“This sucks,” Megumi mumbled, adjusting himself so his head laid on a softer part of your shoulder. “Being cuddled up next to me sucks?” you joked. “No my fucking headache.”

You exhaled a breath, and although your boyfriend may have been in pain, you couldn’t help but smile at the way he continued nuzzling himself into you. He had been like this for the past two days after the ‘incident’. You gently brushed your fingers through his hair trying to soothe whatever tension you could. “Well, at least you seem a little better today.” Megumi just grumbled softly, closing his eyes and letting you basically pet him.

After a couple more minutes, he shifted again, this time moving up to meet your face and stealing a kiss from your lips. “Sorry about keeping you here for so long,” he whispered against them, before kissing you again. “Hm, I don’t mind.”

Just then the door to his room opened, causing you two to quickly move apart. “We’re back!” Yuji announced, “And we brought pizza!” All though his excitement, Megumi just kept glaring him down, not even bothering to sit up until after you did.

“Take it out, we’re not eating on my bed.” Yuji just shushed him, completely ignoring his statement and setting the box down over the covers. “It’s okay, you need your rest we’ll take care of it Megs.”

“Shut the fuck up.”

Nobara just snickered, and you almost joined her if it wasn’t for the fact Megumi was right next to you. “You couldn’t have gotten anything easier to digest?” Megumi asked Yuji. “Woah, I just got like a strong sense of deja vu,” Yuji said.

Megumi just ignored him, staring down the now opened pizza box. “Need help little baby?” Nobara teased him. He threw her a glare, but that did very little to actually disturb her. “Open up, here come the airplane!” Yuji exclaimed, picking up a piece of pizza and shoving it in his direction. Although Megumi was fed up with their actions, hearing your laugh beside him made it worth it.

“Give me that,” he said while snatching it out of the others hand.

If Megumi really thought about it, besides his condition, and even if he was kind of annoyed with their behaviour, he wouldn’t have this any other way, with you by his side and his friends companionship in front of him.

After eating, once Nobara and Yuji got distracted argueing over what movie they wanted to put on Megumi’s tv, you pressed a kiss to Megumi’s forehead. “I love you Megs.”

“Love you too Y/n.”

🪡Chapter Thirty-four: Show

You walked past a couple of models and students, trying to find him. Moving by the side of yet another collection you finally saw Megumi. He was standing there, simply looking around taking in his surroundings. “Megs!” you announced. He slightly jumped in response, then recollected himself once realizing it was you. “Y/n don’t scare me like that.”

“Sorry, but just wanted to see if everything’s good. I just checked in with Yuki and Ino and everything’s in place, do you feel alright?”

Megumi looked around, before sighing and wrapping his arms around your waist, burying his face into your shoulder, of course being careful to not mess anything up.

“Megumi?”

“Hm, yea i’m good, just a little nervous.”

You patted his back in response, pressing a quick kiss to the side of his face that was still visible to you. “You’ll do fine, and if you do happen to mess up I won’t be mad,” you reassured. “Won’t mess up, just don’t wanna embarrass myself.” You laughed a little, while he stood up right once again.

“15 minutes till start time!” someone in the crowd announced.

“Okay well, I’ll see you after, good luck Megs,”

“Mhm, take care love,” he replied in a more hushed tone, “See you after.”

“Who are those people?” You whispered to Maki next to you. “Which ones, the ones in the front?” You hummed in response, signalling that she was right. “They’re photographers, but there is also a few scouts I heard, then of course the ‘judges’ who are helping grade.

“Ah, okay, i’m kinda starting to freak out a bit.”

“Don’t Y/n! I’ve seen your designs and they look super cool, you’ll pass for sure!” You turned towards Yuji next to you, giving him a smile. “Thanks Yuji.”

“No problem!”

A couple minutes after the official start time the lights began dim around you, and brightening on the walkway. “Oh my god it’s starting!” you heard Nobara whisper-shout.

A few collections had gone by now, and you sat with anxiety waiting for yours to show up. Once Yuta walked out, you nudged Maki next to you. “Look it’s yours!” you excitedly whispered. “Yea, I know,” Maki mumbled in response, and although she seemed nonchalant about the whole thing, the slight fidgeting with the end of the skirt she wore was enough to tell you that she was also feeling a little nervous.

After Maki’s finished up, your breath was caught in your throat at seeing Megumi walk out. Transfixed on watching him walk down, you had your complete focus on him. For a split second you met his gaze, and had flashback of the first time you saw him walk during the audition.

“Lovestruck much?” Yuji said while nudging your side. Maki on your other side was fighting back her snicker at your expression. “Oh shut up, he made eye contact with me!”

“Y/n you’re literally dating him.”

