Everyone, I made a 14000+ word, 4 chapter fic about Della on the moon on Archive of Our Own.
(It’s very sad look at tags for TWs)
I genuinely love her so much and wanted to write about her. She gets an insane amount of hate (from what I’ve seen) but her, plus Louie, are such comfort characters for me.

Louie and Della's development (long post)
In honor of Louie and Della Day (which I'm a day late for), I thought I'd post my favorite scenes:
I always found it very interesting that in 'The Secret of Castle McDuck', Louie was the most upset and affected by Dewey keeping his investigation and findings about their mom a secret (and I love how it clearly sounds like he's holding back tears; fantastic reading by Bobby Moynihan).
Tumblr media
"You kept a secret about Mom."
Tumblr media
"That is not ok."
And when Della came back in 'Nothing Can Stop Della Duck', he thought it was way too good to be true, thinking it was "a trick, or a curse from Magica, or a parallel universe" (and it was perfect how the most street-smart and shifty triplet was immediately on his guard- because like he said in another episode, "You can't outcon a con"- and the thing is, his concerns were totally valid and not that farfetched after everything they've seen and experienced with Scrooge):
Tumblr media
And I love how he couldn't keep up his reservations for more than a few seconds before tearfully embracing her with his brothers:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Mom!"
And... ngl, that's why I hate how Louie immediately goes back to being skeptical, reserved, and forcing himself to be emotionally distant throughout nearly the rest of the episode, even after Della spoke from the bottom of her heart (before she began trying to bond with them):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Boys, I don't know what to say. Except that I am so sorry I ever set foot on that rocket. I never meant to leave you... or miss your first steps... or potty-training..."
Tumblr media
"What I'm trying to say is... for a decade, I have fought to get back to this family. And I will fight every day to be a part of it, if you'll have me."
Tumblr media
Louie is still uncertain, and starts to say "I- I-" but the others eagerly embrace her and declare them to be a family again.
Tumblr media
It always bothers me that Dewey had to force Louie's hand on top of Della's.
Tumblr media
*Still speaking from her heart* "I missed you so much! You deserve to have the best mom and I'm going to be the best mom, starting right now!"
And YES, before anyone says it, I do get why Louie felt the way he did, especially being the most independent and cynical triplet:
Tumblr media
"Hey, look, don't get me wrong. Of course I'm happy to have Mom back. I don't know, it's probably my fault... I've gone so long without a mom, I guess I don't really know how to have one?"
His feelings are absolutely understandable and valid, and she was still basically a stranger to him at that point- I mean, Donald kept them in the dark about their mom and her legacy (their whole family legacy) all their lives, and it took finding out their brother was secretly investigating her for him and Huey to find out more about her and the Spear of Selene- but it still disappoints me after how upset he was about Dewey keeping secrets about her, how he was so quick to emotionally accept her right after being so instinctively skeptical at first, and after her emotional, earnest speech to them.
It bothers me that it took her risking her life to save Louie to prove herself to him, or to realize she truly does care. Like, not only is she a veteran adventurer, but she's their mom- ofc she'd do that without thinking twice about it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I absolutely love her end speech and Louie's response. It didn't feel like a rehash of her speech from earlier in the episode, when you think about the conversation she overheard about them struggling to come to terms with having her in their lives (especially how Louie was the most skeptical):
Tumblr media
"Huey. Dewey. Louie. I know you're not used to having a mom. And I am not used to being one. But I'll figure it out as we go along."
Tumblr media
Louie: "We all will."
And I always get emotional during their conversation in the season 2 finale, "Moonvasion". It felt like not only a perfect conclusion to Louie's arc in that season, but the development of his and Della's relationship (including after all unfortunate drama starting in 'Timephoon') . Scared for their future because of the Moonvasion, Della is sadly humming her old lulaby as she looks at her drawing of her boys. Louie notices she's alone and apparently not doing so great, and actually feels comfortable enough to approach her about it:
Tumblr media
"Hey, Mom."
"I drew this back when I had to imagine what you boys looked like."
Tumblr media
"I think you really nailed Dewey."
Tumblr media
"On the moon, all I could think about was being your mom. The adventure, the fun. I wasn't prepared for... all this."
