I am absolutely in love with the Ghost of Darkmount au. It's both so funny and intresting.
So, my thoughts are, what would the autobots's reaction be after they found out the truth? You know, Ratchet obviously finds out first, but it can't be far behind before the rest does too. What are their thoughts, emotions, on the whole thing? Will they be angry at Smokescreen? Will they understand the reason he did it all?
And Smokey himself! I imagine wearing the phase shifter could have some serious side effects, especially now that it's damaged. Imagine him forgetting he's not a 'ghost' anymore and walking into walls or other solid objects constantly lmao
well >:3
Ratchet is absolutely floored by this, but admittedly doesn't have much time to process it in the rush of Hey The Final Battle Is Happening Right Fragging Now And We Don't Have Time To Spare. He makes it VERY clear that they WILL be talking about this later on, no ifs ands or buts, but he does put it on the back burner so they can actually get this plan through
the Autobots also have it pretty rough in terms of reveal since it's just. Right in the middle of them invading the Nemesis
but then when everything calms down........ then things get interesting :3
the emotions everyone feels are definitely complicated to say the very least of it. They're happy Smokescreen's alive! Don't get me wrong there!!! But there's also a BUNCH more they're feeling, especially after the immediate relief fades. You're right in how there's some anger at the secret keeping and tricks, but there's also a little bit of pride at what Smokescreen managed to accomplish, some mild discomfort that the kid did this by himself
However, most of all is...... concern honestly
after all, Smokescreen had been undercover for a long time, and the Autobots aren't blind to the differences, which nicely segues into the other point you brought up :)
Ratchet ends up dragging Smokescreen off to the side to remove the Phase Shifter as soon as he can, and he immediately gives him a check up that...... admittedly doesn't come out super great. Smokescreen hadn't gotten out of the collapsing base completely unscathed, not to mention all the grime and dirt that's been sticking to him for what could possibly be months now
and Smokescreen does have some..... habits
there is as you've mentioned Smokescreen forgetting he's not intangible anymore, and there have been more than a few instances of him walking or even running full speed into objects, walls or even other bots. He's a pretty frequent visitor to the medbay, and it gets bad enough that he starts carrying around a medkit
He's a weird mix of quiet and chatty. He's VERY socially starved and talks with the others whenever he can, but there are also times he forgets that people can see and touch him. The number of times he's been startled by people calling out to him or touching him when he didn't initiate it is more than he can count. There have also been times where he's just....... silently watched the other Autobots talking with a look that could only be described as longing, as if he's forgotten he's allowed to join in
he has an........ interesting relationship with the vehicons and Knockout. It's very tense and awkward, and honestly they're still largely terrified of him because of the months of Spooks. Now, Smokescreen doesn't regret what he did, not by a longshot...... but it does hurt a little bit whenever they whisper about him or flinch when they see him. It's especially bad with Knockout because of all Smokescreen's trips to the medbay
it takes Smokescreen a long time before he refuels with everyone else and recharges in a regular berth. Those habits were among the hardest for him to break. After so long of breaking into storage rooms to steal small portions so he wouldn't get caught and catching quick naps while being paranoid of falling through the airship, it's....... really difficult to adjust
to the Autobots, it's clear that he isn't the same bot as when they last saw him, and it's going to take time before he finds his "normal" again, but they do what they can to act as a support so he knows he doesn't have to be alone

GUYS GUYS I HAVE FOUND ANOTHER KIDZA FIC!! SO W/OUT FURTHER ADO HERE’S A LIST OF FICS INCLUDING THIS AU THAT’LL HOPEFULLY GROW OVER TIME!! :D
(all of these fics are on ao3 since that’s the platform i use to read fan fiction)
Philza Minecraft is so brave by Anonymous: a one shot book about phil and takes place in different aus. there are multiple kidza chapters and they all involve technodad
oh dear, can you see me? by findingkairos: a hurt/comfort fic in which techno and phil are on opposite sides of a war, but techno takes one look at this traumatized child and goes “haha, no” and snatches him
MCYT Drabbles (ON HOLD) by Anonymous: another one shot book, mostly centered around sbi but also includes dream-centric stuff. there’s only one kidza chapter, but honestly the phil angst and sbi content in the others is immaculate (fun fact this is what got me into kidza content)
The (mis)adventures of Mommyinnit, 16 year old Philza and deaged SMP by Domincja: basically everyone in the smp gets deaged except for tommy. he and a teenage phil are left to take care of 30+ toddlers. very casual fic so far so read it if you’re in a lighthearted mood
oh how lucky we are to watch you grow by p_ogman: a two shot where techno, wilbur & tommy live in the woods and find an injured phil. includes platonic a/b/o dynamics and found family fluff
hidden swords by p_ogman: a one shot that acts as a sequel to the fic above. basically people go after phil for his wings and sbi collectively shows them how badly they fucked up
Kidza by Specifically_vauge: basically a retelling of the antarctic empire and dsmp but with canon divergence and centered around phil & techno
aaaaaaand that’s it! please tell me if there are any other ones you find (especially if they’re completed or have updated recently)
also this is legit the first time i’ve ever used the link feature on literally ANY platform so please tell me if i comepletely fucked up the links somehow lol

Hello again! I've been scrollign through some of your older au's and just- I need more GoD. I want more possible younger/older brother relationship between Smokey & Predaking, even though technically Smokey's older(he's the little brother, he's definitely more immature than Preds). Also, I have to ask: What did happen when Soundwave tried to groundbridge him off the ship?
