Can't wait to see what the Etbauers come up with next.

They have Grit Wes and Flint Billy. I wonder if they're specifically looking for stone and mineral words, or just single syllables. I've tried to round up possibilities that fit both criteria.

Some (less than serious) possibilities for future Wikstrom Etbaurers:

The real interesting question is what they'll do for girls. The folks I know who like these single syllable boy names (the kind that sound more like dog names than people names) tend to prefer long and feminine girl names. Will they still want to use mineral names? I'm intrigued.

Name Predictions for Wikstrom-Etbauer #2

On August 3rd, 2022, Grace (Wikstrom) and Kord Etbauer announced they were expecting their second son together, due in early November 2022. Grace is a close friend of Claire (Spivey) Duggar, the wife of Justin Duggar. The couple welcomed their first son, Grit Wes Etbauer, on either November 5 or November 6, 2021. This means that the couple’s two sons will be only 12 months apart!

Previous Naming Information

Because this is only the couple’s second child, we don’t have a ton of naming information available. All we know is the name of the couple’s first son, Grit Wes Etbauer. It does help that this second child is also a boy, so the style may be more consistent than if it was a girl. Based just on Grit’s name (and Kord’s), it seems that they lean into a country-rancher-redneck-tough-guy naming style. While I hate it, it does seem to fit their personality as a couple. Kord is the son of a rodeo cowboy, is frequently seen wearing cowboy hats, and loves to hunt and fish. I am expecting a similar “country macho” name for their second son. If the first name is southern cowboy, the middle name may be more western rancher.

Preliminary Predictions

This is a prediction that is going to not be very based on hard data at all, but rather intuition and vibes. I’m just going to make a list of some names that I think incorporate the same feel as Grit. I will pay special attention to names that are also nouns, one-syllable, and/or begin with G. Gracie and Kord have not said if they are doing a “G” theme, but I could see them doing that, especially with her name starting with a G. Or perhaps, they will go the Waller route and have boys’ names start with G and girls’ names start with K.

My Final Predictions

Do I have to pick one at all? I think I have a pretty good list that encapsulates their style. It is just very different from my own. Even though I have quite a few two-syllable names listed, I do think the name is probably going to be one syllable. I think my top 5 choices are Stone, Colt/Kolt, Gray/Grey, Boone, and Rowdy. I will include more two-syllable names in my top 10 down below though.

If I had to pick just one though, I’m going with Gray/Grey. I feel like Grace and Kord are definitely the type to do super-duper matchy names for their kids. Or maybe I’m just being optimistic because that’s one of the least bad names on the list IMO.

As for the middle, I’m going with Lee or Wyatt, depending on the first name choice. They are both pretty cohesive with Wes for different reasons. I’ll include a list of ten possible first and middle name combos down below.

I don't know if anybody follows Grace Etbauer (née Wikstrom) but she just had a baby named Grit. Yes.. Grit. I know her family and the Spivey family are friends and Claire was a bridesmaid and Justin was a groomsmen at the wedding last year on Dec 19 after only getting engaged on Nov 26 and I think only after starting to court in September. Which I thought was just such peak fundie that I started following her. She doesn't post super often but now she and her husband (Kord) have a baby named Grit. Poor child. (kkranch96 is her mother, Kristi Wikstrom, she also used the hashtag on her post #fillingourquiverwitharrows 👀👀).

If Katey is Pregnant w/ #29…

If Jed + Katey are, in fact, expecting the elusive 29th GrandDuggar, they’re way early, and they'll be setting a truly incredible pace. Also, their Pregnancy Announcement is really late, based on the timing of their 1st Pregnancy Reveal—but not yet late, based on family data.

Joy (Duggar) Forsyth is currently pregnant with GrandDuggar #30. She’s due on May 23, 2023. If Jed + Katey are expecting #29, then Katey's Due Date must be before Joy's. (We can be fairly certain of this. Katey had True on his Due Date, while Gideon and Evy arrived just 1 Day Late and 2 Days Late, respectively. So, there's no reason for us to think Jim Bob might be thinking, like: "Yes, Katey is due a day or two after Joy, but Joy is always really late, so Katey probably will deliver first.") She'd be due on May 22, 2023, at the latest.

