Some new ways to use your phone to do what you usually do on a laptop.
As I’ve said in my blog posts before, you can do some really complex stuff on your phone that you would normally need a laptop to do. You can use your phone to do photo and video editing, you can run a website, you can dj your next party, and even take profesional level photos and video clips. This is especially true with flagship phones like the Galaxy S Ultra, iPhone Pro Max, LG V, Pixel Pro,…

New Medical Additions EMT Trauma Shears
When people have unobvious injuries you need to see where the leak is coming from. Even if they are conscious and able to tell you. Trauma Shears cut through all layers of clothing in one go. From the ankle of legwear, right up through the belt in a continuous motion. It's the same with plate carrier or chest rig and shirt with base layers. It needs to cut all the layers in one go leaving you a person in underwear to check for anywhere leaking. These Shears are a mini version to sit neatly behind pouches but they truly are mighty.
In addition they can cut cordage, boots, webbing etc
These are a professional product used my medics globally with well formed handles for extended use and comfort.
Part of the requested medical essentials for the prepared mindset

Women's Health: Daily habits that could be affecting your hormones
Hormones play a central role in the proper functioning of your body and overall health. They affect your menstrual cycle, fertility, bone health, mental and physical health. Your skin, weight, thyroid, energy levels, heart and breast health and much more.
These are some common habits that can influence hormonal balance:
Sleep: Irregular sleep can disturb hormone production, like cortisol, insulin, and growth hormones.
Diet: Eating lots of processed foods, unhealthy fats, and sugars while lacking essential nutrients can lead to hormonal imbalances. Extreme diets can also harm hormones.
Stress: Chronic stress releases cortisol, disrupting other hormones in the body.
Exercise: Too much or too little exercise can impact hormone levels. Overtraining raises cortisol, while being sedentary affects insulin sensitivity.
Caffeine and alcohol: Consuming too much caffeine or alcohol can affect hormone production and the endocrine system.
Plastic usage: Some plastics contain chemicals that disrupt hormones, especially when they leach into food and drinks.
Skincare and household products: Harmful chemicals in skincare and household items can act as hormone disruptors.
Medications and contraceptives: Some medications and birth control methods alter hormone levels.
Smoking: Smoking and secondhand smoke can disrupt hormones.
Environmental toxins: Exposure to pollutants like pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals in the environment act as endocrine disruptors, affecting hormone production and function.
Hydration: Staying hydrated is vital for hormone secretion and function.
Sunlight exposure: Natural sunlight helps regulate circadian rhythm and melatonin production, impacting other hormones.
Social interactions: Loneliness and social isolation affect hormone production and stress hormones.
Water bottles and food containers: Bisphenol A (BPA): Found in plastic bottles and containers, BPA can disrupt hormones when it seeps into food or drinks.
Laundry products: Some laundry products have chemicals that act as EDCs, impacting hormone balance through skin absorption.
Synthetic fabrics: Fabrics like polyester can cause increased sweating and heat retention, potentially affecting hormones.
Personal care products: Certain cosmetics and shampoos may contain harmful chemicals that interfere with hormone levels.
Intermittent fasting: Extreme fasting or calorie restriction may disrupt hormonal balance for some individuals.
Gut health: A healthy gut, supported by a balanced diet and probiotics, positively affects hormone metabolism.
Birth control methods: Hormonal contraceptives, like pills, patches, or IUDs, can influence hormone levels and affect individuals differently.

You don't need to EDC an entire toolbox, but the things that I find myself reaching for essentially constantly in my EDC is my flashlight, my pen, and my knife.
So, go out and get yourself a compact pocket light. A pen that's durable enough to carry but cheap enough to lose, (I am personally a fan of the pokka brand folding pens) and a decent folding knife.
If you are unfortunate enough to have girl pockets, My go-to light is going to be the streamlight microstream. It's tiny.
If you have bigger pockets, the macrostream/Protac 1L-1AA is a great choice. The 1L- 1aa is a triple fuel flashlight, accepting standard AA batteries, CR123, and 14500's.
Honestly, even though I have carried a 21700 light in the past, I wouldn't suggest going anything larger than an 18650 light. And I would probably suggest going smaller than that even.

I love this abstract ideal of everyday carry mentality.
How can you make sure emergency essentials and things you may need in urgent situations are always available?
For me that means stocking my purse with emergency medications, having sunglasses, binoculars, portable weather gear, some basic tools for quick-and-dirty repairs, emergency snacks. Basically every time I'm out and about and I run into something where I really wish I had some kind of tool or resource- I think to myself: "how can I get the functionality of that tool in something compact enough to fit in a sling bag?" Then I find a way to make it happen.
Unfortunately it feels like the online EDC community spends most of their time on knives so it's hard to actually piece together the more practical advice. Don't get me wrong they're cool knives but I want to know about the creative ways of fitting functionality in a small package. I actually get better info on practical everyday carry items from disability related threads.

I really think thigh/hip/drop leg bags/purses should be more popular. More stylish fanny packs and you don't have to constantly worry about setting it somewhere like a purse/satchel.

And they absolutely work for men too. I rarely ever see them, yet they seem like they would be a fantastic solution for your everyday essentials. Personally I don't generally need to carry much every day and have found a way to distribute my edc gear into various pockets. There are times when I've needed to keep more items on my person due to medical reasons so I got a small backpack/satchel, but it is larger than necessary and annoying to have slung over my shoulder. I feel like these drop leg style bags would be especially useful for people who need to carry medical equipment when they leave the house, like epi pens, diabetic equipment, etc.

I just think they're neat.

NEW NAME ! Since its inception our bottle opener was named KMR1, as Kimera the 1st , for a lack of better idea, well no more ! Did you knew that sea otters are the smallest of the marine mammals but also the most dexterous? They use stones as hammers to pry open shellfish and keep a favorite rock that they store in one of their underarm pockets, carrying it with them wherever they go ! We had no idea, but loved the similarity with our opener ! So we introduce to you THE RAKKO, which translate to sea otter in Japanese, echos phonetically to Kimera and connects to the sense of minimalism we try to adopt in our products. photograph by Marlin Harms
