Get with the program, Y/n
Tumblr media
Genre: SOL, Smut, drama
Pairing: sub! non-idol!Choi Beomgyu x "Weird" fem! Dom! reader
Warning: Cross-dressing? spanking, thigh riding,
Summary: Y/n is sorta new to Dullington and has already branded herself as the weird girl. Her weird personality, weird wardrobe and strange interests causing disruption among everyone in town.
EXPECT A PT2 (I swear this won't turn out like iceberg T T)
----------------------------
Left.
Right.
Left.
Middle.
Is how Y/n decided she was going to walk amongst the squares of the hallway.
"Oh my gosh, she is literally so weird." A girl snickered.
Of course, she was blonde with her giant water bottle in front of her face to 'hide' her cruel words.
"Bitch, you weird." Y/n said flipping her purple braids continuing her journey to her creative writing class. "HHS, the worst school to attend if you have a personality." She huffed, walking into the classroom.
Y/n was everything she wasn't. She was patient, but short tempered. Forgiving, but the most petty. The only thing that made sense in her personality was her free spirit.
When she walked into the class she was met with smell of detergent and bland air. Everyone was jean clad and basic colored t-shirt wearing losers. She wasn't one to talk since she was wearing ripped jeans and plaid leggings and a long sleeve shirt that was cropped enough to show off her belly ring. It was a basic outfit, but not as basic as everyone else's everyday wear.
"Y/n, welcome. You're failing this class." The teacher blurted, causing students to snicker. This teacher was kind of scared of Y/n.
"What? Why? HOW!" Y/n asked, shook. She was literally the best writer.
"I said write about a TRUE event." He announced once the girl sat in her seat. "You wrote about skydiving in Canada and landing in a cornfield." He continued.
"But I did do that." Y/n groaned, softly throwing her head on the table.
Her head immediately popped up. "If you don't believe that, then you really won't believe I fed lion cubs in New Delhi." She laughed, showing her Lock Screen of her feeding a lion cub. The teacher threw his old veiny hand at her.
"Anyway class. Our A+ student is going to read his writing." Mr. Teacher happily sang.
Choi Beomgyu. The boring of the boring. Good golly. Y/n'd give anything to wipe that straight line off his face. Like damn, smile. "I went to my aunts how on Christmas and our tree caught on fire." He started. Y/n zoned out and nearly fell asleep while doing so. 10 minutes later he finished.
"How did it take you 10 minutes to finish that boring story?" Y/n asked.
"Dude? That was so entertaining, he literally watched a firefighter put out a fire. You're weird bro." A guy said across the table.
"My kitchen caught on fire and my cousin got carbon monoxide poisoning, but weirdly she's not dead. Just cockeyed."
"That's not funny. You need help." He cringed, moving seats.
"Beomgyu, meet with Y/n please. Hopefully you rub off on her." The teacher mumbled with his hands over his eyes. Beomgyu slowly walked towards the girl, silently hoping she didn't say much.
"Hello gyu." She smiled at him.
"Beomgyu." he corrected, "I have your paper, so like, I'll read it then tell you about it at lunch." He slowly and awkwardly said, walking away.
-----------------------------------
Lunch rolled around. "How would he know I'm here?" She slowly mumbled looking around the library.
"I figured you'd eat in a weird place." He dully said.
"It's the library. What's weird about that?" She said shifting to lay on her other arm.
"Well it's not the lunchroom for one." Your face contorted into annoyance as he spoke with no emotion.
"Lighten up, smile." Y/n pushed his shoulder.
"No, you need to get with the program. you're weird okay?"
"Okay then." Y/n rolled her eyes. "Teach me how not to be weird." She said, picking up her chopsticks to eat. She began eating when she heard dry laughter.
"You want me to teach YOU to be normal? You don't even hold your chopsticks right." He continued on with his laughing fit.
"Damn your laugh stiff as hell." Y/n laughed.
He immediately stopped, "I'll teach you to be normal."
Y/n had a plan. Mhm, you were gonna get that boy to get used to doing things your way. Beomgyu was top boy at the school so there wasn't a soul aching to be any different to him.
"Wanna come over to my house and analyze things?" You asked standing. The boy nodded pulling out his lunch. 'Gosh, he even eats boring.' You thought. It's the same each time. He lifts his sandwich, bites softly, puts it down, chews a few times, and repeat. It was kinda gross.
"You have a little mayo on your lip." The girl said, watching as his tongue lapped up the white substance. He nodded in return. He stared up at you where he momentarily stopped chewing.
