calling all desi folks !
hello there ! i have been in the rp community for over a decade now on various platforms but it has always been hard to come across fellow desis to write with .
do you want to scream over your favorite ships like rahul - anjali from k3g or build up an alternate world to accomodate the chemistry that was between abhimanyu - rohan in soty ? do you want to talk about latest movies and old nostalgic ones ? across most major indian languages film industries ( telugu · tamil · hindi · kannada · malayalam ) movies , faceclaims and ship dynamics , look no further !
if you're a desi reading this and if you roleplay over at discord or are interested in doing so , like this post or send me a dm !! i would love nothing more than to connect with my fellow desi rp partners !!
full disclosure : admin is 23 and looking to write mostly queer desi ships with folks who are 20+ and desi ! minors do NOT interact .
i don't write as real persons or celebrities , i use faceclaims for original characters instead . a new character will be created for each rp plot / partner . plotting and headcanons are something i really enjoy so that would be fun to focus on as well !
smut can be written but it's a case - by - case basis on who and what i am comfortable with , but otherwise , fade - to - black is the norm . limits and triggers are respected so i request the same of you .
though , if you're simply looking to write females / sub characters only or wanting to use my male characters , then i am not the rp partner for you .
currently looking for m x m ships and plots , but others as well ! can't wait to connect with y'all !
me writing this post to gather us desi in rpc :
Tumblr media
some canon pairings i am open to writing are :
rambheem ( rrr )   devadas ( 2018 )   abhirohan ( student of the year )   vandhiyamozhi ( ponniyin selvan )   devaradha / varadeva ( salaar )   karjay ( rang de basanti )   chittijai : jairava : dhruya ( charak ships )   rolexanbu ( vikram )   johndas ( master )   vikramvedha ( 2017 )
and a whole long damn variety of cross - movie and cross - industry pairings and ships !
for example :   vijay deverakonda x adivi sesh ,   thala ajith x karthi ,   nani x rana daggubati ,   unni mukundan x adivi sesh ,   dhanush x sivakarthikeyan ,   vijay thalapathy x arjun das ,   suriya x nani ,   jr ntr x jayam ravi ,   shah rukh khan x r madhavan ,   vijay thalapathy x surya ,   karthi x akkineni nagarjuna ,   prabhas x jayam ravi ,   ram charan x suriya   and many more !

Devadas movie review
It's a 2018 tollywood movie
This movie was declared a flop in box office but dude it was a movie with a full package. It has comedy, songs, chemistry between the two male leads, story line, emotions..etc etc all were amazing in this movie.
In this story the first male lead is Deva who is a gangster who comes back to the town after someone kills his godfather to know about that person and take revenge. The second lead is Das, a doctor who loves his job and is passionate about saving lives. Deva and Das meet as Deva is injured because of a bullet wound and knowing he is a gangster Das treats him and later both of them become friends. The first female lead is Janvhi who is a reporter whom Deva loves as he saw her on television, in the news channel and the second female lead is Pooja who is a police officer who was handling Deva's case and meets Das in that process.
The movie is fun, entertaining, emotional and is relatable as it looks like it is happening in our real life. The title suites the movie and is funny because it suited the characters.
#fun AF

Rashmika Mandanna: The Rising Star Spanning Indian Cinema
Tumblr media
At the tender age of 27, Rashmika Mandanna has emerged as a dynamic force in Indian cinema, captivating audiences across Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films. Born on April 5, 1996, she has not just made a mark but has etched her name in the industry as a 'Pan-India Actress' and earned the endearing title of the 'National Crush of India'.
Her journey to stardom began with her victory in the Clean & Clear 'Times Fresh Face' competition in 2014, a stepping stone that catapulted her into the limelight. Since then, Rashmika has navigated her way to become one of India's most beloved actors, achieving both critical acclaim and commercial success.
In 2016, Rashmika made her debut in the Kannada film industry with "Kirik Party," a film that not only marked her arrival but also earned her the 'Best Debut Actress-Kannada' award at the South Indian International Movie Awards. Following this triumph, she graced the screens in several blockbuster hits like "Anjaniputra" and "Chamak," garnering accolades and admiration from fans and critics alike.
Her foray into Telugu cinema came with the 2018 romantic drama "Chalo," but it was her role in "Geetha Govindam" opposite Vijay Deverakonda that became a milestone in her career. The success of this film propelled her to win numerous 'Best Actress' awards at prestigious ceremonies including Sri Kala Sudha Telugu Movie Awards, Zee Cine Awards (Telugu), and Filmfare Awards South in 2019.
Rashmika's filmography boasts an impressive array of hits such as "Devadas," "Yajamana," "Sarileru Neekevvaru," and "Bheeshma." Her compelling performance in the Telugu film "Dear Comrade" earned her critical acclaim and the 'Best Actor Critics Choice' award at the 77th Behindwoods Gold Medals in 2019.
In 2021, Rashmika showcased her versatility by featuring in the Hindi music video "Top Tucker" alongside notable artists Badshah, Amit Uchana, Yuvan Shankar Raja, and Jonita Gandhi. Her presence expanded to Tamil cinema with the hit film "Sultan" opposite Karthi and the Kannada film "Pogaru" alongside Dhruva Sarja.
Her ascent to stardom reached greater heights as Rashmika ventured into Bollywood. She is set to make her mark in the Hindi film industry with movies like "Mission Majnu" opposite Sidharth Malhotra and "Goodbye" alongside Amitabh Bachchan, collaborating with big banners like Rsvp, Reliance Entertainment, and Balaji Motion Pictures, respectively.

