Current brain rot updates:
I have started building Warhammer Minis and have about a dozen custom armies I want to build.
In no particular order, they are:
1) a space fairing research planet-ship that has turned to piracy to survive and now employs pirates, Clowns, undead mechas, and their edgy cousins to find "ancient booty" (read: archileologically rich, but monetarily worthless).
2) an alien hivemind that has copied the way other species create soul jars to survive death so they the hivemind can have a little extra fuel for its buffet trip through the universe
3) Another version of the hivemind that uplifts a religious cult of hybrids it uses to weaken the planet. This specific version, Dr. Moreau body-horrors the hybrids into traditional murder monsters.
4) WEREOLF VAMPIRES
5) Poor bastards that were killed by magic living tree and got souls trapped in said trees. So now they exist as half undead zombies half life magic tree people. Everyone hates them.
6) Magic cannibals who usually work for the bad guys decided to go good. They still eat people and convert people into magic cannibals by their mere presence, but their aim is to only eat the bad guys the good people point them at. Basically, "we have accepted we are evil bastards, so let's be evil bastards pointed in a generally good-osh direction"
I have more but I need to sleep...

Aether Weaver Lore
Below the cut is the full details of the custom lore I created for Syrus' custom class, job and role within FFXIV.
Description and Definition:
An aether weaver is a type of enchanter and magic user that is unique to the village that Syrus comes from. It is a type of specific skill that seiðrmaðr and vǫlur have the potential to learn if their aether reserves are large enough, stable enough and are able to obtain a mentor willing to part with their knowledge. It is a practice that involves not only voidsent and their magic, but a variation of red mage, black mage and reaper abilities so they can handle raw aether and manipulate it at will to their various desires. In addition to this, they can use the aether around them, even aspected aether for half the cost to their energy reserves. Lastly, due to their contracts revolving around a specific voidsent type, their rituals are unique in the fact they can tap into another's mind and aether should the participant be willing and the correct preparations conducted.
Overall, they are a versatile type of mage with the ability to adapt their skills on the fly to suit the challenges of the situation they face. However, they are also a mage that must remain aware of their abilities and limitations else they may have to deal with the consequences of their own power overwhelming and consuming them.
History and Background:
While the exact beginnings of how aether weavers came to be are unknown, it is theorized they came about as a consequence of changing environments. A situation of adapting to ensure the longevity of the village. Based on how their slice of the Golmore Jungle changed where the land became aetherially rich and often has large deposits of crystals well beneath the earth, the change was suspected to have occurred somewhere between the second and third calamity. The people overall became a lot more spiritual of the green word, that during these crises believed they have angered their world in some way so as magic evolved and their spiritual sense, they got more deeply involved until they and their very area started to change. As one might suspect, as the land becomes saturated with aether and Viera born with deep aetherial wells, it tends to attract the opposite. Voidsent. For a long time the Grimrost village and close neighboring villages struggled with voidsent until they adapted.
First came skilled specialized shamans, those of healers and those of death. Then came the aether weavers, who were not only protectors and curators, but capable of fighting the seen and unseen. While the shamans looked after the soul, spirit and body, the weavers looked after life, land and mind. It was through this shift in power that the very village itself changed and they became wholly unique. From revering the green word, they would also pay respects to the protective and idle spirits that would gather to their village ruins and banish the spirits and voidsent of hostile intention.
Even the layout of the village changed, becoming circular in design. While they mainly resided in the treetops and select ritualistic sites, at the heart of the village was a great lake with a large tree bursting out of it, the home of the elder. During the night the lake would glow from the deep underground deposits of crystal. The ring of trees that followed afterward were the ring of the village, the ring of the village guardians, ring of the vǫlur, ring of the seiðrmaðr and then the expansive territory of the wardens littered throughout. Circles were an important feature to them as their existence was an endless cycle of life, death and rebirth.
And while it is unknown whether the Grimrost village still stands due to a series of unexplainable and unfortunate events that led to a village crisis, those that have survived are scattered throughout. While some of the Viera went to other villages, many stayed behind and those that were on the fringes of their territory had no choice but to flee or fight in the vain hope of survival. However, no researcher has been able to get close to the village since, the jungle thick with scars of the event and protective wards that warp the mind. Though it is said that they are still haunted by an unknown voidsent beast that led them to their destruction.