Tumblr media
Louie: "Look, I hate surprises. I like seeing every angle of a situation so I can take control of it. But you can't plan for everything... sometimes a robot boy uses you for a pinata."
Della: "I think I'm losing the thread here..."
Tumblr media
Louie: "But sometimes the mom you thought you lost comes back. And that's a surprise too. So, you deal with bad surprises because they may lead to a good one."
Tumblr media
"But what if Lunaris succeeds? What if I lose you again? What if-"
Tumblr media
"You know, when I'm terrified- which is often- I try to remember this old song:
Tumblr media
Face each new sun with eyes clear and true.
Unafraid of the unknown-"
Tumblr media
Della: -"Because I'll face it all with you."
Tumblr media
"I wrote that song before I got lost. How did you hear it?"
"Well, Uncle Donald used to sing it to us when we were little."
Not only does it beautifully fulfill the development in their relationship and allow them to move past the drama between them, not only does Louie reach incredible growth in his maturity, but it's Louie being the parent to Della... comforting her and offering her reassurance (and I love Louie showing a moment of weakness/vulnerability in admitting he often gets scared, which is not easy for him). A perfect way to conclude the second season, Louie's arc, and the development of Della's return to the family.

Tell us about the animation of DuckTales, Ms. Boot
gee thanks for asking!
Western animation is shot on 2s, right? For every second you see, there's 24 frames of images. Instead of flashing 24 different drawings, generally, each picture is held for two frames, so there's only 12 drawings in a second. One drawing held for two frames. Another drawing for two frames. Another drawing, etc.
For Della's jump/walk cycle on the moon, in big jumps at the peak of her arc they move her to 1s, which is what gives her that SUPER cool suspension. The fight scene with the mite, during her Action Sequences TM they move her to 1s, which is what gives her that super badass, sleek movement (the wall-run, running up the mite, etc). The lasers, too, are on 1s, which makes them look so smooth and alien. So Penumbra, Lunaris, and the guns themselves are on 2s, but the energy blasts are 1s.
When Della comes back to earth and does her jump face-first into the gate? 2's. Dumb earth gravity.
idk but I thought that was really cool.

Ducktales Fics
~ long but good edition ~
Masks within Masks by Kyprish_Prophetess
• super long but I love it…. I never regret picking up this book ever ever ever.
• Donald Duck personas all into one fic… glorious
• got me into PKNA comics and I will never regret that
• author is amazing and constantly updates on this thing and I love that
• I started reading this when it had around 61 chapters and now it has 81… :,) they grow up so fast…
And a Sixpence in Your Shoe by justaboot
• I’m a scroldie fanatic and there is like a few mentions of Goldie and one appearance yet she’s omnipresent… it’s the vibes!!
• HEAVY family hurt/comfort… especially Della and Scrooge. But it’s cool ‘cause they defeat the villain and it’s a big party we love that.
• once again I have reread this thing at least 4 times. Never regretted.
• I am obsessed with every masterpiece posted by justaboot. Obsessed. Every little character arc gives me a heart attack then I’m comforted with fluff.

btw idk if the people are ready for this but I look at Louie Duck and I see "child with undiagnosed chronic illness". I also did not like to do things I strictly didn't have to, whether it was small stuff like getting up to get myself another drink, or bigger stuff like playing games, wrestling, or day/road trips. I didn't really run or like camping or adventuring the way my siblings and classmates did.
I just figured I was a lazy person until I started to get really sick in high school and got my juvenile amplified pain / fibromyalgia disorder. THEN I realized that, no, I had just been experiencing low-grade symptoms like fatigue, amplified pain, and vertigo ever since I was little (along with adhd and anxiety symptoms of course) without realizing that it wasn't normal.
