i got about ¼th of my thoth tarot deck decorated tonight :^)

for three major arcana i washi taped over them entirely and used stickers instead because i didn't like the pictures.

and for most of the minor cards im just inventing my own meanings from scratch. i took the numerology 1-9 number meanings, the "9 lokean virtues" as made up by some blogger, suits meanings i made up and the original meanings and those smushed together serve as my prompts 👍 the reversed meanings are mostly the fitting other side of a thing or a "how could someone do this wrong"

im leaving the court cards for later because i still need to make up a system for them. as well as any cards i cant get ideas for. art block rules state to leave the hard stuff for later ;)

i need to shoutout wreck this deck for giving me the ideas and mental freedom to do this to my beloved thoth tarot cards. they are much improved now but without that game i'd never have known how good this feels! (also if you're looking to learn tarot reading, despite being a fiction-based game it's quite the good teacher imo!)

it is in fact now easier for me to work on those tarot cards for my mom now that i have a designated space for it! i spent like an hour getting the pre-rendering drawing done for the emperor, though now i gotta take a break bc. im kinda tired after blasting through that so quickly

WEIRD SAD BREAKING NEWS ABOUT THE AT TAROT DECK

Thanks in part to the 50+ art thieves across the internet who are selling 1000s of cheap knock offs of my Adventure Time tarot deck, a copyright complaint was filed with Etsy and the deck has been removed from my Etsy store :( I ensured it’s clear that the deck is a 100% unofficial fan-made product, using only my drawings, but clearly that wasn’t enough. It’s a real blow, particularly since I’m disabled and selling such a popular product was a great way to be financially independent. Starting in 2017, the 78 artworks of the deck took years to come together. The creation process was truly a love letter to Adventure Time; one of my all time favourite things, that also helped me through a rough time in my life. I’m planning on making my own site to sell the deck, but in the meantime, the decks are still available from the Indiegogo campaign I used to crowdfund the 1st print run! The product and the shipping are both cheaper than Etsy, plus I’ll add a bunch of freebies to every order <3 Please note that Indiegogo has a 10 day refund window after you place your order, so I have to wait 10 days before I can send your package out to you. LISTEN TO ME okay ill have to add a sci-fi element to my established esmp world i am OKAY with this, grimlands are already victorian steampunk its not that big a stretch to add space travel, especially in the place of dimension travel.

okay so in my esmp lore the emperors are blessed by the gods with conditional immortality and flight, they know a new ruler has been born by if they're born with wings. i bet though i could twist that into the king cole/olympians idea of trading their citizen's lives for immortality. although it is kinda reversed? (mechs immortals tend to stop aging but can be killed, emperors still age and can die of old age, but cant be killed). hmm i mean theres definite differences between king cole and the olympians so maybe its just another variation, or something closer to the mechs themselves? though that ones less likely

honestly there literally is an esmp1 musical so i reckon its interesting enough to attract the mechs

but lets be honest with ourselves here, the only reason im doing this is so i have an excuse to draw grimlands!marius lmao

i think raph would be interested in it too though, with how they're so much more reliant on technical advancement than magical.

Hi hello spoilers for the ENTIRETY of riptide (specifically episodes 78, 93, 110, tho the entire campaign ep1-ep115 is talked about here) and also. A read more since this is a very. Very. Long post. And i dont intend to colour of the sky you <3

Yknow im just thinkin like ik the common theory is that chips the nameless prince and im still pretty in agreement but im also. Thinking.

Bc i relistened to episode 78 where goobleck finds the book on the nameless prince. (32:35ish) And id basically entirely forgotten abt it until i relistened to 93, heard charlies sparknotes version n wanted to listen 2 it for myself. And like.

Im pretty sure, unless im interpreting grizzlys words wrong, that the nameless prince is whatever entity was mentioned in the 110 prophecy ?

Tho its hard because. He gave a summary of what the book was about since goobleck didnt properly read it i think he just kinda. Skimmed. And he started by saying that the book is about a prince, a self proclaimed prince at that, but mostly just an entity born in the abyss. So im not sure if that entity is the same person as the prince or if theyre two different people ???? But for the sake of Thinking ill say theyre the same bc i dont see why they wouldnt be.

But he goes on to say that this book talks about this abyss entity, and how it became obsessed w spreading corruption in a world of mostly peace. And how it wants to learn about the inhabitants of this world (?) And then the book ends in chaos and tragedy, where the entire world falls to corruption. The entity destroys all living things ("this race of living creatures") and then consumes even more worlds by spreading its abyss corruption. And how its also almost. Parasitic.

So. This sounds a lot like the 110 entity.

