there is something so deeply satisfying about brennan saying the ratgrinders underestimated the bad kids going into the last stand, seeing that jace was explicitly telling them to lay off the bad kids and that it could cause problems, and the SECOND the RG actually saw them in action and got made they immediately drop off the face of the planet and go into hiding

i feel like i’m definitely redoing analysis that y’all have already been on but omg rue’s trying to connect w hob during the hunt then immediately reversing direction is made so much more poignant by my dashboard osmosis knowledge of their true shape. wanting someone and having it reciprocated but paradoxically recoiling bc the image that they see and desire doesn’t feel like you is a top-notch form of trans angst
