No matter what was going on, it seemed like something was drawing you and Elle together. Everytime you'd have a case, and had to be briefede you'd always seem to end up sitting next to the girl you couldnt be normal around. She's too beautiful. There was something about her, that drew you in. You had only known her for a couple of months, and still you were all over the place. Everytime you'd have to stay at a hotel while working on a case, or just finishing one, you'd be paired up with Elle.
Elle Greenaway, your colleague. Its not that you minded sharing a room with her, it just always made you stutter, hesitate and make your palms sweat just a little bit. You'd end up sitting together on the plane home. Or on the way over to where the case would take place. You two would always end up talking alot together, whenever this happened. It was like you never ran out of topics, words, themes or whatever, when you two were sat together. You two could talk together to the end of time. What you didn't notice was that when you were in a deep conversation with Elle, the rest of your coworkers would pair up and stare at you two in the background. They would whisper about you two, and their next moves. They'd smile at their small accomplishments even though you two weren't aware of your true feelings to each other yet. But that's what they were here for. To help you on the way.
Well, the only one on the team who was oblivious to the shipping of you two was Spencer. He wasn't included when the others got together to admire you two from afar. Normally you didn't really think anything of it. It was probably all just a coincidence that no matter what you were doing at work you somehow ended up talking or working with Elle somehow. The team wished to accomplish that one of you would finally ask the other out. But you never did. Then they tried to start mentioning how cute you two were, to maybe encourage you. Spencer even thought sometimes the team was mad at him or making him feel left out. For example that time where Spencer was about to sit next to you but then Derek shoved the chair away from him, giving him a knowing look. Trying to tell him why with his eyes, but Spencer didn't catch on. Instead he furrowed his eyebrows, and looked around confused. His hands in his pockets trying to understand what had just happened. He still didn't catch on when Elle came in and took the seat next to you, leaving Spencer with the chair on the other end of the table. He might've felt like the team liked you better than him. Even though the team never had a favorite. Well, maybe they had a favorite ship. Hopefully soon, a favorite couple.
There were of course some times where the team didn't have to do anything to get you two closer, or give you sweet moments. That's probably also why you fit so well together. You didn't need someone to force you together. You just needed a little reasurence.
Like that one time where you were on a case, during late fall:
You were shivering, from the cold breeze. The wind brushing your hair and shoving to the trees making their leafs rattle together. The leafs were dark brown and orange. The trees almost being dead, since winter was nearing. You tried hugging yourself and moving around to keep yourself warm. You started to regret not bringing a jacket or at least a warmer shirt, but you thought that You could handle the weather. It didn't seem that cold, when you got ready for the day. You could hear the wind swirl around your ears and the cold causing your ears and cheeks to go red. But then you saw her standing in front of you, and then your cheeks went red for a whole different reason. She was standing there with her jacket in her hands, holding it infront of her. She was looking at you with a small subtle smile and it was such a gentle caring expression she held. Her eyes studying your face for a moment before speaking up. "You seem cold" Her voice almost made your knees melt. But you couldt let yourself move. Being so close to her and having her full attention made butterflies erupt in your stomach. "I am" You answered, slowly stopping rubbing your arms. Her lips were slightly parted, her lips being a faint soft pinkish, redish color. "Here. Take my coat" She said softly. It wasn't a demand, nor was it a question. Your lips turned upward at her thoughtfulness.
"Thank you" You said, as she held out the coat for you to fully take. You took it calmly from her grip, brushing fingers as you did so. Eye contact didnt seem to be a problem betweent you two. Your eyes were glued to each other, not being able to look away, as you put it on. "Elle, Y/N!" Derek called, interrupting you and Elle. Elles head whipped around, and you walked up next to her, to see what Derek wanted. But you weren't paying attention. Your mind was still foggy from the way her eyes could shine so brightly, even if it was so gloomy outside. Oh, and the feeling her fingers quickly but softly touching yours.
