Compare that to the more platonic talks we see; Chim opening up to Bobby after the rebar accident, and his exchange with Hen after Jonah - both daytime, well lit, clinical settings. Can you imagine chin and Hen looking so cosy? Nope!

Hello lovely!!! So sorry I’m just getting to this but this is so kind of you!!! That entire scene was soooo insane bc we do have very low and intimate lighting and in the kitchen of all places!!! Which is the heart of every home. And we have Eddie doing the most mundane and domestic thing: making his sons lunch. He doesn’t stop what he’s doing bc Buck is not a guest. Buck is a part of their family. And we all know how the late night brings our most hidden secrets to light. So the fact that they are both able to talk about their traumas during nighttime in the kitchen with no lights on certainly feels like a deliberate choice of filming. You most definitely cannot compare that to any other platonic talks either man has had with the others from the 118! Nor like you said, have we gotten any other friends talking in such an intimate setting before. Like even when Buck seeked out Hen for the sperm donor stuff, it was daytime and they were day drinking. None of it was intimate and sure she’s married and not into men. But like you can’t compare that to the scene in Buck’s kitchen in 3.12 either. Where Eddie went to him bc Chris was upset with him lying to him. Both of them were sitting and drinking beers and it was clearly nighttime as well. And the other kitchen scene™️ where they were flirting and it was the most homoerotic scene to ever exist on this shit!!! Also nighttime AND WITH THEIR SON THERE! So what I’m trying to say is the shows alwayssssss shown how different their interactions are with each other compared to literally everyone else on the show. They’re always paralleling how the other couples talk to each other so like, they’re supposed to be viewed as a couple too.

Their story wasn't always perfect and there's some of it I wish I could change, but they were magic together and that transcended all the highs and lows. It seems to offer opportunities to explore a few things; defying socially prescribed roles for love, self-worth issues stemming from reproductive roles, protective / possessive behaviour resulting from biological instinct, hurt/comfort themes, unplanned pregnancy.. and pining for each other! Instincts overriding logic, reason and sense.

yeah as you can expect this makes zero sense to me. 

the first thing I think of when I hear omega-verse is some sort of werewolf thing because 10 or so years ago maybe I watched like 2 and a half episodes of teen wolf and there was something about alfas and omegas in it? idk.... it just seems like totally rubbish... Today hasn’t been too bad apart from the cat waking me up this morning and the eternal hunt for shopping slots (got one for Nan though, now just need one for us, or I’ll bung our bits on her list instead!) We usually spend Easter at home so it’s been like a usual year really. Living near(ish) to the beach means the roads are usually packed so we avoid everywhere.

Dad’s getting bored though. He bought loads of wood to make stuff and has now used it all up, he’s planted all the seeds we managed to get, so now he’s hanging round the house. I’ve given him my old adult colouring books and pens as an alternative. Hopefully it’ll keep him occupied.

As for staying cheerful, I’m watching loads of old comedies like Vicar of Dibley and stuff. I’m now crocheting a little doll to dress up in scrubs and mask to put in the window as a little tribute to the NHS (not that anyone will see it but it’s keeping me amused). I make sure I spend time away from everyone else even if it’s only ten minutes too.Aw I love that story! That was a combination of an idea by @irisnsc and loads of help from @rustandruin and I’m really proud of it so I’m glad you like it! I love AUs where they met before and left the village together.

Actually, nope!! I’ve sort of dipped in and out since I was little, I’ve been aware of it but it’s never been something I sat down and watched, though I’ve gone through phases of being super into EE, Corrie and Hollyoaks over the years.

I was aware of Aaron’s abuse sl, and the 2017 Robron break up and reunion arc (fun fact: I walked in on my Mum sobbing her eyes out during the episode when it aired!!!) but apart from that, no.

I only started watching for Robron in September 2018!! At least in a committed way.

But aside from my two favourite boys, my other favourites are Liv, Nicola, Faith, Cain, Belle and Jimmy.

It is without a doubt one of my fav. I sob ever time Johnny says "I don't want to be a fuck up any more". And when Gheorghe tries to comfort him Johnny snaps "I'm ok" its such a robron moment for me. I had to come back and agree with that last ask, your art for the Big Bang is so good! I spent a while reading and grinning at all the individual stories/headlines on the first newspaper - I especially loved the ones for Paddy and Megan respectively!