"Why are you watching me?" The boy said, after making a face trying to swallow.
"You eat weird."
"You too."
And with that both teens took bites out of their lunch, side eyeing the other.
-----------------------------------
Y/n spotted the boy at the entrance, he was looking around. Like he was waiting for something. Could this guy be anymore strange?
"Do you have a car or like take the bus?" He finally asked.
"I ride a bike."
"I walk, so don't go too fast or else I can't keep up."
"You could just get on the back."
"I don't think that is how you ride a bike."
"Gosh, your childhood must've been lame." Y/n groaned, pulling her bike from the rack.
"That is far too decorated, you should invest in a solid colored bike."
She looked at the boy sharply. The bike had a few jewels placed on it in her early teen years.
"Fuck off."
"You should also stop swearing."
He was met with a huff.
After 10 minutes of walking side by side you grew impatient, "Could you just hop on the damn bike so we can get there before night?" The purple haired girl snapped getting on the bike to which the boy followed suit.
"I'm only doing this because I'm tired of walking."
The teens finally got to the house after another 10 minutes which could have been 5-7 minutes had the boy not've been screaming for the girl to go slower every time her foot touched the pedal.
She turned around to sneak a look at the boy who's jaw was basically on the ground. "Why is your house normal!?" Beomgyu yelled out. "I don't know, maybe because I am normal." Y/n snapped, pushing the bike into the grass and bringing the boy inside your house. "The interior is normal too." He whispered.
After showing him around he was stunned. He just couldn't fathom someone like the purple haired girl living in a house that wasn't bright green and didn't have dead animals set up as decoration. "Welcome to my room." She said stepping in front of him with your arms out.
"Why do you have so many lights?"
"Stuffed animals? What're you 8?"
"I suggest investing in an photo album—"
blah. blah. blah. He was talking for so long the girl had time to change her whole outfit, inside the closet of course, to something more comfortable.
"Shut the fuck up please." She said sitting in the desk chair.
"You're still wearing skirts? I thought girls stopped after 8?"
"Yea, wanna try it on?"
"What? Boys can't wear skirts."
"Mhmm~ wanna see?"
The girl began pulling up some videos of twitter that she had saved for personal use. His eyes attached to the screen. "Aren't they pretty?"
She slid over to the next one. "Aww Beomgyu isn't he the cutest."
Beomgyu stared at Y/n with big eyes as you kept complimenting those boys. Cheeks becoming pink as his eyebrows furrowed. After calling the last boy gorgeous he fled the room.
"What the fuck"
He came back slowly walking in. His milky white thighs exposed by the skirt. His shirt was off, but he still hugged it against himself.
"Am I cute like those boys?"
"You're fucking gorgeous."
Y/n completely focused on the boy as he came closer. He reached for the phone that was releasing incredibly lewd sounds. He stood there for a moment biting his lips as his excitement became more visible.
"How about you come sit here pretty." You suggested, pointing at your lap.
"okay" He whispered coming to wrap around Y/n's waist.
Y/n instant wrapped her hands around his little hips digging into them. He released a little moan and grinded himself on her thigh. His face flushed and he covered his face with his hand.
"You can keep going."
He stayed still for a moment, face still covered, before he slowly pushed up against your thigh.
"Go ahead and uncover that cute little face."
He didn't listen because he was of course still Beomgyu. Y/n did what any Dom would do to a bratty boy.
Smack right to the ass cheek.
He gasped, but remained.
Smack.
"lemme see you."
Smack.
"uncover your face."
Smack.
"c'mon, this isn't pretty behavior."
Smack.
"Beom—"
His hands wrapped around the girls as he used them to go a little faster. The pressure between Y/n's legs became too much to handle as she began sweating because of the desperate boy who whimpered with every movement. She began slowly grinding yourself onto his knee that was conveniently place right in front of her clit.
The girl peppered kisses onto his milky chest leading up to his neck while twisting his nipples. The boy released loud squeals of pleasure causing him to push his head into your neck. Just to drive him a little more nuts she squeezed his tip causing hot pre-cum to cover her hand.
"Ah fuck!" he moaned in response.
"Don't say those words baby." She said pushing her thumb against his mouth. He nodded at your words before taking your thumb on his palate. She noticed that Beomgyus hips had become more quick and short.
"Are you gonna cum?"
"Mhm, I'm gonna do it soon." He whined with his eyes closed.
