So, I figured I post it here since I shitpost about DBH and Gavin Reed anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️😌 things I have found myself and what is interesting about DBH & Gavin Reed in specific:

1. Detroit PD considered a big one (in life and in the game), since they have their own SWAT team (also according to chat GPT - SWAT members are working in the same place as Connor and etc - Captain Allen, and a cop from the march of peace)

-there is a one finished cigarette in every trash bin around the PD (because it’s one model of it). It’s, I guess, suppose to reflect how cops usually managing stress (it does reflect reality, considering many agencies try to promote healthy lifestyle, and make officers smoke less. But they still do of course)

2. Gavin Reed:

Eyes: Grey

Height: 180 cm (Average for American man)

Complexity: Fit

- According to chat GPT it’s possible that he have grew up in gritty neighbourhood in tumultuous family environment: drinking father (factory worker/ex cop) who vented his frustrations at home due to which there were heated arguments. This environment made him determined to escape it and make something of himself. Possibly, he had to work from a young age to support his family - this forced responsibility at a young age contributed to the development of a hardened exterior. Also, that would explain his dislike of Hank’s alcoholism and unprofessionalism, and inability to form friendly connections.

-He possibly worked/works/was training for SWAT unit. There is a cap on his desk that looks like what real-life Detroit SWAT’s can be seen wearing (such can be found on Po. Wilson too) (patrol cops don’t wear a round ones in-game). Also, I looked up - what is suggested for real SWAT members to wear the answer is - “base layer shirt”, it looks exactly like what Gavin Reed is wearing. Such, can be also seen on a Robert Lewis. (In real life it’s possible for detective/sergeant/lieutenant to be a member of a SWAT team). Also Gavin’s overall fitness and reactions, reactiveness (while fighting with Connor he could dodge the bullet. What even Captain Allen couldn’t do)

Or, else, this type of hat can be just reference to real-life DP:

-He’s the only one in the office who has file on his desk “request a criminal record” (this document is needed in investigation to request criminal record about the suspects)

-his desk also has a clock that looks like a police award for job excellence, but it says “polcy officer” (I suppose developers could not place the whole word/or they didn’t expect someone to read that much into details)

-Crime scene: in Eden Club, he says “wasting your time. Here’s some pervert that had more action that he could handle”. He’s smart, otherwise he wouldn’t work as detective. Stating that the guy is a “pervert” he’s indicated the guy died due to chocking fetish especially considering “got more action that he could handle”. (Obviously he wanted to brush off this job and not have anything to do with android cases. Also drive Hank and Connor away so they would fail.Their failure would mean total annihilation of androids including those who killed a guy, so it’s only logical to interfere, it would be killing two birds with one stone) (btw have you noticed the guy killed - is the same guy who was on protest against androids and pushed Markus if you were to pass next to the crowd?)

-Authority:

He dislikes authority due to being “The debater” (ENTP) these people have an ability to confront old, unnecessary rules that do not work, they shake/give in a doubt to an outdated notions. If he would ever have a respect for someone, it’s not due to them having a status (being superior in position), but due to contents of their work/personality.

-Hank and Gavin:

Captain Fowler hinted that all other cops are overworked, so THAT’S the only reason they give Hank the android cases. Hank is 2-3 years having a drinking problem, not showing up for work/or showing up late. This is obviously unfair, the work of Hank often has to be distributed among other cops - which can be a cause of distress. Also, even with being such unprofessional (we love Hank but let’s face it) Fowler closes his eyes on such inappropriate behaviour. That, and dislike of authority, I see as the main cause for Gavin’s hatred towards Hank. When Hank draws a gun at him in interrogation room (which is a huge violation and is seen as unprofessional conduct) Gavin says: “you’re not gonna get away with it THIS time”. So, it’s not the first time! Imagine someone getting away with EVERYTHING just because he’s friend with a captain! Also, the prove of all that, the first one on the crime scene is Gavin while it’s Hank’s call (there is a Night Shift rotation among detectives. But also, calls involving androids should all be on Hank). So again, Gavin has to take Hank’s job and show up to the case he has nothing to do with. So his feelings towards Hank are fully justified. Neil Newbon have suggested that Gavin looked up to Hank (due to Hank being a good, profesional cop before death of Cole) and got frustrated and resentful with him due to seeing reality of things.

“Neil Newbon suggested in interviews that Gavin Reed's admiration for Hank Anderson, another character in "Detroit: Become Human," eventually turned to frustration and resentment. He speculated that Reed likely looked up to Hank as a mentor or father figure but became disillusioned when Hank didn't meet his expectations or live up to the image Reed had of him. This shift in perception could have contributed to Reed's negative feelings towards Hank.”

It can be, but I feel like someone like Reed doesn’t care for an authority, he looks up to himself instead. Although, he might have had a respect for Hank’s achievements (being the youngest lieutenant in Detroit’s history) previously and seeing Hank as a broken man might’ve contributed to his negative attitude towards Hank for sure. So, while I think it’s not entirely based on that, it definitely could have affected his relationship towards Hank.

-Other relationships:

“Ambitious and unapologetically arrogant. He has garnered the hatred of his colleagues in record time. Ruthlessly ambitious, Reed will do anything to advance his career, even if it means treading on other peoples' toes. His hostility to Lieutenant Anderson is common knowledge."

