Is Keaya Alberich x Diluc Ragnvindr (Kaeluc) Incest?
Tw: eh, mentions of incest ig and Homophobia and racism at the last part
Tldr: It's is.... NOT INCEST
Why is it not incest? Because they're sworn brothers
" But it's still BROTHERS!! IT'S INCEST!!!!!! "
Now listen here you ignorant fool.
Chinese version of "sworn brothers" is 义兄. Meaning 义兄 =两个人之间没有血源关系,但是兴趣相投,或者是志向相同,虽不同路,但相互怜惜便结拜为兄弟.
Translation: to 2 people, NOT related, but have the same Ideals and aspirations. However, they go different paths in the future, thus, to cherish this bond, they become sworn brothers BY a ceremony.
Kaeya and Diluc are no where near related, Diluc's dad just took Kaeya in to foster.
Notice that the word 义兄 is hardly used now in modern society, that's because it was commonly used in ancient china ( when there were emperors and wars and etc.) with many ancient Chinese literature to back the term up.
The reason why many Chinese kaeluc or luckae fans ship this is because of the double meaning. In ancient china, homosexuality is actually very common, it only became illegal in 1903 (Where the war with England and stuff happend).
A lot of famous Chinese literature like 《红楼梦》、《金瓶梅》 has some 男风(男=boy/men 风= wind, 男风= "a wave/ trend of male homosexuality" or a more secrete way of saying male homosexuality ) topics and stories.
男风大兴,炽于女色 = a love of men to the point that it overcame the love of woman
Thus since homosexuality was a thing in ancient china, there must be gay marriage. However, historians found that ancient people was using the term 契兄弟= contract brothers ( 契= deed/ contract, 兄弟= brothers) to describe gay marriage.
Since having a gay relationship has intertwined the words brothers "兄弟” in it, many historians also wondered that “ 义兄” which was widely used back then could have a double meaning to male lovers.
Yeah, it could or could not be in Diluc's and Kaeya's case. However, Mihoyo didn't use 继兄= step brother, but instead used 义兄= sworn brothers.
继兄= step brother 🙅‍♂️
义兄= sworn brothers 🙆‍♂️
(If they were step brother's it would be stepcest, I guess)
And since a lot of BL (boys love, basically yaoi) written in current China has risen in popularity. If you read a lot of BL novels, u may find that sworn brothers is a common troupe in them, as this is also a way to censor and give an excuse to the bond between the 2 men.
Why would we need an excuse for a bond between two men?
Because China and most other Asian countries are not as accepting to homosexuals like the west. But that can be said in another post, probably not, i dont like posting these.
Here is my closing.
I myself dont ship Kealuc. No, not because im Homophobic. No, not because im against a tan dating a white. And No, it isnt because im a Jeanluc or any other shipper. It just does'nt float my boat, ok? It's cute, yeah, angry x sly is cute.
Then what gives me the right to rant about this?
Im just tired of seeing artist on twitter, instagram and tumblr getting harrassed for liking a ship that you or anyone else dislikes. Comments like "Wow you're art is so good, such a shame that you ship Kealuc tho" or "it's always the talented artist who are the Kaeluc shippers" but the ones that hurt me more are the one who directly attack my identity "it's always the chinese who are problematic" and even "First you start a pandemic then you do this, can you be even more disgusting?"
That's not ok, that's racist.
Racism is not ok. And it never will be, dont tolerate racism cause if we do, nothing will change.
Thank you for taking your time to read this.
I hope that if you were onw of the people who attack others, I hope you can change. I wish you no bad luck.
(Oh yeah, you can make fun of me for using mobile lmfao)

DRUNK WORDS, SOBER THOUGHTS.
“ you know what? i miss you. i miss my brother. ”
or, in which diluc gets drunk, kaeya is a little bit tipsy, and some confessions get spilled.