Beomgyu held a sharp breath as came undone.
"Fuck beomgyu don't hold your breath for so long." She laughed not even bothering to finish Herself off.
Out of breath, he got up.
"So, I'm gonna go home now." He said running out of the room, not bothering to take his clothes with him.

From a 6-year old child artist to Swiggy Uncle!
This Vadi Bro has come a long way !!
03 May, 2023 I Richa Devesar I FilmyPeople
Tumblr media
If you have passion for something and keep on working towards that, you are surely going to get it, one day! Now its up to you whether you  call it Destiny or your Dedication…Swiggy Uncle has proved it both ways! How? Lets rewind his journey as an actor and get to know how he did it all?
Naresh Gosain, a mechanical Engineer by profession was passionate about acting since childhood. He started acting on stage when he was just six years old. It took him 50 years to reach where he is today. Hours, days, months and years’ of work could not give him what a 20 Sec Silent TVC did. It was not just a matter of chance that even after doing dozens of serials, hundreds of Street plays, and so many appearances in Big Budget Bollywood movies, he could not get the appreciation he had been looking for but he feels ‘God has been kind to have given me all this at this age because if he had given all this earlier, who knows I might have got vanished from the scene by now.’ Now, that is what we call positive attitude!
Before getting to know the Gulab Jamun Waale Uncle’s journey (as he’s fondly known), let me share few things which I remember of him as a child. In those days, he was acting in Doordarshan Serials Dil Dariya, Doosra Kewal and Phir Wohi Talaash. We felt really proud of the fact that my Maasi’s son is coming on Television. Unlike today, those were the Doordarshan days when everyone was watching the same thing at the same time, unlike today when the audience is segregated.
Tumblr media
We are basically a very filmy family and I give all the credit to my Daddy and Mummy for this. Music, movies all this has been part of our lives since the time, I was not even born. So when Babbu Bhaiya (as we call him) got in to acting , we would look forward to hear all Filmy Stories from him. Infact, I got to know about Shahid Kapoor’s existence as a 10 year old when bhaiya was working in the serial  Phir Wohi Talaash (way back in 1990) with actress Neelima Azeem who had this very happy-go-lucky , jovial type youthful, college going girl’s character. He told us that she is a 28 year old woman and has a 10 year old son which was unbelievable.  We just could not believe that! And yes I do remember his dialogue in one of the episodes which was  ‘Kaad diya…..unko kaad diya’ (they have been thrown out).
And now…everyday we are seeing him in new TVCs be it Bisleri, Dr. Fixit, Netmeds, Goldie Masaale and so on. Success did come to him but after giving 50 dedicated years of his life. Does he have grudges or he is smiling the way he smiles while eating Gulab Jamun in Swiggy TVC? Before we ask him about his journey, how about having a look at some of his best TVCs!
Lets rewind and talk to him from where it all  started!
When did you first realize that you wanted to act?
It was not that I realized or something. Initially, it just happened, as my father was a theatre actor and a writer too, I would often accompany him during his rehearsals and one fine day he asked me to act..and with that began my acting journey. I acted in a lot of plays as a child artist. And this I’m talking about 1968 when I was hardly six years old and now that I’m talking of my childhood days, I can recall that I got my first award in 1972 in a theatre festival in Delhi which was quite motivating for me in that young age, although I didn’t understand the seriousness of acting that time.
In 70s and 80s, Doordarshan was the only channel we had and coming on Television was not a small thing. What memories do you have of your initial days?
In those days, actors got much more popularity because Doordarshan had the monopoly. If I talk about myself, I was working regularly with DD for various types of shows and family and friends used to appreciate that because it was a big thing back then. It reminds me of an incident, Doordarshan would telecast one Special New Year Show every year which used to have audience just the way we have now in reality shows. So whenever I got a chance to be there in that new year show, as an audience my friends would get very excited..Arrey tujhe dekha tha! And afterwards when I started acting in serials, though in small roles, I always got a positive response from family and friends.
And how and when did acting in Doordarshan happen?
Doordarshan was the only Channel we had back in 70s and 80s and I was lucky enough to have bagged my first Telefilm in the year 1981. In those days, it wasn’t easy to get a break but I got a chance to show my talent when Doordarshan started Morning Transmission somewhere in mid 80s and I did, mostly comedy serials like Hamaare manager, Popat lal Jasoos, Jeena Yahaan Marna Yahaan and few more. Then  I happen to meet Director Lekh Tandon who after directing some very big movies like Agar Tum Na Hote, Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaae, Professor, Aamrapali, Jhuk Gaya Aasmaan and so many more, came to Delhi to make serials for  Doordarshan.  I met him during that time only when he was directing Dil Dariya and Doosra Kewal for Doordarshan.
