Trying to remember if it was you that theorised that Ryan and Oliver knew that a plan was in place to get them together when they first brought in Ryan. In the interview Oliver has confirmed we were looking at getting Bi Buck a couple of seasons back?! Sort of ties in with that theory almost?!

Hello dear!!! It WAS me who said that. I legit have been CONVINCED that Ryan has known since the very beginning. And bc of his earlier interviews, they put him in PR jail. It’s a common thing to do in shows where one half of a ship will know early on and like play into it and the natural chemistry stems from the other not knowing but immediately syncing and going along to give the audience a good pairing with natural chemistry. Here’s that theory I made years ago. And I even said a few years back that Oliver was then brought into the known like possibly s4/s5. And it makes sense considering Oliver keeps talking about him planning on leaning into Bi Buck and that was before he even knew about Lou. Who else was he gonna be playing it up with???? The only possible answer is Ryan.

So some people are trying to say Oliver didn’t mean Buddie was the arc Fox shot down (who else was it supposed to be?) and just his bi arc. But he also said Buddie fans were right. Not just fans like he has said before. And it wasn’t a quote, he said it. So yes, Fox shot down the sexuality arc and Buddie at the same time.

Boy oh boy today has been a whirlwind.

Ok if he was meant to be bi years ago (who was gonna be his love interest then)??? Like especially when you consider how close they made them in s3 and then the entire shooting scene? I just I don’t know bc everything was SO PERFECTLY set up for them to go canon in s5. Especially with Eddie seeing Buck at the bar and that little smile. His breakdown where Buck was the one to get to him. Like ugh it was so perfect and they didn’t do it. They didn’t even introduce another man to make him a possible LI so who was it gonna be besides Buck and Eddie? But with Tim being back and them being on ABC, we finally have room to make things happen freely and naturally.

Do you happen to know when Oliver made that old post/story from a while back about no longer interacting with Buddie content so he wouldn’t accidentally get fans’ hopes up? I’m curious if there’s possibly a correlation timeline wise between that post and about when the bi Buck storyline probably got shut down.

This was all during season 3! And as I mentioned in this ask response and then further in my Oliver’s social media analysis, he started openly sharing and liking Buddie content towards the end of season 4! Which would’ve been around the time the topic of them giving us bi!Buck and possible Buddie canon would’ve been done.

He was also very vocal about his dislike for Bucktaylor as I mentioned in this ask response as well. So if we take everything he was doing during s4/s5 and compare it to what we found out today, it kinda confirms that Buddie was being discussed. And it kinda also confirms, to me at least, Buddie is still being discussed and will eventually come to fruition in the most beautiful and natural way possible!

Hi Elle! That’s honestly the sweetest and if anyone ever remembers anything about me I hope it’s that my blog brought them some sort of comfort at one point in their lives! That’s so kind and I’m sending you a big hug 💜 I will never ever waiver on Buddie. I’ve been shipping them since s2 like swear on my dogs life and I just, I can see the chemistry and the potential and the natural progression from friends to more so I’m sat and I’m being patient for what’s to eventually come!!

I really am hoping that come the end of this short season, we have at least one feelings realization. Idk who it’s going to be but if I were a betting woman, my money would have to be on Buck since he’s already one foot there. I really do believe Tommy is a stepping stone and he seems like an aware enough man. He knows something for sure. He was confused when Buck told him he wanted to get his attention and he was looking at Buck midway to a panic attack when he found out Marisol is moving in with Eddie. I’ll kill for a moment like New Girl when Sam is leaving Jess and while he’s in the elevator he goes “Cmon Jess you know. I mean I know. You know…It’s Nick.” So like imagine Tommy and Buck and ending things amicably and he’s trying to gently let Buck know he’s in love with Eddie but Buck has never allowed himself to even consider that possibility. So Tommy kindly tells him, “Cmon Evan you know. I mean I know. You know…it’s Eddie.” AND BOOM WE HAVE HIS FEELINGS REALIZATION! I mean that’s one of many ways it can happen. What I’m trying to say is I can totally see one of them realize their feelings but not have anything happen.

Let’s not forget we still have to get through Eddie breaking up with his girlfriend and dealing with his own things. I will say though, I think Eddie’s in a good enough space mentally to not have a full fledged panic over his sexuality. I know he has religious guilt and all that and I think it’ll be lovely to see him work through things he’s repressed for yearssss. Maybe we’ll find out about a younger Eddie who had a best friend he was into but had to repress that part of himself. Which lead to him trying so hard with Shannon and everything that came after it. What I’m trying to say is I think 8a could totally be Eddie working through his own sexuality (bc I don’t think we have ample time to fully do it this season) and then by the mid season finale, he finally accepts his feelings for Buck and maybe even tells him. And the remainder of the season it’s them trying to work on their relationship turning the romantic route and all that. Who knows but I think ideally I could see Buck realizing his feelings come season 7 finale. Eddie having his sexuality storyline 8a with feelings realization by the mid season finale and then getting together 8b! Hope that helps ☺️

I’m kind of vibing with your theory of Ryan knowing about Buddie or at least the potential of it from basically the beginning. I read your theory after someone else just asked about it and it makes sense to me. And honestly if they’d allowed the queer arc for Buck in earlier seasons, I can kind see it happening in a similar fashion as it has with Tommy but with it being Eddie. Oliver confirmed with his interview with Gay Times that there was discussion well before this season of Buck having a queer arc but it was tabled/shut down. That conversation would have made sense to take place when Oliver was brought in on the idea of Buddie.