Tumblr media
diluc/kaeya (familial/platonic u stinkies)
category/warnings: bittersweet, alcohol consumption, characters being drunk, brotherhood am i right yall 😊, kaeya is called a ragnvindr at some moments, i focus more on kaeya here i am so sorry diluc luvrs
note: blame tiktok, conan gray but also me for this fic. my head hurts mb if there are any mistakes @xiaophobic @starglitterz
Tumblr media
“well, well, well, if this isn’t the diluc ragnvindr drunk. never thought i’d witness that sight again,” the blue haired man says while walking through the door to angel’s share and meeting no one other than his brother sitting by the bar, his head slugging down and hand holding a glass of some kind of an unidentified alcohol mixture — or at least, so he guessed, because the stench in the air couldn’t have been anything else.
he closes the door behind him and slowly makes his way to him, his eyesight refocusing and focusing over and over. fuck, maybe he was more than just tipsy.
“shut it,” diluc mumbles, his words slurred and eyes closed.
“oh, come on now, brother,” he says, plopping onto the barstool next to him. “it’s not like i’m the soberest either or anything like that.”
“we’re not brothers.”
kaeya feels a quick and small pang in his heart, yet he doesn’t react in any way. he’s used to it; after all, how could someone like him even deserve a family after all he’s done?
“maybe you’re a little bit less drunk than i thought you were,” he mutters quietly. it was supposed to be humorous yet his voice comes out as flat. maybe, if diluc was truly a little bit less drunk, he’d hear an unmistakable hurt in it — deeply hidden and almost unhearable, — but he wasn’t. and so he didn’t hear it.
neither did he see the emotions quickly flashing in kaeya’s visible eye. and the blue haired man thanks the archons above for that (not that he was particularly fond of them; but he had to thank someone for this miracle. although, maybe thanking this godawful alcohol diluc was drinking was a better choice).
“i’m not drunk.”
“yeah, you sure aren’t, my dear brother,” kaeya deadpans when diluc’s head almost land on the table. archons, he always knew he was a lightweight, but this? how much did he drink to get himself to this state, he wonders. and what even got him to drink. “oh? no denying to me calling you brother this time?”
there is silence between the two of them — two people whose misunderstandings and grudges got the best of them. they were both at fault; but they would never admit it. the ragnvindrs always had trouble with pride. and the brothers were no exception to that.
“you know what? i miss you. i miss my brother,” diluc ragnvindr throws out of himself. and it feels nice. it feels nice to finally say it — to say something he would never utter to do if he wasn’t under the influence of alcohol. diluc ragnvindr is a coward and he knows it — and he also knows he won’t remember anything from today. hell, he’s already beginning to forget things. he doesn’t look at the calvary captain nor does he lift his head. he simply chugs down on the rest of his drink.
kaeya sits silently; as if stunned, not daring to utter a word, too scared to pop this bubble, this imagination, because how many times did he dream of diluc ragnvindr calling him his brother again? how many times did he wish of being seen as family again?
“that’s a sweet confession, but i’d like to hear that when you’re sober,” he nonchalantly says, as if his throat didn’t get clogged up and his eyes teary.
“but we are brothers, are we not? actually, why did you stop using ragnvindr as your surname, huh? it’s yours to use, still. we’re family. or more like we were family,” he adds under his breath. they were family, once.
kaeya ragnvindr.
he longed for it. he longed for that surname or, to be more precise, for the feeling of belonging somewhere, to something, to someone. he longed for a home, a home where he could feel at peace, a home where he could shed all the masks and all the secrets. a home where he wouldn’t be anyone but just kaeya. no one more and no one less.
just kaeya.
and he once felt that way — before he decided to destroy it, envelop himself within the icy torrents and cutting himself from the outside world. yes, kaeya ragnvindr was a person he buried a long, long time ago. it was a child that died under the scorching flames and burning fire on that fateful day.
“…come on, brother. i’ll get you home. you’ve had enough,” the cryo user decides against diluc’s protests.
mondstadt is silent. there is no light in the windows and no chatter usually filling the streets. they must’ve spent more time in there than he thought they did. it’s peaceful. it’s quiet.
it’s nice.
“it reminds me of when we were kids. you remember? when you used to get so… so… tired and i’d have to carry you back home… and…” the redhead tries to talk, but his words only become more and more slurred. he’s falling asleep, kaeya realizes and he sighs thinking that he’d have to drag his brother’s unconscious body all the way to dawn winery. diluc was always the stronger one — but maybe, that has changed over the years. a lot of things did.
take care of one another, now, crepus used to say to them, day by day, month by month, year by year. brotherly bonds are not that easy to break.
i’m sorry, he whispers into the cold night, with his brother’s warm body slumped over his. he’s not sure who he’s apologizing to; there is no witness in sight, no spectator except the wind blowing and rustling up the leaves on the ground.
