wonwoo had never felt such fear in his life. i mean, how else was he supposed to react to such an unpredictable situation?

last he had spoken to you had been only three hours ago. on the phone. he had bid you goodbye for the night, letting you know he was about to go on stage and that he'd call you the next morning due to your time differences. he knew you'd be going home from work and head straight to sleep, so he didnt want you to feel like you had to wait up for him as he finished his never-ending setlist.

the next thing he knew, he was walking into the backstage area once more, exhausted but ready to head back to the hotel. except his plans had been interrupted by his manager, who pulled him aside to give him the grim news.

you had gotten on an accident on your way home. there were no more details at the moment. something about your best friend calling wonwoo from the hospital, but his manager had picked up, not understanding much from your friend's frantic rambles. wonwoo's heart immediately dropped at the implication. an accident could mean anything. it had happened on your way home, so that couldve implied a car accident .. wonwoo couldnt breathe anymore. the more he thought, the more his heart raced. his breath became heavy at the bare thought of you scared and alone while at home, not having your husband by your side.

he had been having fun on stage with his best friends while you had gotten hurt. there was no way for him to forgive himself for not being with you right now. he called your phone over and over as he ran to his assigned car, not even caring to change out of his concert ensemble. in the meantime he had his manager book him a flight to you immediately, not giving a second thought to any repercussions to his absence.

it took him a while to receive a response from you, or well, your best friend. she had called from your phone, letting him in on more details of your accident. wonwoo couldnt help but let out a sigh of relief at the news. you were okay. you were alive. you had swerved too harshly in order to avoid a deer that had gotten in your way, which caused the car to crash against a tree. the hood of the car was destroyed beyond reparation, but you had been left injured, but almost unscathed past a few broken bones. it was a broken arm, a broken collarbone, and a few scratches (re: a ton), but it was manageable. he would still dote to you until you healed, but he was just extremely content that you were okay.

regardless of your state, wonwoo still insisted on flying out to you. according to your best friend, you were still passed out. fortunately for wonwoo, his flight would take him to you within five hours, meaning you'd likely be awake by the time he got to you. his heart couldnt help but continue to race for you. the scare was still fresh in his mind, and the thought that he wouldve been away from you had it been something worse made him want to repent.

somehow he managed to fall asleep during the flight, only to be awoken by his manager the moment the plane landed. thankfully, it had been an unplanned flight, which meant wonwoo had the luxury of no one awaiting him at the airport. he had covered himself up – a bucket hat and a face mask sufficed to get him to where he needed to be with no recognition. he made the trip as quick as possible, feeling an instinctual need to be by your side.

after some very inconvenient paperwork, he made it to your room, standing outside as he pondered as to why he was scared to go in. you were fine. and probably even awake by now. but he couldnt help but think: it had taken him a total of seven hours to get to you. if anything ever happened to you, his idol schedule would always get in the way. your husband was not truly a husband. he was always away, always prioritizing his work and his fans, unable to tend to you in such moments. he always knew you'd be better off with someone who partook a more conventional career, but moments like this truly proved his theory.

even now, he felt like a terrible partner. he was pitying himself instead of checking on you. the realization made him shake his head at his own thoughts, forcing them away as he walked in. any thinking prior to that moment had been useless, as his heart became swollen with adoration the moment he saw you look up at the door, smiling as soon as your eyes landed on him. you didnt pay mind to your injuries, sitting up and extending your healthy arm towards him to draw him in.

he couldnt help but fall into your arms, doing his best to avoid any broken bones as he held you against him. he was aware that some of his body weight was above you, but you wouldnt let him pull away to readjust. you wanted him in your arms as much as he did you.

damn any insecurities wonwoo had. he'd be selfish and keep you to himself. if he had to exhaust himself through hours of travel to get to you, he would. or even better, he'd take you with him from now on. be damned anything that tried to get in the way of him and his love.

"my love ..."

"dont worry, nonu. im fine! it was just a freak accident. you didnt have to come, but ... fuck, im so happy you're here," you rambled as soon as you pulled away, still keeping him sitting on the bed as you leaned as close to him as possible.

"ill always come, you know that," he paused, "you scared the fuck out of me, i ... that call. ive never been more terrified. im sorry i wasnt here, im sorry i-"

"wonwoo, no! i understand. i cant believe you flew all the way to see me even if its just a few broken bones. im sorry i scared you."

his hand made its way to your cheek, caressing it gently as he smiled sweetly at you, "dont apologize. ill take a million scares if it means you're okay. i ... is it okay if i stay? i want to take care of you. actually, no, i dont care if its too much, i- i need to be by your side. can i?"

