PLA Dad Ingo and Uncle Emmet AU part 2
so here's part 2! I have such PLA brainrot its unbelievable...I blame my weakness for found family, especially the accidental child acquisition variety XD You can read part 1 here! I have also decided that Akari is not Dawn. I'm also aware I should probably name this au but I honestly cannot think of anything.
Back in Hisui Akari throws herself into the pokedex research, helping Volo along the way by capturing the likes of Heatran, Regigigas, Cresselia and receiving their plates as well. It's slow going but Akari is determined to get it done.
Those around her such as Rei and Laventon worry she is overworking herself in order to distract herself from Warden Ingo's absence. Akari denies this when asked but deep down she knows they're right. However she still refuses to listen to their urging to take it easy.
Akari rarely rests, running herself into the ground over the weeks to get closer to completing her goal. Volo who in the poor girls mind is one of the few people she can trust plays the perfect confidant, subtly manipulating Akari so that her attention shifts less on finding pokemon and more so on finding the plates. Two months after Ingo's departure there's only two plates left to find the ghost plate and the fist plate.
Of course Akari doesn't know Volo has had the ghost plate all along, the man in question is very pleased with their fast progress and thinks to himself perhaps he should have gotten rid of Ingo himself earlier if it meant Akari would listen so easily to him. Not that there's much to be done now Warden Ingo is gone and isn't going to be a problem anymore (That's what he thinks)
In fact the only way Akari properly rests these days is when Lady Sneasler finds her if she's in the highlands (Sneasler finds her every time). The noble will find Akari put her in her basket and carry her to her den and promptly depsoit her amongst her newest kits who excited to see one of their babysitters shower her with affection and then fall asleep on her. This leaves Akari with no choice but to stay there so as not to disturb them. She knows Sneasler is trying to look out for her in Ingo's stead so she can't be too upset when the noble tricks her into resting.
Due to Ingo's absence Akari not wanting to potentially cause tensions between Jublife and the Clans Akari is forced to return to Jublife more often. She knows she could still use Ingo's tent but finds herself unable to stay there because she misses him so much. She does however take one of his spare tunics and keeps it in her house in Jublife.
Sometimes when the whispers get too much or after she's forced into a meeting with Kammado (Rei, Cyllene and Laventon refuse to let her be alone with him, Akari is very grateful) she'll hug it close. As much as Akari misses him she can't regret sending him back to his brother.
Its two weeks later Akari finally works up the courage to face Kammado at Volo's urging. The crafty merchant gently tells her that she needs to face her fear so she can prove to herself Kammado can't pull a stunt like he did again. Akari while not entirely convinced agrees if only becomes Volo has always been kind to her and the fact he promises to stay nearby just in case.
Volo smirks to himself as he watches Akari face and defeat Kammado and subsequently receive the fist plate, it really has been too easy to manipulate the girl while she's missing the Warden. He tells Akari to meet him at the Temple of Sinnoh and she agrees saying she'll meet him there in two days time. Not knowing his true intentions and just how much danger she is in.
Meanwhile back in the present Emmet and Ingo after a hasty call to Elesa about Ingo's return and a request for her to ask Skyla when the next flight to Sinnoh will be the two begin to prepare for their Journey.
This of course means not 10 minutes after his call Elesa is at their door and sweeping the two of them into a hug before yelling at Ingo for disappearing and worrying them all for so long. Emmet leaves Ingo to explain himself to their best friend and sister and continues to prepare for going to Sinnoh.
Elesa at first wants to come with them but the twins gently remind her that Nimbasa city cannot be left without all of them for long and they do not know how long they will be gone for. Elesa reluctantly agrees on the condition the twins keep her updated as much as possible. They agree and spend a few days with Elesa as they make arrangements for the battle subway and such. Elesa agrees to take care of the pokemon they're not bringing and also agrees to manage the press while they're both away.
The two make their way to Mistralton City to meet Skyla. The gym leader is ready to go on their arrival and the twins waste no time. During the flight they learn all they can about Sinnoh's legendary pokemon and agree the best place to start is with the legendary lake trio after Ingo reveals that an item called the red chain was made from items received during trials with Lake guardians to help tame Dialga and Palkia. The two however are unable to find anything about the Temple of Sinnoh but agree to check out Spear Pillar on Mt Coronet due to the location.
It's through their research they learn about the story of creation and how Arceus and the world came to be. Based off what little Akari told him about her 'mission' and coupled with the presence of her Arc-phone in the past Ingo concludes that Arceus is most likely responsible for Akari ending up in Hisui. Though Ingo is still unsure of how exactly he ended up in Hisui. Emmet on the other is downright gleeful that they are potentially going to fight a god(he deserves to work through all his emotions due to past and current events and beating a god would be very good catharsis for him).
Once landing in Jublife the two get to work making their way to Lake Verity first. They stop to rest in Sandgem town and this is where Ingo and Emmet meet Lucas on their way to the pokemon centre. Ingo is struck by how much Lucas resembles Rei and while at the pokecentre the two end up striking up conversation with him. When they find out he is helping out professor Rowan the two ask if he knows anything about Mespirit, Azelf and Uxie. Lucas is happy to help them when they explain they are simply researching Legendary pokemon and their interest has brought them to Sinnoh. Of course it helps that the twins in turn tell Lucas the tale of Reshiram and Zekrom, who is enthralled and thanks them profusely.
After talking with Lucas and resting for the night the two make their way to the lake and to Ingo's surprise find Mespirit waiting for them. The two stick close to each other while Ingo explains why they are here. Mespirit is the being of emotion and questions Emmet on his feelings during is brothers absence and reappearance. Emmet answers freely and Ingo feels awful for putting his brother through all that with his unscheduled departure but it's Mespirits final question that catches them both off guard, because they thougt the answer was obvious.