"An entity threatens world stability / caged in the deepest layers of infinity [...] forboded calamity, the chosen is warned / the shape of all life shall take a new form / its choice to be made with no time to mourn"

Definitely sounds like this entity is the same, it threatens world stability by spreading its corruption, and this infinity could be the abyss. The shape of all life line draws my attention tho bc of how grizzly described the entity as destroying "this race of living creatures" and like a parasite.

Althoughhhhh i will have to relisten to. The just rolled for episode 93 because i think it was then that the 3 players made their guesses as to who the guarding giant, nameless prince and unborn kings are and grizzly said One was correct. I know they guessed arlin as the guarding giant and i think niklaus chip or rose's kid were other guesses perhaps ? Tho im not sure as to Where they fit each.

[HI HELLO i have now relistened to the rolled for 93. Condi guessed Arlin as the guarding giant, Chip as the nameless prince and Rose's Kid as the unborn kings. Only 1 of these is correct]

Ill also have to relisten to the stone age what if. Because even though that what if probably doesnt contain much thatd be important since. Its a what if. And it was back in the desire arc. The ending of it reminds me a bit of the nameless prince section where the entity destroys more worlds by spreading its corruption. Andddddd yea if that what if means anything at all then that could suggest niklaus as the entity or the nameless prince ?

Something else that gets me though is the legend lore scroll itself. We all know about the guarding giant nameless prince and unborn kings but. What i keep thinkin on is the beginning and end:

"A map that is a guide and a key / passed around the hands of destiny / it leads to chaos infinity / beneath the seas / the guardian giant / the nameless prince / the unborn kings / all wait to be inevitably free"

The very end with the "inevitably free" sounds like. One line of the 110 prophecy ("its release in time an inevitability" IT being the entity) and niklaus' greatest desire: freedom.

There is a consistent theme of freedom throughout riptide - or instead, a need/want for it. Gillion and jay both work towards freedom from the elders and navy respectively, islands (and casinos) early campaign all wanted freedom from various curses, pirates strive to create freedom from the navys rule, navys claim to strive to create a world free of "chaos".

However, across the nameless prince skim read, the legend lore scroll, and the 110 prophecy, there are manyyyy many parallels between them. Parallels, which i spent about 2 hours brainrotting about yesterday

It has been a couple days since i have made this biggg graphic and ive had a lotta time to dwell on this all and think. Because there are definitely many reasons why chip could be the nameless prince - and like a lotta other people i Know he has a bigger role in the world of mana than it seemed at first. However, i do feel like that role isnt the role of the nameless prince.

I mean, i probably have forgotten some evidence since i havent rewatched the ENTIRE campaign in a littleeee bit, just random episodes i think would have points of interest. But so far, we dont exactly know a whole lot about the nameless prince, only that whoever it is, is waiting to be free, could be whatever entity these poems and texts talk of, and has links to the hole in the sea. There were also a lot of details in the hole during episode two of the oneshot, which could be linked back to the prince. Lemme justtttt. Get the notes i took during my rewatch of it.

So, on the staircase where the three had their flashbacks, there were a few engravings in the wall. Some were words in abyssal primordial which read "what do you desire", others were depictions of humanoids with gems and coins, some were depictions of slavery + power. However, one stood out to finn since whilst the others repeated, this one was unique and singular. And it was the mountain with a crown above it.

This ofc could be passed off as mostly unimportant since it appeared so very early in the campaign, but we all know grizzlys dming and worldbuilding style isnt like that - everything thats been mentioned so far has been important in some way or another, and events from incredibly early episodes still affect the present day.

Although, unfortunately, i am Not Smart. And dont really know what this could Mean.

Weve seen a few mountains throughout the campaign, and none that instantly feel connected to that. Theres the mountain they all climbed in 111 of course, but that just housed those ice pirates, not anything much to do with a prince. It did also make me think of edison kingdom, since that has a monarchy and is a stacked city, howeverrrrr i doubt it would be that since. I dont see the relevance.

The crown is of course the only part here we can really connect to anything, that being the nameless prince. Since, they are a PRINCE afterall (although i do think these names are more metaphorical than literal). There ARE other places throughout the campaign crowns appear (once again, edison, and queen) though i doubt the edison kingdom would be so important to what feels like personal riptide pirate story, and queen didnt exist much as a character until they were introduced in episode like. 80smth. And their name is only queen bc charlie started the bohemian rhapsody bit.

