Mark your calendars, Hoyofair 2024 New Year is set for December 30th! More info. here and here!

It's a combination of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, which... I guess makes sense, those games make up the bulk of Hoyolab content. A shame there's nothing with Honkai Impact 3rd, but who knows, maybe that'll change when part 2 is out. As usual, Tears of Themis stays forgotten.

It's kind of funny that Hoyofair used to be held on around Genshin Impact's anniversaries (late September), but I guess they switched things up now with how much stuff fans keep making and sharing. It's a lot.

For the record, previous Hoyofairs streams were:

2022 (Sept. 23rd)

2023 New Year (Dec. 30th)

2023 Spring (April 15th)

2023 (Sept. 23rd)

...purely speculation, I wonder if the future Spring Hoyofairs are to help celebrate Honkai Star Rail anniversaries? Like how the ones from September happen to fall around Genshin's anniversaries. Seems like oddly coincidental timing.

A reminder that Hoyofair streams are not the same as the Bilibili Genshin Impact New Years (held around Lunar New Year) and Birthday (anniversary) streams! Perhaps we'll get a dedicated Honkai: Star Rail stream on Lunar New Year? We'll see by late January after more details have been announced.

AU brainstorming thing

Some brainstorming containing an AU where Zovaal was so powerful, that instead of remaking the Universe with the Sepulcher, he had enough power to do so in the existing reality. A little drabble of AU Kyrestia - here named Elysia - dealing with it and getting some unexpected help.

He said they had options but even that was a lie. As the Winter Queen and her Court refused to bend the knee to his will they were eradicated in the blink of an eye. The rest of Ardenwealds “rebellion” was kept alive with the knowledge that they too will parish now with their goddess gone and that it was only his will that kept them alive. Most of them walked into oblivion willingly.

Her brother dealt with Maldraxxus and Revendreth in the same way. It was only much later, that Elysia found out, that Denathrius had worked with Zovaal from the beginning and that the few remaining Venthyr still believing into their realms purpose where cast into the Maw or where killed on the spot.

When she found out, that Zovaal had his own bearers and that those corrupted Kyrian killed her OWN to get the souls they ferried, she called them back. All of her Watchers and Bearers. They all where to return to Bastion immediately. From all the millions of her people only one Watcher made it and she later died on her injuries. The grief broke Vesiphone and drove Agthia into Madness. It didn't matter in the end: they where next.

Elysia knew he was coming for her but still his attack blindsided her. Like a flood Zovaals minions stormed Bastion and who didn't bend was killed on the spot. He had his bearers after all. At the end of the day: it was only herself, Mercia, Agthia, a Disciple of Wisdom and an Aspirant, who had barricaded themselves in the ruins of the Spires of Ascension. Everyone else was dead. She failed them – she failed all of them.

The Firstborne kept her remaining Kyrian as close as possible while her mind rattled down her options. It was only at the gasp of her Aspirant and Agthias raging hiss, that she noticed the intruder. Elysia flared her wings, shoved her five Charges behind her as she took her Polearm and ... stopped. That … being before her was not of Zovaals. She never had felt anything like this beings energies, nor seen anything like it in person but she remembered on of her watchers speaking of this elusive and dangerous beings: Infinite Dragons. And this one was Powerful.

”Greetings, honored Archon. I come to offer the solution you seek.”

I LOVE THIS TROPE SOO MUCH. its one of my favourite tropes. its like, in terms of animal tropes, it would be golden retriever x black cat. the characters i have in mind for this areeee.... topaz, serval, bai yi, beidou, elysia and kafka. i think all of them would definitely be a perfect fit for this kind of trope. not a fic but just a little short imagine!!

forced to be invited to this rich kid's mansion party by college gf!(char) because she wants to taste the drinks there, eat the food and have fun with other people. you kept refusing at first, because your introverted ass cannot handle crowds. you'd look like a small, crying kitten in the midst of the crowd. you know you'd be pushed here and there, hearing crazy screams and shouting, with rave music in the background and you hated it. in the end, you gave in and was dragged to the mansion by (char). in there was so many people, chatting, laughing, having fun and dancing to the music. (char) saw a friend and ran after them, forgetting you were there with her. 30 minutes passed, you were standing in a corner, a little further from the crowd and you started getting anxious, wondering where she is and why she just left you like that. you decided to just swarm and squiggle into the crowd to find her, feeling your social battery get drained even more. and you spotted her talking with her friend, because her hair color just stood out alot. you ran after her and shyly hugged her from behind, trying to silently tell her that she forgot about you and that you're still here. she flinched a little, but knowing it was you, she gave you an apologetic smile and told her friend that you're her girlfriend in case they were confused.

