The only S3 opening I accept is Izzy literally clawing out of the grave, yelling: 'None of you absolute TWATS bothered to check for a pulse??'
In a show where every tiny movement has 26280 meanings and possible interpretations, I refuse to believe that this death has absolutely none.
And I also hope after crawling out, his first half conscious journey is into Ed's and Stede's inn, sending both into a cardiac arrest

speaking of kisses, i’ve been thinking about stede’s journey of falling in love with ed & how his perspective during each kiss reflects who he is at his core being:
1. the first kiss (stede the unwitting beloved)
Tumblr media
2. the moonlit kiss (stede the earnest dreamer)
Tumblr media
3. the wall kiss (stede the ardent lover of beauty)
Tumblr media
4. the beach kiss (stede the ride-or-die romantic)

I’m already seeing male reactors get very verbally defensive about that scene in She-Hulk where Jennifer describes how, simply as a woman, she has more experience in suppressing rage than Banner because speaking out will get you labelled “hysterical”, “emotional”, “difficult”, “too much of a feminist”, the list goes on. And if you snap back at the wrong cat-caller, you can get murdered. So now mcu bros are rushing at the opportunity to cry out “this is just another ‘marvel throwing in another woke scene for woke’s sake’. But like...it isn’t untrue. Comic nerds are all for female superhero protagonists until she, god forbids, talks about the dynamics of what it’s like to live within the confines of patriarchy.
MCU fans are always clamoring for the social commentary to be more “subtle” and not so “in-your-face”, just so they can mindlessly enjoy a punchy fighty show and not have to confront any real-world intersections with racism, misogyny, xenophobia, transphobia, all the -isms and -phobias you can imagine. Additionally, even when the social criticisms are embedded into the story, the conflicts are routinely either overlooked or watered-down and discussed at the individual-level as if these are just isolated incidents and not reflective of larger phenomena. Dudebros forget that superhero comic media, from the very beginning, has always been political. A lot of the mainstream characters we know and love today were created in response to the anti-war and peace movements during the seventies in the United States (this is also not to say that there isn’t some definite war propaganda and Red Scare-inspired comics out there either).
Comics are teaching grounds for morality, human good, and bad, power, greed, corruption. Comics have been about the social commentary from the get-go. The idea that the government (and by extent society at large) is villainizing and surveilling a specific minority group who carry varying physical and genetic traits contrasting to that of the “ideal national subject” because of a perceived inherent aggression or difference based on their physical attributes *ahem ahem mutants*...where do you think they got that from?
I literally sat through a dude being like “IN MY EXPERIENCE AS A MAN, THAT IS NEVER THE CASE! IF A WOMAN GETS UPSET AND MAKES A SCENE IN PUBLIC, THE MAN ALWAYS LOOKS LIKE THE BAD GUY BECAUSE IT IS ASSUMED HE DID SOMETHING WRONG. MEN ARE THE ONES WHO CAN NEVER BE ANGRY.” (Obviously for Black men, my argument is different because when Black men express rage, they are viewed as a threat or turned into spectacle, but the person who made this rant was not a Black man, nor was he factoring race into his argument). As if masculinity and gratuitous violence have not become nearly synonymous. When male celebrities are accused of beating their partners, fans run to their defense to say “well she shouldn’t have provoked him.” When Will Smith slapped Chris Rock, the internet rooted for a televised boxing match between the actors/comedians. We all watched the Trump and Hillary debates right, where his belligerent behavior was coddled while she had to maintain composure?
We’ve collectively grown up watching male newscasters, talk show hosts, and reporters make jokes about angry women in sports, in the media or in news reports being on their periods, as a way to minimize the stressful and abusive circumstances, or people, women are subjected to. The world expects women to react to harassment with class and elegance; women’s anger, Black women especially, is never not mitigated. For male fans to come away from that scene wanting to eye roll is why the commentary is so “in-your-face” because a lot of y’all still don’t get it! Men are still finding ways to make women’s issues about them and the “loss” of their rights. In a world where Brock Turners are able to walk free, are you really trying to argue against this scene? Really? What else do you expect out of a series whose main character is AN ATTORNEY? Y’all are just not going to enjoy this series then, as per usual.

Gale getting worried when his Tav seemingly gets poofed out of existence by that djinni at the circus. He knows realistically that they've been teleported somewhere else and that he should have faith in their fighting abilities but he can't help but worry. Perhaps he's not used to being away from them for even just a little bit. Tav has NEVER left him at camp. He was always by their side. They've been inseparable even to the point of other companions making fun of them. So he worries and tries to figure out how to get to where Tav is and then suddenly-!
Tav reappears covered in blood and unharmed with new loot and a big smile on their face. Everyone is welcoming them back with laughs and smiles but Gale is just standing there a bit dazed.
Tav: Gale? Are you alright?
Gale: I am now that you've returned to me.
Cue gagging noises, eye rolls, and jokes from the others.
Tav gives him a hug and it grounds him.