So not to get all overly deep about it but I look at a kid who doesn't have the energy or desire to keep up with the kids around him, who feels that his strengths lie in hanging back and observing first rather than jumping right into the action, and I think, yeah, me too. when you only have so much energy, of COURSE you're going to be breaking down the most efficient way to get things done, because some days ever ly step counts. of course you're emotional; your body is pumping adrenaline all the time and it exhausts you, and you are constantly in need of a nap, and it makes you feel super cranky sometimes.
so to have someone say, "hey, I see you, and I see you have different strengths and weaknesses than the other kids, so let's see what we can do to help you succeed?" that's HUGE (<- most dangerous game night). feeling like you can't contribute because nobody realizes what's different about you, not even you? yeah you internalize that. it's isolating.
there was a period of time where I was really, really struggling to do things that were considered basic for me, and it took awhile of my family just not understanding what was happening until I finally got it through that something was wrong. it wasn't that they didn't care, it just took awhile for us to help each other understand, and I see that in the s2 arc, too. Della and Louie are having trouble communicating to each other what they need and why it's important, and Della is finally able to be like "I see you, too, and I'm here to help you, and also to help you learn to help yourself, so you can really find your role in this family." and Louie is able to reciprocate that and say "you're right, I'll help you understand what I'm seeing and we'll work together". like dude I've had countless conversations with MY mom that went just like that
idk. chronic illness lense man. and everything is about Louie Duck all the time.

So I finished DuckTales (2017), my thoughts:
⚠️ Spoilers ahead ⚠️
- Bradford Buzzard:
His feelings for hating adventure and chaos is valid but he should have told his grandma to fuck off and got therapy instead of trying to destroy it. Also its not his fault that Della took the Spear of Selene even if he told her about it.
You can’t have one thing without the other, there must be chaos if there is stability and vice versa.
- Webbigail Vanderquack and Bentina Beakly (Agent 22):
It was a good twist, but it makes me question where FOWL got Scrooge’s DNA to make Webby and why her exact clones (sisters) aren’t perceived as Scrooges kid like Webby is.
My theory: “The Papyrus of Binding only appears to a direct heir of Scrooge McDuck” I think it mean’s physically and emotionally. If June and May are Webby’s clones that means they are just as much Scrooge’s physical child as Webby is, except they don’t have a relationship with Scrooge. Scrooge even before knowing Webby was his kid thought of her like his Grandniece, like family, making her an heir like the boys.
For how much Beakly talked about how important and strong a family is together when getting the boys to talk to Scrooge again in Season 1, it doesn’t make much sense to have her go in alone without informing the family of what she knows of FOWL from SHUSH.
Goldie O’Gilt:
I love her so much, except in the ImpossiBin episode, there she was okay. At the end of the ImpossiBin episode Goldie calls Scooge assuming he took the fountain of youth when they agreed to keep it for both of them, (she went back to steal it for herself so she says). They made progress in the Youth Fountain episode and having Goldie call him about it being gone kinda defeats the whole purpose of their bonding in that episode. Except I understand they needed a character to tell him it was gone like the other missing mysteries but I find it defeated the whole point.
Lena and Violet Saberwing:
To me it looked like Violet’s parents adopted Lena and I’m all for that. Also love the hinted gay rep with their dads.
Magica De spell:
While it was Scrooge that blocked her spell, it was still her spell that she shot that turned her brother into a raven. Theres no reason or obligation for Scrooge to have caught him and give him to her when they were both terrible people. If anything her brother got a new chance at life as a raven instead.
I wish there was kinda a redemption arc when she was training Lena, if not for Lena a little redemption for Gladstone because I like those two.
Fenton Crackshell (GizmoDuck) and DarkWing Duck:
I like Drake with Fenton regardless if he’s Drake or playing DarkWing but I feel like he needs to accept that GizmoDuck is also a hero. Bro needs to know the difference between hero and vigilante.
Fenton is pretty bbg too <3
Launchpad McQuack:
Giant himbo and I love him so much.
Daisy Duck:
Love her, not much else to say. She had standards, that was clear when we heard what she said while driving away from their second date except she still fell in love and was willing to put up with Donald enough to go rescue him and keep going out. Overall a girl boss <3
Huey, Dewey and Louie:
While Dewey should have come forward earlier about looking for Della I understand his intentions more then Huey did when he found out. Louie was right, its not okay, but in the beginning Dewey was just trying to find if she was alive or not, not where she was. He was sorry because he ‘got caught’, he was genuinely sorry. It’s difficult to want to tell someone you’re finding all this stuff about someone you all seek when none of you know if they’re even alive or not. Dewey didn’t want them to lose hope that Della may be alive even if he found out she might not have. Yes he should have told them but I understand he didn’t want to them to be more hurt that she’s unalive instead of just missing. Also they aren’t even teenagers and communication skills are ass with teenagers what makes you think they’ll be any better as 10 year olds?