Mespirit asks Emmet why he seems to care so much for a girl he's never met. To the twins who before Ingos abrupt disappearance had always been together its a very innocuous question. Emmet simply responds "I am Emmet, my brother is verrrry important to me, of course I would align my tracks and care for someone he does" Ingo is touched nonetheless that his brother already cares greatly for Akari. They do not receive a piece to make the red chain but they do leave with Mespirit's approval. That has to count for something. The brothers don't let a small change in tracks derail them. They press on.
The two head to Lake Valor next in search of Azelf and this time its Ingo who is put to the test. Azelf is brutal in its endeavor to test Ingo's will, Ingo however is unyielding nothing is stopping him from getting back to his daughter and bringing her home, mission assigned to her by Arceus or not. She was a child his child, Akari was coming home with them no matter what. He pours all his frustration at the situation that he and Akari were forced in into passing Azelf's trial and it pays off. He passes the trial with Emmet applauding him and that only leaves one guardian left Uxie. Again they do not receive Azelf's piece for the red chain but leave with its blessing.
So they begin to travel to Lake Acuity intent on facing the final guardian before the try to track down Dialga or Palkia. At this point they've been in Sinnoh for around a month. Emmet can see the toll this taking on his brother, can see the urgency in his brother's actions as he rushes through safety checks and does his best to comfort him. Emmet has never been great at talking that had always been Ingo but he does know how to put his brother at ease. So for most of their journey he goes into detail about his strategies to beat Arceus into the ground, cheerfully citing that since his wonderful Electross has the levitate ability (I know abilities aren't a thing in legends but this my au and I say they will) and therefore has no weaknesses for Arceus to exploit unless the damn thing has mold-breaker. It has the intended effect and soon he and Ingo are bickering good-naturedly about type matchups and strategies as they travel.
Ingo knows what his brother is doing and is very thankful for it. It makes their long trek up the snowy path to Lake Acuity pass by quicker, though when they rest for the evening there are some nights where Ingo lays awake worrying. Is Akari resting enough, are the villagers leaving her alone, is she eating properly? A million worries zip through his mind like a runaway train. There's a sinking feeling in his gut that tells him she needs his help and Ingo would be dammed if he didn't get to her in time.
When they finally arrive at Lake Acuity they've been in Sinnoh for just under two months and meeting with Uxie confirms Ingo's worst fears. Uxie is the guardian of the mind and is able to communicate with Ingo and Emmet with it taking less of a toll on him. Uxie has no trial for them instead the pokemon explains why they have not received the items from its counterparts.
"The rulers of time and space will come when you call for them at the top of spear pillar, the lost one is in need of you. Their are powerful forces at play. The creator and the banished each have their own agenda. The lost one has been betrayed once more."
The guardian's words alone are enough to send Ingo into a deadly rage, the conductor spits out countless threats about Kammado and Beni, promising hell if they'd dared harm is child once more.
This leaves Emmet to be calm collected twin for once (he isn't sure he likes it). His own anger accumulating inside but Emmet shoves it down, Ingo and his niece both needed him to keep a level head, there would be a time to work out his own anger just not now. While Ingo is busy going feral, Emmet decides to ask the million dollar question of who exactly has betrayed the niece he has yet to meet. Uxie's reply is simply "The merchant" it tells them.
Ingo goes still and feels mouth go dry. His mind playing back to the times Volo appeared to ask questions about both his and Akari's experience beyond the rift. His weird fixation on the rift and the events surrounding it in general. How he was always around to conveniently help when it was needed. His vested interest and need of Akari even after the rift was shut. It makes Ingo's blood boil to the point his pokeballs are shaking as his pokemon respond to his volatile emotions as he snarls. "Volo you bastard"
Emmet is worried for a moment his brother may fully lose it then and there taken aback by his cursing, but after a few moments Ingo takes in a shaky breath and releases it. Then in voice contorted with a carefully controlled fury he looks his brother in the eye and says. "All aboard Emmet we make our tracks for Mt. Coronet and nothing will derail us from our destination."
Emmet can do nothing, would do nothing else but follow his brother as Ingo whirls around to make for the exit of the cavern, his black coat billowing behind him. This Volo character won't know what hit them when the two of them show up. Emmet doubted there'd be much of a person left if Akari was hurt when they got there by the time Ingo and himself were done with them.
The journey to Spear Pillar is a blur to Ingo, his barely concealed rage is simmering just beneath the surface held together only by the thought of getting to Akari on time and Emmet's reassuring presence at his side. He is grateful to find both Dialga and Palkia waiting for them within what is now Spear Pillar. They are both stamping at the ground seemingly agitated in response to Ingo and Emmet's own emotions and summoned by their urgency. Without needing to ask the two legendary beasts roar and power surges through the temple. A portal appears as wind whips around them and neither twin hesitates to step in.
"Hang on Akari we're coming"
Phew, man I thought my last post was long...this one is even longer I feel. There's definitely going to be another part to this. I originally planned to end this with them arriving and like an epic line by Emmet. I'm still including the line in the next part but if I got to that point here it'd be a mile long. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this!
Part 3 can now be found here!

Ingo being sent to Hisui turns him into a baby. This changes nothing and the story goes the same way it did in the game except Ingo is now one of the child wardens. He tells Akari about the man who looks like him but older and she decides that he must be his dad. That doesn't sound right to Ingo but it makes sense and he comes to believe it. Then they go home and Emmet has Sinnoh's missing champion give him a familiar child wearing his missing brothers clothes and tells him she found his son.