Definitely seems plausible. I hope we do get Buddie on screen eventually because then we might get the confirmation on all of this 😂 because now I want to know if you’re right! Sure seems like you could be.

Hi! Oh thank you that’s so kind of you lol. I mean we’re all speculating and theorizing and having fun! I’ve just always been under that notion that he may know something. They typically do tell one half of the couple and it would make sense if it was Ryan. And that would explain why he was all “they’re just bros. Haha he’s my brother” bc he didn’t wanna give too much away. Like he over corrected so he wouldn’t let anything slip if that makes any sense lol. But then Oliver confirming it was gonna happen a few years back. We all kinda assumed it would happen end of s4 leading up to s5 did we not? Especially when Eddie was having full fledged panic attacks at the idea of settling down with his girlfriend lol. But regardless if it was meant to be a few years back or present time, who else does Oliver have such natural raw chemistry with to make it believable and progress a romantic relationship where the audience enjoys it and it isn’t rushed and half assed?? Oh right with Ryan. I’m just idk I’ve always always been convinced buddie is inevitable bc of the development we’ve seen and how beautifully their relationship has progressed to what it is currently. They’re really two men co parenting and relying on one another for most things. Not only that but they’ve both been so vulnerable and opened up to one another in ways they’ve never done with their actual romantic partners. I really think conversations have been had earlier on this season and both Ryan and Oliver have been told by Tim is slowly happening and they’re gonna start with Buck first while simultaneously laying down the tracks for Eddie’s own sexuality storyline to come afterwards. It’s happening I mean it’s the only plausible thing in my honest opinion.

Some blogs are insisting that Oliver doesn‘t post about Tommy at all because he simply doesn‘t want any negativity in his comment sections that‘s why he is „forced“ to post Buddie. I think that is avery sad take, but to be honest i‘m soo tired of these people dismissing Eddie and Buddie now.

Hello! Here’s my take on this and everyone is definitely entitled to their own opinions but like let’s really consider some things. Oliver himself has said multiple times in a few diff interviews that he’s not going to restrain himself and will say/post whatever he wants without worrying over what others will think. And since he’s been so excited for this storyline for Buck, I don’t see why he would care for any negativity if he were to post Tommy. He even made this statement story which confirms he doesn’t care about any negativity about what’s happening with his characters storyline (which currently includes Tommy).

My thing is, no one is really posting Buck and Tommy. If one were to really take a look at the official 911onABC socials, it’s heavily Buck and Eddie and like a few Buck and Tommy sprinkled in. Now why wouldn’t Oliver share any of those pictures to his story to further promote this storyline/new pairing? He actually shared the Buddie sunset photo the following day it was posted. And he’s actually been posting more Ryan this season than any other season. Now why would he willingly be sharing Buddie and Ryan content if we’re supposed to not be focused on Buddie? If he wants us to really root for Bucktommy, he’d share more content and even some bts with Lou. If he doesn’t wanna piss the fans off, then like he would stop with the Buddie of it all during this time. I mean Lou’s not really posting about them either which is weird in itself too?

Also why would he be forced to post Buddie?? He’s not being forced to share Ryan on his story for sure. He’s just doing it. And I would think the higher ups would “force” him to share more of his currently love interest, which he has yet to do. That’s just how I’m interpreting it tbh. He’s sharing the required promo for the show but also things he wants to. And I doubt he’s posting Ryan or Buddie as a consolation prize for the people who want Buddie to happen. Again that’s just my opinion and if Oliver really wanted to share Tommy and Buck content, no one would be stopping him from doing so considering he gives no fucks about comments or negativity anymore. Maybe it's just me but when Ryan said "i don't think either of these characters are ready for this(buddie romance) yet" that to me just confirms it's the direction and it's happening.

Oh I definitely agree and I’m not even expecting them to get together anytime soon. Buck is still confused about his feelings. I’m still on the train that he has misplaced feelings and thinks it’s all about Tommy when I don’t think it is. I don’t think he’s allowed himself to really examine where these feelings are coming from. And why there’s such a focus on Eddie anytime he brings up the Tommy subject. I think he’s trying to slowly figure things out and he’s having fun which is great. He needs to feel more comfortable in his skin and be confident. And when the time comes and when he’s embraced the Eddie of it all, and when our little gay disaster goes through his own journey and is finally at peace with himself and his own feelings, they can get together. It’s slowly coming together. I keep emphasizing this. It’s a slow burn but they’re moving a bit quicker this season to really get everything set down and work their way to eventual buddie canon.