I wanna see possible Smokey & Preds saving the other Predacons, or if they're not able to, for at least a bonding moment with Smokey comforting Predaking after he's lost his siblings. I wanna see the reactions of the team to the anonymous helper, sending them decepticon info and nothing else. I wanna see their reactions to the supposed ghost, haunting Darkmunt. I wanna see if they blame themselves. Do they think they should've been nicer to him? To the basically kid, who gave up his life to give them the chance to end this war? Who never got the chance of seeing his home planet not plauged by war and destruction? Do they blame themselves for his spark not being able to rest, supposedly stuck here on earth, not let into the allspark and haunting the ones who killed him? Do they blame themselves for his death? Do they?
W E L L >:DDDDD
with Soundwave, this was something inspired from when Smokey yote himself off the Nemesis. Specifically how when he was falling, he ended up turning the Shifter off before he was about to fall through one of the portals only to get knocked aside by Megatron
(does this kinda contradict the S2 finale and how Smokey snuck back in canon? Maybe, but to be fair 1) that part of canon doesn't exist anymore, 2) the Phase Shifter is a little broken and doesn't work the same way anymore and 3) canon broke the logic first so Therefore I'm legally allowed to do the same)
anyways, why Soundwave doesn't talk about it
just. Smokescreen cranked up his Vengeful Ghost Factor to 20. When Soundwave tried ground bridging him off the ship, he simply kept slowly walking toward the mech, straight through the portal as if it didn't exist in the first place. He was relentless in his following, but also very very careful to never be fully in sight. Aside from a few slow following attempts, Smokey just stayed in the walls and floor around him. He'd hide in the floor and grab at his feet, gently brush his hands on his plating when he found him in the halls, would seek our and destroy any and all security cameras he could to make Soundwave just a little bit more blind
Soundwave doesn't mess with Smokescreen very much after that
but on a completely different note, you're absolutely right, Smokey and Predaking have SUCH sibling energy. Smokescreen talks for hours about anything and everything, but Predaking's favorite stories are the ones Smokey read in the Archives. He loves learning about Cybertronian culture, art, history, all those beautiful things which he never had a chance to experience himself. He's also fiercely protective of the smaller bot, and sure said protection is unnecessary on account of the whole He's Already Dead thing (at least to his knowledge), he can't help it
the two also like to go on long flights together. Smokescreen will hitch a ride on Predaking's back and they'll soar through the atmosphere together, nothing but the wind holding them back and gravity bending to their whims. These flights also serve as good secure places for them to talk without any of the Decepticons hearing them since whispering directly into Predaking's ears can get a little tiring for simple conversation
it's actually during one of these flight trips that Smokescreen tells Predaking about the Decepticon's plans to kill the other Predacons, at which he understandably flips his absolute SHIT. He's about ready to go on a fucking rampage and sets a good deal of the sky on fire, and it's only through some very desperate convincing on Smokey's part that the mech doesn't fly back to the Nemesis right that instant and tear them to shreds
so they come up with a plan. Predaking will distract the Autobots and keep them away for long enough so Smokescreen can use the phase shifter to get them all to safety by leading them deeper into the tunnels. Then they'll use the CNA and Synthetic Energon being stored to blow the place sky high so the Decepticons think the Predacons are dead and that they have Predaking's loyalty secured
I'll admit, I'm not too sure where exactly to go from here in terms of that specific plot thread. My best idea right now is Smokescreen hacking the Decepticon Groundbridge controls and stealing energon to keep them all fed which he simply disguises as his usual Ghostly Shenanigans. Predaking definitely affectionately call him their "Preda-prince" but given how close the two of them are it's basically official and he's considered a Predacon in all but frame by all of them
and Y E S with the Autobots. Wheeljack's account of this "ghost" is enough to raise some eyebrows. After all, he isn't a superstitious person, and the fact he's not that skeptical about it..... well, that's a little weird already
and oh boy, wouldn't it be fun if when they tried to take down Darkmount, Smokescreen ended up giving them some help behind the scenes :)
and honestly, the aftermath of that is going to be painful, for both groups. Smokescreen because as much as he desperately wants to reunite with the other Autobots, he can't deny that being behind enemy lines like this could be SUPER useful. He could feed the Autobots information, interfere with the Decepticons plans and technology, lower their morale to make them easier opponents......
it's too tantalising to give up because the Autobots need every advantage they have, especially now, so he decides to pay dead for a little while longer
but of course....... the Autobots are still completely under the impression he's dead. The guilt is all still there, and the fact it seems Smokescreen's spark is lingering in such a wrathful way? That despite everything he's done, the ultimate sacrifice he gave, he's been trapped and tethered to this plane of existence and not allowed the relief of the Allspark
it tears them apart inside :)

Hi again! I was just reading through some of your AU's and I cannot believe I forgot about Writing the Future. There is literally. So. Much. Potential here I can't- Like, imagine: Smokey mentioning the Omega keys before they found the Star Saber. For example, after a mission he's like: 'Whew! I hope finding the Omega Keys won't be as hard as this!' Team Prime: ...The what keys now?
