It’s your first day at mit. You had on some baggy jeans, a gray sweatshirt and some green converse. You got lost a couple times trying to find your dorm. While lost you came across one of the finest girls you’ve ever seen. Her hair was in a slick back bun, and she had on a black hoodie, black sweatpants and red Jordan ones. You glanced at her for what felt like forever. Her eyes were so gorgeous, even in the faded out school lights her brown irises sparkled. Her skin was literally glistening and looked flawless. Your eyes trailed down her body and you noticed the prettiest red dragonfly tattoo on the side of her neck that was slightly covered up by her hoodie. She started to turn her head slightly as if she could feel you staring at her, only to be interrupted when a girl with curly brown hair covered in tats came up to her.
“hey Riri, where you been at my love” she said as they moved to embrace each other in a kiss.
You figured that was her Girlfriend. You didn’t really care much though, Truthfully you felt bad for disregarding her relationship the way you did, But you didn’t know her Girlfriend and you don’t owe her anything.
After wandering around campus a bit more you had ran into your roommate and best friend Maya.
“Hey y/n you look like a lost puppy, i was exactly the same way on my first day” she giggled.
“Girl you gon help me or not” you rolled your eyes as she helped you carry your stuff to your dorm.
You were finally in your dorm and all settled in, laying on maya’s bed and catching up with her. you couldn’t wait to tell your bestie about the beautiful girl you saw while wondering the halls.
“Maya i gotta tell you something” you started. “So i saw this girl, one of the most beautiful girls I’ve ever seen, like she was fine fine, i think her name was Riri or something”. You blushed while saying.
“RIRI?” Maya jumped up immediately “Girl all ima say is her lil butt is mean, and she got a gf so tread lightly”. Your best friend warned you.
“Girl please, i don’t owe her Girlfriend anything, and whats wrong with a little rudeness?” You laughed at your best friends warnings thinking she was being over dramatic.
After a while of non stop giggles and deep conversations with maya you had lost track of time. You immediately jumped up and headed out the door not wanting to be late for class, and told maya you would talk to her later. While walking down the hall and heading to your class you unintentionally looked for riri in every hall you went in, eyes scanning everyone you came across. She was beyond gorgeous and was the only thing you could think about, so you couldn’t help the fact that you looked for her at every twist and turn you came to while walking the halls.
You had eventually given up on finding Riri, after not “accidentally” running into her like you had planned to, and made getting to class your main priority. But Some how some way as you turned down the last hall leading to your class, there Riri was walking right in-front of you. You leaned in about to tap her on the shoulder, but in the same instance Riri’s pace slowed down just enough for your shoe to smash into hers, you froze knowing that you had probably just scuffed her shoe.
“WHAT THE FUCK??” Riri shouted.
You could tell just by those 3 words that she was easily irritated. Her eyes had changed from the beautiful sparkle that you saw earlier that day to a glare of disgust.
“My bad omg i didn’t mean to” it was barely an apology. But it was the only thing you could Muster up, and it definitely wasn’t gonna change the fact that she was pissed.
“Yeah your bad nigga, the fuck am i supposed to do with that half ass apology” Riri still half way shouting as she walked off.
At first you felt bad, but now you couldn’t decide whether or not you wanted to catch up with her and knock her head off her shoulders for talking to you like that. You knew she had every right to be mad but the way she spat her words out at you made you angry, rightfully so. Now continuing to walk to class all you could think about was how much of a shitty first impression you made. And now Riri probably hated you.
you finally made it to class, you thought at least you could distract yourself with your work and not have to think about how badly you just embarrassed yourself. But just your luck you had this class with Riri, and as soon as you walked in she was shooting you the nastiest look. The only open seat was in-front of her. You hesitantly sat down, you swore you could feel her drilling lasers through the back of your head. Thank god before she could say Anything belittling to you your professor started going over the lesson plan.
“Ok guys today were gonna be working with our neighbors to-“
You immediately tuned your professor out after he said something about partners. You didn’t even want to imagine having to work with Riri after the terrible run in you just had with her.
After some time you had tuned your professor back in, but by then everyone had already been paired up with someone else. Except you and Riri, you practically had to work with her. So you turned around apprehensively, waiting to see how this would go. She spoke first
“So you gon pay for scuffing my shit or not?” Riri scoffed out.
Initially you were gonna be nice, but you weren’t gonna take blatant disrespect from anyone. Not even Riri
“Them bitches probably not even real anyways” you scoffed out right back at her.
“I don’t know who you are ma, but you definitely gotta be new here because i don’t wear fake J’s” riri snicked.
“ I am new here and my name is y/n, ma” you threw the nickname she used for you right back at her.
“Well y/n you needa watch where your clumsy ass is going, scuffing up my new J’s and shit” Riri retorted.
“Well if it means anything it wasn’t on purpose, and they still look good to me” you said trying your best not to sound condescending.
Abruptly the bell rang. Riri got up to leave basically paying you no mind, but before she left she said
“Good thing i didn’t ask you, i like your converse though” riri said with what looked like a bit of a smirk.
Maybe you were just imagining things. But her barely visible smirk gave you a glint of hope, Now you Wanted to at least befriend Riri. She acted like a dick head but you had a feeling she wasn’t and her rudeness was just an act. She kinda reminded you of yourself in a way. So you decided you were gonna get back on Riris good side one way or another.