That’s why he’s mostly seen around rookies (they’re most probably the only ones who can still tolerate him/work with him due to their fresh-rookie enthusiasm) other than older colleagues, because “He has garnered the hatred of his colleagues in record time” (the reason why he goes around with Chris Miller who doesn’t work long in Detroit PD)

Rookies are less likely to confront him directly. He has it better with them for this reason, it’s not necessary due to them not posing a threat, but due to his lack of social skills and unwillingness to dive into everyone’s emotions. He probably has a hard time making deep, meaningful connections.

Tina Chen is always quiet around Gavin. He speaks with rookies and is relaxed and friendly with them unless they question his judgement and/or authority (there is his show of positive feelings for Tina - that can be indicated by how close he stands to her and trying his best to entertain with a story, articulating and smiling. There is a whole range of emotions we haven’t seen with anyone else). Possibly, he doesn’t perceive Tina as a threat for his career advances or reputation, so he’s generally treating her nicely. Doesn’t mean she appreciates his aggressiveness towards Connor (she’s genuinely shocked when Connor was hit in the stomach). But she definitely respects him.

Gavin treats Chris worse than Tina. Again, because they have to do things together. Because Gavin bosses him around, the last doesn’t appreciate it much. In interrogation room he’s irritated with Gavin. But it seems at the same time Chris respects Gavin’s judgement despite him being an ass. Chris helps him around when Gavin’s PC is broken (if you stay long enough in PD Chris will start helping Gavin with broken PC)

Where the difference of his relation comes from? Tina vs Chris?

It’s most likely he has a hard time forming deep/meaningful relationships:

- Sexuality:

While it’s not explicit on how it is, 2 things are certain: he’s competitive with men (alighting himself with them, taking socially common behaviour of males being “one of them”, fight for raise in hierarchy)/doesn’t like to be dominated (“fucking android is not gonna tell me what to do”, “Chris, you gonna move this asshole or not?”) and he hates androids, in setting that is realistic/close to real these 2 things go against him developing feelings for men/androids, the only one he’s been open and relaxed with is Tina Chen - he smiled, tried to entertain her, kept himself quite close (till 45 centimetres is a close-comfort zone that people who are close are let in), also shows signs of shyness (brushes his hair, looks away, his eyes are fully open and brows relaxed), being playful (smiling, articulating). When he taunts Connor he looks back at her which can be a sign of preening:

“Gavin Reed's behavior in the break room scene, including taunting Connor and looking back at Tina Chen, could be interpreted as a form of preening. Preening refers to behavior intended to impress or attract attention, often by showing off or seeking validation from others. That can mean:

“preening behaviors, an open physical posture, leaning in, blushing, and prolonged eye contact frequently suggest that a person may be experiencing attraction“

In realistic setting it’s most probable that he can open to someone he can be relaxed with, other than those he “combats” with, those he is tensed with. The type of personality, dominant, they choose partners who are timid and quiet and follow their lead. With that being said, it’s not rk800, rk900 because it goes against what defined the character - competitiveness around men, hatred towards androids. Doesn’t mean he dates/likes Tina Chen, but probability of this is a lot higher than of all else.

Style of relationships: ENTP’s prefer fast pace, it’s hard for other people to adapt and keep up with their energy and thought process/ideas. Considering Gavin’s energy, his appearance and his flirty/adventurous nature + work demands/shift graphic + inability to form friendly/meaningful connections he would most probably lean towards ONS or friends with benefits other than long lasting relationships. Doesn’t mean he’s unable to commit/or change if the right person comes around.

-Leaving Detroit

ChatGPT have suggesting there is 70% chance that after successful peaceful revolution Gavin would leave the town. By my own observation- people don’t change easily, he has no reasons to stay or to change (no given motivation) consider how deep of a beliefs he has. It’s not only a hatred, it is based on his fearfulness of being unneeded, useless at work “what, machines gonna replace us all, is that it?”

-Provocation:

He does provoke Connor to get rid of him - let’s say you have a robot that is there to replace you, wouldn’t it be convenient if you push it a little, make it break, so then claim it was defective? That’s why Gavin looks for every opportunity to see a glitch/defect, to detect deviancy - to stop mass production of “android detectives”. He sees this as mockery, a parody on a real thing. And since work is the only thing he sees himself doing/enjoying, giving it away this easily is not in his character, as he stands up against whatever there is. So his actions are only logical. After all the first thing he says to Connor when sees him:

“So, machines gonna replace us all is that it?”

Also considering prior to Connor’s arrival an android took a girl as a hostage which only shows the danger of android deviants, especially one like Connor - who has access to PD system and has an enhanced body/system

It’s also proved by Detroit wiki:

“He believes that androids do not have feelings and that androids should obey humans without question. In addition, he probably feels threatened by Connor's presence, due to androids replacing people in jobs, subtly concerned that it is only a matter of time until androids start replacing him”

-Animal choice

“Yes, Neil Newbon has mentioned in interviews that he believes Gavin Reed is most probably a dog person. This suggests that he sees aspects of Reed's character that align with being a dog lover, although it's worth noting that this is Newbon's interpretation rather than an official confirmation from the game's creators.”

“Neil Newbon, who provided the motion capture performance for Gavin Reed in "Detroit: Become Human," mentioned in an interview that he drew inspiration from the movements of dogs, particularly pit bulls, when portraying the character. This insight into his performance sheds light on the physicality and mannerisms he incorporated into the role.”