LMAO, just picturing Emmet's reaction... the Sinnoh Champ who was missing for several months just fighting her way up to his car on the Doubles Line and telling him she has his son??? Emmet doesn't have a son??? He doesn't think??? Hold on real quick let me make some adult phone calls young lady-
-and then Akari steps aside and actually shows him the kid in question, and he would recognize his older brother anywhere even if he's a good decade younger now like INGO???? It's basically the ancient Hisui version of the reincarnation AU except he actually looks like Ingo this time, lmao.

Round 2, Match 37: Giovanni Potage vs. Ingo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Submitted kids:
Giovanni Potage: Molly Blyndeff, (potentially) Sylvie Ashling, Crusher, Dark Star, Ben, Car Crash/Fred Donaldson, Spike, Flamethrower
Ingo: Akari and Rei
Propaganda under the cut!
Giovanni Potage:
1. “while it is debatable that he adopted sylvie, it's a 100% that he adopted molly. because. well. he kidnapped her because her dad sucks.”
2. “IT'S CANON! Or at least half Canon. Giovanni kidnaps Molly to get her away from her terrible family. Since Molly and Sylvie are a package deal, he's often added to the found family. Sometimes a family is a 15 year old college graduate, a depressed and anxious 12 year old, and a 19 year old with the power of soup.”
3. "this is an actual line from the book (Prison Of Plastic) that basically confirms it: *“Eww. Parents,” he spat, forgetting that he himself essentially had six kids of his own with another on the way. Possibly two.*
we love ourselves a soup himbo with like eight kids. okay most of them are his friends but you see that quote. he sees them as his own kids"
Ingo:
“Old man and the feral children he stole from the past”

Another lil Wandering Spirit AU fic!
This time Akari gets her reunion. Sorta. It’s over the phone.
This is MUCH sillier and light-hearted than the last one lol. Dad Ingo propaganda.
AO3 link
Uncle Inghost
The moment Dawn stepped through the portal leading to her proper time and space, she hit the ground running.
There was so much to do. She’d been gone for over a year, after all. The champion of a region has responsibilities, and a sudden absence can cause a number of problems. Luckily it seemed that Cynthia had taken care of things while Dawn was gone. The previous champion was absolutely ecstatic to hear from her, of course, but Dawn could tell that Cynthia was also relieved to have her help with the league once again.
There were reports, paperwork, and recorded interviews she was required to do. She also had to tell the league where she was, which was a nightmare and a half to explain. Damn time travel. As a result of that, Interpol got involved, which caused another wave of paperwork and interrogations. Apparently people being tossed all over time and space wasn’t as uncommon as Dawn previously thought.
After two straight days of work, Dawn was finally able to start relaxing for the first time in over a year.
And by relaxing, she meant researching the past she’d just left.
She just had to know what happened after she left. It was with a heavy heart that Dawn had left Hisui behind. She didn’t miss the dangerous land, of course. It was the people who inhabited it that she would mourn. Rei, Laventon, Cyllene, Irida, Adaman, even Melli. She missed them all dearly.
There was one that she would miss the most, however.
Warden Ingo was the strangest person she’d met in Hisui, but considering she herself came from the future, that was a good thing. He didn’t treat her with distrust, nor did he bat an eye at her mannerisms that others in that time period found odd. He took her under his wing, so to speak, and Dawn wasn’t sure if she’d have survived her adventure in the past without him. He became the father she never had. He was her rock amidst the storm that was her time in Hisui.
He was obviously from the future as well, though he couldn’t remember it. Dawn just knew that he was as lost as she was, which was why she had practically begged him to come with her to the future.
He refused.
She understood why, of course.
Appearing in a dangerous world with no memories aside from his own name must’ve been terrifying. He had to fight his way into being accepted by the clans, and even then his life was one of solitude. Dawn could tell that he’d been terribly lonely…
Ingo was scared to go through that again. He had no idea what was waiting for him on the other side. What if his mind was wiped clean again? What if it was somehow worse than Hisui?
Dawn hadn’t pressured him too much after he had a panic attack just thinking about starting over again.
He encouraged her to go on without him. He told her that if he remembered his ‘original station’, he would find his way back himself, but she should return home and see her mother again.
She just wished he were with her now…
Especially after learning about his fate.
The moment Dawn had time to herself, she’d looked up ancient Sinnoh history. She just had to know what happened to her pseudo father. Did he get his memories back? Did he eventually return to the future?
The truth hit her like a speeding bullet train, as her dad would say.
Warden Ingo had gotten sick and died not long after the rift crisis was solved, said the impersonal historical website.
He was gone. Died not long after she left.
She should have insisted he come with her to the future. She should have waited for him to feel comfortable enough to come with her. Dawn was so excited to return home that she left someone she considered family behind to die. How selfish of her. How cruel of Arceus.
If she’d just tried harder, Ingo would still be alive and living happily with his brother.
That was another punch to the gut: finally learning about Ingo’s past. He had a brother, an uncle and cousin, and plenty of friends from all across Unova. He was an accomplished battle frontier boss, and if his social media was any indication, he adored his job and the people of his region adored him right back.
Ingo had a life here in the future, and Dawn doomed him to never return to it.
It was with some surprise that Dawn learned Ingo was still around in this time. Time travel was confusing at best, but it made some sense that Ingo could have been pulled into Hisui from a different point than she had been.
She wondered if the news of his eventual disappearance would reach the Sinnoh media. She knew that her own most certainly reached international coverage, and her reappearance likely would as well once the news outlets ran the story. A frontier boss wasn't as publicized as a regional champion, but it seemed that Ingo and Emmet had a sizable following from all over the world. They were quite popular figureheads.
When the news of Ingo’s departure reached Sinnoh, Dawn wondered how would she handle it, knowing that he would never return…
Dawn lay awake at night wondering these things.