And hes just- So confused cuz as far as he knows, they already found the Star Saber and got the message from Alpha Trion, but actually he just confused a vision with reality. And they actually didn't find the Star Saber yet and it throws them all for a loop-
S: Y'know, the message from the Star Saber? The keys Alpha Trion told Optimus about? The ones that can revive Cybertron? TP: Star Saber? Alpha Trion?? CYBERTRON CAN BE REVIVED?????
Maybe this can be what finally makes them realise that there's more to the trash child they found lol
Breaking News: Local Autobot team finds out their newest recruit is actually a cryptid, more at 8!
I had to-
HFVHGFFGGFFGHG Y E S
oh my god there's so much incredible potential for just Pure And Utter Insanity, all of which would be completely accidental. Smokescreen's just going about his life as normal and in the process accidentally shatters the plot into a bajillion little pieces
Smokey's just sitting there like. "yeah? The Star Saber??? Trion recorded a message for Optimus about the Omega Keys which can be used to completely revive Cybertron with pure cybermatter and pretty much completely fix the planet???? The Keys are on Earth and the Lock is in the Seas of Rust??????" and then just keeps going into more detail about both the Key's exact locations, how the Lock works, and general just a bunch of World Shatteringly Important Things like it's the most obvious well known thing in the world
and to make things even funnier, nobody would realize he's telling the future at first. After all, Smokescreen guarded Trion for ages, so of course he'd know these things. He was probably right there when Trion was recording these messages and sending off the relics!
there would definitely be some little things that would cue them in to something being Off though. Smokescreen knowing human traffic laws without needed to be taught is one. Him knowing the location of Deception Mines is another. However, they can't really complain because for every time it's weird and confusing there are at least 3 more that saved their skid plates
if Smokescreen ever gets yoinked by the Cons (the circumstances would definitely be different, Smokey and Arcee definitely wouldn't have the same argument since Smokey wouldn't have been knocked out by Starscream) he's going to cause pure HAVOC since his accidental future sight would also means he knows how to navigate the Nemesis without too much issue-

Yooooo! Welcome back boss man! (idk ur pronouns, is it ok for me to call you 'man'?)
Ne-ways, my overthinking aside, I love all your Smokey-centric aus! We desperately need more Smokescreen content.
But, I must say, Early Crash is prolly the most fascinating to me. Like, think of all the possibilities! Smokescreen's literally the only (awake, alive and sentient) Cybertronian on Earth rn, he can basically do anything (with the goverment monitoring him obv). I'd liek to think that when social media finally became popular he became a kind of a faceless celebrity yk? Or maybe he and his buddy that may-or-may-not-be Raf chat about technology and exchange tips and fun facts about it in private convos lol.
Thankee :DDDDDD (and dw, I feel comfortable with any pronouns or gendered terms, so feel free to refer to me however :D)
and I love the idea of him being a sort of Faceless Celebrity. What if when the internet does start to exist and pick up traction, Smokescreen starts a sort of dashcam podcast thing? Like, in the beginning it was just him doing verbal logs to fill the silence and make his travels less boring as he looked from Energon/Cybertronian Things, but then Fowler ends up listening to one of them and suggested Smokey start a podcast. This could even get him some potential spending money for little trinkets and the like
It probably wouldn't have a single topic he'd stick to, really just jumping around whatever he feels like talking about on any given day. Sometimes it's about movies or shows he recently discovered, other times it could be about where he is, and maybe every once in a while it could be just..... him venting. Talking about his home. His mentor. He'd of course be careful to not mention anything incriminating or suspicious, but it adds another thing to look forward to doing and to fill the empty, lonely silence.
And of course, the internet has no idea who this mysterious "Smokescreen" guy is or how he manages to travel to all these places that are ridiculously far away from each other, but he does get a decently large following as the years go by, so he considers it a win
and YES. I wanted to play around with Smokey meeting the kids at various points, so them bonding over tech and hacking is gonna be so much fun. Maybe he even teaches Raf the Cybertronian language, but under the guise it's some kind of code he made. So now on top of Raf already being a genius and gifted when it comes to tech, he's also had Smokescreen tutoring him for a couple years
(I'm also a sucker for the potential for holoforms, and maybe Smokescreen initially has one so he wouldn't be a driverless car but it gradually started getting more and more complex until he could use it to interact with people if he has to. Maybe this could be how he meets Jack and June?)
Also, I'll admit I'm currently playing around with the specifics of when he lands on Earth. Initially my idea was that he was only a couple years before canon...... but now I'm starting to think about the possibility of it being even more, say....... a couple decades :)
heck, Fowler might not even be his first minder. Who's to say he didn't have others before (maybe they just got old enough to retire, but if you want to go the angsty route they could be dead)
