the owl house has become another special interest of mine, i am constantly thinking about it
....... so i'm combing it with my other special interest, the jacksepticeye egos
because fuck you i can, here's the egos if they went to hexside (art coming eventually, all of these are my personal headcanons)
note: i have a headcannon that, after a while, the boiling isles get opened up to the human realm (or at the very least luz's home town). and it's certainly not easy, and it certainly takes a while, but with luz acting as the human ambassador peace is generally achieved. obviously there's people that disagree on both sides, but that's what happens when big changes are introduced.
anyways, all that to say that the boiling isles and luz's home town sorta trade... concepts? i guess? i don't know how to explain it, you'll see what i mean-
jackie powlin (no i'm not good at coming up with last names, shut up-)
species: witch characteristics: pointy ears, mostly human in appearance pronouns: he/him tracks: beast keeping and abomination (uses abominations as enhancements to his body, like darius) extracurriculars?: head of the grudgby team palisman: german shepherd
chase brody
species: human characteristics: he's human, so- pronouns: he/him, they/them tracks: bard, plant, beast keeping extracurriculars?: grudgby, human appreciation society (he thought it would be funny to join) palisman: red and black dragon
marvin magni (pronounced magneye, g like in grain)
species: witch characteristics: cat ears, tail, eyes, claws, and sharper canines pronouns: they/them, he/him, star/starself tracks: potions, illusions, healing, oracle extracurriculars?: writing club, theatre (if there wasn't one before, it gets introduced when the boiling realms gets opened up) palisman: light pink snake
henrik von schneeplestein
species: witch characteristics: four eyes, spikes along his jawbones, two small horns on his forehead pronouns: he/him, it/its track: healing extracurriculars?: none palisman: white dove
ezra "anti" ??? (yeah, it refuses to give its last name totally not a cop out-)
species: ??? characteristics: pointy ears, seems... relatively normal? students have reported getting an off feeling around it pronouns: it/its tracks: illusion, abomination, beast keeping extracurriculars?: none palisman: turtle
jameson jackson
species: human characteristics: human pronouns: he/him tracks: bard, healing, plant extracurriculars?: band club (added after the human world/boiling isles mix, just joins up after school and plays music together) palisman: black fox

Swap Across the CrystalVerse Chapter 6: Merms

The boat is crossing a stretch of open ocean. The sea floor beneath them is mostly sand with clusters of rocks and kelp.
As the merms continue swimming, Chase dives down to grab some of the kelp, yanking it free and chewing on it.
"Hey, can I have some?" Jack asks. Chase nods and hands it over.
Jackie is getting better as he moves, hiccupping here and there but at least getting into a stride. He blinks down at Jack and Chase and tilts his head. "...does that taste good?"
"It does to us," Chase says. "I don't know if it will to you, since you're human even if you're technically a merm right now. My kids say that it tastes like salad? And they're halflings which I think is similar to what you are right now. So... take what you want from that."
"You can't eat fish, though," Jack says.
"Right, yeah, even halflings need to have the fish cooked, they can't just eat them like we do," Chase agrees.
"Oh really? Huh... that's interesting." Jackie says with a hum.
"Are you all enjoying yourselves?" Schneep asks, tentacles clinging to the bottom of the boat. The bag he's wearing--human-made by the look of it--hangs upside down from his shoulder.
Alt can't help but laugh. "Are you, Schneep? cuz you look like a grumpy gills-"
"Boooo!" Bro calls to Alt. Alt flicks him with his tail.
"Me? Oh, I am fine," Schneep says.
Jackie swims back around to say, "That's just his face," before heading back to the front of the pack.
"Hey!" Schneep snaps.
Alt giggles.
"Oh just like Alt!" Bro grins.
"Hey! I've been getting better!" Alt snaps.
Bro looks back to Schneep and then tries to swim upside down so he can look him in the face. "Does that make you dizzy or anything? You're also gripping on so well- but I guess that makes sense- cuz... octopus."
Schneep chuckles. "The non-octos are always so surprised." One of the tentacles peels away, showing the suckers on the other side. "It does take effort to grip, but I can hold on for a while before I need to stop."
Jackie circles back around again. "Careful, Chase. If you swim with your dorsal upside down for too long it messes up your balance."
"Oh? Really?" Bro rights himself and shakes a bit of vertigo off, dipping in the water before gaining his height. He laughs, "Thanks for the warning man."
Mer-Jackie looks at Schneep. "Talking about how great it is to be an octo again? How's it feel to be slow?"
"Oh shut up." Schneep rolls his eyes.
"Some octos can change color, y'know," Jackie says to Bro. "Like Schneep's neighbor." He looks at Schneep and grins. "Vea."
"Yes, she can do that." Schneep's face is straight, but strangely, his tentacles shift color to a lighter blue.
Bro looks very interested in this and then blinks at Schneep's tentacles and points. "Oh!! They kinda changed colors! woahhh"
"Y-yes, that happens sometimes," Schneep says.
"But it's not like what Vea can do," Jackie says, grinning. "She can camoflague into anything. Isn't that cool?"
"V-very cool." The shade of blue is deepening now... like a blush.
"Oh that is cool!" Bro says excitedly. He eyes the color with a slight knowing look. "That'd be such a useful skill!"
"Like Peeta in the hunger games!" Jackieboy says, catching up to them. Bro laughs.
Schneep blinks. "I don't know what that means. Chase? What human stuff is this 'hungry games'?"
Chase frowns. "I don't know everything about humans. It's been years since I was one, things change so fast up there. Don't get me started on the way phones went from colorful flippy things to slabs."
"Woahhh you were human once??" Jackie asks, looking at Chase with fascination. "Wait no okay that makes sense- cuz you said you had halflings- dude though that so crazy! It's like- real life little mermaid!"
Bro bonks Jackie on the head, "Stop dropping pop
culture references we gotta explain!"
"Oh we know about The Little Mermaid," Jack says. "Stacy showed us."
Chase gives a little laugh. "It was more like the fairy tale than the animated movie with the redhaired girl. I-I saw a cute human on the beach one day, a-and I kept coming back to see her. Until I decided I had to get to know her so I got Marvin to cast a spell on me to make me human for a year and a day. I-it was tough. Walking was hard, and I didn't know any human knowledge. But w-we got really close, and started going out, a-and um..." That blush is back. "But, uh, w-we were just seventeen so when the spell wore off she said I probably shouldn't turn human permanently until she finished school. And then stuff happened, and... now I have two kids."
Mer-Jackie circles back again. "So romantic!" And back to the front.
Jackie awwws, "That is the sweetest story I've ever heard!!"
"I thought you always said nothing would beat how you met Zara-" Bro teases, bumping into him.
"Well- getting my ass kicked isnt really romantic on my part-" Jackie snickers. "She did look like an angel that day though~!"
"She beat you up?" Chase asks. "Oh, was it like--like a fight class?"
"I'd like a partner who could kick my tail!" Jackie contributes.
"Not many people can do that, though," Schneep mutters.
"Oh!" Jack looks over at Jackie. "What about that orca? Margaret?"
"Maggie likes girls, but she could kick my tail, so that's the idea."
"Yeah it was a martial arts class." Jackie laughs, "First day- she and me were the only ones with fighting experience and I wanted to seem tough because well- I had recently decided I wanted to be more of a guy. That was a mistake and she humbled me realll quick. But... looking at her look at me so smug- ah... it was love right there." He sighs, looking up at the light filtering through the ocean. "So yeah- I guess you liking to be beat up by strong women is a universal thing!"
Bro giggles. "The heart wants what the hearts wants, dude!"
"Be more of a guy?" Jackie asked. "What do you mean? Just change to a guy."
"I may not know as much about humans as Chase," Schneep says. "But even I know that they cannot change their gender so easily."
Jackieboy bursts into laughter, "Oh man! If only it was that easy!"
"I mean- technically it was for you- and Alt." Bro points out.
"Shush- we still went through most of the things other people do! We just- skipped the surgeries." Jackieboy adds, touching the light purple scars on his chest- ones that were very similar to the ones Alt has.
"All it takes for us is some will and a good night's sleep," Jackie says. "It just kinda... happens. We're very different."
"No, what gave it away?" Schneep drawls. "Was it the tails or the fins?"
"No, I get where Jackie's coming from," Chase says. "Humans think that merms are just like them, but underwater, but it's not like that at all. But you guys can probably feel the differences, right?"
Bro chuckles at the sarcasm before looking to his other self. He swishes his tail as he thinks. "..Yeah- it's weird. You don't really think about how it would be, living underwater. But- even the way you breathe is different. The weight of the water and ebb and flow of everything around you. It's... really cool. But so so different from how things on land work."
"Tell me about it," Chase mutters. "Balance is hard on legs."
"It's hard even if you're used to having legs." Jackie grins.
"Only for you, clumsy." Bro snorts, knocking into Jackie.
The two of them start playfully bumping into each other, trying to throw the other off course.
Meanwhile, Anti is swimming sort of near Alt, still trying to figure out if he should approach.
Alt feels a presence near him and he tilts his head, deciding to look back. He smiles slightly as he sees Anti. "Doin' alright?" He asks.
Anti blinks. He opens his mouth, closes it again. Blinks again. "You've... been... giving off... waves since you transformed," he says slowly. "Do you... know that? I-is it helping you... see?"
Alt blinks back and then looks down at his tail. He... kinda felt that. ...is that how he knew Anti was near? "...huh... I... I think I kinda noticed but... I didn't realize what that was." He tilts his head at Anti, "...see?"
Anti nods. He's sort of awkwardly playing with his hands, claws clicking together. "I can pulse electricity and... it helps me see. When I can't. M-my eyes aren't good. I'm supposed to be in dimmer light. But I can tell where things are. Is that what's happening?"
Alt looks thoughtful as he takes stock of himself. Experimentally, he tries to pulse some electricity out as well- though he's not quite sure what he's supposed to see. "Huh... like- echolocation almost. But, with electricity." He grins, fascinated. "I didn't know it could do that! I wonder if you could do that on land or- does it only work cuz we're underwater? dudeee that's so cool!"
"I-I don't know, I've never tried it on land," Anti says. "M--maybe? You need the inside parts to work." He gestures at his tail. "That's, um, all stuff to make electricity. So... if you turn human, pr-probably not."
Alt hums in thought, "I'll have to try that some time... I can generate electricity normally. hm..."
"Oh right. I forgot." Anti smiles a little. He pauses. "It... probably doesn't really come through with your eyes open."
Alt blinks down at Anti and then laughs, "Oh yeah- I guess that makes sense. Lemme see..." Alt closes his eyes and tries again to pulse out his electricity.
Alt is momentarily blind, but then he realizes--the faint wave he's been giving off is bouncing back to him. It's like a sixth sense, like radar on a submarine, telling him the shape of the ocean floor below him, the outline of the boat above him, and the movement of the merms and fish around him. When he actively pulses out, the range increases.
Alt is almost tempted to open his eyes, not liking the fact that he can't see when... he feels it. The wave of his senses reaching out, making sense of the darkness.
"So... you can still see, see?" Anti says.
Alt starts to give off a bit more electricity in his excitement, laughing breathlessly. "Y-Yeah! Oh wow this is- this is so cool!"
"Y-y-yeah, it--I guess it is, I never... thought about it. It's always how it's been for me. I-I don't think you can shock like I can. Or... if you can, i-it's with your magic, not your insides. Right?"
Alt opens his eyes back up to look at Anti and smiles. "uhh no I don't think so... seems like I can do that to see but still- that's so crazy. I like it-" He grins. "I can't wait to see if I can still do that on land! ...thanks for showing me, Anti."
Anti blinks. Then he grins slowly. "Y-you're welcome. Gl-glad I could help." He clacks his claws together some more. "I... think I like... helping."
Alt's expression softens and he loops to be a bit closer to Anti. It's... weird. This Anti seems... more like him than the others he's seen recently. One that's grumpy and prickly but deep down... there's something good in there. He smiles at Anti. "...it's hard at first- but helping is kinda an awesome feeling. Especially if you have good friends who help you too."