it's been a while since you and letitia last talked, not because of anything real serious, you were both just.. very busy.
and by that, i mean you saw that video of kehlani throwing her ass all up on letitia, and that shit aint sit right with you.
you and letitia weren't public yet, but you couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy because of it. you didn't like that tish was all over someone who wasn't you.
so, you took matters into your own hands... literally.
tish decided to download tiktok and make an account after seeing all the publicity and love she was getting after the new black panther movie, she was incredibly flattered, and the comments on videos were funny to her.
tiktok got a lot less funny when all she saw on her page were people talking about a video of (y/n) and dominque.
tish started to look into that alleged 'video' and felt her blood ran cold.
it was a video of you and dominique dancing all over each other, her hands all over you. and for some reason, it drove tish insane.
she wouldn't say shes a very jealous person, but she became different when it came to you. she didnt want anyone to have you the way she had you.
she was going crazy. she felt sick to her stomach thinking about you all over a woman. in less than a second her keys were in her hand and she was on her way to your house.
you had just gotten out of the shower, drying your curls as you were dressed in a cropped tee and sweat pants, you heard aggressive knocks at your door.
you checked the time, it was only a little after 8... who the fuck would be knocking on your door like that this early..?
you opened the door, ready to cuss the fuck outta who was on the other side of that door, opening it to see tish.
it was a nice sight to see, though she was in sweats in a random black tee, she was still so sexy to you, no matter what.
she moves her way inside before even saying a word to you, you could tell something was up.
"hey what's up witchu?" you ask, closing the door and walking up to her?

you look her up and down before muttering

she looks confused at your response, as if she hasn't done anything. not giving her a chance to speak, you put your finger up.
"so you can be all up on kehlani, but i dance with dominique and you got issues? it wasn't no issue was kehlani was rubbing ha ass all over you." you raise your voice a little, getting very clearly heated as you've been holding that down for a while.
tish is silent, she smirks as she looks at you, walking up to you a lil bit.
she puts her hands on your waist and looks at you dead in your eyes. "you was upset about that? i'm sorry mami, you know me and kehlani just friends, i would never let that come between us." she sighs, getting serious for a second.
you know you should probably be upset, but when you look at her it's like it all goes away, shes your safe space.
you grab her forearms and rub them, smiling at her. "yeah i know.. im sorry for doing the most about it, i know you wouldn't do nothing like that to me." you shrug.
she removes a hand from your waist to tilt your chin up to look at you in your eyes.
"i forgive you ma, but you better not ever give my shit away like that."

We were spending Christmas at my mother's house, and right now I had Shuri and Riri in the bathroom, trying on ugly Christmas sweaters that my mother had "made."
"Sthandwa, Is this some sort of joke?" Shuri asked. I tried to hold back my laughter, but it wasn't working because tears were streaming down my cheeks. But I quickly wiped my cheeks, trying to maintain my cool.
"Why would I make a joke about something like that? Mama worked really hard on those sweaters! You don't think they're pretty?" I asked her.
"They pretty ugly!" Riri yelled. causing me to chuckle and playfully gasp. "I'm going to tell her you said that, too."
I heard a smacking noise, which caused Riri to yelp and yell at Shuri.
"WHAT! YOU WERE THINKING IT?"
"Enough already. Come out now; my mother is in the driveway." They walked out of the bathroom, and I covered my mouth with my hand, trying not to laugh.
But the expressions on their faces made me burst out laughing. "Y/N, you are very funny. Now what happened to yours?" Shuri asked me, with a bored expression, and her arms are crossed.
But I couldn't respond because I was hysterically laughing. But I quickly stood up when I heard my mother enter the house. She entered the living room, stopped and looked at Shuri and Riri, but continued to walk over to hug me.
"Hello, my baby. How you been?" She asked. I returned her hug and kissed her on the cheek. She stifled a laugh as she turned to face Shuri and Riri. "What the hell y'all got on?" She said, laughing making her way to the kitchen.
"This shit is going on the fridge," I said as I took a picture of them, making myself laugh even harder. Riri was threatening to kick my ass. I was clutching my stomach, from laughing so hard. While Shuri just smirked at me, as if she was planning on getting my ass later.