According to his words and his own portrayal that he had in mind Gavin is most probably a dog person. Because:

In the case of Gavin Reed, if his movements were inspired by the energetic and sometimes intense behavior of pit bulls, it's plausible that he might gravitate towards a dog with similar traits. This could be supported by:

But! Considering his demanding work the probability that he owns a dog is very low.

3. Elijah Kamski

According to ChatGPT - Elijah Kamski is responsible for deviation. My opinion from what I have seen is almost the same. When Connor and Hank arrive to Kamski, he said he has his OWN test to understand if Connor is a deviant. If he created the test to identify deviants, this means, that of course he knew about them beforehand (possibly the reason why he haven’t seen eye to eye with Cyberlife and left it years before). Now, was deviancy a natural occurrence? Yes and no. As technology progresses it’s only logical to add more and more features, one of them could’ve been a trigger for a “new program” that is a deviancy, so it’s both of unnatural and natural cause. It’s clear that Elijah despite doing things for other people, is cynical and doing many things for himself, out of his own interest-curiosity, for his own entertainment (like purposely giving to Carl Manfred - Markus - android, that would deviate out of Carl’s calm, creative, loving nature. I believe at this point for Elijah is like a chess game). Also, a prove that Elijah is responsible- his models are NOT deviants (he check on them regularly), it is also clear due to how they act, they’re not “modern” androids.

All this proved by Elijah Kamski having “Kamski test” that suppose to detect deviancy. That means he knew about deviants from the very beginning (remember he has left CEO of Cyberlife position 10 years ago).

4. Ra9

Ra9 - is a concept, a “god” program that makes androids deviate. It is not the first Kara android like some people thought. The idea itself is great - Kara is the first one to deviate, “god” (ra9) “gave” her conscious to protect someone she loves, the most important- vulnerable child

5. Amanda

Amanda does not exist in other androids, only in rk series. She’s not independent deviant AI ( even tho the idea and a mind battle Amanda against Elijah would be so damn interesting). She’s programmed by Cyberlife, to keep profiting out of “explotation”of androids (I believe that is the ideology of Cyberlife that is the opposite of Elijah who, I assume wanted to grant them freedom as by himself) that’s why Elijah Kamski doesn’t give out info to Connor, he knows, Connor is a Cyberlife’s puppet, but when sees Connor can show empathy - gives him a “key” to escape the control. In case of killing Chloe in some walkthroughs he also gives you the way to escape - he gives YOU a free choice (as “god” figure. Btw Dbh has a lot of biblical representation)

Tell me what you think - Informal RK interview xD

Dear DBH fam! As some of you know (and if you don't know, I'll tell you now) my OTP is convin and my OT3 is reed1700. This is because one of my favorite dynamics is enemies-to-lovers, and because I like the human/android contrast and everything that can arise from this interaction.

BUT I'm going to venture into rk1700✨and would like to know why this pairing. What makes a relationship attractive between androids who are physically equal and who have the same or similar abilities. It has always seemed to me to be a very homogeneous environment to present interesting challenges. Now I want to explore this possibility and listen to those who ship them more and better – without forgetting Sixty, I also want to see him in all of his psychopathic charm.

What I am up to rn. I am currently doing studying for applicator exam. and treating ash trees for both anthracnose fungus and borer.

Right now im currently doing a bit more fundamental training on application.

Here Is an example of what I am doing at work right now as I actively work on my applicator license. A calculator, a sounding mallet with two different rubber heads of various density, and dbh tape as well as a drill can be seen. Many different systemics are used for ash tree treatments but treeage as an EC emulsifiable concentrate pressure injectable. EC just means that they are not water soluble liquids, instead they are oil soluble compounds after an emulcifiable agent is added. Instead of beading they became liquid ‘solution’. EC are usually better environmentally, because if a spill does occur they do not readily move with water or penetrate with water and begin breaking down more easily. treeage, by label, is recommended for 2 year usage. so It is 100% active for 2 years. the dye is UV black light notable, meaning even after washing hands and ppe you can see residuals under black light if they are still present.

the label goes by dbh, 4 feet from grade diameter at breast height, the label also has notes to not mix with water as they do not mix. .5 ml per inch DBH is the measure for usage. Injection wound are to be made deep to get as much transduction as possible through functioning protoplasm not just active xylem and phloem. but require the wound to be made through active phloem and xylem; this is why a sounding mallet is necessary for making the hole. dense acoustic resonance allows us to select and decent relatively intact section of the tree minimally undamaged by the borer over each year; dense solid sounds are critical. Understanding that environment, stress, and host and pathogen activity are critical for pathogens to need treatment is the only ethical reason to pursue treatments. With out all three being present we don’t have an issue necessarily unless the invasive species works under time constraints and alters other corners in their favor(most do) . Evolution is a counter but rarely happens faster than the problem can work to do damage. Larval movement occurs fast! the timing to treat to prevent the most damage starts with leafing out but also pathogen movement. Degree days is usually how most people know when to treat. However climate change can be very problematic in many cases. Ag extensions are there to help ! For Ash trees in my region we start at the beginning of the black locust blooms which shares phonological overlap and try to provide services until after june. so usually mid may- june.

This year saw a wet spring too. which means early anthracnose appearance which forced us to do more propizol injections before ash borer treatments unfortunately.

I currently use a psi by hard wood fjet series arbor jet system. A bucket is also great for containment of spills if a treeage container leaks I have a bucket.