( it’s alright, child. you’ve done enough. )
( and for the first time in a very long time, kaeya ragnvindr or kaeya alberich; whoever he once was and whoever he was about to become, sighed a sigh of relief. )

Pitiful | Diluc x Reader
Hello everyone! We've both been a little busy but I finally got around to writing some Genshin angst!! I hope you guys enjoy it! - Pocket ♡
➺ Side note: So my friend sent me a video of one of those genshin characters dancing and I based it off of that video. Now I can't find the link because I ended up saving the video, but I'll ask her for another one to link it here. The video just shows Diluc and Jean dancing and he spins her over his head- yes I got jealous ➺ Warnings: Pure angst. ➺ Word Count: 2.3k
➺ Summary: You believed you could rival her and win Diluc's heart, but it's time to stop living in your fantasy world.
PART 2 | PLEASE COME BACK A [Here]
Tumblr media
“Here you are,” you said, as you placed the basket of decorations on the table, “everything you asked for.”
“Always so reliable,” Kaeya commented as he opened the basket, “look at that, we’ve got everything we need. Thank you, (y/n). Are you attending?”
“Of course, I can’t just say no after being personally invited.” You explained, leaning against the counter. Kaeya smirked but didn’t look at you.
“Oh yeah? Is that the only reason?” You looked his way, tilting your head a little.
“What do you mean?”
“It’s not because of a certain… someone?” You rolled your eyes and sighed, returning to your original position.
“No. I don’t know why everyone assumes I like him. We barely interact.”
“Oh our definition of barely must be really different then.” Kaeya teased, finally looking up at you. “Because you’re always helping him. Honestly, every time I run into you, you mention you’re helping Diluc.”
“I do not!” You huffed, crossing your arms.
“Sure thing, (n/n). Thanks for your help. See you tomorrow.” Once Kaeya disappeared from your view, you frowned and slid down the counter until you hit the ground. It was true, you were in love with Diluc but you just never had the ability to tell him.
There were many times that you wanted to and you had even planned on it… but whenever you saw him, he sapped your strength. Not to mention, you were never in the right setting. Of course, you could just tell him you loved him while fighting hilichurls… but it could’ve led to an awkward situation after.
Either way, you planned on telling him tonight. You would find a way to get him alone and then confess. After confessing, if he rejected you, it would be ok because you were planning on leaving with your friend Alessia. If he accepted… well then you could stay a bit longer.
Alessia had been your friend for years and recently, she’d planned a trip to Inazuma. She had asked you to join her and you agreed almost immediately. The thing was… it required being away for a while and so you devised the most perfect plan possible. Kind of. You could only hope it went well.
***
“There you are, we’re going to be late.” Alessia commented as she walked over to you with a wave. She was wearing a beautiful blue dress that hugged her curves and glittered under the lights. She had a thin scarf that hung around her arms, golden earrings and a pearl necklace.
“You look like royalty.” You commented, as she looked you up and down.
“Well you look sexy, I dig the color. It really suits you. There’s no way Diluc can keep his eyes off of you tonight!” You laughed and shook your head, walking to the front door. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t dress up so that Diluc would look your way, but Alessia didn’t need to hear that.
“Come on, let’s go.” The two of you made your way to the large venue where the party was being held. It was an event held by the Knights of Favonius, one that many would attend, including Diluc. You had been personally invited due to being close with Kaeya for the main part, but also because you were an avid helper of the Knights of Favonius. No matter what the issue, you were always willing to lend a helping hand. They owed you a lot and so you were their esteemed guest.
“Wow, it’s beautiful here.” Alessia commented as you two entered the large hall. The decorations were so elegant, along with the snack bar, an actual bar, servers walked around with small desserts and alcohol, there was a live band, and the entire place just radiated “fancy ball” energy.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been to an event like this.” You said, walking alongside your tall friend.
“Definitely worth it, no?” She giggled before her eyes widened. “Oh my god, look.” You looked in the direction she pointed to and froze. There stood Diluc in a suit! His look was so foreign but handsome nonetheless. His sharp eyes seemed to be watching everyone for the time being, not really interested in the party itself. Typical Diluc.