Then there was the time where you were on a little vacation with Derek and Elle in Jamaica. It was night and the summer breeze was brushing against your legs, as Elle asked if you wanted to dance. There was music and that dance floor, where other couples and people were enjoying the night. You nodded at her, and she took your hands following you to the dance floor. You were both smiling at each other, and softly swaying to the sounds of the music. You could even feel the vibrations of the music under your feet. Her arms resting around your neck and yours resting around her form. Her skin was so soft, and having her touching you felt like heaven. It felt rare. Like you had to cherish this feeling and moment forever. As long as you possibly could.
Earlier that day you and Elle had played Volleyball with some guys at the beach. You had been laughing and enjoying the game together the whole time. You couldnt help but admire Elle during the whole game. You also felt a sickening feeling in the pit of your stomach, everytime one of the guys had flirted with Elle. Now you couldnt quite read if Elle was into it or not, but it still hurt. But it was like you could feel the bond between you and Elle getting stronger and closer. It's not easy to explain, it's something you feel.
But right now you were at a bar, with most of the team. Spencer had been persuaded, Hotch had agreed to go shortly, Gideon didn't go and the rest of you were quite enthusiastic. Penelope, Derek, Emily and JJ were on the dance floor. Then there was you, Spencer, Elle and Hotch sitting by a table just calmly chatting. Hotch had exused himself, getting his coat on. He had a family to go home to, so he didn't stay for that long.
While he was getting his things, Penelope had made her way over to all of you, but only with the intention of interacting with you and Elle. You were sitting next to her, leaning your head on the palm of your hand. You had placed your elbow quite close to Elle without noticing. Penelope dragged the two of you onto the little stage in the bar. Yes, she was actually making you two do karaoke. You'd have to be really brave and confident to do karaoke. Strangers gathered in a bar and amateur singers putting on a perfomance. You'd need to be secure in your singing and perfomance. Now, its not like you and Elle were bad at singing. But you could always be better. The whole time you both had been stuttering out words of rejection, and walking hesitantly. But then she shoved the microphone in your hand. "Come on, it'll be fun" She almost pleaded and gave you a small pouty look. The music had already started to play and when you looked behind Penelope you saw a bunch of people looking at you waiting for the small show to begin. Oh, right then you felt like you wanted to just run away and hide. Hide from the world, and make everyone forget about you and everything you've ever done. But then Elle sighed, and tool a hold of the microphone is shifting it lighty. Now you were both holding it, so you could both access it.
You had both started to sway to the music, trying to get comfortable. You both started singing and at first it was awkward. You weren't even looking at the audience, and your shoulders were tense. But just like music always does, it gets to you. Music can do so much to a person. Make them feel all kinds of different emotions and think a bunch of different things. It can even say things for you.
You were holding the microphone in your right hand, and Elle was holding it with her left. Since you had to hold it together to both participate as much as you could, you were close. Your bodies were so close to each other. You could almost feel her breath on your skin. You were subconsciously moving yourself closer to her, feeling the warmth of her body more and more. Elle herself felt her mind go blurry. She couldnt think straight. It was like, it was only you two in the world. In the moment. The words you were singing belonged to a sweet, soft love song. When you were singing those words to one another, looking into each others eyes getting more and more lost, you were singing words you'd longed to tell her for a long time. Words so she could understand how you feel about her. Elle even felt like her legs were going to betray her in that moment. Never had she been more infatuated with you in that moment. All of a sudden Elle understood her feelings for you completely. It all made sense. And you. You had just been waiting for a sign. A way. I think everyone knew what you were feeling for Elle, but yourself. It was complicated, really. You were aware of these feelings and emotions, but you had never actually thought: What if i asked her out? What if she was mine?
It was like you just weren't going to do anything. But in that moment, you wanted to. You wanted to try and see if maybe Elle wanted to too. Then the song ended. And everyone clapped, causing you to snap back to reality and out of the little spell you both had been under. You both smiled looking around to see the team smiling and clapping along. You had no idea, that the whole time while you and Elle were singing together, they had been gushing and whispering about you two at the table you had claimed for the night. Spencer was also clapping along, but he wasn't wearing that amusing look like the rest. He was more casual. You put the microphone back in it's place, and joining the rest of the group with Elle. Hotch had stayed, when he realized what Penelope had been doing.