I think it’s an absolute tragedy that Eddie has yet to see Evan Buckley in his full naked chest glory. What do you mean he’s never seen those pink nips?? And those tattoos scattered all over his milky chest?? He hasn’t seen that little tummy??? The tapered waist??? This is a travesty. Like I fully hope that if and when we get Eddie questioning his sexuality, it’s a direct parallel to Buck seeing him shirtless for the first time. Personally, I really believe he’s going to be coming out if that is actually what’s happening, in episode 7.05. The reason I say that is because I think a lot is going to be happening in 7.04 that if he were to come out, it would just be too rushed. Also, it makes sense because if I’m right about that speculation I have of what’s going on with Maddie and Chim, Buck may need to think things through before he’s out there, coming out to his best friend that he may possibly have feelings for. I think episode 7.05 is when they’re going to have that conversation, and he’s going to possibly be hesitant and nervous to come out to Eddie. But when he does, I could totally see Eddie reassuring him. And that leaked photo with the little finger in his face could be him telling him I know why you were jealous. Maybe he thinks he’s into Tommy in a romantic way when he’s reading everything incorrectly and it’s him who Buck has feelings for. It’s typical textbook for him to misunderstand and for Buck to go along with it just so he doesn’t have to confess his feelings to Eddie, knowing that it’s not reciprocated. Also, let’s remember that Brenna is directing 7.05 and she has given us really great Buddie moments. She would do that coming out seen such great justice, and I could totally see them wanting her to direct that scene. 

I’m reading through all the interviews. The one I am about to quote has Ryan going I think it will depend the connection between Marisol and Eddie. But then there is this

"As far as [Eddie's] sexuality, I think it's pretty clear that he's tried to fill in this motherly, this wife type role—that's all he knows," Guzman explained. "And he's a man [that] first off, he's Catholic. Second off, he's from the military. So those are very straight-edge kind of lifestyles that don't offer too much of exploring. But through the 118, he's had this epiphany each year, like, 'Well, maybe I don't know as much as I thought I did. And maybe I should be exploring a little bit more and maybe I should understand myself a little bit more and even seek a therapist,' which is something new for Eddie. So I feel the representation is reflective of the inclusivity that Ryan Murphy's show likes to have and Tim Minear likes to write."

Yeah that doesn’t scream deepening a connection with a former nun. At all. Also the fact that it should have been Eddie and Tommy. I have more faith than ever. (Also the look Eddie has when Buck comes out to him. The first second as he processes it. Ryan and his facial expressions).

The minute I read that article, my mind immediately jumped to what we’ve all been saying for such a long time. He literally slept with a woman and ended up, knocking her up, then marrying her due to his religious family. Then he joined the army because that’s what he thought was expected from him. He never got to date, never got to experiment and really explore his options. And his word choice is so fucking, prominent here and it really does confirm what we’ve all been saying and thinking. Like I don’t see any other way, his story can possibly go. i am so so itching to do a meta on just their talk in the lost bc Eddie’s facial expressions and tone of voice alone was EVERYTHING to me. Like he truly was like “oh holy shit no way!!!” And he almost was seeing Buck in a new light but it was in such a lovely way and ahhhhh. Like the story is clear as day for me idk. Especially given everything else we found out about today??? Mhmm it’s safe to assume s8 Buddie canon for sure.

Ryan and Oliver haven’t done publicity together since season 2. They’ve actually been super distanced considering Ryan was in pr jail. Oliver took on most of the publicity for years. And nowwww they’re doing joint publicity again???? When we have been told by both men that this season is one in which both of them will get closer than ever? That they’re gonna go on this lovely journey together??? I mean if we weren’t supposed to get any ideas then why are they glued at the hip and lookin like they’re so happy to be there together? They can’t just stick them together knowing what the fans want and will choose to take away from it if it’s all for nothing. Not only that but even Oliver is out here showing Ryan off as much as he can when he’s refrained from doing so since s3!!! Like this man is afraid of saying or doing anything to even put the idea of queerbaiting in peoples minds. So if he’s doing it then that fear has been removed and he’s doing so happily because he knows what’s coming. And he’s genuinely getting us ready. I’m honestly shaking bc this season everything feels completely different especially those two together. It’s happening. They’re literally preparing us. The showrunner, the writers, the boys. I had to go back and really look at what Ryan said and compare it to what Oliver said and I’m honestly side eyeing the both of them.

Ryan: “I think Eddie is going to have a let go moment. He’s going to have some fun I feel. He is going to have a great time trying to just let go and see where that gets him.”

Oliver: “Very far from a typical TV wedding. In typical 911 fashion it’s filled with chaos, but I think it’s really heartfelt and heartwarming but also a lot of fun. Infused with plenty of chaos.” 

Like what kinda fun can these two possibly get into when the outcome is possibly this???