“..And here in front of me is fashion student and designer, Y/n L/n!” Yuji exclaimed, holding up his phone’s camera in your direction in front of him. You turned around and gave the camera a small wave. “They’re dating my best friend, and he actually modeled for them, that’s how they got to know each other!” Yuji spoke indirectly to no one but his little vlog he was recording. “We’re gonna go give him flowers.”

You finally reached the door they had set up in the way of the official backstage and the hallway you guys were walking down. Yuji continued holding up his phone recording. “This is the backstage, we’re about to see all the models.” You opened the door, and with his free hand Yuji held it open letting you both in.

“Do you see him?” you asked as you both made your way through the crowd. “Uhh..” Yuji began, “Wait yeah look!” Yuji pointed, catching his hand in the frame of the video were he points to Megumi leaning against the railing of a short set of stairs.

“Megumi!” You called out, he looked towards you as you walked up the small steps, engulfing him in a hug, then backing up and handing him the roses.

“Say hi to the vlog Megs!” Yuji spoke up, recording from below you two. In response he just turned around, trying to hide the blush on his face, when the collar of the shirt doesn’t do enough, he uses the flowers once he feels Yuji approaching. “Don’t be shy!” You laughed at their antics, finding Megumi’s reaction the best.

“Shut up get that thing out of my face,” Megumi said trying to continue to turn away from Yuji. “Don’t be a grump c’mon!”

In an attempt to snatch his phone away from him, Megumi reached over, however completely forgetting about the lifted up step, causing him to trip over it. With that he tumbled over Yuji, both of them falling backwards. All the camera caught was Megumi’s hand grabbing it before hearing both of them exclaim as they fell, and your gasp, followed by a worried “Megumi!”

“Oh my, what happened here?” You turned towards Gojo who had showed up at probably the worst possible time, a taken aback Utahime besides him. “You’ve gotta be kidding me,” she grumbled, watching as the two boy groaned attempting to get up.

“Sorry,” you apologized on all your behalfs.

🪡Chapter Thirty-three: Rehearsal

“These are actually really good,” Megumi said, digging his fork through another piece of the pancake. “Not too sweet?” you asked him.

“Not too sweet,” he confirmed.

“Are you excited for the show?” Megumi put a hand over his mouth, making sure not to completely swallow the food he had in his mouth before answering. “More nervous, but everything’s been going good at the past rehearsals, so hopefully this will go over well.”

“You’ll do great, you won’t mess up promise,” you smiled at him, returning your attention to your food.

“Hope so.”

“Looks good to you?” you asked Megumi as you helped adjust his hair a little more. “Yeah, looks better honestly.” You smiled at him, wrapping your arms around his shoulders giving him a kiss on the cheek.

“Y/n can you help me out, the hair in the back doesn’t wanna stay,” Ino spoke up a few feet besides you two. “Hm? oh yeah sure.”

You stood up straight, moving over to help style his hair back. “Thanks, sorry didn’t wanna bother but I couldn’t get it.”

“Yeah don’t worry, I’m not the best either at this but we have help around too just in case.”

Just as you were finished adjusting Ino’s hair, Megumi spoke up “Y/n I just noticed this parts uneven.” You looked over, stepping back towards Megumi. “Which part?” you asked placing your hand on his shoulder.

He stared at the mirror for a second, before meeting your eyes in it. “Oh never mind, I think I was just looking at it wrong.”

“Y/n!”

You turned around to the calling of your name, seeing Inumaki spin Yuki around towards you. “Look Y/n your friend did a great job! I love it!” Yuki announced. “Wow, you do look great Yuki!”

“And they said it wasn’t the same thing,” Inumaki nodded his head towards another station where Maki and Nobara where currently working.

You saw Maki and a volunteer assistant happily working on Kirara, with Choso looking up in your guys direction, eyes on Yuki, and Yuta happily chatting away with them. Next to them you could see Nobara argueing with Sukuna trying to get something on his face but his hand kept swatting it away. A nervous looking Kamo slowly inching away from them.

“Alright, we can chill for a few, we’ve got 10 minutes before needing to be in the backstage.”

“Good luck,” you told Megumi. “It’s still just practice, save it for the actual show.” You both leaned against a wall in the backstage area, seeing everyone file in to get lined up in order.

“You know the project?” Megumi brought up.

“Photography?”

“Yeah,” Megumi smiled at you, “I got an A, said it was nice to see me try something different.”

“Different? In what way?” you questioned

“He said it was nice seeing a more personal touch from me.” You looked at him, giving him quick peck on the cheek. “Good, you deserved it, it was beautiful, well at least to me.”

“Get lined up you can have your moment later,” Maki said approaching you two, “We gotta start heading out,” she told you. You raised your hand slightly, “See you in a few then.” Megumi returned the gesture, “See you.”

🪡Chapter Thirty-two: Portraits of love

You approached the backstage stairs, deciding to meet up with Megumi since it had been longer than you expected for him to show up at the front. You saw people packing up there stuff, or trying to find their phones from where they had left them in the corner of the backstage.