Practices and Uses:
Everyday:
While everyday uses are limited in application there are some that aether weavers have to make life a little easier for them. It can be as simple as producing a ball of light from their raw aether or channeling the earth to give them a boost to reach high places. These effects are more subtle and are designed to simply make things easier but are not heavily relied upon as their skills are better put elsewhere.
In saying that however, for those that are not in the Golmore Jungle, they had to learn to adapt their skills in order to survive an urban world. In the case of Syrus who was lucky enough to end up in Thavnair and under the guidance of a few kind souls, he learned to manipulate his skills into creating unique items. In other words, enchanting. While he likes to craft the items himself first and foremost, he then goes an extra step to enchant them based on what he believes fits or based on what his clients see fit. Alongside this, the adaptation to the urban world has opened doors for him to more openly study and learn magic, to restore antique magical items, decipher and understand the unusual and in unique cases help those with specific issues. While there is more freedom in a business and survival sense, the everyday actions remain simple.
Ritual:
Aether Weavers only have one type of ritual they conduct which requires the use of their voidsent aiding their mind and possessing their body without taking control. While in a village setting a shaman would watch over their body to ensure the Voidsent doesn’t whisk their life away or their aether wells sapped dry but when they are by themselves, it is solely up to the Aether Weaver to know when to stop which can often be easier said than done.
This ritual by an aether weaver is called a “dreaming”. A ritual designed to dive into the mind of a willing participant so they can assess dreams, thoughts and the mind. This is possible due to the type of voidsent that aether weavers utilize which is covered in the section ‘Voidsent Type and Contract Details.’ However, the purpose of the ritual is to decipher dreams, understand the state of the mind and in turn find a way to read it, repair it or replace what is haunting the individual. The way the ritual is done is that the participant needs to be willing and their mind open. Usually to open the mind, an aether weaver will brew a herbal tea where the ingredients have a lucid effect on the drinker after 15 minutes. The tea through the various leaves used is designed to make the drinker tired, yet lucid, their body heavy but their mind fully awake and highly observant to their world and their thoughts. This makes it easier for an aether weaver to dive into ones thoughts without having to fight past mental barriers which can create mental trauma.
Yet to even dive into the mental landscape of the dreaming, not only does the aether weaver have to channel their voidsent but they need to keep at least one hand on their participant. If the touch is severed, it can have serious consequences for the aether weaver and sometimes the participant. This can include mental trauma, trapped consciousness and/or death. While precautions are put in place like laying down and shadow tendrils to lock the hand in place, it is still something that both parties must heavily consider. This ritual is not conducted lightly or frequently.
Healing:
The healing practices of Aether Weavers are not typical and like rituals are not done often due to how taxing they are on the Aether Weaver. What Aether Weavers do from a healing standpoint is repair aether channels by stitching channels back together via their own aether or the aether around them if a person is inclined to a specific aspect. While this can be taxing if the damage is extensive, it isn’t as difficult as unblocking aetheral channels. Usually this is done gradually with magic training put inbetween, a long process with steady and pain free results. However, if a situation dictates this is not possible or if the client is wanting the fix done immediately that is when things become dangerous for the aether weaver and painful for the client.
The Aether Weaver will not only have to pull on the maximum capability of their skills but also rely extremely heavily on their voidsent for an extra boost of power to grab hold of their clients aether. While matters are put in place to reduce pain for both participants, pain will still exist as what the aether weaver needs to do is grab an individual's aether around the area that is blocked and force it through, shattering the block. Usually this comes with a painful and large surge of power but until the process is done, the Aether Weavers hands once more cannot be removed from the client's body. Yet how does this work? Once at full capability, the Aether Weaver using their voidsent, taps into the body of their client, connecting by void magicks and shadow. It's intensive, fast, and painful for both parties but brings results as long as the person has the physical and mental steel for it. If they don’t, they can usually end up worse off and will need to rest for a significantly long time or get additional aid. For the aether weaver, if things become too much, they have a high risk of being taken over by their voidsent which can have disastrous effects or lead to a feeding frenzy.