"yes. you dont have to ask, i always want you here."

"good. ill take you home with me as soon as you're discharged. never letting you out of my sight again."

"what about tour, you-"

"shh. ill take care of it. you're my priority. ill take care of you, okay? i love you."

"i love you more, nonu."

he let yet another sigh of relief at those five words, knowing that as soon as he heard those words, he'd be okay. you'd both be okay.

i know this conversation was already had yesterday but thinking about it, i just dont know what else dteam couldve possibly done in that situation. george apologizes to caiti but floats the idea that her friends influenced her(hes probably right) and twitter freaks out, dream talks about non-verbal consent, a real thing that very much applied here, and twitter freaks out. anyone who pointed out inconsistencies was called a victim blamer and ccs themselves did this. if george tried to point out that caitis story didnt line up in certain parts he wouldve been fucking mauled by twitter. like yeah maybe if he did that it wouldve been worse at first but gotten better eventually but idk i feel like unless someone else spoke up in defense of him ccs and twitter alike wouldve hounded him until he quit.

and i do hate ccs who succumb to twitter pressure but this was a really tough situation and i dont know how they couldve gotten out in a better position than they are now. i feel like they did the best they could even if it wasnt perfect and some parts did make the situation a little worse. george apologizing for what he actually did while reaffirming that he hadnt done it maliciously was the right move imo. also it just shows that hes a kind person at heart because he did understand that even if caiti wasnt truthful she was hurt by him regardless of his intentions or others influence.

idk anyways i hate every single cc who jumped in to attack george for clout or to makes themselves seem like a good person and they made the situation a million times worse. if none of them had opened their mouths i really think things couldve gone differently.

never love an anchor really works for champ umbreon because the whole song talks about a mother that was unable to take care of her own child, in the same way umbreon didnt really want kids + didnt trust herself with kids hence the reason she gave ev to eon when she was about to hatch.. and the song talks more about the mother knowing that the child will only suffer with her regardless of how much she loved it and how she has her own problems that she couldn't tell the child without sharing the reasons she had for giving them up and just a plenty of more stuff including the mother viewing herself as an anchor because of her own sorrows and issues and still dreaming and thinking about the kid and what they are like.. ough. ik that you said that you didnt really any ideas as to how ev and champ umbreon's relationship couldve been like but it's still a thing i think about constantly.

yeas... and since ive started writing a little bit more of the outline ive actually got a little better an idea of how ev feels about this stuff too... and it makes it even worse,,

honestly idrc how much the series left out and what it changed as much i thought it would. i dont love some things but nevertheless i loved everything. smelly gabe, eh i have a feeling we’re gonna see his true side later. claiming scene, couldve been more suspenseful, but it also couldve gone worse! the changing of chb impressions was also amazing, some tiny details i do wish they included. otherwise, i love regardless of a few mistakes, PLOT wise.

What do you think was Myrah’s thought process in fools rush in when Aemond suggested that they try being in a relationship together due to her being pregnant? I mean I’m sure she must’ve thought about the risks that came along with something like that, because if it were to end ugly, she would be stuck in a bad situation where she would have to share custody of her child with a man she doesn’t want in her life. And knowing how influential Aemonds family is, I think it’s not far-fetched to assume that if things were to turn out badly Aemond could definitely have the means to force a way to win custody. I know Aemond would never do something like that, but from Myrah’s perspective, at that point, having only spent a single night with him, that would have been impossible to tell.

Yes!! This is definitely something that crosses her mind. Her parents are the ones who bring it up first after she says she wants to contact Aemond to tell him. Her line of thinking not telling him would be worse than having him in know. I think a large part of her would be happy he wants to be in child’s life (even before they get to the dating each other part). Bc though people are perfectly capable of raising great kids themselves, myrah has seen first hand how much having a ~village~ helped her parents. How much her parents depended on each other with both her and Esme. Myrah is a very all or nothing kind of girl, so her parent would have to remind her of the dangers of not only having aemond in the child’s life, but hers as well.