Tumblr media
If I remember it correctly Dil Dariya was Shah Rukh Khan’s debut serial although the one that got aired on TV was Fauji, Right? How was the experience? Any incident of those days you can recall?
Absolutely right! Although I got to play a small role in that serial but as I was involved in production too, I was there on the sets everyday.  And you just asked about any incident. So I have an interesting thing to tell…I remember we were shooting for Doosra Kewal. We had to shoot a song and were looking for a particular location so I asked Lekh Tandon ji to shoot the same at my terrace. As soon as we finished the shoot, Shah Rukh said that his serial Circus is going to be telecast just now and he wanted to see it. We all came downstairs and he watched that episode of Circus with my whole family and that too sitting on the floor. He was already a big TV star by then and so humble was he…I offered him chair…but he said ‘No..I am Okey here.’ And we were all very friendly with each other be it Shah Rukh or other actors  like Arun Baliji, Vinita Malikji and Alka Amin (who was seen in Kedarnath as Sushant Singh Rajput’s mother) and I also remember that Arun Bali ji and Vinita Malik ji were the highest paid actors of this serial.
Tumblr media
So, the shooting of all these serials was being done in Delhi only and did you continue with theatre also while doing DD serials?
While I was working in DD serials, I was also doing Public Awareness Campaigns because in those days, we used to have lots of such Govt campaigns running on Doordarshan. I continued doing theatre too but this time it was Ramleela and starting from year 1993, I continued playing Kumbhkaran for over 25 years at the Ramleela of Model Town 2, New Delhi. Then in the year 2000, I started doing Street Plays for private as well as Govt Sector and these kept me busy for years.
When did you first come to Mumbai for an acting assignment? What was that about? And which directors you worked with, initially?
I went to Mumbai for the first time in 1989. It was for the shooting of a TV serial called Sadbhaavna again for Doordarshan which was directed by Raj Tilakji who had already directed films like Mukti starring Shashi Kapoor, Sanjeev Kumar and Vidya Sinha and 36 Ghante starring Raj Kumar, Sunil Dutt and Mala Sinha and many more. After doing Sadbhavna,  I started coming to Mumbai frequently. Although it was one scene or two and the first movie I did was Manorama Six Feet Under.  Then I got a chance to work with Subhash Ghai ji in Kanchi.
youtube
Rajat Kapoor was another director, I got a chance to work with in the movie Aankhon Dekhi.  Then Dibaakar Banerjee..with whom I worked in Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, then Vicky Donor happened with Shoojit Sarkar. Infact, I was in all 3 projects of Mirzapur Director Gurmmeet Singh - What The Fish, (in which I had a good role but unfortunately the film didn’t do well at the box office)Warning and Sharaafat Gai Tel Lene and years later I got a chance to work with him in Mirzapur too.  Roles were small but good thing was that I was getting work.
What made you decide to permanently move to Mumbai? Did you get family support?
When I was doing serials Chidiya Ghar and Laapata Ganj that time, I seriously thought of moving to Mumbai. It was around 2012 that I started getting regular work…all the films that I just mentioned. But yes, permanently I decided to shift my base here was after Swiggy TVC happened, that has been the biggest turning point in my career. And yes, when I decided to move to Mumbai permanently, my family did support me. And moreover,  I could afford to be away from home and give it a shot as my kids were grown up and busy in their own lives and I had my mother and wife Meenu’s full support to go ahead with my decision of giving it a shot.
How did you get Swiggy TVC? Did you have any idea that it would be the biggest turning point of your career? Any big complements you received from your industry friends?
I still remember I was in Delhi doing my awareness campaigns and in between that, I got a call for audition of this Swiggy Ad. I recorded my audition video there only on my mobile and sent it. Although I wanted to get selected but wasn’t sure. But I was selected and there I was shooting for that Ad which changed my life and there has been no looking back since then.
I got lot of popularity because of the Swiggy campaign. The thing is that nowadays the audience is divided..in a way that some people watch only movies, some…crime thrillers, some like to watch family shows, some…news but Ad is one thing which everyone watches and it comes on every platform and this Swiggy TVC came during IPL season and that’s the reason it got even more visibility. The Ad campaign really helped Swiggy and their sales increased by 45%.