This aside, their traditional healing methods of using magic to heal wounds is weak when compared to other individuals trained in the healing arts. The Aether Weavers skill is useful for patching wounds on the fly, especially during fights or tense situations, but it is no more than a bandage in order to enable survival and the ability to see someone who is skilled in the proper healing arts. Their healing is best described as putting a bandaid on a cut.
Battle:
Aether weavers are versatile fighters and while their skills can be related to a combination of classes they are calculating on the battlefield. To find the weaknesses of their enemy is their primary focus on the battlefield while ensuring their own survival. At times this makes them difficult to play within a team environment as they are often used to handling situations on their own or from a distance but once they are used to a dynamic and understand each person's behaviors and roles, they will work with them. Using a combination of their own aether, the aether around them and void magicks they primarily distract, wear down their enemy, attack and take opportunities when they see or create them. While they are vulnerable to damage as aether weavers' strengths don’t lie in constitution, they have the ability to lessen some blows with their void magicks. However, they are not known to wield heavy weapons or heavy armor like plate and can struggle against enemies of this make in close quarters. Depending on the enemy they are facing and understanding their own strengths they will either fight up close and personal with their voidsent aiding them, or from a distance, relying more on their magic, often a pattern of both being blended together.
In terms of weapons there is no specific style of weapon that an aether weaver prefers, however the most commonly used are light blades like rapiers to remain quick, specialist blades like scythes where precision is paramount without having to get to close and/or a magical focus that they either keep on their person at all times, making them hard to disarm, or in a weapon such as a staff or enchanted book. In the case of Syrus, he keeps his focus on his body at all times (around his neck or on his fingers), so should he be disarmed he can still call on aetherial blades, though he tends to limit the use as it requires a lot of effort and concentration to keep them solidified when compared to slinging spells. Outside of this, he has a preference for rapiers or scythes, picking the weapon based on the type of fight he is predicting or had on hand at that moment.
Overall, they are quick moving, calculating fighters and what they lack in traditional magic healing abilities and tanking abilities they make up for in the way they can adapt to their environment and enemies.
Progression of Voidsent Corruption:
Aether Weavers have to maintain a careful balance when it comes to their magic and voidsent aligned skills and over time, especially with heavy use, corruption can and will show on their body. It is important for the aether weaver to recognise the different stages they are at in terms of their skill use and corruption. They learn quickly not to go beyond a certain point as it can mean possession, death or consumption. Below is a general visual guide of an aether weaver first engaging their skills through their focus of choice and going up to the point of max corruption. The very last picture demonstrates the physical appearance of the cool down period that can last anywhere from a few hours to several weeks where skill usage has to be limited and very careful. During the cool down period the markings not only change colour but slowly fade.

Voidsent Type and Contract Details:
Like people there are many different kinds of voidsent with different personality types. As such the voidsents that aether weavers prefer are not those of aggression or strength but those who are much like themselves in their skill and will serve their purpose. These voidsents are ‘sandman’ voidsents, a nickname provided to the creatures that will infest the mind and dreams of people. They are neither bad nor good and are a creature that can give terrible nightmares, night terrors or such blissful dreams you don’t want to wake up, or struggle to wake up until with enough of these dreams you simply surrender your aether to the voidsent to continue living in the dream or to stop the suffering. It is through this that the very contract is done and performed. A would be aether weaver before they can be called a master of their art gets induced into a deep sleep, others summoning the voidsent and then offering the sleeping body to the voidsent. It is then up to the individual to survive the dream or make their way out.
With any pact with a voidsent there is no guarantee of survival during this rite, but if one does survive it, the bond is sealed via a magical contract forming on the hand of the aether weaver. This contract is only visible on the skin when the aether weaver is going through their corruption phases from too much use of their skill. However, one thing to know, the voidsent will become protective over their master and will do whatever is necessary to protect them and their aether, after all, it is now guaranteed to be theirs when the end eventually comes.
Yet what does the voidsent look like? It is a creature that can take on many forms, often preferring to use the faces of those it has seen in memories and dreams or using a ‘featureless’ form. This featureless form is inky shadow, tall, spindly and towering, yet holds no eyes or distinguishing body features. It does however hold rows upon rows of teeth so it is a starling sight when it opens its formless mouth. Their true form however is rarely seen and can only be seen within the hollow scape of an empty dream. When a mind is not dreaming, but is lucid only then can it be perceived, a creature that is both parasitic, demonic and aetherial looking.

