whether dragon teeth is effective or not, it's really relative to military forces on either side of the dragon teeth.
without hyping war efforts, the reality of defensive lines that russians had installed on the mostly flat geography of southern ukraine (land bridge for russians), is going to backfire or become the modern day russian maginot lines.
think of the defenses as russians caging themselves. russians won't be able to maneuver freely and cannot launch assaults through their own defenses.
once ukraine is able to clear enough mines like cutting various paths thrugh the minefields, the defensive lines become favorable for ukrainian forces. and the russian trenches turn into wack-a-mole hunt.
here, a physical obstacle is only as good as who is hunting who. and the trenches become walls against russians. trenches might work for those who set a trap for ambush but the trenches become a mouse trap when russians don't have enough units or supplies.
for sure, it'd be unimaginably suicidal for russians to surround themselves with obstacles so much that russians cannot retreat. and so presumably, russians have a map or left intuitive signs for themselves to navigate through their own defensive obstacles.
all these will become apparent when winter comes. russians in the trenches will have to avoid getting soaking wet and turned into popsicles. russians will consume lots of vodka like last winter. russians will be sleep deprived.
This is Sunspot, from the Dragons of the Spheres series. It was done in 2003 or 2004, I think. I cut off the original signature and the metadata has changed as I've upgraded my computers over the years.
I made this with Prismacolor pencils over India ink and an acrylic wash. I don't often do fiery warm colors, so this was a delightful challenge to my usual cool-hued aesthetic.
I was originally gonna use this this as a base with the movable jaw to help me with line work, but I ended up just practicing scissor teeth on a vaguely dog shaped skull? Idk it might be a dragon thingy.
Yall I’m so stupid… I got so many new books this year I forgot @gabrielle-de-lioncourt-anon so kindly got me the last Jurassic Park book way back on my birthday. It’s the only one on my shelf besides my newest Watchmen comic I haven’t read yet. I think I might read it on my break at work today if it gets really stressful 🥰
"Few creature strike as much fear in the heart as the name of the Basilisk, a creature so deadly, its fangs can still deliver a fatal dose of venom years after its death. “
I think somebody may have had too much Dark Energon....
