also
anymore extra hcs for any character,,,
mayhaps
- Fabby despises most animals but has a soft spot for sphinx cats, reptiles, and dangerous insects
- Cyan was majorly messed up after DE, more mentally than physically
- not so much as headcanons but here are some songs that I think fit:
Redesign Your Logo (Lemon Demon) for Zor/Zoraxis
RISK, RISK, RISK! (Jhariah) for Phoenix in general (not just Cyan)
The Lamp is Low (Laurindo Almeida) for Yellow
BAD LUCK! (Jhariah) and Your Stupid Face (Kaden MacKay) for Broken Juniper
- Cyan has an absurdly high tolerance to alcohol, despite not drinking often (except for when on missions)
- Yellow does not. at all. Do with this what you will
- Solaris is an extrovert but gets burnt out easily
- Daniel Sans and Hivemind have an ongoing rivalry (no one can tell if its friendly or not)
- Caliente hates bugs of any kind and will burn any he sees with hairspray and a lighter
- Prism knows all of her robots names, their differences and quirks, and absolutely adores every single one
- Feels like it goes without saying, but Juniper’s a huge theater nerd where he gets really excited about the plot details and little nuances of the plays. He can and will infodump to anyone who even mentions his favorite production

IEYTD Actor au!
So imagine that the games are actually seasons of a sitcom. So each game it's own season. All of the characters are just that, characters and everyone is an actor. That being said, John Juniper is just John Juniper. He (like Wil Wheaton who plays him) will occasionally do cameos as himself in tv shows. So they ran with it and were like "hey do you wanna play yourself but as a way more egotistical version who ends up being a lackey for Dr. Zor? You get to die an epic death at the end?"
And of course he LOVES the idea. I expect you to die is one of his favourite shows after all! So he says yes and they film his season. He gets really attached to everyone and he is very sad that "he" dies. But then they air the season and people are outraged that John died! Or at least... Some people are.
It becomes one of those things like "who shot Mr. Burns?" In the Simpsons and the "sherlock didn't die when he fell" of Sherlock. Like people genuinely believe that it's all a ruse and it sparks outrage through the fandom. There are theories and debates about it. Even into season 3 people are looking for clues that John is coming back.
Then they approach John like "hey I know you are literally the best actor in the world now and this is just a silly little spy sitcom but will you please come back to make the fans happy?"
And he is overcome with joy! He ends up becoming the biggest thing that's ever happened in television history and all of the others (Phoenix, Roxana, Reginald, ect) all LOVE that their silly little show has become the most highly anticipated show ever.
So like is this a valid au? Can we make this happen?

Just think about how chaotic Zoraxis meetings would be.
Hivemind is there and just telling everyone about his bees, which was not in any way what they needed to discuss. The Fabricator is criticising everyone’s outfit other than her own. Solaris does not want to be there and is trying to complain to Zor about the Death Engine being blown up. Juniper is just chatting to people and, trying and failing, to subtly tell them about all his greatest performances. Ollie is not sure what’s going on, but happy to be there anyway. Roxana is slightly terrified but also silently judging all of them and finally Zor is just done with all of them.
Then Agent Phoenix just falls onto the table from a vent in the ceiling half way through.
It’s like a big family dinner!

Okay. This is just something that I just wonder about. Not sure if anyone else brought it up yet.
In IETYD 3, our handler says that evacuation protocols are happening all around the world.
Dr. Zor probably figured out that Phoenix and Dr. Prism will succeed in stopping the operation.
The fact that the doctor can hear our handler is partly concerning, especially since the fact that evacuation protocols are said by our handler to be occurring during the events of the mission.
It's not easy to hide the fact of moving hundreds, if not thousands of personnel from anyone careful enough to look. The agency was able to track the kinesium and Dr. Prism, after all. It wouldn't be a stretch if Zoraxis is capable of this as well.
What if the explosion was allowed to happen as it would still lead to Dr. Zor getting something out of it? Maybe they may not get the death of the agents, but they will still get something else: the evacuation locations of the agency.
Maybe even a couple of agency operatives. No one will notice a Zoraxis operative or two slipping in amongst the chaos to look into the agency building. They have tracked the old (I assume that the agency evacuated the agency building shot by the death engine) building. They could have tracked another building and waited for the right time to strike.
And even if Phoenix and the agency lived, Dr. Zor still won in some different way.

hey okay so i might be dumb or smart
i was writing a fic and it was my first time writing Robutler, and i almost forgot that all the robots float. I thought,"Oh, the robots must be able to float with Kinesium.
then it hit me.
If Zoraxis's plans to defeat the agency was to blow up kinesium to destroy all of the implants-or just the agents themselves-,
then wouldn't that destroy the robots as well?
Hell, even in Cold Shoulder, the robots didn't get destroyed until the kinesium explosion!
I want to say Prism had to be aware of this, but she seems to care about the robots too much to sacrifice them. and in Cold Shoulder, she seems to turn on Zor due to her robot's destruction.
Maybe Dr.Zor planned on Getting rid of Prism like they did Juniper, except for much earlier in the plan. What do you guys think?