SOOO yea basically. Summed up. Shits addin up. And also not addin up. I have lots of thoughts on this stuff, howeverrrr like ive said before im. Not very good at analysing. And also not the most articulate either. All in all, i think chip could possibly not be the nameless prince, and whoever the nameless prince IS could be whatever entity has been mentioned around a lot. The end. Goodbye. Thanks 4 readin. let me say smth i havent said in a while ...instead of just being like "Um the one where datz was on screen^_^" but my old favorite moment used to be in farewell my turnabout when you get the call about maya ,... Omg that gave me chills i was so scared for her for real. it was crazy. other Favorite Moments are the mia-dahlia baddie exorcism and will powers introduction scene (i just love going to ppls playthroughs and seeing them react to him)

but we live in a post-aj trilogy world so my real favorite moment is Dhurke! You're a sight for sore eyes! I knew you'd come save me!

silly as it is, as bad as my whiskers are, it surpised me how much of a girl i saw when i was reaching over

maybe its just the tits and the shawl, but i felt my face, even though i honestly hate the angle

but for mere glimpses i see her, just naturally, not like when i pose, i see her living and candid

i see her more and more

its incredible

sometimes i can stare straight at her, and she cant escape, she moves and changes angles but she never goes away

that is like staring into the sun

i would know, ive loved doing that since childhood

but this is like staring into the sun but i dont feel any pain and i dont see worse after, i see so much better, like not literally, its like my outlook is better, everything is better

and i can only sometimes do that, but at this point in my life, thats okay, its not, but i can bear it

i could bare anything for that girl in the mirror who stays there, she looks like her, and i can bear this brutal hardship and this desolate heartbreak

i know, i know, i really not only know, but i believe in what i learned so long ago on tumblr and reddit and in books at the faggy cafe

i know that she's going to be real enough to stay real, she'll be a regular sight

i could paint my first real glimpse of her from memory if i live to be 100 and get beated in the head every day, tragically reducing the odds of success (gotta avoid too much head trauma)

but i will one day see her every day, i almost do now, but only bc im unemployed and i know what she likes and can easily draw her out by indulging her favorite things (which i like, too)

but one day i will live in synch with her, possibly until death, a committment im overjoyed to make and keep and work towards, and one day she will be there, in banal glimpses, and serving

i cant kill myself, i decided these past few weeks

i dont think it would align with my personal code of ethics and morals i learned from Innate Human Intuitive Knowledge (as a child my mind wandered so crazy hard you would not believe how far and how byzantine) and also from observing nature and finding peace within myself

i dont think itd be just, or fair, for her to have had less time than him, so i cant morally kill myself until im at least 52 or 54, having given the girl as much time to live as the boything, were gonna hash it out to that, and not litigate this any further, okay?

i got no patience to be nonbinary for like a decade for no reason, although now that im picturing it, like, honestly, cunt, so potentially 78, but i am not interested in seeing what irritating problems plague my brutalized body in that stage of decline

i am not built to survive, but also my family has a weird habit of living to like 100+ so this might all be cope, or some kind of bargain-bin suicidality

well, hope i remember this in therapy, which i never can. happy to have told a few of you, this is ironclad logic though, 52 is honestly the perfect age to kill myself

As a fan of both GW2 and tarot I'd love to see your list of new, Tyria-themed Major Arcana cards to match to the meanings of the common ones. And do you have suits in mind?

Im essentially doing a 78 card full art set thing. the suits will have some common elements, but will be just as unique as the major arcana.

Im also trying to keep the balance between some serious themes and more lighthearted ones. For example the King of Pentacles is a skritt in a gold pile absolutely losing it, while the Page of Cups would be an aviator quaggan mail carrier.

the actual list i'll keep for myself for now. i dont know how much of it i am really drawing and what part will remain a rough idea. my brain's not made for bog projects. Seeing my follower's support always helps a lot tho, so thanks for the interest, already made me wanna do this more <3

Tumblrpon Family Picture

Time to put together the Tumblrpon Family Picture!

Here's how this will work:

Anyone and everyone is allowed to respond to this with a full-body of their blog character(s), yall can also dm me any picture

I'll put all of the pictures together in one big photo like so! (Forgive the old art)

There will be a background, so don't worry about that

Rules:

1. Your art must have a transparent background (or white if you can't do transparent) ((if you can only draw traditionally, I will try my best to crop the character for you))

2. Must be a full body

3. If you do multiple characters, it's recommended but not necessarily required to do them separate from each other (if you have them interacting, that's a different story, that's fine)

Tips:

There's a camera pointed at the characters, so keep that in mind when drawing your character, if you'd rather they don't look at the camera, that's fine :)

If your character can fly, then feel free to have them flying!

If you want to draw your character interacting with someone else's, be sure to give them a message and work together!

The reason I'm putting this together myself rather than having a reblog chain is so I can make sure everyone gets included and the chain doesn't split off

That being said, have fun! I'll end this around December 15th-20th

I love so many of them and if theyre wildly off what the actual designs or stories for characters like marvin and jackie keep drawing them theyre cool and i love them