Maybe she could prevent Ingo’s ‘derailment’ somehow? Maybe she could go to Unova and warn him. Warn him about what, she didn’t know. She had no idea how he even got pulled into the past in the first place. How could she prevent something she knew nothing about?
It was completely out of her control whether or not Ingo disappeared, she realized with a horrible pain in her heart.
Her dad was going to die in the past, alone and abandoned, and she didn’t even know when it would happen.
Dawn turned onto her side and curled up around her pillow. She bit her lip and tried not to cry again. There was nothing she could do to change the future or past. She just had to live with the fact that she left her family behind to die.
Just as she was losing the battle against her tears, Dawn’s phone lit up and rang upon her nightstand.
She quickly grabbed and silenced it before the sound could wake her mother. It was the middle of the night, after all. Dawn squinted at the number flashing on her screen, confused. She didn’t recognize it, and it had an unfamiliar area code as well. Maybe the paparazzi had somehow gotten ahold of her number and wanted more interviews despite her story having already aired earlier today on a trustworthy news network.
Dawn noisily sniffed and wiped away the evidence of her near crying session and answered the call. Best to nip these in the bud right away.
Dawn opened her mouth to tear into the person on the other end, but was quickly cut off but a very loud, very familiar voice.
“ MY DEAREST AKARI, HELLO! ”
Dawn’s heart stuttered in her chest.
“...Ingo?”
“CORRECT! It is wonderful to hear your voice again, my dear girl!”
Holy shit. Was she dreaming? No, definitely not with how her ears were still stinging from the incredibly loud greeting. That voice, the volume, the use of her middle name, there was no way it could be anyone else on the other side line. This was her Ingo.
“Akari? Akari, are you alright?”
Ah, she’d been silent for a while. Before she could force her frozen vocal cords to cooperate, she heard another, much quieter voice over the phone.
“ I believe it’s verrry late at night in Sinnoh right now, brother. Give her a minute to wake up. ”
There was a pause, and Akari had the forethought to put some distance between the phone and her ear.
“I AM SO TERRIBLY SORRY, AKARI,” Ingo shouted, and Dawn was sure that if her mother didn't wake up when her phone rang, she surely was now. “PLEASE FORGIVE ME IF I WOKE YOU! I CAN CALL AGAIN TOMORROW-“
“NO!” It was Dawn’s turn to shout.
That seemed to break her trance, and suddenly the tears she’d been holding back earlier began coursing down her face for an entirely different reason. A joyous, relieved sob tore from her throat as the floodgates opened.
“Akari? Akari?! Sweetheart, what’s the matter?! Emmet, she’s crying, what do I do?!”
“ I am Emmet, and she’s not my mysterious daughter from the past! I have no idea what to do if you don’t. ”
“You’re the one who is better with lost and upset children, Emmet!”
“ Only because my face doesn’t scare them like yours does. ”
Hearing the two bickering over the phone made giggles bubble up between sobs. Dawn clutched her phone to her chest and made a valiant attempt to compose herself. She’d had a soul-deep yearning to talk to her dad again from the moment she learned of his fate, and here he was calling her, and she was wasting it by crying like a baby.
“Dad-“ she started, but had to clear her throat and noisily snort snot back into her nose before she could properly talk.
“Akari, please blow your nose properly-“
That brought back the giggles. She could practically hear the grimace on his face.
“ Oh dragons, you really are her dad- “
The door to Dawn’s room opened a bit, and she turned to see her mother peering at her worriedly from the crack. Dawn gave her mom a watery smile and gestured to her phone, mouthing ‘tell you later’. Johanna nodded and closed the door again, giving her some privacy.
“I’m- I’m okay, dad.” Dawn managed to choke out.
“Oh, thank goodness.” Ingo sighed, relieved. “It would be awfully difficult for me to comfort you from my current station. Speaking of! As you might have guessed, I have found my home station! All the way across the world in Unova.”
Dawn smiled giddily to herself. “I know! I looked you up as soon as I could. No wonder you could kick my ass so easily. You’re a whole battle frontier brain!”
“Language, young lady.” Ingo admonished, but she could hear the mirth in his voice. “Indeed I am. You’ll have to visit the Battle Subway and face both myself and my brother for a real challenge! Together we are a force to be reckoned with. Ah- I should probably introduce my brother! Terribly sorry-“
There was a muffled shuffling over Dawn’s phone speaker before the quieter voice from before filtered through.
“Hello! I am Emmet. It is verrry nice to meet you. I second my brother’s suggestion! You must come challenge the Subway! It’s not often that I am able to battle a champion! I will be looking forward to winning!”
Dawn giggled when she heard the telltale sounds of the phone being given back to Ingo. She’d read about Emmet’s bluntness while researching Ingo. It seemed that was one thing that rang true from her research. The thought of said research made Dawn frown.
“Dad… when I looked you up…” Her voice faltered, and she had to clear her throat of the sudden lump that formed, “it- it said that you died in Hisui. How… how are you here? Before me? Did Arceus bring you back after…” she couldn’t finish that sentence, but it seemed that Ingo knew what she meant anyway.
“Oh, dear… I was hoping to explain everything before you learned of that unfortunate detail…” His usually loud and boisterous voice was subdued, “I’m afraid that it’s true, my dear girl. I met my end in Hisui. But do not fret! As you can obviously hear, that wasn’t the end of my line! I was merely… derailed for a time. It would be much easier to explain in person, however. Is there any way for us to meet up soon? We could come to Sinnoh-“
“No!” Dawn interrupted. “No, I’ll come to you! I have to challenge your Subway, after all!” And she could use a break from all the scrutiny here in Sinnoh, she didn’t say.
Ingo laughed. Loud and booming. It made something in Dawn’s chest melt. She’d missed her dad terribly…
“I look forward to it, sweetheart.”
Dawn had missed the sweet nicknames, too.
It took some convincing before Johanna reluctantly allowed Dawn to travel to Unova. Cynthia helped pay for the ticket, as she’d seen how the media circus of her return had worn her ragged. Visiting her dad and uncle(?) would hopefully be just what she needed to become reacquainted with the modern world.
She was in for quite the surprise when she got there, however.
At least now she had a nickname of her own to give Ingo.
Bonus:
The moment the breaking news flashed on screen, Ingo was on his feet and practically pressing his face against the tv, much to Emmet’s confusion. They’d just sat down to watch a little tv in the break room before their next shift.
“Ingo, wha-“
“ IT'S AKARI!!! ”
Ingo’s voice was extra loud and excited, and Emmet spotted a few depot agents curiously peek into the break room.
“Who’s-“
“THAT’S AKARI, MY LITTLE LADY!”
Ingo peeled his face off the screen to instead point at the image of an unfamiliar teenager as a news anchor spoke something about a champion. Emmet had no idea who this girl was, but obviously his brother was verrry happy to see her.
“Your… little lady?”
Ingo nodded enthusiastically. “Correct! My daughter must’ve returned! I have to contact her post haste!”
Emmet’s brain blue-screened once those words registered.
“Wh- wait. DAUGHTER?!” Emmet shrieked, leaping to his feet to scurry after his twin, who was striding away and fiddling with his phone.
“Ingo, get back here! You can’t just say you have a daughter and run off! How do you have a daughter?! Did you get BUSY while you were gone?! CAN GHOSTS EVEN HAVE KIDS?? INGO, WAIT !”

Thank you so much for showing me Ingo being gonta’s adoptive dad. This idea is now gonna live rent free in my head.
Also gonta totally helps Emmet increase his Joltik army.
Glad to be of service o7 I’m happy to spread the propaganda
And yes, Gonta amplified Emmet’s joltik problem and honestly Ingo would be really pissed off having all the train cars filled with joltiks but who couldn’t say no to his son’s cute face? Even if Gonta would listen to Ingo the moment he said no

PLA Dad Ingo and Uncle Emmet Au Part 3
So here we are at part 3 of my still yet to be named au. You can find part 1 here and part 2 here. Right now to continue where we left off.
Akari is on her way to meet Volo, alone except for her pokemon team and Lady Sneasler, who had refused to leave Akari as she made her way to the Temple of Sinnoh. She didn't tell anyone where she is going or what she is doing, under the impression Volo was just going to give her another of his many history lessons and tell her how to get the last plate.
Upon reaching the temple, Volo is there to greet her but something seems off. His smile is all teeth and there's a dangerous glint in his eye. It sets alarm bells off in Akari's in head but is too blindsided by such a drastic change in character. to do much of anything as he starts to monologue about his plans to meet Arceus how it'd been him who'd opened the space time rift with Giratina, how Ingo's misplacement was caused by him, how he watched and waited for the people of this region to tear themselves apart. Just so he could get the chance to meet the so called God of pokemon.. What breaks the damn and opens the floodgates however is Volo spitting cruelly "Warden Ingo only ever saw you as a means to an end, no one ever truly cared about you."
This hits home for Akari and without Ingo here to reassure her and her current distance from the villagers and the clans only further driving the untrue point home in her mind Volo is able to do one of the things he set out to do. Throw Akari off her game.
Akari's reaction is immediate as she's overwhelmed by emotions, her deepest insecurity since the events of red sky has be voiced by Volo, someone who she thought was her friend who was one of the handful of people she could trust now Ingo is gone. Volo only ever used Akari to further his own goals and if Volo who'd been so kind and open had used her who's to say he was wrong about Ingo. Ever since she got to Hisui everything she's done has been for the benefit of someone else. There's always been an ulterior motive of some kind, so maybe what he said was true. Ingo probably hadn't given her a second thought now that he was back where he belonged.
She sinks to her knees tears streaming down her face as she sobs brokenly. Sneasler who had been growling at Volo moves to stand protectively in front of the girl her claws raised threateningly snarling a warning. Volo merely laughs and continues taunting Akari.
"Does it hurt little hero, knowing that all the people who you cared for couldn't give a single damn for you, that the man you viewed as a father has never felt an ounce of affection for you. That he put up with you just so he could go home. I'd imagine he was quite grateful to leave you behind."
Akari covers here ears as she breathes raggedly between sobs trying desperately to block out Volo's words. Even if what Volo said was true about Ingo using her at least he had been kind about it, had never thrust the expectation on her just let her chose her own course about it, because he knew it was her nature to help and ultimately that's what she would do.
Soon her despair gives way to anger, anger at being thrust away from a home she cannot recall, at being forced to work tirelessly to even be given basic necessities that she deserved just for being a human being, necessities that shouldn't have had to earn. Anger from being betrayed time and time again from the people she thought she could trust. Enough was enough.
Akari moves to shakily stand on her feet and steps out from behind Sneasler motioning for the noble to stay back, Samurott's pokeball ready in her hand and a defiant expression set on her face. She was so tired of dealing with one crisis after another, Volo wasn't going to taint the few good moments of her time here anymore than he already had. Volo smirks and releases his Spiritomb giving a mocking bow. Samurott materializes moments later ready for a battle, reacting to Akari's own charged emotions. The battle begins.
It goes on for what feels like hours. Akari's emotions guide her through this battle and its obvious Volo was expecting this outcome. He has a full team. What he was not expecting was for Akari to gain her balance again so quickly. The more they battled the more Akari came to her senses. Ingo did care for her in some way she saw the anguish look in his eyes when she sent him home, how he reached out for her as Dialga and Palkia's power whisked him away. She will not allow Volo to cause her doubt. Ingo had cared for her.
Samurott chips away at Spiritomb, then blasts through Volo's Arcanine before she withdraws him. Her beloved Zoroark takes down the Lucario with one well aimed flamethrower and her Garchomp goes toe to toe with Volo's own, falling to Togekiss' moonblast after a well timed switch but not before valiantly getting off a powerful poison jab. Gardevoir swoops in and finishes it off and Volo's final pokemon a Roserade falls to a few powerful psychics. Her team is a bit battered, with only her own Arcanine and her Luxray still at full health and down one but she is victorious. Or so Akari thinks. Volo calls fourth Giratina and it is a monster.
Gardevoir doesn't even have time to dodge before the legendary dragon fells her with a shadowball. Luxray comes out and paralyses it but that seems to nothing and he goes down to Earth power. Akari has gone down from one pokemon down to half her team in mere moments. She is terrified. Giratina exudes a powerful aura and it seems to bring all her negative emotions to the surface. Arcanine comes out and faints in a similar way to Luxray only able to pull off a single rockslide before doing so. Zoroark comes out with a vengeance, snarling ferociously as it barrages Giratina with as many shadow balls as it can but he too goes down when Giratina hits him with a ghost move Akari has never seen before. Now its just her and her beloved starter left.
Samurott while battered does not hesitate to stand between Akari and the beast of the distortion world. By some miracle her first companion tanks a dragon claw that at his current health should have fainted him and with a mighty cry manages on last night slash to finish Giratina off before he too goes down. Akari runs to him and cradles his face petting his snout then returns him to his pokeball. "Thank you Samurott, Thank you everyone." she whispers.
Giratina lies on the ground unmoving and then suddenly it isn't. A blast of air throws Akari back and she lets out a cry of pain as she collides with a pillar. She can see Sneasler driving her claws into the stone to hold her own body in place and when the dust settles. Giratina is up and moving again having taken on another form and it's advancing towards her. Sneasler immediately intercepts, claws glowing purple an indication of dire claw being used. Giratina sends her sprawling but the noble pokemon lets out a guttural snarl and scrabbles to her feet, determined to stand in between Akari and the dragon.
"Sneasler please, get out of here!" Akari begs. The noble ignores her pleading and pays the price, with a flick of its new appendages Giratina once more is bats Sneasler across what remains of the temple put of sight, her body hits the ground with a thud. Sneasler lets out small whimper and doesn't get up again.
Akari finds herself unable to move as Giratina advances once more, her entire body aches and blood slowly trickles down the side of her face from a shallow cut. Similar cuts litter her arms and there's a sharp pain in her right ankle. This is it, she was going to die. She was never going to get the chance to see if her dad made it back to his brother, she would die here in the past and he'd find out about it through whatever historical record if any mentioned it if he ever went looking. Akari closes her eyes and waits trying to block out Volo's cries telling Giratina to finish her off. The Pokémon's massive shadow falls over her and Akari tries to fold in on herself in a feeble attempt to protect herself. She hears the sound of a move being charged and takes in a deep breath. The move never connects. Instead there's a sound like thunder and a blinding light consumes the temple. Before two voices ring out.
"Chandelure use shadowball!"
"Eelektross thunderbolt!"
Giratina roars in pain and rears back the combination of two moves unexpected and Volo shouts in outrage. Akari opens her eyes to see two figures in billowing coats of black and white accompanied by pokemon she's never seen before standing in front of her. She'd recognize one of those voices anywhere. "D-dad?"
Ingo at the sound of Akari's voice swivels and crouches down his frown deepening eyes ablaze as he takes in her prone form. He gently props Akari up against the pillar and cradles her face with his hands, thumbs brushing away tears she didn't even know she was shedding.
"I'm here Akari, I'm here, I'm not going anywhere without you." Ingo reassures. Akari lets out a choked sob, and leans into his touch. Emmet who had been keeping an eye on Giratina and Volo glances back and takes in Akari's state. His smile turns vicious, eyes razor sharp as he returns his focus to their opponents. Both Chandelure and Eelektross ready at his side. This was a fight Emmet would happily take on by himself.
"I am Subway Boss Emmet, I am Ingo's twin brother. You hurt my niece I am going to make you regret that verrrry much. Prepare for defeat my destination is the station of victory whiles yours is the station of defeat."
Giratina doesn't stand a chance after that. Emmet uses all his frustration and anger and hurt at having his twin ripped away from him and the niece he's never formally met getting attacked into the battle. It's a laughably short battle. Giratina goes down and then flees as Volo curses it. Emmet uses this chance to approach Volo and crack him square across the face with his fist. Before he can do anymore damage Volo makes a run for it jumping off the cliff and flying away on his Togekiss.
Emmet bemoans the chance to truly make him pay but quickly hurries over to Ingo and Akari. He takes note of the pokeballs scattered around and gathers them up on his way as well as a weird purple plate and holds them out to the exhausted, still crying girl who despite her injuries has latched on to Ingo. Ingo to his credit doesn't look like he'll be letting her go anytime soon either.
"I am Emmet I believe these are yours, not to worry when we reach a safe station, I can fix your partners right up."
Akari nods hiccupping slightly and reaches for them letting go of Ingo briefly to clip them onto her belt. Emmet can tell that his niece is overwhelmed. There will be time for proper introductions later. Maintenance must be scheduled for his niece first. Emmet spots her bag and places the mysterious plate in it. Questions can be asked later for now as always the safety and well-being of their passengers come first. Emmet watches over his brother and niece until Akari has managed to calm her sobs and pulls slowly away from Ingo. Her eyes widen after a few moments seemingly remembering something and all of a sudden the girl is trying to haul herself to her feet panicked.
Ingo doesn't let her get very far, rising to stand himself and then sweeping into a princess carry careful not to aggravate her injuries. "Akari its okay" he soothes. "Volo and Giratina are gone."
This is not what is wrong evidently as Akari begins to babble about Sneasler and how the noble was thrown out of the temple by sheer force when trying to protect her. Ingo rushes out the temple with Emmet close behind and they find Sneasler laying on her side eyes closed. Emmet immediately reaches for a max revive and carefully feeds it to the fainted pokemon. Sneasler's eyes snap open taking in her surroundings. She lets out a cry of delight at seeing her beloved warden again and sniffs at Emmet, nodding slightly before letting out a low keening sound at the state of Akari in his arms. Akari raises an arm weakly to pat the noble. "Thank you for trying to protect me." Ingo says his own thanks to his noble for protecting his child and Sneasler huffs and places a clawed hand on his head and pats it.
The group make their way down the mountain and heading for the summit camp. Unaware of the morphed azure flute and the insistent message flashing across Akari's arc-phone buried deep in her satchel.
"Seek out all pokemon, then face me"

PLA Dad Ingo and Uncle Emmet AU
Right so I'm adding my own contribution to the PLA fandom for Dad Ingo and Uncle Emmet. This gonna be quite long-winded, so heads up.
So this AU starts not long after the calming of a frenzied Palkia/Dialga and Akari's exile and then reacceptance into Jublife village.
Akari naturally is still shaken up over how easily the village turned on her cause you know she's a 15 year old child who was thrown into a new time and place with no memories and some weird mission given to her by God and all she wanted was a home.
Despite the support of Cyllene, Rei and Professor Laventon, and even after she saved them all due to Kammado's whole we don't trust outsiders mindset a good number of the villagers are hesitant to even go near her and some of the more paranoid ones think Akari only 'fixed' the red sky to ease them into a false sense of security before continuing her whatever it is she had planned.
As a result of these villagers unable to let go of such a harmful mindset whispers follow Akari around the village. Combine this with the unease and fear she still feels around Beni who made an attempt on her life and Kammado who threw her out even after she worked herself to the bone on his orders. Akari does her best to only return to the village when absolutely necessary to hand over extra research notes and such when Laventon isn't in the field.
She ends up spending most of her time in the Coronet Highlands with Ingo and Lady Sneasler. Ingo doesn't hesitate to offer his Warden's tent and Lady Sneasler's den as a place of refuge for the her. The two had always felt a sense of kinship right from the beginning having both been stripped of their home and memories and thrust into this strange new world. Over the time she'd spent previous in the highlands surverying and quelling Lord Electrode's frenzy they came to view each other as family (neither of them have admitted it to the other in fear of scaring the other off). Akari is even Lady Sneasler's 2nd option for baby sneasel watching when her Warden is unable to due patrolling the highlands.
Akari will not find out for a long time that when Ingo found out about her exile he had to be held back by Zisu while Cyllene talked him down from confronting Kammado and how the Warden now walks into town with his Gliscor glaring at Beni and the Commander so fiercely the two have taken to outright avoiding him whenever he is there to help train the security corps. They both tried battling him at the start and were soundly beaten unable to beat even one of Ingo's team and Ingo used the time to warn them to stay far away from Akari after that.
Anyways a few months of living with Ingo and battling with him allows for them both to recover a few memories about where they came from. The day Ingo is finally able to recall Emmet and Chandelure is the day the two finally piece together that they are most likely from the future.
Remembering his brother and his beloved partner is a catalyst and soon after Ingo's memory is fully recovered and now longs for his brother, his pokemon, his home and Gear station. He hides it well but Akari notices and is determined to send him home, not realizing that while he longs for home Ingo is loathe to leave his pseudo-daughter behind and is content to wait for her to complete her mission and find a way home for them. He knows Emmet and his pokemon will understand. They never abandon their passengers.
Akari gets an idea not long after thinking about it, at this point in time the search for the plates with Volo is slow going and she has yet to finish the vague request of 'Seek out all pokemon' but she does have the legendary pokemon of time and space so maybe they can help. So while Ingo is patrolling Akari makes the trek to the Temple of Sinnoh and lets Dialga and Palkia out of their pokeballs and asks if the two can send them home. Adaman and Irida are with her to translate both eager to help her when she reveals that her and Ingo have recovered enough of their memories to realize where they're from.
Unfortunately Dialga and Palkia reveal sorrowfully that they are unable to send Akari home as she was sent her by a power much stronger than their own but they can send Ingo home as he was displaced and was never supposed to be here in the first place.
Akari agrees in a heartbeat willing to do anything so that her the man she's come to view as her father can go home to his twin where he belongs even it means potentially never seeing him again. Akari is no fool the task she's been given could take years and she refuses to keep Ingo stuck here with her when he could go home. Not when Akari isn't 100% sure she'll be able to go home even if she finishes her mission.
So she asks Dialga and Palkia to wait a few days and then she'll return here with Ingo so they can send him home even if he himself may not want to leave without her (Akari is appreciative for Ingo's care for her but thinks he only does due to their shared experiences and out of obligation so cannot fathom that he would rather leave with her than without her even with his memories restored). She doesn't want him separated from his brother any longer than necessary.
Irida agrees that Ingo may not want to leave without her so they devise a plan to get Ingo to the temple with the aid of Lady Sneasler who while will be sad to lose her warden also knew that he would one day return to where he came from (Lady Sneasler herself plans to go with Akari and reunite with her beloved Warden but first she must make sure one of her kits is ready to take up the mantle of noble.)
