Sometimes I randomly think about how the Disney Channel went hard and created an original horror movie about how imaginary friends turn into "Boogeymen" when children abandon them.

Is tonight the night I finally check out this movie that, even though I never watched it as a child, still gave me an ounce of trauma whenever I saw a commercial of it?
I think it's time.

girls will literally forget their imaginary friend, let her turn into a boogie man, force their younger brother to grow up too quickly putting him down the same path, and let the whole town be terrorized by fantastical pranks that get blamed by them instead of going to therapy

Kenneth Johnson directed 1999's Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century and was soon asked to direct Don't Look Under The Bed that would premiere later that year.
He sat down with Entertainment Weekly and talked about the DCOM's PG rating, making the boogeyman more light, casting Frances and Larry, and why the ending was almost changed.

(Don't Look Under The Bed) is a seriously underrated horror movie.
I would say definitely scarier than one would expect from disney. It has been one of my favorite movies for a while. There is no blood, there is no gore, and the producers did a great job making it scary. Scariest disney original horror movie. /my opinion/