References and Influences:
Enchanter evidence can be found in game via the goldsmith quests, specifically in the quest Serendipity Now which speaks about how malachite is believed to ward off evil and holds some magical/aetherical properties.
Aether weaver lore is custom lore that is based on the root applications of red mage, black mage, reaper abilities and lore. This custom lore has been created to not only make the character the character, but provide lore into the characters origins and village. With endwalker discussing different applications of magic, aether, akasa and possible applications for how magic and aether can be unique to places outside of eorzea, variation and unique abilities are possible.

Druidism, Halone, & the Clan
Tumblr media
The clan itself are heavy practitioners of dark Druidism, and while they do praise Halone above all deities, they also believe in the All Father (a representation of Odin), and the existence of ancestors.
There is evidence everywhere in the clan lands of sacrifices, dark magic totems, and a general… heaviness in the air. Deer skulls hang with effigies hanging off them and frosted moss swaying in the wind. Blood splatters the ground at an altar, runic ritualistic circles carved into trees, candles lit and ever glowing despite the weather. Monoliths circle sacred stones with runes carved into the surfaces, a magic thrumming, and sense of something other.
Skalds sing songs in another language, haunting and yet familiar. Antlers crown their head, skins of animals sacrificed hang over their shoulders. Blood slicks their tattooed skin and trails their paths.
The people of the clans swath their doors with lambs’ blood to guard off the fae folk and avoid certain trees and bushes, going so far as to build fences around them and make sure no one destroys them in fear of retaliation. They honor the thinned veil of the spirit world on the solstices, and celebrate All Saints’ Wake with great reverence.
While the druids handle the… folk life of the clans, they have a group of ordained priests kept in their company with a stave church built at the summit of one of the many peaks of the Spine. A cleric handles the more devout of the group with healing needs, while those who follow the Druidic path will see the druids for healing.

Hive Fleet: Echeneis
Concept: A custom hive fleet that "remoras” to larger hive fleet. First ID’ed as attached to Hive Fleet Leviathan, this theoretical fleet is being witnessed in increasing frequency across the galaxy.
Write-Up: The grouping of Tyranids tentatively named Echeneis is an anomaly in the traditional Hive structure of the species. What at first was assumed to be simply a new aspect of the larger fleets, this report strives to prove that Echeneis is in fact a unique fleet seeded among the larger hive in a state of mutualism and is part of a larger scheme by the Tyranid Hive Mind.
The evidence of this supposed fleet is hidden within a number of seemingly isolated incidents across the galaxy all bearing the same physical demarcations of the proposed Echeneis fleet: blacked forelimbs either of necrotized flesh or some new carbonized structure.
For ease of organization, the unique coloration of the bioforms will be labeled as Markings categories. The Seeding of the Fleet within other Hive Fleets will be labeled as Remora categories.
Leviathan Report (Remora. Markings.):
The start of my investigation in the Echeneis, I began with two seemingly separate reports from the Leviathan invasion of Oghrim. The first report is of the Tyranid forces collecting living genestealers and other sentient organisms during the invasion; the reasons for this are not currently known. The second observation is of a series of Tyranids of distinct patterning. While base coloration of the entity is the same for a bioform of Hive Fleet Leviathan (Purple Carapse, White Skin), the extremities of the limbs were blackened and appeared either charred or chitinous depending on the reports. These demarcations adorned uniquely violent bioforms which some psykers reportedly experience non-synaptic based, psychic resonance from.
Xenos Report (Markings):
However, the reports of strange blackened demarcations lead to me a series of Rogue Traders and Void Farer reports on strange abominations encountered across scattered planets of the far edge of the galaxy. These entities appeared to be ghoulish humanoids cannibalizing the local population. They fought with bioweapons akin to those found in Tyranids forces, but instead of only utilizing living matter the weapons utilized were formed through the remains of the species victims or created as a result of a biological autophagic adaptation. Examples of the weaponry included skin webnets, bone spears, and teeth projectiles. No samples of the species were collected as those autophagic properties lead to rapid decay upon death even in the face of advanced preservation technology. While some of these reports might be exaggerations of the Genestealer species of Tyranid, other species in the reports do not resemble any known Genestealer species. Instead of the cult-like behavior of traditional Genestealers, this Xenos species was viewed as a virus or madness spreading amongst the lifeforms of the planet with little organization outside of roving bands actively pursuing organic life to consume.