Anti stares at Alt. "Friends..." He glances at the others. "I'm... not sure if I'm one of those. I, um... hurt them. A while ago. I was... scared. But I still did... more than I needed. But... they don't hate me. I-it's hard to understand."
Alt's expression softens more and turns sympathetic. He looks up at Bro and Jackie and breathes, "...I know how that feels. I hurt my friends too. My brother, even. I was... angry. And confused. And I took things way too far. But... despite all that... they're still here." Alt laughs, shaking his head. "Somedays... I don't get it. Why they stick around... why they don't see me as... just a bad person. A monster. But... if somebody wants to see the good in you... I think you should let them." He looks back at Anti and smiles. "I think they can see that in you, Anti. That want to help. And that makes them friends. Cuz they're still here."
Anti listens to this intently. He lets out a breath, the gills on his neck visibly opening. "I... have a hard time understanding this," he says quietly. "I-I didn't think any of that was possible... for a long time. H-helping people, I mean. But... I like it. A-and I like that they're... willing to... help. I can... I can try. To be 'better.' I think I'm doing better. I-if they see that, I sh-shouldn't push that away." He nods. "Thank you. Not... I-I don't talk about this a lot. I don't think others understand."
Alt smiles more and lightly bumps his tail against Anti's. "... I get it. I didn't think it'd ever be possible for me to help people but... I'm here. Trying to be a hero like Chase is. It's... insane. But deep down, anyone can change for the better- especially if they have people willing to stick around for the journey."
Anti pauses. "Can you feel that? When you pulse. The land is sloping up. That means the coast is coming. We're getting close."
Alt pauses too and blinks trying to feel the slope. "Oh yeah- I do feel it." His eyes pulse with his magic as he starts to focus back at the task at hand.
"We're getting close," Anti announces to the others.
"Really?" Chase says. He swims up to the surface, only his tail showing for a while, and then comes back down. "Ollie says he'll try to find somewhere on the coast to dock safely but it's pretty swampy."
"Swampy? Sounds like we are getting close," Jackie says.
Schneep detaches from the boat, flipping around right ways and swimming along with the others. "We are either going to find Jameson, or, perhaps, Marvin and that stranger. They may have beat him here."
"What was his name again?" Jack asks. "Excellent, or something like that?"
The swaps laugh. "Magnificent," Alt says, grinning. He then looks at the water and squints. "...I don't know what to expect of him here... from what I knew- he hated water."
"oh my god- could he be anymore like a cat?" Jackie groans. "Like- I get it, it's his thing but C'monnn"
"Jameson's message said he transformed into a merm," Chase recalls. "So, uh, I guess he knows the same sort of spell you guys do."
"I wonder what he would become," Jackie muses. "You all didn't choose your merm forms, did you? Because if you did, he could become something pretty bad."
"I can take him," Anti says. This doesn't sound like a brag, more like he's stating a fact.
"We'll see," Schneep mutters.
“Hmm… I wonder…” Alt muses, thinking. “He probably has more freedom… I wasn’t thinking when the spells were cast- I think it’s based off the soul. That’s usually how animal transformation works. Unless you’re mag and you deal in black magic.”
The sea floor begins to slope upwards around them, but they stay in a slight dip of an area. Beneath them is a sandy floor with lots of green plants shooting up. The boat pulls to the side, not wanting to head down the river.
Bro swims forward, momentarily fascinated at seeing the boat pulling off.
Jackie looks down at the sandy floor and tilts his head. He dives down curiously.
Is there something moving down there? Beyond just the plants and fish.
Alt blinks at this and uses his new skill as he follows after Jackie. Closing his eyes he- he senses a human like shape. “Oh! I think there’s a mer down here!” He announces.
"Huh, what?" Jackie says. The others all look down.
"Jameson!" Chase gasps, and everyone dives down.
Jameson jumps in surprise at the strange merms appear--but then relaxes when the others do. He swims up to meet them. The swaps see a merm styled after a stingray, with wings stretching from his arms to his torso and a narrow tail. His belly is pale yellow-white while his back is brown and speckled. He clutches a bag in his hands.
"Are you okay?" Jack asks.
"Do not worry, these are our friends," Schneep adds. "They are here to help." He pauses, then continues in a softer voice. "We are here to help. So... how are you?"
Jameson tenses slightly, then rushes forward and wraps his arms around Schneep, squeezing him tightly. He looks visibly shaken.
The swaps all exchange worried glances. Alt approaches and adds in a quiet voice, “…I’m so sorry he took Marvin… but I swear- we’re gonna do whatever we can to get him back. I promise.”
Jameson looks at Alt curiously. He backs away from Schneep and starts making gestures. It’s lucky that Alt’s translation spell now works for non-spoken languages. The swaps see subtitles in their mind as Jameson speaks. Who are you? Do you know about that strange human?
Alt looks timid as he answers, “oh yeah s-sorry. I’m Alt- and this is Chase and Jackie. We’re actually from a different world- the same one that the strange human came from. And we know all about him… he’s hurt all of us before.” His eyes glow with anger, “We’ll make him pay for taking Marvin.“
Jameson blinks. World?
“It’s complicated, we can talk about it later,” Chase says. “The point is, they know this guy. He’s called Magnificent.”
Jameson laughs—it sounds strained, and it’s not clear if that’s from the stress or if it’s just how his voice sounds. How arrogant. Well, he did seem the type to act like that.
Bro and Jackie laugh. “Man I love how everyone points out his name is stupid and shallow. Ohh the vindication!” Jackie cackles.
“So this guy is coming down the river soon?” Jackie asks. “And he’s bringing Marvin, who’s hypnotized?”
“Oh they’re not even in the ocean yet? Okay good! We can get the jump on them!” Bro says cheerfully.
“Yeah, let’s jump them!” Jackie agrees, whooping.
Nodding, Jameson says, I brought some things that might help. He reaches into the bag and pulls out a couple things. A pair of round stones, some sharp, bone-like objects, and something pale red partially wrapped in a woven kelp blanket.
“I know you said you were bringing the siren stone, but are you sure?” Jack asks.
Maybe we can combat his hypnotism with it.
Alt looks down curiously at all the objects Jameson brought. He swims closer, “A siren stone? What’s that? Are these all magic?”
No, not all of these, Jameson says. He picks up one of the bone like objects. These aren’t. I brought them for the merms who don’t have natural weapons.
Schneep makes a face. “Those are made from stingers, aren’t they?”
They don’t have venom in them after they fall off, but they’re sharp!
“Oh, you all are going to love that,” Schneep says, glancing at the visitors.
“Ohhh neat!” Jackieboy says, reaching to grab one. He experimentally jabs it through the water then giggles. “Like a knife!”
“I’ll just stick with the stone.” Chase picks up the siren stone. For a moment, he touches it without the blanket acting as a barrier, and patterns of green light appear on its surface. So pretty… Then he realizes what’s happening and quickly adjusts his grip, the light fading as soon as he stops touching it.
“The siren stone is something that merms with siren blood can use,” Jack explains. “It lets them have the hypnotic powers sirens did. Only Chase and Anti have siren ancestors, so only they can use it.”
“N-not that I will,” Anti mutters, folding his arms. He seems a little… guilty?
Alt’s eyes widen at the explanation, glancing at the stone. He blinks at Anti then smiles softly at him, as if he understood. He nods to the others, “Mag isn’t used to others having mental magic- or using hypnosis. We should be able to catch him off guard!”
Jack grabs one of the stinger-knives as well, and hands another to Schneep with an insistent look.
Schneep sighs, gills fluttering, and takes it. “If we are to catch them off guard, we should hide ourselves. Especially the brighter colored ones of us.”
Bro nods, “Jackie that means you should hide- you’re like super bright.”
Jackieboy grumbles but nods.
“I could be a distraction,” Chase offers. “Maybe try to catch them with the stone.”
What if his hypnotism is faster than you can speak? Jameson asks.
“Well… that’s why you guys hide!”
“Sounds like as good a plan as anything to me,” Jackie says.
Alt looks nervous but nods too, “an ambush… that could work. Just- tips for dealing with Mag- his magic is very powerful and is like a tidal wave… it’s very hard to resist. But like- if you try to fight it think of like random things! I do colors to help me- it makes it harder for him to latch onto something.” He looks around trying to see if there’s any hints of them coming. “…me and Anti could get closer to the mouth and warn y’all when we feel them coming.”
The other merms nod at Alt’s advice.
“That’s a good idea,” Anti agrees. “I know where there are small alcoves in the rock. We can hide inside.”
The brighter merms should find clusters of plants to hide inside, Jameson says. The rest of us can hide behind rocks, we’ll blend in more there.
“Let me guess, you’re going to bury?” Jackie says.
Jameson grins a little. It’s what I do.
“Alright, that’s a plan, then,” Chase says. “What signal should we look for, Alt, Anti?”
Alt hums in thought, flicking his tail.
Bro perks up, “What if we use Sam? She’s small enough that she can swim around to start alerting the others? Or-at the very least- I have very good hearing. Any knock or signal you all make I can probably hear- I can stick by other me to make sure he doesn’t get hurt.”
“Oh, uh… thank you,” Chase says.
Jack blinks. “But I didn’t bring—”
And then his bag starts fluttering in an unusual way. He looks down at it. “…no. No, you didn’t.”
He opens it up and out swims Sam.
“Seriously?”
She bumps against him.
“Oh- I wondered where she went.” Bro laughs, messing with his hair and looking embarrassed.
“Awww she’s so cute though!” Jackieboy says.
“Well I don’t want to put you in danger. So back in the bag you go.” Jack says to Sam.
“Besides, Sam can’t swim that fast, right?” Jackie says.
“Here, let’s test how good your hearing is. Anti, can you go find one of those alcoves and make some sort of noise?”
Anti nods, darting away. He’s soon out of sight. After a moment, Bro picks up a faint—very faint—clicking noise that the spell translates as “Hey! Listen!”
Bro nods and listens. He perks up and then grins, “Yes! I heard it! Ha- you sounded like Navi-“
“Nerd-“ Alt coughs with a laugh.
"Alright, if that's sorted, let's all get into position, then," Jackie says.
Good luck, everyone, Jameson adds.
And the merms scatter. Jack takes Jameson's advice and hides in a patch of kelp where his green color won't stand out as much. Jackie and Schneep crouch together behind a rock, Schneep's darker tentacles helping them hide into the shadows. Anti stays where he is. Jameson finds a patch of sand and partially buries himself under it. And Chase hovers around, unsure where exactly to go.
The swaps all nod and scatter too. Alt follows Anti into one of the alcoves, closing his eyes and settling into the dark. Jackie searches around and finds a deep enough patch in the kelp to hopefully hide most of his tail.
Bro rounds up next to Chase and puts a hand on his shoulder, smiling confidently. “Don’t worry- we got this! He won’t expect all of you- especially with that stone thingy!”
Chase smiles back at Bro. “Thanks. I-it has come in handy. Now you should get somewhere out of sight. I don’t think the distraction will work if there’s two of us and one is a shark. No offense. You’re just more intimidating than a clownfish like me.”
“Oh- you know what that’s fair. I’ll be close by though! Just in case.” Bro grins and then ducks down to go hide by some of the rocks.
Some time passes. Thankfully not too much. Hidden in the small alcove, Anti sends out regular pulses… and eventually two large shapes swim into range. “I think that’s them,” he whispers to Alt.
Alt feels the pulse and studies the new shapes closer, trying to see if he recognizes the feeling. The waves coming off one of them feels almost sinister- like the water is afraid of him. That could only be one person. He opens his eyes and nods to Anti.
“It is. Get ready-“
Anti nods back and makes that same “Hey! Listen!” clicking noise to alert the others.
Marvin has been perfectly complacent for Magnificent ever since that brief encounter with Jameson. He hasn’t said a word until now, when he simply says, “That’s the ocean in there.”
Magnificent can see the widening of the river as the shore on either side turns away. And he’s been able to feel it coming for a while, too, as the tight feeling of freshwater fades away when more salt enters the picture.
Magnificent giggles and stretches out his tail, enjoying the feeling of the salt water. Much better.