Innisbrook Resort A Tour-Tested Winner
One word comes to mind when discussing Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Fla. That word is “Copperhead.’’ Regarded as one of the top five courses in Florida—it’s been No. 1 on some lists —Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course is architect Larry Packard’s masterpiece.
It’s a sweeping, larger-than-life centerpiece of this 900-acre resort about 20 miles north of Tampa International Airport and host to the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship, which returns this week. Jordan Spieth began his rise to superstardom with his playoff victory at the 2015 Valspar.
Originally designed by Packard in 1972, Copperhead underwent a total renovation in 2015 that included a new irrigation system, raising the fairways on the second and third holes to improve drainage; re-shaping bunkers; and adding of a set of staircase traps on the 18th hole. The renovation essentially brought the course from the 1970s look and put the fangs back into the Copperhead.
“A tough golf course,’’ Tiger Woods has said of the Copperhead.
How tough? Copperhead’s famed “Snake Pit’’ finishing holes – a 460-yard, par-four, 215-yard, par-three and 455-yard, par-four – are as a good as any finishing holes as on the PGA Tour.
But Innisbrook, owned by Sheila Johnson’s Salamander Hotels & Resorts, is more than just the Copperhead. The resort’s Island, North and South courses each are formidable. As with Copperhead, each course was designed by Packard, who lived at Innisbrook until his death age 101 in 2014.
The Island Course, with its tight fairways (particularly on the first six holes) and water hazards, is a favorite of Innisbrook members. The South Course strays a bit from the standard Florida tree-lined fairways in offering more a links-style feel and look.
The completion of the South Course renovation on 2018 gave each of the greens on the four courses at Innisbrook TifEagle Bermudagrass, which generally stands up well against drought conditions as well as disease.
Approximately 300 of Innisbrook’s 450 member-owned suites (one-  two- and three-bedrooms) have been completely remodeled with new furnishings and brighter colors. Even the full kitchens in each guest suite have been remodeled.
Remodeling  the guest accommodations at Innisbrook Resort is the latest example of Johnson putting her stamp on Innisbrook. Johnson, co-founder of Black Entertainment Television and the first African-American women to achieve a net worth of at least $1 billion, acquired Innisbrook in 2007 for a reported $35 million. It’s now part of a Salamander portfolio that includes Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg, Virginia; The Henderson in Destin, Florida; Hotel Bennett in Charleston, South Carolina; and Hammock Beach in Palm Coast, Florida.
“Innisbrook is a just a great example of a golf resort that we strive to position among the best in class,’’ said Prem Devadas, president of Salamander Hotels & Resorts. “Thanks to renovations that have taken place over the years, the great service that our employees  provide, and the growing stature of the Valspar Championship, Innisbrook has really risen to be among the best golf resorts in the country.’’
Despite its size, Innisbrook is easy to navigate, either by car or via the shuttles that transport guests to and from the clubhouses, Salamander Spa, 11 tennis courts and convention center. Each of the chalet-style lodge buildings at Innisbrook is named after a famous course such as Merion, Augusta and Carnoustie.
The Copperhead clubhouse is home to Packard’s Steakhouse, the resort’s signature dining experience that comes complete with tuxedoed servers (many of whom have been there to 20 years) and a deep menu selection of steak and seafood. Packard’s is one of five dining outlets at the resort. Among the others, The Grill at the Loch Ness pool is a popular summer dining destination for families and kids.
Innisbrook for the past four decades has been one of the Southeast’s more popular convention and business meeting destinations, featuring more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space.
Salamander Spa, meanwhile, features 12 treatment rooms, including a couples room with private fireplace and shower. Innisbrook Director of Instruction Dawn Mercer is one of the country’s top golf teachers.
Located just off bustling Highway 19, Innisbrook is central to many of the Tampa-St. Petersburg area attractions, including Tropicana Field (home of the Tampa Bay Rays) and beaches, including Treasure Island and St. Petersburg Beach.
Palm Harbor has a small restaurant district just a few miles south of Innisbrook (go for the fried oysters at Molly Goodhead’s Raw Bar) and a few miles to the north is the city Tarpon Springs, with its Greek restaurants and sponge docks.

