Hello,

So honestly? I don't think Claudia will be bothered by it once she learns the details. Heck, in all truth, I don't think she's all that bothered by it now, given -- yes -- the hint she got of it back in episode 2x02.

Because see, I do think Claudia did understand what the shopkeeper across the street from Madeleine's shop was warning her about . . . but she still went inside anyway.

And Claudia will have the ability to read Madeleine's mind when the subject comes up, as I'm sure it will, between them. And Claudia might very well think that Madeleine just did what she had to do -- as a human -- in order to survive and avoid death.

Because as Louis said in episode 2x01 -- "Human affairs -- death and how to avoid it. Their problem."

Claudia turned and walked away from what was happening to Emilia even before Louis did. She very much saw all that as human problems -- not hers. Just as she appeared to view WWII as a whole (which, as Louis himself said of her, she wasn't going to let humanity's "ideological entanglement" stop her from her goal of finding other vampires).

Louis and Claudia both really do not care about human issues or what humans do to each other at this point. Yes, even when it comes to racism IMO. Because honestly, when it comes to racism, Louis and Claudia, so far, have been very much about looking out for themselves and each other first and foremost above anything else when it comes down to it. Even before Louis began to let go of getting entangled in human affairs. And that has been it.

So yeah, when it comes to Madeleine collaborating with Nazis, again, I think Claudia will just see it as her having done -- as a human -- what she had to do to avoid death.

And as long as Madeleine isn't directly racist to her or anyone else? And Madeleine isn't actively being racist in general toward anyone currently? Yeah, I don't think Claudia will be bothered by her having been a collaborator. Again, especially if she was just doing it to survive.

“I’m sorry, gentlemen, but this is far as you go without being searched,” Emilia said to us, a sympathetic but uncompromising smile on her face. She held my eye as I attempted to bluster my way out of trouble. “You have no right to do that, miss, and if you insist on detaining James and I, I will make sure that you are charged with assault!” I said bravely. Unfortunately the woman behind Emilia, a blonde flight attendant called Natasha, simply burst out laughing. “I think you will find, sir,” she grinned, “that at 30,000 feet, cabin crew are the law!” My mouth opened and closed in frustration, but Jimmy had clearly already decided that resistance was pointless and raised his arms as Natasha approached him. I glared at Emilia, inwardly seething, but co-operated as she raised my arms with her white gloved hands, to arrogantly pat me down, still with that ironic half smile on her face. The humiliation of being publicly searched by these two witches seemed to go on forever, but worse was to come. Of course they found the drinks and watches we had removed from the galley trolley when we thought we were unobserved.

“Oh dear!” remarked Emilia in feigned shock as she dropped two watches onto the empty seat beside us. Natasha had also pulled a series of miniature spirits bottles from the miserable looking Jimmy’s pockets. “It looks like these two gentlemen are going to be our guests for longer than they bargained for,” she said cheerily, “shall we make them comfortable, Em?” Emilia nodded with satisfaction. “Stand where you are but place your hands behind your backs, please, gents.” she told us as Natasha briskly walked up the aisle away from us, her trim bottom swinging slightly inside her tight uniform skirt. We did as Emilia instructed, Jimmy with his head bowed while I silently glowered at the officious stewardess. Natasha soon returned, wielding zipties and lengths of cord. I looked despairingly down the aisle towards the seated passengers, who, unlike us, were unmolested, free, and enjoying their holiday, with one or two curiously straining in our direction to see what was happening.

“You are not going to tie us here in front of everyone are you, ma’am?” I demanded aghast. Emilia just gave me that knowing smile, while Natasha chimed in: “We certainly are. Now turn around, chaps, keeping those hands behind you. You are going to be tied up!” My face turned scarlet at the humiliation about to be visited on me by these women. Poor Jimmy started crying in shame. And then the two stewardesses publicly and tightly bound us, seemingly enjoying every minute of their supremacy.