The day comes to send Ingo home and the unsuspecting warden is led to the temple by Sneasler and he finds Akari there with Irida and few others from Pearl Clan. The pearl clan members say their farewells with Irida thanking him for his service as Lady Sneasler's Warder and wishing him the best. Sneasler herself lays a clawed hand on his shoulder and purrs - her own way of thanking him. That just leaves Akari. Who at this point Ingo believes is coming with him.
Akari says a tearful goodbye hugging Ingo in a way not unlike when she would go to him for comforts on nights where nightmares of Beni, Kammado and other members of Jublife village misdeeds against her wouldn't leave her. It's only then Ingo realizes she's not coming with him. He starts to refuse, to try and convince Akari he could help her with her mission and the two could go home together but it's too late. Akari calls for Dialga and Palkia to send him home. The last thing Ingo hears before the girl he'd come to see as his daughter is torn away from him is a sorrowful "I love you dad, I know you probably don't see me that way but thank you for taking care of me." Then everything fades to black.
When Ingo can finally focus again he finds himself in one of the tunnels in Gear Station and Emmet who thinks he's a passenger who lost their way is coming to assist him. The two meet eyes and for a moment its silent before the two are rushing towards each other and hugging and crying and Ingo is swept up in the elation of finally being home and oh he couldn't wait for Akari to meet Emmet and then the shoe drops and remembers that Akari isn't with him because she sent him home before she could go home herself and that she never knew that he did in fact see her as his daughter and his heart breaks just a little.
Emmet who can tell something is off with his brother immediately takes him home and after another happy reunion with Ingo and their Pokemon starts asking questions. Ingo tells him everything from how confused he was when arriving in Hisui with no memories bar a vague recollection of Emmet and Chandelure to becoming Sneasler's Warden and meeting Akari and the whole red sky debacle and how he came home. How he was forced to leave behind Akari because she sent him home without her because she could and how he's happy to be home but devasted that it came at the price of leaving his daughter there. How he left her albeit unwillingly with Akari thinking he didn't care about her when she was his child in everyway but blood.
Emmet listens to his twin's story unravel and decides then and there they are going to find Akari even if they have to travel to Sinnoh and tame gods, this girl meant something to his brother had selflessly sent him home despite being one of the few people in the time she was trapped in willing to protect her and shield her whereas almost everyone else would get her to do the hard work.
So Emmet looks at his brother smiles with fire in his eyes and tells him to go pack a bag and a strong team and rest for their upcoming trip to Sinnoh to find his niece. The hopeful look in his brothers eyes and the crushing hug Emmet receives before Ingo goes to do just that is everything to Emmet. He just got his brother back and he'd be damned if he didn't get his niece back too. Emmet and Ingo had always been a two car train and anyone Ingo cared for Emmet did as well. Besides it'd be fun to finally be able to open a triple line and if his niece could tame two gods she was definitely up to the task of being a subway boss.
Well I hope you enjoyed this! There's probably going to be a part 2 cause this idea ran away from me! Lemme know if you'd like to see it!
Part 2 can now be found here!

Happy Father’s Day!
Akari got into a scrape catching an alpha Gliscor. While her Crobat went to fetch help, the rest of her team watches over her.

You know, despite being an emotional mess over Submas, I've only cried once over the twins.
The rest of my tears were spent on Ingo and Akari/Rei's familial relationship. Bonus if it's Ingo and Irida instead. Lol
The flipping parent-child dynamics will never fail to make me sob like it is the end of the world. Whether they would be blood-related or found family, it doesn't matter, I'll simply burst into tears. Gosh darn it. :'D

The thought of Arceus escaping confinement terrified her, especially if she wasn’t able to fight it. What if it escaped and she locked up in fear like she had been for a month now? “I can’t keep freezing up every time I see or hear or think of Arceus! I need to get stronger, I need to be able to fight it! I couldn’t fight it last time, if anything happens to you or Uncle Em or Aunt Elesa I need to be able to do something! I can’t just keep relying on someone else every time I get in trouble! I need to be able to rely on myself, I can’t keep being weak!”
Recovery isn't straightforward and can't be achieved just because you want it to be. Recovery takes time and effort and help. Sometimes those things are hard to ask for.
That's why we have family to support us, blood related or not.

Arceus playing sims is such an image! Very ”let me do my dark bidding on the internet” vibes, personally. also the fact that the mc develops a personality? a plus! arceus makes a person and it can fit so much anxiety! also! let mc use judgement! as a treat! volos gonna get it! (also, yes i am going to assume that ingo took one look at a god fragment child and didnt even ask before adopting that! he might have to share custody with the other nobles and sneasler in particular but he is verrrry dad shaped! Gotta be a dad!)
Arceus loves playing the Sims. Arceus loves to remove ladders from pools after throwing a pool party. Arceus builds trap basements with no escape. Arceus uses cheatcodes for mayhem. Arceus gets in trouble with their children for not making dinner because they were so busy playing Sims 😂
I DID MAKE THAT EXACT JOKE EARLIER FAJSKFLS Arceus: maybe this one will work :) I've made a human! Giratina: youve ruined a perfectly good aspect of yourself with an aipom. Look at it. It's got anxiety.
There's an alternate take to Volo's calling in of Giratina where Giratina recognizes the god fragment, scruffs them, and then thanks Volo for locating them and bringing them to Giratina before vanishing through the portal. Volo is kind of 0_0; before he makes his way down, runs into Ingo, and reveals that he may or may not have lost Akarei to a space-time worm 🥺👉👈
As a Dad!Ingo supported, I absolutely support Dad!Ingo rights and propaganda. The little god fragment is absolutely a child of his. They just might also be everyone else's child as well 😂😂 It takes a village and whatnot... I haven't decided yet since it's still such a new AU for me 💚
