When Oda found out Akutagawa went to take on Mimic by himself, he did not see Dazai's feral subordinate that almost everyone on the PM feared.

He saw a child, one that Dazai appreciated (in some twisted way) and that child was certainly going to die, so he went to save him.

It's strange to me how Akutagawa never brings up Odasaku again, given that he literally saved his life.

Aku did resent Odasaku for being just an unremarkable guy that had all of Dazai's attention. Did his perception of him changed after the Mimic incident? did he blame (correctly) Dazai leaving the pm on his death? did he just not care?

We saw Akutagawa bite Atsushi at the airport, and he clearly drank his blood in chapter 110.

He's still a vampire when fukuchi is defeated, and the last we see is him appearing as a human (new fit and all) but we can't see the right side of his face. The official artwork from the studio shows he has black stripes in his face.

If somehow the tiger's blood shares the healing capabilities that Atsushi posess, drinking it could've brought him back to life when Bram retreats his skill. Or it could be that Akutagawa cannot revive and he gets to stay as a vampire, but the tiger's blood is what makes him be more human-like.

Either way he gets to match Atsushi now (i hope those 2 lines in his face are permanent) and i think that's lovely.

do you ever think about how in main bsd akutagawa died from a slice to his throat to cover for atsushi and how in beast the first attack atsushi lands on him is a slice to his throat

There's something i love about sskk and the way life and death are dealt with in Beast:

When Atsushi is introduced at the very beginning of the story, he says he became the reaper (death itself) in order to escape from it, because he is terribly afraid of dying. he admits this.

When Akutagawa's arc comes to its turning point nearing the end, he admits the second man he wanted to kill was himself. Now his disregard for consequences and tendency to go in suicidal rampages makes sense. He doesn't think he deserves living.

Still, when Kunikida ignites that little spark of hope inside of him, he decides to keep going. and he's able to defeat Atsushi, who then asks him to kill him. Atsushi, deathly afraid of dying. Asks for the release of death.

And Akutagawa refuses and encourages him to keep living. He, who only moments before wanted nothing else than what Atsushi is asking of him.

Two men surrounded and marked by death at the beginning. A boy who desperately wanted to live and another who wanted to die exchange places, and at the very end, they both helped the other (in its own, convoluted way) see that life is worth living for.

if there's endless timelines in the bsd universe then there's one where Atsushi refused to leave Akutagawa's corpse alone in that ship and perished with him after rampaging on Fukuchi

love the widely accepted hc that Akutagawa is always cold to the touch. and i like to think he is cold but doesn't feel cold himself, and is rather indifferent to temperature. That changes when Atsushi is in close proximity, Atsushi's presence has a something that'll make him feel warm (is it bc of anger, bc he's annoyed by him or bc he has a massive crush, all are valid) and eventually he'll come to seek that warmth unprompted (and become addicted to it) because it feels good to not be cold for once.

bonus points if he does realize that's the reason he always gravitates towards Atsushi and tries to ignore it (and fails).

Expanding a little my "theory" that Akutagawa may be 100% a vampire now: His new fit + the knight motifs are kind of medieval-y, the only other character in the whole series that comes close to those aesthetics is Bram (the chivalry thing mostly) and the colour pallettes are similar, with a lot of gray.

Also, Bram has some kind of markings in his face too, if Aku remains a vampire, the stripes in the right side of his face would be a big coincidence🤔.

So he becomes Bram's kin, and possibly his squire?

(This is probably not the case bc it would mean he would leave the PM. Or maybe not. And it would be kind of pointless to have Akutagawa get free of the negative influence Dazai had in him just to be under the control of another person again, even though Bram has (presumably) good intentions now, he can still command his kin as he likes).

For my first scout i didn't know what group to choose and reading a bit i noticed they have distinctive colours???? and i went with Undead bc their colour is purple and i got a cute guy who is apparently A VAMPIRE??? clocked as a vampire liker by an anime rhythm game. but tbf the aesthetics should've been enough of a clue ahah i was very Sleepy at the time

My phone lags and overheats a little with the mvs so the first lives i did were awful 💔 my pride was in shambles. i found out that i can turn off the effects and mvs playing and surprisingly, it works fine and i can play sooooo much better

I kind of not understand the game yet. but i'll have to keep playing for that