My friends Vinay Pathak and Saurabh Shukla gave me complements. They said the way you hold your expressions and smile, is amazing. Kya kamaal ki ad ki hai tuney. I have been doing like this for so many years now but the only thing is that when God’s blessings come, things just change and the same thing happened with me.
How easy was it shifting to TVCs? How do you look at the whole thing?
Doing TVCs was not a planned move, first of all. It just happened. The thing is that when you are doing theatre, reaction is instant. One story is told in 2 hours in a film, in a series it takes 10-12 episodes but when it comes to an ad, you have to tell the story in just 15-20 secs which is not an easy thing. I got to learn so much while doing TVCs. On other hand all my experience came in handy when I started doing ads. I have not had any formal training in Acting, but I have hands-on experience of 55 years. Everyday, I am doing something new which is challenging and satisfying at the same time.
You have worked in some Short Films also, how was that experience?
So far working in short films has been one of the best experiences and I enjoyed working in The Honeymooners and Shagun. I am emotionally attached to The Honeymooners, actually. There is whole variety of roles that I am doing now and it is very surprising that at this age I’m doing things that I never thought, I would ever do, especially after crossing 60. Bojh was another short film that I did. Also I did few bigger Ads which had a storyline especially the ones done for Valentine’s Day and Father’s Day.
youtube
You have worked in some Web Series also. Tell us about that experience? And your upcoming projects also?
Yes I have done few Web Series like Mirzapur, Inside Edge, Illegal and few more to come. Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper is the next Web Series I’m waiting for then there’s one more Jhaansi ka Rajkumar. Plus TVCs are going on. One with Ranbir has just started coming and Vadilal campaign also started recently and after Swiggy Uncle they’ve shown me as Vadi Bro…it has that youthful touch with lots of colours. I’m loving every bit of it.
Your experience of working with actors like Akshay Kumar, Virat Kohli , Anushka, Alia and Ranbir Kapoor?
The experience has been great. They’ve all been very nice. Ranbir Kapoor is one humble actor I have worked with. I had a great time shooting with Virat and Anushka too. One of the ads we did together was about eating  and they brought Rajma Chaawal from their home. Since he is also from Delhi I told him it has this typical DIlli-wala taste and we ll enjoyed shooting as well as eating.

Do you have any grudges that all this success and fame came your way very late or you are enjoying it?
I am grateful to God. I feel that if I had got success some 20-30 years ago, I might not have been in the industry today. God has really been kind and I have no grudges at all.
How does it feel living your childhood dream?
Although I have been acting for so many years now and I have always given my 100 % whether it was  serials or movies or street plays but the kind of stuff I got to do after my Swiggy TVC is something I am really enjoying. I never imagined that I would get such amazing roles to play and trust me God has really been kind and there’s much more to come. Its all God’s grace. I have been working consistently for last 50 years but got showered with all the name and fame now and its all God’s blessing.
I would personally recommend you all to watch these two Festival Spl TVCs and you will have an idea how good Swiggy Uncle is with his facial expressions.

On the afternoon of February 14, Junaid Khan, 32, and his nephew Nasir Khan, 25, left their small village of Ghatmeeka in India’s northwestern state of Rajasthan to attend a family function. They didn’t come back.
“When they didn’t return the same night, we got worried,” says Arshad Khan, 44, Junaid’s brother-in-law. “Their phones were switched off as well. We searched for them the whole day.”
Two days later, the men’s bodies were found inside a burned-out vehicle in the village of Loharu, around 240 kilometers away in the neighboring state of Haryana. On their way home after midnight, members of a far-right extremist group had allegedly abducted, tortured, and killed the men, who are Muslims, on suspicion of smuggling cows—animals that are considered sacred by Hindus. Consuming beef and transporting cattle is not illegal, but several states have passed restrictive laws over the past few years, essentially criminalizing a profession that is dominated by Muslims.
“Why did they have to be killed? What was their fault?” Khan says. “Who will look after their poor families now?”
Among the group suspected by police of murdering Junaid and Nasir is 28-year-old Monu Manesar, a high-profile YouTuber who has built a huge following online with his videos of cow vigilantism. Manesar, who is reportedly now on the run, is one of a large ecosystem of sectarian influencers on Indian social media who have benefited from the country’s nationalistic turn under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Human rights advocates say that their content—which is prevalent across Western-owned platforms—is exacerbating social division, and even leading to vigilante attacks on religious minorities.