"Not bad" Derek smiled, leaning on the table. "Thanks" You muttered, sitting back in your seat. You were both blushing crazily. You'd had to be absolutely blind not to be able to see it. It was so obvious. Everyone had noticed the romantic interest you two had in each other....well, all except for your brother, Spencer. You and Spencer could talk about alot of stuff together. Discussing things and topics, talking about childhood memories but you didn't really talk much about the others love life. And you definitely didn't want to talk about your interest in Elle, afraid of her finding out. "That was really cute!" Penelope commented, her voice full of excitement. Hotch decided to leave after having watched you and Elle's little moment. The others quickly made conversation again, but you and Elle were silent. Your knees brushing against the others once in a while. You couldnt think clearly. Your mind was too focused on Elle. Her long dark hair looked so elegant as it bounced around, and her chocolate brown eyes shining. She truly was captivating. You didn't even notice you'd been staring, until she turned to look at you. You made eye contact immediately. None of you looked away. You just sat there. Looking. It might've looked awkward in 3rd person, but it wasnt to either of you. You could feel the connection between you two. There was just something there. Something strong. For a moment you started to wonder if she even felt the same, or if it was just you.
But then she kissed you. All of a sudden her lips were on yours. Infront of everyone. Her lips were so soft, and feeling the warmth from her body again was something you'd never want to end. One of her hands ended up on the side of your face. You of course kissed her back. It took a few seconds to register what had just happened, but when you became aware, you immediately kissed her back. It felt so safe and secure. Your heart was beating so fast, you might've believed it would've beated all the way through your chest, like you were in a cartoon. Then you both pulled away, after some time to not only get some air but to see each others reactions. But then you looked around you to see your colleagues looking absolutely shocked but happy at the same time. Eyes wide, eyebrows raised and small smiles tugging at their lips. "Wow." JJ almost mumbled. "Argh! Finally!!" Penelope clapped her hands, and jumped in her seat. Through your whole life with your twinbrother Spencer, you had never seen him more confused before. He was absolutely shunned. Eyes wide and mouth agape. "What?" Spencer managed to say, even though he looked absolutely speechless. You bit your bottomlip to stop a smile forming on your face, and as your elbow rested on the table before you, you took your hand covered the top of your face so your eyes were hidden from the people around you. Elle snuck one of her hands into the one you held on your lap, to hold it softly but secure. "You two are so cute" JJ said sweetly to you two, so maybe you'd feel less embarrassed. You sneaked a glance over all of them and sighed. They seemed okay with the fact you were two girls. But then again that wasn't really your biggest question. The thing you wanted to know was what you and Elle were going to do now between the two of you. Go on a date and take it from there, or forget this thing? You just hoped Elle wanted the same as you. You giggled, feeling trapped. "Thank you" You said, answering JJ's recent remark. You looked at Spencer giving him a slight awkward smile. He took a breath before closing his mouth again. He looked down and then up again. "What is going on? Why do none of you seem so shocked?" Spencer questioned out of pure curiosity, pointing to you two. "Spencer, its been so obvious. We've all been pushing them together the last couple of months" Emily stated. "You have?" You then asked. Now Spencer was even more confused. How come you didn't even know? Elle didn't seemed that surprised, meaning she must've been well aware. "Yeah. Why do you think you always end up sitting together whenever we're at work or doing anything in general?" It sounded from Emily. She herself seemed surprised you hadn't noticed. "Yeah, or that one time in Jamaica. I invited both of you for a reason" Derek explained. You let out a breathy laugh. "Oh" Was all you managed. "Or today when Garcia forced you to sing" Emily mentioned. You then looked at Elle. "Why did i not know any of this?" Spencers high-pitched voice sounded. He was furrowing his eyebrows, and looking around pure baffled. You all let out a laugh, at the sound of your brother. You were sure he was happy for the both of you, but right now he just needed some answers. And you were just happy to finally have gotten closer to the girl you'd been dreaming of. Turns out that the whole time it had been the team who had been drawing you and Elle together.