i see a lot of interpretations of zor being this otherworldly, anomalous presence- larger than life, practically non-human. and i, too, like perceiving zor through this veil of anonymity. i think making them too tangible or perceivable really detracts from what's been established about their character.
but, i personally really, really like the thought of zor being human. mortal. but terrifying to the point where you'd be forgiven for forgetting it.
i think one of the things that i adored about ieytd before the third game dropped (and honestly made me a little disappointed when it was changed later on) was the fact that the agency never had a face. it just... was what it was. it had facets- granted, the EOD was always the only one of any relevance. but, really, think about what we know about the agency between all three games. compare that to how much we know about zoraxis.
there's something really appealing to me about zor being who they are... they're probably the most wealthiest person on earth. they had a monopoly that quite literally gripped the world in their first- as their emblem would suggest. they hire some of the most lethal minds in the world- chemists, inventors, engineers.
and yet... despite it all, they're just one person. to me, their anonymity is a shield against the fact they are a person. they hide behind the lethality and prowess of their elite operatives- not to mention we've seen how clever they can be when it came to manipulating prism. they're by no means useless.
but what would they be without their anonymity? what would they be without the weapons they didn't design, the lairs they didn't build, the employees they use as human shields? the second zor is gone, zoraxis crumbles. they are the support pillar of their entire corporation.
... but what's the agency's equivalent? even post morales being a character, can we be certain that he's the glue holding the entire organization together?
think about zoraxis' most lethal schemes. seizing control of the world's atomic weaponry. striking targets anywhere on earth's surface with a giant laser. exploding the brain of every telekinetic agent on the planet. are they really seeking to cause as much damage as possible- to the agency specifically, collateral, or otherwise?
or do they not know where to strike. zor's tactic- for as high the stakes have been escalating- has always carried a similar motif. cleave and strike indiscriminately until the threat is neutralized.
but it never works. zor is lashing at a hydra- sprouting new heads where the old ones have been lopped off. they don't seem aware of how to destroy the agency other than exterminating each and every one of them off the face of the earth, in whatever way is most convenient at the moment.
i just think there's something to be said about zoraxis- and by extension, zor- always being seen as this oppressive, near-otherworldly force, constantly applying pressure on phoenix... when for all we know, zoraxis could be perceiving the agency in the exact same light.
zor, ultimately, has one beating heart. the agency has thousands. and all of them are dispensable.

So y’know how Phoenix is commonly referred to as they/them (as peoples’ interpretations, not the in-game player character) and so is Zor?
I like to think that Phoenix has absolutely zero gender, people cannot figure out what they are just that they do their job well, while Zor has all of the gender and people have next to no clue what their exact role is as head of Zoraxis. People still can’t figure out what they are but for opposite reasons. Phoenix doesn’t talk at all, Zor has a voice modulatior that makes them have a double voice of male and female. People know who Phoenix is and still can’t figure them out, we know next to nothing about Zor and also can’t figure them out.
Zor stole all of Phoenix’s gender, that’s the real evil. Not that they had much to begin with, but it’s the principle of the matter.

Well. You guys asked for it. More zoraxis and the agency messing around!!
Once, They went on a spree of leaking random stuff like Phoenix’s messy, slightly singed desk, hivemind’s bee room, the view from the top of Zoraxis HQ etc. it was funny until someone accidentally leaked personal info and they got killed.
90% of the groupchat is memes of higher ups. They have an entire department in the group for templates, aka who can take the most secret photos of said higher ups. So far an anonymous agent has the record with several hundred of hivemind, the fabricator, charlie and one infamous photo of a blurry form suspected to be Zor.
The agency members bring the best food, especially once someone gets back from missions. Phoenix joins sometimes and they always bring the weirdest foods. Once, Phoenix left an ice pop in the air and it melted on a poor unsuspecting agent. the stick and wrapper is rumoured to still be in the air.
They frequently share dumb stories around a fire. Phoenix shared a story about a mission, mainly just about the stupid ways they nearly died. The zoraxis agents all had stupid stories about Hivemind and The Fabricator. Occasionally they record the stupid stories and post them to the youtube channel.
Solaris occasionally comes to the meetings, and juniper went to a few anonymously a few times. Everyone was in awe of his juniper “impression”.
All of their fans don’t actually believe they’re really zoraxis until one day an anonymous poster who didn’t have access to the account posts a video taken by someone in the vents. the video is peak comedy because it’s just raw footage of zoraxis employees messing around without knowing they’re being recorded.
The agency team likes to post tribute posts to the dead robots. Prism likes every single one. They’ve also posted tributes to Juniper. They also like to share the training videos from every department and it’s hilarious until someone gets injured trying to replicate one and they nearly get sued.
the accounts are only accessible to the group, no one knows who’s who until the next weekly meeting.
thank you for coming to my TED talk :]]

TW: incredibly unhealthy/abusive relationship dynamic, possessiveness
Phoenix x Zor. But like. Very specifically in an unhealthy/toxic way. Zor is very possessive of Phoenix, in fact, they look at the agent more like a show dog than a partner. Phoenix is their trophy, their prized possession that sits at Zor's right hand not because Zor wants them to be respected, but because they like watching their once nemesis squirm. But at the same time, they hate the thought of their bird escaping its gilded cage, feeling anger, sadness, and a fiery determination every time the birdie flies away only to revel in the feeling of them being dragged back
Phoenix loathes every second of it and is constantly trying to escape, but every time they get out they feel drawn to go back to the field and face the doctor once more. And every time they manage to stroke their own ego enough, they slip up and end up right back at where they were in the doctor's arms. There is no love, no comfort, but a thrilling rush of passion and hatred they can't get enough of.