“We have laws against hate speech that are being used selectively,” Aakar Patel, chair of Amnesty International India says. “Hate speech is allowed both by the government and the social media companies.”
In an email statement, YouTube spokesperson Jack Malon says that YouTube has suspended monetization on Manesar’s channel for violating its creator responsibility policy. “We also removed 9 videos from the channel in question for violating our harassment policies,” he said.
For the past five years, Manesar—a leading member of the Bajrang Dal, a far-right Hindu group—has been part of a team of cow vigilantes along the Rajasthan-Haryana border, and has uploaded videos of their attacks, predominantly on Muslims, to YouTube. His posts often begin with a car chase in the dark and end with group members posing with a cow they have “rescued.”
Manesar and his group have made no secret of the violence they subject their victims to. In June 2016, he was one of a number of people who appeared in a video in which two Muslim men were stopped in Badarpur border, South East Delhi, and forced to eat a concoction of cow dung, urine, milk, and curd. The men had been accused of smuggling beef. The video went viral on Twitter.
In one of his videos on YouTube, Manesar's team is even seen shooting at a truck driven by someone they accuse of being a cow smuggler, in an attempt to deflate its tires.
In January this year, Manesar and his team caught three Muslim men they accused of being cow smugglers. They livestreamed on Facebook as they interrogated the men. One of the men, 22-year-old Waaris Khan, died from internal injuries the same day. His family says he was lynched, but police say he died in an accident. The Facebook Live video has since been deleted.
Manesar also has posted routinely on Instagram—where he has 42,000 followers—including images of people he’s alleged to be cow smugglers, often visibly injured. In April 2022, he posted a video on his Instagram account showing a group of men assaulting a Muslim scrap picker with sticks. The caption reads, “These are the scrap-pickers that throw stones at our soldiers and Hindutva supporters.”
Meta did not respond to a request for comment.
Khan said that people in his region are aware of Manesar’s social media. “It is supposed to send a message to us,” he says.
In October 2022, YouTube awarded Manesar a silver play button for crossing 100,000 followers. YouTube’s literature says that Creator Awards are not automatically given when subscriber targets are hit, but are granted at the discretion of the company, which reviews channels before handing out the rewards. YouTube did not respond to a request for comment on Manesar’s award.
Comments under Manesar’s videos are mostly adulatory, thanking him and his team for his “service.” He has also had official endorsements. He’s posted pictures of himself with police officers and bureaucrats. In October 2021, Haryana police included him in a special task force to prevent cow smuggling. Three huge rallies were organized by right-wing organizations on February 19, 21, and 22.
On February 24, thousands of people took to the street in Rajasthan and Haryana to demand justice for Junaid and Nasir Khan. The police filed a complaint against more than 500 people for blocking the highway and suspended internet service in the district for three days, citing the possibility of communal tension.
Human rights groups say that sectarianism has flourished in the political environment created by Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party. The party has routinely equated national and religious identities, accusing people who criticize its politics of being anti-Hindu, while itself being accused of promoting hate speech against Muslims. In January, the government forced social media platforms to block clips of a controversial BBC documentary about Modi’s alleged involvement in intercommunal violence in 2002.
The government has banned hundreds of YouTube channels for spreading “fake news” or promoting “anti-Indian views.” But at the same time, there has been a proliferation of channels that broadcast extreme nationalist rhetoric.
In June 2022, a report by the NYU Stern Center for Business and Human Rights found that sectarian content was widespread in India. “The most troubling abuse of YouTube in India involves the targeting of Muslims by backers of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and other right-leaning Hindu nationalist groups.” The report concluded. “Religious intolerance long predated the arrival of YouTube in India, but widespread social media use has intensified the hostility.”
In December 2022, an investigation by The Caravan found dozens of Hindu nationalist YouTube channels that were broadcasting extremist content, with viewing figures in the hundreds of millions. Senior BJP leaders had been interviewed on some of the channels, which were “rapidly out-performing mainstream news channels in terms of their reach.”
Amnesty International’s Patel says that the proliferation is partly due to the growth of the platforms and the number of people now using them, “and partly because of the fact that hate speech has been condoned. If you make heroes out of people who abuse minorities and are violent, you will encourage more people to follow that path.”