"Very good~! Now- how much further to this source? Should we pick up the pace? Or can you not handle that, little fish?" He asks with a hint of sweetness, almost mimicking concern. But, his condensation is palpable in his voice.
Alt growls quietly, bunching up and feeling electricity bright in his veins. But, he needs to wait. Bro and Jackie brace themselves too, watching the water and Chase warily.
Magnificent can faintly sense magic in the distance, but it’s hard to gauge how close it is.
“We should pick up the pace,” Marvin says. “It’s still far.”
“Hm, alright- try to keep up-“ He starts to order Marvin before he slows and stops in the water- who is…?
Chase takes a deep breath. He’s been thinking about what to do, and decides the best approach us to just swim up to them. Which he does. “Hey Marvin, I was just coming to see you, who’s your—whoa!” And yet he stalls for a moment, taken aback by Magnificent’s appearance. He wasn’t expecting this stranger to look like a deep dweller! He clutches the wrapped siren stone close to his chest. “Uh—h-hi?”
Marvin blinks. “…Chase?”
Mag glares at Chase and bares his sharp teeth for a second before his expression eases into a charming and charismatic one. “Oh! Marvin, is this a friend of yours? Chase is it? Well- how fun to run into you! Marvin was just helping me find some magic nearby~” He chuckles. His eyes flash briefly with spiraling magic, trying to subtly influence Chase to back down. “Nothing to worry about.”
Chase blinks. Is he... supposed to be feeling something right now? Is Magnificent trying his magic? Well, he doesn't want to be too suspicious right away so he'll play along a bit.
"Oh. Yeah. Of course. Well... if you want to find some magic, I have something right here." He moves the kelp blanket away from the stone, not quite touching it yet but revealing its surface.
Magnificent raises an eyebrow skeptically. A chase? Knowing magic? Hard to believe… But he can’t deny the pull of whatever magic is coming from that stone so he swims a bit closer, tilting his head at it curiously. “Oh? Is that so?”
"Yeah. Watch this." Chase presses a hand against the stone, and the green light appears, dancing across its surface. "And if you keep watching, that'll be great."
Magnificent tilts his head more, gazing at the stone. For just an instant- he seems almost captivated. But, that quickly fades as he throws his head back with laughter. The pressure around them in the water starts to increase- and magic starts to bloom behind Mag is a bright spiral pattern. He shakes his head as he chuckles sinisterly,
"Oh Chase... You're playing a dangerous game~" He looks up at Chase fully now- the same magic spiraling his eyes as he slams his magic down on Chase's will. "I think you'll find that watching and obeying me will be much more favorable for you~"
Chase is smart enough to not look directly at the pretty lights, but he does gasp at the wave of magic. He blinks for a moment, then struggles through. Alright, time for Plan B! He dives down to the ground. "Guys! Now!"
Immediately Jackie bursts out from his hiding place and darts for Mag.
"What?!" Magnificent snarls, backing up and then growls for Marvin. "Marvin! Keep your friends from interfering!" He orders.
But, then, Bro comes rushing out with the same speed and roars in anger, diving to try to stop Mag too.
Marvin's attention darts to the side and he fires off a beam of pale green light--but he's not holding a power stone so it's weak and Jackie powers right through, shoving Marvin to the side. He gasps, drifting for a bit before recovering, reaching into his bag for a stone.
Alt gasps and narrows his eyes and goes to try to help Marvin and Jackie.
Bro for a second, startles Mag who whips to look at him with surprise. "Fantastic?!" He then whips out some magic to knock him back, making Bro summersault through the water. He soon rights himself and tries to charge at Mag again. Magnificent blasts Bro in the face with his magic, sending Bro back again as he curls up and holds it- the water around his face burning.
While Bro is distracting him, Magnificent feels something grab his tail. It's Schneep, gritting his teeth with determination.
Mag startles at being grabbed and growls at Schneep, flicking him off and back down towards one of the rocks.
Marvin grabs a power stone and flings out a wave of magic, strong enough that it causes a current.
Alt tries his best to fight the current and tries to grab Marvin's tail- trying to give him a small shock to hopefully wake him up.
Schneep lands on the rocky ground, silt flying into the air. Jameson rushes over to check on him but luckily he recovers quickly and gestures for Jameson to go on. Jameson nods and quickly swims over to Marvin.
Jack hands his bag--with Sam inside--to Chase and decides to rush Magnificent with the stinger blade. While Jackie is pushed back by the magic and the current,
Alt reaches Marvin and grabs him. He yelps at the shock but his eyes don't even flicker as he looks down and blasts Alt with magic.
The magic hits Alt and he yells out in surprise and pain and tumbles away, disoriented by the water.
Jack manages to stick Mag in the tail and he yells in anger, blasting magic towards him.
Jameson tries to grab Marvin from behind, his eyes glowing slightly blue, but Marvin whirls around and throws him off before he can do whatever he's trying to do.
Meanwhile, Jackie helps stop Alt from tumbling, then rushes for Marvin as well. "Snap out of it!" he shouts as he tackles him. "He's in your head, Marvin! Like a siren!"
Alt oofs and then thanks Jackie, following after him to try to stop Marvin too.
Jack gets thrown back by the magic, landing next to where Schneep did earlier. "We're gonna get nowhere if we're separated!" he gasps.
Chase looks at Jack. "I-I'll see if I can help get Marvin free!" he says, swimming over.
While Mag is distracted, Anti darts for him, grabbing him from behind.
Magnificent laughs and then seems to feel the water shift as Anti darts out and he dodges out of the way. He growls and then snaps, making another big swirl of magic appear behind him, humming with power- lighting him up from behind in an eerie light. He growls, "You simple minded little fish aren't worth the water you swim in! You all will bow to me!"
But the merms know the ways of sirens by now. All of them looking at Mag--Jack, Anti, Jameson, and Schneep--quickly look away.
Schneep's a bit slow, as he's too busy shouting "You cannot* bow in the water, idiot!" but he remembers.
Anti laughs. "Let me tell you something you clearly don't understand. You're fucking outnumbered!" And all at once, the four of them rush Magnificent.
Magnificent growls at Schneep and the others, trying to back away. Jackie- still hiding, springs up and throws his stringer blade and its slices across Mag's arm- distracting him as he yells out. Bro grins and headbutts him from behind- pushing him into the frenzy of the other merms that tackle Magnificent into the sand. Magnificent screeches like an angry cat, flailing and clawing to try to get free.
Marvin throws Jackie off--something he normally wouldn't be able to do, but Jackie just can't bring himself to use too much force against his friend.
"Marvin! Chase shouts, grabbing the siren stone. "Look at me!" And Marvin does. "Don't listen to Magnificent! He doesn't control you!"
Alt sees the others have things with Mag handled and goes to help Chase, leaning down by Marvin. "Hey yeah- l-listen to Chase, you don't ever wanna work for that psycho- trust me! Your friends need you, Marvin."
"Fr-friends...?" Marvin repeats. "Friends..."
"Your friends," Chase repeats. "Us!" He swims closer, pointing to the side. "Look, we need help!"
Marvin follows Chase's pointing finger. He sees the others all tackling Magnificent to the ground. And suddenly, everything snaps back into place.
"No!" Marvin screeches, darting on over. The power stone in his hand glows brighter and brighter, and as Marvin plunges into the pile the others back away from Magnificent to make room for him.
The water suddenly gets very cold and there's a flash of bright light--
When the light recedes- Mag is trapped, squirming on the sandy ground, his arms frozen to his sides. He growls and snaps like an cornered predator.
"Miserable whelp! Unhand me! I'll fry you for this!" He hisses at Marvin.
Jackie cheers and pumps his hand into the air. "Yeahh!! Go Marvin!!"
Bro laughs and looms over Mag- "Best watch you say, Mag- a lot of us have veryyy sharp teeth." He playfully chomps towards Mag- making the mad magician flinch ever so slightly.
Alt sighs in relief, letting himself sag in the water.
"Fucker," Marvin snaps, trembling with rage and adrenaline. "Fucking fucker fuck--oof!" He's cut off as Jameson suddenly tackles him, knocking him to the side. "Who--Jameson? Jameson!" Marvin laughs and hugs him back, the two of them flying head over tail through the water.
I'm sorry I couldn't help you, Jameson says. I tried but he was too strong and I was so scared I'm sorry I'm sorry--
"No, no, it's okay! I would've felt horrible if he hurt you! O-or if I hurt you." They land in the sand, their tails wrapped around each other.
Chase watches the two of them and chuckles, smiling fondly.
Anti stares at Mag. "Can I shock him? Just a little?"
Alt grins, "Go for it, make it hurt." He tells Anti.
"Just... don't kill him?" Bro asks timidly.
"I can stun him?" Anti offers.
"That'd be helpful probably-" Jackie giggles, "We gotta get him back onto the boat to get him back home, right?"
"Oh fuck right... we gotta get home." Alt sighs.
Anti grins. "Got it." He swims up to Mag, grabbing him by the shoulders. "Back away," he tells the others. And once they're out of range--ZAP! Magnificent slumps unconscious.
The swaps all watch Anti shock him with wide eyed but impressed expressions.
"I underdid it a bit to avoid killing him," Anti says. "So he might wake up quickly. Get him on land soon, then."
"Got it." Jackie grabs Magnificent--not touching him, just holding him by the ice--and starts hauling him up to the surface.
"Man... that was satisfying to see." Jackie grins.
Bro laughs and then swims after Jackie, "I'll go help Jackie!"
Alt looks down and then slowly goes to swim over to Marvin and Jameson. He hesitates then settles down in the sand next to them. "Um... hey Marvin- I know we didn't really get a chance to meet... I'm Alt and uh... I just wanted to see if you were okay?"
Marvin looks at Alt, then at Jameson. Jameson nods and scoots a little bit to the side but keeps one arm around Marvin, the connected wing acting like a blanket. "Hi, Alt. I'm not hurt. If I'm okay, though... l-let's say that I-I'll have to think a lot about what happened."
Alt looks very sympathtic and he nods. "Yeah... I get it... it's not a great feeling."
Marvin shivers. "But not now. You, um... know that stranger, then? He was human at first." His eyes dart up and down Alt then land on his bracelet. "Are... you, too?"
Alt blinks at Marvin's questions and then nods again. "Yeah... Mag comes from where he came from. We're human but... me and him are magic. Like you and Jameson. That's why he wanted to... to use you. I'm so sorry that he did..."
Marvin nods. "It's not your fault. W-we never expected something like that. You must come from somewhere very far, I've never seen a human with magic before."
Jameson squeezes Marvin from the side supportively. Sorry, he signs again.
"It's really not your fault. I know how you are with nets like the one he conjured."
Jameson nods slowly, then looks at Alt and smiles. Thank you for help saving my life friend.
Alt looks surprised and then flushes slightly but grins. "I-It's so problem really... that's... that's what I do. Me and my brother, of course. G-Gotta try to use my magic for good, right?" He glances up at the water and deflates a bit before looking back at them. "... If we didn't have to deal with him... it'd be so cool to learn about all the magic and stuff you guys have here. You seriously havent seen any human magicians? All the magic is underwater? And that- that siren stone thing?? That's... so cool-" He grins, bouncing a bit. "Plus... swimming around like a merman is... really really brilliant." He laughs, "... gonna be hard to go back to being just- human."
Just behind him, you can see Jackie just swimming around the area, like he's trying to make the most of the time they have left.
"My teacher told me that once, humans knew how to draw magic from the water like we do," Marvin says. "But they stopped around the shipwreck era--um, a-about four hundred human years ago. Maybe they can learn how to do it again." He laughs a little. "I-I'm happy you're enjoying it. I think merms don't have nearly as much fun when we turn human. Or at least, Chase and Anti didn't."
Alt blinks, "Woah... that's so fascinating..."
Speaking of Chase, he swims down to join the others. "Hey... i-if you guys are okay, we're all going to the surface now," he says slowly.
Marvin nods. "We'll be right up there."
Alt looks back towards Chase and smiles, "Yeah... coming." He sighs and floats up, flicking his tail. "Welp- guess it's time." He smiles at them then whistles for Jackie.
"Hey speedy! We gotta get going!" Alt calls.
