please please please elaborate on how leo is percy jacksom coded this is a crossover ive never imagjned
YESSSS I GET TO ELABORATE ON THIS
Ok so, I was looking at some Percy Jackson memes in preparation for the upcoming show, and I was struck with the realization of just how similar Leo and Percy are
Starting with the obvious similarities: They are both the blue wise-cracking, ADHD icons of their respective groups. The only coping mechanism these guys know is humor and sass.
Speaking of sass, they are both massive sass lords, especially towards really powerful villains they definitely should not be sassing. Percy with the gods and monsters, and Leo with every major antagonist ever, they cannot shut up to save their lives.
Moving on to the deeper similarities, they’re both the same type of character; They are both really chill and easy going, and can come off a little stupid, which often makes opponents underestimate them. Underneath that, though, they are strategic powerhouses. The moment they stop joking is the moment you should start running and/or praying.
I fully believe if ROTTMNT had gotten its full run time, we would’ve seen Leo develop into more of a Percy Jackson-esque character, especially since Raph was meant to keep the leader role originally.
Crossover wise, the potential is off the charts! So many elements of both shows would create such a unique experience for both parties. For instance, how does the mist work for Yokai? Can they see through it naturally? Are cloaking broaches just artifacts that use mist?
Or how does mysticism work? Do the Yokai know about the gods and monsters? Are Yokai monsters themselves, but the Japanese mythology version? Where does Japanese mythology come into play? We’ve had multiple other sets of gods confirmed to exist in the Riordanverse, so do Japanese god exist?
What are mutants? Are the monsters? Some half-blood equivalent? Are the turtles half-bloods? Do they count as some undetermined 3rd party? Do the gods know about Hidden Cities?
So many questions! I already have so many WIPS, but I might start another because of how enticing this idea sounds!

Fairy Forms (short rambles)
this is me having an overall explanation to every fairy form known so far.
Formless - just basic low level spells and magic available.
Base form - gained by believeinvg in yourself and purposefully harnessing your magic to its full extent (at the time)
Charmix - a fairy must overcome a great personal difficulty, such as a strong fear or a certain weakness holding them back. it is a power up that enhances the spells of the fairy and adds an accessory to their base form as a symbol of the increase in power.
Enchantix - a fairy must rescuing someone from her homeworld and show great sacrifice in doing so. Along with an increase in magical strength and endurance, Enchantix allows fairies to use Fairy Dust to miniaturise, break dark spells, and various other things. Most fairies only reach enchanix as their final transformation, thus it is usually described as the ultimate fairy form. (however, after earning enchantix, faires are able to gain new situational transformations such as believeix and sirenix and basically every other transformaiton the winx aquire. so this means ROXY has her base form in season 4 NOT belivix)
Believix - a fairy has to make people believe in fairies and magic, thus Believix can only be earned on Earth or somewhere where people do not already believe in magic. Believix gets stronger when more people believe in magic
Sophix and Lovix - honestly i dont think these should be a sub transformation of believix so i have decided they are their own transformations and will be redesigning them as such. anyway they can only be gained by recieveing the gifts of destiny, and they provide fairies a Nature and Ice filter to their magic.
Harmonix - the pre transformation to sirenix, it is given to fairies by their sirenix guardians, should they choose to pursue sirenix at all. it helps their spells retain their potency under water.
Sirenix - In order for a fairy to earn Sirenix, they must find the Gem of Self-Confidence, the Gem of Empathy, and the Gem of Courage. After that, they need to activate the magic spring of Lake Roccaluce by using the Source of Sirenix. so this means every fairy who seeks sirenix must go on a trasure hunt of sorts. this transformation is a key to the infinite ocean, and allows their magic to work well there.
Bloomix - it is a completely unheard of transformation because it started with bloom giving a piece of her dragon flame to the winx, enhancing their powers with the flame. to get this transformation after aquiring a piece of the flame, fairies must perform good actions worthy of a fairy to earn it.
Mythix - a fairy must prove herself before the Ancestral Wands. In turn, the wand she receives will grant her Mythix. it gives her the ability to enter the Legendarium World, and also the ability to teleport themselves in and out of the Legendarium World. allows their magic to works well in the legendarium world.
Butterflix - in the Valley of Fruit of the past after proving themselves worthy as the true defender of the Fairy Animals. This transformation basically adds wild magic to the fairies existing powers and spells.
Tynix - They get Tynix and the Tynix bracelets from their bonded magical animals so they can become tiny to enter the miniworlds and speak to their fairy animals
Cosmix - a fairy must receive the Cosmix power granted by the Queen of Lumenia. basically adds a light filter to the fairy's magic (so all their spells are concidered light magic even if the fairy herself doesnt posess light magic spells) also is a cool spacesuit.