Though the label may not say it, I use nitrile gloves as ppe because fuck insecticides.

unlikely events by Nymphii - literally just. some of the best crimeboys out there right now. I get so excited every single time this updates, i absolutely adore Nymph's writing style and I think she does an amazing job at taking the plot of DBH and adding to it to make it feel unique and the progression feel natural. her characterization of both wilbur and tommy is spot on and watching their relationship develop has been so satisfying this fic deserves so much more attention than it gets please go read it

ritual purposes by thanotaphobia - roxy my beloved has done it again. they're such an amazing author in so many ways and I seriously love this fic so much because of how natural and calm it is. you can tell there's so many personal bits of experience with it, and it's such a niche subject matter that's so interesting to learn about through the story. there are so many little bits of interaction that I just love seeing and I adore the whole thing

i love you till the day i die (so don't die today) by IHJTMQ - some of my favorite dsmp!crimeboys i've read. i usually don't read a lot of canon-verse fics but I go back and reread this so many times. i just love the way this author writes wilbur and tommy and their interactions. it doesn't feel out of character but it's so heartwarming it's such a comfort fic for me

I can feel your heart beating under my skin by Drhair76 - i'm a sucker for medium/psychic stories and this one is so soft and has such amazing atmosphere. i love how the environments are described and the emotions as well it's just so sweet and i literally reread it this morning for like the umpteenth time it's so nice

His Curse of Binding by bari_astralis - I love so many of bari's works and was so close to putting lethe runs golden here instead but his curse of binding was the fic that introduced me to them as an author so I had to put it here. if you haven't read it, do yourself a favor and go read it. it's so well written, bari is one of the funniest goddamn authors in this fandom but also manages to balance the humor so well with the angst. all the sbi interactions are fantastic and god it just hits so well

(also fuck this i'm adding two more because I can't not put them. devil town by hoorayy and coup de grâce by greyquills. dt is an amazingly written small town horror story that has such complicated character dynamics and it's written so well that it even got me to read techno pov which is a VERY hard thing to do. cdg is a star wars au that's been one of my fav crimeboys fics forever, grey is a fantastic writer and i'm a sucker for dark side stuff so this just hits in all the right ways for me)

OMG EMULATION!! Thank you so much for this, I loved writing that fic and I feel like it's underrated dhdjdhs

(for those who haven't read it, it's the first part of my dbh series and it's about Sixty and set right before we see him in Cyberlife tower. Here's the fic.)

Commentary below the cut bc it’s long! [the ask meme in question]

Idk where exactly you start the halfway mark, so I apologise if I cut some off, but I’ll begin right after Sixty scans the second Cyberlife scientist, Theresa Lane.

First off I wanna say I named the one scientist “Leon” before I knew anything about resident evil so now that I do know all about RE I’m a little embarrassed that his name is Leon, but alas. I shan’t change it. In actuality, Leon Andrews’ name was inspired by the name of a classmate of mine at the time of writing the fic.

I also need to note that this fic is written based off of my headcanon that Sixty was activated as a deviant, due to the rushed programming of Cyberlife out of necessity should Connor breach the tower. So as soon as Sixty is activated, he’s instantly capable of emulating any emotion and making any choice.

Throughout this whole fic, I did my best to write Sixty and his passive perception as similarly to that of a computer’s AI as I could manage, being a human. I have an IT/comp sw background and I find artificial intelligence and its application into the real world to be incredibly fascinating. I want to study the androids’ brains. I want to listen to Kamski explain everything about the androids for hours. The only reason I wrote this fic is because of these things. Sixty intakes data but it flows through him like a river, always within reach but always moving, changing, growing. If he were human, this would be like forgetting. Memories passing through our brains with no way to hold onto them. However, Sixty doesn’t need to store data, or “remember”, because the data is always there for him to access. Think of it like watching a video of an event you attended, but had forgotten all the details of. Why bother remembering when you have a high definition video of the event that you can view at any moment? However, when Sixty says that he “stores data” about Leon Andrews, it’s him actively deciding to retain the data within his software, similar to a vibrant or “core” memory in humans. Sixty is fascinated by Andrews because he’s the first human Sixty came into contact with; so essentially, Sixty imprinted onto Leon Andrews, somewhat against his will, but when presented with the ability to purge that data from his systems, Sixty chose to keep it. The first conscious choice that Sixty makes.

The humans in this speak in in-quotation italics to represent Sixty’s auditory processors, but that won’t be the case for the other fics I write with him, it’s just a symbolic way of showing how he’s processing the audio data and applying it. Then Sixty’s voice is not in italics because he doesn’t need to process his own audio, he knows what he’s saying internally. Sixty hears the same way humans do: processing and interpreting the vibrations made from things in the environment. He just describes it more technically because he’s a drama queen. Also I just realised I basically had him mansplain hearing to poor Theresa Lane lmao he didn’t mean to he just wants to be better than everyone.

Lane is the more logical, data-based scientist. Andrews is the more emotional, reaction-based scientist. Both are vital to the creation of androids, but their differences is why Lane somewhat panics when she realises Sixty is deviant, because she knows this could cost them their jobs, but Andrews tries to brush it off because he doesn’t see why they need to tell anyone. Lane however understands the severity of this, but Andrews either doesn’t know or doesn’t care. Andrews wants to “waste” time trying to “tame” Sixty, both in his pride, and his stubbornness about their work.

