I just love to think about the fact that Neil and Andrew are finally happy and safe together. That Andrew isn’t scared to touch Neil or let Neil touch him. That they are completely honest with each other. How they feel safe and comfortable enough to show their love for each other in private or in the eyes of their friends/family. That they have cats.

Aftg deserves so much more attention. It's such a unique blend of genres and the writing (despite coming from an unreliable narrator -Neil-) depicts trauma so well. ALSO THE ONLY BOOK IVE READ WITH DEMI REPRESENTATION. It’s also good representation. Like you don’t know the romance is coming and neither does Neil.

You follow Neil throughout his first year at Palmetto being just as unaware as himself and I think it’s wonderful.

I think there’s something in the series for everyone. A lot of us in the fandom focus our attention on andreil, but there is so much more to the series if you aren’t keen on the romance. It’s a found family, sports, drama, and emotional turmoil. You get to grow with Neil as he learns to live not just survive, which I think is a big reminder for a lot of us dealing with depression, anxiety, and trauma.

Anyways, rant over. Make all your friends read it. Explaining the plot to someone does make you sound a little crazy, but that’s okay :))