Jackieboy stops a little bit aways, "What??"
"WE GOTTA GET GOING!"
"AWWW REALLY??"
"YES REALLY YOU DORK- C'MON!"
"FINNEEE"
Alt rolls his eyes with a small laugh and then he surges up to the surface and Jackieboy reluctantly follows.
Back on the surface, Bro and Jackie have helped Ollie haul the unconscious Magnificent back onto the boat.
"I hope you all have magic to dry people's clothes and stuff," Ollie is saying. "This is dripping all over my deck."
Alt laughs and grabs Bro and Jackie and glitches all of them onto the boat's deck. They all still have some of their scales and fishy aspects but they at least have their legs again. Alt mutters a quick spell word and all of them get dried off and he beams at Ollie. "There you go! No issue!"
One by one, everyone else surfaces.
"Ahlee!" Marvin says, delighted.
"Hey there." Ollie smiles at him. "The others said you went through some stuff. So here. I know this probably won't help much but here." He crouches down and hands something out for Marvin. A paper bowl of ice cream with a spoon.
"Oooo." Marvin takes it. "Than' yoo than' yoo!" he says in English.
Alt  crouches down by Mag and pokes him slightly. "... guess Mag is stuck as a fish until he wakes up."
"Can we leave him to suffoc-" Jackie almost says excitedly before Bro bops him on the head. "No Jackie-"
"He'll probably wake up soon," Anti says. "I didn't shock him that hard."
"You know we can breathe air, right?" Jackie says.
Schneep nods. "There are gills, but there are also lungs, though the airways close instinctively once the gills submerge."
"Ohhh yeah- that makes sense." Jackie says.
"Does that mean technically fish can breathe a bit of air?" Bro asks curiously.
"Some can! Upwards of 30 minutes!" Jackie beams. "Just gotta keep their gills wet."
"We're not fish, though, we're merms," Jackie says. "So we can breathe air for as long as we want!... but we'll dry out eventually. Like whales."
Poor whales, Jameson comments sadly.
"So... you guys are really leaving now?" Jack asks. "Are you... going to come back? W-we don't have too many human friends. It's just Ollie, Stacy and Roxy, and Lise... They all end in 'ee' sounds, weird."
Alt smiles sadly and then nods. "Yeah... we gotta go. This one is real squirmy." He lightly kicks Mag, who grumbles a bit. But, his expression does light up. "...I... I wanna come back- someday. For sure this was... really fun."
"I wanna take Zara and the kids sometime!!" Jackie shouts, stimming.
"You'll need to get me sooo much food and energy for that to happen," Alt responds, but he does smile. "...but that would be awesome."
"Do you guys need me to drop you off somewhere?" Ollie asks.
Alt then blinks and looks at Ollie before shaking his head. "Nah, we should be good. All we need is-" He finds his bag and digs out the TRVLR, "-this. Though- we should all change back into our clothes and shit." He giggles.
"Well, we'd love to see you again!" Chase says. "If you ever have a hard time finding us, I'm around Maya Beach a lot. That's where I met Stacy.”
"Oh! Was that the beach I showed up on? Sweet! That'll be easy to remember then!" Bro grins.
"Oh, no you showed up at the lagoon where I live," Jack says. "I don't know if it has a human name. None of them have showed up there... uh... ever?"
"That one's called Brightwave Lagoon," Chase adds. "Because the waves glow bright with all the phytoplankton. It's hard to get to but they know about it."
"Or if you want to stop by Jameson and me, we live in Lough Baintrie," Marvin says.
Just wait on the beach, we'd rather come up to you, Jameson adds.
“We, um... can't exactly call you. Phones don't work underwater." Chase says.
"I have a tablet," Anti says. "I can make the screen go white if I pulse." Not sure what that has to do with this. Maybe he just wanted to mention it.
Jackie blinks at Anti, "That'sss great?" He tries to say encouragingly.
"Don't get near my tablet!" Alt says, slipping on his hoodie and shoes again. He grabs his marker and scribbles out the runes and soon enough his fishy scales and stuff turn blue then disappear.
Bro and Jackie follow his lead, getting back on the clothes they took off and Alt makes quick work of getting rid of their runes too.
Pretty soon they're all back to normal. Around the time they finish, Mag suddenly gasps loudly and then coughs, flailing like the caught fish he is.
Alt glitches down by him and grins sinisterly. "Oh look guys! We caught a catfish~!"
Mag growls and with a snap of his magic- he's back to his normal self but he's still caught up in Marvin's magic.
Bro makes quick work of picking him up and holding him on his shoulder as Magnificent spits profanities and threats.
Jackie leans over the rails and grins. "We'll be back to see you all again, for sure! And next time, we can all just have some fun, alright?"
Alt grins and nods, "Yeah, for sure."
Bro leans over Alt and looks at the screen as he sets up the TRVLR. "...any idea what got us sent here instead of home last time, Alt?"
Alt frowns, "No idea... I was sure I had the right address." He makes sure to mark this one down in their favorites before finding theirs again. "Maybe... Anti-Virus just- shorted it out or something. I'm sure it'll work this time."
"I do hope your device works," Schneep says. "I do not understand it, but I am sure it was just a mistake."
"Maybe pulse it extra hard," Anti suggests.
"But not too hard, you don't want to break it," Jackie says.
Alt can't help but laugh at Anti's suggestion but he nods, "I'll try."
Jack laughs lightly. "Well. I hope we'll see you again, wherever you find us."
"Um... bye, I guess," Ollie adds with a wave. "Nice to meet you."
Alt takes a second to smile at Ollie, his expression softening. "Yeah... nice to meet you too."
"And we'll remember all those places!" Jackie says, tapping his forehead. "Got it all up here!"
"So it'll be gone in 5 minutes!" Bro jokes.
"Hey! You're one to talk!" Jackie pouts, hitting Bro.
"Hey careful! Holding a very squirmy villain here!"
"I will cut all of you to ribbons!" Magnificent spits.
Alt rolls his eyes and grabs the others, "Yeah yeah- we've heard that before."
"We'll make sure to find you again next time too, Ollie!" Bro grins cheekily.
Alt elbows him in the ribs. "Okay we should go! Bye you guys!" And Alt tries to add a bit more of his energy and magic into the TRVLR as he pushes the jump button.
And they fall into the darkness and greenlight once again. But, just as last jump, their fall shifts slightly. Like leaves caught in a breeze, their course is diverted for a second time.

The Hero and Mage
Jse Puppet Au
Jackie and Marvin first meet.
----------------------------------------------
The door slammed shut, the hero staring at it for a moment before covering his face. " God fucking danm it Reagan..." he felt soft tears beginning to form until he heard a creek. His head popped up and he looked around, " Shit..." he picked himself up, frantically looking around his apartment. " I'm not gonna hurt you Jackie.." Reagan came walking out from Jackie's bedroom. Jackie put his hands up in a defensive position " Oh now you aren't? But earlier when your buds were around you were completely fine with this!? " Jackie screamed. His own best friend. The sole person he had, the only person he had. Completely betraying his trust, handing him over to the villains. Being a villian himself this whole time. " They don't want to hurt you! They just..wanna know how you got these powers...we all kinda do. " Reagan sighed, Jackie just stared at him. He didn't know how to respond. " I mean..think of how these could help people! You seem to be in good health! " Reagan paused after that, Jackie just giving him a very doubtful look. " Okay. Maybe you aren't. But seriously powers like these are extraordinary...if properly controlled. "
" I can control them. "
" Can you? What if there's more you don't know about? What if you black out when these powers are used? Look Iris isn't gonna like..fuckin kill you. It'd just be..light testing. And you get free housing! "
" A cell. I'm gonna get a cell aren't I? Because I'm gonna be treated like a science experiment. Because this is EXACTLY what happens in the comics. " Reagan groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose " Jaxson life isn't one big fuckin comic book! Life is a lot more serious. Yeah this is gonna be a bit of an experiment. Because they need to know if you're safe or not. " Jackie paused for a moment. " I am safe. Sure I'm not the greatest at it but I help people! I use what I have for good! I've messed up a few times sure, the first time that robot apocalypse wasn't a thing but the second time that guy did have bad intentions!! Probably had bad intentions the first time too..." he sighed " I just..I trusted you. You were the only person in my life who knew. And then I find out you're working for people who have helped villians!? Seriously Reagan how am I supposed to trust you! "
Reagan groaned and slammed his hand into the wall. He paused for a second then sighed, regaining his composure, patting down his outfit. Jackie stepped back a bit.
" I'm gonna keep being a hero. I'm gonna keep being JackieBoy-Man despite how completely unserious that name is, yknow why? Because in a world as shitty as this where people shitty like you can get away with what you do..somebody needs to be a beacon of hope. Because you all sure as hell aren't. " The two stared at each other, Jackie putting himself into a more defensive position. Reagan pulled out his phone, shaking his head a bit " They'll be here soon anyways. You have no where you can go...I'm sorry Jaxson it's for your own good. " Jackie's eyes widened..he got away the first time out of dumb luck, lucky that Chase was willingly to hear him out so randomly. I mean, to Jackie, Chase was just the barista he happened to like at the local Cafe. And to Chase, Jackie was just a regular he happened to get along with. Now Chase knows about Jackie too. Maybe..he'd be willing to help Jackie out a bit? Doubt he works for Iris.
The two stood there as Jackie tried to figure out what to do, until something began happening. Some portal looking thing on the ceiling.."...Yall can make portals? " Jackie questioned, looking up at it. Reagan shook his head " Not that I know of...I thought that was you- " the two looked at each other for a moment fairly confused. Faint yelling could be heard, slowly getting louder until someone crashed down in between the two as the portal closed.
"...I don't think he works for Iris- "
" Definitely not- "
The males head popped up as he looked at the two " Iris?! " he held his head a little as he picked himself up, putting his other hand out a little, " What do either of you have to do with that organization.." he had a bit of a British accident to him, long brown hair too with some green. Looked extremely beat up. " Well apparently my so called 'best friend' fucking works for them! " Jackie used both his hands to point to Reagan, Reagan just glared over at him. " And they wanna run experiments on me! I mean how crazy is that!? "
" YOU HAVE SUPER POWERS JAXSON!! THATS NOT FUCKING NORMAL!! "
" SO?? IVE LITERALLY BEEN GOING OUT SAVING PEOPLE?? I CAN PUNCH A LITTLE HARDER AND IM A BIT MORE...ACROBATIC WITH MY ACROBATICS!! "
The male stared at the two for a moment and sighed " I take it you don't like them then? " he looked at Jackie before there was a bang at the door. The three looked over at if before Jackie turned to the male " You can call me Jackieboy, and if you don't like them either mind helpin' a guy out right now?? " The male looked at Jackie for a moment before nodding. " Marvin. " The two got into defensive positions, Reagan sighed " Great..even more paperwork with portal freak...", Marvin turned around to Reagan with a glare " Believe me, the only paperwork being filled out will be an incident report of your men. " He waved his hand across his face as a Cat mask went across it. Jackie looked over in total awe " Oh my god are you like..a fuckin super hero too!? " his eyes practically lit up as Marvin turned over " Ehh..not exactly. Let's worry about that later. "
Within seconds of him saying that the door busted down, Iris workers practically surrounding the door, flooding into the room. Guns and other weapons were aimed at the two as Jackie adjusted his mask, though in all reality it was a bit useless right now. " Lets kick some ass kitty-cat! " A grin went over Jackie's face, though Marvin gave him a confused look. He shook it off however, focusing for a moment before sending a powerful energy blast towards the employees, sending them all back against the walls. Jackie stood there jaw dropped " I...holy shit man- "
" Come on! I'll fend them off while we run. " Marvin took hold of Jackie's one hand and began running out of the room, jumping over any guards in the way. " WAIT!!! WHERE ARE WE GOING?? " Jackie yelled out, trying to keep up the pace, " Wherever! Anywhere away from here is good! " Marvin looked back for a moment before sending another blast just barely past Jackie. While he definitely knew what he was doing it didn't change how reckless he was being. The two ran out into the streets of the city as guards followed behind them, almost feeling endless. Marvin swiftly ran into an alley, pulling Jackie down along side him by the side of a trashcan. He watched as the guards ran by, leaving out a sigh of relief. " Should give us enough time to find somewhere safe..." he looked at Jackie for a moment " Why would they want you for your powers? That just seems unreasonable..."