--- Echeneis connections ---
However, these various Xenos races bore the distinct blackened forelimb markings. These markings I theorize as the same unique demarcations found on Echeneis bioforms. Initially this observation was dismissed as the potential link between reports could be dismissed as different elemental exposures affecting the physical appearances of different species. For example, the cannibalistic xenos’ markings were explained away as a result of exposure to the elements resulting in frostbite or necrotized flesh not specialized demarcations. While the Genestealer reports viewed the marking as part of the distinctive chitinous growths native to the species. However, if we hold that these are all strains formed from the newly theorized Hive Fleet Echeneis, or perhaps from a progenitor fleet, it paints a dangerous picture. Echeneis, in addition to its ability to spawn genestealers, might have access to a unique strand of the bioform which causes these cannibalistic xenos species reported.
After observing the Xenos reports, I would theorize that the recently revealed Hive Fleet Moreau might in fact be an example of an isolated Echeneis fleet. As with all other reports related to the theorized Echeneis hive fleet there are potential connections, but no certainties. The only notable tie to Echeneis being blackened necrotized limbs adorning violent entities who precursor to the Hive Fleets invasion.
Hive Fleet Moreau (Markings.)
Hive Fleet Moreau has recently been reported entering Tau space through the site of the previous conflict with Hive Fleet Gorgon, the “Zone of Silence.” While the initial reports cited the worlds that would fall as having been infected with Chaos corruption, the truth of the invasion was revealed when Moreau arrived to convert the planet's biomass before moving on.
In the wake of the attack survivors have constructed a not-insignificant list of “symptoms” experienced by the wider populace before the Hive Fleet’s arrival. These “symptoms” bear an outward appearance of traditional Chaos corruption but they reportedly lacked the Warp related psychic signature. In truth it is hard to ascertain the trust of this due to the Tau’s lack of psykerous abilities.
This infection, now assumed to be spread through an initial seeding of Tyranid spores, moves through the food web of the world forcing infected to be eaten by another species thus spreading the infection. However, as the infection spreads and or meets resistance, its effects adapt, the initial drive to be consumed changing into different manifestations. Some examples include: infected mindlessly attacking others to spread the infection, more intelligent infected seeding the infection strategically across the planet, and other infected driven to gather and or infect large resource supplies. The resulting infection runs rampant across the planets adapting faster than medical or military personnel can handle. By the time the resulting pandemic had undermined the whole of planetary security and infrastructure, Hive Moreau arrived and quickly consumed the planets with only a small scale evasion force.
---Echeneis Conjecture----
At first this Hive Fleet bears only a passing resemblance to those found in Xenos reports of old. But the connections are in the details. As the infection spreads the strains will develop autophagic adaptations to spread their infection. More violence strains might initially start with coating a weapon with infected blood or projectile vomiting to infect larger groups, some reports speak of advanced weapons “development” by the infected. Example include hands turning into “nail guns'' which fire blood keratin and bone projectiles from infected hands leaving structureless flesh appendages when the individual runs out of “ammunition;” or the development of “phlegm bomb” that gestages in the infected capable of being thrown at targets, if regurgitated by the infected, or renders the infected a living bomb should they be killed. The advanced stages of infection result in the forelimbs of the infected necrotizing and rotting away leaving the distinct markings that this report uses to designate Hive Fleet Echeneis. Finally, in a tie to the original observation of Echeneis’s attachment to Leviathan, survivors of the Moreau invasion swear that the Tyranid invasion did not consume the infected, but instead collected living infected who didn’t battle alongside the Tyranids bringing them directly to one of the orbiting hive ships.