Hello!
Yk how in the show Elle got shot and then used her blood to write a message? I believe it happened in "The Fisher King pt 1"
and then later the team including Elle had a case about a serial rapist (William Lee is the name I looked it up on Google)
which triggered her and she killed him?
I wanted it to be Reader who killed him instead.
I hope this cleared things up <3
Pairing: Elle Greenaway x fem!reader
Warnings: Guns, violence and typical Criminal minds stuff.
Genre: Angsty.
Category: Oneshot.
Summary: After Elle was shot by the Fisher King, she wasn't really working the same. A case triggered you, where it leads to your secret being revealed.
I didn't really know how i wanted to write this, but here it is. I'm sorry if I didn't understand it correctly. This is what I came up with. The ending is kinda of an open ending.
Tumblr media
After Elle had been shot in her own home, she didn't feel safe in her own house. She ended up spending a lot of her free time in your home, too scared to be alone. So as soon as you came home, she rushed over to you, to show how much she missed you. Elle managed to find a way to get more comfortable at home. She was more aware of her surroundings and if she had to go home to get something from her house, she would grab something that reminded her of you. Whether that was some clothing or an object she could fit in her pocket. She always locked her doors and windows. Even when she was at your place. You and Elle would make dinner and dessert together, and have movie nights as often as you could. Elle would sometimes be brave enough to open up to you, and talk about the things that were bugging her. You would lean forward listening, and give her the best words you could give her to help her go through what she was going through.
One day, you were called in for a case about a serial rapist. You had woken Elle up a little bit, to tell her you had to go, and she immediately clinged onto the arms that were placed on her shoulders, after you had tried to shake her softly awake. She held onto the with a slight desperate grib, with eyes filled with yearning. She didn't want you to leave, but she knew you had to. You kissed her hands and then her whole face, before leaving. You had told her she cold text or call if she needed anything or simply just missed you. The door had closed with a click sound, and right after it closed, you heard the lock turn.
You and your team eventually found your way to a suspect, and was going to set him up, using you as the trap. But you couldnt think straight the whole time. Your heart wouldn't calm down, and the pit in your stomach was only getting stronger and stronger every second. Your palms got sweaty, right before you grabbed your gun. Basically, you messed up. You panicked. And you were so angry at yourself for having messed it up, but there was nothing you could do to change it. It happened. Before this whole setup you all had went through files to find your way to where the unsub would strike next. But the officers who had been sent to the womans home to warn her and help, no one answered the door. Turns out, while the officers were banging on the door, and rining the doorbell, the unsub was inside waiting for them to leave. When you found out you felt your stomach drop. This whole wave of sadness and anger attacked you all at once, filling you up with absolute hatred. Everyone else knew. They could see and feel it. They tried calming you down, and even Spencer had tried talking to you about it, but he didn't get it.
It all reminded you of Elle. Of how it changed Elle, the woman you loved. You would never wish anything horrible for Elle. It all reminded you of how Elle was too scared to be alone now, and was always clinging onto you in some way. You didn't tell Elle about the details of the case. You knew it wouldn't help her situation. The only way Elle felt peace was when she was with you, or in your home. And right now you were far away from her. The unsub was arrested and interrogated, but unfortunately you didn't have any concrete evidence to keep him. Unless, you got a confession, which you didn't. He was really getting on your nerves. He knew how to get under your skin. He proved that further, when you were facing him in the middle of the night all alone. You knew he was about to strike again, when you stood there facing him. But he was talking so arrogant and cocky. When he walked around you, and walked backwards still looking at you, you stopped him. You did something you were not proud of. Something you wish you didn't have to do. But you knew if you let him go, he was going to mess a woman up for a long time. Physically and mentally, considering the fact that most of the women he targeted were middle aged. You drew you gun, and pointed it at your target. You had an explanation ready for. He had been threatening and attacked you, so you defended yourself with your gun. You didn't want to admit to anyone what had happened. When Derek had asked you: "Whats actually bugging you, Y/N?"