(next 2 ill concider the transformations canon but the winx will not be aquiring them since imo WOW is not cannon)
Dreamix - to gain this transformaiton, a fairy must help someone make their dream comes true (which would never have came true without the fairy's help). The source of Dreamix power is dreams and talents. and it is the key to eter the world of dreams
Onrix - Onyrix is the evolved form of Dreamix. In order for a fairy to earn Onyrix, she must earn Dreamix first. Then the Spirit of the World of Dreams grants her Onyrix
(last one is gna just be my own headcanon)
Ultimix - It is gained with a lot of training and sheer willpower. (bloom was the one who helped the girls get this one when they really needed it as she once willed herself to get enchantix.) it is A final power up of any spells the wielder has ever used and it takes into account any situational form the fairy has ever gained, making their spells work and are upgraded in any of the situations with just this one transformation (most fairies do not gain this transformation, in old age most fairies usually choose not to transform anymore but they train to have access to all their spells even without transforming)
to make things more clear: (the levels are just for clarity sake, fairies do not talk about their power levels in this way)
non transformation is level 0
base form is level 1
charmix is level 2
enchantix is level 3
Bloomix is 3.25 because of the addition of the dragons flame
every other transformation is 3.75 only in the specific situation in which they were aquired for, outside of the situation the magic in those transformations are like a 2.5 (EXCEPTIONNN: is when the situational power up matches up with the fairy’s own innate power which raises the power level of that fairy to 4 while usinf the situational form. So example, roxy with her butterflix or flora with sophix, and aisha with harmonix and stella with cosmix)
trained non transformation magic is level 4
ultimix is level 5 in every situation for every spell ever

(I’m the one who just sent an ask about Musa but I hadn’t finished yet whoops) do you think she would have problems with her magic underwater or is fighting in water a more common occurrence she might have prepared for. (Would it change in the infinite ocean) Also what do you think about bloom struggling underwater at first (because water conducts heat away from a source better than air) Let me know your thoughts?
Hi! You know how Musa has trouble with her powers working underground in S2 (maybe it was just in Shadowhaunt idk) because of different frequencies and how the air resonates? Do you think she’d have a similar problem underwater
- [missing text from misfired Ask]
Part of the problem with being underground would be the reverberation, the way sounds bounced back off of the uneven surfaces, but Musa would have some experience with music halls and other inside places that would have helped her get a handle on things if she'd had the time to do so.
A second part of the problem is the mineral makeup of the caverns, we see crystal structures further in and different crystals have different reaction to vibrations ('new agey' sounding but true), this might have thrown her off a little as well.
The combination of unknown surfaces (in both shape and composition) would have made it difficult but: this is literally the only time we see her have trouble underground in this way.
In the first three seasons the group is underground a couple of times, in season 1 they take the catacombs to Cloudtower but we don't see anything more than the girls walking for a few seconds, so it might just not have come up? By the end of the season all of the Winx are in Shadowhaunt and have no apparent trouble, even Flora who had trouble because “there are no living plants down here” which means the writers either forgot, or the girls have been receiving some off screen training to learn how to accommodate  the problem.
Or the Charmix somehow compensates for them. It should be noted that the reason Musa 'had trouble' was because she threw a sonic bomb into a crevasse in the wall which is always going to destabilise a cave, normal sonar-like attacks would have had less destructive force in their backlash and ended up more like too loud echoes most likely.
-
When it comes to being underwater, I think Musa actually would have had an easier time adapting than some of the others.
Aisha obviously would have had little to no problem, and for Musa she would have only had to adjust for the difference in how fast and far sound travels through water as opposed to air, water being a better conductor for sound and allowing it to travel further would basically just strengthen her spells.
Her home on Melody is shown to be close to a whale site, which suggests Musa is familiar with the concept of underwater sonar and she may even had dabbled with it previously.
It's hard to say how much trouble Tecna would or should be having adapting to the two environments, I think 4Kids had her unable to even transform, but the other translation don't even mention Tecna being part of the illusionary test Faragonda puts Flora and Musa through in season 2. Despite often being away from obvious technology, (I'm thinking specifically of her time in Omega) Tecna has never seemed to suffer for its lack.
Flora might have difficulty underwater, since her reasoning for the underground was the lack of plants, it would be interesting to know how much her powers depend on the specific plants around her and whether or not she'd be familiar enough with aquatic plants to realistically adjust her powers accordingly.