And yeah Aemond has the social capital and the money to just one day say he wants full custody. And despite what some may think, judges do not always side with the mother, regardless of the factors at play. In fact, that’s kind of myth all together if people look at the numbers. I’m not a hugely informed on the court systems in England, but if they are anything like the ones here in America, if we take in account how race, money, and power play a huge part in it. The courts would more than likely grant Aemond Baelor without a second thought :/

Azazel is a special lil enby they're delightful and lovely. And by that i mean of course WAR CRIMINAL 2 ELECTRIC BOOGALOO WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo

line break time since Az, like Nox, has much to be discussed

alrighty gang so starting at the start, Azazel is a little introverted lil enby who's particularly adept with some less well regarded magic, in particular necromancy and other fun things! they were thrown to Nox early on before the Watchers formed as a squire and pseudo-apprentice. technically they were under the apprenticeship of the same dude as Nox (Andros - Hey slij i know you'll read this im so sorry this was a genuine accident but i did name him the same as one of ur dnd characters in our campaigns im SO sorry) but in reality Nox was the one teaching them.

Anywho, Az had a bit of jealousy originating with Dusana's relationship with Nox, who as you may recall had a kind of pseudo-parental figure thing going on. This is because Az also is very depressed and lonely and found comfort in Nox and felt like Dusana was stealing her time when Dusana totally couldve just been going to Alice instead. Lots of stupid melodrama that the rest of the group is aware is stupid melodrama. But once Alice returns from Erelia with a dead Dusana and a missing Nox, Az goes wild.

They first threaten Alice demanding to know where the ever living hell Nox is. This goes badly and Az is forced to spend the night on a solo mission to spend some time away from the group. When they return, they attempt Necromancy to revive Dusana as a way to seek forgiveness from Alice. This goes worse.

Alice arrests Az for using illegal magic and is preparing plans to send them back to the Magi Council for trial. Maverick, being the icon he is (and the closest thing to a friend Az had, real opposites attract type friendship), helped Az escape and thus begins the Many Trials of Azazel, as they escape but are on the run knowing that news will spread relatively quickly of their actions.

Trial One: Azazel takes a trip to the Cursed Lands!

The Cursed Lands (name change pending) is a little section of the continent (abt 1/4 of the landmass) that is still lightly radioactive due to that time Romana went nuclear and destroyed a large part of the continent in the Erelian War for Independence. Here Azazel goes to hide out for a few months hoping to wait out the inevitable head hunt that will occur for them. And here as well, they learn more about a certain celestial, Passentha who was one that Nox worshipped and also one that was very illegal to worship. Yet her cult exists here in what is effectively a no mans land.

Trial Two: Azazel Goes to Windsbane and Steals A Sword!

Next up, Azazel after learning more from the Ashen Chrysanthemum (the cult of Passentha) and in particular the skill to alter their appearance, they head north to Windsbane, an Empire currently ran by an authoritarian and expansionist Emperor, hoping to forge a great Northern Empire to ensure no southern nation could ever conquer them again. (they are considered a rogue empire by most nations and a large coalition is forming against them, REGARDLESS) While in Windsbane, Az learns a neat thing or two about the celestials, in particular, how to kill one! and they need a certain sword, aptly named Godkiller (previously known as Wintersbane) which is a relic owned by House Zima, the dynasty in control of Windsbane.

After doing some assassinations and quite the solo heist, they pull it off and gain Godkiller! Woooo! Congrats to our little demon! In this trial they learnt how to manipulate and take advantage of people and that people are, at the end of the day, disposable! They also cause a civil war here but thats another story for another time. They also learn that Nox is supposedly dead.

Trial Three: Az Fights a God (fails)

After Windsbane, Azazel heads south! with only a horse and Godkiller on them, they come across the Knights of the Endless Night, a cult of Neternia that began taking advantage of the chaos of the wartorn north, and had gotten into raiding local towns and churches after the Church of Santiryn had their big split and the godly civil war restarted. Again, tale for another time. Anywho! Azazel tries fighting off these rogue brigands but of course because they never were trained with a sword, regardless of how incredibly powerful the sword may be, they quickly fall in battle and are kidnapped as part of a ritual to summon an Avatar of Neternia.

While they do manage to escape this ritual and secure Godkiller, they come across the summoned avatar of Neternia who, despite being very weak due to the ritual only partially succeeding, still kicks their ass but Az using tricks learnt from the Ashen Chrysanthemum escapes still.

Trial Four: Az Becomes a Double Agent

Az reaches Erelia right as Nox began her plans to take control of the city and restore the Erelian Empire (it's a long story.), and joins up with the Ashen Chrysanthemum formally, hilarious not knowing that Nox is the newest leader of theirs.