You sighed heavily, and explained how bad you felt for Elle. It all remebered you of how she was still healing and how she still wasn't completely healed yet. Derek had given you an understanding look, but he still didn't understand why it bothered you to such an extreme level.
"Because Derek! I live with her and see how it effects her everyday! Every time I have to leave i see how her face changes from comfort and safety to being nervous and scared." You explained quite harshly, throwing your arms around out of frustration. Derek, didn't understand at first, making you freeze. No one on the team knew about you and Elle, due to a rule. A rule that dating with someone you worked with, wasn't allowed. But now you had let it slip. But then you relaxed your tensed up shoulders, when you realized you didn't actually care. Elle had been through so much, and you had just ended someone. There was worse things to worry about. You shook your head, and ran a hand through your hair. "Yeah. Me and Elle are together" You sighed, before leaving Derek alone. Everyone found out after that. And everyone was very understanding of it, and accepting. But you still had other things going on. People were questioning your story. And you still had to recover from all of the troubled feelings this case had caused you.

__________________________________________
At first I thought Elle would be mean, rude and cold when I first started my new job at the BAU. But that was just her tough side, she put on when she was facing unsubs or people who were absolute scumbags.
I've only been on the job for a few weeks, but I could already tell she wasn't really mean. She was good at collaboration, when we were on a case. She wasn't difficult to talk with, and seemed clever. She was also very attractive. Her facial features could be soft and piercing at the same time. Her long dark hair framed her face perfectly. It was even curly sometimes. I don’t know if she curled it or if it was natural, and she was just ashamed of it, so she had decided to straighten it sometimes.
And she was also really confident in herself. I could tell by the way she wasn't afraid of eye contact and her ability to talk easily with others, even if she barely knew them. She didn't really stutter either.
During those few weeks, that I've known her, we've only really talked together when working on a case. I also had some fun playing cards with the team, whenever we were on our way home after a case. I would sit on the plane ride home, laughing and interacting with my new colleagues. They were all friendly and kind. They never came with mean remarks, or give cold looks, but I was still just warming up to them. Well, Hotch, your boss, was pretty much the only one who didn't smile much along with Gideon. But I knew that didn't have anything to do with me. Years of working with cold hearted people, some ended bad, some ended good and some were kinda a mix, could need a person who could distance themselves.
But I did get along well with Elle, since we were both quite new to the team. It was nice to know that I wasn't the only one, who didn't feel 100% included or comfortable yet.
I had been so excited about starting at the BAU working for the FBI. So I was going to try everything I could to be friends or neutral with my collegueas. There was the tech analyst, Penelope Garcia, who was colorful, bright and cheerful. JJ was a liason, who dressed quite casual and seemed kind and relaxed. Derek Morgan, a guy who was flirty, athletic and smooth. Spencer Reid who was awkward and a certified genius and had so much knowlegde, that everyone who met him briefly was absolutely shocked. Aaron Hotchner, my boss, who always had a stoic face and acted calm. Jason Gideon who also seemed calm, and closed off.
Then theres Elle Greenaway. Elle who had been promoted from sex crimes to the BAU. Based on what I knew about her until now is that she's: Strong-willed, brave, smart and friendly. She was also really beautiful.
I might've accidentaly looked at her for too long sometimes, when doing paperwork. Or when I'm on the plane. In the briefing room. Okay, well that does sound a little creepy, but it wasn't meant like that. She was just so captivating. And interesting. It was like she's drawing me in like a spider waiting for someone to fall into their web. Without even noticing. Without being aware and responsible. She wasn't actually meaning to draw me in. Her sweetness also showed itself sometimes. She would offer help, and gladly do it if she was asked. She could also be thoughtful. But pretty much everyone on this team were thoughtful.
It was clear to anyone that this team, was a good one. Good teamwork, respect and cooperation. And I would love to be fully apart of it. To them I already am, but I still have to be fully comfortable before I can let myself be free around them.