Some nationalist and sectarian YouTubers have built massive followings, including Vikas Pathak, who had more than 800,000 followers on his Hindustani Bhau channel before it was suspended in 2020, after he posted a video in which he threatened to sexually assault a YouTuber from Pakistan. Days after his suspension, he managed to start another channel, which has 83,000 subscribers. He also has 2.2 million followers on Instagram.
Prem Krishnavanshi, a YouTuber from Uttar Pradesh with just over 87,000 subscribers, has built a career on pop songs aimed toward supporters of Hindutva, or Hindu nationalism. The lyrics of one of Krishnavanshi’s songs, released in 2019, roughly translates to, “You are not humans, you are butchers. Enough of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood.”
“The anti-Muslim online hate industry is booming and the companies are benefiting from it,” says Alishan Jafri, co-author of the Caravan report.
Malon, the YouTube spokesperson, says that the company removed more than 156,000 videos in the third quarter of 2022 for violating hate speech policies.
“Beyond removing harmful content, we also leverage our recommendations system and monetization tools, to promote a healthy ecosystem,” the statement read. “YouTube has always had clear community guidelines that outline what is allowed on the platform and we remove flagged videos and comments that violate our policies. These policies are global, meaning we apply them consistently to all creators on the platform, regardless of their background, political viewpoint, position or affiliation.”
Malon also says that creators can be penalized for abuse or violence that occurs off its platform.
As of February 28, Manesar’s YouTube channel was still active. He has added about 7,000 subscribers since the Khans’ deaths.
India is YouTube’s largest market, with 467 million users—nearly twice as many as the US.
Prateek Waghre, the policy director of the Internet Freedom Foundation, a digital rights group, says that YouTube’s recommendation algorithms may be partially to blame for the spread of this sectarian content. “YouTube has not been particularly open about its recommender system,” he says. “But the algorithm typically prioritizes engagement. If you watch a certain type of content, it will look to feed a similar type of content.”
Waghre says that detecting hate speech is complex in India, where people often switch between languages. But, he says, social media companies tend to be slow to react when alerted to potentially dangerous content. “Even inaction is a form of action,” he says. “Until it becomes a significant PR crisis, they tend not to take action. Sadly, this is consistent behavior across platforms. These companies need to think about how they perceive their neutrality.”
But Waghre also says he suspects that social media companies are nervous about going after nationalist figures, in case a backlash threatens their business interests. “If you take action against a popular right-wing figure, there is a good chance you might be targeted in some way or the other,” he says.
Patel says that more violence is inevitable as hate speech continues to spread, online and offline. “I am 53 years old,” he says. “I have not seen tensions running so high permanently through the country.”

Saatvick’s Summer 2022
This year’s summer was actually quite memorable, last time I remember having such a summer was in 2018,
The year I visited Singapore, played an Asian Tennis Tournament and got International ranking. 2018 was also the last year I spent in Delhi before moving to Shillong because of my father’s posting . He is in Army and I have been to quite a lot of places with him.
2022 Summer was great because this summer was probably the first summer closest to the summers before Covid.
I did travel a lot during covid but not one of my trips were as long as this one.
Summer began with a sense of relief as my first Board exams ended, I was now a Highschool senior with way more responsibilities than before. I had a more clear direction of what I want to do when I grow up and have had the chance to revive many hobbies activities since my 10th was all academics. I did a lot of career counselling .
This summer, that I cant thank enough, was a checkpoint, it made me more calm. I had time more than enough to organise and orient myself and my activities.
The first thing I did when the exams ended was to fix my sleep schedule and sleep peacefully for a few days. After a week full of binging the series I missed out on I scheduled a daily and weekly routine which included swimming, reading, working out and Tennis.
It was a very hard motion to set for me to play tennis straight after breaking my wrist in 2019, I was willingly not playing tennis because of one simple reason, regret of not playing for an entire year and I kept on running away from it till this summer.
I visited my hometown and met most of my relatives which made me feel loved, we could not participate much in family events recently over the last few years because of our busy schedules so this was also a once in a blue moon kind of an adventure for me. We visited many more cities with our buddy Woofy, he is a Labrador . We went on long drives to a few other places.
I also met a lot of my friends during the vacation.
Then on we took a tour of Delhi, the place where we live. I got an electric guitar too which I used to annoy everyone within the range of my amplifier. It was a great experience for me maybe because I was out of the same old cycle, that I followed for an year.
10th grade sure did teach me discipline and consistency.
I visited my father, who is posted in Manipur, I travelled through flight alone .  he is posted at an extremely remote region which is about 30 km from Myanmar. That was a great way to escape the Delhi heat at its prime( It was 45 degrees when I left).
