#RG @harvarddentalmed Meet Priscilla Opoku-Yeboah from the Class of 2026. Graduating from the University of Virginia, she majored in government and minored in religious studies. As a medical anthropology research assistant, she explored how social determinants impacted Ugandans' access to certain kinds of treatment for substance abuse. At HSDM, Opoku-Yeboah hopes to further explore how social determinants of health interact with dentistry. "The integration of medicine with dentistry in the HSDM curriculum was very appealing to me. I recognize that my future patients are more than their teeth and gums. Their mouths are connected to other systems in their body. And as an aspiring dentist, I think I have a responsibility to learn and deeply appreciate those connections," she said. "I spent time as an undergraduate participating in medical anthropology research. This research made me very passionate about understanding the way social determinants of health creep into the clinical space. And I hope at HSDM I can continue to explore new ideas related to this topic." Welcome to HSDM Priscilla! #HSDM #HSDM2026 #HarvardDentalMed #WelcomeToHarvard #DentalStudents https://www.instagram.com/p/ChAbEgiuUlY/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I passed first year exams few months ago .Ever since that, I've been taking my time to relieve from the trauma that first year caused , taking care of myself mentally and physically.
Nothing really changed since second year begun . It's the same old stress, and in no time , there comes my first internal exams of second year ( in a week ).
Today is a Sunday , sat down to study pathology , and so far so good.

My 61 day study challenge. Just to motivate and discipline myself for my finals coming in December. ☃️
Blogging for my sophomore dentistry finals , 61 days to go. I'm just done with my internal exams and felt violated that I know nothing about prosthodontics and conservative dentistry. My med school isn't going well either so to discipline myself and to become a better dentist , I'm gonna blog to keep things in track and build an audience to watch me discipline myself. Hope my adhd ass finishes this task.🍦

Pediatric orthodontists are specialists who work with children to help them achieve a straight smile. The key goal for this type of patient is early identification and subsequent correction or prevention before braces can be effective, which means the sooner you bring your child in after noticing misaligned teeth issues on their own (even if they don't hurt), then much more likely we'll know what's wrong so that treatment may start right away!

Achieve Excellence with Superior Dental Crown Solutions
Dental crowns are a versatile and effective solution for restoring damaged teeth, improving aesthetics, and enhancing overall oral health. Our superior dental crown solutions are designed to provide long-lasting, natural-looking results that help you achieve excellence in your dental care. Whether you need to strengthen a weakened tooth, cover a dental implant, or improve the appearance of your smile, our dental crowns offer the perfect solution.
Benefits of Dental Crowns
1. Restored Functionality: Dental crowns restore the strength and functionality of damaged or decayed teeth, allowing you to chew and speak with confidence.
2. Enhanced Aesthetics: Crafted from high-quality materials, our dental crowns are designed to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth, providing a seamless and attractive appearance.
3. Protection and Durability: Crowns provide a protective covering for weakened teeth, preventing further damage and decay. They are durable and can last for many years with proper care.
4. Versatility: Dental crowns can be used for a variety of purposes, including covering a dental implant, supporting a dental bridge, protecting a tooth after a root canal, or improving the appearance of discolored or misshapen teeth.
5. Boosted Confidence: By restoring your smile's appearance and functionality, dental crowns can significantly boost your confidence and improve your quality of life.
Our Dental Crown Process
1. Initial Consultation: The process begins with a comprehensive examination and consultation with our dental professionals. We assess your oral health and discuss your specific needs and goals.
2. Customized Treatment Plan: Based on the consultation, we develop a personalized treatment plan that outlines the best type of dental crown for your situation, whether it be porcelain, ceramic, metal, or porcelain-fused-to-metal.
3. Tooth Preparation: The affected tooth is carefully prepared by removing a small amount of enamel to make room for the crown. This ensures a perfect fit and secure placement.
4. Impressions and Fabrication: We take precise impressions of your teeth, which are sent to a dental laboratory to create your custom crown. During this time, a temporary crown may be placed to protect the prepared tooth.
5. Fitting and Placement: Once your custom crown is ready, we carefully fit and adjust it to ensure a perfect fit and comfortable bite. The crown is then permanently cemented into place.
6. Follow-Up Care: After the crown is placed, we provide detailed care instructions and schedule follow-up appointments to ensure the crown is functioning properly and that you are satisfied with the results.
Types of Dental Crowns
1. Porcelain Crowns: Known for their natural appearance, porcelain crowns are ideal for front teeth and areas where aesthetics are a primary concern.
2. Ceramic Crowns: Similar to porcelain crowns, ceramic crowns offer excellent aesthetics and are also biocompatible, making them a great choice for patients with metal allergies.
3. Metal Crowns: Made from gold, palladium, or other metal alloys, these crowns are extremely durable and are typically used for molars and teeth that endure heavy chewing forces.
4. Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal (PFM) Crowns: Combining the strength of metal with the natural appearance of porcelain, PFM crowns offer a balance of durability and aesthetics.
5. Zirconia Crowns: Made from a strong, biocompatible material, zirconia crowns offer both durability and aesthetics, making them a popular choice for both front and back teeth.
Why Choose Our Dental Crown Solutions?
1. Experienced Professionals: Our team of skilled dentists has extensive experience in providing dental crown solutions, ensuring you receive the best possible care.
2. High-Quality Materials: We use only the highest quality materials for our dental crowns, ensuring durability, comfort, and a natural appearance.