Okay I have to get a single vent off my chest and then I promise I'll be quiet.
I need ya'll to please realize now (before backlash at Guerrilla gets hurled in three years) DLC characters/content do not become mainstay installments in the way you imagine.
DLC characters do not become main characters.
DLC plots can be removed from the main story and recited as exposition in a main entry.
It HAS to be removable, because not every consumer buys DLC. Whether for lack of resources, access, or principal.
I just really don't wanna see people griping that Guerrilla "dropped"... ahem, anything... in three years from now. Or that some kind of endgame was promised and then taken away.
We been knew, or we SHOULD know bc this is how DLCs have worked always forever.
Not to mention BS was even MORE exclusive by proxy of being literally exclusive to a console people STILL don't have easy access to.
Please everyone just be reasonable when the time comes, that's all I'm worried about.

Also love Siegfried is saying "You are leaving me" and not "us". This decision is about to influence the whole family — the thing that he cares about the most, but right now it's purely personal and he can't even hide behind employer and family patriarch roles anymore.

it's unfortunate that twitter is the most convenient place to find TL news and latest pictures because wow the fandom over there is really a cesspool. I so need them to learn it's not actually funny to make fun of the cast for losing and then TAG the creators in said petty comments all over SHIPS. if you hate the show so deeply to be cheering in joy over its award show demise and echoing the commentary of the people who have always thought ted lasso was trash, just because you think it's appropriate ~revenge~ for a bad season like uhhh. maybe it's time to take a step back and leave the fandom because you clearly aren't enjoying yourself. and then the audacity to get on there every day demanding a season 4?? like what about the way they tweet at them do they think is enticing these creators to want to make more?

Wait you guys......
Mike and Will are in love
No because like they're just...they're just a wholesome childhood friends to lovers slowburn I'm gonna rewatch like "aww you don't know yet".
Like....
Mike and Will are in love.
They fell in love from ages 12-16(?). That's so cute. What the hell. I just randomly starting thinking about it like it's just some show I just heard about or something and I'm like "aw cute trope". What a cute trope wtf. That's adorable. Two twelve year old boys in the 80s and they fall in love over the course of many years as they grapple with internalized homophobia and homophobia in their small town? That sounds like a GREAT show where can I watch it? That's adorable.
Mike and Will are in love. And...that's just the premise. That's just the premise of their plot. If you came up to me after you watched episode 1 for spoilers and you were like "What happens to Lucas? Dustin? Mike? That girl they found? The kid who went missing?" I could just be like "Dustin gains confidence and becomes besties with Mike's sister's boyfriend after they break up, Lucas meets this girl who's introduced next season and they're really good for each other, the girl gets adopted by the police chief and then into the Byers and has a great found family and independence arc, and the boy who went missing survives and he and Mike fall in love!"
And that'd just be like...right. I'd just be telling you what happens.

ever since will told mike about sensing vecna again, he made the executive decision of staying the night with him like he used to when his best friend was possessed by the mind flayer.
joyce: aww that's very sweet of you, mike. you've always been so protective of him since you were little kids!
will, embarrassed and batting away at her: mom, stop it!
mike, feigning a cough but is actually choking, turning away the moment he feels color flooding his cheeks:
robin, pausing mid-conversation, a certain glint in her eyes as she sees mike in her peripheral vision: interesting.
nancy, surprised that she's not surprised, but also processing how her brother is in love with her boyfriend's brother:
jonathan: [stops exploding mike with his mind]
hopper: [war flashbacks]
murray: [starts plotting]
el is smirking somewhere in the background.

Steve walks in to Tony’s workshop, in a way that’s both determined and dejected. Before Tony can even ask what’s wrong (but luckily after he turns off his soldering pen) Steve plucks him from his stool and carries him to the couch where Tony is then deposited and Steve flops his head into Tony’s lap, Steve’s face pressed into Tony’s stomach, arms around him.
“What’s the matter honey?”
“Nothin’, ‘ts stupid”
“Oh?”
And then Nat and Clint come in looking for Steve. Turns out the TV show about the Team aired its season finale and the actor playing Tony wanted out so they killed off “Tony” as a big twist and only announced the actor’s departure post airing so he’s dead dead (in the show) and Steve stormed out once he learned that
“Awww honey are you sad I died?”
Steve lifts his head up to start ranting about abandoned character arcs and theming and “what was the point in the end??? You-I mean he never got to be happy after he earned it ☹️”
“There there”
“And another thing, MY character didn’t act nearly upset enough and …