“Woah… he looks… so pretty.” Alessia bent down so that she could whisper in your ear.
“Go, now’s your chance.”
“The party just started, I can’t just leave.” You said, not looking back at her. You could NOT stay here if Diluc rejected you, besides that was the whole plan! You confessed near the end of the event so you could have alone time after said rejection.
“Fine, don’t confess yet, but go steal his attention!” She gave you a little shove, making you stumble a little before you walked in his direction. Your nerves soared high, yet the thought of being around him brought you more comfort than anxiety.
“Diluc,” you started, waving and smiling at him. He gave you a wave before standing up straight, “you’re here.”
“Yeah, well an old friend talked me into coming. How are you, (y/n)?”
“I’m doing well, thank you. You look so nice and very… different. A good different.”
“Thank you, I suppose you’re mostly used to seeing me in my regular black clothes. It does feel a little… stuffy.” You giggled and shook your head.
“Don’t you get stuffy in that long sleeved jacket of yours? This fabric looks thinner than that anyway.” Diluc chuckled at your words, making your heart skip a beat. It was rare to hear him laugh, so whenever you managed to make him do so you felt just a little bit proud.
“Ok, fine you’re right. It’s a little more breathable. But I feel more comfortable in my regular clothes. You also look different. Seeing you all dressed up like this is a… refreshing sight.” You couldn’t help the blush that made its way to your cheeks. Compliments from him were also a rare occurrence so you took what you could get.
“Th-thank you.” Uncharacteristically, Diluc leaned in with a teasing glint in his eyes.
“And you’re blushing. That’s also quite refreshing to see. You’re a whole different person in such a formal setting… and I must admit, I love seeing you this way. How redder can your cheeks get?” You gently smacked his arm, looking away shyly.
“Oh hush, now you’re just teasing me.”
“A little bit, yeah I am.” He confessed, pulling away and moving towards the wall again. You joined him, your eyes scanning the crowd for a moment before you looked his way again.
“By the way, who’s this friend who invited you? And how did they manage to get you to agree?”
“They’re an old friend, we’ve known each other for a while. I figured… I don’t do this often and since they asked more than once, I’d comply this one time.”
“Are they here right now? I have to meet them, maybe I can take some notes.” You teased, to which he chuckled again.
“When do I say no to you?”
“You said no the other day!” You giggled, turning to him.
“Yeah, that’s because you wanted to climb to the roof of the winery. I was worried you’d fall and hurt yourself.”
“Aw you were worried, how sweet.”
“No, I just didn’t want to clean-” Diluc abruptly stopped when he saw something, bringing a frown on your face. You followed his gaze only to see Grandmaster Jean. She was wearing a beautiful dress, and for a moment, all eyes were on her. You tore your eyes away, looking towards the man beside you only for your heart to shatter.
That look in his eyes showed he was in pure awe.
Was… Jean that beautiful?
Yeah, actually she was. The way the lights reflected off her dress and her body just gave her this unearthly glow, one that clearly outshone yours. Though she was a knight, her body had no scars- evident from the skin that showed through the dress. You knew you weren’t as beautiful as Jean, but that didn’t matter right? Because Diluc was the last person to chase after physical beauty.
“D-Diluc?” Yet here he was, unable to comprehend anything but Jean. Your brows furrowed when you remembered Kaeya mentioning that Diluc and Jean had been friends for a while. Was she the one who invited him here? She must’ve been. Who else would Diluc listen to?
Actually, there had been a few events you’d tried to invite Diluc to, yet he always said no. So what changed his mind here? Was it because Jean asked?
The ache in your heart grew when you realized that compared to Jean, you had no chance. Suddenly, that confidence you’d built up just fell apart. There was no point because you weren’t her.
“Diluc.” You called, tapping his arm. A blush rose to his cheeks before he blinked repeatedly and looked away.
“S-sorry, I was a little d-distracted.” He muttered, making you nod.
“Yeah, that’s fine. Um…” however, you had nothing to say. For once, you didn’t know how to continue the conversation. All you could think about was that look in his eyes when he saw Jean. That was the way you looked at him- or the way Alessia described. Does that mean Diluc was in love with Jean?
“Are you ok?” He asked, peering down at you. You opened your mouth, unable to stop yourself from asking.