During this, Az also meets up with Maverick and after some convincing, rejoins the Watchers and Alice forgives Az for their many, many crimes against the Magi Council since they all now have a much bigger issue, the upcoming Erelian Coronation!

So this is where stuff gets a bit messy. The Erelian Coronation is where Nox coups the coalition-installed government of Erelia and revives the Erelian Empire, and there are three simultaneous conspiracies going on here.

Conspiracy One: The global leaders invited to the Coronation are all planning in secret a plot to assassinate Nox by any means necessary even if it means most of them dying because its only been a 100 years or so since Erelia fell and they all agree we can never live under such circumstances again.

Conspiracy Two: The Magi Council alongside the Watchers are also plotting to assassinate Nox (only Alice is aware Nox is the target though), not for any geopolitical reason just because they are all very aware of how dangerous and powerful Nox is.

Conspiracy Three: The Ashen Chrysanthemum, under the orders of Nox, are plotting to kill everyone at the coronation in an attempt to summon Passentha and meld their plane of reality with hers as a final push to let the Pestanae Pantheon win the Celestial Civil War (there's a lot of proper nouns here im so sorry).

Az is aware of conspiracies two and three, and becoming the deeply brooding pessimistic asshole that they are, will align with conspiracy three! So come time for the Coronation and when the cult, Watchers, and nobility all begin massacreing each other, Az is right in the middle and gets proper site of exactly who they've been following this whole time and realize it's Nox! This causes them to fucking lose it (again) and leaving the coronation ceremony through one of the cults many secret exits, goes on a brief massacre in town to cope with the fact Nox has been alive this whole time and never once reached out to say hi.

Alice presumes Az is dead, Nox and Az meetup and have their reunion (both covered in blood, vastly worse people then they were years ago when they last saw each other), and join up with Az becoming the Court Magi for the Erelian Court, and Nox's closest confidant. And of course, leader of the newly reformed Erelian Magi Corps.

As Head of the Erelian Magi Corps they do such fun things such as:

Using magic to completely and permanently alter the terrain of the world in a twisted corrupted nature in order to bond the land more with Passentha’s ideal of the world

Using necromancy to raise troops that had just fallen in battle, effectively creating an endless cycle of troops in the middle of a battle completely ruining an opposing army’s ability to fight

Nuclear suicide bombers (think modern day dirty bombs)

consistently creates plagues to infect people in advance to an invasion

Of course, they were also tasked with handling the war on the Church of Santiryn while Nox focused on the actual war going on. This Does Not Go Well.

basically any of the Septanae that can spare time or power are sending influence or outright appearing as avatars to fight against Az’s Magi Corps and its very fucking frustrating to them, to the point that in a moment that i’m not sure i’ll keep because it is an incredibly dark turn even for my already incredibly dark turn plot arc, az forces a magi to replicate Romana’s great sacrifice, and effectively forces a magi to become a nuclear suicide bomb detonated smack dab in the middle of the Celestial Cathedral. obviously a random magi who’s not entirely willing to do an action does not have the same power as Romana’s sacrifice, and they knew this! which is why they were fine doing it in the middle of the city of Erelia. It did infact obliterate the cathedral though! and several city blocks! and leaves them with like Chernobyl level radiation. It's a completely fucked situation.

I don't particularly have their ending thought out yet, but the gist is that they'll be killed by Maverick around the same time Alice is killed by Nox. Because i'm a fucking sucker for "friends turned to tragic enemies due to an ideological divide" and Az' death is a necessary action to help end the war.

But yeah! that's Azazel! lil trauma enby who is absolutely fucking going through it :)

on 7 july in london, a fan allegedly triggered a fire alarm in a hotel just to see their k-idol group evacuate and effectively making every single person in the building panic, even disrupting a wedding that was being held

i rly hope fans dont do anything like this again, for any group. Please refrain from going to such extremes just to meet your idols, even if you are desperate, or think its a prank, or that it would be ‘worth it’. please please please support your idols in a manner that wont cause distress for others around you. it isnt worth it.

