This has appeared in my notes again, and since I'm in an AU mood... I decided to finish it properly. Dorian survived the experience, but in this AU too he isn't the fondest of life outside. For unknown reasons, who wouldn't wish to have the Hawke kids treatment?

Please appreciate Varric, it took me ages to paint all that hair. Yes it could have been more but my patience ended.

There was a lot to do in the house. He shouldn't close his eyes. What he should do was waiting five more minutes for both children to fall asleep more soundly, move both Dorian and Aisling away from him to some proper pillows, rise up and clean the house. The kitchen wall really needed some cleaning after today's shenanigans. A very unwise decision, for him, to think they couldn't actually build a catapult with legos when they announced their project (a kid at school apparently had a book on medieval warfare and they've been inspired). Because what they managed to build was not only perfectly functioning, but also enhanced by magic, and able to throw eggs at breakneck speed and in a high parable... right on the kitchen wall. They have been absolutely thrilled and danced around him, ignoring as per usual all his requests that medieval siege machines were to be used out of the house, and that they shouldn't waste food. Right now, tho, staring at a wall absolutely lurid with eggyolk and eggshells stuck in the goo, so high he would have needed a stair to clean everything, he felt proud of the two five-years-olds, and also incredibly cosy. Dorian's heavy breathing from his head fallen back on his belly, little hands still clutched on one of his books, and Aisling smaller frame curled against his side, a little hand holding his thumb as she sucked her own, they both kept him warm and lulled him to sleep as well. Maybe the two little balls of destruction were right: explaining why and how nuclear reactors could explode was, indeed, relaxing, and better than any of Varric's own fairytales to concile sleep. Yes, he thought, maybe closing his eyes for five minutes and bask in one of the rare moments of pure, homey quiet with the two, when they were just cute and not a very distructive kind of cute, wouldn't be so bad. The eggs on the wall were already dry, after all, and kids grew up all too fast. Solas could indulge.

For the characters headcanons... clothing style and what items can be found in your muse’s pockets? for Mori'na? :)

hi hi!!

clothing style: depends on the environment. if it's at skyhold then I'd say practicle but more relaxed than out in the field. freeflowing shirts paired with vests. Prefers pants but will wear a skirt if they can't seem to bother. in the field a lot more formitting and less flowly (cloaks snag on branches way too much). lots of nature motifs, greens and brown, dalish embroidery everywhere.

Re: Baby elves with floppy ears, thanks to @heniareth who didn't set my brain on fire with cuteness (helped by @salsedinepicta who sent me pictures of dogs with the same development too cute for this world).

Middle stage, one ear is higher, the other is still very floppy.

We all know that Solas is secretly, deep down, what in Italian would be dubbed as "Cuor di panna" ("Heart of cream", used to define a very tender and caring person). He's not crying, he just got a spirit in his eye.

(for those of you who don't know: I have this modern AU where Solas and Varric co-parent Dorian and my Quizzy, Aisling. Who in this AU is nicknamed Pikachu. And they were roommates. Here they just got sent some pictures of baby Aisling pre-adoption.)

This is probably my favourite page, composition wise. As much a pain in the ass these pages are, if you need to print them, I just loooooove loose cages. I thought of making a pattern out of the Orb-like swirlies but then thought why simplifying my life? And made them all. It's more organic that way, even if yes, it took long.

I'll admit that this little comic was born from the first fanart I had and the realisation that the ending scene in Trespasser would just hit the egg with the force of a thousand suns if you know. Lavellan was a tiny little bean. JSYK: it's also the first time she called him dad, just to end him entirely. Your reblog helped, she smashed the egg.

The couch is copy-pasted because yes, don't trust any artist that will tell you that using the same background twice is "cheating". All artists cheat, all artists use reference. Also you see the last panel? Do you see it? :"D

I realized when flatting, when it came to mind to you know. Check my thumbnails, that this wasn't a single panel, but it was supposed to have the black background circling all the others like the definitive and like you see below... So yeah, luckily it wasn't much to correct, but RAAAARGH anyway. I have timelapses for the flats and the shading as well, but since uniting it means having a monster video of more than 7 minutes (!!!!) I think I'll have them in separate posts.