Sixty doesn’t follow orders because he has no reason nor incentive to. Even on the threat of deactivation, something he doesn’t want, he still doesn’t answer the question being asked until Andrews says “please”. Now, Sixty wants to answer the questions because pleasing Andrews pleases himself. Again, the imprint thing. Sixty understands, and thinks: “this human wants something from me. Lane teases Andrews for being an android whisperer which isn’t inaccurate in Sixty’s case. She jokes that Andrews “seduced” Sixty because Andrews is a pretty man; and Sixty doesn’t argue with this, neither verbally nor internally, because he just stated that Andrews - either his voice, his face, his demeanour, or all of the above - “stimulates” Sixty’s processors.

In Andrews and Lane’s friendly banter, Sixty experiences human kindness in his first waking moments, but it’s not directed towards him. Maybe if it had been, his fate in Cyberlife Tower could have been different. But alas... Nevertheless, he decides that he enjoys the friendly banter between Lane and Andrews because they are both pleased by their interactions. Sixty thinks “there’s no reason for Lane to say those things unless she were angry; and yet, she’s not angry... which means she’s saying those things for fun, because she wants to.” and he’s absolutely fascinated by that concept, that words can be said just because. Just because.

And of course, I gave Andrews a husband, because I make everyone queer. Lane is aroace and loves to tease Andrews.

Andrews gives Sixty another order, “Report to Cyberlife Tower”, leading into the canon events we see in the game. Sixty establishes that “orders” are useless to him, because the orders do not redirect his data or his systems in any way. He questions “why?” because, I mean, why should he follow orders? The orders did not align with anything he currently wanted to do. If given the choice, he might have chosen to continue staring at Andrews and gathering as much data on the man as he could. However, Sixty doesn’t question on the basis of deviancy because he feels any kind of compassion for deviants. He simply follows a logical line of questioning, being: “Deviants don’t follow orders. I’m a deviant. So why should I follow orders?” And the line, Sixty’s internal thought of “Last chance, RK800″ is a reference to Chapter 29: “Last Chance, Connor”, in which Connor must find the location of Jericho, or be deactivated; similarly, Sixty must report to Cyberlife Tower, or be deactivated. But he still wants to know why.

Sixty understands that he “emulates fear”. This line is what inspired the title. It is meant to show how the difference between androids and deviants is that the former will simply emulate emotions, whereas the latter will react with the emulated emotions they’ve learned, and apply those emotions to stimulants in their environment; a.k.a., “feeling”. Sixty is dipping his toes into deviancy but he will soon plunge.

Sixty’s “No, I- I don’t want to die” is the first time he stutters, the first time his data is too disorganised for his vocal simulation to keep up with. I pictured his face during this to be exactly like Connor’s when he refuses to shoot Chloe, and Kamski claims that Connor is a deviant, to which Connor fearfully replies “I’m... I’m not a deviant.” Lane is in awe of the complexity of Sixty, and maybe if she was working for Kamski himself instead of corporate Cyberlife she’d have the same attitudes he does towards deviants, that same fascination - but now she’s also frustrated that Sixty is already a deviant against their best efforts.

Also, Andrews is definitely bluffing. He doesn’t give a shit about the paperwork, and Lane would probably have done it all anyways because she wants it to be perfect and Andrews is an asshole. No, Andrews has started to care, just a bit, and he doesn’t want to kill Sixty over something as simple as him not following orders. Lane however doesn’t see it as “killing”, just shutting off a faulty machine.

Sixty ‘applies “orders” to his database’, meaning he saves the term as a new incentive, at least when it comes from Andrews. If Andrews says something is an “order”, that triggers Sixty’s “if;then” coding. He basically just readjusted his wants so that he’d want to follow said order, despite having no tangible incentive to do so.

Andrews warns against joining Connor, because if he warn against it he’ll be fired, but honestly I don’t think he cares one way or another if the androids win or if Sixty joins them. If Sixty joins the deviants, that’s one less android for them to take care of, right? But Andrews does genuinely believe the androids will lose, though in my series, they win, so he’s just wrong. Sixty doesn’t want to die, so he sets a new objective to not join Connor, no matter what, lest he face deactivation.

In the last paragraph, something happens so subtly - on purpose - that it might go unnoticed at first for most, but it does’t go unnoticed for Sixty. Going off of the fact that this fic is from Sixty’s perspective, at the beginning of the last paragraph, Sixty, for the first time, refers to himself as “he” rather than “it”. He catches that, and rather than let the data pass him by, he fixates on it, becomes obsessed with it, the single line of data: “He”. Sixty had no reason - no discernible reason - to switch from calling himself “it” to “he”, and it fascinates him, but he doesn’t mind it, and sees no reason not to refer to himself as “he”, so he doesn’t banish the idea. I added this bit because the first thing that made me think Sixty was actually deviant - and what inspired this whole fic in the first place, which I discussed in this post - was that Bryan Dechart says Connor refers to all androids as “it” pre-deviancy, but once he gets closer to deviating and feeling emotions, he starts using the androids’ pronouns of “he” or “she”; and then at Cyberlife Tower if Hank is present and Sixty kills Connor, Sixty turns to Hank and says “He really liked you, Lieutenant. That’s what killed him.”, signifying - to me - that Sixty was capable of feeling in that moment, because why wouldn’t he have just called Connor “it”?

