Getting into old school digicams with CCD sensors. The Canon S90 is a blast and takes beautiful, colorful photos (see pic). Got a bunch of old Kodak EasyShare cameras from the early- to mid-00s too. Way better than you might think.

Day 1: a friend today encouraged me to try this photo a day thing, so here goes. Here’s a shot of my old Sony Digital #Mavica MVC-FD73. I’ve been watching videos about photography lately and looking into getting back into it as a bit of a hobby, and I’ve come across an interesting trend of “digicams”, where folks are shooting with old digital cameras where the los resolutions or other quirks and eccentricities offer a a nostalgic challenge to work with them to create interesting shots. In inspired me to do dig up the various old #digicams I have and I’m excited to take them out and see what they can do in 2023. i just remembered that the second hand digicam i bought still had old stuff from its digicam so i'll post some stuff on there (the ones without the prev owners faces ofc)

hi! are the images you post altered in any way or raw photos taken with the camera? i’m thinking of getting a nikon coolpix myself!

hi! all of these are unedited. my process is as follows: (i've posted this before, this is the condensed version)

date format set to y/m/d

highest image quality setting

video resolution set to 640x480 & single af (coolpix 3200 autofocus is great for stills but not so great for video)

exposure set to -1.7 (-1.3 or even -1.0 for flash shots in very dark conditions, but 90% of the time -1.7 does the trick)

white balance set to fluorescent preset (for the blue tones)

date imprint set to date only (i used date & time until 2020 but i think it looks cleaner with just the date, ymmv)

one of these days i might make a youtube video getting more in depth about the wonders of the coolpix 3200 & all the splendiferous things that you can do with it. but for now, there's my recipe. the rest is up to you :)