When we're back at the bullpen it's normally very relaxed. We joke around and talk. Of course, we do work too, but being friends and working together, always makes atleast one joke slip. During the time I've been here, I've learned that Derek and Penelope are the ones who make the most jokes. I've also noticed that Spencer is the one who most of time doesn't get them. Elle just smirks at it all. JJ would normally shake her head, and I would just observe.
Today had been steady. No case had come up, and everyone seemed relaxed. I was sitting by my own desk, doing my work. That's what I'd been doing the whole day. Just sitting, reading and writing. I'd gone to the restroom, and when I came back, there was a note on my table. A note who had a cute little poem on it. A compliment. Must've been a love letter. Or love note. It sure looked like it. The handwriting was so pretty and clear. Now, I don't know who it belonged to, but I wish I did. I mean, It's really cute that someone left this on my desk, but I wish I knew who left it there so I knew if I should be charmed by it or not. But either way, my heart still quickened as i read it, and my lips turned upward regardless my resistance. I'm pretty sure my cheeks had colored themselves red, but I couldn't see it. I started turning around in my chair on wheels, while reading the note over again. Was it really for me? I looked up at the people around, calming myself down and trying to maybe catch the culprit. I sat down the note, and stopped the smile that had formed before. I didn't want to get interviewed. But it was too late, I reckon. "What is it?" Spencer who was sitting across Elle asked me. My seat was next to Elle. I looked up, with wide eyes while saying: "What?"
"You were smiling at something" He stated, nodding to your desk even though he couldnt see it, because of the little wall between your desks. "Oh.." I sighed. I really tried coming up with an ecxuse, but honestly why would I be smiling at a case file?
Elle’s head whipped around to look at me. She had been minding her own business, but when she heard no further reply it got her thinking. She was toying with one of her pens. I could feel her eyes on me, while I was still looking forward at Spencer, who clearly was very curious.
"It's a note" I couldn't hide the small smirk that crept onto my face. I folded the note and put it in the back pocket of my pants. I shook my hair out of my face, trying to get going again, but Spencer wanted more information. Elle just turned her head back to her own work. I was unable to see her face, her long dark hair had been in the way. I was staring at her figure for a few seconds, while Spencer was asking his question. Honestly, I wasn't listening to him. Elle's hair was big today and it was so pretty. I felt myself breathe out a small sigh, my eyes probably smiling in her direction. My hands were playing with each other, while I looked down at her hands. There was something really elegant about them. Maybe it was just the rings she wore. But either way they were pretty.
"From who" Spencer said, eyebrows furrowed. He tried looking over the wall, to see but honestly it was hopeless. He wasn't going to get anything out of it, but worth a shot. It was cute.
I giggled lightly, and took it out of my pocket to hold it up infront of him. "It doesn't say. But it's talking very nicely of me" I smiled at him, and put it down again. Spencer just pouted probably thinking of something, while looking to the side of me, before going back to his own work. Elle had been ignoring it. She didn't ask any further questions or look over, which means she was probably respecting me and my privacy.
The note had words of only love written on it. Compliments and sweet words, that could mean alot to a person. Make someone feel special. I honestly couldn't stop thinking about it, even though i had pushed it aside for now. Who thought of me like that? If it was even meant for me. Its not like my name was on it. It could've been a mistake, right? However, the compliments in the letter did have descriptions of things of my physical appearance. My cheeks heated up, as I started to feel warmer inside. Of course, I was smiling, who wouldn't?
All day at work, I had been thinking and thinking about who might've left that note at my desk. Knowing someone was interested in me, was just the best feeling in the world. When someone makes you feel loved it's the best thing in the world. Feeling loved and worthy. So yes, I wanted to know who had these feelings for me. But I just couldn't find out. I didn't notice anyone staring at me unusually or weirdly. But hopefully, this wasn't just a prank or a joke. Getting my hopes up like that would be mean. And it’s not funny, when someone plays someone else like that.
But no case came in, so it was just a calm and nice day at the office. And that’s fine too. Working at the bullpen was probably my favorite days. Yes, I enjoy the days where we get a case and have to work hard and do a good effort. That’s exciting too. But both of these situations have things I like and dislike.