“Diluc, are you in-”
“(y/n).” You paused when a voice came from behind you. Turning around, you saw Alessia standing there, with a look of concern on her face.
“Y-yes?”
“Kaeya said he needs our help, come on.” You nodded and gave Diluc an apologetic look before quickly following the woman.
***
“Thank you, both.” Kaeya mumbled with a sigh. Alessia smiled and patted his back before looking at you.
“I can finish up the rest, why don’t you head back?” You nodded and quickly made your way back to the party.
While helping Kaeya for the last fifteen minutes, you had come to a decision. You were going to ask Diluc if he loved Jean or not and based on his response, you would confess. If he denied it, then you would tell him your feelings, but if he admitted it… then you would leave.
You quietly repeated the words to yourself, not wanting to mess up when you entered the hall once more. You spotted Diluc and started to make your way towards him when you saw him approach Jean. He leaned in and whispered something to her, making her cheeks turn red. After another moment, he was leading her to the center floor where others had already begun dancing.
So… he did like her. Your eyes fell to the ground as you moved back until you hit the wall behind you. Of course, what made you think you stood a chance?
Man, you really had some nerve liking a man that was completely out of your league. What were you? A masochist?
Give up already… he would never love you back. Not today, tomorrow, not even in another world.
You watched the two glide across the floor, moving with each other expertly, as if they’d danced a million times before. They just looked perfect together, as if they were meant to be. Soulmates decided by the universe. They were the couple everyone rooted for. Their elegance and power just complimented one another so well.
What made you think you could compete? With the Dandelion Knight, herself? The woman Diluc had mentioned too many times in your conversation, the woman who clearly made a lasting impression on him, the woman who just seemed better than you in all aspects. Beauty, talent, combat, elegance, communication…
Tears blurred your vision as you watched them move about the dance floor. They outshone the other dancers easily, making them all disappear into a void. Jean even jumped up and around Diluc, her beautiful dress flowing behind her. People cheered and clapped at their performance but you watched with a bitter heart.
“They’re so perfect together, aren’t they?”
“Master Diluc and grandmaster Jean? I know!”
“I heard they had a thing.”
“I know, they used to be close a while back.”
“Grandmaster Jean’s always had a favor towards Master Diluc.”
“They’re such a power couple.”
The conversation you heard around you tore into your heart. A tear finally slipped down your cheek as someone stopped beside you. You felt numb and you weren’t even sure where you were right now.
“Looks like he’s not available.” Alessia’s voice came through. All you could do was sniffle as you watched the man you love dance with someone better than you. “I suppose we’re going to Inazuma tomorrow then?”
“Yeah…” their dance came to an end and the room was filled with applause. The two walked away to the side, getting something to drink. That’s when you saw Diluc’s eyes flicker to you. They widened when he noticed your tears, but you didn’t look away. You could only hope that your look of pure defeat would vocalize your true feelings for him because that was the only time you’d admit them.
You didn’t notice it due to the distance, but Alessia did. There was something… that broke in Diluc. Jean hadn’t noticed since she was deciding what to get, but it didn’t matter.
“Huh… neither suffers alone.” Alessia mumbled, before taking your shoulder and turning you around. She urged you to walk and you obeyed, finally taking your eyes off of him.
Once you were outside, the silence mercilessly tore down your defenses. Sobs escaped your mouth and you fell to your knees. Alessia frowned, rubbing your back before picking you up in her arms. You should’ve just stayed away from the party, you should’ve made an excuse or something…
You were just so pitiful.

Ever since I made this connection, I have been constantly thinking about how similar Kaeya is to small lamp grass.
blue tones,
glows in the night (either pertaining to his bright night life or the fact that he does not succumb to his homeland's darkness),
grows in the randomest places regardless of weather or land implying it is a very adaptable plant,
"used in cooking to enhance other flavors" honestly just reminds me of that one party that Kaeya helped setting but in the actual thing he sat apart from the rest of the group? So in a way, he makes others shine but that's probably just me reaching...
And, of course, as cherry on top, small lamp grass is one of Diluc's ascension materials, yes? So it kind of implies it to be his favorite, or something. Nonetheless, it's there to make him stronger.
See where I'm getting at ? (-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩___-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩-̩̩̩)