" Tell me about it!! I mean...you don't see people every day with powers but I can punch a little harder than normal and they think I wanna like...kill people?? Like hell no!! "
Marvin quick hushed Jackie, looking out from the alley before pulling back and sighing again. " You're awfully loud..." he shook his head a little. " Do you know anywhere safe we could say for the time being? Couple hours at least..." he looked out once more, letting go of Jackie's hand and standing up. Jackie shrugged " Uhm...I know a nice Bar? I don't really go to drink but the owner is really nice. " he suggested, Marvin nodded. " Take us there then. " he said as he took the mask he was once wearing off. He had a rather large scar covering his one eye, with a smaller one under his other eye. Jackie stared at him for a moment then nodded " Yeah! Just..when we get there can ya explain that whole portal thing?? "
The two made their way out of the alley, heading down the streets as the streetlights began to shine. It was getting rather dark. They walked for a little before making their way into the Starcrossed Tavern.
~~~~~~~~
" Wait!? So because you wanted to stop this like freaky demon thing that IRIS made your magic buddies exiled you to another universe!? " Marvin loudly hushed at Jackie before taking a swig of his drink. " Yes..now can you please keep it down?? We don't need other people hearing this.." he sighed. " I need to stop him though. He followed me here last second..I want to stop him before he can wreak any more havoc..." he held his head a little. Jackie looked at him for a moment " Why don't we make a deal? You help me out with Iris, and I'll help you with this demon thing! I may not be the most helpful but..better to do it with someone then alone, plus I'm sure my punches could do some damage. " Jackie smiled, a hopeful smile. Marvin paused
" I..as much as I appreciate the offer it..I don't believe it's safe for someone else to get involved.."
" Believe me dude, I've delt with a lot that IRIS or other villains have thrown at me. Besides you helped me today, I owe you! "
Marvin sat there for a moment, looking off to the side. " Ifff you let me I'll let you crash with me! Though we..probably have to stay at a hotel..assuming I have the money to even afford a room..." Jackie lacked...a lot in the funds department. Marvin laughed a little "...Okay then. A deal. " Jackie smiled happily, doing that little yes pose with his arm. " Great! A deal between Jaxon Ridge and Marvin the Magician! " he held his glass up, Marvin laughed tapping his own against Jackie's " I guess so...though please I am much more than a magician. Much more...magnificent than that. " he said, taking another sip of his drink.
" Fine then! Jaxon Ridge...no...Jackieboy-Man, and Marvin the Magnificent! Hows that sound? "
"...Sounds perfect. "
Shannon: Hi Pocket, I was re-reading the new Marvin and Jackie fanfic and I just remembered that Jackie's birthday was last week and Marvin's is coming up soon. Hard to believe that both of them have been around for 7 years. Anyway, if you don't mind me asking, I was wondering do you have any tickle headcannons for Jackie, like what he's like as a lee and/or ler.
Gosh…Im not sure.
Lee!Jackieboy Man:
-very much a tough man who will crumble if someone tickles him.
-He’s used to hard blows and hits to his middle and back. But really soft touches?! That barely ever happens! It catches him off guard very often.
-Usually superhero’s are good at hiding their weaknesses. But…you so much as touch Jackie’s side, he will turn into a giggly mess. He sucks at hiding how ticklish he is.
-Everyone was surprised when they found out Jackie was ticklish. But they grew to rather love this side of Jackie!
-If Jackie wants tickles, he will usually start tickling the person first, and won’t protest when the person tickles him back. In fact, he has been known to give up the upper hand if the person tickles him back. And when his friends ask why he will give up the upper hand, Jackie reacts playfully by saying “I gotta be humble once in a while…” or “I don’t feel like making you cry because you lost”. And of course…his answer always earns him more tickles.
-his red suit is AWFUL at covering up his ticklish spots during battle, which kinda sucks…he’s hoping to get an upgrade, but that costs a lot of money. And let’s face it: he’s not really being paid for saving the day.
-The main spots to go for on Jackie, are his armpits, sides and neck.
-There was one time when a little girl thought it would be funny to tickle Jackie while she was hugging him. Jackie let out a few laughs of surprise before getting out of the hug with an awkward laugh. “Gotcha!” She declared with an evil giggle, before running back to her mom with a proud look on her face. Though Jackie laughs at it now, he had to be honest about the nervousness he felt after that little moment. He now had to hope and pray that the both the girl and the mom were good at keeping secrets…And that no cameras caught his little reaction.
Ler!Jackieboy Man
-The dude doesn’t really see tickling as a fighting tactic, unless literally nothing else works on the villain. He prefers to treat tickling like a bonding experience for friends, rather than a combat tactic in battle. Plus if he ever used tickling…the villain may end up finding out about Jackie’s ticklishness and use it against him too.
-He rather enjoys tickling his close friends. He will use his flying powers to his advantage and poke them while flying upside down. One of his favorite things to do is lift his friends a couple feet off the ground and tickle them…though depending on which of his friends are scared of heights, he will make sure their face is facing the ground, or facing Jackie. Though he does occasionally start the tickle fights, Jackie prefers only tickling them when his friends tease or tickle him first.
-Jackie never tickles strangers or children for fear of pushing boundaries and causing unneeded controversy. Though he does allow high fives, fist bumps and hugs when kids want them.
-Though, there was one time at a kids festival, when a child gave him his stuffed animal, and Jackie voiced the little stuffy before making it nibble and tickle the kid’s neck a few times. The kid absolutely loved the playfulness, and did the same thing right back to him when Jackie gave him the stuffy back. Jackie’s heart leaped and filled to the brim with love when the kid hugged him afterwards. Next thing he knew, a picture of Jackie with the kid and the stuffed animal, had showed up in the local newspaper with the caption “Jackieboy Man Plays With Stuffy While at The Family Day Festival”.
-Jackie has always loved being playful and silly. He’s not afraid to let the childish side of himself come out. And that’s part of what makes him such a special superhero. He’s always knows when he’s allowed to be goofy, and when he has to be serious.
So…Jackie’s very much a switch.
I've had either the worst or best idea ever for an AU
I finished watching the entirety of "The Umbrella Academy" and I'm currently waiting on Season 4. So, scrolling through Tumblr like the procrastinator that I am, I had an idea: What if the JSE egos were in The Umbrella Academy?
There's four parts to this:
Explanation of the AU (proposing two scenarios)
JSE characters as The Umbrella Academy based on powers
JSE characters as The Umbrella Academy based on personality/vibes
JSE characters as their own academy
Obviously, this contains spoilers for all seasons, so yeah. This is also pretty long and I might be expanding on this if I like it enough.
Explanation: There are two scenarios that can happen for this AU. Either the characters are The Umbrella Academy and the actual Umbrella Academy members are out living their lives or it's a separate timeline like in Season 3 where the original UA (I'm calling the Umbrella Academy UA to make it easier) got trapped in the 1960s, lived their lives, and messed up the timeline and resulted in not the Sparrow Academy, but the Septic Academy. I'm addressing both options here regarding who is what. First is sorting by powers. Some egos have confirmed powers (Marvin and Anti), some have speculated powers (Jameson and I guess Jackieboy?), and some don't have any at all (Henrik and Chase). Anti as Viktor:
Tumblr media
Viktor's (or Vanya's if you haven't caught up yet) powers can be described as "supersonic", able to manipulate the space around the user. Anti's glitching powers have the same feel as supersonic abilities. According to the official wiki, Viktor has the following powers:
Sound Manipulation
Energy Manipulation
Telekinesis
Atmokinesis
Enhanced Hearing
Power Distribution
Being a glitched alter ego of Sean, Anti would most likely be able to possess these powers since his fall along the same lines, being able to manipulate certain things.
Chase as Diego:
Tumblr media
Chase having projectile precision would've boosted his show by a lot. Considering his experience with a Nerf gun, he'd be able to train himself to control the projectiles/bullets to go where he'd want them to go.
The fact that Diego can manipulate the projectiles that come for him also play a part in the situation as well
Henrik as Klaus:
Tumblr media
Klaus' ability to communicate with the dead (as primarily seen with Ben/Number Six) seems like something Henrik would have, especially considering that Klaus thinks of his ability to be a curse. Having the dead surrounding him whenever he's sober would lead to Klaus drinking and getting high, which could (in some sense) apply to Henrik.
The surgeries failing over time and his performance slipping along with the accumulation of the dead coming around to "haunt" Henrik would lead to him trying to fix everything with drugs and alcohol. The fandom occasionally describes Henrik as an avid coffee drinker and coffee has caffeine, which is addictive.
I feel like Henrik has been in scenarios that would've led him to die, but he's come back to life through his abilities (Klaus can revive after some time), which would probably lead him to be "fit" for his job. Never having to really have the hospital treat his wounds from anything and he's basically immortal.
Jackieboy as Luther:
Tumblr media
Strength is a trait that is popularly associated with superheroes, so it would make sense that Jackie would have it. Especially during combat, it would fit the best.
Jackie would be the one who uses his strength the most out of the others. I'm sorry I literally have no other explanation for this.
Jameson as Five:
Tumblr media
I've associated JJ with time, especially the transition part in the first JJ video. Five's ability to time travel/wrap through time fits into JJ presumably having time travel powers.
These time traveling abilities would've been put to use by The Commission, leading to everything that occurred, primarily teen Five finding the older version of himself and trying to take the briefcase from him to send his family home.
Even though we don't know exactly how long Sean was transported into the past and "turned" into JJ (in the first video), it can be assumed that it turned into a similar situation like Five's where he tried to jump into time and went too far, getting stuck in the future after the apocalypse and then getting his siblings separated into different times in the 1960s of Dallas, Texas.
Marvin as Allison:
Tumblr media
Allison has the ability to rumor people into doing whatever she wants them to do. Marvin would have most likely used this to his ability in gaining whatever he could get, but using it sparingly like Allison. If he ever has to, then he will.
Later on in Season 3 when Viktor and Harlan were trying to use the powers Viktor gave him to take them away and Allison went in too far in the dome that the supersonic powers created, she developed these supersonic powers, but for her voice. Either through this or another method, Marvin would've found a way to "enhance" his ability, even by accident.
Now, it's time for the personalities/vibes matching time!
Anti as Five:
Tumblr media
Five and Anti have this "Fuck it, I stopped giving a shit years ago" attitude to them that fits their characters. Five basically experienced 3 apocalypses, did every calculation known to man, and killed more people than suggested and things still went sideways. Anti (besides the calculations because I feel like he can't do math to save his life) would be the same way, pulling all kinds of strings (sorry JJ-) to have things go his way and still things go to shit.
Even though nobody's insignificant, his actions appear to be. Well, in the context of if he was in Five's place.
Chase as Allison:
Tumblr media
Allison loved and lost twice confirmed and who knows how many more attempts she had to go through. Chase losing the people that mattered to him (Stacy and his kids) is the same with Allison (Patrick, Claire, and Ray).
Along with this, they both do their best to help their siblings and stand for things they want, but there's a limit. I feel like Chase would get into the most arguments with his brothers relating to morals and ethics, especially behind decisions that really have an impact. It's what Allison has going for her.
Henrik as Viktor:
Tumblr media
Viktor feels like everything is his fault and although the apocalypses are, most things really aren't. He was just the wrong person in the wrong time. Everything shitty that happened, Viktor would blame himself for.
Henrik would be the same way, especially with the deaths of his patients. Some would be in his control (surgeries/wrong medications) and some if not most wouldn't be (didn't receive help in time/doomed to die anyway/sudden accident).
They'd both try to make up for their heavy mistakes and mostly, it wouldn't work. Although Anti would be more of the scapegoat like Viktor, Henrik would actually feel the guilt and weight of his choices and actions unlike Anti.
Jackie as Diego:
Tumblr media
Both want to be the hero that they aspire to be, even going as far as taking stupidly grand measures to do so. The want to be Number One because they think they deserve it more than the actual Number One (more like wanting to be the one calling the shots). The possible feeling of people thinking they're insane because of their mindset.