"y/n, i'm sorry i accidentally left you behind. it wont happen again, i promise", she told you, but you still felt a little insecure that she just... left you like that for a friend. "no it's fine, maybe i shouldn't have been here anyways if i wasn't so important. i don't like parties anyways." you blurted out. she noticed you looked and even sounded sad from that tone, she knew she was going to have to make it up to you with hugs, kisses and snacks when you two get home tonight. she apologizes once again, and tells her friend that she'll be going home earlier to avert her attention more to you. she feels guilty, but she knows you meant no harm and you can't help feeling like that. but she just loves taking care of you and reassuring you anyways, no matter if you guys have huge differences, contrasts and are considered total opposites by others. they say opposites attracts anyways 🤭

Butttt she normally makes you carve out the pumpkin since she doesn't want to get dirty-- but afterwards she'll give you a little kiss on the cheek as a thank you!!

• She'll carve out a cute little cat face or a representation of her own face since they are both cute in her opinion (narcissist era fr /j)!! She'll definitely want praises for what she made and she'll praises what you made too even if you don't like it!

• The next one is caramel apple making! It's a pretty simple cute little activity that Elysia likes too!! She loves how sweet the caramel is! But you probably won't like it since she'll try to put caramel apples on your horns that need to dry- and then afterwards she would try to lick up the caramel that sticked to your horns hdjdhhd-

• She is also definitely making you have a campfire with her! Just the both of you nicely cuddled up on a log with a campfire in front of you, Elysia is definitely making s'mores for the both of you! Maybe even trying different combinations with different types of chocolate and marshmallows! She also wants to see if she can cook them with your electricity too-

• Also she's definitely going Halloween shopping with you if you want to celebrate it with her! She loves the Halloween decorations and likes to pick some out to decorate the house with!! She would love it if you pick out some too and help her decorate!

• Elysia will also get paints, stickers and other decorating things to decorate your horns for Halloween! She will paint them purple to a orange gradient and then get ghost stickers and other stuff like that and put it on over the paint once it dries!! She finds this activity really fun since she gets to be very close to you as she does it <3

• it's never ending fun and agony with Elysia!-

• Eden finds Autumn a wonderful time of the year! It's so peaceful and calming, it makes the perfect time to play some instruments outside!

• And that's one of the activities she has you do with her if you want! It's just so peaceful to play a song with the rustling of leaves falling and the wind blowing in the background creating a beautiful scenery around the place, and then afterwards you guys can sit down in cuddle in the grass <3

• Eden likes more calm dates like walking in the woods or taking a hike, it's more calming for her and it just helps her feel more connected to you in general for some reason! Just holding your hand tightly as both of you walk through the wood as the leaves gently fall down around you and some on top of you, that Eden will pick out later out of your hair / clothing as she chuckles

• Along with that she's going to try some new pumpkin recipes with you if you like pumpkin flavored things, if not then she's just going to try another flavor so you can both enjoy it! Cooking is another fun activity that she likes cuz it can turn out right or wrong but it's still fun in the end since it's with you!