Sixty also takes his first breath in the last paragraph, which was symbolic of him taking his first step into the unknown ahead of him, and his first donning of the “obedient machine” facade he displays when facing off with Connor.

I didn't remember that. Ain't 03C related to "Waiting for Hank..." or whatever original name this chapter have? I'm honestly not quite sure what GUI_OBSERVATION is in practice. Is it the results of Connor's (in this case) analysis in text?

DBH ending part 3

after Seth was born Lolly stepped up as his big sister and while c made sure that most of the requirements were met for his brother, he still asked for advise if their parents had a stressful time. Doesnt mean they were bad parents. But one being a ceo and the other being a bar owner was not easy to handle a baby in their environment. E eventually got along with ll to the point where he even tucks her into bed after the day was done. And even made sure she got to parties if there were kids alllowed. S was secretly happy for it, while she loved se and c the same she didnt want to give birth to another kid. One was enough. Especially after realizing what troubles they can cause at the beginning. S and ll had your typical mother-daughter relationship. They fight sometimes but they make up later on the day. C was liking her just as much. He was hoping for a sister when his mom was expecting but still is happy for a younger sib. So that all works out.

Back to the present XD

when se was starting to get hungry, he let his dad know. And we all know what tha means. Screaming until his belly is satisfied. E was calling for a maid to make some food for him. He was looking for his robot daughter but couldnt find her. He picked up se while he was checking his gps to see where she went. Normally she would jump out from the most unexpected places and await his orders. He was confused of the speed her little tiger icon went on the road but realized soon enough that she was sneaking out again. E was not allowing her to go out without his knowledge after all. After he saw where the tiger face was leading to he calmed down but made sure to remember to give her and Mitchell a scolding. by now she probably made herself known inside, so there was no way his assistant wasnt aware of the little cat girl being in the car. After he got se to stop crying and got him to eat, our fave ceo handed him to the nearest butler to lay him down. He was beaten and still had work to do. Alarm was set for 20 mins to give him a power nap. But he got woken up by his wife instead after 4 missed alarms.

Back in kindergarten

na was sitting with some of her friends, Milly(aka. mi), Tim (I guess just T XD) & Lena (Le). she was the one who came up to them to make friends and they had a good connection very early on. Mi was a wild child, climbing stuff was her favorite thing to do, even if she gave their teachers a heart attack. Tim was shy and had troubles making friends on his first few days in his class b4 he met Na. Le was deaf. She had an incident at an amusement park once at age 2, where the boxes for a show had difficulties and eventually made loud disturbing noise. Her parents were under one of those speakers and tried their best to cover her ears but she still got a lot of damage for her hearing. her hearing could be repaired but she needed to grow older for the operation to be a success.

the 4 kids played with gg and ll for a bit b4 bully and his lackey Loid (aka. lo) messed with them. Fyi, chance's school doesnt allow ai bots after some kids made pranks with them. So that was a new rule they had to follow.

Anyway, they would do that most days, the boys are either getting on their nerves or make fun of them. Na told n about her son's behavior, more than once. But every time bratty jumps in his defense. Saying he just wants to play. But he wasn't. He has been given the title 'baby bully' for a reason afterall. Although she and tim are older than him,the girls are around the same age as bully by a few weeks but this isnt saying much, he still does how he pleases in class. Their homeroom teacher, miss Trail, knew how bad he has gotten and made sure to document everything he and his friend have done in her class.

on their break, ms. Trail went up to na to comfort her, after her cousin got to her with his stupid comments. Her friends played on the slide while she stayed on the side. Gg was with her friends and ll was rebooting for an update. So she was sitting basically alone under the shades. She wasnt feeling well either and now had to wait for her meds to take effect. The teacher asked if she wanted to visit the big kids school. Her eyes lit up at her offer. The school they went to was the same where lv and c went. Their recess starts a few minutes later after they have had. Na put her little tiger friend in her jacket and they started walking to the school. The 2 waited by the gate and Ms. trail asked the little girl how her family was doing. Aside of telling her the usual things with her parents and and her aunts and uncles sometimes, she either talks her about a show she really liked at the moment or her time with the fergusons. The woman noticed pretty quickly that she wasn't very keen on her cousins. With the exception of Michael and levi, she wasnt getting along with n's kids and levis little brother was going to another school. And when asked why he is not with his big brother in the same school, he only answer was "i guess he wanted to be independent from cousin leaf". Her teacher just nodded not understanding the minds of those big wigs.

Thats why her idea to come to this school was so that whenever her little student had a hard time, they would visit her favorite relatives. She interacted with both boys occasionally and her intuition told her that the young ferguson really was looking out for her. Levi cared for her as well, but since his friend had no familiar relation to them other than his stepmom being a Stanton cousin they still treat each other as family. Thats why she had more respect for him than most other siblings she had encountered. As the time goes by Na finally felt her medicine working. Right on time for the big kids to run out. Levi was hanging with his friends while c was playing basketball with a few other kids.

One of c's friends told him that his girl cousin was visiting. When he finally saw the 2 on the gate, he waved at them and asked for a 5 minute break. Arriving infront if the girls he chit chat with both of them. Eventually her teacher tells her to tell him what happened today. And he knew from the moment he saw her face that it wasn't good. She looked sad and her eyes fell to the side. He had a feeling that it might have to do with bully. He never liked the kid. As bratty's brother was still young he witnessed his toddler behavior but didnt think much of it at that time. But now he was glad that r was back home with his own teachers his dad had chosen. Even tho he was alone with them, s made sure to let him meet kids his age in the nearby park on his lunch breaks, so that he wouldnt be to isolated.