Bloom and Stella realistically should have struggled the most with the change to water. Bloom because of the change in thermal conductivity and because, you know, water is not historically good for fire, and Stella because the speed of light is different in water and changes depending on any  kind of 'contaminant' whether organic or mineral, it would also affect how the light dispersed.
While Bloom might be able to compensate once she gets used to the difference, (and it would probably take a while) Stella would likely always have a little trouble.
This of course is all depending on how much 'structural integrity' magic actually gives the spells, how much it does beyond stopping any backlash on the caster and ensuring the energy makes it to the target. (Or next closest surface.)
The Harmonix and Sirenix are specifically meant for underwater use, so it's likely they come with something that would be considered 'auto correct' for the spells, lessening the difficulty of adjusting for water resistance, water composition and other factors.
By the time the Winx made it to the Infinite Ocean they'd been on several sub-aquatic adventures and would have been reasonably adjusted to the basics of underwater magic, but given that the Infinite Ocean is supposed to be an ocean which is infinite, there's a chance it has a much higher water pressure than the other oceans they've visited which would have affected all of them a little.
Admittedly that should be compensated for by the Sirenix, but they might still have to relearn a few steps in their adjustments. It's hard to say whether Alfea would offer a class or classes which deal with learning how to adapt to various environmental impacts on a power type, on the one hand: aquatic Forms exist which should do the job for you, but on the other hand: those Forms have been basically cursed for like, 20 years.
-
I'm sorry, this is more rambling and incoherent than I wanted, there's just so much left unmentioned in canon that it makes it hard to really discuss these sorts of finer magic details.
If we go with hard cartoon canon, then the only time the Winx had real trouble underwater was when they dove too deep and water pressure made their wings useless, but even that brings into question: was that a normal thing for all fairies (doubtful since season 3 happened partially underwater), or a specific weakness of the Believix form?
Since they get their upgrade and go, does that mean the Form compensates for them, or was there some off screen teething problems we didn't get to see?
Then there's the question of: okay, my specific elemental type doesn't historically do well underwater, but fairies have non-elemental spells which I know several of, how do they fare?
If we're talking Alt Con then I can throw all kinds of things out there like:
Harmonix and Sirenix compensate for the high pressure of the water, where other Forms are designed to account for low air pressure (or in Astralix/Cosmix case – the vacuum of space), so past a certain depth all non-aquatic Forms suffer for it.
Part of the Forms is adjusting the structural integrity of spells to work better (or more in line with what a fairy expects) in their specific environment. (So when (underwater) Musa aims a sonic boom here, it goes here instead of blasting everywhere plus a mile extra, or Bloom aims there and her fire based spell makes it there because the spell was insulated for the journey between points A and B.)
Past a certain depth in the ocean, water doesn't boil, the pressure's too high, the atoms can't move apart properly, but in shallows? Oh you better believe Bloom once tried to 'fire off' a spell and had it flash boil a crap ton of water which exploded on her, Stella has absolutely blinded herself, and yes, once as a child Musa nearly deafened herself while playing with whales.
(Because yes, Alfea has classes on environmental adaptability of elemental based spells, because: “just because specialty Forms exist, it doesn’t mean you’ll have the time to go and get it before you need it, and sometimes getting it is more trouble than it’s worth.”)

Winx Club Season 8/12
In which Valtor finally gets his villain on! (eventually)
12 Surprise Party on Earth
We open with some more nice wide shots of Valtor’s asteroid.  Our villain is in a thoughtful mood, which I’d screencap for you if my program did caps.  He also seems to be wearing purple eyeshadow, which continues to prove my point that eye makeup = evil in the Winx ‘verse.
He’s watching a big all-round hologram of space, and suddenly a comet streaks across the view.  Valtor is delight!  This is “the wishing star.  It hasn’t been seen in the magic universe for almost a thousand years! I must have it!  It’s the only way to make my ultimate wish come true!”
Sounds interesting!
But here comes Obscurum to interrupt Valtor’s rant.  “Ahem.  Sorry to interrupt such a glorious dream, your Foolishness, but you do know your dark powers will prevent you from getting anywhere near the wishing star.”
Valtor already knows, but he says he can power up be getting himself some Cosmix! And he does a really lecherous grin and we cut to…
Orion’s ship! Orion does the most adorable, “What did you bring me from Syderia?” and is delight when Bloom presents him with the crystal of “condensed star energy.”
Twinkle suggests using it for a paperweight or bookends but Orion says he can make a prototype mini star core.  If it works he can make new cores for all the stars Valtor destroyed.
