I noticed that that there were some similarities between Extreme Aggressor which was the series premiere of Criminal Minds and 200 which was the 200th episode of Criminal Minds as both episodes immediately picked up on the action with having the name of the cast members after the show’s name popped ip but no opening credits. Another difference is that both episodes had two unsubs while in 200 there were flashbacks to go along with the main storyline and our favorite team of profilers being involved. Paramount+ conferma la serie revival di 'Criminal Minds’, che vedrà tornare membri chiave del cast

Dopo più di un anno di negoziazioni a intermittenza, giovedì Paramount+ ha confermato di aver ordinato la serie revival di Criminal Minds, con sei membri del cast amati dai fan pronti a tornare: Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler e Paget Brewster. Come precedentemente riportato, tornerà anche il produttore esecutivo e showrunner Erica Messer, che ha firmato il suo contratto appena un paio di mesi fa. I contratti degli attori sono stati subordinati alla firma della Messer, che si è accordata con ABC Signature, con cui è sotto contratto generale.

Come riferito in esclusiva da Deadline, a febbraio, gli studi della ABC Signature e della CBS hanno raggiunto un accordo con Paramount+ per una nuova stagione di 10 episodi di Criminal Minds. Gli ultimi mesi sono stati utilizzati per portare ufficialmente a bordo Messer e il cast, spingendo per un semaforo verde ufficiale, che vedrà la produzione iniziare il 21 agosto a Los Angeles. Mantegna ha stuzzicato l'attenzione con una foto su Twitter che lo raffigurava su un set a "fare una piccola ispezione per un prossimo progetto", accompagnata dall'hashtag #criminalminds.

Nella serie revival, la squadra d'élite dell'FBI composta da profiler si troverà ad affrontare la più grande minaccia vista finora: un S.I. che ha usato la pandemia per costruire una rete di altri serial killer. Adesso, mentre il mondo si apre di nuovo, la rete diventa operativa, e la squadra deve dare loro la caccia, un omicidio alla volta.

Mantegna, Vangsness, Rodriguez, Cook, Tyler e Brewster rappresentano la maggior parte del cast di Criminal Minds nella sua quindicesima e ultima stagione. Come riportato da Deadline a febbraio, mancano nella lista Matthew Gray Gubler, membro originale del cast che ha però sottolineato di essere pronto ad andare avanti dopo aver interpretato Spencer Reid per 15 anni, e Daniel Henney, che attualmente compare nella serie di Prime Video La ruota del tempo, che viene girata a Praga. Ogni possibile partecipazione di Henney come guest star in Criminal Minds dipenderà dai suoi impegni con questa serie.

Deadline ha precedentemente informato che gli accordi degli attori per Criminal Minds prevedono un impegno per più anni e non sono del tutto esclusivi, quindi i membri del cast potranno avere ruoli ricorrenti in altre serie e addirittura parti da regular in miniserie, se la loro produzione non causa interferenze con Criminal Minds.

Il revival di Criminal Minds, il cui semaforo verde ufficiale è stato comunicato per primo da TVLine, era stato annunciato in pompa magna alle presentazioni della piattaforma di streaming nel febbraio del 2021. Il 31 luglio dello stesso anno, Brewster aveva detto ai fan su Twitter che credeva che il progetto si fosse fermato. Sei mesi dopo, il primo febbraio del 2022, Nicole Clemens, presidente di Paramount+, ha detto ai giornalisti che Criminal Minds era "vivo e vegeto".

“Per quindici stagioni, Criminal Minds è stato in prima linea tra le serie drammatiche all'avanguardia perché esplorava la psicologia dietro i crimini – in maniera elettrizzante,” ha detto Clemens in una dichiarazione di giovedì. “La serie non ha mai smesso di evolversi per tutta la sua durata, e siamo più che esaltati all'idea di riportarla in vita in una nuova era di nuove storie per una nuova generazione di spettatori della piattaforma Paramount+. La serie originale, creata da Jeff Davis, segue un gruppo di profiler che lavorano per l'FBI come membri dell'Unità Analisi Comportamentale. Questi usano l'analisi comportamentale e il profiling per indagare sui crimini e trovare chi li compie. Il gruppo è guidato dall'Agente Anziano David Rossi (Mantegna) e comprende gli Agenti JJ Jareau (Cook), Tara Lewis (Tyler) e Luke Alvez (Rodriguez), così come il Tecnico Analista Penelope Garcia (Vangsness) e il Capo dell'Unità Emily Prentiss (Brewster).

Il classico procedural verrà serializzato per il consumo sulle piattaforme di streaming, con la squadra che tornerà per indagare su un singolo caso nel corso di dieci episodi nella nuova stagione per Paramount+.

Messer servirà da showrunner, produttore esecutivo e sceneggiatore. Breen Frazier e Chris Barbour saranno sceneggiatori e produttori esecutivi, Glenn Kershaw dirigerà e farà da produttore esecutivo, e Mark Gordon sarà anche lui uno dei produttori esecutivi.

Criminal Minds è tra i titoli globali più premiati di Paramount nell'era dello streaming. È stato in cima alle classifiche di Netflix da prima che la piattaforma iniziasse a dare informazioni sulle visualizzazioni. Negli Stati Uniti Paramount+ ha tutte le quindici stagioni, mentre Netflix ha solo le prime dodici. Hanno raggiunto un totale di 33.9 miliardi di minuti di visualizzazione sulla piattaforma globale, rendendolo il titolo più visto su Netflix nel 2021. Criminal Minds è stata anche la terza serie più vista nel 2020, dopo The Office e Grey’s Anatomy, con 590 milioni di ore di visualizzazione.

Dear anon who asked if I could turn this PB + TG post into an Aaron and Emily... I'm a little confused about what that meant, so here's a bunch of PB photos taken by TG instead.

P.S. I have this headcanon that Aaron likes to randomly take photos of the team.

He likes to look at it when he's having a bad day. Seeing their faces, remembering the story behind each photo – it calms him.

When they're out on a case or if he's going to miss Jack's bedtime, he sends some to Jess who shows it to Jack and when he calls to say goodnight, they talk about it for a while.

Sometimes he and Jack would even make an afternoon of it. Idly scrolling through his camera roll, Jack eagerly asking the story behind each photo. Of course, Emily or Emmy (according to Jack) is in a lot of it. After all, she's Aaron's favorite subject. That, and the Hotchner boys just love her. :)

So, I guess think of this post as a peek inside Aaron's camera roll? And I'm sorry I know this is super late but I hope it still counts. Haha!