Again, their anger is misplaced when they’re mad at Scrooge for building a Spear of Selene.
Scrooge McDuck (sugar daddy?):
I like his character and I feel theres a bit of development through out the show with him and the kids, to be a teacher you need to be able to learn from your students.
While yes, he shouldn’t have built the rocket right there he also didn’t tell Della about it. Not his fault she left. Also the audacity to find out it wasn’t really his fault or the fact he nearly went bankrupt looking for her and they didn’t apologize at all.
Donald Duck (DILF):
Literally the best man in the whole show. He put his family first the whole time even when he should have taken breaks except he stepped up. We know that he had some form of falling out with Scrooge because of Della but even so he stepped up to take the kids and stayed in DuckBurg instead of moving anytime in the 10+ years they lived there. I have a feeling they stayed because he knew deep down that he could somewhat still count on Scrooge if not Beakly. Why else would he have stayed and gone to Beakly to watch the kids, granted he didn’t want to talk to Scrooge, Scrooge still took them in and watched them while Donald was off getting a job.
Donald may not be their bio-dad, but he is no way a fucking Uncle. He raised those boys by himself for 10+ years, through their formative years and until they were old enough to know he wasn’t their bio-dad. He stepped in to be a parent because Della chickened out and chose to go to space even when he told her she shouldn’t so she can be with her kids.
Donald Duck, not an uncle, a father.
Della Duck (cool-ish weird Aunt):
My opinion has not changed, she still isn’t a mother to me. Della is an estranged aunt that comes by and is the ‘cool aunt’. She willingly, without obligation, without threat, consciously CHOSE to leave her kids. Regardless of if she knew she would get killed or stuck in space, “there were too many variables” -Huey. She had a fight with Donald that specifically told her that it was a giant, dumb fucking idea with kids on the way. The idea that anyone would accept her back as a parent so blindly is so dumb. Yes she’s their egg-layer, but there is no way in hell she is their mother. A MOTHER would never choose to leave their children unless they positively fucking had too (obligation for safety). Whether or not she regrets it holds no power because she still chose to leave for a stupid reason.
Season 1 finale: “Get away from my kids” by Donald Duck will forever hold more power and significance then anytime she ever says it because she gave up parent rights before they were born. No parent would willingly, without valid cause like their safety (not fucking exploring space for funzys) would leave their child.
Over all:
Scrooge and Donald are DILFS and Della can get bent.

🔥 Louie Duck's character arch?
Send Me a 🔥+ a Topic, and I’ll Tell You My Honest Opinion About It
Tumblr media
It coulda been so much better. It was shaky at best a lot of the time.
We've all heard me yell about the grounding. How it was badly enforced, how the circumstances were fucky, etc. You can look back on the ducktales analysis tag and hear me caterwaul, so I'll avoid that part of the topic.
The point of Louie's arc is that he's supposed to learn that family is more important than money. But Louie?? Fucking knew that??? One of his core, key season 1 lines is "You kept a secret about mom. That is not okay." He sobs when his brothers fight. He got Gavin out of his house for free, and did it in a way that kept Huey and Dewey happy. Louie cares about his family. He's never once put money before his family. He usually puts them side by side, before giving up the gold to get away.
They give no reason for Louie's greediness and that makes it feel more difficult to work around. Is it a casual, playful want bc he likes toys? Is it a deep, consuming need because he grew up in a household that didn't always have the lights on and food was hotdogs thrice a week? It's never stated. We can't be sure of how deep the problem lies and where the boundaries should start. He's just supposed to know it's Bad and Give it Up and Move On. Louie's ten. Ten year olds don't want monetary safety for no reason. The kid needs therapy, and comfort, and to be weaned off that stuff. Going cold turkey is a great way to give him anxiety.
