hello, im admin/owner of dailyrex. As many of you have noticed, dailyrex has not been active for a while. We had tried to make it active like it used to be, but unfortunately there aren’t many new captain rex content on tumblr for a while.

We could only keep queuing old creations that probably have been reblogged by us before again and again. So, until captain rex get some new content, we’ve have to put dailyrex on hiatus. We are so grateful for your support and love, and we’ll be back!!

Timeline: 31st December 2018, Monday, 10:16 p.m. Location: Some friend’s home in Honolulu, Hawaii. Mood: A bit hungry. Attire: See above.

Rex spent holidays with his family in Canada but he returned to the island for the rest of the year. He attends one of the biggest New Year’s Eve parties in the city hosted by a frat brother in their lavish home by the ocean. Everyone he knew was there even Euna who he had been hooking up with since meeting her six months ago. They don’t meet for anything but getting laid and Rex was fine with it and whenever they see each other in public, there was always that sense of not acknowledging each other as if they didn’t know each other when they have the same circle of friends. His own circle knew he hooked up with the woman a few times but they don’t ask him any questions about her. Although, one of his friends without meaning to, mentioned Euna while they were hanging out and how the woman was dating another guy from another university. He didn’t have a comment about it and brushed it off.

Throughout the night, Rex drank and hung out with friends and once feeling tipsy, sent Euna a message;

At the Beginning

The shinies arrive at the beginning of the rotation.

There is no pomp and circumstance to welcome them - only the bustle of the hangar, indifferent to the additions. They arrive in a tight, nervous huddle, cinching closed as if to contain themselves within themselves; they hold datapads in white-knuckled fingers with the flimsiwork already filled out, powered by anticipation.

The legion cannot decide whether it loves the shinies or hates them.

“This batch must have been kept in their growth jars too late.”

“Did this batch have bad trainers? They can’t kick for osik.” Jesse shakes his head, a grandiose display of exaggerated exasperation, but something determinedly warm colors his gaze.

“You can’t kick for osik.” Kix yawns. “Go to sleep.”

The legion watches them, almost warily, as if the new additions are too bright to be so seamlessly incorporated. They clump in the mess hall; they take bunks all together, but are too tense to share them, as if intent on keeping themselves to themselves.

“That one got a new haircut.”

“2983 picked a name. Hex, he said.”

“Make sure Aden doesn’t get a tattoo from the Corrie Guard. They don’t know what they’re doing. Coric won’t treat his infection.”

“Make sure Aden doesn’t get anything from the Corrie Guard.”

The shinies are still shiny. They walk with bounces in their step, looking up at the world like it changes with every blink. Their eyes are as bright as their armor, glowing like a candle cupped in caring hands. The legion remembers what it was like to be so bouncy and bright, a genuine kind of innocence you didn’t realize until you lost.

So it protects them, these brothers with shiny armor and shiny eyes, yet-unbroken by the galaxy’s sharp points and dark plots. It accepts them. It warns them. And it lets them be, until the wind is too strong for proverbial hands to shelter candle flames.

The shinies are not shiny anymore, and the legion is there in the aftermath of newfound darkness. Candles are blown out by smears of dirt and blood, and there are scars and scrapes left when it is wiped away. The new additions are not so new. they have lost the energy to hold themselves within themselves; instead, they swap sharp-edged pieces of newly-shattered dreams, spilling themselves out to each other as they try to rebuild.

The legion soothes nightmares. It shares bunks. It sticks together. It mourns together; it counts its dead, and soon there are new spots to be filled.

The shinies will arrive at the beginning of the rotation.