Chandramukhi is one of the pivotal characters in the 1917 Bengali novelDevdas by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. Her character was inspired by the Hindumystical singer Meera, who devoted her life to Lord Krishna; similarly Chandramukhi devoted her life to Devdas.[1] Chandramukhi is portrayed as a hooker with a heart of gold in the novel and its film adaptations.[2] Chandramukhi means 'moon faced' or 'as beautiful as the moon' in Sanskrit.[3]
In the novel[edit]
Chandramukhi is a courtesan who lives in Calcutta also known as Kolkata. She is considered the most beautiful and richest prostitute in the area of Chitpur.[4] She is first introduced to Devdas by Chunnilal, who returns to Calcutta heartbroken after the marriage of Parvathi 'Paro'. Devdas, disgusted over Chandramukhi's profession insults her and leaves her kotha. Chandramukhi, impressed by Devdas's attitude, later falls in love with him after realizing his steadfast love for Paro. She leaves her profession for Devdas and convinces him to marry her; he, however, has to reluctantly reject her offer as he has devoted his life to Paro. In return, Chandramukhi does not force him to be with her but waits patiently for him. Subsequently, she also moves to Ashthajhari village, where she lives in a muddy house located at the bank of a river and helps the needy. After some struggle, she meets with Devdas again, who now accepts her love.
In the film[edit]
Chandrabati Devi as Chandramukhi and Pramathesh Barua as Devdas in the 1935 Bengali filmDevdas
In most of the film adaptations of Devdas, the story of Chandramukhi is similar to the novel. Ibm lotus notes mac. However, in most of the films her humanitarian work in helping the needy is not depicted. Unlike in the novel, a scene in which Chandramukhi and Parvathi meet was added in Bimal Roy's 1955 version when Paro, played by Suchitra Sen riding in a human rickshaw, comes across Chandramukhi, played by Vyjayanthimala, who just stares at Paro without a single word being exchanged between them.[5] The meeting scene of Paro and Chandramukhi in the 1955 version was still regarded as one of the memorable scene in Bollywood with the background music adding the impact to the scene.[6] In the 2002 version, the director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, extended the interaction between Paro and Chandramukhi, also showing them dancing together to the hit song 'Dola Re Dola'.[7]

Social impact[edit]
Chandramukhi is one of the first characters in an Indian novel to deal with prostitution.[9] She was often depicted as a prostitute with a heart of gold.[10] The character of Chandramukhi had paved the way for other portrayals of prostitutes in films like Sadhna, Pyaasa and Pakeezah.[11] Actresses such as Nargis, Suraiya and Bina Rai refused to enact the role of a prostitute in the 1955 film of Devdas, which later went to Vyjayanthimala.[12]
Tumblr media
Legacy[edit]
Chandramukhi was well-received in India by critics. In 2006, Rediff listed Chandramukhi in their list of 'Bollywood's Best Tawaif'.[13]Nikhat Kazmi of The Times of India also ranked Chandramukhi at #5 in his list 'Tart with a heart', saying that 'The egotistical Paro may have given her boy friend the goby, but self-sacricficing Chandramukhi was willing to put everything on hold — her livelihood too — for her lover'.[14]

Awards[edit]
Riverbed nightmare pathfinder. There are many actresses who have portrayed Chandramukhi in film adaptations of Devdas. The first notable award was won by Vyjayanthimala in 1956 when she won the Filmfare Awards, known as Bollywood's Oscar,[15] in the Supporting Actress category. However, she was also the first person to decline the award, as she thought that her role was not a supporting one but was of equal importance and parallel to that of Parvathy in the 1955 version.[16] Other actresses who played Chandramukhi in Hindi versions of the novel have also won this award.[13]
The following are awards and nominations received by actresses who have played the role of Chandramukhi in film:
