a family forged in curses – satoru gojo x reader
a/n: sorry i haven't been writing work has been burning me out and i've been playing the sims in my free time to cope wc: 3.2k you and satoru get called to the office after an incident with megumi at school. fluff, mama bear reader, talks of child neglect ((no one is neglected)), tsumikiii and megumiii best siblings. think i went off too hard with the principal idk why i was pressed
Tumblr media
satoru gojo sat in one of the stiff chairs of the principal’s office. heavy glands of sweat formed on his temple and slipped down to the hem of his uniform shirt. he braced the clamminess of his hands against the curve of the leather armrest. the air was thick, and as his chest heaved he inhaled the tension that constricted his throat with a tight burn. the fear was unfamiliar, spurring on the unsettling agitation of his stomach.
megumi was seated behind him, seemingly just as terrified– his eyes blown wide in horror as he stared at the black and blue knuckles laid in his lap. there was a dried bloodstain on his thumb, taunting him. he covered it with his opposite hand.
it was a nice day outside, the sun was shining and it wasn’t too hot or too cold. sunlight filled the room and reflected off of the finish of the principal’s wooden desk.
“these recent developments in megumi’s behavior, truly, are just detestable. i truly can’t say i’ve seen anything like it in the years i’ve worked at this school.”
satoru’s eyes flickered to you, seated closest to the door. your hands were neatly clasped together over your crossed legs, posture straight as if it’d be graded. there was an attempt to portray yourself with amiableness, but he caught the disgust in your eyes. he’d seen it before, when making contact with the blood of a curse, the times utahime tried to cook for faculty parties, when satoru himself shoved his overseas souvenirs in your face that were way too sweet to be considered edible. though, they paled in comparison to the rage you seeped now. your smile was relaxed, polite, but the rest of your face was pinched with frustration. the temptation of smoothing over the space between your eyebrows tugged at his fingertips, but was pushed to the side as he watched the air around you turn to steam.
on the way in you passed the nurse’s office. with a glance you caught on to the fact that there were a handful of middle schoolers sporting the spoils of megumi’s martial arts training. they were older, bigger, with teary eyes and blubbering incoherently about the recent string events to the staff. among them, tucked in the corner, was a kid much smaller and seemed to meet a different fate. he hugged his knees to his chest and stared longingly at the wall. there were a few scratches on his forehead and a crack in the lens of his glasses.
“it’s my understanding that megumi doesn’t have many friends here, and i’m afraid further acts of delinquency will only disconnect him from his peers.” the principal inhaled deeply. “it’s safe to say he already is considered a disgrace of some sort. his own sister seems to avoid him in the halls.”
your chest bobbed with slow, calming breaths. despite that, your tone was harsh, “i don’t mean to interrupt, but from my understanding, megumi stepped in on another student who was forced to eat pavement in the courtyard.”
megumi visibly winced at your inflection, curling himself into his seat a bit more and tucking his hands under his thighs. in the back of his mind, he knew he’d do it again. but he would do anything to prevent you from showing up to his school like this. the first few times an incident like this happened, it had been gojo alone who was called (he was much closer, with you being sent off on missions. and the staff preferred to speak with another teacher– it would be sound logic if it wasn’t gojo).
gojo, who nodded absentmindedly to the concerns of the staff and took megumi out for ice cream after. ice cream for himself, really– megumi’s appetite was usually flushed out by his embarrassment as soon as they left the office. he would probe gently at megumi’s antics, and conclude their outing by promising to downplay when speaking to you later.
the principal was a stout man, before you sat down you caught the slight wind of his feet swinging back and forth behind his desk. there was a disconnect between where the part in his hair once was and where the shiny toupee settled on his head. every so often, he scratched it with uncertainty and tousled his ‘hair’ into sticking in different directions.
“that is… handled–”
“because he handled it.” you said sharply, dragging your smile to your features again. the principal was seeing through it much more now.
he sighed. “i called you here more to discuss the state of megumi’s relationships.”
“and how is this relevant to the incident at hand?” you spoke slowly, nodding your head forward as if to say: choose your next words wisely.
“well, it’s hardly isolated. in most situations like these, the root cause stems from home life.” he rushes out his words, his accusatory stare turning to one of caution as he meets your eyes again. not so much for your sake, but for his. “to be frank, i don’t believe he’s receiving the right attention at home.”
there was a quiet shuffle outside, against the office door. out of your peripheral, you watched as a shadow was cast over the sliver of light peeking through the bottom by the squeaky rubber of what you knew were two pink tennis shoes.
your jaw, if possible, tensed even more. megumi’s head snapped to you, catching the slightest tick as you jutted your chin in the direction of the principal. once he wasn’t so taken by fear, he could appreciate your ability to contain the cursed energy that flowed through you. he was unable to detect even a rouse of energy, whereas his nerves manifested in the palms of his fists with an unruly flame licking his forearms. beside him, he sensed the presence of gojo’s infinity, activated on pure reflex as his body recognized the looming hostility in the atmosphere.
“i have to say i disagree–” your head tilted to the side, and you ignored the loud gulp of your counterpart.
“i expected as much. it’s my understanding that neither of you are all that present at home, it’s been said you both take long trips out of town for your work? is that true? have you considered the effects this has on megumi and tsumiki? i’ve heard she often–”
in an instant, your pupils shrank themselves into the size of needles, the color of your eyes remaining concentrated with anger. the muscles around your eyes twitched as you fought off the indignant expression that threatened to reveal itself.
“and i find this an inappropriate conversation to broach with megumi in the room,” your voice raised slightly as you cut him off. “there is a time, a place, and a counselor more suited for this discussion– and you’ve overlooked every measure and jumped to the conclusion he’s neglected? and from what, exactly? things that have ‘been said’ on campus grounds, by other children? rumors? i’m ashamed to see the lack of forethought prior and instead you jump to scrutinize blindly.”
every word was charged with venom, further filling the office space with an uncomfortable strain at their muscles. satoru winced, sliding his palms over the armrest to relieve himself of the sticky sweat he’d accumulated– and he had unconsciously squeezed the metal into a new shape. his chest was tight as you sucked the air from his lungs and used it to break down the principal with the eloquence of your words.
“it speaks to the reputation you’ve accrued, though. i expected as much.”
“excuse me–!”
you raised your palm. “i’m not sure i can. you summon us to an office to insult us and insunitate we aren’t parenting our son, not even present in his life, and on top of it have the gall to call him a delinquent?”
you rose to your feet, narrowed eyes still settled on the man in front of you. megumi and satoru were quick to rise with you, unsteady hands settling on their chairs to prevent them from hitting the floor. the principal went ignored as he urged satoru with his eyes to speak up, to put a stop to the scene before him. unfortunately for him, satoru’s eyes were trained on you with unwavering loyalty, waiting with baited breath for your next move.
the principal faced his palm to you, gesturing for you to sit. “miss y/l/n–”
“it’s gojo.” you snagged your jacket from the armrest, glowering eyes promptly cutting him off. he gawked like a fish out of water, a thin layer of sweat beginning to sheen over his forehead. “you better update your damn records before the next time i’m back here.”
you opened the door swiftly, catching tsumiki side-stepping at the last second to feign innocence. a futile attempt, you both know, as she reddens with embarrassment and turns her head with a lingering pout.
following you into the empty halls of the middle school was like a breath of fresh air for satoru and megumi, the cool atmosphere consoling them from the warping heat of your vexation. the raven-haired boy gravitated to his sister as they shared a concerned expression, your unaccustomed anger driving knots into their stomachs. your silence was deafening, the only sound being the rapid thumps of your footsteps overshadowing the entourage of much quieter ones behind you.
satoru fell into step with you, slipping his glasses down to the tip of his nose as he observed. it was in his nature to poke the bear, to push and push and push until it broke, and he would relish in the chaos that followed. however, since you were thrust upon his life his mind was overridden with an instinct to preserve your open heart laid bare before him, to ease your tensions and give until there was nothing left of him. to pull you closer and closer until you were one.
at your wish, he’d part the seas and move mountains and throw himself across every puddle in between for you to walk on.
“tsumiki, megumi, can you go get your stuff from your lockers?” your tone softened, despite the crinkle you still held between your eyebrows. even as your anger dissipated, your frustrations lingered like the kindling of a fire ready to light itself again.
they nodded fervently, disappearing down one of the hallways with quick footsteps. satoru kept himself in line with you as you approached the vestibule of the school entrance, a delicate hand finding your wrist and fingers pressing gently into your palm.
he closed the distance, leaning into you. his voice ghosted the shell of your ear as he teased, “you know, seeing you get all riled up was kind of hot.”
you scrunched your nose, biting back a smile. you didn’t have to look at him to know he was wiggling his eyebrows. unfortunately, even the days you tried to wallow in your anger he was there to sweep it away. “yeah, right. that’s why you were shaking in your boots.”
“shaking? me?” his free hand splayed against his chest and he looked to the ceiling with a roll of his eyes. “only out of concern for that poor principal.”
“you don’t think he deserved it?”
“i think you went too easy on him.” satoru smirked. it was your turn to roll your eyes.
the two of you fell quiet again, satoru with an unrelenting stare. you finally met his eyes as he silently wished for, he poured admiration into his gaze and hopes you would let it cling to you in the way he was desperate to with his own arms.
your eyebrows narrowed again as a heavy could hung over your heade. as you began to reflect, your shoulders sagged under the weight of your thoughts. “he’s wrong though, right?”
satoru forced you to take a proper hold of his hand, squeezing as you averted your gaze.
“of course he’s wrong, we’re great to that little brat.” he threw his arm up in exaggeration, his body closely following as it wrapped itself around your shoulders like it had a mind of its own. there’s a comment lingering on the tip of his tongue, he doesn’t utter it, knowing it’s stinging the back of your mind as well– it was either us or the zenin clan. “both of them. if they had any issues i’m sure they would’ve ran away already.”
you frowned at him. long ago, when satoru had first dragged them into your life, the fear loomed over you daily. the possibility of them running away, deciding the streets would be better than two crazed strangers that spoke of monsters and cursed energy, had constricted your muscles with fear to the point of physical exhaustion.
you always tormented yourself with the question if they really liked living with you, being raised by you despite the chaos of jujutsu (and the excruciating taunts of satoru gojo).
come to think of it, you don’t know the last time something like that crossed your mind.
“really. you’re doing a great job, you always have. especially considering our…” he lowered his voice to a playful whisper, “unconventional circumstances.”
“do you think they want to leave?”
“not a chance. i’m sure they’re siphoning money out of my bank accounts as we speak, and they’ll use me ‘til i die.”
you smiled, shaking your head. the fear in your composure was beginning to resolve, as you melted into the warmth of his hand. he took that as his invitation to reel you in closer, wrapping his arm around your waist. he reached forward and gently pressed his thumb into the space between your eyebrows, satisfying the urge that had been buzzing his fingertips for what felt like forever. pride swelled in his chest when he pulled his hand away and you relaxed, your expression no longer holding on to your sorrows.
for good measure, he placed a sloppy, wet kiss in your cheek that you squealed at. he grinned as you tried pushing him away through your laughter, slapping against his chest– a futile attempt as he only tightened his grip on you and pulled you impossibly closer to land another one on your opposite cheek.
“you– are so– annoying–!” you claimed through giggles, wiping your cheek with the back of your hand. his slobber came with it, all that remained being the hot flush of embarrassment.
“how could you wipe away my love so easily?” he pouted. he began to dip you– or rather, you began to dip yourself as he leaned closer and closer.
“we’re at a school, there could be children around.” you wrapped your arms around his neck, dangerously close to being horizontal.
“so? at some point they take a sex ed class, right?”
“satoru!”
after scurrying through the halls, tsumiki watched with a bored stare as megumi stretched for the top shelf of his locker for his textbooks, her arms crossed as she leaned against the cream locker next to his. he still had to rise to his tippy toes, being a little less than a head shorter than her. she heard that boys hit their growth spurts later and it was a lot more sudden, she wondered if he’d end up taller.
he slipped each book into the backpack hanging half-zipped on his shoulder at a leisure pace. his pinched expression had a striking similarity to the one you held barreling out of the office, though he held less anger, and he seemed disconnected from his surroundings. there was a fog over his eyes while he mulled over his thoughts.
she rolled her eyes at the mysterious demeanor he fought so hard to maintain. she believed he probably thought he seemed cool that way– too cool to express his vulnerability.
“so, she called you her son.”
megumi glanced at her with a quick side-eye, pausing the rough shove of his textbook into his bag. as much as he wished to stay reserved and withdrawn from the rest of the world, she always seemed to know what he was thinking. annoyance weighed in his chest.
“okay, so?”
she looked at him expectantly. “so, how do you feel about it?”
“i feel fine.”
“are you going to say anything to her?”
he rolled his eyes. “it was a slip of the tongue, tsumiki. there’s nothing to say.”
she glared for a brief moment, before reaching for the last book at the top of his locker. it was tucked in the corner too far for him to grab himself, she wondered how he got it up there in the first place.
tsumiki handed it to him, and he begrudgingly accepted it. as much as he hated asking for help, he hated her offering without asking much more.
“you know that’s not true. i heard her talking in there, she didn’t stutter once. she knew what she was saying, even if she was pissed off.”
he was quiet, shutting the metal door with a soft click that contrasted his hardened expression. or, the attempt he could muster with reddened cheeks and a gentle understanding in his gaze. guilt filled his stomach, you were really pissed. “so, what, you want me to start calling her mom?” he continued with a mumble, “i’m not calling gojo dad, ever.”
tsumiki didn’t point out that he implied he was open to calling you mom, instead turning her head with a proud smirk. ”pfft, he’d never let you live it down.”
the pair fell into stride in the hallway, soft footsteps echoing in the halls. megumi caught the glances of his peers in their classrooms, peaking into the hall window with curiosity wondering why they’d be roaming.
“maybe we get her a mother’s day card this year,” tsumiki pondered out loud, reflecting on the day in years past. thank you cards had sufficed thus far, despite the lingering tension around the holiday and the bouquets thrown on your dining room table, none of you ever broached the topic of motherhood.
megumi stayed quiet, looking out the window and ignored the growing grin of his sister. she knew well the lack of his pushback might as well have been him jumping up and down with glee. the picture drew out a muffled giggle that made his cheeks burn.
“do you think she’s mad?” he asked out loud. he knew you were. as long as you’d been in their lives there was an everlasting sweetness of your composure, and he wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
tsumiki laughed loudly now, though short-lived as they turned the corner and spotted you at the end of the hall. your hair was a bit tousled and your husband had his arms wrapped around you pathetically, whining about something she was sure you could all agree was insignificant. you stood tall to the best of your ability, being weighed down by the stature of a 6’3” man.
your eyes snapped to them with a natural instinct, spotting the slightest figure of your dependents, your kids, and keeping a watchful eye. your gaze softened as tsumiki grinned, grabbing her brother's arm and pulling him to match her quickening pace.
she was always quite perceptive. from afar, she detected the warmth of your admiration reaching out with tentative fingers carefully beckoning them into your embrace.
“i think she’s over it.”
(p.s. you weren’t– megumi was on dish duty and had to help tsumiki with her english homework that week.)

it’s hilarious to me that fushiguro went back to his old middle school and everyone talked about how his sister, who went to middle school with him, was the one taking care of him because I’m convinced that seventeen year old gojo had his ass in a chair every pta meeting starting shit with the other moms and the entire administration collectively said “that man cannot even take care of himself” and decided twelve year old tsumiki was the only possible caretaker

Live Commentary on JJK 002:
I'm having so much fun reading Yuuji and Gojo’s interaction rn with the context of Yuuji’s parentage ngl 😂
Tumblr media
Like imagine the irony of Gojo finding someone with such phenomenal ability while ignorant of the fact that like him, Stongest Sorceror of the age able to exist due to his clan’s careful maneuvering to maintain such powerful bloodline, Yuuji was also able to exist with such notable ability because of his mom’s careful and meticulous calculations lol
Turns out his not paranoid enough! There’s no such thing as coincidences, Satoru! Vigilance!! Haha
Making myself unnecessarily sad.
Tumblr media
Do you think Wasuke ever accidentally called Yuuji “Jin” before?
Sincerely, hoping it wouldn’t be because you’ve been sacrificed to be made anti-christ in some demonic ritual like that kid in Hereditary.
Tumblr media
And now, we’re off to Tokyo! To new and bloodied beginnings!! It’s like giving birth aint it.

the myy oc is simultaneously the one to make obnoxious little squeeing noises whenever megumi does literally anything and make tsumiki bring along disposable cameras on vacation because it's the only way to get her to admit what she's *actually* looking at, and the one to literally puke in the bushes or hide against a wall when Satoru does something that gives them secondhand embarrassment
literally the can't take it but can dish it out guardian XD
#like they're good at making sure not to hurt satoru's feelings lol because sometimes he does incredibly cringey things on purpose#and sometimes he just does things and they accidentally don't turn out well haha#megumi just grits his teeth and bears it#i wish i had more time in which to flesh out tsumiki's character and relationship with this oc tbh#i think they're dynamic would be so objectively bizarre#bc tsumiki is a people pleaser who's secretly resentful/dissatisfied#(like people forget she's also an abandoned child. whose mom ran off with effing toji of all people. she absolutely has mommy issues)#vs the myy oc who is attempting to be a recovering people pleaser and is also secretly kind of disappointed in the world lol#so it's the two of them giving each other stepford smiles while also legitimately trying to bond#this is myy oc's opportunity to attempt doing normal people activities and trying to find out of any of them are actually fun XD#with tsumiki who is also trying to find out if any normal people activities are actually fun#and tsumiki probably realizing she has depression one day rip because none of these activities bring her even a spark of joy or curiosity#she's just anxious the whole time because she's silently calculating how much money the outing is costing#even when she knows she won't be paying#and myy oc is anxious because they have no idea if this is the “type of thing girls this age are supposed to do”#the irony is if myy.oc actually took tsumiki to do something a little degenerate/delinquent like take her to a shooting range#she'd have a ball alkjsaf#ooh a rage room and then piano lessons and maybe one of those trampoline/gymnastics places#tsumiki's ideal day she didn't know she needed#io.myy#jjk#fushiguro tsumiki#from the margins

“listen. i’m telling you again. we’re NOT telling her i got you that lego set for winning that fight, am i clear?”
megumi nods with a roll of his eyes, arms crossed over his chest. “i don’t think she’s gonna be as mad as you think she will be. this isnt the first time this happens, you know?”
“regardless, the lego set remains unmentioned,” satoru points at megumi with a serious index finger, to which megumi rolls his eyes again as he resumes setting the dining table. “the tone of her voice on the phone said she’s coming for blood. i don’t wanna be on her bad side.”
“oh? so you set me up instead?!” megumi lets go of the plates to cross his arms over his chest. “is the strongest really such a scaredy-cat, now?”
“i’m not scared!” satoru is offended, even though he’s about to piss his pants. “and I wasn’t the one that decided that beating up 8 fucking kids on one go was the brightest idea ever, was i?”
“but you rewarded me for it!”
“he did what?”
the two of them freeze in their place, eyes widening as they hold each other’s gazes, too scared to look at the source of the voice coming from the kitchen entrance.
they stay quiet for a solid amount of seconds, and you remain unmoving. gojo gestures for megumi to look at you first, to which megumi replies with a subtle shake of his head, a thin sheet of sweat breaking on his forehead.
“i asked a question.”
thunder is rumbling, and when gojo decides to, very slowly, shift his gaze to you, it’s a scene right out of a horror movie when lightening strikes and thunder rolls on cue. you’re standing at the entrance, drenched from head to toe, a cut or two fresh on your face. your uniform remains unscathed, save for the water dripping to make a little damp pool beneath your feet.
“you’re home early, sweets,” gojo tries to approach, but you pin him in place with a glare. his nervous grin gradually falls from his face. “how was the mission?”
he hears footsteps approaching quickly, and when tsumiki comes to a halt behind you, seeing the state you’re in, she begins to slowly retreat despite satoru’s look of despair at her.
“you rewarded him.” you echo megumi’s words. the 14 year old swallows hard, eyes sliding from you to the suddenly more interesting kitchen sink. “he almost gets expelled, and you reward him.”
“but he didn’t get expelled!” satoru chuckles cheerfully. “he apologized, and all! didn’t you, megumi?” he nudges the teenager’s shoulder pushing him a bit forwards so he can take some of the impact himself. he lowers himself a bit to mumble to him through his teeth. “who’s the scaredy -cat now, huh?”
“I-i—“
“i leave the house for a couple of days— not even a couple, this was a day and a half, and i have to wrap my mission up quickly because my son’s being turned into a delinquent with his dad’s support?”
it takes satoru a couple of seconds to register the words that just came out fo his partner's mouth. he immediately looks at the flustered teenager by his side, to find a light blush on his cheeks and neck.
something warm settles behind gojo's ribcage. it was never addressed, that they're practically family. the only d word megumi calls gojo is dick, but fuck, by the look on megumi's face, the way his skin is painted pink, he knows that the seemingly stoic kid feels the same.
satoru doesn't even think you realize the way you addressed them.
tsumiki peeks her head from behind you. there's a sweet smile growing on her sweet face that he catches. he tries not to smile, he really does, but something in his demeanor is shattering right before his eyes.
"satoru!" you raise your voice, a frustrated frown painting your features, but all satoru feels is the love spreading through his body, his fingertips buzzing with it and all. "this is not rewardable behavior!"
"don't be mad at him..." megumi mumbled, finally taking a step forward. your gaze shifts to him, but he's looking anywhere but you. "he only wanted to cheer me up. this is my fault."
your eyes can't help but soften. gojo watches the change of expression in awe.
"if it helps, they were bullies." satoru chimes in a much softer voice, matching the look on your face. he ruffles the boy's hair, who doesn't push his hand away for the first time in a while. "it's just that megumi here has his own way of doing good. peculiar," gojo pauses with a little laugh when the teenager finally pushes his hand away grumpily. "but he's still doing good."
you finally spot the scar on his cheekbone, one that's already been tended to by satoru it seems, but you still walk across and hold his cheeks in your hands to check it out. its really not that deep, but something still tugs at your heart.
and satoru is still watching the changes of your expression, taking note of every little one. he knows you all too well, you see, and he knows that you're about to start tearing up any second now.
"why don't you guys go fetch angry mom here a towel or two?" he addresses the children, grabbing your wrist to let go of megumi, who looks too guilty for his own good right now. he brings you closer to him instead. "I'm afraid she'll only be grumpier if she catches a cold."
megumi hesitates, but tsumiki calls for him, understanding the cue better than her younger brother.
once they were both out of sight, gojo chuckles in endearment when you shove your face in his chest, uncontrollable tears escaping past your heavy lids. he grabs your head with one hand while the other holds you to him, soaked and all.
"oh baby," he sighs. he doesn't think he's ever been happier than this moment right here. "you just called him my son."
you punch him right in the gut. he groans out in pain, but his hold never wavers on you. "he is your son."
"i think we both prefer the name long-term pain in the ass, but that will do." he raises your head to look at him, and when he sees that red nose and tears down your cheeks, he can't help but giggle some more. "god, you're literally the best thing to ever happen to me."
"shut up." your cheeks burn in his hands, and you're unable to look away. "I was so scared something had happened to him. i would've never forgiven myself."
"the fuck do you take me for?" satoru fakes offense, raising an eyebrow down at you. you roll your eyes at him, from which he takes even more offense, letting you go with a scoff of disbelief. he dramatically removes his sunglasses and crosses his fingers in front of him. "I'll hollow purple your ass so hard right now and you'll never live to tell the tale."
"sure, honey," you pat him on the chest with one hand and wipe away your tears with the other, beginning to turn away from him with a, now more subtle, eye-roll. "whatever you say."
he grabs you and pulls you flush to him again, this time capturing your lips in a sweet, chaste kiss that has your whole body letting loose right there in his arms. your arms wrap around his neck like a reflex, and he squeezes you into him, a dull ache beating in him to just merge your bodies into one,, to have you in his very bones, and maybe even then it wouldn't be quite enough.
"i would rather be torn in two than let something happen to any of you," he breaks away from the kiss to peck your nose. you look into his eyes, and it worries you just how true his statement is. "what else do I have to fight for?"

Megumi Will Start the Merger Theory
You heard me. I know this sounds wild and out of left field, but it's just a theory. A Jujutsu Kaisen theory. I fully acknowledge it might not happen, but please stick around long enough for me to argue why I think Megumi's character may go in this direction.
This one is for all the Megumi corruption arc truthers out there. I came up with this theory when it became clear that saving Megumi from Sukuna's grasp was going to be more difficult than just giving him a motivational speech, or punching Sukuna until their souls separated. Furthermore, I believe that Jujutsu Kaisen's manga won't end with the defeat of Sukuna. There will be one more curve ball thrown at us by Gege in the late game, and this is me trying to anticipate the pitch before the baseball hits me in the face. Underneath the cut I will speculate on the direction that Gege may take Megumi's arc, the relationship between Sukuna and Megumi, and Yuji's role in the finale.
What is a Corruption Arc?
Before digging in too deep I want to explain what I mean when I say I'm a Megumi corruption arc truther. A character arc is a story arc in regards to a character where a character changes from beginning to end. That's the most basic definition, arcs can be more complex, some arcs are actually inversions of the standard character arc where a character is defined by his lack of change.
However, those still need some element change, sometimes characters around them change to show contrast. For example, Eren is a stagnant character from beginning to end in Attack on Titan, but characters like Mikasa, Armin, Jean all grow up to show by comparison how little Eren has grown. Sometimes circumstances change around a character, and their lack of growth is a failure to adapt to those circumstances.
A character arc requires a change, but it's not necessarily a positive change. Often called negative character development, these characters regress instead of grow. This happens in many ways. One of the most basic examples of a character arc is a want / need arc. A want / need arc shows an emotional hole in the protagonist's life that needs repairing and how resolving the plot allows them to fill that hole. The protagonist usually knows what they need, but they know what they want, and often what they want won't actually fix them.
For example if I'm feeling sad I want to eat donuts to lift my mood, but what I need to do is learn healthier ways to work through my negative emotions. A character who keeps pursuing what they want, instead of realizing what they need won't grow, that's negative character development.
That's just one example though, Gege gave us a blueprint for a corruption arc in Hidden Inventory.
In Yu Yu Hakusho the character Sensui (directly cited by Gege as his inspiration for Geto in an interview) once was a spirit detective like the protagonist. No one describes him as corrupt from the beginning, in fact he's constantly described as more pure and upstanding than delinquent Yusuke Urameshi who likes getting into fights. He has a strong sense of justice, but rigid black and white views that come with it. Once he's confronted with evidence that directly contradicts his demons bad, humans good paradigm he cannot cope, and the narrative all but states Sensui's purity traditionally a good trait corrupted him because of his inability to adapt and his rigidity in in his beliefs.
Sensui goes through a corruption arc, albeit one offscreen and mainly referred to in backstory.
Geto's happens onscreen in its own story arc where he is one of two main characters. Much like Sensui he's presented to us as a sorcerer like Gojo, but unlike Gojo he believes sorcerers are obligated by duty to protect non-sorcerers who have no way of fighting against curses. You could argue that in some ways Geto and Gojo are the same type of jerk, but Geto's principles are clearly set up to contrast Gojo who at that age only was a sorcerer to flex his abilities. Geto's friendship often has him lecturing Gojo about respecting others, paying special attention to Gojo's feelings in ways that other characters don't, and also not being afraid to clash with Gojo over differences in morals.
If Geto is corrupt from the beginning there's no arc there, so he's clearly set up as being the moral fiber to contrast Gojo. We are literally presented with a scene where Gojo admits he could kill the non-sorcerers who hired a bounty hunter to assasinate Riko and feel nothing, and relies on Geto to make a moral judgement in his place, that society will already punish them and their slaughter is pointless.
Tumblr media
The irony is that later, Geto will engage in pointless slaughter killing an entire town in retribution for their abuse of Nanako and Mimiko. When Gojo confronts him about his actions, Gojo cites the same reasoning that Geto provided him to stop him from killing the cult members.
That Geto's murder of innocent civilians is pointless, because it won't achieve anything - his world of sorcerers is out of reach. Geto's clearly positioned as Gojo's moral tether, because he cites Geto's statement of only killing when there's meaning to it right back at him.
Tumblr media
This is also where the corruption part of his corruption arc comes in, a change has taken place here. Geto hypocritically contradicts his earlier words, not just engaging in meaningless slaughter but also punishing people with his own hands instead of letting the justice systems in place take care of the punishments. Two things he held Gojo back from doing, only to do himself post corruption arc.
You could cite many things as the reason for Geto's corruption arc, but the common theme shared with Sensui is resistance to change. Geto saw the world in two distinct categories strong / weak, the same way Sensui saw humans good / demons bad. When Geto is shown that weak people are capable of bonding together to oppress strong people (the cult) and that sorcerers despite having strength are on the losing end of their society (they are expected to risk their lives and toil endlessly for curses 99% of the population can't even see), he cannot cope.
He especially cannot cope with the reality that Rika's death showed him, that he is not strong as he once believed. All of this combined leads Geto to double down, still seeing strong and weak as separate categories but now blaming normal citizens for the inherent corruption inside the Jujutsu World. Notice how Gojo a character with positive development seeks to reform from inside the Jujutsu World instead.
Geto also still wants to think of himself in the strong category, rather than facing the feelings that Riko's death and his helplessness in that moment gave him, as well as Gojo pulling he instead decides to double down on the idea that he's in the strong category, that he's superior.
Tumblr media
Geto even remarks jealousy at Gojo's godlike power for the first time, when before this he's always been the only person to treat Gojo as an equal - because Geto doubling down on his superiority complex begins imagining himself above others and therefore untouchable by trauma. It's also a grab for agency, because in this world sorcerers are rather agenciless, forced to be cogs in an unfair system. Geto incorrectly assumes agency = power. If he possessed Gojo's power he would be able to grab his agency back (which is simply incorrect because Gojo is one of the most agenciless characters in the manga, defined by his rigid role as the lynchpin of society).
Geto also doesn't mature. A mature adult lives in the world, and accepts that the world is imperfect. Geto is remarked as childish, first by Shoko when they are smoking together "sulking because no one understands you... sounds awfully childish if you ask me", and then by Yuta "You think you're a god? You sound like a kid!"
So we have, refusal to grow up, refusal to adapt to a complex world, resistance to grief, and grabbing for agency and power instead of fixing an issue inside himself - all of these combine to make the Jenga Tower that is Geto Suguru collapse.
The central question of Geto's arc, spoken by Gojo to Yaga is "Is it possible to save someone who doesn't want to be saved?"
Tumblr media
If Geto refuses all help, refuses to admit that he's wrong, and does not want to change then what really can Gojo do in this situation? Was he right to give up? Did he give up too early, refusing to kill Geto but also spending ten years just ignoring the problem until Geto attacked in Jujutsu Kaisen Zero? Did it not matter what Gojo did because ultimately Geto's choices are his own?
There's no clear answer, because it's a question the author is asking the audience to ponder. It's also a question directly set up for Megumi to answer, because when Gojo is unable to do a thing for Geto we see his next action is to seek out Megumi. His words imply that he sees Megumi in Geto and advises him not to be left behind, he also clearly became a teacher in order to not let what happened between him and Geto repeat in the next generation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In spit of Gojo's best intentions, he's not able to protect Megumi from any of Sukuna's designs toward him, or basically anything that happens in post Shibuya's. Simply raising Megumi to be strong, did not prevent him from suffering trauma in his youth on Geto's level.
There's even a deliberate parallel, they both witness the death of an innocent who they promised to protect (Tsumiki, Riko Amanai) and they both have had their body taken from them, Geto's corpse is turned into a literal puppet to help advance Kenjaku's plans, Sukuna steals Megumi's body in order to revive himself in the modern era. They're both even used as tools against Gojo, Kenjaku uses Geto's body to awaken memories in Gojo and complete the sealing. Sukuna uses Mahoraga to learn the world splitting slash that cuts through Gojo's defenses.
Megumi also has a set of values that society spits in the face of. Megumi wishes to selfishly protect his sister, and pick and choose who to save. Geto believes the strong are obligated to protect the weak. Geto sees weak people who are corrupt and not worthy of his protection and also the reality that sorcerers are the exploited class, Megumi is forced to kill Tsumiki with his own hands.
These are intentional narrative parallels to show the risk of Megumi may walk the same path as Geto, especially since Megumi is in many ways a pure child like Geto himself.
Dark Phoenix Arc
There's one more corruption arc I want to compare Megumi's too, to give some idea of where I expect Megumi's arc to lead.
The Dark Phoenix Saga commonly refers to the story in Uncanny X-Men #129 - 138 of Jean Grey’s corruption by the power of the Phoenix and the Hellfire Club. It was considered incredibly shocking for its time. One thing to note is while Jean Grey is famous nowadays, in early X-Men she was the weakest character and her role was basically limited to “The Woman” of the team.
Elevating the helpless damsel woman to the most powerful member of the team, if not the entire universe and then having her turn evil had never been done before. It was a jaw-dropping shock at the time.
The reason I am citing the Dark Phoenix arc as an example, is because both Jean Grey and Megumi's character arc revolves around themes of agency, how it's stolen from them and how they reclaim it.
The basic summary of the Phoenix arc is that Jean Grey is initially given a massive power boost when she's possessed by the Phoenix. She stays behind on a crashing ship only to be saved by the Phoenix, a guardian, alien entity of immense power that was locked away in a crystal. Jean Grey returns as Phoenix with a massive power boost, but there's several ambiguous elements that compromise her agency. It's implied that Jean Grey always had a tremendous power that was in part sealed away by Professor Xavier using his telepathy (infringing on her agency) and that while the Phoenix gifted Jean Grey power, it's also an alien entity effecting her mind and body.
Tumblr media
On top of that when she acquires the power, outside forces begin wanting to manipulate Jean in order to gain her power for their own ends.
A group called the Hellfire club begin to psychically tamper with her mind. They trap her in hallucination world where she is a woman of the 1800s, (not famously known for their agency) and in love with the leader of the Hellfire Club, even going so far as to give her false memories in order to convince her that this is reality.
The concept of agency and how it's constantly infringed upon, even by someone who's supposed to be on her side (Xavier) is central to this arc. Jean evetually escapes from the Hellfire club's manipulation, and reclaims her bodily autonomy but the story does not end there.
Tumblr media
The subtle changes in Jean's behavior still continue, even after Jean has freed herself from the mind control. Is this the result of being given too much power at once? Is Jean losing control because she was never taught to properly handle her powers?
Jean Grey is also the character with the strongest potential in the main cast (much like Megumi) and also a character who's been prevented from using her powers to their full potential and even had her powers stolen and used by others (Much like Megumi).
Tumblr media
It's heavily important that Jean's corruption into dark phoenix happens after freeing herself, and in response to the Hellfire club's machination to take all agency away from her. Jean instead makes a grab for power and agency by abusing her power as Dark Phoenix.
Jean even mentions that turning against her friends and trying to kill them as Dark Phoenix, will sever the last tie holding her back, will get of Jean Grey for good and cause her to fully embrace being Phoenix.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jean has flipped entirely, overembracing the power and agency that has been stolen from her again and again, but really how could someone not desperately try to take back control of their lives after being mind controlled or having their mind violated multiple times (the phoenix itself, the hellfire club, even by Xavier).
How can someone never allowed to use her power, or given choices on how to use her power, not be corrupted when after being stepped on all of their lives the power of a god is dropped into their lap?
This is why I believe Megumi will be the one to initiate the merger, because his entire arc has been about having his power stolen away from him and what would Megumi do when given total power over the merger by Kenjaku?
Megumi Corruption Theory
The biggest piece of evidence for this theory is right here, Kenjaku specifically says to give Megumi Fushiguro the authority to start the merger.
Tumblr media
There's a technical reason for this, Sukuna is currently in Megumi's body, and Sukuna himself was actually registered in Yuji's place because Yuji was built by Kenjaku to be a cage for Sukuna.
However, it can also be read as foreshadowing. If you believe like I do that the merger has to happen, then Sukuna can't be the one to initiate it. The simple reason why is that the main characters will have to be alive to fight against a merger, and Sukuna has set the condition that he'll start the merger after killing the main cast in order to motivate them to fight him with everything they have.
If Sukuna is going to start the merger after killing all the main characters, then he can't be the one to start the merger because the main characters have to be alive to witness the merger take place and fight against it somehow.
Therefore, logically if the merger is going to occur the only person who could possibly activate it is Megumi Fushiguro after reclaiming his body.
There's more foreshadowing then this one instance however, and a lot of it revolves around Sukuna and Megumi's unique relationship and Sukuna's role as a character.
As for why Megumi would possibly start out the merger, it's the same as Jean Grey, a character denied of agency suddenly has all the power in his hands, who wouldn't be corrupted? Especially Megumi, a character who's just been robbed of his sister and his mentor, and his purpose in life besides that (protecting Tsumiki)? Why wouldn't he lash out if suddenly given the power to? His friends are trying to save him yes, but Megumi is begging those save friends not to save him to end it all.
How do you save someone who isn't prepared to be saved?
How is the story going to answer that question, if saving Megumi is a matter as simple as just beating up Sukuna and giving his body back to him?
Onto analyzing more foreshadowing, but first a brief tangent on the nature of foreshadowing in Jujutsu Kaisen. Every major twist in the manga is foreshadowed far in advance. Kenjaku beng the one to possess Geto's body - foreshadowed by Kenjaku killing Mechamaru when Geto was against killing young sorcerers, and the fact Geto was deliberately killed onscreen with no explanation provided to the audience on how he could possibly revive.
Sukuna calls the purpose of the bath to be near evil, to submerge Megumi's soul.
Tumblr media
If saving Megumi is just a matter of ridding him of Sukuna's possession however, then how does that allow Megumi to reclaim his agency? What agency does a damsel in distress who just exists to be rescued have?
Megumi's entire arc has been defined by the potential power that everyone sees in him, and his inability to reach that power especailly since other characters (especially Sukuna) seek to steal that power for their own ends. In the culmination of this arc, Sukuna literally steals Megumi's body, and his bodily agency.
How does Megumi finally live up to that potential if Megumi's arc ends with him being saved by Yuji? How does this make Megumi grow or change in any way?
Sensui, who is once again Gege's model of a corruption arc is referred to as a pure angel that was inevitably grew scarred and defiled, by his close personal confidant Itsuki. Not only that, but sinking deep into despair made him grow stronger not weaker.
Tumblr media
Itsuki is also, a demon who met and encountered Sensui and then took a deeply invested perosnal interest in watching Sensui be corrupted in real time.
Megumi also has a curse that took a sole interest in him because of his talent and potential, then had a hand in bringing him closer to evil in order to make him sink into despair. There's once again the symbolism of purity being corrupted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This panel explicitly shows white lilies (symbols of purity) being torn apart and blackened to symbolize what Sukuna wishes to do to Megumi in order to further is own ends.
There's also the heavy budhist symbolism with Sukuna's role in the story, and the way he influences the rest of the cast, especially Gojo Satoru who is our stand-in for the Budha. If the goal of Jujutsu Society is to attain enlightenment (escape cursed energy probably the only thing that will end the miserable lives of sorcerers), then the merger represents the opposite, Kenjaku's goal of optimizing cursed energy by mixing humans, sorcerers and curses to give birth to a new being.
That's also a conflict that needs to be resolved, but Sukuna by pushing forward the optimizing of cursed energy and representing the peak of sorcery living only for sorcerery and his own strength represents a Mara.
Sukuna is comparable to the Celestial Demon Mara in budhist mythology, more on it in this thread. In budhist cosmology, Mara is the “personification of the forces antagonistic to enlightenment.”
If the ultimate goal of budhism is to escape the cycle entirely and stop being reborn in the sensuous realm, Maara instead tempts people to stay in this realm. it defines impernanence by suggesting we stay in this realm forever. It defies Dukha by saying we indulge in physical pleasures in this realm, that we should seek to satisfy ourselves even if budhism argues that life is primarily unsatisfactory.
We even see Sukuna literally tempt a budha-like figure into remaining in this earthly realm. After all aren’t we shown that Gojo achieved enlightenment at seventeen and let go of earthly emotions like the need to be angry and avenge Riko’s killer because the feeling of oneness with existence was too good in that moment.
A lot of people noticed what they thought was Gojo acting out of character in the fight with him and Sukuna, by enjoying the fight and choosing his selfish desire to love jujutsu and fight as a sorcerer over his responsibiltiy to protect children. Something which Nanami says in his dying hallucination that Gojo only ever lived for the pursuit of his selfish desire for Jujutsu in the first place.
Gojo in his last fight against Sukuna forgets about saving Megumi or at least makes it a lesser priority, because Sukuna tempts him to do what he's always wanted to go all out in a sorcery fight and have the freedom to use his powers to the best of his ability. Hoewever, even after using his full strength, Sukuna cuts down the notion that he is above humanity and drags him back to the earth - literally calling him unenlightened.
“This is goodbye. You were born in an era without me and hailed as the strongest yet you turned out to be painfully ordinary…”
Tumblr media
Does Sukuna not represent this temptation for all characters? Sukuna represents the selfish ideal of sorcerers, using his powers for himself to satisfy his hedonistic desires and because of this he has the most agency in the story and the story at times even bends to his desires.
Characters even fight for Sukuna's recognition, Hajime, Jogo and Gojo are validated by that same recognition in theend.
Why wouldn't Gojo and more importantly Megumi who are characters with very little agency not jump at the chance to be more like Sukuna, especially if it brings Sukuna the freedom he possesses?
Tumblr media
Itsuki refers to himself as Senseui's shadows, leading him to act on his darkest impulses and enjoying watching the corruption spread. Megumi is literally a character who's Jujutsu revolves around his shadow, and summoning powerful Shikigami from it in order to fight. A character with an incomplete domain expansion (another loose plot thread with Megumi that would be unresolved if Megumi were simply saved) which is his own creation, which might surpass Mahoraga the technique handed to him.
Tumblr media
In addition to being a Mara, Sukuna is also literally called the "fallen / disgraced one". Itsuki calls Sensui a fallen agel, but in the context of Jujutsu Kaisen there's literally a character called Angel, who's only goal is to save Megumi's soul, and there is a satan figure in Sukuna who wants to corrupt him. Literally, there's an angel and devil on Megumi's shoulder.
How is stealing Megumi's body corruption though? Megumi's not being tempted into being selfish. He's not responsible for any of the sins that Sukuna commits in his body. There's no arc there, because Megumi doesn't reclaim his agency in response to having it stolen away, he doesn't decide to do the bad things himself - it's Sukuna who commits the wrongs.
Even More Setup for the End Game
Here's where I stop referencing Yu Yu Hakusho and only use foreshadowing in the comic itself. The first is the discussion of roles, and how Yuji needs to break away from them, as much as Megumi needs to fight for his agency back.
Part of the reason Sukuna jumped bodies is because Yuji wanted to be given an easy role like a character in a story - rather than thinking and deciding for himself. He thanks Megumi and Gojo for giving him a role seconds before the body swap happens. If Yuji is immediately punished for thinking that what he needs is to be a cog in the machine, to be given a role then methinks that's a bad thing.
However, Yuji has not broken away from that thinking in any significant way. Sukuna even mocks him for finally being given a role.
Tumblr media
If Yuji's thinking hasn't changed then no story arc has taken place. If this conflict of Yuji wanting to conform to a cog or a role has persisted since Shibuya - then it's clearly important to his arc and is something that needs to be resolved. If Yuji just solves the problem by being stronger than Sukuna and beating him in a fight, how does that resolve Yuji's flaw of clinging to roles rather than thinking for himself? I ask once again, where's the change?
Saving Megumi like a damsel in distress is still a role someone else has assigned him.
Tumblr media
How does the decision to save Megumi right now challenge Yuji's hero complex in any way, besides the fact that Megumi has sunk into despair and would rather just end it all. Is that much a conflict that really forces Yuji to think for himself - to go against the grain of society rather than blindly following others.
If Yuji gets to rescue Megumi like a damsel, that's giving him what he wants, without forcing him to realize what he needs. That's as much of an unfullfilling end to Yuji's arc as a ending where Megumi never reclaims his agency and stands on his own feet and just has to sit there and wait and be passively saved.
Most of all the question: "Is it possible to save someone who's not prepared to be saved?" goes unanswered.
Geto wasn't just depressed and suicidal, he was actively making harmful choices and represented a danger to others. He also had no intention of stopping the path that he was on.
There's a clear parallel between Megumi and Yuji's friendship, and Geto and Gojo's past fallout. However, if it's just a conflict of Yuji saving Megumi who's simply too suicidal and doesn't want to go on living, there's no conflict there. The audience will not see whether or not Gojo was still capable of saving Geto post his burning down the village, or if there was no walking back from that choice. The previous generation won't resolve or fix the mistakes of the past generation.
Yuji remains a hero, Megumi remains a victim, as I reiterate for the thousandth time there's no change.
Megumi starting the merger, or even defeating Sukuna himself (maybe with a completed domain expansion) and then starting the merger is a change. It's also foreshadowed, Mahoraga is the technique he inherited, the technique Sukuna stole (and Mahoraga won't work against him he's already defeated it), Megumi's domain expansion is his own creation, created in his deepest moment of personal growth.
The process of individuation also literally requires a character fully integrating their shadow. Sukuna possessing Megumi is not Megumi facing his shadow or his worst traits, because Sukuna is not Megumi's shadow, he doesn't reflect Megumi's flaws in anyway, he's literally just a parasite.
There's also the 1001 Toji parallels to Megumi that have gone unfulfilled. Toji specifically a character who was abused, then chose to continue the cycle of abuse, specifically because he wanted to prove himself stronger than the peak of sorcery. Especially after a lifetime of being belittled and abused by not having the potential of his Heavenly Restriction recognized.
Tumblr media
And what do we have here, but a scene of Toji LITERALLY EMERGING FROM MEGUMI'S SHADOW, in order to enter Dagon's domain.
Tumblr media
How is Toji referred to afterwards? As a puppet of carnage bearing his fangs at the strongest around.
Tumblr media
An incredibly Sukuna like description, number one because Sukuna's entire existence is simply bearing his fangs at the strongest around, and number two Sukuna is referred to as pure destruction, like a calamity, something with overhwelming sense of self and no humanity.
Tumblr media
Not only that, but when fighting Sukuna, Gojo makes an explicit reference to Toji comparing him to Sukuna as the last time he ever felt nervous or challenged by an enemy. Sukuna and Toji are being alligned as similiar characters, supremely selfish people who hoard their agency and strength. Toji also represents the worst of Megumi, a victim caught in a perpetual cycle of lashing out against the world, a bad future path he might take if he doesn't get over himself.
Sukuna is connected to Toji wo is connected to Gojo, and all three represent a path that Megumi has been nudged down his entire life, that he should just selfishly use his power with no regards to anyone else the same way they do.
As I said before in my comparison to Jean, why wouldn't someone who's been robbed of all agency for so long, not go too far in reclaiming it? What's stopping them now that the chains are finally off?
Megumi parallels Geto, who parallels Toji, who parallels Sukuna and why draw all these lines between these characters if it's not to represent a path that Megumi could take?
In other words...

𝒥𝒥𝒦 𝑀𝐸𝒩 𝒲𝐼𝒯𝐻 𝒮𝒜𝒩𝑅𝐼𝒪 𝒢𝐼𝑅𝐿𝐹𝑅𝐼𝐸𝒩𝒟𝒮 x black fems! ⤷ content: just a lot of fluff really and some suggestive stuff but nothing descriptive. itadori & megumi are aged up to 18 (to seem more exclusive since i think you can imagine them like this at anytime), but it’s all for fluff reasons. Merry Christmas ❤️💚🤍
signed mumu . . . just fun hdcs with our favorite jjk men, some suggestive content, but nothing overly descriptive. any kind of support is appreciated buns <3 @hoori @ifuckslasherz @scarfac3 @sukuette @pekejs @yeagersex | banner credit to @cafekitsune
Tumblr media
itadori with a hello kitty girlfriend
❤︎ we saw this coming, what can i say two main characters belong together. you both enjoy being out all the time, whether that’s just spending time with each or friends. just being out and about with each other.
❤︎ a lot of times people like to think itadori doesn’t have a girlfriend when he mentions he does have one. the way he goes on and on to brag about you to his closest friends. you’d think you’re some fictional character from a game, but no you are his and only his!
megumi with a pochacco girlfriend
❤︎ there is never a dull moment between the two of you. as you both can make the smallest things into a competition between each other. let anyone simply ask “who’s better at ___?” you both are jumping at the opportunity to beat the others ass.
❤︎ the way you two ended up together is a mystery to yourself, but also so funny. your brother was a delinquent that often got into arguments with other students. just this one time he decided to bother megumi which didn’t end well for him. of course you went to go stand up for your brother and cuss out the jackass you put his hands on your family. but let’s just say…. you got completely distracted and ended up bonding with the guy? you overheard him talking about one of your favorite special interests and couldn’t help but join in. it’s rare that you find someone else who deeply loves something like you.
nanami with a melody girlfriend
❤︎ nanami with his melody girlfriend are such a odd but complimenting couple. the both of you have an understanding, you love being the “traditional girlfriend” while he loves being a “traditional boyfriend.” basically he provides for you while you spend his money on all your precious desires (he prefers it this way).
❤︎ often you find yourself on top of nanami almost every night. often you find yourself having silly little nightmares from recent horror movies you’ve watched, but nanami is always there to comfort you. he hovers over, without letting you feel any of his weight. “here take melody” he tucks her into you and kiss you on the head before cuddling up with you.
geto with batz a maru girlfriend
❤︎ oh boy! two people who look like absolute meanies but care so deeply for the ones who know them best. relationship consists of you two constantly picking on each other or just plain embarrassing the other.
❤︎ geto’s most fondest memory with you is when you both first met for a blind date. it was at a bar that is now only but a block away from where you both call home. he remembers you getting so drunk that you couldn’t even properly write your signature that night. geto had never seen someone show how genuine they are with their real personality, jokes, and being loud as hell. he loved that you didn’t feel the need to hide yourself for others benefit.
gojo with a cinnamoroll girlfriend
❤︎ you know how everyone loves the girlfriend that speaks for their boyfriend when the waiter gets his food wrong? well that’s the dynamic you and gojo have, but he’s the one who speaks up for you.
❤︎ sometimes you find that a lot of your cinnamoroll plushies are missing and that because of no one other than you boyfriend. gojo enjoys taking them and putting them in his office to dress them up as a mini version of him. “doesn’t he look way better with my shades on” he proudly displays cinnamoroll with a mini version of the outfit he has on.
sukuna with a kuromi girlfriend
❤︎ naturally sukuna would gravitate towards a kuromi girl. someone that’s just as rebellious and mischievous as him, but also girly at the same time.
❤︎ sukuna loves getting reactions out of you. something like hiding your favorite plushie. can get you so heated and he loves seeing that side of you come out. when you come to him to ask where he placed it, he always pretends he has no clue as to what you’re chatting about. “oh, you’re talking about that black and purple plushies of yours right?” “yes!” “ i don’t recall ever seeing it love” he says with a wink.
choso with a mocha girlfriend
❤︎ you two are the perfect example of a pink aesthetic girlfriend with a black aesthetic boyfriend. do people constantly question you both being together because of your different aesthetics? yes, but doesn’t choso give them a death stare for it? absolutely yes!
❤︎ choso is too shy to admit it to you but he loves cuddling you or just being able to touch you in anyway you allow him to. he prefers to sleep in your room filled up to the brim with pink and he cherishes every second of it.
toji with a choco cat girlfriend
❤︎ a mischievous and carrying boyfriend with the laid back girlfriend that’s friendly. dare i say that how toji acts with you is like a golden retriever but in a black cat form. he’s does all the carrying and doting things regular boyfriends do, but he always had to remind you who he is at heart. which is a childish man with a fat cock!
❤︎ toji knows how self-conscious you get when going to the gym. not because of the curves you possess, but because you feel like you’re doing the workouts completely wrong. which is why he always has to be your hype man at the gym. while your taking pictures for your social media hes right behind you slapping your ass. “beautiful just beautiful” he says as he slaps your ass again and leaving a kiss on your cheek.

miss me if you want to — megumi fushiguro x reader
a/n: happy late birthday pookie wc: 3.6k megumi ends up at his old middle school for a mission, and reminisces on his time there, with you. fluff/humor, happy ending, gojo being his dad self
Tumblr media
megumi kept his hands in his pockets as he scoped the halls of urami east middle school, desperately trying to ignore the entourage of sorcerers behind him and their barrage of questions. unfortunately for megumi, nobara just discovered a commonality. (“fushiguro, let’s go beat up that guy! for old time’s sake, you know!” “kugisaki, you can’t just point to every man and ask to beat them up. we don’t know anybody here! and you can’t say old times sake if you didn't even go here, right?”)
it took all his willpower not to turn around and curse them both back to jujutsu tech, their voices burning through his ears and building an irritation in his gut. any of his old classmates who recognized him seemed to gape, just before ducking their heads and scurrying down the hall. it didn’t give him much to work with regarding the assignment. his friends giggled, poorly hiding it behind their hands.
it was hard for the nostalgia of his middle school and the presence of old peers to settle in with the constant whispering behind him, even if part of himself wasn’t sure that he wanted to reflect on his time there. he remembered the cream-colored walls and tan uniform jackets being less harsh on his eyes, every memory he could recall was hazed over with a dark grime.
the smell of freshly waxed floors and chalk dust washed over him like waves, passing his old classroom’s doors that were propped open. he could hear the muffled lessons, and wondered the last time he really used any academics from–
“fushiguro, why don’t you have anything in the trophy case?” nobara pondered, dragging her finger along the glass border.
“they’ve gotta have one for the best stink-face, right?” yuji howled with laughter. “you’d totally win!”
“can you guys get it together? we’re not going to get anywhere if you keep messing around,” megumi said, not bothering to spare them a glance. he refused to prove itadori right with his stink-face. “go walk the south corridor, there’s a few offices for the staff, they might know something.”
“fushiguro,” yuji whined.
“go.”
reluctantly, his friends shuffled away. “yeah, i think we kind of pushed our luck that time,” nobara mumbled.
finally, he reveled in the silence. there was a bud of anxiety in his stomach, a nagging feeling that just around the corner would be a teacher to chastise him for his history of delinquency. on the other hand, the possibility of seeing one of the many faces he had beaten and bruised.
megumi rounded the corner that led to the library and various study rooms, keeping his gaze on the windows. he remembered the landscape being different, more sullen, but still captivating him as much. he remembered his frequent trips to the library when he wasn’t spending his time rounding together the bullies and failures that infested the school.
the library wasn’t special, but he could always–
“megumi?”
megumi’s eyes widened as he whipped his head forward. the voice, though unexpected, was unmistakable in his mind. his bud of anxiety bloomed when he saw you, your head tilted in the same bewilderment. out of all places, he didn’t expect to see you at the place you graduated, just over a year ago.
the fog that coated all his memories seemed to dissipate, recollection of you clouded with a glow that couldn’t compare to the way you looked now. your school uniform was haphazard, white button up untucked and rolled to your elbows and your dark jacket was discarded on the library cart you leaned on. your confusion washed away and your face was taken up by a bright smile, and with that megumi blushed furiously.
“y/n? i didn’t expect to see you here.” he cleared his throat in an attempt to regain his composure, and closed the gap between you so all that was left in the way was the cart. you craned your neck to meet his gaze, he’d grown a bit. “don’t tell me they made you repeat.”
shaking your head, you laughed. he missed that. “you’re telling me, you’re supposed to be all the way at jujutsu tech. what are you doing here?”
“i asked you first.”
you rolled your eyes playfully. always so combative.
“i use my free period to help out here, it’s only like a five minute walk from the high school.”
megumi hummed. so you decided to stay close. it was always a toss up.
“so, how’s jujutsu tech so far? everything you wanted and more?”
megumi smiled, recalling the day he told you that’s where he would be attending, and you found it completely ridiculous. hilarious, even. a religious school, for him? if you hadn’t met gojo before you would have thought he was sentencing megumi there as some sort of punishment for his delinquency at school. unfortunately, you had met gojo, and the idea of him teaching at a religious school and dragging megumi with him only drove you to further hysterics.
the humor you found in all of it almost made up for the lies he was feeding you. a part of him longed for you to have some cursed energy to see all that he did, so you could understand the life he lives. maybe if you did, you would go to jujutsu tech with him, and he could share more of his life with you.
but megumi knew you were much better off without it, and without him. here, in your home environment, you were glowing. you were living a good and safe life, and he would keep it that way.
so, he fed you more white lies. kept it all vague and lighthearted so you could sleep easy. the school staff was capable, his studies were improving, and his classmates were… tolerable, at best. or so he claimed. the lighthearted jokes at their expense were always followed by a compliment on their character, you knew he was fond of them.
before he knew it, the two of you were strolling around the campus together with your shoulders glued to each other like you were back in routine. everything about being with you again was timeless. you still exaggerated with your hands and paused at the ends of your sentences to enunciate with your facial expressions, and always stayed on his left side so he didn’t have to face down the beating sun when he was looking at you. and he was always looking at you.
every once in a while, your hand brushed up against his and his movements would stutter. he would wait for some sort of reaction, though he wasn’t sure why. confirmation, that it was okay? or to see how much he could get away with. you acted as if it was nothing, and he wondered if you’d stay like that if he closed the distance and finally grasped your hand with his.
megumi had your school blazer draped over his other arm. he wasn’t much of a talker, even with you. but it seemed once you were able to get his shoulders to relax and his guard slipped a bit more, he rambled on about the more trivial things in his life. his friends– “i wouldn’t call them that” – and their endless enthusiasm. it’s like they were born yesterday, and every day in tokyo they lived like a fish out of water. they dragged him into a lot of things, but also held him back. megumi rolled his eyes when you said it was probably a good thing, since you weren’t around to do that anymore. you also weren’t very good at it.
megumi couldn’t look at you when you smiled like that, like an all-knowing entity that can see through the cracks in his image. like you knew him better than he knew himself, because in some ways you did. he looked at the ground, his shoes, and the trees, anything that couldn’t perceive the blush that ran up his neck.
“fushiguro?!”
he didn’t realize the lax in his composure until he tensed up again at the screech of his name not too far behind him. his smile dropped and he was brought back to the reality of his situation, being on a mission, scrounging for any murmurs about this curse he was meant to be hunting while dragging around two idiots with him.
nobara and yuji were pale from shock, stiff as boards at the sight of their fushiguro cozy with some stranger. nitta was next to them, jaw agape as she stared and slithered her phone out of her pocket.
megumi’s eye twitched.
“fushiguro, is this why you sent us off to the teacher's lounge? to flirt?! with a girl?!” yuji cried, pointing an accusatory finger as he fell to his knees. the pavement cracked beneath him as he slammed his fist into the concrete in despair.
“fushiguro, don’t tell me you’ve gone soft for some pretty girl? we’re here for business!” nobara claimed, crossing her arms.
“they’re your friends you were talking about, ‘gumi?” you hummed, looking at him. you batted your eyelashes with an amused expression.
god, no. he couldn’t spit out the words when he was barely holding on to his composure at the nickname. these people, in the matching uniforms? never met ‘em.
a gust of wind weaved itself through your hair and yuji was at your feet, his incredible speed surprising you enough that you sidestepped right into megumi’s chest. his breath hitched, somewhere between a gasp at the sudden contact and a sigh of disappointment towards yuji’s behavior. nobara was quick behind him, her anger had dissolved into a teasing nature.
humiliation swelled in his chest and lumped in the back of his throat, in the back of his mind he was routing all the ways he could get back at yuji later for the way he was acting.
“you told her about us?!” yuji said, his excitement warming the air around him.
“‘course he did,” nobara smirked. “we are your best friends, aren’t we, ‘gumi?”
megumi sighed. he wouldn’t live that down. “y/n, this is itadori and kugisaki, they’re the other first years at jujutsu tech. this is y/n, we went to middle school together.”
you smiled and offered a finger wave.
“middle school, huh? and you’re still here?” nobara’s eyes sparkled. you wouldn’t admit out loud that the intensity in her grin made your stomach turn. she placed a hand on her chest dramatically, “you get in too much trouble? got held back? i understand the life–“
“you must have the funniest stories about fushiguro!” the pink-haired boy interrupted with his laughter. “did he ever–“
“i need to walk y/n back to her class before she’s late,” megumi cut him off sharply. “head back to the car and i’ll meet you there, after i get back we should get going anyway.”
without a second thought, he grabbed your arm gently and tugged you with him to turn around. you were able to call out a quick, it was nice to meet you! before you were pulled around the corner.
his steps were quicker than yours so his hand made its way to the small of your back as he ushered you to meet his pace and put the distance between you and the gawking seagulls behind him.
your heart stuttered at the contact but you didn’t stop him, and instead leaned closer to his side. that seemed to jolt some sense into him, his fingers tensing and relaxing again on the soft fabric of your uniform and ultimately deciding to stay put. that didn’t make him any less hyper-aware of it, though. he flickered gaze from you to the sidewalk, back to you, and the sidewalk again.
“i’m sorry about them. they’re idiots sometimes,” he mumbled. “most of the time, actually.”
the path to the highschool felt oddly familiar. the trees waved gently in the wind and beckoned him back to his memories of walking you home from school, the warmth of the sunshine on his skin much the same as the warmth that sprouted in his stomach when he was around you.
he always stood straighter when he was beside you, squeezing your hand tightly when crossing the street and tucked you under his arm when passing by anyone he deemed suspicious. which, to a young megumi who saw the world in black and white, was much of the population. in those times where his adrenaline was pumping, he never thought twice about protecting you. even against what you couldn’t see, like curses, strolling through the streets unchecked.
“don’t apologize, ‘gumi. they seem like fun.” you chuckled, rubbing your knuckles gently. you couldn’t blame them for their reactions, nor could you blame your friend for not ever telling them about you. he was always a bit reserved. “i think they’re just excited to learn something about you.”
you had classes with him, and there were often times he would come in late with bloody knuckles and his hair tousled. most days he would tell you why, how they were smoking on school grounds or picking on someone in the cafeteria. other days he wouldn’t, he refused to even give you an idea of the things they said or did, and though it drove you crazy for a few hours you would eventually drop it.
and he got to keep it to himself, the way other boys would talk about you. despite not knowing you, they made their assumptions and boasted about untrue speculations. rumors and comments were short-lived when he was around, and he wondered if it stayed that way after he left.
megumi carried the secret of the jujutsu world on his shoulders, all the unruly death he’d witnessed, his sister’s curse. despite the way he’d grown in the jujutsu world and how desensitized he’d become to some things, they still haunted him. he’d would’ve liked to keep something good a secret too, just for a little while longer.
“yeah, well, i think i’d rather keep you to myself.”
“don’t tell me you’re embarrassed of me.” your teasing tone was in one ear and out the other for megumi. his tongue swelled in his throat as he tripped over his own words. you laughed, and he seemed to relax.
his hand had slipped from your back and rested between you. you found the confidence to grasp the sleeve of his uniform and keep a hold of it comfortably, watching his expression melt into a smile he couldn’t hide behind bitten cheeks.
you weren’t one to ever think you could change megumi fushiguro, though there were many times you were the one repeating in his ear to just let it go so you could go eat lunch together. (on the flip side, there were also times you were chanting his name off the sidelines watching it all unfold on your lunch period like an MMA fight). you never sought to make him a softer, more well-rounded student, nor did you ask him to ever open himself up to you.
but he did, and despite the time passed be still preened his vulnerability to you like an open wound seeking care.
“i missed you, y/n,” megumi said suddenly.
“those jujutsu tech kids can’t replace me, huh?”
he smiled, shaking his head. “it’s not even close.”
the roof of the highschool peaked over the trees ahead.
“i missed you too, ‘gumi.” a question laid on the tip of your tongue, and you quickly swallowed it before it could tumble out. “do you think… that you’ll come by again? when it's not for some school project?”
“i’m sure i could find a reason to.”
you looked up to him, meeting his amorous gaze. it was your turn to blush, scrunching up to hide the bashful smile that threatened to take over. “you have my number, you know. it hasn’t changed.”
megumi nodded. “yeah, things have been… busy, for a while now. it’s hard to get away.”
the two of you closed in on the school’s entrance, still tiptoeing the line of hand-holding. megumi faced you fully now, silent, and blocking the sun’s rays as he stared down at you with his eyes full of adoration. he looked at you like he did on graduation day– a heavy cloud of fear hanging above him, pouring down the terrifying thought he would never see you again.
“call me and tell me all about it, yeah?”
he smirked. “i will.”
he always clung to darker clothes and aesthetics, but you thought he looked best in the sunlight. his dark hair was coated with a navy luster, similar to that of his eyes. you could see his reddening cheeks better, when there wasn’t any shade to hide them.
“thanks for walking me back,” you said, your gaze flickering around his face, soaking in his appearance while still in front of you. he had already changed so much since the last time you saw him.
“it’s not a problem, i’m happy to spend time with you.” megumi paused, reaching for the door handle with a pit in his stomach growing. “i hope i didn’t make you late.”
you smiled. “i think i’ll be okay.”
a beat of silence passed, and your face twisted into one of concentration as you stared him down. a small sigh left your lips, one of surrender as you settled on your decision. he registered the shift in your demeanor and he narrowed his eyebrows as he observed.
you grabbed the lapel of his uniform suddenly and tugged him downward to connect his lips with yours. the initial impact softened when he registered his surroundings and relaxed, molding against your grasp and sliding his hands over the curve of your waist. relief washed over you and you ran your fingers over the nape of his neck. he paused briefly, to catch your reaction as you regained your breathing, and then nudged his nose against your cheek before kissing you again.
megumi’s breathing was quick, excitement drumming through his body as he focused on you, and only you. he never had the luxury of anticipating this, expecting such affection from you was reckless and selfish despite all the times he’d thought of it. here you were, before him, unknowingly giving in to his delicate fantasies.
you pulled away, breathless as you met his eyes. his smile was gentle, expression refrained while his admiration poured into his steel grip on you, keeping you close.
“call me, okay?” you let out a winded laugh, brushing your thumb against his flushed cheek.
megumi nodded, swallowing the desperation that clawed his throat. you stepped away, and he ached for your warmth on his skin again. he was still reeling from the interaction, helplessly watching with an emptiness in his hands as you slipped out of his grasp and opened the door for yourself.
you disappeared, and he was left alone with the resounding click of the door.

bonus
“y/n! oh, they grow up so fast.” gojo cradled nitta’s phone in his hand with a wobbly lip, wiping a theatrical tear from his cheek. a fuming fushiguro was pictured with all his focus aimed towards his friends, with you awkwardly smiling at his side, completely ignorant to nitta’s rapid clicking. gojo swiped through the photos quickly, watching megumi’s mouth snap open and closed over and over. he sighed longingly, “the one who got away.”
nobara leaned forward on her crossed legs, tensely gripping the loungeroom couch. “i knew they had history, fushiguro was totally defensive over her.”
beside her, yuji was perched on the armrest with his eyes blown wide– bearing resemblance to a gargoyle. “yeah, he got all clammy and weird. i’ve never seen him like that before.”
“well,” gojo set the phone down on the coffee table, for all to see. “megumi can be a little rough around the edges, but he’s got his moments.”
“so, what’s she really like? was she shoving people in lockers like fushiguro? i bet they were some sort of sick power couple, she seems like she’s got a dark side.”
their teacher smirked, leaning back in the armchair as he listened to their conspiracies. ‘sick power couple’ was a quite generous interpretation of your and megumi’s younger days– gojo recalled the awkward preteens you were, bumping into each other and melting into a flushed state during study nights (strictly stated by megumi not to be referred to as dates). gojo never, ever helped such situations, often making them worse with a shove or teasing comment at the boy’s expense.
“ha! i doubt it, she was way too nice to us.”
you were moreso a bystander to megumi’s antics, sometimes a cheerleader. but it was still like you to snap, or slap, him back to his senses whenever he got all ‘high and mighty’ like some ‘reactionary douchebag’ –stated in your own eloquence. gojo remembered the times you’d unlock the front door and throw it open with one hand, dragging a frustrated megumi whose physical bruises mirrored the ones on his ego. you’d throw him to the nearest chair and welcome yourself to the apartment’s amenities while he wallowed in silence, both of you waiting for the air to settle and ignoring the presence of his guardian and his amused expression.
“man, fushiguro must be pretty bummed right now.”
the loungeroom door swung open abruptly, the door handle cementing itself in the drywall. megumi presented himself in his rage, his cursed energy fiercely blazing around him and crackling at his fingertips. his expression was dark, eyes immediately drawn to the center coffee table with nitta’s own slideshow presentation of yet another humiliating moment for him.
nobara and yuji were struck with fear, paling in solidarity with the wallpaper. nitta quivered behind them, crouching.
gojo let out a low whistle. “someone’s going through it. don’t tell me she left you on read.”

⋆.ೃ࿔*Gojo.
•you hate gojo, he hates you. Oh boy, just the thought of his white hair irritates your whole being, shakes your bones in anger, his name ever so leaves a bitter taste right on your tongue. It was serious both of you didn't like each other, oh so you thought was the case.
•you see, to gojo. When he sees something he's interested in, he likes to get their attention, well that's exactly what he's doing with you.
•being an annoying piece of shit = your attention.
•you really had no idea why he even started to bother you at some point but it grew to the point that you came to a final choice that you hated the man, absolutely despised him!
•but if you did... Why was it you found yourself enjoying his lips devouring yours.
The sound of sloppy kisses bounces off of the walls as gojo pushed you further more onto the wall behind you in an empty classroom if it was even possible, it was like your lips were the only thing presented to a starved man, which gojo played as at that moment. He was needy, so desperate, his hands roamed all over you, not leaving a spot untouched.
You couldn't believe yourself, absolutely unbelievable. You were arguing him at first and not even a second after you found your lips against his, and surprisingly, his lips felt like heaven when it was shut and only moved against you.
"I hate you so much." You mumbled in between the kisses and he replies, "you're the worst person on the face of the earth." "You suck." "You suck more." "Literally want to kill you." "Already planning your funeral."
Tumblr media
˚ ༘♡Sukuna.
•Oh boy(2), being enemies with him if that's what you call is such a pain in the ass, istg. This man will NEVER stop bothering you, he likes to see you stressed out and angry, but he lowkey thinks it's cute that's why he likes to piss you off.
•his playboy, rebellious antics, is the reason why you hated him, he was bad news, always a troublemaker. He liked to break the rules and well... You liked to go by them not break them, but sukuna found himself interested more on breaking you.
•you intrigued him at some point though, when he started bother you he was legit hating on you but as time flew by, he somehow liked your attention on him.
•and now, these days he started flirting with you, but still a mix with being a pain in the ass, and you were confused wether you liked it or not, because he was... Charming, indeed, but a delinquent.
You placed the book right on the spot on the shelf you took it from back, after reading the title and summary you found no interest to read it for the day, you continued your search in the library, fingers brushing on every books spine, trying to find something interesting to say the least.
And when you did, you took it from the shelf and smiled slightly at your accomplishment, turning around to head to the safest place to read said by you.
Unfortunately, you were met by a big chest in front of you, the familiar scent of his perfume meets your nose and as if on time you rolled your eyes just like that.
"Move, jerk." You harshly bite, glancing up at him to look him in the eye and he stared down at you with that usual smirk of his that you wanted to slap off of him more than ever "and why would I." The pink haired replies, not flustered at all he brings his hand to place on the shelf right beside your head, he leans down to have his head leveled to yours.
"Because you're in the way, are you dumb." You say in a more demanding tone, meaning what you had said, he chuckles mischievously at your statement, "if you weren't so pretty you'd be six feet under the ground, you just piss me off, so fucking bad. The way you run your mouth all the time like, jesus christ woman do you never shut up." He suddenly rants in your face, saying all that with a smirk.
"You think I'm pretty?"
Tumblr media
*ೃ༄Megumi.
•he was mean, not really. He was just brutally honest, serious and you kind of did not like that about him because he was mean to people, he was totes not your type. He was just straight up blank, not a single smile ever can be seen on his face and you found it annoying how someone can look and feel so miserable.
•it was mutual, he found you annoying also. Always running your mouth, like you can never shut up, he was annoyed with people that were loud but you, oh he was annoyed on another level. You go on over and over, over a topic that made no literal sense and the next you were over another topic.
•but maybe the things you found annoying about each other was overcomed by the liking you two had for each other also, and you may never guess what happened next but that's right. You both are officially secretly dating no body knew what or how it happened. The transition was... Complicated, ehe.
"HEY GUMI HAVE YOU SEEN MY SHAMPOO I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE." Yuuji literally yells as he barges into the bathroom with which he assumed only megumi behind the shower curtain, "Yuuji..." Megumi calmly tries to get his attention but no, the pink haired was rather easily distracted that explains why he was unfocused about what megumi was trying to say, he only focused on finding his shampoo, "like I thought it was here, because I literally remember putting it here but i-" "Yuuji, I'm not exactly alone in here..." Megumi was too shy to say, "huh what?" And just like that you peeped through the shower curtains with an innocent smile as if you weren't butt naked inside the shower with your significant other, which turned out to be yuuji's roommate.
"Hey, yuu." You say with a sweet smile, yuuji instantly became flustered and as he was taking his steps back towards the door but still looking at you, " oh uh hi I'll just..." Knocks multiple things over, "...leave you two alone." Knocks more things over, "also I think your shampoo is over there." You pointed right at it but yuuji didn't even take a glance, "um thanks Y/n, I'll just.." *awkward finger guns*.

You sat next to Megumi in a table closest to a window. He had luckily gotten his phone back from the owner who had let them film and recognized the two boys. Currently in front of you was Yuji who was going on about a story of Megumi’s past of middle school delinquency.
“You actually beat people up Megumi?” you asked, only for him to try to hide his face behind the menu, it was kinda cute. “It wasn’t.. just the ones who deserved it, and it was a long time ago anyways.”
“He’ll barely ever admit it, me and Nobara didn’t know till for a school event with our highschool we went to visit middle schools in the area and when we went to Megumi’s these two guys were so scared of him!”
“Can you not?”
You couldn’t help but laugh at their antics, “What made them deserve you beating them up?” You were interested in this ‘past life’ of his. Although still red in the face, he answered, “They were assholes, they pissed me off.” Yuji laughed at Megumi only for Megumi to respond with a grumble. “Well I haven’t known you that long, but you don’t seem like the type to purposely be a bully, so i’m sure they were assholes.”
“Did you know-” Yuji was cut off by the waitress arriving ready to take your guys order, and Megumi had to thank whatever power was out there that he had no other chance to embarrass him in front of you.
After the waitress had left, you decided to continue on the conversation with something less directed at Megumi. “So I don’t think I ever asked your majors, are you both film?” “I am” Yuji answered “It’s fun in all honesty, even with all the editing and camera stuff we got to figure out.” You gave a small hum in return, turning to look at Megumi as he began to speak “Photography, I’ve always enjoyed it.”
“Well it’s good you guys like it. It makes everything better when you enjoy it.”
“Do you like your major y/n?” Megumi asked.
“Yeah, it’s fun and I really enjoy the process! The hardest thing about being in fashion though is probably deadlines, and you have to be able to take criticism, which absolutely kills some people.” Megumi laughs a little at your last statement, “That’s Yuji.” You turned to look at him across the table, seeing him let out a dramatic gasp, then pout. “That’s you too don’t lie! You complained last semester about Haibara because he told you that you can’t just keep submitting pictures of your dogs for like every other project!”
“Shut up.”

