One of the perils of tumblr surrendering to an algorithm based system, and not defaulting to tags and prefs like we'd like, we're now drowning in a lot of content we DON'T WANT TO SEE ALL THE TIME, or ever.

When we look at a single post and like it, suddenly we're bombarded in "FOR YOU" with 900 posts on the same vein of that like, when all we wanted was maybe one or two posts. Now we're in an obsessive pile of that one thing overtaking our suggestions and feed. Or worse! We click on a blog or post to block/blacklist it permanently, because we hate it. Because...sometimes we need to actually look at the OP's tags and posts in order to hide the content specifically and effectively. But OOPS! We just created a "tick" that tells tumblr's "genius" algorithm that we want to see a ton of the very thing we blocked.

I guess you can block an entire blog, but why do that when it's JUST THE CONTENT you don't want to see in your suggestions and feed? If you don't have XKit Rewritten Post Block--which erases a post forever from your view--I just found out we have a "dismiss" option. Some of you may already know about this, but it was news to me because I am so annoyed with the extras and bs programming on tumblr, I tend to not see the GOOD stuff in the midst of all the useless changes. This is one of the good options, like the tag editing additions.

BOOM. It's out of your hair without actually blocking or blacklisting. Now the dumbass algorithm is told to take a chill pill and back off.

Shaking Bells Hells by the shoulders again: You had a very good recon mission just seeing the other side of the Bloody Bridge and extracting basic info in a small town. Take a moment to report back to people in power all the useful things you already learned. Get more spells/supplies from them. Then continue to the heart of the enemy. Time is short, but probably not so short that you can't take an extra hour or two to do that. Keyleth can tree teleport and she knows where you were. She just couldn't immediately jump to you because she had things to do/settle first. It's a war, powerful people can't come to your aid at the drop of a hat.

mass effect fandom typically has no problem disregarding or rewriting portions of canon, but one thing i have almost never seen touched is the friendship between garrus and shepard. so here is a poll because i am genuinely curious. i tried to be as expansive as poll limitations allowed, but since we are already throwing out canon i recognize there are a lot of variances that haven't been included. because of that, i would particularly like it if people elaborated about their non-romantic relationship with garrus in the tags, comments, or reblogs - especially if you are someone who has voted for any of the non-friend options. thanks for your time!

i dont think ive talked about sy's plans for the future? by which i mean he has none. ok like. hes enamored with the idea of saving himself but he doesnt feel like he has a lot of viable options. he COULD go to sqh and ask him to set up a nice life somewhere far away from cang qiong mountain, but sqh is just as busy as sy. he COULD try to befriend lbh, but lbh lives in the disciples dormitories now and has very little overlap with sy's life. he COULD try to find a cultivation sect or trading company to employ him, but sqq would probably kill them and him if he did that. also, hes terrified of trying to change his position in the sect already, bc he feels its unstable as it is.

his BEST options for the future are probably

1) finding some kind of mystical plant panacea to help his cultivation

2) lqg taking him to bai zhan peak so he works for his peak doing the finances and paperwork

or 3) dying again and hoping the system feels bad about it and gives him a 3rd chance at life

Him being a brothel owner/manager is a change, yes, but the writers are clearly exchanging his canonical participation in one disgusting system of human exploitation (slavery) for another (prostitution).

Some people have likely forgotten things as the book originally came out in 1976 and they may have last read it anywhere from a year to forty seven years ago, and his slave owning ends fairly quickly into the first book, but the point still stands.

i think in the finale yaz should say “i think you need a doctor” and she should kiss 13 and there shouldnt be a scifiwifey reason for it like 9 had to kiss rose but while shes kissing her she handcuffs her to the tardis console and the doctor doesnt notice bc shes being kissed by yaz can you blame her but then yaz takes a step back, expresses her intentions like 12 does in the doctor falls to bill and nardole after missy leaves with the crucial difference that yazs intentions are not to die and take as many as possible with her, but to live and save the doctor and oh yeah maybe the universe too.

and the doctor tries to grab her to stop her but shes yanked back by the console shes handcuffed too and yaz is just of reach (oh the irony) and yaz just looks at her like the doctor looked at her in timeless children, apologetic but determined, and then she just turns around and leaves without saying anything else and the doctor yells at her to come back of course and yaz doesnt of course but THEN emergency programme one activates and yaz has left her a little hologram message that wears a rueful little smile and says:

The temptation to vague about something in the milgram-confessions blog because its something thats bothered me for Actual Years about certain fandoms vs letting it go because when it is brought up its actually done somewhat tastefully and reasonably which makes me happy and this anon probably didnt mean it in the incredibly bad faith way I keep on seeing it be repeated so really Im getting upset over nothing.

I just tested it again, and forewarning using the "Dismiss" is not an instant fix. You need to teach this dumbass algorithm like a fucking neopet that you don't want that much content over and over until it learns. It may take a day or 2 until it stops dumping so much of the same content in your suggestions. I don't want a bunch of babies in my tags and inbox telling me "IT DOESn't WOrK oMG you'rE SO wROng" I will spank you so hard.

the way ailette and tesilid never talk about their dislike for the strict order is so funny and GNRHRNGHRHGH because the comments sections have been going "hey tesilid have you heard about this banging new religion!!!" since like the first chapter tesilid was introduced. and she still hasn't said a thing about it.

like. On the topic of Dazai finding out Akutagawa died:

It's probable that he absolutely knows, finding out while in Mersault. It would make a lot of sense if Ango notified him first thing (given that Ango was also the first person Atsushi told about what happened at the ship). Another situation would be Ango hiding this information from him in order to not give him more baggage while dealing with Fyodor, but this seems unlikely.

Dazai would feel guilty i think, because why would he feel "happy" that Akutagawa is not killing anymore if he didn't care at all about him?

He doesn't know Akutagawa comes back. And he's not going to make it to Japan in less than 2hrs, so he will find out he's alive way after the rest of the cast (unless he and Chuuya communicate with Mori or Ango in the meantime).

So, i think Dazai would not have the guts to face Akutagawa afterwards, because he's deathly allergic to admit he ever fucked up. There should be a re-encounter, and an apology, but it should not be warm. though it probably would be and i'd hate that

so uh. for anyone still looking at using cohost. they shared their March financial update.

they are, at best, four weeks from closing up shop and ceasing to exist. They may not be able to get emergency funding from their benefactor who they've been out of contact with for a while in time, and even if they do it just delays the inevitable.

Centralized social media is inherently expensive. Especially developing the software from scratch, and extra especially when one of your main devs is working on a different but mildly related project meant to be a better version of patreon and kofi. A good idea, but like.

you can barely develop and work on ONE platform to make it break even.

anyways. despite it's promise I cannot even think about suggesting cohost as an option. They've been in this "oh my god we're running out of money" situation for MONTHS now, this isn't a new "oh shit sudden expense" time. If they can't get money now, it's joever for cohost and ASSC.
