One of my frequent and loved destinations is @samuielephanthaven. They have little Haven as you see here, Luna, their newest baby, Moloair and Nong Peche, my little peas, as I call them. They have Plai Bang the magnificent tusker, Aom, Somboon, Sri Nuan and a little bull whose name is Perm Poon. They have a total of 19 rescued elephants. Khun Maew and his family work very hard to maintain and feed their elephants. They do a wonderful job. Samui Elephant Haven is located in Southern Thailand. Koh Samui has been devastated by Covid as it relies on tourism. I have very close ties to Thailand and I deeply care and worry about Thailand’s magnificent greys. Some are not as lucky as the rescued herd at #samuielephanthaven. Some elephants at the riding camps remain idle and chained. Front feet hobbled and one back leg chained day and night as there is no longer work for them. It’s heartbreaking and it hurts. Riding elephants and bathing with elephants means a hard life for these working elephants, now, for some, their lives are reduced to chains or I believe are being sold into illegal logging. I know so many of you care and so many of you are helping and donating to various causes that need your help and I thank you. So I’m going to be upfront here and ask you if you would consider making a donation @samuielephanthaven to give a helping hand to feed their 19 elephants.
