So you want to read ✨Zodiac Academy✨ but when you look up the series, you have no idea where to start. The prequel novella? The prequel *series*? Book 1? There are multiple ways (and no true right way!) to approach this, but there is a way that I think is best suited for binge-reading *and* makes the most narrative sense!

So without further ado: my updated Zodiac Academy recommended reading order.🤓

Because she awoke something in me which I missed, and that part of me was begging for another day in the sun.

Darcy's eyes locked with mine and my lungs compressed. Why was it so fucking difficult to cut her out of me? One look was enough to make me consider risking everything I’d ever worked for.

“For you, anything’s worth it,” he said and my heart broke because I knew he meant it and it was almost too much to bear.

“If you hurt her, I’ll kill you. I don’t care if you’re an Heir or if I end up in Darkmore Penitentiary for the rest of my fucking life. I’ll take any fate for her, so just remember that when you’re playing your little game, Capella.”

“He kissed me like he wasn't allowed to kiss me, but if he didn't he'd die”

“I’m supposed to be some all-powerful Phoenix but look at me now. I’m nothing.”

“You are everything,” I said firmly.

I miss her too. I miss her in every moment of every minute of every day. I will always miss her.

I just needed it to stop. All of it. I couldn’t believe after all this time I still felt like this. Like the world began and ended with him and I would never belong to any other man.

“You are meant for the sunlight, Lance Orion. So you’ll stand with me in it or else we’ll stay in the dark together.”

“I knelt for Darcy in the arena,” I admitted, staring him straight in the eye. “She is my queen, whether that be by the choice of the stars or a fate carved by my own hand. I was always meant to kneel for her.”

That girl could bring about an apocalypse on this world, and I knew in my heart that she could defend herself. She was a force of nature, a fucking hurricane.

Which is your favorite ZA book? Mine is 4 or 7. Is the Darkmore Penitentiary series good? What is it about and it completed or ongoing?

So, The Awakening as Told By the Boys is my fave.

I love the intensity of feelings that Orion and Darius develop immediately. It's so obsessive and possessive, I love it. I also love understanding the motivations behind everything that happened, and the book is also kinda sexy.

Otherwise, I love Books 4 and 5. With 4 probably being my fave.

Darkmore is about Rosalie Oscura trying to break out a prisoner from Darkmore. It's about all the people who were in prison with Orion--Ethan Shadowbrook, Sin Wilder, Roary Night. It's a reverse harem. It's a lot less expansive than ZA, and isn't filled with rich Heirs and Princesses. Kinda more gritty--I mean, it's set in prison. There is one final book left, which should be released this year.

Favorite Thing to Cook/Bake: I despise food prep. but i’ll take cookies because at least you can enjoy the prep

Favorite Craft to do in Your Freetime: Writing and plannering. I love stories, but sometimes my brain doesn’t want to make words. So I decorate my planner pages and make videos about it.

Most Niche Dislike: Too much noise is overwhelming. Crowds and lots of bodies, especially worse when it’s hot. Disorganization.

Opinion on Circuses: I can’t say I’m a fan. Certain performers and performances are impressive - there are some really talented people out there - but it goes with my dislike of people and noise and disorganization

Do You Have Any Sense of Direction: I have the world’s worst sense of direction. I am fine following directions (thank you gps) but ask me to direct someone and it goes to shit.

My Review: 4/5 Stars

So I knew to expect some crazy cliffhanger ending on this story. Knew it would probably be pretty bad. But I did not expect it to be THAT bad! Ugh. Super mad about that ending. So this story picks up right after the previous one. Rosalie and the gang have about 72 hours to come up with a final escape plan or they will never be getting out of Darkmore and higher chances of them being dead. It's less than 72 hours of crazy and chaos. Rosalie's small advantage is having Cain with her, Roary, Ethan, and Sin. It's just convincing him to help that is the problem. The whole prison is in chaos after Rosalie's last plan falling. And it is only a matter of time before the FIB get involved. But until then, it is up to the guards to control the prison. But that isn't really happening. So Rosalie and everyone must come up with plans B, C, D, and let's just say it keeps going. Some good things in this book that happen. Like Rosa and Roary finally getting what they deserve. Getting more info on Cain. Even nice peeks of some beloved characters on the outside. But that ending. Yeah, not thrilled with it. It went from okay that is really bad, we'll see what happens next to oh my god, no, no, no. How is anyone coming back from that??? Yeah, I don't know what is going to go down next book after that. And despite how mad it made me, I need to know how everything plays out. Trusting the authors on this! Though from what I learned about the world of Solaria and all the books that have taken place in it, there is a ton of bad before any well good happiness can come to light. So we'll have to wait and see.
