So, in Twilight Princess Link is only called a divine beast by Midna and other twili/dark world beings during his era. In the light world, he is called cursed and a monster. The exact farthest thing from "divine". However. I love that the divine beasts in Botw/Tolk are inspired by Twi. I think that little chuckle from Twi is him laughing that it took until Botw to get the divine beast title by fellow light dwellers.

I have to wonder if the ones who made the divine beast ever knew that Twi's "divine" form was a wolf. I can see them going into catalogs of history to look up ancient beasts/animals to guess which one the hero could have been. Understandingly each tribe had its own biases on what a divine beast was. Goron did a Dodongo, Rito did a Helmaroc, Zora did Elephant, and the Gerudo did a lama. (just possible thoughts) None even thought a "Devine Beast" being a wolf, since wolves are considered enemies/monsters in both games and are commonly found. This has brought my attention to one thought that has never left my mind since. "They just can't get my beast form right!"

Why didn't anyone tell me that the background music for each of the divine beast 'dungeons' is S.O.S. in morse code that is then drowned out by S.A.D. instead!!!

Cause I was just listening to LoZ music while doing my homework, and now I'm bawling!

Like the S.O.S. in Vah Medoh is SO frantic and how much immediate danger and pain must Revali have been in to openly express being so scared and panicked!!!!!!!

And in Vah Ruta the S.O.S. starts relatively calm and then grows more and more and more desperate as the song goes on, and Mipha in no way deserved that kind of growing terror in her last moments!!!!!

And the rhythm of the S.O.S. calls in both Vah Naboris and Vah Rudania sound so resigned, as if both Urbosa and Daruk had accepted their fates before sending the calls

And listening to the songs you can hear each of the champions' final battles as they fight, desperately beg for help, and then are drowned out by the 'seek and destroy' message overriding their distress calls

And I'm now sobbing

Been playing BotW for a few weeks and I only now caught on that the divine beasts are named after previous Zelda characters.

hi everyone! these lil guys are nearly gone so I thought i’d make a post about them. i’m not sure i’ll be restocking them again—you can check them out while they’re still available here!

Personally I think the ending of botw directly contradicts that whole stupid thing of "all the sheikah tech just disappeared in the middle of the night (and no one questioned it)", because even if that DID happen (if it's not in the game it's not canon, to me), what was up with Vah Ruta? Did it just shut down, then frantically start back up when it realized "oh shit, calamity's gone, I have to go fuck off into the sunset"? Like, it had to be operational to move to wherever it moved to, unless someone came along and teleported it all to who knows fucking where (which is like. Extraordinarily unlikely. There's like three people in Hyrule that could do that and none of them have a good reason to)

When I first got and started playing botw in 2019 (I was unable to get it earlier for reasons) I was going in almost completely blind, and when I got to the story of the divine beasts I assumed they would be like giant robot bosses that would walk around terrorizing the landscape and you'd fight the divine beats themselves in the overworld in super cool almost shadow of the collosus type battles, I was also under the impression that literally everyone was dead and there were no settlements or dungeons in this game, needless to say I was in for a surprise.

“Hyrule is saved. We must leave to fight crime in other kingdoms now.”

Somewhere out there Majora or Onyx or Veran are just having the worst days as a giant elephant crawls ashore and starts blasting them with lasers
