hawke should’ve had the option to stick up for carver when aveline refuses to give him a chance in the city guard. i feel like it’d really bother them that aveline sees how desperate their family is for coin and still won’t give their brother a job he may well be good at, all because she...what? assumes he’ll buckle under the pressure of answering to somebody? we know that he won’t because if he goes on to join the wardens, carver thrives. i think he could’ve thrived in the kirkwall guard, too.

Since I dropped my D&D players into the world of Valdemar's Creed I did eight of the cast as characters cards. At the top, as voted on by you lovelies we have Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad as a Gryphon. Mostly white in color save for ten of his feathers tipped red. Next to him, as voted for by you all, is Kadar Al-Sayf, Desmond's life bonded who like Desmond possesses no magic. Next is the Main character Desmond Miles in his regular clothes that have basically become his Jackdaws Mercenary Company outfit. Next to him is Salvais or Leonardo Da Vinci as a Hertasi. Lastly on the top row is the mischievous and silent Malik, yes Malik Al-Sayf. On the bottom we start with Haytham Kenway as a Companion, Shay Cormac as a Herald, Yusuf Tazim as a bard, and lastly Daniel Cross' bond bird Arno, yes Arno Dorian.

Honestly, I think it depends on whether or not Varric returns the crush?

If he doesn’t, he finds it cute.

“It’s the chest hair, isn’t it?”

He’s gentle when it comes to letting you down, simply explaining that while he is deeply flattered, he doesn’t feel the same way.

After that, it’s water under the bridge, he won’t bring it up if you won’t.

Now if he does return the feelings, he’s conflicted.

It’s been a long time since he had a crush on someone. So when he starts feeling that fluttery, sort of sickeningly sweet feeling for you… all bets are off.

Before he knows of your crush on him, he acts sneaky.

He’s writing poems for you, getting you some wildflowers he found. He gets an idea of your interests as he spends time with you, and finds himself making notes of it all.

If it gets out that you have a crush on him first, he’s floored. Like I said, it’s been a while since he had a crush on someone, probably longer since someone returned those feelings.

If you’re embarrassed, Varric immediately comforts you, and innocently responds that he returns your feelings.

Now if his crush gets out first, he plays it off. And by that, I don’t mean he doesn’t own it. He owns it.

What I mean is that he doesn’t use it as an opportunity to force his feelings on you. If you like him back, amazing! He’s so happy! But, if you don’t, he totally understands and respects your decision.

Now that the other polls are closed I want to see who the ultimate Dragon Age companion is!

My thoughts on the other poll results under the read more!

I wasn't necessarily going to do a deep dive into my thoughts but after watching y'all clowns this last week I have some thoughts.

Dragon Age: Origins: I will admit that I was surprised to see how strong the Zevran love was. As an Alistair fan, I will admit sometimes I get blind to how great all the other companions, especially love interests, are. So surprised but pleasantly surprised! The rest of the results aren't too shocking, but I have one question for the 4.3% of you that voted for Loghain: Are you okay? Like really I almost didn't add him because the thought of anybody voting for him was laughable, but 4.3% of you really proved me wrong and I don't know how to feel about it, but I mostly feel anger.

Dragon Age: 2: A poll with 9 options and 921 votes ended with a tie and while I can't put my finger on it I somehow feel that fits perfectly with DA:2. Also, this poll had the most votes by nearly 300 votes, and I love that the most underrated Dragon Age game had the most votes. It truly deserves it.

Dragon Age: Inquisition: This game had the least enthusiasm in the tags. I saw many "I guess Dorians" which is totally opposite of the aggressive sweep tags I saw in the DA:2 and DA:O polls. I don't know that I had even realized how meh the companions were compared to the other game until I really had to try and pick one.

In conclusion, this was a blast and it was fun reading everybody's tags and seeing parts of the Dragon Age fandom I don't usually see. I can't wait to see who wins overall and I am already contemplating whether I will do Mass Effect once this is over!

the whole time i’ve been converting the da2 conversations i’ve been worrying about follower_banter.cnv because it’s the largest file BY FAR and i was able to do it successfully but google sheets really wasn’t a fan of working with a 94,000 row file

#the next biggest is 55k so. it was a lot #but the biggest of everything i have left is 12k so we’re doing fine #i’m probably about halfway through all the files? maybe slightly more?#da #da2 #personal #yes i’m doing it in google sheets rather than excel. excel probably could have handled it a lot easier #but it would be more annoying to have to upload everything later. i like everything being accessible on my devices from the start #luckily it’s not 94k lines after making it a nice spreadsheet. just 9k #on average each final spreadsheet is about 10% of the length of the original #5 biggest files if i’m remembering correctly: 1. follower banter (94k); 2. aveline dialogue (55k); 3. anders dialogue (50k);#4. mota banter (45k); 5. legacy banter (can’t remember k)#legacy banter might not be 5th it’s been a few days since doing that so i don’t remember #the banter files are so long because a) it has all the random banter between all companions. there’s a lot of it #and b) there are a lot of lines of logic; checking who’s in the party and which banters have already been done etc

Welcome and Rules~!

Heyya everyone, thought it was about time I made a proper into page to get this thing set up~!

The name's Finch! I've been into DA for a while now and finally wanted to take a crack at making some good old imagines and character reacts. I'm able to write for all current Dragon age games and I'm trying to catch up on the books/comics!

Rules:

I'm able to write Headcanons, Scenarios, Imagines and Character/Companion reactions with any character you'd like~! Please be sure to specify the type of request or else I usually default to hcs! There's no character limit though the more characters requested at one time the longer it will take to write, so please keep that in mind when requesting.

I usually default to the Warden/Hawke/Inq with gender neutral pronouns unless requested otherwise so if yo want the s/o to be someone else with a specific backstory/origin please let me know when you're requesting, I'd love to write for them!

I'm fine with writing NSFW hcs/scenarios, and those will be tagged accordingly when they are posted!

Feel free to be as vague or specific as you'd like! Though I love the specific ones as they give me more to work with and allow me to give you more detailed answers!

When requesting a match up please be sure to include preferred pronouns and preferences so I can best match you up! If you want a specific game matchup please be sure to include that as well! Just like requests, the more information the better, as it gives me a cleraer idea o the best dragon age match up for you~! It's no problem if you need to send in multiple asks, so long as you include an identifying feature/emoji to link them together!