Hive Fleet Gorgon Postulation (Remora):
Due to the timing of its appearance at the battle of Oghrim and the arrival of Hive Fleet Moreau, Hive Fleet Echeneis might draw lineage to Hive Fleet Gorgon. However, instead of a traditional splinter fleet, the unique “remora fleet” nature of the hive could be derived as a result of the Hive Mind's interaction with the Tau Empire. Gorgan’s failure due to its overspecialization and inability to adapt quickly to threads as needed, might have served as a learning experience for the Hive Mind. As a result Echeneis’ various adaptations may well be experimentations to integrate the knowledge gleaned from Gorgon’s failed campaign against the Tau in smaller “trial” ships.
If this conjecture is true, Echeneis can be viewed as a prototyping fleet for a more controlled evolutionary and testing process. Instead of adapting the whole fleet, Echeneis provides the ability to prototype before their inclusion into the greater host hive. This unique coordination means Echeneis can serve multiple purposes at any point in a Tyranid campaign. Should Echeneis’ adaptations prove ineffective, its biomass can be liquefied and drained by the Host Hive, serving as a type of mobile refueling station. Should the adaptations prove effective, they will be integrated into the host fleet and testing of a new prototype variant will begin again. While an isolated Fleet of Echeneis would manifest akin to those currently experienced by Hive Fleet Moreau.
Conclusion:
The theorized Hive Fleet Echeneis might be a new evolutionary development by the Tyranids as a result of their experience with the Tau empire. This new Hive Fleet can seed itself among larger fleets acting as a testing lab for the host fleet and in this mutualism provide for the hivemind a more focused purpose of keeping its host fleet safe of “parasitic,” dead-end evolutions strains that might hinder their mission. This adaptation means that should the host fleet be destroyed or disabled there are multi-fold defenses to the larger Tyranid force: Assuming a Norn-Queen is active within Echeneis, the defeat of the Host fleet’s queen now has a redundant backup to keep forces cohesive or should, should the Hive Mind allow the fleet to splinter, the Echeneis purpose of testing and adapting creates a better chance of survival for the splinter fleet. Finally, under uncertain circumstances, Echeneis can become its own “Host Fleet” utilizing its adaptive nature to continue a more subtle Tyranid presence in the region.
The end goal of these “Solo Fleets” of Echeneis, like much of this proposed fleet's purpose, is uncertain. These standalone Echeneis fleet might reconnect with a Host Fleet and either resume its position as a “remora” to the host or be consumed to jumpstart the stalled or more powerful hive fleet. Or Echeneis might continue to grow, becoming a new dominant strain into itself of the Tyranid invasion forces. There is just too little information available to assume anything currently.
What is certain is the distinguishing marks of the Echeneis hive fleet: their blackened forelimbs. While initially these markings might be viewed as a means to allow for the more overt Tyranid colorings to be present, to still showcase the Echeneis “remora” branch, this adaptation takes on a sinister nature when Echeneis is disconnected from a “Host Fleet.” In those situations Echeneis still marks their bioforms with their distinct patterning, but due to its semi-naturalistic appearance, these markings become a semi-natural camouflage to those unaware of the Hive Fleet. Due to the lack of the traditional striking colors patterns of other Tyranid Fleets, Echeneis can infiltrate planets taking root deep into the very fabric of the planetary system unnoticed until the time in which the Hive ships come to feed.
Given these unique invasion tactics, an isolated “Solo Fleet” of Echeneis might be the most dangerous evolutionary path to the galaxy. The steps necessary to combat the initial invasion stages of Echeneis are radically different from that of other Tyranid fleets. This splintering of tactics by the hivemind has the potential to dilute Tyranid defense knowledge across the galaxy. In essence Echeneis potential hyper-specialization shows the power of the Tyranid hive mind to take the initial weakness of its proposed Gorgan parent fleet and adapt it into a weapon for conquest.
Adaptations: Multiple
“Genestealer Heaven” - When attached to a Host Fleet, during the reclamation of biomass, if a genestealer cult is present on the planet, Echeneis will take these entities into its vessels for processing. Should they be chosen, these individuals will be vivisected and re-engineered into more traditional Tyranid bioforms. From the Genestealer perspective, this act provides them an angelic body to fight for their God. Depending on the individual, the Hive Mind will allow the continued feelings of emotions and other useful human traits within the newly “uplifted” bioform so it might better serve the swarm. In addition, some of these entities will be released from the Hive to continue the subspecies subversive missions, potentially with the released individuals being gifted the ability to give the “Genestealer Kiss” without the need for a Patriarch entity.