Omg it was a crazy day at work. it reminded me of how ive gotten so used to my coworkers and the dynamics between them all that it makes me kinda emo to remember that ill probably have to leave it all soon yknow

ok i do actually have thoughts yes. so many thoughts. might take me a sec to form words out of em bc of the sheer.. something. whatever just happened and im also lowkey sleep deprived rn i have shrimp emotions and i also cant feel anything

hmm ok one of the things i wanted to mention was that earlier i almost thought Quark couldve been some kinda abondoned Left clone but they have different eye colors so thats crossed off the list. that Does make it kinda weird that Quark mentions freeing his soul during that one scene, but i guess we're supposed to assume he just picked it up from somewhere? like he heard abt it on earth at some point? i doubt Dio wouldve said anything to him abt it in the pod, and even then i dont think hed quote him during That if he did. but how well known were the Myrmidons for him to hear that?? or was it from Junpei/what Junpei was talking abt when he said he was involved during the mars expiriment thing??? idk i just thought that was a weird connection that they didnt directly address.. i think. i couldve missed smth there

im not even gonna try to understand the entirety of the time jumping stuff when it comes to switching bodies and all that. youd think id be prepared for this kinda thing considering all the stuff ive played so far! i am not. looking at the picture they used to show how Sigma's been jumping all over the place legit gave me motivation to do my homework bc that would be easier to comprehend

on that note im like. how do i put this. i was actually super interested in where all this stuff was going for a long while bc the ideas being used were cool even if the execution was a lil wonky. like im so down for time shenanigins (with memory fuckery!! come on!!) and clones and humanlike robots and a lot of other stuff they had going on. i actually like what they were doing when they expanded the morphogenetic field stuff, although i Do wanna think of that as completely seperate from how it is in 999 bc of the retconned stuff :/ other than that what they had going on was pretty cool but. the ending just. i ,,, i dont even know the way it all came together feels so weird???? like it technically makes sense and i get what they were going for. its. ???? i wanna say what im looking for is "anticlimactic" but idk if thats right. its just..... Weird.

however i also wanna say that i am at least glad they touched on the different views of people being stuck in the "worse" timeline? Junpei being glad to have Quark despite everything while Clover and Alice have to deal with leaving behind half a century along with their friends and family. even tho they just kinda went jk lol at that part immediately afterwards???????? but whatever i guess

the characters in general were pretty fun tbh? not quite as real-feeling as 999 but still enough to be enjoyable. it was nice seeing Junpei reference a bunch of stuff from 999 and retain some pieces of himself all these years later, especially when he quoted Light ("fake, a replica, not the real thing...") its horrifying to think abt all hes been thru at this point tho ,,, Clover seemed a lot more outgoing than before but a year can change u so i cant say much abt that, it was cool to see her again regardless. Alice is an interesting one and i liked her even if she was kind of frustrating to go against in the AB games lmao. Luna has lowkey been one of my favorites thru the whole thing but i had a hard time fully trusting her for so long bc of how suspiciously innocent she was lol which wasnt entirely baseless either but yknow. Dio is admittedly funny and ridiculously good at acting like hes a normal person its actually scary. also whered he hide the bombs before planting them bc they didnt seem That small. anyway uhh Quark is a funny little guy and its nice that he straight up doesnt die (usually?? i cant remember if theres a route where he does. other than the bombs) and!!! i actually really enjoyed Kyle. no idea why. wish he didnt abandon me so many times but it fuckin be like that i guess. accidental revenge for absent fatherism. and.. Sigma. when u said u do not like him i think im with u now. not necessarily strong feelings but. yeah. but PHI.. god i wish they actually said where she came from shes just HERE and they never fuckin elaborated man who is she. she is so cool tho i love when she goes on her tangents abt stuff <3

AL OF THAT SAID u were very right when u said the puzzles in this game are fun. even tho i had to check a guide a few times bc i was genuinely clueless for some of em (u have no idea how stumped i got in the darts part of the white room puzzle. i should never do mental math this late i cant live that one down) theyre mostly really good and i did enjoy those sections especially

on that one post u were like "i have to rewrite narratives to make them better" and im the same way, so i wanted to ask since youre playing p5 rn, what would you change about p5 to make it better? i love all the characters sm... but some of them r just handled so poorly cough cough ann... so im interested in hearing ur thoughts!!