And move on to what, exactly? No one tries to give him any outlets to work on. He doesn't like adventures like the rest of his family. Dewey gets Launchpad and flying and Huey gets Boyd and helping Gizmoduck. Louie gets Goldie and Louie Inc, which is then closed. He gets Goldie, but Goldie is transient and isn't around often. His only friend is literally an old lady who steals from him. His only time working is Louie Inc, which is taken from him.
The closest thing to working outside a con he's allowed is when he calls Della out. So... what? His job is to keep his family honest? Why not give him a job, a place to start, a goal to work for? Instead it's No, Bad Louie, you should know better somehow. He has no options, he has no friends, and he has no outlet for his need for financial gain.

Meaning of the stems of the words for "rainbow" in the languages of Europe.
by u/nickanc
'Rainbow' is typically a compound word in most European languages. Generally, speaking, a part of the word comes from words meaning bow, belt, ring, circle or arc in their respective languages or ancestor languages. The other one varies and is the main concern of this work.
Some incomplete notes on the meanings and the etymologies I gathered while making the map:
'sky god' + 'arc/bow':
Arabic from Quzah, a pre-islamic deity of weather
Maltese from Maltese alla 'god', from Allah, the islamic deity,
Karelian from Ukko, Finnic sky god
Lithuanian from Vaiva, goddess of Baltic mythology
Armenian is uncertain, supposed to derive ultimately from PIE *dyew- 'shine'
from PS *dǫga "bow". they all are not compounds, except maybe for Russian
'rain/flow'+'bow/arc':
Germanic ones but faroese from PG *regnaburô 'rainbow' obvious compound, *burô comes from PIE *bhewgh-
Faroese æla means shower (as in weather), formerly "flow quickly", from PG *ēlaz "eel"
Finnish from Proto-Finnic *satadak "fall, rain"
Irish and Scot Gaelic are compound words in their very language, there are many other interesting Irish words.
'arc of the old lady' and 'circus bibit', 'arcus bibit'. In some ancient folklore tales, that appear in various IE families, various weather phenomena are especially linked with magical or religious figures that assume the form of old ladies. In Italian and Romanian folklore there are the 'giorni della vecchia'/'zilele babelor' that are the days 29th-31st of March, when the cold is expected to return. In Romania an old lady is Baba Dochia that brings forth the spring and various other Babele populate the Romanian folklore; in the Gallo-italic folklore of Italy there is a folklore fog spirit named Borda that is an old lady personifying the fog, Gaelic mythology has its weather old lady Cailleach, the Indian summer is called in German Altweibersommer lit. 'old women's summer'. The rainbow is no exception: Plautus in the Curculio hints at a folktale of an old lady that drinks "like" the rainbow does or maybe is the rainbow itself, hence also other etymologies for rainbow related to expressions like "circus bibit", "arcus bibit", "arcus imbibens" etc.that give etymologies in various languages. Venetian arcombé and Ladin ergabuan come from arcus imbibiens (source), whereas Romanian curcubeu likely from curvus bibit and Neapolitan arcovevere from arcus bibit. Note that expressions containing the rainbow and the old lady or the act of drinking exist in many languages in this map and their dialects, just they are not the common word for rainbow. For example, in Moldovan there is brîul babei that means 'rainbow' (source), Slovenia has the dialectal word pijâvka 'rainbow' from PS *piti 'to drink', while in Spain and Portugal dialectal expressions that are cognates of the Galician one are apparently common, in Czech there is an idiom pije jak duha that means 'drink like a rainbow', i.e. being a drunkard. Ultimately all what I found points to a 1952 article of Gerhard Rohlfs, Romanischer Volksglaube um die Vetula, which however I was not able to find. EDIT: The Hungarian word is linked to the image of drinking the rainbow too, see below.
'thunder'+'arc' or 'arc'+'thunder':
Estonian is apparently cognate with Livonian pit'kiz kor(?) 'rainbow', lit. 'thunder bow', according to this source, though this comment offers more insight on the origin of the word.