Using May 22, 2023 as Katey’s Due Date, the Predictor thinks she'll once again give birth on that Due Date. Currently, Duggar–Nakatsu #2 isn't expected until August 22, 2024. Doing the math... Katey + Jed would be 458 Days (15 Months) and 2.56 SDs Early, if Katey is due on May 22nd. That's in the 92nd Percentile. And that's if she's due on May 22nd; if she's due earlier, it'd be even faster!

Just to hammer this home... That'd be a short spacing. Like, short. Really short. Counting from May 2, 2022 (Truett's DOB) to May 22, 2023, it's just 385 Days (1 Year, 3 Weeks). Even among the top, top producing Predictor Couples, that is extremely fast. Going off Non–Firstborn, Non–Post–Loss Child Spacings, with adjustment for any unexpected, unlikely to recur prematurity (e.g., Josie D.), Truett–to–Baby #2 would be beaten only by 11 Child Spacings. And, that's out of 500(!) Spacings, across my entire spreadsheet. Here's the list—

If Katey was due on May 22, 2023, her prior data indicates that she and Jed would've announced on September 25, 2022. As of today, November 4, 2022, their Baby News would be 40 Days Late. (And, they announced True at Day 41—so, they're already 98% Later than last time.) If we were to use the Overall Duggar data, however, they wouldn't actually be late to announce, at all. They'd be expected to announce at 94 Days Among, on November 17, 2022.

If Duggar–Nakatsu arrives on May 22, 2023, 385 Days after Truett, Jed + Katey's Baseline Procreative Pace (PP) would be 385 Days, which trails just 1 Couple—Gracie (Wikstrom) + Kord Etbauer (366 Days). Their Age–Adjusted Procreative Pace (AAPP), from <25 to >40, would be just 385–508 Days (12.6–16.7 Months). And finally, their ESOQ would be 14 Children, which is 6 Children / 75% More than the Predictor currently thinks they'll have. That's a lot!

Duggar Data thinks Duggar–Nakatsu #2 is probably GrandDuggar #31 or #32, or something. Not #29. But, we'll see! If it is #29, it's unexpected, although not unprecedented, and Jed + Katey will be the Duggar Couple to watch re: Procreative Pace.

Etbauer–Wikstrom #2 is Here!

There wasn't an official Birth Announcement, but Etbauer–Wikstrom #2 is here! Today (November 10, 2022), Kord spilled the beans when he posted a video to his Instagram Story, showing him and Gracie "at the pediatrician with [their] new little one."

No information yet on Baby's name; however, we know it's a boy.

Grace was still pregnant on the 6th, so he must've arrived sometime between November 7—10, 2022. Duggar Data will use November 7, 2022 as an Estimated DOB, for now. I've chosen that date because, after a bit of Googling, I learned that it's typical to schedule Baby's 1st Pediatrician Appointment within 3—5 Days of birth. Here, that would correspond to a DOB of November 5—7, 2022. Since we know Grace was still pregnant on the evening of November 6th, it makes sense to go with November 7th as the estimate.

Based on that Estimated DOB, Grace + Kord's Procreative Pace (PP) is 366 Days, w/ an Age–Adjusted Proceative Pace (AAPP) of 366—488 Days. Currently, they are the fastest Predictor Couple. Even w/ Gracie's Fertility Cut–Off at 40 Years Old, their ESOQ is 16 Children.

We can expect Pregnancy Announcement #3 on July 12, 2023, and Etbauer–Wikstrom #3 on November 8, 2023. (Yes, that is less than a year from now. No, it's not a typo.)

Gracie Enters The 3rd Trimester!

Due November 3–9, 2022, with an Approximate Due Date (ADD) of November 6th, Grace (Wikstrom) Etbauer is 28 Weeks Along—and thus, in the 3rd Trimester of her 2nd Pregnancy.

ICYMI—Grace Ann ("Gracie") (Wikstrom) Etbauer, 23, is a friend of Claire (Spivey) Duggar and Joy (Duggar) Forsyth. She married Kord Etbauer in December 2020, after a 23–Day Engagement. They had their 1st Child—a son, named "Grit"—in Early November 2021. Their sons will be 12 Months Apart.

Gracie + Kord's Families, especially hers, are heavily involved in ATI / ALERT. Kord's Father is also a literal rodeo cowboy. Grace's Brother, Devin, is married to an Andregg Daughter. (The Andreggs have been linked to the Duggars via Jason, and Bateses via Warden.)
