i mightve sent smth like this already. can't remember tbh. but like. cough syrup is prolly the first fic i've read with a psychotic character who isn't just. written weirdly? like. idk how to explain it. cs!ranboo just seems. so human?? which was and still is really comforting. bc i read cough syrup a bit after i kinda. started coming to terms with the fact that i'm prolly. psychotic to some extent. and like. i'm just some lanky dude who shops off the hot topic clearance rack. and cs!ranboo's like that too. and. idk. where i was going with this. but yeah. thank u for cough syrup it makes me feel human
it was around chapter 8 or 9, i think, when i had talked to my therapist about some issues i was having and she told me it could have been stress induced illusions. that later snow-balled rapidly into depression-linked psychosis, and then into just psychosis, since y'know, i started writing cough syrup in the tail-end of my psychotic break early 2021. took me a lot longer to realize that's what that had been, though.
and y'know i had intended to make cs!ranboo struggle with psychosis at some capacity, since that just fit c!ranboo's character, but it became a lot more personal to me at that point. cs!ranboo was the only place i felt i could talk about these delusions and all this shit i was dealing with, and in all the times i was sobbing because i had lost so much to this perceived failure of my mind, i thought that maybe i could write this character who has the same issues as me, getting a chance to be happy. to find people that love him, who will stay by him, who he could find some kind of stabilizing and lasting peace with.
in a lot of ways, though i bitch now about having to write his chapters, cs!ranboo was my way of coping with a lot of things i was going through. and you know i was actually scared of posting it at a certain point, because it feels so fucking vulnerable. you don't really see a lot of psychotic characters in media that aren't stereotyped, oftentimes written by non psychotic people following a checklist and inevitably messing up somewhere because they're being careless and then find themselves creating this caricature. i don't ever claim that my writing is perfect or good or without flaws, but at the very least my portrayals are genuine in some sense, that i'm using experience and research and both combined to guide it.
i think one of the best things to ever come out of cough syrup is people finding comfort in the characters. so many people found solidarity with cs!tubbo from the beginning, and that grew into projecting things onto him that i'm happy to accept because hell they're not just my characters, they're characters i'm sharing with you all. but what gets me is how many people find comfort in cs!ranboo, like you, because i was so worried about casting that light on everything and am so glad now that i did it.
it's incredibly fucking important to me that the characters i write feel like people. cs!tubbo isn't just an addict, he's a teen who likes checking on NASA's annual halloween-themed posters and who only gets extremely competitive when playing Wii sports games and creates all these associations in his head and fucking sucks at making paper cranes but does them anyway as a love language. cs!tommy isn't just an abuse victim, he's a teen who's favorite color is red and half his clothes are like that and he knows all the cool parks and shops in town and he loves walking around and finding more places and he likes superheroes and animal crossing.
and cs!ranboo isn't just his psychosis, he's a teen that likes baking but hates having to bake cupcakes and will complain about that, and he likes taking photos of other people and hanging onto them for a while, and he likes the idea of falling in love but is a little clumsy with it, and he has a questionable fashion sense but it makes him feel comfortable, and he likes english class but hates chemistry
and all i hope to do is show that (1) these characters' lives are affected by their struggles, but it's not all they are as people (2) you are deserving of love and WILL be loved no matter what you struggle through (3) if you connect to any of the cast, hi i love you you're going to make it you're going to be happy.
sorry for the long tangent. i just - this ask made me feel really happy. because hearing this, that people can find some connection with cough syrup? it's all i've ever wanted. if i hear that then i have a reason to keep writing it, i have a reason to fight through annoying ass chapters and the whole lot of it.

Welcome to the Project Bluebird AU ask blog thing. It’s pretty much a QSMP AU based on the Project Bluebird Theory but with some additions (Like added characters). Some of the characters in this AU have all been aged down to kids.
This will most definitely not become cannon and I will be very shocked if it does. This AU heavily relies on headcanons (Like Jaiden and some other characters having wings, etc).
I originally wanted to make this blog for a comic series and then when it finished it would become an ask blog but I decided to make it an ask blog that might have some comic pages mixed into it instead.
CHARACTERS
This is pretty much the list of characters you can ask and some info about them in the AU. The info parts may be updated when I thing of more information for the characters.
Jaiden
She has blue wings.

Baghera
She has yellow wings
Signature: -BG
Quackity
He has yellow wings.
Signature: -Q
ElQuacity
In this AU he’s just called El. The Quackity part of his name doesn’t exist. Looks exactly like Quackity
Ph1lza/Phil
Referred to as Phil by the characters. He has black crow wings. The oldest

Roier
Half-spider thing
Signature: -R
Cellbit
Half-cat thing (idk why people headcanon this but I like it and I want Roier to have a friend besides Quackity Jaiden). Doesn’t like the Serious Cucurucho that much.

Foolish
Half-shark thing. Has to live in the water for the time being since the federation hasn’t found a way for him to breath on land right now. There are a lot of glass walls with water inside so Foolish is still able to go to other places in the facility.