Aww thanks Vix! That’s very kind of you to do/say! I’m so proud of the Paddy one. It cracked me up a bit because it’s pretty much a headline I have seen on the NYTimes site, and then the Megan one was a joke about David’s storyline that year! (I tried to play to the show as much as I could!) 

How about any AU head canons for actor Robert and stunt co-ordinator Aaron? Love your other AU posts by the way, they're so creative!

robert hates aaron to begin with, no not hates, envies. he doesn’t understand why some man has to come in and do the bits they think robert is incapable of, if they’d just give him the chance then he’d show them. but the director is having none of it, won’t give robert the time of day. 

aaron barely said two words to robert and he’s already managed to piss the actor off apparently. most actors are more than welcoming, thankful even, when aaron turns up to the crazy bits that no-one else dares to. but not robert, he’s just acting as if he doesn’t exist. fame changes people he supposes. 

you see the thing is, aaron was thrilled when he got the call of this job. he’s always loved robert’s work. and he wouldn’t admit it to anyone but he’s had a decade long crush on the man. he’s always the first in the cinema when a new movie comes out. but now he’s met him in person he’s starting to question his attraction. 

the job lasts much longer than aaron anticipated it would, there four weeks in and nowhere near getting to the places they want to be. luckily for him, robert has had a personality transplant. he laughs more now, he’s supportive of aaron’s efforts and he’s thoughtful. thoughtful in the ways he brings aaron a bacon cob to work every friday morning, thoughtful in the way he listens to aaron and indulges his crazy ideas, thoughtful in the way he asks aaron out for a drink after another week is wrapped up. 

it’s six weeks in when they first kiss. robert is in one of the studio rooms rehearsing, aaron watches him for a few minutes before he makes himself knows, hands robert the coffee he’d just brought him for downstairs. roberts struggling with some scenes, can’t quite get them right. he’s great at the fight scenes, they’re as easy as breathing for him, but it’s the romantic ones he struggles with. of course aarons more than happy to help - especially with kissing scene. what he doesn’t expect is for robert to actually kiss him. he’s sure it was only supposed to be a peck, but three minutes later they’re still at it, fighting for dominance. 

it’s safe to say they do a lot more of that, kissing. sneaking around behind the set together. robert’s desperate for aaron - feels like a lovestruck teenager. it’s been so long since he’s had something with someone, and this is definitely something. they continue like this for weeks - stolen kisses and rushed blow jobs whenever they can. until robert books them a hotel room one day - two nights completely uninterrupted. 

it’s after that weekend that robert starts to see things differently - starts to worry about aaron. he knows aaron is good at his job, the best in the business even, but that doesn’t stop the worry gnawing away at his stomach. it doesn’t help that he has to watch him complete the stunts, stands at the sidelines as aaron puts his life at risk for him. 

it turns out he has a right to be worried when a stunt goes horribly wrong one day. aarons more or less throwing himself from a building, only he twists his ankle and the last minute, stumbles down a step too early, half his body missed the crash matt and robert is terrified.

luckily they have first aiders on set, and the paramedics are here in record time, but that doesn’t stop robert worrying, doesn’t stop him being a complete mess, doesn’t stop him telling aaron he loves him in front of all his stunned castmates.

aaron is fine in the end, of course he is, he’s aaron dingle. he wakes up in the hospital with robert by his side, grip tight in his hand, and he does the one thing he’s been wanting to do since he fell from that damn building, he tells robert he loves him too.  

I second that last ask, I have just finished reading your fic and I'm not okay! How could you do that to the boys?! Seriously though, I love the way your writing flows in a way I can't explain. Your pacing and story beats are effortless. I've been a fan since your Emmerdale fanfic days and I'm delighted you're writing 9-1-1 fic. You bless us, even when you torment them!

It's a controversial one, but I always liked the scrapyard kiss by the van in the affair era. I think because it was kissing for kissing's sake, not leading to anything - which I guess is not that typical for affairs! And then of course the belt grab, pub corridor one. Who doesn't appreciate that one. Which is yours? :-)

I don’t think it’s too controversial! I like that one too! I love that it’s just simple them making out because they want to because you’re right most affairs never have that it always has to lead to something but they have always wanted to be together to spend time with each other haha it was always more than just an affair for them (I mean obviously haha)

yeah, it was exciting and new and nerve-wracking really. He wanted to get it right, and he knew Robert will probably like it, no matter what he’s gonna get, but Aaron wanted him to be truly happy.