"STOP EATING THE JOLLY RANCHERS FROM MY ROOF!" I yelled at Riri. She playfully rolled her eyes at me and continued to decorate the side of her house with frosting. Riri and I were having a gingerbread decorating contest, while my mother, sister, and Shuri were baking sugar cookies.
When "Give Love" by the Jackson 5 came on, I instantly smiled and hummed along to the lyrics. I loved Christmas; it was my favorite time of year, but I was especially happy because it was spent with my two favorite people, along with my family.
People making lists, buying special gifts

I watched Riri place pretzels along her house's walkway, occasionally popping one in her mouth.
"Damn! Can you please finish your house instead of eating the decorations? That's why you are losing." I said, shaking my head. She flipped me off tossing some skittles into her mouth. I shook my head and watched Shuri bring over a hot plate of cookies.
"Those look good, boo. You did a good job." I kissed her on the cheek. She smiled, grabbing my waist and softly kissing me. "AYE! What about me? Where is my good job kiss?" Riri asked Shuri and me.
I raised my eyebrow and crossed my arms. "If you had finished the job you were supposed to do, you'd get a good job kiss! You ate half yo house! Your gingerbread man gon be homeless!" I said. This made both Shuri and me laugh.
She pouted and smacked her teeth. Shuri approached her and kissed her lips, causing her to smile. I walked towards her, and she extended her hand to stop me. "uh-uh, you wanna be funny and shit. You not finna kiss me" She said, giving me the stank face.
I smacked my teeth and grabbed her by her pants, bringing her closer to me and kissed her lips. "Stop, being so bratty and dance with me. This my favorite part."

Sunday Confessions:
1. Paul Rudd looks his age to me lol ik ppl hype him up saying he looks "ageless" bt he looks his age (54) n theres nothing wrong with that (ik some ppl hasve issues with aging.. lik its nt a priveledge to age n grow older). He prob has good genetics, a good skincare routine that includes sunscreen, balanced diet and has little to no cosmetic surgery which can age you very drastically.
2. On the contrast Kylie Jenner looks A LOT older for her age (almost double her age if im honest), n honestly it looks lik her face is frozen in some instances. All the plastic surgery she got from such a young age is disturbing, i hope the overload of wanting various surgeries from that family dnt trickle down to all their (biracial) daughters bt honestly its probaby inevitable.
3. Good that Jacob/Austin/Cailee etc got recognition from Elvis/Priscilla movies bt i cant get beind the resurgence of Elvis, a whole MAN who was attracted to an underage GIRL, its disturbing. Again, this has nothing to do with the actors cuz thats their job bt just the hype for Elvis as a person (beyond somebody being a fan of his music) isnt for me, n something ill never get.
4. I want more dark/brown skinned it gurls who are in their 20s. Thought it b letitia wright bt that anti-vaxx/anti-lgbtqa thing didnt help. Thoight it b dominque thorne but her show hasnt come out (when i thought it would by now?). The closest who i can think of is keke, whose great bt i want MORE black young women, lupita, whose gorgeous/talented bt older, and Kiki Layne, who i last saw in about 5 minutes in Dont Worry Darling 😔 literally WHERE are the dark/brown skinned young women in hollywood, its tiring

Even though he didn't marry her until she was of age, it will never not be weird because he knew her when she was 14. 😵💫