• She also loves watching scary movies around this time! She doesn't really watch them for the scariness but for the plot for some reason?? Like she cannot get scared at all and if a scary scene comes on all she does is chuckle-

• But the best thing about Autumn in her opinion is the wine tasting! There's so many different types of wine that she can try out with you! If you don't want to try them then she'll just get you freshly made your favorite type of juice so you can try it fresh! She will get drunk so do prepared to carry her home or something hdhahd

youve heard all about how ive hated change before, time to hear it again!

really just a post discussing what i like and dont like abt the ui

whys everything so sharp its soooo ugly

restructuring of the main buttons is fine (i will miss you valkyja tho) except for the little “important thing” button it feels off not being next to attack

new supply icon is much weaker

equipment to equip is a weird choice

of course the new elf button is elysia. its nice art tho

i get what theyre doing with the attack button but it looks out of place

the small buttons all look really good actually

the really transparent buttons make them feel smaller even the ones that got larger

dont like the new “click” noise. its like.. wet? i think the old one fit fine

the dark box for the notifs bar amount is super out of place

bar itself is pretty much unchanged so

ill miss the italic writing but i get why it was changed

captain lvl exp bar parts that are unfilled are really hard to see. like it goes all the way to the bp but barely looks that way

the new phone fucking sucks like its literally just a rectangle

the “new!” text is hard to read actually

text is just unnaturally small

old maxed stamina is much better

the orange notifs are abt the same

more hexagons please

the weapon being visible is pretty sick actually

i like the multiple indicators of type in the new character selection considering they replaced the old backgrounds

even more slants/italics killed.. so sad

smaller icons for the select is kinda annoying but i do get it

the outfit/photo/etc buttons being together out is nice

stigmata thing should be bigger its just a lot of blank space thats really ugly

clear guide/tutorial/appreciation mode buttons are really nice

i dont think shes centered anymore

the lack of crystals/coins/stamina bothers me.,you use these to upgrade/get characters why would you remove them

lack of boxes around the skills and battlesuit info is also really ugly

still doesnt seem to have easy access to gear/team plans

Jazmyn - miraluka-tsis - first born daughter to Kritanta and Vowrawn through trans pregnancy. Main Consular. Deaf and had head injury trauma as result of being rescued from the Red Reaper cult. May or may not take on child! Nadia as padawan while Tau took child! Vaylin on. Sith name: Savitri. Main love interest to Tau. Assassin spec.

Ania - miraluka-tsis - second born daughter to Kritanta and Vowrawn through trans pregnancy. Also Deaf. Main Imperial Agent but goes by Cipher Fourteen. Was trained as Sith but lost all of her ability to use the Force physically by (redacted) that she later go to Imperial Intelligence. Main love interest to Marr and Jadis. Sniper spec.

wow, only four ocs and any other class ocs are more background or played for sake of romance/class story/play other specs in endgame lol. x) then again, I made my own raid group version for my legacy consist of ocs plus npc-turned-ocs.

Next addition to the original music roster, this time it's Matt. No lyrics again, but it's more of a realized choice than just me being lazy haha. Rambling about the song under the cut.

If I were to list inspirations, that would be "Elysia" Honkai Impact OST, Jigoku Shoujo's 3rd season ending "Ichinuke", and Beethoven. Namely "Fur Elise" (lol this name again) and "Moonlight Sonata", first movement. Fur Elise has a bit of a special connection with Matt - I even featured its music sheets in his character art (it's the texture in the background).

I guess I could also call Alice: Madness Returns an inspiration, since my brain ended up sneaking in reference to it in the backing parts. I'm not sure how noticeable it is in full audio so I rendered the bit by itself and placed it next to music in question

It was totally unconscious XD But I kept it there even after realizing. Can't say it doesn't fit though.

Like Tord's theme, there was a totally different first draft that I ended up scrapping. It sounded more jazzy and noir-ish, which I guess is closer to Matt's theme from the old AU but not what fits him NOW, exactly.

In terms of instruments used. Aside from the piano which is established as being Matt's signature instrument, it also features violin, organ and music box. Violin and strings in general always give me Victorian England vibes (again blame AMR). Organ and church bells represent Matt's outward appearance as well as a part of his backstory. The music box has most symbolic importance tied with the backstory though.

Percussion noises that sound like cutlery. I was trying to make an impression of some posh dinner party, one of the many Matt had to attend I imagine.

Generally speaking I wanted something soft and somber with some "aristocratic" vibe and I think it succeeds in this.