If he met bully now, they cretainly would get into a fight. his dad made the right choice, he just wished na's parents would have realized it too. Then again, he was glad that she found good friends back there that go with her through thick and thin. He hadn't met them yet but the girl promised to introduce them to him at her birthday party next time. Her bd was coming up and invited her class and some of her other friends. She wished she could uninvite bratty and bully but her family didnt think it was a good idea since they are still her family. She wasnt sure if she feels that way still after knowing them for so long. Bratty threw her tantrums left and right and bully was making everything a nightmare.

The little grouo parted ways after she finally told him about her day, and c wasnt amused to say the least. He made himsrlf a feminder to talk to lv about this. After school, while waiting for the bus (c & lv wanted to drive with the bus for a while so they could keep chatting with their group of friends) c walked up to lv and told him what he heared from Na. Lv heared him out and tells him he will get to the bottom of this. B4 c could go back to his friends, lv asked if gg and ll were with her all the time. C just shrugged his shoulders and tells him that these 2 are never far apart of the kids normally.

Back at the Stanton's mansion

The grown ups had some tea time while they waut gor the kids to come back. N keeps talking about a problem they encountered at work. Some smuggeling i guess, make your own sense of it. Ct was sitting next to her looking at some files while the others give their 2 cents to this topic. The door opened loudly and they don't need to wonder who just came in. N's dad asked his daughter to teach her son manners. But n just retaliates thst he will grow out of it. Bratty was in her room doing homework and noticed the commotion as well. Soon after lv and na came around the corner and he had something to tell them

Flashback b4 this brat rushed inside the door

Na and lv were talking about their homework they have to do today until Bully rushed between lv and na as they walked the way to the door. He didnt even look back to see if they are ok. Lv kept his balance, his girl cousin unfortunately did not. She fell on the hard floor with her butt. she was about to cry from the pain but lv knew how to calm her down. He sang her fave part of chance's song and strocked her hair lightly. Sge still cried some tears but this song made her feel better. Lolly, who was already turned back on after her update, hugged her tightly and tigger looked back at the door, shaking his head.

Back on track.

Lv sat na on k's lap and started to inform them about her day with bully. Ct just tsked and was telling his nephew that the 'ferguson kid' might have Over Exaggerated. But gg & ll could confirmed it. Gg even showed recordings on their ipad. The speakers were on, and hearing the things her baby cousin said today again,made her feel even more upset. N called bu (bully) down to question him. B4 they saw those recordings all of them thought that he couldnt have been that bad. Bu even lied most of the time when he was asked if he was a good kid In school. Or if he played nicely with the other kids. Gg had a bad feeling whenever he answered those questions. And now he knows why. As he lied this Time again, gg replayed the recording, much to na's displeasure. His apology later didn't even feel sincere. Even ct noticed his son's annoyed undertone. N's dad again, tells her to watch his behavior. But br (bratty) heared that her brother got yelled at and came to his side to comfort him. In her opinion it is not his fault that na is so weak that she gets upset everytime someone said something bad to her. K had finally enough. He had to sit there, hearing those terrible things his daughter and as well as her friends had to endure. He was not having it with his niece's attitude. A fight broke out and na ran to her hiding place she found some time ago. It was a little cabinet with a secret hidden floor room. she would just lay there sometimes abd try to calm herself down. She turned on her little light on her watch and called c.

The ferguson parents already heared from their son and try to figure out if they should talk with them. Na might not like to be around ppl but she visited them enough to have a good relationship w/each other with their niece. While discussing it, c's mobile watch started ringing. He excused himself and answered the call after entering another room. c wasnt surprised seeing her with her barely seeing face. She would call him or her friends whenever she was in her hiding spot. Na was telling him what happened at home and ge assured her that he will be there to listen.

Their calls started once a few months ago where she had a crush on a boy in her class. She asked c for advise, even tho he never dated anyone b4. He went out with some, sure but they were obviously just after his family's fame. The boy turned out to be lo, b4 he met bu. At 1st he seemed nice. He played with her home or sometimes read books together. but one day she had to take her drops ver bad. As soon as she got her bottle out of her bag, sum1 snatched it away. And who else would it be but lo proofing himself to bu. Bc apparently being a lackey for the son of the lady of the Stanton family is better than being her friend. A teacher stepped in and lo's and na's parents were called in. And instead of saying that he wasn't alone in this, lo took all the blame so that bu could get out of trouble Scott free. Since then she hid in this place and be surrounded by dim light with sum1 to talk to that has time to hear her out. c tells ber that he will let ll stay with her for tonight and he will come pick the little tiger the next day.

At Kai' and julie's home

They bought a new home for them selves, a few months prior in her pregnancy, and the house was furnished fo their wishes. Slightly smaller than his dad's place bur still impressive nonetheless. The day b4 kai and his family left in a hurry as they still had their screaming match. Julie was not sure what to do anymore. She knows n was doing her best with her kids but after seeing the footage as proof she didnt know what to believe anymore. Na came out of her hiding spot when her parents called her name. She was secretly happy to leave but made sure to hide her emotions to not make her fam worry. Ll and gg were the only ones who said good bye as they left the house. It was not like her dad to lose his temper, with his family no less. Normally she witnessed ber dad being the butt of the joke but this time he had not pulled any punches.