I totally 100% agree with this Anon. 🙏🏾 I've been wanting to see more darker-skinned black women representation in the 20s age range in blockbuster Hollywood films for AGES. 😩 I feel like we're only really recognized when we're late 30s or early 40s and beyond. Or, when we're too young to play someone's love interest. But darker black women in their 20s onscreen? It's just so rare these days..... 😔 They make it seem like we don't even exist.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Review
I miss Chadwick Boseman.
Chadwick Boseman will always be The Black Panther, T'Challa. When news broke that the actor passed from colon cancer in 2020, it was heart-wrenching. Beyond portraying an iconic superhero, the world lost a genuine, kind soul. One that inspired children to want to be like him. One who donated thousands of dollars to programs like the Boys and Girls Club. His passing was tragic, and there will never be another like him.
As news broke of a Black Panther sequel in the works, everybody wondered, "How do you do a Black Panther sequel without Black Panther?"
Well, there was an attempt. And it was great.
After the death of King T'Challa, Queen Ramonda, Shuri, Okoye, and the Dora Milaje work together to protect their nation from other world powers looking to intervene. The Wakandans are skeptical of the other countries that aren't Wakanda. Tensions and emotions are high after the passing of T'challa. And as the Wakandans are so focused on the humans, a new force presents itself as an enemy to Wakanda: the Talokans.
There's so much in this film that works. Acting-wise, everybody performs amazingly. Letitia Wright, as Shuri, has grown up since the last Black Panther film and has no choice but to grow up and take a role she thought unfathomable. The loss of her brother affected her deeply, shaking her foundation to its core. She found faith in science over tradition for a considerable amount of time. Danai Gurira, as Okoye, grieves in her way and provides excellent chemistry with Shuri and other cast members. But Angela Basset as Queen Ramonda? Her presentation is immaculate. When Ramonda presents herself to her subjects or enemies, she's a majestic beacon of royalty. She's that bitch. But when she's alone with Shuri, she takes off the headwear and appears more vulnerable with her daughter. Basset tightropes between both displays effortlessly. In one of the trailers for Wakanda Forever, there's a snippet that shows Ramonda as she says, "I am the queen of the most powerful nation in the world, and my entire family is gone. Have I not given everything?" The delivery of that line is perfect. That scene is enough proof that Angela Basset deserves an award for her role.
And as far as antagonists go, Tenoch Huerta makes for a fantastic Namor. In the comics, Namor and his people appear Atlantean with Anglo-Euro origins. Injecting Latin flavor into the character and his civilization was an intriguing choice that I loved seeing as a person of Hispanic heritage. Namor is a top-tier foil to Shuri and the others. His motives are understandable, and the character is menacing. He's not even a villain. I emphasize that he's more of an antagonist. The fight scenes between the Wakandans and the Talokans are energetic and make for a fascinating watch. A particular favorite of mine involves a Talokan and Okoye on a bridge.
Unfortunately, there are some gripes I harbor with the film. Dominque Thorne plays Riri Williams and makes a fine debut. Her scenes with the Wakandans are a bit lacking. Her character reminds me of Shuri in the first Black Panther. I would've liked something more substantial with her, but I feel that may come in her upcoming show "Ironheart." I look forward to getting more of a taste of her there. Also, lacking screen time were the other Talokans. Namor remains stellar, but his subordinates Namora and Attuma are less memorable as characters. Attuma has a solid fight scene in the movie, but I can't tell you much of anything about either of the character's motives or personality or otherwise. M'Baku is not in the film as much as he should be. And finally, Martin Freeman and Julia-Loius Dreyfus appear in scenes mostly distant from Wakandan's direct conflict, and they're the least interesting parts of the movie. I like Freeman and Dreyfus immensely and in the other Marvel projects they have appeared in, but whenever they were on screen, I found myself wanting to see what Shuri or Namor was doing. Honestly, the scenes with them should have been replaced with more scenes dedicated to building up Namor, Attuma, and Namora's characters.
So there are a couple of choices they could have made to improve the film but don't get me wrong, it's still great. The acting, action, and heart drive the movie to immense highs. It's my favorite superhero movie I watched this year, and in the top ten films, I saw this year. 4/5.
The movie deserves so much praise, even to the end. Without spoiling, there's only one credit scene in the film, and it's the best post-credits scene any Marvel movie has had. It's not an exciting, thrilling romp that reveals a game changer of a character, like "The Avengers" teasing Thanos. Nor is it something comedic or goofy like the ant playing drums in the end credits scene of "Ant-Man and the Wasp." What makes it the best is that it's a beautiful reveal. It's one more tug at the heartstrings that's sure to leave audiences teary-eyed.
A beautiful ode to the wonderful man that was Chadwick Boseman.
