique way of kissing you

It’s filled with extraordinary amounts of emotion but at the same time it’s so delicate, almost as if he’s afraid he could break you

You don’t realise the roundabout has finally come to a stop until he slowly pulls away from you and mumbles “God I’ve missed you”

And he knows it hasn’t been long but being here with you in this perfect moment makes it feel like it was an eternity when he was away from you

However, there are still more things to play with so Felix hops off the roundabout and offers you his hand

You take it and step off, interlocking your fingers as he picks up his bag and leads you to the swings, twirling you once or twice to evoke laughter from you yet again

Once you reach the swings Felix sets his bag down and sits on a swing, still holding your hand, waiting for you to sit on the swing next to him

As you sit down, you expect him to let go of your hand but he’s fully attached now so he’s not letting go

So, you both gently swing together, still holding hands and talking about the events that had happened to you that day

After a while of talking Felix notices the last stretch of natural light is coming to an end and has an idea

He lets go of your hand and tells you to go a bit harder on the swing before standing in front of you

Of course, you oblige simply because you’re curious for what he needed you to do it for

So, you swung forward a little harder and you were met with a soft and quick kiss on the lips

As you swung back you noticed the goofy smile on his face as he wiggled his eyebrows at you before you met him for another

You continued to swing forward, each time being met with a kiss and every time you swung back you were met with a funny face causing you to laugh, much as you had throughout the rest of the date

What you didn’t notice was Felix pulling out his phone so when you swung back, he could snap a picture of you

And boy did he get the perfect picture, the dim light hitting your face that was filled with happiness and laughter as your head was slightly tilted back

He could stare at this picture for hours, and honestly, he probably would

It would be his new lock screen and you can bet he would show all the guys

But for now, showing them would have to wait as the sun had set and the final activity on your date must be carried out

When you stopped swinging Felix once again picked up his bag, took your hand and let you over to a metal climbing structure

It was routine for you two to end your time together and truth be told, it was your favourite part of the date

Slowly you both climbed to the top of the (not so high) structure and found a suitable place for you both to rest

Felix took the bag off his back and put rested it next to him, finally opening it and unpacking all the sweets and drinks you had bought.

You opened your phone and went into your music library and selected the list “Night talks” then locked it and placed it on top of the bag

And that’s how your night continued

Eating sweets, talking about anything and everything you could think of

Aliens, conspiracy theories, family, the boys, debates about the best member of the Wiggles, you know, the usual

No topic remained untouched from the two of you sat there, holding hands and loudly stating your opinions in attempts to make your time together last as long as possible

After hours had passed and many phone calls from worried friends had been missed you both decided that it was time to go

Mainly because Felix needed sleep before practice tomorrow but you alerted Chan that Felix would be walking you home and he said the manager would drive to yours to pick Felix up

So you both walked back to your apartment, hand in hand, occasionally stopping to pet a dog or look at something in a shop window

But when you finally reached your destination, his manager already waiting, you pulled him in for one final kiss

Thanking him for evening you two had spent together, telling him it was indeed one of you favourites

Causing a grin to spread across his face again before swooping in for one last kiss, mumbling on your lips “I love you”

Which caused a smile to grace your lips as you responded before he ran off to his waiting manager to take him back to the dorms, where he would not stop smiling and gushing about your date

Overall Felix is a soft boy who wants to go to the playground and have fun and be free while giving you kisses and making you laugh because you’re his world
