i hate when someone will voice a very valid complaint about the misogynoir present in hotd and how it sidelines baela and rhaena only to follow it with “baela and rhaena should have been angry at rhaenyra for stealing driftmark from them!” um, no, these were never feelings they had towards rhaenyra in the books and it tells me you don’t actually care about them as characters, you simply want tools to make Rhaenyra look bad.
It’s so paper thin, especially when these posts fanatasize about Baela and Rhaena hating Rhaenyra for stealing their birthright and not Corlys. You know, the one who named Luke as his heir? Or how about Laenor, the one who never wavered on the assertion that they were trueborn? You are not complaining about their personalities that were erased, their hobbies, their likes and dislikes, even their bland and uninspiring styling, just that they aren’t a mouthpiece for your anti Rhaenyra opinions. You don’t care about them as characters in their own right which makes you just as bad the writers who sidelined them in the first place. Sorry 🤷♀️

People are coming for Alicent’s throat for supposedly marrying Aegon with Helaena, even if this is never truly stated in the show and in the book it is Viserys who forces them to be married, but we’re all forgetting that Rhaenyra does the exact same thing with her two eldest sons.
Did she ever ask Jace and Luke whether they want to be married to their cousins? No. She does everything she can to gain power and supporters. But when it was Rhaenyra that was forced to marry Laenor, or literally any other man of her choosing, then we were supposed to feel devastated that her autonomy is stripped away. Like, which one is it HBO? Are arranged marriages bad or not? Or is it okay as long as it isn’t Rhaenyra the one who gets the short end of the stick?
And what’s maddening is that this gets brushed off and everyone involved seems more than happy with this arrangement. How convenient for her. Rhaenyra does to her children exactly what Viserys did to his but we’re not even batting an eye. The show is so obviously biased towards Rhaenyra that it bores me.

🚨 HOTD LEAKS/SPOILERS 🚨
According to some of the HOTD leaks Baela and Rhaena are going to get some bigger scenes this season and I am SO EXCITED!
I always thought reading Fire & blood that Rhaena and Baela seemed really interesting but we didn’t get enough about them!! It made me sad to see in the first season that they didn’t get alot of scenes, so to see this improvement makes me really happy.
From leaks we can see that Rhaena has got some moments going in the vale, and can I just mention that her riding gear looks so pretty? And it’s a reddish-pink! Reminds me of morning 🙈
I wonder if this season we will see the her trying to hatch the dragon eggs she brought with her. I know it wouldn’t really match up with the book-timeline (not that the show is following it at all) but I wonder if maybe we will see Morning hatch this season? I would love that. PINK DRAGON FOR THE WIN!!!
Also, I’m glad where getting to explore the vale more. I’m so upset the GOT tv show cut out the Alayne Stone arc in its entirety, the vale is so cool IMO. Love it in the books.
I am so hyped to see Baela and moondancer, I absolutely loved moondancer in the book. Tiny dragon fighting Sunfyre?? Love it. I haven’t really seen that many leaks around Baela, but I’m still so pumped for whatever moments we get.
I wonder if this particular shot is her reactions at Rooks Nest! I like the idea of her being apart of that battle (or maybe arriving very late) seeing Rhaenys die Will probably be the worst thing for her (seeing how she stayed with Rhaenys on driftmark).
June cannot come soon enough!!! I am so hyped for season two; the outfits and hair look so much better than the first season- and we won’t be plagued by constant time jumps. anyways… DRAGON TWINS FOR THE WIN!

i don't really understand what's the point of making viserys and daemon neglectful fathers in the show... yeah like daemon is around his girls a lot (especially baela in her childhood) and ig we could say he cares for his children with nyra, touching her tummy, searching for eggs, even clearly supporting luke and jace and their claim
but then we have rhaena's "father ignores me". we have scene when he hugs them after laena's death but it get cut so does it really count? we have him ignoring the fact his daughters were hurt during fight with aemond. he talks about dragonriders and unclaimed dragons and rhaena becomes uncomfortable (and it might means nothing for her relation with daemon but still). he ignores nyra in her labour (which is weirder when you think about jace's question. where is daemon? as if he expected him there. as if daemon was by nyra's side when she was giving birth to viserys and aegon, just like he was with laena. yes, he now plans the war to protect them but also he's wife may be dying). caring daemon - cut! comforting rhaenyra? cut! mourning visenya? cut! finding out about luke? cut!
it seems like his character as a father (i already complained about daemon as a husband lmao) was written very inconsistent, writers wanted to show he's a family guy after all but really damaged his relationship with his children, especially his own ones, as if caring for family claims were more important than themselves for him
less with viserys but still. he was never a good father, not even in the books but his character was damaged his too (especially with rhaenyra). we see him celebrating aegon's birthday, touching alicent's belly, watching his kids and grandkids training etc and after that we have "rhaenyra, my only child"?? dear gods (poppy milk blah blah whatever). not even commenting on his behaviour towards aemond and aegon on driftmark (yeah, one just commitet a treason and the other was drunk but dude wtf). helaena didn't give a fck about him while in the book she visited him regularly with her children. the fact he doesn't even know his daughter is a dreamer (that one also... ehh)? that he doesn't talk with aemond even though they both love history??
what truly bothers me that daemon is supposed to be a grey character but in the show if he wasn't in team black which is more "morally right" and also politically correct about claim to the throne we'd say he's fully antagonist cause of the crimes he commited and his good moments (as brother, father, husband) are really reduced
viserys and daemon are not good people, period. they have many flaws we could see clearly in books and show. i just can't understand why creators decided to destroy their characters as fathers (especially daemon) as if they needed to show this way that they're both bad men*. it's very one dimensional - you're bad man, then you're also bad husband, bad father, bad brother, bad friend. which is even more stupid when you see these big gestures that should prove otherwise (viserys coming to the throne room, daemon ensuring jace's claim or killing vaemond in nyra's protection etc)
*this confuses me much, viserys is shown as a "good guy" most of the time even after what he did to the realm, aemma or alicent, as peaceful king, family guy, who loves them all so dearly, but looks like him neglacting other children could in any way help rhaenyra being seen more as a rightful heir to watchers? idk unnecessary and speaks volumes, apparently as watchers we're stupid bc we don't see viserys is terrible (oh bc how could he be? he married 15yo instead of 12yo - i'm gonna write sth about these age changes too cause seven hells - such a good guy) after rping two girls and basically killing his wife at very least so they need to show us deadbeat father
