#kh4challenge Day 6: A World to Revisit

It would be cool to go back to Agrabah, Atlantica, Fairy Tale Kingdom Kingdom of Corona, and/or Deep Jungle. (Does the current copyright situation with the Tarzan books make that feasible? Whatever, it's a fan idea, so I can say whatever I want here.) Agrabah could cover events from the series or Aladdin and the King of Thieves. (Personally, I would like to go into the former events before the saga's conclusion.) Atlantica, mostly just for more of Sora and Ariel being friends (I mean, this would all be for friendship moments between the main characters and the Disney characters), but we could have more scenes with Prince Eric, and go between the land and sea kingdoms. KoC would of course cover the series, as would Deep Jungle (Kerchak would have died offscreen so Tarzan would be king of the jungle now).

As for villains we could face:

Agrabah: Mozenrath would be my go-to villain for a future Agrabah visit, but King of Thieves would of course have the villain be Sa'Luk. Atlantica would be menaced by the Evil Manta, magnificently voiced by Tim Curry. The Corona enemies would primarily be Zhan Tiri and Cassandra (the latter of whom would also serve as a party member at the end and possibly at the beginning). The Deep Jungle threat could be either Queen La of Opar or Tarzan's chief rival Tublat.

Maddie Plays KH1: Part 5

Deep Jungle

Alright, our first Disney world that really feels like a, well, world!

I forgot that Donald and Goofy aren’t quite friends with Sora, yet! X’D The sad part is after their argument crash-lands the Gummiship, Sora begins describing his ‘two friends’ to Tarzan, almost saying Donald and Goofy before hesitating and switching to Riku and Kairi instead. He probably feels like Donald and Goofy care more about finding Mickey than finding Riku and Kairi... which at this point is true. :(

Here we see another vision of Kairi! With Tarzan’s gorilla speech (which kinda makes it look like he’s swearing XD), we’ll find out later that he’s saying “friends in our hearts”, foreshadowing where Kairi is!

On the slide projector we see a picture of Hollow Bastion, which Sora recognizes ‘from his dreams’, despite never having left Destiny Islands. At first it made me wonder if Sora might also be from a different world, but he’s actually experiencing Kairi’s memories, since she’s in his heart! It’s further proof that Kairi does remember her childhood!

It’s pretty funny that a big game hunter like Clayton doesn’t care that he just met a talking dog and duck. XD It makes more sense in the more fantasy-based worlds that someone wouldn’t bat an eye at a pair of talking animals, but it’s funny whenever the characters from more normal worlds simply don’t care. I guess you could chalk it up to a general ‘weirdness-censor’. :P

Okay, Deep Jungle is definitely a bit of a pain to navigate. >_< I remember getting very lost running around this world, the first time around. Jumping on hippos, swinging on vines, KH1 really has that early 2000s PS2 era janky controls. The stiff jumping is especially giving me flashbacks to that Harry Potter PC game from 2001.

One part which absolutely confused me is the room where the black fruit appears. The game wants me to hit the flower buds with magic to make them bloom, yet doesn’t tell me why. Looking it up online, apparently all it does is make it easier to destroy the fruit... Not that the game tells you that. >_<

Alright, here’s an interesting theory a friend told me! You know how Tarzan says “not Clayton!” during his boss fight? Well the theory is that Clayton here is actually a Nobody of himself, and the Chameleon is his Heartless! Hence why he’s not really Clayton. Granted, KH1 came out before the concept of Nobodies was even a thing, and Clayton and the Chameleon don’t re-complete upon defeat, but the theory makes more sense than plenty of stuff that’s actually in canon, so I could believe it. :P

Also Sora getting yeeted by a gorilla is just as funny as Vanitas getting yeeted by Sully, yet nobody talks about it. smh. X’3

Okay, I love love love the area behind the waterfall! :D Honestly this is a great place for the heart of a world to reside, it’s got such a beautiful and mysterious vibe, and those blue glowing butterflies really add a lot. :3

Well, I guess that’s it for Deep Jungle! It’s sad it’ll never show up in another piece of KH media, something about legal rights of the book or something? You’d think it’d be in the public domain by now, but I guess not. :T Oh well...