oh im so glad u asked. after 300 hrs in persona 5 i have THOUGHTS. so i think p much every character in p5 has a p good introduction nd base but the nuance of their motivations nd growth go out of the window ESPECIALLY for ann nd ryuji. under the cut ofc bc im a long winded bitch 😔

i would rewrite everything abt ann post kamoshida tbh bc the whole thing abt the first arc was abt women nd kids being treated like objects just to treat her like an object the whole time? hell no. for one her pt outfit would NOT be that. i love a catsuit but the boob window was evil. nd ALSO i would have the male character NOT remark on her body as they get closer actually i would rewrite ryuji to not be flirty towards ann at all bc there's a moment where u find out they went to the same junior high nd knew each other nd i would rather have a kinda reunited sibling vibe bc ann’s whole thing is abt not feeling safe so for her friends to look down her shirt as a joke is.............no.

also her confidant would have to be kinda rewritten. again i think its weird for ann to lament abt her looks making her a target then her goal is to be a model....? nd she has no real drive for it? atlus basically just like to make lovers arcana girls famous PERSONALLY i would make ann’s route abt finding out what she actually wants to do bc she has no passion the way shiho had for volleyball nd finding out who she is beyond her looks nd beyond being shiho’s friend. like ann has no hobbies mentioned in game other than eating sweets nd not doing her homework but it always circle back to her weight 😐

nd bc of the above i would tweak yusukes introduction to be him either wanting to draw the protag bc atlus was so close to like........a good narrative on how artists should love the human body regardless of gender nd spare ann being treated as a walking pair of tits or just him wanting to draw her with her clothes ON nd it being a moment abt capturing inner nd outer beauty rather than tits

who else.........oh ryuji. im tired of atlus turning characters w unexplored trauma into comic relief. they do it to kanji too to the point where its homophobia nd its like.........why? nd there are so many moments where ryuji lashes out then APOLOGIZES bc he recognizes the behavior is bad nd its prime time to explore his relationship w his father. or even explore the relationship w the staff? like every teacher believed lies abt him AND the protag so eye think it wouldve been beneficial to get moments where the public opinion of both u nd ryuji changes for the better once kamoshida is exposed. 

nd honestly that dumbass part of the game where morgana leaves the party couldve been ryuji. i think it wouldve been justified to have him blowing up after the nth time he was treated as a joke or throwaway despite having as much emotional baggage as the rest of them. like ryuji is the first one to stand up to men who bother the girls nd they rag on him for nooooooo reason i think calling everyone out on being so callous nd treating him like comic relief wouldve been better nd it still couldve segued into getting haru bc after he stormed out he couldve seen haru w her shit stain of a fiance nd then jumped in to save her from him..........like i see the vision

akechi............................................................my biggest gripe w the game. akechi is such a weak villain until the very end nd ik atlus wanted to recreate the iconic narrative foil between the p4 protag nd adachi but it doesnt work 😭😭😭 for one akechi is bland nd has no real personality besides being sneaky but WE AS THE AUDIENCE DON’T EVEN GET THAT. actually no first of all making akechi a detective was so fucking stupid like again....they just wanted to recreate naoto from persona 4 but worse. 

i would double down on making akechi joker’s other half. have him be another normal student that stumbled upon powers nd double down on him being fake!!!!!! have him help the party one minute just to actively put them in harms way there was no real rivalry btwn u nd akechi which is why facing him in the end fell flat other than the great voice acting nd twist of him having multiple personas but like......we need more hints! imagine akechi hinting that he sees the velvet room? 

also his route being automatic 🤮 ik p5 was bogged down w links but in my p5 akechi is a night slink thats kinda offputting? like u don’t get closer to him per se but u do see more sides of him nd he can even give u a fake request nd when u go into the metaverse he’s there nd its even weirder. wasted potential with that one

dating someone like him so why did js not vocalize these until it became too much? if she brought up how she felt about this before she couldnt take it anymore, would it have made any much of a difference? bc its not like yg couldve done anything about it. they wouldve still broken up regardless? i know the breakup was necessary but could itve been avoided? imo i think it couldve been avoided had they communicated this before but maybe she'd just be miserable still - n e way it just made sad😭

Honestly, we have always said, even when we were outlining the breakup, that it is a really hard one to vocalise because there was no single thing which led to her breaking up with him. He wasn't a bad boyfriend or person and yes she still loved him and could tolerate the inconveniences of being with someone famous, such as being long distance.