I've discussed before the similarities between President Alma Coin in The Hunger Games trilogy and Daenerys Targaryen, but I saw these two films in the past week and these two villains share even more similarities (where they are overt and not hiding the violence they're willing to commit to get what they want):

The Chronicles of Riddick:

"Join him or join me." Him being the guy he's just killed.

Thor: Ragnarok

"My father is dead, as are the princes, you're welcome. We were once the seat of absolute power in the cosmos, our supremacy was unchallenged, yet Odin stopped at nine realms. Our destiny is to rule over all others and I am here to restore that power. Kneel before me and rise into the ranks of my great conquest."

"I thought you'd be happy to see me."

Since they won't kneel and are intent on fighting her, she kills them all.

Now, looking at these two different scenes with two different characters in two different universes, what do they have in common (besides having Karl Urban in both films)?

A villain that has some sort of magical/otherworldly ability that gives them an edge over the common person. They have used that ability and the belief of others around them (as well as belief in their own grandeur) to launch themselves into iconic status, someone/something above all others, and strike down anyone who opposes/questions them. Spreading their rhetoric (forcefully) that encourages a togetherness/joining but that would help each villain attain their actual goal: pure conquest and absolute power.

Sound familiar?

"I am the Last Targaryen, Jon Snow."

*when the people are crying out to the Lannisters to save them from her*

*when the people don't immediately greet her with love, she has her dragons fly overhead to scare the Northerners*

While there are plenty of examples of the foreshadowing present since season 1, how can anyone who is still in denial that Dany was going to go dark no matter when this show ended or how it ended, look at the two examples above and not see the similarities in setting up similar villainous characters within a story?

Showverse!Daenerys was always set up to be the true villain.

This is how that particular shade of tyrants work. (and this is why Emilia studied Hitler's speeches before that scene)

Paper and cardboard collection and recycling are growing in Italy, but the South must do more

Italy confirms its supremacy in the circular economy when it concerns paper and cardboard packaging. Also in 2022 separate waste collection has grown. Overall, more than 3.6 million tons of cellulosic materials were collected, 20 thousand tons more than in 2021, with an increase of 0.6 percent. The recycling rate stood at 81.2 percent, well above the European targets for 2025. This was revealed by the 25th Annual Report[1] on the collection and recycling of paper and cardboard developed by Comieco[2], the national consortium for the recovery and recycling of cellulose-based packaging.

These are satisfactory results that confirm the solidity of the collection, recycling and recovery system, achieved in a general context characterized by a drop in consumption, especially of food products, and by the rise in the cost of raw materials and energy with negative repercussions on the inflation rate. Overall, waste generation was reduced by more than one million tonnes. Despite everything, separate waste collection has become a good habit of Italians, as demonstrated by the national average of per capita collection, which has grown to 61.5 kilograms.[3]

The macro areas

A result never achieved before, to which the macro areas into which the country is divided have contributed. In the North, the overall result of separate collection recorded 8 thousand tonnes more than in 2021 (plus 0.4). Driving the growth were Valle d'Aosta, Lombardy and Emilia Romagna, that with an overall increase of 20,000 tonnes compensated for the drop of 12,000 tonnes recorded in Piedmont, Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige. On the other hand, Liguria and Friuli-Venezia Giulia are stable. In the central regions, the harvest recorded 4 thousand tonnes more than in 2021, representing a 0.5 percent growth. A result achieved thanks above all to Tuscany and Umbria, with a plus of 12 percent. In slight decrease, the Marches, with a contraction of 5 thousand tons, and Lazio, with less 3 thousand tons. In the latter case, the difficult situation of the collection service in Rome weighs above all. The South, on the other hand, achieved the same increase as the North: plus 0.8 percent, equal to 8,000 tons. With the exception of Campania, that remains stable, and the decline in Sardinia and Abruzzo (3 thousand tonnes less than in 2021), the other regions recorded growth rates of just under 4 percent. If we look at the per capita collection percentage, the palm of the best performance belongs to Emilia Romagna, with an average of 90 kilograms per inhabitant, for Northern Italy; to Tuscany, with just under 88 kilograms per inhabitant, for the Centre; to Sardinia, with 60 kilograms per inhabitant, for the South.