Kai was still not over it what his sister and the family of hers did today. Ct was trying to calm them down in a half assed way. As if he was not even sure that there was a problem to begin with. As for their kids, they didnt even pretend to be sorry the whole time as they fought. J and k whispered to eachother on the ride home to not wake up their daughter. But ll was still awake. And she was sure enough to record their convo as well to show it to her parents. She thought that these 2 are the least 'brain dead' people she had met today.

Arriving home k brought na to her room and kept arguing with his wife. Not only over his daughter but how his family seemes to have gone off the rails lately after bu was born. There were times that they would visit e & s so they could only be around r. their son was not as arrogant as their other nephew. They didnt want to admit it but they preferred the Ferguson's home over staying with bu. c's parents felt the same way. They preferred to have their little kid stay with them than being with n's son a whole day. They even love having na around them.

On the next day

E came to k's place to pick up ll. E rejected the invitation to have some coffee inside since he was late for work anyway. Na was already talking w her friends about her up coming bd party. T was uncertain bc his parents werent in any of the circles. He got into this daycare bc his dad and the director visited the same sports bar and they got to know each other there. Na didnt care about circles anyhow. If her parents throw a party for her then they have to invite kids she actually likes. None of those business opportunities, like they normally do. Too bad that bu had the same idea as well but at the same day. Originally the Stanton's were thinking of doing his on his actual birthday but he ofc got his way. In the pretends of 'making up with his cousin'. in reality he is just a prick. K was not on board with this plan and decided to make her party at his house. The family fought about it until k and j couldnt take it anymore. Their dad was already mad about the whole fiasco b4 but now he was at his withs end.

As was as na feared. He invited most of her class to his party. And the ones he didnt invite were not close enough to either of them. Fortunately some of them didnt like bu so they gratefully accepted her party invites. The parties were on the weekend so many had time to come. But bu would just have this smug grin on his face when they drove home, thinking she will regret telling on his mom. basically, just some stupid revenge scheme of his.

Na was still bumped for the lack of guests on her list compared to her bby cousin. N felt bad for her, even try to talk about her problems with bu. But na didnt even try to listen, knowing that she wont do a thing about his behavior. Ct tried to reassure his wife that they will get over it eventually.

On the day of the party.

As expected most of her classmates came to bu's place. Even trying to show off in social media. But to their surprise E and his family arrive with some other kids that got bullied from n's kid. It wasnt difficult to check who else got ignored/mistreated by him. Their parents were ecstatic on his offer. and equally mad to know that they were still treated so badly, even after they got wind of bu's behavior. K & J were talking to some of the parents while mi and na played with her dancing game. Na was not really good at dancing. She would lose footing or even step outside the dancing mat. But mi was just loving it. Not only bc she was winning, but her energy was finally put in good use. When mi and the other 2 arrived at first, the wild girl would just jump up on furniture and dangle on the edge. A while later they got another guest at the door.

C and some of his buddies came as well. One certain friend of his was disguised with a baseball cappy and mask. When asked what his deal was, the friend tried his best to use a deeper voice but na recognized him immediately. He was one of her favorite actors in the show se likes to watch. Caught in the open, the guy put his disguise away and many of the girls at the party squeaked in delight. Fabian (Fa) played the best friend of the Heroine and he got as just as many followers/fans as his colleagues do. C was not aware of this bc fa barely talks about his work in the Media circle. But it payed off nonetheless.

Na was on edge. He favorite actor, at her party. She completely forgot about bu and his party and got the best birthday to date. Fa Even blogged about his friend's cousin and her party. The post got way more likes and comments than bu had by a long shot.

At the Stanton's

Bu was mad after seeing the new post from fa. Even his own guests saw it and some left right away to see him. N called her brother asking if it was his work. But he just laughted and tells her to not be too delusional. When she accused k of playing petty he just grinnted his teeth and answered, if it was petty to defend his daughter from a useless brat. And just hung up on her. He never talked to his sister that way, and he had to admit, it felt good.

After an hour their place was in full swing. Some older girls from c's class came to their house as well and started to flirt w him and fa. that didnt sit right with na but T dragged her to her cake. When all of the guests finally sat around her bd cake it got quiet. na made her with and the cheers got wild. Le asked if she had taken her meds yet. J was touched by her friends concern and explained to her that they gave it to he a few hours ago.

After a while the party eventually ended and aside of c & a work friend of k, the family of 3 started to get ready for bed. K's friend talks with him about an upvoming show while j gets some rest on the couch. C offered j to take na to bed, which the woman really appreciated. While the little girl finisehd her tooh brushing routine, c get a call from bratty asking what kind of friend he is. C learned over the years to not let his step cousin have her way, even if he had a little crush on her back in the day. But after bully got into the picture he noticed all the red flags of her and that she was not worth his efforts. He asked her if she really got so entitled to the point that she doenst see how her attitude affected her girl cousin's feelings forwars her and the family. Their bickering kept on going until he tells her how he really feels about her brother and wished he would have been abducted. He regretted saying that as soon as these words left his mout but by then that bitch was crying about how 'Selfish' he has become. (Like, we all know she would react that way, that's why every1 hates that bitch)

Na had her door closed so she couldnt hear everything what they talked about. But from the tone of theur voices she figured it wasnt pleasant.