I think the truth behind her (very hard and heartbreaking - on both their parts) decision to break up with him was the realisation that he was going to give up everything to be with her. Over the months before the break up, he was becoming more and more reliant on their relationship to make him happy. He would have given up everything to be with her, since he himself was the one finding it hard to be apart from her so often and for so many periods of time. In the fics which run up to the break up, such as 'A Celebration to Forget', 'Stranded', and the phone sex fic, you see how desperate he is becoming and how he's starting to care less about the career he has worked so long and hard for. Jeong-sun, ultimately, didn't want him to have to make that choice between her and being famous as she could see how torn he was becoming (even though she never asked that of him). Also, neither of them really meant to fall so hard for each other. It's not like with some of the other couples where they made a conscious decision to get together (with the girls choosing to date someone famous and knowing what that involved). We don't think Jeong-sun really had any idea what she was getting herself into (other than knowing he was famous - as she's not someone who follows Idols or Korean celebrities much) and also she started dating him quite casually (even if things became intense and sexual very quickly). She never really thought she would fall for him and wasn't really looking or seeking out a boyfriend or relationship. Likewise, Yoongi wasn't looking for a girlfriend but found himself falling so hard for her. So the timing was really bad for them both. Yoongi and BTS at this point were becoming really really famous, especially abroad, and Jeong-sun didn't want him to give up all that at the height of his fame. She knew he would regret it, but also didn't want to be 'responsible' for that. In a way, her breaking up with him was her way of being kind and ensuring he didn't make a decision which would hurt him.

In contrast, when they get back together - he has already completed his service (and several of the members are currently serving) so he has no band commitments. He's at a point where BTS are starting to settle down (Jin is married, etc.) and so the timing feels right that he can focus on what is important to him (showing Jeong-sun the love he has always wanted to and being able to actually spent time with her) without also having to sacrifice his career.

Pre-breakup, he literally would have given up everything for her in a heartbeat, but things would have naturally ended (in a messier and worse way) with Jeong-sun if he had because that's a lot of pressure to put someone under. Jeong-sun, who thinks of herself as really mundane and normal, really wouldn't want to be on that kind of pedestal. So, she quite cleanly broke things off with him. Yes, she hurt him and was hurt herself, but things would have been worse if she'd have stayed with him and broke up later. Especially if she had accepted his proposal in 'Stranded' and they rushed into marriage etc.

I hope this makes sense. We really love discussing the reasoning behind certain decisions and how we interpret things, but also readers sometimes have their own interpretations of events and feelings which we love to hear!!!

This is sad but did young fp blame himself for not being able to protect Linda better against his dad 😣 even though he was just a little kid and there was nothing he could have done

i dont know if it was that so much as he blamed himself for a lot of their problems. like.... i think he knew senior was a bastard regardless, but i also believe fp wouldve taken some of that on himself and felt like the stress of having a kid made things worse. like, if he hadnt been born maybe she or they wouldve been better off. i think he internalized a lot of it that way

i do think the protective aspect came more when she died and he started wondering if there was something he couldve done to stop that from happening

dont mind me trying 2 formulate a little bonana -> anemone timeline

starting with the end of 5.3 its the first time hes been home in eorzea in ~4 years. keep in mind technically he couldve gone back and forth like in-game but he elected to stay on the first until they found a way to bring everyone else back (he was also plain scared to try going back but ssshhhh)

at first he tries going back to the way he was before, u know a dragoon with his signature blue coat and black helmet, but it feels...off to him. hes much more keenly aware of what hes doing, as in, killing things. tearing into flesh. spending so much time with sin eaters made him forget that stuff bleeds. he keeps it to himself though and bears through 5.4 with it

afterwards, however. he ends up looking into archery after oranje taught him some basics when they were first called, figuring if combat was unavoidable then hed at least like to be afforded some distance from it. im not sure how he becomed a bard from there, i dont think he'd be following the in game questline....i was thinking something about a moogle hearing and being impressed by his music? and maybe thats what leads him jehantel idk :v

anyways. despite the change in job he still feels this deep-rooted dread about the things he's doing, and the longer it went on the more desperate he became to make it stop. like, desperate enough to do things he wouldve NEVER considered before.

eventually it lead to him waking up one day and realizing he couldnt remember much of anything, from ever. to make matters worse it happened right about when 5.5 kicks off, leaving them lost and doing a lot of smiling and nodding and shooting when needed.

thankfully grammy was the first one they met after it happened, and she was quite understanding when she realized something was wrong and tries to help them along. and after the immediate danger is over, she encourages them to step away from having to be like bonana and find out their own way of doing things...which leads to her introducing them to surito carito and studying the art of a scholar. they take to it well enough, but it still doesnt quite...right. regardless, it left a newly-realized anemone much better equipped to handle the challenges of 5.55 and onward !!