Hiking, football and travelling to numerous places were the highlight of this trip.
Life is simpler on hills, nature finds its way to one no matter what.
I cant even count the number of places Ive seen and people Ive met. I gained experience and knowledge.
It was cloudy all day there with bright sunshines intermediately, comically the heat of the sun was comforting since it was raining everyday there. We could hear the wind whistle at dark where no lights could be seen far off. The  clouds even visited the habitants who had settled at the top of the mountains. Rivers, waterfalls and tribal villages were the best part of the trip.
Every glimpse was a painting.
I followed a strict Detox diet with my father and was forced to eat and drink stuff I couldn’t even pronounce, did yoga and meditation.
I have had the habit of touring whatever work my fathers been appointed for, he was in DRDO & RCI once, from where I picked up the interest of aeronautics and astronomy. Currently he is in NHAI so I got to learn various processes involved in making roads, believe me its not as simple as just laying concrete down on fields, it took me five days to just process what I saw there.
I visited museums, monuments and labs.
I tried to play video games but they bored me.
I could only bake till the day I learnt to cook food and learnt recipes and become more self reliant .
Music has been a companion to me throughout this journey.
And social media too, I posted literally everything even after the several attempts I did to reduce it influence on me, but I dont regret it either way because my vacation was productive and I enjoyed it.
I grew taller over the days and starting smiling more frequently. I learnt a lot of things, and revived old habits.I finished school syllabus for the first exams before school started.
I came home to find our two turtles greeting me with their intense paddles in their pool and raise their necks high up to see me. My Summer was very rewarding. It was spent exploring and discovering the very little of life that I knew of.
I returned to Delhi a day before the school reopened and hyped myself to start a new academic year with hardwork and devotion. I finally created a list of things I wanted to achieve by the end of 2022.

DO’S & DON’TS OF BREASTFEEDING — Kanupriya Khanna
Tumblr media
Breastfeeding can be an overwhelming experience, especially for new mothers. They often find multiple breastfeeding tips from the internet and from their friends/family which creates more confusion than ever. Some mothers often rely on various breastfeeding meal plans they find on the internet that may not be the most reliable.
In this article, we are going to look at some proven Do’s and Don’ts of breastfeeding.
Do’s of breastfeeding
Start breastfeeding immediately after birth
The sooner you start, the better. Start feeding your baby immediately after birth. Nowadays most hospitals will encourage the first feed right after delivery. Keep trying even if the breastmilk appears to be slow or less. The more you try the more it will get better.
Go for warm baths and massages
Warm baths are proven to improve the flow of milk. Take a warm bath or gently apply a hot water bag to your breast before feeding your baby.
Recognizing symptoms that your baby is hungry
Sometimes a baby may not cry when hungry. Some other signs of your baby’s hunger include your baby starts pushing out his/her tongue, licking lips, bringing his/her hands near the mouth, etc.
Change your baby’s diaper
Multiple studies have shown that babies take the feed better when they are wearing a clean and dry diaper.
Prioritize cleanliness
Before breastfeeding, make sure you wash your hands and wipe your breasts with a damp cloth. Repeat the process after every feed. Following the cleanliness procedure will make sure there is no milk residue, sweat, or any lotion on you that could create any health issues in your child.
Sterilize
Sterilization is an important step for breastfeeding moms. If you are using breastfeeding accessories like breast shields, breast pumps then make sure you sterilize them properly after every use.
Stay hydrated
Drinking plenty of water will make sure that there is adequate milk production to meet your baby’s demands.
Take care of your diet
What goes inside your body will go into your baby too. Regular intake of protein and vitamins is important to keep your baby and yourself healthy.
Don’ts of Breastfeeding
Initially, breastfeeding can be difficult but don’t give up. Give yourself some time to get used to it.
If you experience any pain or sore nipples, then immediately talk to your doctor and get yourself the necessary treatment.
Avoid eating painkillers or any other medicines without your doctor’s prescription
Your mood can affect your milk flow. So, avoid breastfeeding your child when you are feeling angry, stressed or depressed.
Avoid eating spicy food and foods that can cause gas or constipation.
Don’t feed any complementary solids until your baby is six months old.
If you need expert guidance on nutrition, and post-natal health then, contact Kanupriya Khanna, a Sr. Consultant Nutritionist & Child Nutrition Specialist in Delhi. She can help you in making your journey more joyful and less worrisome.