Yet, despite what feels like the world being against their wishes of being vigilantes, they still do it anyway. They could possibly break a few rules (or laws) in the process, but they go head in and hardly think about what comes next until it happens.
Jameson as Klaus:
Tumblr media
Klaus has tried his best to fix the wrongs that he sees, but has basically given up after his powers were used against him by Reginald. Although I don't think that JJ would have the same thing happen (it better not happen-), he'd still give up after doing everything to fix things, especially with the JSE lore.
Klaus has a carefree attitude that basically wants chaos, and I feel like JJ would be the same but just toned down a bit.
Marvin as Ben:
Tumblr media
For the sake of the argument, I'll be referring to the Umbrella version of Ben (in case that wasn't really clear-).
The only reason Ben hasn't left Klaus is because he was afraid of going into the light (I assume that means that going into the light would make someone officially dead instead of a ghost). Marvin has probably been in a death situation or has felt like he has the choice to leave, but just can't.
Both decide to keep it real, even if it's irritating to the other(s) to listen to. They serve almost as a lesson on what to do and what not to do.
Now for the actual powers. Some have confirmed powers, but I'll still briefly talk about them as a review of their powers.
Anti:
Tumblr media
His powers would be similar to Viktor's, being able to manipulate matter, energy, and/or sound, but in the use of glitches instead like virtual glitches. Static/brown noise would follow his powers as sort of an aftermath of using his powers.
Chase:
Tumblr media
Similarly to Diego, he'd be able to manipulate the trajectory of projectiles either directed away or towards him.
Henrik:
Tumblr media
Like Julieta from Encanto, he'd be able to heal people. Instead of food, he'd do it through minimal operations with the use of medical supplies. So, he'd still have to use whatever the hospital provides, but way less of it.
Jackie:
Tumblr media
He'd either have super speed, super strength, or both. I know that the X-Ray vision is mentioned, but I think of that as being a perk that he built into his mask.
Jameson:
Tumblr media
Like Five, he'd be able to time-travel. He just has to use his pocket watch or something since it's related to time.
Marvin:
Tumblr media
I feel like Marvin would be able to do a watered down version of whatever everyone else can do along with whatever magic his spellbook has. His mask enhances his magic and allows him to do insane and grand scaled magic.
Surprise: Sean is Sir Reginal Hargreeves!
I'll add more things later on
It's been awhile since I've looked at the Septicegos, do you mind catching me up? I'd watch it but I don't have the spoons for YouTube right now, Tumblr is all I can deal with right now
I'm not sure how long you mean when you say "awhile", so I don't know where to start to catch you up. I guess I'll just say that when we last saw them:
Jackieboy is still MIA. No surprise there, sadly.
Last we saw Marvin, he messed around with a crystal ball and a book of dark magic. He saw visions of the others and opened a portal.
We saw Schneep frantically writing equations and notes at his desk and then a portal opened on his end.
Chase got evicted and was angry/grieving, living in his car all alone and then I think offscreen we heard a portal sound for him too.
Jameson put on a little murder mystery puppet show for fun and then Anti possessed him while he signed desperately for help.
I’ve been meaning to give him a nicer, more detailed suit for a while now. I’m still going to adjust some stuff - make the bottom of the dark part on the tighs wider so that it doesn’t look so weird and make the hood red instead - but generally, I’m pretty happy with it.
More ramblings under the cut
Consciously designing costumes is hard, but fun. Also, I hate designing anything on paper, this is the curse of not having digital art at my disposal, why did I do this.
Anyway, some details:
The parts over the knees and elbows (the parts with the seams, except on the right elbow where I forgot them) are reinforced.
The gloves are modelled after parkour gloves, since Jackie gets around the more unreachable parts of the city mostly via parkour. There’s padding over the knuckles and on the palm (for better grip) and support for the wrists.
The pockets on the utility belt are enchanted to be bigger than they look. They have snacks (most of which are ganola bars), a bottle or two of water, a basic first aid kit and some miscellaneous but useful things in them. There’s also a grappling hook with rope, usually hung separately on the belt for easy access.
The boots have ridged soles split in the middle, once again for easier parkour, as well as ankle support.
The whole suit has a weak, basic level of illusion magic. It makes Jackie look flat-chested without having to wear a binder (and thus risk health problems), as well as making him blend into the shadows easily despite the bright colours.
Them:
Them: Let me guess: he likes playing Nerf?
Me: He's an alcoholic single dad who was divorced because he was a manchild and he is being haunted by a demon who won't leave him alone and his kids may have been kidnapped and he's been evicted from his home and basically his whole life is a mess and he needs all the heroes and magic folk and doctors to save him.
Them:
Me:
Them: Is the dapper guy saving him as well?
Happiness- Chapter 2
I hope you enjoyed the first chapter! It just kind of appeared in my mind last night lol
Well here's chapter 2 I hope you enjoy!!
Pairing- Chase Brody x OC
Warnings- swearing, sadness, mentions of divorce, pretty much just Chase's story
(I am so sorry about the picture)
---
Tumblr media
"MARVIN WHAT THE HELL!" Chase yelled as he burst through the door to Marvin's room.
Both Marvin and Jackie stared at him with wide eyes, seeming rather scared of his wrath for whatever it is Marvin did.
Marvin very quickly smiled at him, "Hello to you as well Chase, can I help you with something?"
"Marvin you know exactly what you did,"
A smirk played on the magician's mouth, yeah he could definitely play this game.
"I'm not too sure about that Chase. None of my magic has involved you recently,"
"Stop playing dumb. This dude is kind of creepy and I know you're behind it. He said you were friends!" Chase raised his voice slightly, now was not the time for Marvin's games. He didn't enjoy the entire experience with Adriann and him suddenly having his number out of no where was creepy.
"Oh? Who are you talking about?" Seriously, Marvin? Stop messing with him like this. If the magician is seriously confused then there's a much bigger problem here.
"Adriann obviously,"
---
"God save the prom queen only 18...." Adriann trailed off as the song continued. Slightly dancing around the room as he awaited yet another text.
For a moment he stopped, eyeing a small plant on a shelf nearby. The pot it's in is bright and colorful, the plant itself having soft looking rounded petals. Each petal the color of a fire, it's unlike any other plant.
Adriann smiled as he gently picked off one of the petals, making sure to not burn himself on its heat as he slowly began to tear it into pieces. He spoke quietly and slowly as he added it into a small bowl with the other ingredients.
"One for hope, two for peace, three for love. Heat it slow for all to come," He breathed out slowly. He'd never done this spell before and hoped for it to work. Its likely that it won't upset the energy balance, which is good. No need to upset the balance or throw off other magic users.
Adrian didn't approve of intruding in other's lives so he hopes this goes well. The consequences wouldn't be dire, but the thought is something he'd rather not toy with. His own fate is a different story. Maybe this'll turn out good, then again, Karma is a bitch.
The liquid within the bowl turned a bright red before vanishing all together in a puff of pastel colored smoke. Of course it didn't work. Or maybe it did. Adriann wasn't sure what the result of that one was supposed to look like.
He continued to just listen to the music in the background and ponder what went wrong until his phone went off. Picking it up, he looked at the notification to see it was a text from Marvin.
Marv: I told you that you'd meet him ;)
He snorted upon reading the message and composed a decent response.
Adriann 🦄: I hope I didn't scare him or anything. I didn't want to overwhelm him.
Adriann: Btw he's very cute 😉😁
---
"Chase calm down, Adriann is just very out there. He doesn't mean any harm I assure you. I had nothing to do with you two meeting the other day,"
Yeah, because Chase has every reason to believe that one.
"Marvin please just tell him to back off,"
"Not until you give him a chance,"
"What are you guys talking about ?" Jackieboy chimed in. He'd been oddly quiet while trying to figure out what they were talking about, but at this point he's completely lost.
So Chase decided to explain.
"One of Marvin's friends met me and he's really really weird and I really don't want him around me. He's very creepy,"
"Why don't you just get to know him then?"
Will every attempt at this always lead back to that? Seriously?
Marvin once more turned to Chase, a smile on his lips.
"I can't say anything about it, but please just give him a chance. You won't regret it in the long run," He finished, looking hopefully at Chase. Maybe Adriann will go as planned, maybe not. They both need it though.
Chase sighed, "Fine, but if he keeps being creepy then I'm out, got it?"
Marvin nodded, seemingly content for now. Since when is he so persistent anyway?
He walked out the room and downstairs to the living room. Chase sat down on the couch pulling out his phone to text the embodiment of crazy.
Chase: Hey
He was shocked to get a message almost immediately.
---
Adriann🦄: Hey there friendo! How are you on this lovely April day?
Adriann pursed his lips anxiously as he awaited Chase's reply, he really can't mess this up.
Chase: Oh you know, the normal. Just texting a crazy person and wishing I were in bed
Adriann 🦄: I'm sorry
It dawned on him how overwhelming he must've seemed the other day. Well that's not a good sign.
Chase: Huh?
Adriann 🦄: When we met I was being very, me. Ik I'm a bit much sometimes. I'm sorry
That's a proper apology, right? Its been a while since he's done one of those.
Chase: Its fine dude, I've just had a rough time and I wasn't expecting that
Adriann🦄: Well, how about another round of coffee again sometime?
Chase: Hell fucking no.
Well that escalated quickly. Adriann hadn't expected that. Did Chase hate being with him that much?
Chase: Don't take it to heart dude. I'm not gay in the slightest, I'm stressed as fuck, and I'm still trying to get over being divorced. The last thing I want to do is go on a date with you. Its not ever happening.
Well then. Adriann sighed, throwing his phone to the side. That's definitely enough talking to living beings for tonight.
He just met Chase, he wants to get to know him better, but its obvious he's on guard. He mentioned to Adriann he's getting over being divorced, that definitely must be rough on him. Maybe he should just leave Chase alone? But then maybe he will just stay sad? Adriann doesn't know how long ago this divorce was, but he does know he can help Chase feel better.
So that's what he'll do.
As he lay on the couch Adriann made a silent promise to the man.
'I'll make you happy Chase, or I'll die trying.'
Hello. I'm new to your blog, and your art seems nice. I just thought I should send this. I'm still learning about all these egos. If your could introduce them, that would be cool. It's okay if you don't. It's really your choice.
Sure!! I don’t see why not!!
It’s gonna get long so I’m gonna put it under a read more!
Antisepticeye
Okay so first there’s Anti, aka Antisepticeye!! He started off as like a parody of Darkiplier (Mark’s dark ego but that’s another can of worms) created by the fandom some time in 2013-2014, and Jack liked the concept so much that he made a canon appearance on Halloween of 2016 in a video called “S̺͍͉Ḁ̸̰̮Y̶̪ ̳͇̭G̕҉̡̦̲O̤̫͖Ò̴̬̠D̨̺̦B̸̬̻Y҉̫̝̖E̲̩͟”, but Anti’s canon birthday is on October 10th!!
He’s a glitch demon that wants to take over Jack’s channel and calls all his fans his “puppets”! (He’s different in my verse but shh.)
Anti is technically the oldest ego in terms of existence if you don’t count Angus, but still!
Angus the Survival Hunter
Speaking of which, there’s Angus the Survival hunter! He’s not technically an official ego, but back in Jack’s early days on YouTube, he use to do this series called The Survival Hunter, which is where Angus’s character came from!! He speaks with an Australian accent and is basically a parody of Crocodile Dundee! He travels the wilderness a lot and he loves animals! His birthday is on April 4th!
Jackieboy Man
Next is Jackieboy Man! He started off as a joke to be a parody of superheroes (Jack loves superheroes tho so it was playful), but the community developed him into his own serious character! He wears a red-orange jumpsuit and a blue mask, but ppl like adding to his costume and making it more interesting! He’s based off of Spider-Man a bit, since that’s Jack’s fav superhero, and he has powers like flying and x-ray vision along with coding and hacking skills! He’s Jack’s third oldest ego, and his birthday is on July 10th!