Southern problems

Overall, Comieco has signed 972 agreements to regulate the acceptance and recycling of cellulosic material from separate collection in 6,840 Municipalities. Centre and North count respectively 87 and 160 active conventions. The South, with 725 agreements, confirms a chronic fragmentation in the management of conventions. The effects of this fragmentation - notes Comieco - are not negligible and affect collection levels and speed. In practice, in the South the average remains one agreement for every 3 Municipalities, in the Centre one for every 10 and in the North one for every 23. In 2022 the Consortium started recycling just under 2 million tons of paper and cardboard, 55 per cent of the national municipal collection. Comieco committed 183 million, for the management of just under 2 million tons of paper and cardboard from the municipal collection managed under the agreement. Analysing the data by city, the Report highlights the growth of Genoa (up 5.4 percent), Florence (up 5.1 percent) and Palermo (up 3.9 percent). Milan (up 0.5 percent) and Turin (up 0.3 percent) remain stable. On the other hand, Naples (minus 1.5 percent) and Rome (minus 0.3 percent) are down. In the 25 years of operation (1998-2022) of the Anci-Conai agreement[4], Comieco has awarded Italian municipalities 2.1 billion euros for the collection of cellulosic packaging.

For the future, the aim is to increase collection and recycling activities. According to the Consortium, the greatest growth potential is concentrated in the South. In the southern regions, in fact, more than 50 percent of the 800 thousand tons of paper and cardboard still end up in the unsorted waste. Intercepting this quantity of packaging and sending it for recycling is one of the challenges that Italy will have to overcome in the coming years. A change of pace, from this point of view, is required above all in Sicily, Campania and Puglia.

The voice of the experts

“The data confirm the need to strengthen the commitment in the South” – comments Alberto Marchi, president of Comieco -. “For this reason we have prepared an extraordinary investment plan of 3.5 million euros to be used to increase the quantity and develop the quality of collection, involving over 3 million inhabitants and 34 Municipalities of the South, representing all the regions. The contribution of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR)[5] will be fundamental, which provides for a loan of 128 million for 70 projects approved in the central-south. To these will be added the investments planned for the entire supply chain for a total of more than 466 million. The plant engineering will be upgraded, which will increase the treatment capacity of the supply chain by 700,000 tons". The general manager of Comieco, Carlo Montalbetti, expects a further improvement in results as early as 2024. “The drive to increase the separate collection of paper and cardboard will also be supported by a renewed recycling capacity – he announces -. After the conversion of three paper mills, capable of recycling 1.2 million tons of paper a year, the start-up of another plant is expected by 2024, which will be able to process another 400,000 tons when fully operational".

A video of two German women dancing to AR Rahman's hit song 'Patakha Guddi from the 2014 blockbuster movie 'Highway' has gone viral on the internet.

Palina Paleeva, from Paderborn, Germany, shared the video on Instagram. She was also accompanied by another dancer named Emilia. " Ali ali ali ali," read the caption of the post, which has now garnered over 209,000 likes and more than two million views.

The clip showed the two dancers grooving to the iconic song's remixed version. They matched the traditional beats with their perfectly synchronised steps.

Since being shared, the video has left internet users amazed. "Wow. Love seeing you dance to an Indian song," wrote one user. "Love love love this!" wrote another. A third added, "Indian music supremacy," while a fourth commented, "The best and perfect moves. You both rocked with your moves."

'Patakha Guddi' is a song from the 2014 film 'Highway' starring Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt. The song was composed by AR Rahman and sung by Jyoti and Sultana Nooran.