Bad/BadBoy(BadBoyHalo)
Some characters call him Bad while others call him BadBoy. He has three modes he can use. Ghost mode, Shadow mode, and Smoke mode. He also has a demon appearance with small wings.

Nobody knows if he’s half turtle or half cucumber.

Charlie/Slime
Weird slime thing mixed with a demon. Some people call him Slime while others change the name they call him.

Ironmouse
A demon. She prefers to be called Mouse. Has small demon wings

Niki
Half-cat thing like Cellbit.

Tubbo
Half-bee.

Tina
Half-cat half-demon thing.

Cucurucho
One of the two Cucuruchos. He usually takes care of Jaiden, Foolish, and Cellbit. This Cucurucho favors Cellbit over the other two (Jaiden as a close second). Has a blue ribbon he wears on his wrist given by Jaiden to separate him from the other Cucurucho. This one is more serious than the other one. Likes bubbles.
Osito Bimbo
One of the other Cucuruchos. He seems a lot more bubbly than the other Cucurucho. Everyone (besides fed people) call this one “Osito Bimbo” to separate him from the other Cucurucho. Wears a purple ribbon on his wrist also given by Jaiden to separate him from the other Cucurucho. Likes bubbles. He doesn’t have a favorite and likes everyone (including the people he doesn’t take care of) equally.

Something interesting that I’m noticing more with purgatory 2 is the symbolism and parallels.
In Catholic theology, purgatory is a space where the souls of those that are not damned (will not go to hell) go to be cleaned of venial sins (smaller less egregious sins) in order to enter heaven. They are sinners but are promised to not suffer the fires of hell and will enter heaven after their time of scarification is up. CS Lewis described it as a bath before going to a party to clean yourself up and look nice.
Something interesting is that the souls in purgatory (the church suffering) are able to pray for those on earth (church militant) but those on earth are the only ones that can help the souls in purgatory. It’s up to us to offer prayers and sacrifices to help those in purgatory reach heaven as they can no longer help themselves.
In purgatory 2, it’s interesting that tubbo was offered a reward for coming back and playing again (heaven is the great reward at the end of purgatory). It’s also interesting that there are islanders that aren’t brought back to purgatory and some that are (those on the island could help those in purgatory such as bagi coming back to help soulfire but those I purgatory can’t get back to the island).
I just think it’s really interesting how many parallels there are to the actual theology of purgatory this time and I’ll be interested to see where it goes

the next chapter is going to be cool for reasons i can’t really show in like snippets because i don’t want to spoil but. it’s going to be cathartic and good i just need to pull it off well. i already really like where it’s going at the start it’s just this ONE transition bit that’s throwing everything off. it has some funny moments it has some downright heartbreaking moments and it has some healing moments. pinnacle CS i think. i’m excited.

Silleen oon kyllä niin nauttinut QSMP:stä, koska siellä on just ne streamaajat, joita oon eniten katsonut aikaisemminkin järkyn paljon. Katsoin DSMP:stä vain niitä "hiljaisia" lopun aikoja ja silloinkin vain fooliksen basen rakennus grindausta. Mun vuoden statit Twitchissä oli silloin jotain 3000+ tuntia per vuosi.
Tubbo tais silloinkin olla se numero 2, mutta seuraavana vuonna se sitten nousi ykköseksi, kun alkoi streamaamaan enemmän ja Foolish alkoi Valorant mainiksi. Itselläni ei tippaakaan kiinnosta nää hitaat ampumapelit, kuten CS ja Valo. Pelaan itse TF2 niin aiemmin mainitut vain unettaa.
Badboyhalo on tosiaan se ehdoton ykkönen QSMP:ssä mulle, mutta mun on kyll pakko tunnustaa, että en lähes koskaan katsonut sitä DSMP:n aikaan, koska oli hiton epämukavaa seurata sen interaktioita niiden muiden ihmisten kanssa, jotka tuntui niin väheksyviltä sitä kohtaan. Tosin BBH ja Foolish teki ihan parasta komiikkaa yhdessä jo silloinkin. Oikeastaan ainut story arc, jonka näin alusta loppuun, ehkä ihan yhtä kahta streamia lukuun ottamatta, oli se pirun punainen muna. Silloin tosin BBH streamas tosi vähän, minkä takia on ollut hienoa nähdä kuinka QSMP-munat on saaneet Badin niin aktiivisesti tekemään kontsaa, että se on noussut mun eniten katsotuimmaksi. Tosin on mun Twitch-katsominen vähentynyt viime vuonna aika paljon. Tais olla statseissä enää se 2,3k tuntia, kun on niin paljon rahantakomishommia ollut.
Mut joo, pääpointti QSMP kyl ihan liikaa palvelee mun stream-mieltymyksiä. Nyt vielä kun saisi jojosoloksen tuonne niin voisin onnellisesti katsoa ainoastaan QSMP:tä (No okei, pitää sitä Hermicraftia joskus kans, as a treat). Mut miettikää mitä jojosolos sais aikaan Purgatoryssä!