The bullpen was warm and the lights had been turned on as the sun was starting to go down. Curtains had been rolled down in other people’s officers, But in the bullpen you could see out the windows and watch the stars shine down brightly on earth. I could hear the typing on keyboards, pens dropping, paper and files being moved around, chairs rolling around, low sound of chatting and coffee machines. It was all comforting. The nice feeling of no hectic work day, but just enjoying silent work. I like sitting down reading and writing. Of course, there could be more enjoyable things to read and write about, since these things weren’t that nice. But I like to see the good things and think about how someone has to do this job.
And I like my collleagues. Which, is a good thing when working with profiling murders, bombers, arsonists, kidnappers or whoever comitted wild crimes.
Aaron Hotchner was still in his office, which wasn’t a surprise. By the time I’ve worked here I noticed how big of a workaholic Hotchner is. Spencer Reid had finished up, and left the workplace. JJ was still in her office aswell, as I sat next to Elle still. Derek Morgan wasn’t in the bullpen currently, but his things were still at his desk.
I sat there figdeting with the note feeling the dry texture of paper, frowning slightly. My hair behold my ears, as I had my arms resting on my desk. Elle turned in her chair, hearing the wheels on her chair rolling against the hard floor. I looked up infront of me, when I felt lingering eyes on me. Elle sat infront if me, her chocolate brown eyes studying me carefully, but curiously. “What?” I asked the brunette before me. She smiled a little at my acknowlegdment. “What are you doing?” She wondered, and leaned on her elbows with a black pen in between her fingers. She bit down on her bottom lip, letting it fall from her teeths grips, right when I answered. “I’m just..wondering who my secret admirer is.” I hesitated, looking around the bullpen a little, before my attention fell on her again. She let the pen fall from her fingers, looking down on her table. Her eyebrows were raised a little, as her lips turned downwards a little. “Yeah, you got a note earlier?” She said, almost like a question. Like she needed reassurance that it infact was a love note. Her voice turned down it’s volume, and became almost inaudible.
“Yes, I did” I replied, biting my own lips to not smile too much. I nodded, when I replied, with hot cheeks. When I answered I looked up at the ceiling like I was dreaming. I tried holding in a giggle, but it might’ve slipped just a little bit. Elle looked off to the side, before she shuffled in her black seat. Even though, when these nights came they were comforting I didn’t like the weird energy flowing between me and Elle. The bullpen grew quiet again, no loud sounds from anyone or anything. I put down the sticky note, and stuck it to my desk letting it lay there. Then right when I did that Derek walked in, and sat on the edge of Spencer’s desk. “Ladies, what do you say to a weekend in a beach house, with me, Garcia, JJ and Reid” His eyes shined with expectation and excitement. “Ooh, that sounds interesting. When?” I asked, grabbing the armrests on my chair. “From July 14th” He held a warm cup of coffee in his hand, that he took a sip from after his response. “Hold on” I looked through all of the things on my desk until I found my calender. I let my soft hands turn the pages until I found: ‘July 2006’
I wrote down my new plans as I answered Derek: “I don’t have any plans, I’ll go”
“What about you, Elle?” Right when he let that out and turned his head towards Elle, she widened her eyes, and froze. An unsteady sigh left her lips, as her eyes went back to normal. She looked between me and Derek before answering. I don’t know, why Elle was so take aback by such a simple invitation. Perhaps, she just wasn’t used to being with any of us outside of work. But she stuttered out a reply: “Uhm..I’ll find out if I can” She smiled just a little, before turning herself back to working.
Elle and I didn’t talk for the rest of the night exept for a: “Goodbye”
But it didn’t seem like Elle wanted to talk for the rest of the night. Maybe, I was too oblivious to the fact that Elle seemed unamused by the love-note I had recieved. And also so unamused by my reaction aswell. But one thing I know for sure is now I can look forward to a getaway at a beach house. It’s a good oppurtinity to learn more about my new coworkers and to get closer to them. I don’t know about any of the others, but to me it’s quite intimate to share a house. I know this could be either really awkward or one of the funniest experiences in my life. 50-50…right?