“Reanimation Parasites,” instead of traditional Genestealer Cultist, Echeneis has created strains of parasitic bioforms evolved from the cortex leeches. These bioforms are seeded across a desired planet to infect the inhabitants. Once infected, the parasites create a chaos-esque change in the host leading to various effects including “reanimation” of fresh corpses, bodily mutations into bioweapons, and changes in mental facilities to increase the spread of the infection. Much like how they collect Genestealer when attached to a Host Fleet, those infected with the Parasites are collected during the invasion for the potential of uplifting into more traditional bioforms.
Speciality: Genestealers. Cortex Leeches. Spore Mines.
Nicknames: Various
Reanimation Parasites: “Khorne’s Flies” “Slaanesh’s Crabs” “Nurgle’s Bees” “Tzeentch's Gnats” “Chaos Tyranids”
Genestealer Uplifts and Biomorph Prototypes: “The Cringe ‘Nids”
Example Reanimation Parasite Unit:
Flesh Eater Courts Ghoul converted into the termagant. Including hormagants, barbagants, and neurogaunts)

Hey everyone!
Now that we’re gathering up for the operation, I’d like to re-open my services for a limited number of custom jobs! If you’ve got a mech and you’d like that mech to change, I can see what I can do!
Given the facilities on board a jump ship and the actual timeline of our transit, I can handle up to a Class D refit.
This means:
If I’m swapping in a weapon it’s better that it goes in the same spot I pull one out—takes me twice as long if I have to repatch the armor around it
I can swap heat sinks! At least the type…I do hope you have them on you, though, all I brought was a couple of spare parts for myself
I can’t rebuild your chassis from scratch. This means no swapping to Endo-steel, no TSM if you didn’t pack it, and (unfortunately!) no CASE.
Look, I can swap your armor type but that’s a full armor strip and rebuild and that’s a lot of work and most importantly a lot of man-hours. I mean I can try but I don’t guarantee anything!
This will all go faster and I might be able to work multiple jobs at once if anyone has support staff they’re willing to direct to me.
Here’s hoping we all get to drink to this when it’s done! And remember to bring CASE

Marriage & Children
Tumblr media
Content Warning: Child death, child fighting
The Caomhe clan itself is more a federation than it is one whole family. With smaller families paying liege to the Caomhanach family, most alliances and ties are made between marriages and dowries. The elders themselves prefer partners for their own to be of a similar upbringing or from one of the other families that they are in alliance with. They will put up dowries for their women if they feel it is necessary to keep bloodlines continuing on, and will occasionally venture into the capital to see if they can score a marriage with nobility to get access to more merchant networks.
Typically, for the man marrying a clansman’s daughter, in order to receive the blessing he must fight the father in a spar. The clan itself does not want for weak bonds or ill-willed fighters, especially the families that traditionally produce dragoons for Ishgard. The man must win the spar in order to prove that he is worthy of protecting the daughter and providing strong warrior heritage to children later down the line. For the woman marrying a clansman, to fight is not expected, but to provide a service like being able to tan hides or craft textiles or brew alchemical concoctions is highly favorable. Being able to adapt to druidism and learning green magic and druidic healing is considered the gift to the family that the new wife brings.
Raising a child in the clan is different depending on the family. For the Caomhanach family, the purpose of the child is to be the perfect dragoon. While the child may know a mother’s love, and generally live a good life in the mountains, eventually they are pitted against their friends and siblings in a fighting ring after being sufficiently trained. The child that is the last surviving in this ring of death receives the best possible training they could receive in order to be a dragoon, and is then sent to the temple knights for evaluation and squireship. These children are then called drengr, and will know no other name until they are knighted as a dragoon.
While it is generally expected to be a male child, female children that become drengr are believed to be a named Valkyrie reincarnated in their lifecycle. They are believed to be blessed by Halone herself to provide such a fine female warrior, and their identity will become molded by the skalds and druids to believe that they have a higher calling to respond to, and that this is their purpose in life.
