Military Career Default Replacement: No Astronauts

@blackswan-sims was looking for this, so here's the military career default replacement I made for myself. It replaces level 9 (Astronaut) with "Brigadier". You can see the new description above.

No changes in wage, work days and hours

The career outfit will be the high rank uniform (same as for the General) instead of the astronaut one

Level 8 chance cards are edited to refer to Brigadier

Level 9 chance cards are edited to make sense with the new position

Download (SFS) (alternate)

The file is compressed. Compatible with BCON mods that alter career wages as long as the wage mod loads after the career default. Will conflict with other military career replacements.

Only English and English UK text strings are replaced, so won't work with games installed in other languages.

Hi everyone! My brand new mod is finally ready, and it's a total overhaul of it's predecessor. You get 90 new interactions, allowing your Sims to earn money whenever they like, in lots of new ways!

There are custom buffs, notifications and it's all Maxis Match! Young Adults and up can register to use Simoleonz Side Hustlez (SSH) via a computer under Career. They can do this whether or not they're currently employed. They'll receive a custom popup with a welcome message, and then they can use Home Hustlez; 20 tasks they can start and continue whenever they like on their PC or laptop. Once a job is started, if you cancel, a new option will appear on the computer to access Hustlez in Progress and finish the task!

Sims who also download the SSH app onto their phones (it has it's own custom menu) can try out Micro Hustlez; short-tasks like taking surveys that earn them a little payout when they need it most! Neighborhood Hustlez is up next, which includes 20 rabbithole jobs they can do in their community! Seasonal Hustlez is also available, and new jobs will appear depending on the time of year, 5 each for Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter.

Teens and children can use the Pocket Simoleonz app on their phones at weekends, which includes 10 tasks they can complete to earn some extra pocket money!

I really hope you like it! There are no messy pie menus, everything is neatly organized into pickers, and I've added custom notifications at the end of each task so you know exactly what you've earned.

what rly sucks too is that like . hoseok was just really hitting that point in the progression of his career where it would be really crucial to keep going in order to establish himself as a stand-alone act. and this is what people mean when they talk about mandatory enlistment being dehumanizing - it stops life in its tracks but its not like the world stops moving over a year and a half. its not really that im worried for his career more than like. the fact that this is the best timing for him despite everything he had going..

called up my old supervisor from my first ever job just now bc he’s my reference for a new job which is funny bc he works at this new company too. anyway he was like “yeah tbh the job will kinda suck bc of XYZ and the manager of that team is weird but if you endure a year there then u can move to smthn else within the company that’s better n other than the manager everyone else is nice etc. etc.” jfdksafgkjdh i appreciate the honestly, don’t know what i should do now uhsduhfug should i just be miserable for a year and then hit da bricks if it rly sucks?? ;w; i don’t even have an offer yet they’re just checking my references but hmmm kinda spiraling

aside: even tho this guy was my supervisor and we only worked together for like 3.5 months back then it was rly chill he watches anime so it wasn’t awkward :”) i remember on my first day he asked me if i have a bf (but not in a creepy way, he had a gf who is now his fiance hehe) and i said naw and i remember telling him later on during the job (bc we had a lot of time to just chat while working) that i doubt i’ll ever find love and idk if i see it for myself etc. etc. and then at the end of our call today (first time speaking in like 2 yrs) he was like “SO u got a mans yet??” LOL and it’s still no but it was a nice callback to me heh c’:

everyone please send manifesting energy my way bc i'm 90% sure i'm going to get a new job offer but they can't do the offer until they get my 10 year old maryland drivers license record which i had to request by mail and then they mail out to them and i first requested it when they asked me to on 8/03 and supposedly they mailed it out last week and i just need them to HURRY UP so i actually know whether i'm getting out of here. like at this point i would rather have a rejection than this effing limbo

I really hope you like my latest creation. This is pack of 20 full-time careers, and you can choose between taking the day shift or working nights! It includes 60 levels in total, with custom buffs, Daily Tasks (that are different for EVERY level), interactions and uniforms.

These should keep your Sims busy, and they include all the features of EA's careers; layoffs, enabled for Neighborhood Stories joining etc.

Note: One weird feature is NOT mod related: you cannot change career branches in the vanilla game. Why they did that is beyond me, but there is a workaround. To change career branches, you can right click on the career panel if you have UI Cheats, or use MCCC.

today at work a customer was talking ab how one of their friends got an interview for med school and also oomf told me she got engaged recently and all I can think ab is how I’m so behind on life lmfaoooooo I have nothing going for me rn like not career not personal life I got nothing!!!! fucking nothing I’m so sick and tired