I absolutely hate the way fandom keeps misinterpreting this chart, especially in regards to Yuuji and Hakari. They just go "oh someone is bad at learning in a classroom setting? well they must be stupid and an absolute meathead". Zero consideration for why some people might do worse in academic settings or why one school has considerably "smarter" students than the other. Maybe it's not the students fault and maybe test scores aren't everything.
I'm gonna assume this person was just making a general statement about the Tokyo Trio group dynamic that wasn't meant to be that serious and worded it badly. That's why I'm writing this in a separate post. And again, this is more about a broader trend I see every time that chart gets passed around, not this specific person.
It just annoys me so much how they keep hammering in on Yuuji and Hakari being at the bottom and what that must mean about their overall mental capacity. Hakari was mistreated by the school, no wonder he didn't care about tests. In a day-to-day situation he's much smarter than Panda (three kids in a trenchcoat) or Megumi, but obviously that won't show here. Most people get overwhelmed as soon as he so much as attempts to explain his cursed technique and domain, but sure he's the dumb one. This shows he isn't even bad at regular learning topics, he just had no reason to care about this school.
Same with Yuuji. The fanbook this same chart is from shows he's good in regular high school, he just struggles with the more mathematical side of the STEM subjects. Getting physics lessons from Gojo sounds like a nightmare. Which brings me again to the phenomena that the students in Kyoto do overall much better than the one in Tokyo. If you have nobody to properly explain concepts to you, no shit you're not gonna do well and we have heard many times before that Gojo is a bad teacher. Yuuji learns very fast, we've seen it when he is together with Nanami, Todo and Kusakabe, it just all comes down to how you teach him. Although to be fair, the classroom teaching is also done by assistant directors and windows, who are probably too overworked to put much effort into it. So you have naturally the students already good at learning in this type of environment at the top, while everyone else gets left behind.
Besides that, Yuuji and Nobara have always been very good at thinking on their feet, especially when they are together. Just think their teamwork when fighting Eso and Kechizu or Mahito. In Mahito's case they didn't even see each other and it worked. Dumb Nobara figured out the Mahito she was fighting was a clone, dealt considerable damage to him and thereby helped Yuuji immensely. Anticipating the next steps of enemies and allies alike takes intelligence as well as analysing an opponents abilities and weaknesses like when Nobara turned Rot against Kechizu. Dumb little Yuuji is the sole reason there is even a coherent plan to save Megumi right now.
Yuuji and Nobara like to joke around and be goofy while Megumi is more reserved, but that doesn't make him smarter or them dumber that's just a part of their personality. Megumi being too much in his head and not appropriately judging risks and coming up with effective solutions for them was a whole thing he had to work on and overcome. Todo is also a good example that being a bit of a delinquent and silly guy doesn't say anything about smarts. He's probably just better at school learning (being trained by Yuki that would be partially a necessity) and also had better teachers.

pairing: megumi fushiguro x fem!reader warnings/tags: just your typical horny teenager thoughts & 2 idiots in love. you might be an idiot but you're his idiot! word count: 1.8k
-
You had fallen, scraped your face and probably bruised your collarbones. Stupid ice skates. That would be the last time you attempted any highly advanced ice skating maneuver you had seen approximately once on youtube. You gingerly press on the bandage attached to your face, one of many your boyfriend had stocked in his pocket, ready for your inevitable crash.
He’s always been an over thinker, that one. Always prepared for the worst with a penchant towards the negative. It’s so uncharacteristic of the outwardly rough and tumble delinquent you had first met, you never miss an opportunity to regularly joke about the contrast while your boyfriend pointedly ignores you. He’s responsible now. Diligent and cautious to the point of being overbearing. He loves the same though. In the end, he’s still your Megumi.
And now you sit on a bench in the park overlooking the ice skating rink you had taken an embarrassing tumble in, waiting for your boyfriend to come back with a promised hot chocolate. God, you hope you didn’t flash anyone when you fell. Your knees are still stinging from the hit they took.
The white dog lying at your side perks up as Megumi approaches, getting to its feet to greet its black counterpart with a nuzzle.
“How are you feeling?” He asks as he hands you a steaming cup of hot chocolate and takes a seat right next to you. In your eagerness, the scalding heat of the cup almost burns your hands. “Careful,” he grunts. “It’s hot.”
“Yes father,” you say mock seriously, reveling in the pinched look that settles on his face at your words. You want to kiss him, and all the tight lines of his face away. Instead, you gently blow on the surface of the drink to cool it while Megumi eyes the bandage on your face with concern in his dark eyes.
“I’m fine," you reassure him. "Just going to be a little bruised in the morning.” And not even in a good way. You take a sip and audibly sigh and the warm velvet of the chocolate on your tongue. You’d offer some, but Megumi doesn’t like sweet things. You finish the small cup, perfect for warming you back up. You glance at him, licking the chocolate off your lips.
You start. “Well—”
His eyes narrow, suspicious at once, and all too familiar with that tone. You soldier on innocently.
“You could…” you clear your throat, slightly pushing your cheek forward, despite the warmth building in your face. “...kiss it better?”
He stares at you, almost unimpressed.
Your face burns but you refuse to falter as you stare him down right back.
Even you get embarrassed. Rarely, but it happens. He could at least say something! You can take rejection, especially from Megumi. He rarely means it. He just gets embarrassed.
You fall back, ready to stand and pretend you didn’t say anything in the first place, but he takes your wrist and sharply tugs you back down in place, another hand cupping the back of your neck to bring you towards his lips.
It’s a relatively chaste kiss, gentle and firm. So modest, your boyfriend. You could take him by the hair, yank him closer, and make him moan into your mouth. If you really wanted. But Megumi would refuse to look at you for the remaining duration of your date, and it’s hard enough to see him already.
He’s blushing though, and that’s a plus. His face is red as he gazes at you, eyes lowered, flitting from your eyes to your lips, and he’s so close you can count his insanely long eyelashes, and your breaths have become one in the cold. Warmth flutters in the pit of your stomach, and you hate and love the feeling. How stupid it makes you, desperate enough that you might beg for another just to get another dose of that high.
His eyes sharpen as he once again presses forward. You think he might kiss you again, but instead he lowers his head.
His lips brush against the cut right above your collarbone. You can feel your heartbeat hammering against your ribcage, and then—
You jerk away at the sensation, startled. His eyes go wide.
112!!?@>!@>!@@@#????@!!@???
Your hand slaps down on your neck. At the unintelligible shrill mess that erupts from your throat, he freezes, blinking.
You blink. Did he just—!?
“Did you just—” you swallow, shocked at his unusually brazen behavior, “—lick me!?”
His face is flushed. “Yeah,” he forces the words out, quickly regaining composure. “I did.”
Now you’re embarrassed, albeit a little pleased. “Oh.”
“I was going to—” he bites off his words, looking anywhere but at you. “Nothing,” he says quickly.
Oh no he doesn’t. “If you did it, then it’s only fair that I get to do it too.”
Megumi looks as if he’s contemplating all the series of events and decisions that have led him to this conversation. “What are you even saying?” His words are sharp with embarrassment. His ears are red. “Just forget it.”
You grab him by his shirt and wrench him towards you. He could easily escape your grasp, but he doesn’t. He relaxes, no longer as tense.
He thinks you’re going to kiss him.
You swerve last second towards his neck, find the flesh of his neck, and bite. You feel his body jump, the rigid snap of his shoulder, and then you smile smugly.
It’s his turn to gawk at you. “Y-you…” he seems at a loss for words, torn between glaring at you and shaking his head.
You can already see the indent of your teeth, a ring of red that stands out starkly from the pale smoothness of his neck.
“Now we’re even.” Satisfied, you stand and face him. You take the scarf wrapped around your neck and wrap it around Megumi’s. “There,” you say, with a small laugh. You press a small kiss to the tip of his nose. You can’t help it. “Now we can protect your modesty.”
He looks like he’s given up at any attempt to reprimand you. His expression settles on resignation. Well, he knew what he was signing up for, didn’t he? Honestly, acting as if he hadn’t given you hickies for days on end when you had told him some baseball player at your school had confessed to you with flowers of all things.
You turn on your heels to trash the plastic cup in your hand. When you come back, unfortunately, the dogs are gone. Your scarf is in Megumi’s hand. Before you can say anything, he wraps it back around your neck.
“Take it,” he says roughly. “You’re barely wearing anything.”
Now that he mentions it, the cold biting wind of winter feels even colder on your bare legs. You’re used to it by now. Japanese high school uniform regulations had little leeway. You had petitioned the school board of your high school to allow pants to no avail.
You could say you regret wearing a skirt in winter, but you had seen the way Megumi’s gaze had dropped to your legs for a good minute, so you really don’t. Worth it.
“You sure? Your neck is kinda scandalous.”
“And whose fault is that,” he replies flatly, readjusting the scarf around your neck. His hand comes up to gently cup the bandaged scrape on your face, eyes fond, and you can't quite feel the cold anymore. Just warmth.
“Well I won’t say no," you force out. "I’m freezing! I wore this skirt just for you, after all.”
As if reminded, his eyes flicker to your legs. You bite the inside of your cheek from grinning. You take his arm into yours and lean into him as you start to lead him to a less crowded area of the park.
“You know,” you say idly, “most boyfriends are controlling about what their girlfriend wears. Mika-chan and her boyfriend got into a hugeee fight because he made her cover up at the beach! Said that some guys were looking at her funny, and that it was her fault, can you believe it?”
“Wear whatever you want,” Megumi says plainly, lips verging on a frown. “I can fight.”
You laugh, leaning into his warmth. Some things, it seems, never change. “That’s not the right answer Megumi.” There’s a teasing lilt to your smile. “You should tell me to change! And then I’d say are you sure you want me to? I wore a really cute matching set today, and if you’re really good I don’t mind going to the bathroom and giving you a peek—”
“Alright,” he grinds out, flustered to the tips of his ears. “You’ve made your point!”
He’s just so easy sometimes. You can’t help it. You wonder what it would take for Megumi to actually take you up on your offer though. You weren’t joking. But, to save your boyfriend any further embarrassment, you decide on a change of subject.
“So,” you start. “When do I get to meet Itadori and Kugisaki?”
“...”
You poke him in the side. “Don’t ignore me!”
Out of the corner of his eye, he glances at you. You stare expectantly back.
“...I took Itadori to Akiba.”
“Akiba?” Interesting choice of place. The last time you had been in Akiba it was with friends to go to some new neon arcade. You had been flagged down in the middle of the street and asked to apply to some maid cafe. You contemplated it briefly, if only to be able to show Megumi a picture of you in a maid costume. “Did you go shopping for something perverted? An ero-game or something?”
It’s a true testament to his will that he doesn’t flat out ignore you. “No.”
You shrug. “I wouldn’t blame you if you looked.”
You’ve been in one or two of those r18 stores. Bought a game here and there. No judgment.
“Not interested.”
“Hm. I see.” Your lips twitch. “And Kugisaki?”
“Shopping in Ameyoko.”
The girl’s got taste. Ameyoko was a thrift paradise. She has your approval. “I can’t wait to meet her.”
Megumi looks like he’d rather the earth swallow him whole than have the two of you meet. If anything it makes you even more determined to meet this female classmate of your boyfriend’s. You already know you’d like her.
“Alright, alright, I’ll stop hassling you about them.” You observe the pigeons gathered around a frozen fountain off to the side. “Thank you for indulging me today,” you say, and you mean it. You know Megumi could care less about ice skating and Christmas trees and the romance of it all. You know he would prefer to be indoors with a nice book and some tea like an old man. “Even though you hate crowds and PDA and loud noises—”
“I don’t mind.” He swallows, eyes darting away when you catch him looking at you in an uncharacteristic act of shyness. “Not when I’m with you anyway.”
You mock sigh, despite the heat in your cheeks. “You’re too much. If you keep this up, I might really have to pull you into the bathroom and have my way with you.”
He chokes.

At least once a week, You, Nobara, and Yuuji meet up in your bedroom when everyone else in the manor is asleep. Yuuji likes to call these get-togethers the 'Anti-Zenin club meetings.' As expected, the main topic talked about during these 'club meetings' is either new information on the Zenin family or how your trials went. In some messed up way- scheming against a whole family late at night reminds you of the sleepovers you used to share with your friends when you were younger.
"I smell new jewelry. Is this from 'lover boy?' It's not so bad to look at" Nobara teased, her finger grazing the pendant on your necklace given by Megumi.
"He gave it to me on his birthday, it use to belong to his mom" you explained.
"So he gave you his late mother's necklace?" Nobara questioned, her glance bouncing off of you to Yuuji, giving him the most devious smile. "Looks like someone has a crush on Y/n, Kugisaki" Yuuji teased, covering his mischievous smile with his palm. "Careful Y/n, he might actually mean 'I do' at the wedding" Nobara added.