“Hey.” You looked at where the voice came from only to see Megumi begin to head towards you.

“Hi Megumi,” you were about to mess with him over the fact he still hadn’t told you his project, until he was about to begin walking down the three short steps off into the backstage, when he almost tripped. You jumped in reaction, hoping to stop his fall. He caught himself on the second step, grabbing onto your lifted up arms. “Woah, hey be careful,” you told him. He readjusted his stance and walked off the last step. “That thing is lifted up,” he mumbled, turning his head back to look at how part of the stairs were lifted above the floor. “The stairs are, but hey be more careful I can’t have you getting hurt before the actual thing.”

Megumi just looked at you, before giving you a small smile, “Relax, won’t let you down.”

“Y/n! Fushiguro!” You two turned around to look at who was calling your names. Yuki approached the both of you, “You guys ready?”

You waved goodbye to Choso and Yuki with one hand, the other holding Megumi’s as you walked off together to where he had previously parked. Dinner was fun, with Yuki being herself, and Choso’s obliviousness to some things just made you silently nudge Megumi throughout the night. Overall they were fun to be around, you hoped you guys could do this again at some point.

“So..” Megumi began, squeezing your hand in his for a second, “Do you want to know what the project was?” You looked towards him, subconsciously tightening your grip on his hand. “Yes of course?! Obviously??” Megumi laughed a little, pulling his key out of his pocket, unlocking his car as you both approached it. “Alright, i’ll tell you in a second” he said while opening the door to your side of the car. You got in, excited to finally hear what the photos he had been taking of you two meant. Once you saw him get into the drivers seat, you spoke up.

“So?”

“Look at them first,” he unlocked his phone, pulling up a file and handing it to you. You scrolled through them, one being of you adjusting his shirt in the fashion room, the other on your cafe date, one of you after the time you two kissed with the lighting of outside reflecting on you, the fourth one of you guys the night you watched the film project, and the final one of you working on a sketch of him in his design during the first rehearsal. You hadn’t even noticed he had taken that last one.

“Ok so..” you stared at the images, thinking about the theme and all the hints he had given you.

“What do you think of them?”

You looked through the photos, still thinking but not too lost in thought to not have heard him. “Megumi these are beautiful, but what was the assignment?” You looked up from his phone to meet his eyes.

“Candid portraits of love.”

Your eyes widen a little, before your expression slowly mimicked the one he was making, a smile adorning his lips.

“Megumi,” you began.

“I just, I love you y/n, you don’t have to say it back or anything, but I just wanted to show you what you meant to me, I hope I executed it the way I wanted to,” You could see pink rising to his face, he looked so cute in front of you, so pretty.

“Megumi, this is one of the sweetest things ever done, oh my god I love you,” you put his phone down, holding his face and kissing him. You could feel his smile grow against your lips. He pulled away first, but not moving more than a few inches from you.

“Im glad you liked it.”

🪡Chapter Thirty-one: Out of guesses

“Im starting to think you’re just using me to get on Gojo’s good side,” Megumi said as he walked back to you. “Damnit, you figured me out,” you replied playing along. He sat down in the chair next to yours, sighing, “Your plan didn’t work, said he can’t tell even his favorite that.” You laughed, “Just casually addressing you as the favorite?” Megumi just hummed in response.

You felt a buzz from your phone, looking down to see that Nobara had sent you a message saying they’d arrive. “They’re here, c’mon.” You got up grabbing his hand and bringing him along to stand with you.

“Thirty minute break, foods available!” Gojo announced as everyone moved into their own little groups.

“You guys did really good!” You announced, “Thanks,” Yuta replied while high fiving Panda. You approached Megumi, giving him a peck on his cheek. “You actually did do great, even Maki said so.”

You all approached the tables where the food gojo ordered had been set, just grabbing whatever you liked from it.

“I was scared it was gonna be bad, but this actually looks good,” Nobara spoke up, you walked by her side after having gotten what you wanted. “Yea-” you were cut off by Nobara letting out a surprised yelp, tumbling forward, although managing to grab a hold of her balance so neither her plate or herself fell. You turned towards Nobara, catching the sight of Sukuna laughing. “You-” Nobara began only to be cut off by him. “Wasn’t my fault you didn’t see my foot.”

“Fuck you Sukuna,” Nobara grumbled, and probably what’ve hit him if it wasn’t for her hands currently occupied carrying her plate. “Yeah whatever, was there any food left?” He looked up to you, nodding his head towards the tables.

“Yeah but you gotta go grab it now before the people wanting seconds get to it,” Megumi said, appearing by your side. “Megumi! What’s up,” Sukuna held out his hand, while megumi took a second, before realizing what he wanted and reacted, dabbing him up. You almost laughed at how awkward Megumi seemed, just staring at Sukuna after.