Italian arcobaleno where baleno means flash, thunder, apparently from balena, 'whale', due to a popular habit to make many phenomena zoomorphic or anthropomorphic (the map I posted for fog in northern Italy presents a similar case with she-wolves). Alternatively, there is an article supposedly connecting the words of the 4. with arcobaleno: they suggest that, at some stages of the languages and the sociocultural development, the old lady was an old lady of the sea, thus a whale and their witness would be Galician vella 'old lady' which - according to that article - is a word that could mean also whale. The article is aimed ultimately to strengthen the Paleolithic Continuity Theory, so probably there is little to no scientific consensus on it, though at least I hope their examples are not as disputed as their conclusions.
color: teal. from word meaning "rain":
Polish from(?) OCS тѫча 'rain' and cognate with Russian ту́ча 'rain cloud'
Northern Sami related with Northern Sami arvedálki 'rainy weather'
Basque: 'horn of the sky' or 'sky god's horn', from Basque Urtzi
'arc'+figure of Christian religious figure (Saint John, Saint Martin, Saint Mark, Noah, the Virgin). The choice of the figure seems related to the days of these saints (St. Martin is during the Indian summer, related to 4.), though I have not that much experience on the topic to ascertain that. Noah is clearly linked with rain.
color: green. literally 'arc'+'holy woods', from Proto-Celtic *nemētom, cognate to Latin nemus 'wood' from PIE *nem- 'give, take' source, apparently suggesting a sacred role for the rainbow in Celtic traditions.
Curiosity, not sure if or how it is related to 9. and the other words conveying a sacred meaning for rainbow: in southern Italy, the rainbow was superstitiously considered the cause of jaundice, as màlë du uàrchë is jaundice (source]

DT17 Anniversary Posting
So I've heard around the cafeteria that there's a theme for today centered around people's favorite episodes. Well, I don't have [a] favorite episode. But I can narrow it down to 1 per season, so let's go with that.
(P.S. if you were tagged in this post it's because I gave you cool people a shoutout at the end.)
S1: The Last Crash of the Sunchaser!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I first watched this show, this episode was the one where I realized things were serious. This wasn't just a funny duck show. It's definitely still funny and a duck show, but it's so much more than that.
On Disney+, this episode comes right after Lena is possessed by Magica, so my mind was 100% on that heading in. Instead, we got the resolution to Dewey's arc and the mystery of Della Duck... or so we thought!
Sure, we found out Della's fate, but that was almost secondary to the family drama, especially between Dewey and Scrooge. It's very intense, and even when we get the answers we're looking for, the questions all change.
I don't need to explain why this episode is good. It just is. The fact that I picked this episode, and not a Lena-centric one, shows how good it is.
S2: A Nightmare on Killmotor Hill!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright fine. One Lena episode.
After Lena was brought back in "Friendship Hates Magic!", the question was, where do we go from here? I think they handled it very well, integrating her back into the kids' friend group while still letting the effects of Magica's abuse linger on.
I really enjoy the idea of characters' dreams showing their deepest fears and desires. The kind of stuff they would otherwise stash away when they're awake. This episode took that concept and sprinted with it.
I still think we ought to have had more sleepover episodes with all of the kiddos. When everybody is fighting for screen time in Season 3, this episode shows how you can balance several characters at once, even if Lena was the one getting the majority of the attention. The "Swanstantine" episode is another good example of this.
I mean, come on. We got Webby dressing herself up as Scrooge McDuck as soon as she realized she could do whatever she wanted. It was foreshadowed from the beginning!
S3: Astro B.O.Y.D.!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've talked about this one before. It's one of my favorite pieces of autism rep. Boyd's journey in this episode really resonated, as well as his relationship with Huey.
In my opinion, the best part about it is how Huey relates to Boyd. Specifically not because he's a robot, but how Huey sees him as just a kid, just like him. The robot part is more of a neat quirk than anything. He's wired differently, literally, but they deserve a chance to be themselves.
And I appreciate how "Astro-B.O.Y.D!" gives Boyd a purpose as a character. I thought the bit in the Doofus episode where the villains try to pull the same con as Louie was fun, but Boyd didn't feel like much of a character, or at least no more of one than Sharkbomb was.
So "Astro-B.O.Y.D!" takes a character that very well could have had a one-off bit role, and made him something special. Made him somebody that a viewer can relate to, just as Huey did in the episode. Even just for 22 minutes, Boyd felt special. I felt special. I felt seen.