"Shut up- both of you" you huffed, cheeks burning with embarrassment, throwing a pillow at Nobara- only for her to catch it with the same delinquent smile.
"But he did tell you it was possible for him to love you- romantically, right?" Yuuji questioned, his tone more serious than it was five minutes ago. "Yeah but he was weird about it- he said something about 'not knowing how to love someone the right way.' Whatever that means" you explained.
Yuuji took a moment to think of his words, debating in his mind if this were the right moment. "Maybe there is another way for these trials to stop" Yuuji uttered, his voice with a hint of embarrassment.
"Which is?" you asked, somewhat annoyed.
"Well...No one wants to hurt someone they're in love with right?" Yuuji confessed, his eyes glued to a wall, too nervous to look at your reaction.
"Excuse me- You're kidding- tell me you're kidding. Nobara, please tell Yuuji that he's crazy for thinking that I seduce the son of the Zenin family- so he may or may not  spare me from tests, that I have been passing" you argued. To your disappointment, Nobara remained silence. "Don't tell me you agree-" you laughed in disbelief.
"You've only finished two out of ten tests, Y/n. I mean- what if you're biting off more than your chew?" Nobara explained. "What if he makes them even harder?" you argued.
"Why would he do that if he was in love with you" Nobara countered, slightly raising her voice.
"I know- I'm just worried. During my last trial- he was very adamant that I wouldn't want to be loved by him for some reason  " you sighed, in defeat.
"Think about it this way, Y/n" Yuuji spoke up, walking over to you, sitting next to you on your bed, thighs almost touching.
"Wouldn't revenge on the Zenin family hurt Megumi even more if he came from the women he loved?" Yuuji suggested, his tone lingering in your ear. With that simple realization, all the fears inside your head formed into one solo thought,
You must find a way to make Megumi Fushiguro to fall in love with you.
---
It's been at least a week since you had a trial- or even seen Megumi. While you're grateful that you're not having to go through deadly tests, you're getting worried about whether he's scheming.
You feel much safer when you know what he's doing- rather than him being stuck in his room. You have no idea what's going on in his mind this past week... Well, it's not like you ever had a clue what goes on in his brain.
According to the servant's gossip, he's been coup up in his room, not allowing anyone to enter, daring to raise his voice if a servant even dares to step foot into his room to ask if he'd like tea. So this week has just been servants leaving his breakfast, lunch, and dinner on a spotless silver platter in front of his door.
You asked Maki if she had a clue on what was going on behind his doors.
"When Megumi likes this it's best to let him be. Besides, if it was really important he was smart enough to let me know" Maki sighed, crossing her arms.
You really tried to leave him alone, waiting for his phase to pass. But you're losing sleep at night, dreading if he's planning some sick trial.
It was the middle of the night, you were lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, hands clutching your blanket, your body exhausted but your mind refusing to sleep.
God- it's time to put an end to this madness.
You got up, not bothering to change out of your nightgown as you made your way to Megumi's bed chambers. You paused in front of his door, there was no way in hell he wasn't going to be upset with you.
But do you care? Eh- he's done worse.
Not bothering to knock, you slowly opened the door, a lingering creek sound from it, making you cringe. There you saw Megumi, instantly sitting up from his bed due to the noise, chest heaving, body sweaty, cheeks red, hair damp, the damp towel falling off his forehead.
"Oh- it's you" Megumi panted, his voice hoarse, falling back down on his bed.
"Get out" he mumbled, waving you off. "I'm only here to check up on you- I haven't seen you for a week. Are you unwell...I mean- you look ill" you questioned.
"I'm fine. Go back to bed, it's late" Megumi uttered before erupting into a coughing fit, causing you to rush towards him.
"You're not fine. You're burning up" you argued, laying the back of your hand on his forehead, only for him to swat away like an annoyed cat.
"It's nothing I can't handle, Y/n. Go back to your room" Megumi sighed. "What did you tell me before your birthday dinner... Oh right, 'I'm your fiancé. You can't hide these types of things from me.' So let me help you" you quoted, using Megumi's words against him, his eyes narrowing in annoyance.
"It would be a pain if you'd get sick as well, especially if it were my fault" Megumi mumbled, slightly embarrassed as he pulled his comforter tighter around him.
"Well, unlike you- I don't mind people helping me if I get sick, so I'll be fine" you replied.
"Now stay here, I'll make you some tea" you advised.
"It's not like I could got anywhere else to go" Megumi grumbled.
---
You helped Megumi sit up, carefully placing the white floral tea cup into his hands and then stepping away.
"ᵀʰᵃⁿᵏ ʸᵒᵘ" he mumbled.
"What was that?" you teased
"Thank you, Y/n" Megumi huffed, blowing air to cool his tea. "Oh, it's nothing. I couldn't just let a person who's sick take care of themselves" you explained.
Yeah- but you also  can't exactly pass a opportunity like this...not when you're desperately trying to get on his good side so you can get a 'get out of jail' card for that fucked up family tradition.
"I'm usually very capable of taking care of myself when I'm unwell. I guess this time is different because of I've been more stressed lately" Megumi confessed, reveling in the warmth of the cup filled with hot tea.
"You're capable of nursing yourself back to health? Is that because Zenins are 'oh so strong and powerful?" you teased. "I have experience, my sister- Tsumiki. She was often sick during most of our childhood" Megumi answered, tone strangely monotone for a person who confessed to having a sickly sister-acting as if it was normal situation to be in.
"I didn't know you had a sister like that" you commented, voice traced with pity. Megumi looked over at you, a subtle smile on his lips, "She's not dead, Y/n. She's not my biological sister either. She just came with the package when my dad decided to marry her mom. After they split, I don't really see her much. I heard from my old man that she's staying at an institution where they can monitor her health" Megumi explained.
"Sorry- you just made her sound...well dead" you replied.
Before Megumi could utter a word, a yawn released from your mouth, the lack of sleep from your anxieties finally catching up with you. "You're tired" he commented. "Yeah- I've been having some trouble sleeping lately. I should get back to bed now" you replied, getting up to walk towards the door.
"Don't," Megumi muttered, leaning over, holding your forearm, stopping you in your tracks.
"Is something wrong?" you asked, slight anxiety lingering in your voice,
"It's my fault you haven't been getting sleep. I should have personally assigned you a quieter room in the castle- "
"What are you trying to say here?" you questioned.
"You're not getting sleep because it's easier to hear the forest noises in your bedroom. Why else would you not be getting sleep? "Megumi explained, narrowing his eyes in confusion.  You hesitated before replying to Megumi...because you can't exactly say
'Oh no- you're wrong. I haven't gotten any sleep because I thought you were planning this crazy death trap that would be probably hurt me in ways more painful than death. But yeah I guess I could hear an occasional wolf howl every other night.'
Because if you said that any sentimental in this conversation- even if it was little - would probably be destroyed. So instead, you said "I have- but it's no big deal. I'm getting use to it."
"If you can't sleep in your room, I rather you sleep in mine."
And with those simple words, your face boiled in embarrassment, mind being filled with every dirty thought imaginable. Megumi's face turned a sudden red as he took in realization on what his words have done to do.
"I'm not planning to have sex with you- Y/n. D-do you really think so low of me?" Megumi huffed, adverting his eyes from yours.
"Beside the Zenin family highly against sex before marriage. I get enough shit for being a bastard child" Megumi added, somewhat easing your concerns.  "Swear " you uttered.
"Swear what?" Megumi questioned.
"Swear you're not going to touch me" you added, embarrassed at your own words.  "Would you prefer if my hands were tied up while you sleep?" Megumi replied, sarcastically.
He turned to his side, "I swear, I will not lay a finger on you" he mumbled. You hesitated before turning off the gas lamp at his night table, slowly easing onto his bed, his back facing you. You didn't dare to fall asleep before he did, so you stay awake till you knew it were impossible for him to still be awake as well.
You heart almost stopped as you watched him turn in his sleep, his closed eyes scrunched as he shifted to face towards you.
Shamefully there was one thought that appeared in your head,
You could kill him right now by getting on top of him, wrapping your hands around his pretty throat and not go through the trials anymore. You could wake up Nobara and Yuuji and just run away-
But you're not a killer, Y/n. So you closed your eyes, and Megumi was right- his room was much quieter than your room, only taking a few minutes for your body to ease into a deep sleep.
You woke up, a strange warmness on your body, you tilted your head and there was Megumi, his chin resting on the top of your head, legs tangled with yours, arm laying around your waist, peacefully sleeping. Your mind instantly went into a internal panic,
God if Nobara or Yuuji was here they'd never let you live this down.
You slowly pulled yourself away from Megumi, thankful that he didn't wake up, only grumbling in his sleep.  You tiptoed out of his room, carefully opening the door and slipping out.
You walked down the hall, trying to get back into your room to change out of your nightgown, only to be interrupted by a sudden force bumping into you, causing you to fall on your bottom. You looked up to see the culprit of your fall, a slightly messy dark hair, sleepy eyed boy in the same knight uniform as Yuuji.
"I am so sorry, are you okay?" the man asked, lending you his hand to help you stand up. You dusted your nightgown, "I'm alright" you replied.
The man took a good look at you, noticing the expensive material of your nightgown, "Yo-you're princess Y/n, right?" he asked, his voice stuttering as he realized the value of his mistake.
"That's correct" you laughed, amused by his behavior. "I-I'm so sorry, your majesty. I didn't mean to bump into you- you see I'm actually a new knight and I haven't exactly learned my way around the castle. So I got distracted and I wasn't looking-" The knight rambled on.
"It's okay, you're forgiven- uh... I'm sorry I don't know your name" you replied, slightly embarrassed at your realization. "Oh- it's Yuta."
"Yuta Okkotsu"

the promise ring thing sounds so cute omg! could i req megumi with his childhood love they're just innocent lil kids (well not that little maybe like 12-13 ish?) and he just thinks reader is ,, magical and he's maybe seen or read sm that talks about giving someone you love a ring so he gives reader a cute ring, maybe a ring pop?
Ringtober Masterlist
Notes: I think you wanted a scene where he actually gives reader the ring but I just thought the idea of him buying the ring with Gojo was so cute so I did this instead
Warnings: n/a just fluff
Characters involved: Megumi Fushiguro, Gojo Satoru
Fem reader, you/yours
A promise ring wasn't a light commitment. Or at least, that was what the store advertising those flashy rings with colourful crystals had said.
It was a token of your undying affection for the person you gifted it to, a symbol of your promise to stay by their side and cherish them for as long as you knew each other.
But most importantly, it was a promise—a promise to one day solidify your relation into something more, to create a permanent bond of mutual love and trust.
And how could a gullible tween like Megumi ever turn down such compelling advertising?
He didn't care that Gojo let out innumerable coos and taunts as Megumi excitedly ogled at the glass display, or that any of his schoolmates could walk past that store at that moment and witness the great Fushiguro Megumi gawking over a Sanrio ring.
He wanted that ring, no- needed it.
"Gojo-"
"Not gonna happen, kid."
Megumi couldn't help the annoyed frown that tugged on his lips. Gojo had given him a clear ultimatum when they stopped by that shop, if Megumi wanted the ring, he had to tell Gojo why.
Normally that wouldn't have been much of an issue, except Gojo knew you. He had seen you at least a handful of times helping Megumi after class or chastising him for beating up yet another kid.
And knowing the insufferable jujutsu sorcerer, he would most definitely pull some embarrassing stunt if he knew who Megumi's crush was.
His crush. The thought itself was a little surprising.
Fushiguro Megumi, a delinquent known for being a troublesome loner, had a crush on you, the smart, pretty and absolutely perfect girl who was unfortunate enough to be his seat partner.
And he wanted to give you a promise ring.
His cheeks dusted pink as he envisioned himself giving you the pink and white my melody ring that would no doubt have you giggling in delight. The sight earned another mocking taunt from Gojo as he whipped out his phone to click a quick picture, making Megumi glare at the black device.
He would work on deleting that photo later, but for now, Megumi needed to get that ring.
A sigh fell from his lips as Megumi dejectedly muttered your name. He had tried saying it as softly as he could, but judging by the wide grin on Gojo's face, the white-haired man had defintely heard.
"How adorable, you're crushing on that cute girl who helps you with your homework."
Megumi didn't bother gracing him with a response, instead moving to enter the shop. He had to secure the my melody ring before someone else stole it!
"Hey, Megumi-kun, think I should put in a good word for you?"
Gojo's sing-song taunt made Megumi throw a murderous glare over his shoulder, earning a loud laugh from Gojo.
"Oh come on, what's with that look? I would an amazing wingman."
Gojo continued with his teasing even after the two successfully left the shop with the ring, but Megumi couldn't find it in himself to feel as annoyed a he usually would.
Instead, he felt a swarm of nervous butterflies run rampant in his belly.
Megumi was finally going to confess to you with a promise ring. He just hoped you wouldn't turn him down.