Marvin the Magnificent
Then there’s Marvin the Magnificent! He’s only made one canon appearance in one of Jack’s Power Hour videos, but what of his personality is shown is that he’s a magician that wants to make it big someday, but he doesn’t have a lot of self-confidence and can be a bit cynical about his magic, but he’s doing his best! He wears a white cat mask with card symbols on the forehead, a blue shirt, and a black cape! While he canonically can’t do much besides card tricks and sleight of hand, the fandom likes to portray him with actual magic and that he writes sigils and performs spells and does a lot of mystical magic! He also really loves sushi and it’s his favorite food! He’s Jack’s fourth ego, and his birthday is on August 11th!
Henrik von Schneeplestein
Then we have the good doctor, Henrik von Schneeplestein, but everyone usually calls him Dr. Schneeplestein or just Schneep! He appeared in Jack’s second Power Hour video, and he’s also made appearances in Jack’s Bio Inc. Redemption series! Like his title suggests, he’s a doctor of German decent who speaks with a German accent and somewhat broken English! He is very optimistic and energetic about his work, but he’s also a huge sass master! He’s closest with Jack and Chase Brody (an ego I will mention later), and he also saved Chase from death!
He loves teaching others about his work, even if he gets his words mixed up sometimes. He has a wife and kid(s), but his wife left him for her tennis instructor, Rick, so he doesn’t have the best relationship with her, and it’s heavily implied that they’re divorced. To quote the wiki: “Schneep is highly independent and adaptable. He prefers not to use instructions or conventional tools and works best when he can explain what he’s doing to an audience, even addressing his patients when they’re under anesthetics and acting as if they reply. He tends to get very cranky when he hasn’t had his morning coffee.” He’s a huge coffee addict and it’s basically what he lives on. He’s Jack’s fifth ego, and his birthday is on September 15th!
Chase Brody
#suicide mention
Next is Chase Brody! Like most of Jack’s egos, he started off as a parody of a video personality called Dude Perfect! Chase appeared in his “own” video called “Teabag Edition | Bro Average”, and that’s why Chase is called Bro Average Chase, and it’s also why his last name is Brody! He’s a video maker and he loves performing trick shots and stunts with his nerf gun!
In the Teabag video, he throws teabags into coffee cups from various distances! He loves fun and good humor, but he has a bad habit of hiding his vulnerable side behind a smile. He has an ex-wife named Stacy and he has two kids with her, and they have a really bad relationship. Stacy basically hates him and repeatedly threatens to have full custody of his kids, which destroys him. At the end of his vlog, he seemingly commits suicide via his nerf gun, but a real gunshot can be heard when he fires it at his head. The end of the video shows him opening his eyes, though, so he doesn’t end up dying, and it’s canon that Schneep was the one who saved him from dying!
He wants to be there for his kids and be a good dad to them, but Stacy makes it very hard for him. He’s Jack’s sixth ego, and his birthday is on April 11th!
Robbie the Zombie
Then there’s Robbie the Zombie! He’s not technically an official ego, but the fans love him so much that he might as well be! He came from a thumbnail Jack made for a zombie game called PUBG that he played with Mark, Bob, and Wade, and the thumbnail is where Robbie’s appearance came from!
At first he was called Zombie Jack or Zombiesepticeye, but then he gained the name Robbie shortly after, which is a small nod to the musician Rob Zombie! He doesn’t have a canon personality, but the fandom likes to depict him as being a sweet soft boy with the mindset of a child who’s doing his best. Common theories as to how he came to be is that Marvin either used black magic to bring him back from the dead (aka my headcanon), or that he’s one of Dr. Schneeplestein’s failed experiments! He’s the seventh ego created, and his birthday is on August 15th, since that was the date the PUBG video was released!
Shawn Flynn
Next we have Shawn Flynn! He’s a character from Chapter 3 of BATIM, but since Jack voices him, some ppl (like myself) consider him a ego! He creates the plush toys for the show, and he’s very salty and sarcastic and very snappy, but actually really sweet once you get to know him! He’s a lone wolf who doesn’t like letting ppl get close to him (except Jameson, but that’s just me and I’ll explain Jameson later), but he will if he trusts you enough! He doesn’t understand modern tech at all, but he’s slowly learning! He’s the eighth ego, and his birthday is on October 5th, since that was the day Jack released the video for his playthrough of Chapter 3!
Jameson Jackson
Finally, there’s Jameson Jackson, Jack’s ninth and youngest ego! He first appeared in “The Jacksepticeye Power Hour - Jameson Jackson”, formerly called “Jacksepticeye: The Silent Movie” and “Good Ole Fashion Pumpkin Carve!”, and he’s based off of old Charlie Chaplin movies! Since those are silent films, Jameson doesn’t talk save for some speech cards that show up after he talks like in old silent films, so he’s canonically mute! People depict him using sign language (which is what I do), or that he has a bit of magic and makes those old speech cards pop around him when he wants to “talk”! He’s depicted as a very sweet boy who’s clumsy and hates mess and clutter, and he twitches his mustache when he’s thinking really hard! He talks all old-timey, too! He was called Dappersepticeye or Dapper Jack before Jack named him Jameson Jackson! His birthday is on October 31st!
Let us just remember this moment from SepticArt #2:
Tumblr media
"You're worried, you're scared, you don't know what's gonna happen, and then suddenly– Jackieboy Man, here to save the day! I know I'd be happy. I know I'd be delighted that he showed up to save my day."
For those of you missing your favorite hero… be careful what you wish for.
Not only would his arrival imply that Jack is in danger– again– but if we learned anything from Schneeplestein, it's that Jack wouldn't be the only one.
And that "you're worried, you're scared, you don't know what's gonna happen"?
If those are the signals Jackie responds to, we're already calling for him. The panic over these recent videos and thumbnails is proof enough of that.
I just hope that Jackie is smarter than to fall for Anti's tricks… because I have a feeling this is a trap, and there is a hell of a lot of bait to lure him into this mess.
Anti might have just tricked us into doing all the hard work for him.
Note
I know they all have a terrible past and Anti did horrible things, but it must be kinda upsetting that they did all that mess to protect an ego that they don't even know for that long, doesn't even speak, and no one but Schneep even tried to talk to Anti, just bitterly refused to give him a chance whatsoever
“Let. my. brother. go,” Google says, glaring at Jackieboy. The hero backs off Red who is just barely containing himself at this point. Then Google’s head snaps around to Chase. “You’re supposed to be the least asinine one. Why are you waving a gun around?”
Chase blushes bright red and puts the weapon away. “We thought…”
“Exactly,” Google spits, “you thought. Don’t think, Brody, it doesn’t suit you, and certainly don’t act so brashly on your idiotic assumptions.”
Marvin pushes his cat mask away from his face. “We were scared that Anti was gunna hurt JJ.”
Jameson looks like he’s still in shock from seeing what his brothers so quickly resorted to. Then he shakes his head in disappointment and taps his chest, I wanted to come here.
“Well, he didn’t. In fact, you’ve done much more damage here than Anti has. He didn’t even know that I was bringing Jameson here to speak to him. It was a mistake on my part; I see that now. The bunch of you can’t blink without assuming Anti is up to no good.” Google shoves Jamie forward. “Well here, take him, and don’t come back.”
Schneep bites his lip. “Google, ve ah sorry, but it’s not like ve do not have reason…”
“No, you had reason. You’ve seen the way Anti has changed, and yet you still treat him like a monster. I’m not saying he’s perfect. I’m not suggesting you dance around a maypole with flowers in your hair.” Google’s eyes flash blue as he comes chest to chest with Chase. “But I do suggest that if you ever step foot in this building again, you will treat my brother with the respect he has earned. And if you threaten any of my brothers again, I have no problem with exterminating all of you. Do I make myself perfectly clear?”
Chase sets his jaw. “Crystal.” His eyes flick past Google to Jameson. “Coming?”
Jamie, eyes full of tears, looks from Google to Chase and nods dejectedly. The Septics, never once turning their backs on the Googles, gather up and teleport out with a puff of blue smoke, leaving the office in an uncomfortable silence.
Anti glitches beside Google and, without looking up at him, says, “Thanks fer that.”
Daycare AU: Robbie
(Eeeeyyy lookie another Daycare AU fic. This one is from the zombabe's pov. Anti just wants a friend): Robbie enjoys a few things. And he doesn't enjoy another few things. The few things he enjoys include but are kind of limited to: the sound of crayons on paper, everything about his best friend Marvin, and Schneeplestein’s funny accent. The few things he doesn't enjoy includes but isn't limited to: his hands falling off constantly, not seeing like everyone else, and Jack not letting him eat proper food. He can get quite hungry, but Jack only will let him eat… chicken. He doesn't like chicken, raw or cooked. He doesn't mind being in this “daycare room” all day as long as he has Marvin or Schneeple nearby. They always help him walk around and give him crayons and things to draw on. Marvin always holds his hand when he can't see and Schneeple helps put his limbs back on if they fall off. He also does like Jackieboy and Chase sometimes. Jackieboy is fun to chase while playing “cops and robbers”(when he's actually not a robber) and Chase is a fun person to hang out with. Chase lets him shoot with his gun even though he can't see and they run from Jack when he gets mad at them for having a nerf gun in the first place. Currently Robbie is sitting at one of the tables outside with an open book and is scribbling all across its pages. Jack is beside him, watching all of the kids and Wiishu is playing with them. Robbie doesn't normally play outside unless it's some sort of chase game but they're playing a kind of sport… something with kicking a ball. He doesn't know. “What are you drawing, Rob?” Jack asks the zombie child sitting beside who shrugs in response. “Don’.... know?” He said with a shrug and turns the book towards Jack. “You.. tell? I can’t… see..” Jack hums and picks up the book from the table to observe it more closely. Robbie keeps an eye on him, not wanting the Irishman to hurt his favorite book. “Hhmmm,” Jack hums and sets the book back down. Robbie takes t and resumes drawing. “It actually looks kinda like a cat to me.” “I… draw… cat!” Robbie exclaimed happily and curves his hand to try and capture the look of cat. Even though he can't see if he should have done that or not. He could have just messed up the entire picture for all he knows. Jack chuckles and Robbie continue to draw until suddenly Jackieboy comes running over and slaps the child zombie. “Tag! You're it!” He shouts and runs off, laughing loudly. Robbie pushes from the table sloppily and nearly falls face first on the ground. His hands and feet brush against the dirt covered earth as he launches himself forward at Jackieboy, letting out a loud roar of excitement. He maybe a zombie child, but he can move surprisingly quickly when he so chooses to. Jackieboy leads him to the rest of the playground and now he can smell the rest of the kids including Anti and he kind of wants to go after the demon child. Though, he does end up going after the closest one. This being Chase. He chases after Chase(no pun intended) and catches up with the other kid quickly, basically tackling him to the ground. The impact causes one of his entire arms to pop out of socket but he's too invested in the game now and continues running forward after getting back to his feet, doing his best to not trip on anything. Because it is currently so cold, everything’s colors are all dull and dark and hard to tell apart. Though, he can't feel the cold, he can smell it for sure. “Hey! You lost your arm!” Chase called after him but he doesn't care because he's already on the other side of the playground and turning the corner around the building to hide. He's played this game enough to know what you're supposed to do. Run and hide when you're not “it”, and chase and catch when you are “it”. When he fully turns the corner he trips over a small and dull red lump which had blended in with the rest of the ground. He goes toppling back down with someone underneath him, breaking his fall and also letting out a noise of frustration. “What the-!” The owner of the voice cuts himself off before he can say anything he’ll regret. Robbie connects the dots of this being Anti. The demon child always does enjoy either hiding further away from the others, or picking on them. It must be a day where he wants to be alone. Though, Robbie notices how cold he is and knows it's not healthy. “Oh, Robbie… what are you doing?” He doesn't sound as aggressive as he normally does with the other kids, ether. This is partly helped by the fact that he doesn't mind Robbie’s presence as much, actually. Probably because he's a zombie that doesn't catch as much as the others think. But he does catch stuff. A lot of stuff. But hey, the demon gives him crayons(as long as he swears not to tell anyone) and that's cool with the zombie. “I…. hidin’!” He