So yeah, that's my three. The fact that I can sit here and ramble about a half-decade old show that ended before I found it, is really cool. I'm so glad to have the chance to hang out with everybody here, whether we're discussing the best show in the history of time or doing literally anything else.
Shoutout to the people rallying the troops for today's anniversary... @secret-tester @justaboot @alexcanine @boingodigitalart @yeyeducks @cookieruby @the-richest-duck ... and to everyone else who's participated not just today but any day. We wouldn't be a community without the fine folks in it.

DuckTales THEORY: Team Who?
Tumblr media
Hello Duckblr! We know that in DuckTales 2017, Huey, Dewey and Webby have their own definite cliques, but what if this idea were to extend to each of the six Duck children in hypothetical future seasons?
TLDR: If DuckTales kept going on, we would have seen more Louie/Doofus/Goldie episodes. May's interrogative side can blend her in with the Rescue Rangers.
Team Science (Huey)
Huey's group of allies usually revolves around working on scientific breakthroughs and his hero, Gizmoduck. Huey stories would usually involve these specific characters:
Gyro Gearloose
Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera (Gizmoduck)
Manny
BOYD
Gandra Dee
Huey's enemy is usually Mark Beaks, a businessman who makes his living off dumb and/or stolen ideas, which is totally against his moral code. If executed better, Dr. Akita could make a better contender.
Team Action (Dewey)
Dewey's group of allies usually revolves around getting into dangerous situations, definitely not due to the influence of Launchpad or his very own mother, Della. Dewey stories would usually involve these specific protagonists:
Launchpad McQuack
Della Duck
Drake Mallard (DW)
Gosalyn Waddlemeyer (an extension of DW)
Kit and Molly
Dewey's enemy is usually Don Karnage, a deranged air pilot who will go to any lengths to gain vengeance on him. Falcon Graves has also appeared in Dewey stories, a serious contender for his showboating.
Team Scheme (Louie)
Despite being shown to be a charmer in the show, Louie falls flat when it comes to making secure friends, especially when it's in his nature that he is the 'evil triplet' of the Duck boys. However, the cunning antihero, Goldie O'Gilt is quite fond of him. Louie stories would definitely involve these specific characters:
Goldie O'Gilt
Doofus Drake
Ottoman Brothers (placeholder because they're always in the background of Louie stories)
Although Louie completely destroyed Glomgold in S2, I'd love to see Rockerduck as his enemy, as the Wild West Swindler has a more interesting way to battle - with his words, instead of his fists.
Team Magic (Webby/April)
Webby's group of allies usually revolves around trying to fix the curses laid out from Scrooge's adventures, or his most powerful enemy, Magica De Spell. Webby stories would usually involve these specific characters:
Lena Sabrewing
Violet Sabrewing
Blackarts Beagle (redemption arc??)
Phantom Blot and Pepper (maybe they're forced to team-up??)
Morgana (placeholder because they don't have a grown-up hero)
Webby and Lena's enemy is usually Magica De Spell, a witch who wants to use her powers to abuse and take advantage of others, completely opposite to how Webby wants to play.
Team Mystery (May)
Despite the wishes of her current guardian, Donald Duck, I could see May get into contact with her ilk, also experimented on by FOWL - no other than the Rescue Rangers themselves!
Chip and Dale
Gadget Hackwrench
Monterey Jack
Zipper
...and maybe Detective Gokart from the comics (a loser that May could help to become a better person)
Perhaps the Rescue Rangers have found a larger FOWL experiment gone rogue and they need a heroine around their size to help bring the experiment to justice.
Team ??? (June)
Team Sports? Team Wellbeing? Team Theatre? Team Adorable? It seems that poor June is the only one I can't think of for a team.
By process of elimination, the only frequent group of protagonists without a child character to support them are the gods/goddesses of Ithaquack.
Bum Bum Ghigno, an everyday person from the comics might help her appreciate the normal and might draw parallels between the clone twins and his relationship with his brother.
I'd love to put the Idle Hour Club from Donald's first ever cartoon somewhere, but those stories wouldn't be fun.