replied, pointing to the corner he'd just come from even though he's still later out face first on the ground. He can never really pick himself up unless, well, he was running like he had been earlier. “Chassse… isss it!” Anti scoffs and helps Robbie sit up, which the zombie is grateful for. “You're playing that stupid game again, huh?” He asked and Robbie shrugs in answer. “Why don't you… why don't you hang out with me more?” “Caussse… you never… want to!” Robbie replied softly and this fact has actually bothered him for quite some time now. Anti sighs heavily next to him and they both sit awkwardly beside one another. Just because they're both okay with the other’s presence, doesn't mean they actually know how to handle themselves. “You… yell at me… if I ever get… near you!” “Yeah cause you're always with the magician idiot,” Anti pointed out grumpily, pulling his knees close to his chest. Robbie frowns because he doesn't like the way Anti calls Marvin an idiot. “Marvin…. isssss…. my… bessst friend! He… issssnt… idiot!” Robbie growled out, quickly losing his “dumbness”. He’ll be passive for an extent. For a long extent. That is, until someone insults something he enjoys. “He… isssss way better… friend than you… too!” Anti falls silent and Robbie can smell the sadness on him and okay maybe he feels a little guilty for saying that but Anti is always saying mean things about everyone else but never apologizing so why should he? “Yeah… I stink as a friend…” Anti said finally in agreement. “Yeah,” Robbie said with a nod. “You're not supposed to agree!” Anti shouted, obviously offended. “Eh, I don't know why I try with you-” “You… don't… really?” Robbie said in question, tilting his head to the side. Anti pushes to his feet, clearly outraged in his movements. “I try with everyone!” He exclaimed and is pulling at his hair. “But- but no one ever gives me a chance! They always yell at me and tell me to go away before I can talk! Before I can offer them to play! An- and it m-makes me-” his voice cuts off in a small sob and Robbie’s eyes widen at the sound. He never believed that he'd hear Anti on the verge of tears. The demon child wipes at his nose in frustration with his shirt sleeve, sniffling in a breath. “Isn't like you… care though,” Anti said, voice merely shaking now. “You've- you've got Marvin and- and Schneeple and- and-” But Anti is cut off when Robbie has somehow stood up on his own, wrapping his remaining arm around the demon child’s shoulders. Anti falls silent before his body begins to shake and he slowly and hesitantly returns the hug, crying softly. They stand like this for a few minutes before Anti finally pulls back, once more wiping at his face with his shirt sleeve. His eyes harden a little and he crosses his arms over his chest. “Yeah okay I want friends,” Anti finally said and his voice isn't shaking anymore. He jabs a finger into Robbie’s chest, “But you better not tell anyone or I'll break all of your crayons!” “I…. I can… be your friend… unlesss you… break my… crayonsss…” Robbie pointed out in a mutter, back slouching slightly because he's so tired from all of the physical and emotional activity he's had today. He normally only receives physical because most people don't go to a zombie child for emotional support. This might have happened because Anti and Robbie are sort of kindred spirits- both normally feared creatures stuck in the forms of human children. “R- really?” Anti asked and he sounds so shocked, so confused. At Robbie’s nod a large grin splits across his face. “O-okay. What do friends normally do together?” Robbie shrugs and then Anti is grabbing his hand. “Okay! Maybe we could figure out what to do for both of us?” He said questioningly, as if checking if that's the correct thing to say. Robbie nods and the demon child lets out a noise of excitement before growing serious once more: “Just don't tell anyone. I kinda want them to still be scared of me?” And with that the two go running off to do something with one another. A demon and zombie child. What could possibly go wrong? ____ I love my babe @robthezombie-support-squad @i-am-a-fan Zombie baby boy! @sweetapple01 I took your advice lmao
JSE Fanfiction - All That Matters
Summary: How far will Jackieboy go to protect one of his own? Would he take a life for a life?
When it came down to it, Jackieboy had three rules he would teach any citizen if he had the chance. First: Don’t be a victim. Second: Don’t be a perpetrator. Third: Don’t be a bystander.
Today, the first and the third were essentially forfeit—and the second? He was dangerously close.
The group of robbers holding the restaurant hostage honestly had no idea who they were threatening. He had gone out in plainclothes today; Chase had insisted on it.
“We should get a chance to eat in peace before somebody recognizes you and tackles you for an autograph,” he pointed out, only half-teasing, and Jackieboy had relented. Chase deserved that much for all of his hard work lately. He was getting a better sum than usual; ever since his suicide attempt, it seemed as if he had been working from the ground up to regain his followers’ trust and support. After months, it was finally paying off. Chase had come to him today with a smile of all things and he’d asked if he could treat him to brunch.
“Marvin’s getting ready for his next show and Schneep’s taking the midmorning shift at the hospital…It’s rare that we get a chance to hang out just the two of us.”
Jackie couldn’t have argued with that either, but his casual gray hoodie and torn blue jeans did nothing to disguise his naturally heightened sense for danger. As soon as he noticed the trio of shifty men slink into the restaurant with a suspiciously large duffel bag in tow, he’d straightened, gripping his fork with more force. He wasn’t in his vibrant jumpsuit and mask, he’d reminded himself. He didn’t have the authority to confront them like this.
How could he have let that be an excuse? His duties as a hero didn’t stop with his attire! As soon as he saw the outline of the gun tucked neatly into the band of the shortest one’s pants, he flagged down the manager, but the minute it had taken was a minute too long. The next thing he knew, one of the men was barring the doors, swinging a shotgun out in front of him as the others hollered over the panicked patrons, ordering them to gather on the other side of the room.
Chase was one of a few that went too slow, letting out a sharp, stuttered cry that tore at Jackie’s chest as the tallest gunman dragged him back by a fistful of his mussed green hair. Even as he spat curses and thrashed and strained, flailing his limbs in a desperate attempt to fight back, the enemy had him in a stranglehold in seconds—and as soon as the gun was pressed against his temple, he went dead silent. Jackieboy’s heart skipped a few solid beats at how sudden the shutdown was, as if he was a lamp that had its cord ripped out of the wall.
Don’t be a perpetrator.
Translation: Don’t fight out of rage or spite. Don’t try to take revenge. Don’t fight with the one motivation of pounding your enemies into the ground.
In this case, Jackieboy knew he had the right to. He knew it would be all too easy, but for now he held still, acting like just another member of the alarmed crowd, keeping his lifted hands steady and watching the gunman’s every move, his jaw working tightly as he risked a glance at Chase. The raw emotion in the younger Ego’s eyes made his stomach twist like taffy.
“Stay calm,” Jackieboy mouthed slowly, firmly, hoping that his own eyes didn’t reveal the fear pounding in his gut. Perhaps they did, as Chase promptly began trembling—the opposite of what he wanted. “Stay calm, stay calm—”
Clutching at the thick, hairy, unyielding arm of the robber drawn across his neck, Chase shook his head just a fraction, whispering soundlessly. “Help me…” Jackieboy had never imagined two simple words could break his heart more.
“It’s going to be okay,” was all he could think to say. As he registered the message, Chase swallowed hard, shaking his head a little, and the gunman noticed.
“You tryin’ to say something to him, kid?” he growled, retightening his hold on Chase’s throat by pulling his arm in and up, until the toes of the vlogger’s boots were scuffing against the floor for the lack of air.
“Stop! Stop,” Jackie burst out, drawing sharp breaths from the other hostages and a sneer from his enemy.
“You want me to stop, you set yourself down on the ground and look pretty next to the others! You’re not gonna slip anything past me, so you better just stay still and quiet or I’m gonna make your little pal a redhead,” he warned, prodding the barrel of his gun further into Chase’s hair.
All color draining from his face, Chase went limp in his hands, his eyes rolling back and fluttering closed as he visibly tried not to shudder from the familiar sensation, and it took everything Jackie had in him not to lunge and tear off the gunman’s arm for making Chase ever feel that cold, unforgiving metal on his skin again. As he slowly sank down next to the other quivering hostages, the undercover hero’s mind was awash with a thousand thoughts at once.
My identity—
If I act here, everyone will see—They’ll know—
Try to make it into the kitchen to change—
Who knows who’s back there to see me? Could be more accomplices—
Chase. Chase, Chase, Chase—All that matters is Chase—Gotta save Chase—
Time slowed without warning and all at once, Jackieboy was keenly, infinitely aware of everything around him. He could hear the heavy beat of his own heart against his ribcage, the shaky breaths of the hostages just beside him, the garbled cries of panic from the manager and the shuffling of bills as one of the other robbers forced him to withdraw the money…
Yet all that mattered was Chase.
He wasn’t about to stand by and let this happen.
The fire in his blood awoke with a roar in his ears, giving him a burst of adrenaline that his body could never supply naturally. Within a second he had thrown himself across the dirty linoleum and into the air, his fist narrowly grazing the top of Chase’s head as it cracked the gunman’s jaw.
The gun jolted with the impact and went off but Jackieboy ignored it; he was single-minded, already skirting past the fallen gunman and targeting the second one at the doors. He panicked, reacting too late to lift his shotgun before the hero had seized the barrel and wrenched it out of his grasp. His free hand smashed the shotgunner’s head back into the door pane, leaving a web of cracks in the glass from the force.
Two down, one left—the one with the manager. Hefting the shotgun up into his hands, he turned and trained it on the last man, who froze as the manager escaped through the kitchen doors a few feet away.
“You should probably drop the gun and the duffel bag,” Jackieboy warned, grim and cold.
Don’t be a perpetrator. This rule was constantly in his mind, but apparently it had decided to take a leave of absence from his memory. Even as he registered the disbelief, the panic, the helplessness in the robber’s eyes, there was no trace of sympathy or mercy in Jackieboy’s.
The hostages on the other side of the room murmured apprehensively as they looked on; Jackie could sense their tension even from this distance. He did his best not to let it distract him and instead focused on the robber’s train of thought. It was predictable: Where did it all go so wrong? How can I get out of it? I can’t go back to prison! Should I explain why I’m doing this? Should I risk lifting my gun? Should I run? Should I beg?
Jackieboy decided to make it easier on him, cocking the shotgun with a heavy, decisive clank. “Drop them or…what was it your friend there said? I make you a redhead?”
“Jackie…” Chase’s breathed word caught his attention, but it wasn’t needed; the last gunman was muttering nervous surrender, tossing the gun into the duffel and throwing it aside. Clenching his teeth, Jackie did the same with the shotgun, crossing the distance in three strides and snatching his new captive by the back of the neck, steering him toward the door.
It wasn’t long before the police arrived to take the criminals off Jackie’s hands and aside from a few odd looks, none of them seemed to question who he may or may not be. The other hostages, to Jackie’s surprise, didn’t breathe a word about his inhuman speed in taking out the perpetrators. They simply said that everything had happened so fast.
Chase, however, didn’t seem as relieved as Jackie would have expected. Instead he stood in the corner of the restaurant, staring at the bullet hole in the wall. Jackie moved up behind him, following his gaze and exhaling bitterly.
“That bullet was meant for you…” he growled, to which Chase nodded numbly and glanced up at him.
“Jackie—” He hesitated, measuring his words for a few moments before seeking his courage to venture softly, “You wouldn’t have shot him, would you?”
“Of course not,” Jackie retorted—perhaps a beat too quickly, if Chase’s expression was any indication. The vlogger shifted away so he could face him more easily, his brows furrowing in concern.
“Jackie,” he repeated, slow and incredulous, “would you have shot him?”
The older Ego blinked, let his shoulders slump and jammed his hands in his pockets, accepting the other’s judgmental stare as he took a moment to actually mull it over.
“…I don’t know,” he allowed at last, cautiously. That was the honest truth. To protect Chase, to protect any of them, who knew what lengths he would go to? He was confident without the shadow of a doubt that he would die for them. No hesitation necessary on that point—but to kill someone else for them?
Maybe.
“Well, don’t. Don’t go anywhere near there, Jackie,” Chase broke through his thoughts, his voice low and terse as he retrained narrowed eyes on the bullet hole. “I’ve shot someone before. We both know it didn’t exactly turn out like I hoped it would.”
Jackieboy wasn’t so quick to answer that time.