Bloom’s phone buzzes.  Shy is suggesting a romantic dinner.  The Winx are immediately all opver the romance, except for Tecna, who is...having that geekfest with Orion that I wanted her to have a few episodes ago!  They’re talking about how to boost the power of the new star cores.
Stella: “Who needs romance when there’s some new hypertechnothingamajig about to be built?” ^^
Bloom says Tecna and Orion are right, the mission needs to come first.  “I’m just sorry Sky and I have so little time to see each other.”  Bloom sounds quite chipper, but her face is sad.  I think the actress didn’t do the emotion right for that line.
Flora suggests the Winx can handle things so Bloom can see Sky, but Bloom has to go to Earth for her mom’s birthday.  So she has to turn Sky down.
Tec and Orion are still talking star cores.  Adorable.
So the rest of the Winx will continue to do outer space stuff while Bloom heads to earth.
Cut to Gardenia! Mike is waiting on the beach, holding a cute picture of young Bloom. She turns up, and they hug.  They’re going to throw a surprise party for Vanessa.  Mike says it should be easy since Bloom can just snap her fingers and do it with magic, which brings up a whole bunch of thoughts about what it would really be like if some people could use magic like that.  Well maybe magic is like money, one-percenters can snap their fingers and make stuff happen too.
But Bloom wants to set up the party without using any magic!
Mike is going to take Vanessa out to lunch so she doesn’t suspect.  He asks Bloom if she’s sure she doesn’t need help.
“Dad I’m a fairy, I bring light back to drained stars.  I think I can handle a party.”
Cue predictable comedic failure montage!  Bloom attempts to set up a beach party without magic and stuff goes wrong.
On his Asteroid Valtor is talking to himself again.  he’s looking at a projection of the universe that’s going from blue to purple which I think means the spread of drained stars.  He’s gotten a lot, apparently.
“I’ve drained the light of one star after another to increase my powers, but the Winx always manage to save the day!  No more!  they’ll never stand in my way again, once the Cosmix power is mine...”  Counting your chickens before they hatch, huh Valtor?  He rants a bit more.  His plan is to get at Bloom through her family.
Obscurum turns up in a hologram; he’s on Lumenia.  His favorite spot.  He rambles a bit about becoming king.
Valtor dumps Obscurum through a portal into a river.
Beach!  Vanessa arrives for her surprise party!  With a bunch of people we’ve never seen before.  Bloom did get it set up without magic.
Sweet moments with Bloom and her family.  Bloom’s given her mom a photo album with pictures of her childhood.  They talk about Bloom’s adventures in space, but she says her home will always be with them.  She also says that all the places she goes are places I trouble, and she looks quite pensive, and Mike reminds her that here in Gardenia she’s safe.
No mention of Bloom’s other family—which is fine, I love her earth family, but it does make me wonder if the Season 8 Timeslide has erased Bloom’s Domino family from the timeline.  That would be a pretty big change.
As they go to cut the cake, Valtor decides it’s time to blow the earth’s candle out!  He opens a portal near the sun… but not the mass of incandescent gas that we know it as, this sun is a honeycomb ball of glowing yellow stone.  Staryums pour into the caves.
But the sun’s lumens are badass!  They’re Roman lumens with lil helmets and armored skirts and some of them are carrying blowguns  they’re prepared to defend their light!
So the staryums get together and turn into starchomps.
Roman lumen attack! Darts away!  I think they’re shooting starlight from their blowguns.
The starchomps get together and grow into an even bigger stompy monster!  It scares the lumens away and starts punching the sun’s star core!
The rest of the Winx meanwhile are on Lumenia.  Tecna shows off the prototype star core to Queen Dorana.  Dorana worries, quite reasonably, that once the stars are repowered the staryums will just come back and drain them again.  She wishes her brother Argen were here; “he’d certainly know how to stop them for good.”  flora reassures the queen that her brother will come home soon.  And until then, the Winx will fight them1
Twinkle reminds everyone that we don’t want to hurt the staryums.  Then she flies and hugs Queen Dorana’s foot, which is very cute but Dorana looks kinda uncomfortable.  She reminds the girkls that she turned Lumilla back to herself by hugging them.  So more hugs should turn the rest of the staryums back!
Dorana is skeptical.
Musa and Aisha do not like the idea of hugging staryums!  Anyway, there aren’t enough of us to hug them all!
Flora says that hugging is the only way.  ‘Only when they feel loved and accepted will they turn back into lumens.
Well I guess it’s a version of the Kiss of True Love, the Hug of True Acceptance?  I once read a book where they were trying to disenchant some people and there was a line about “it has to be true love, not brotherly love” which made me wonder if there are other spells that would only be lifted by Brotherly Love.
Anyway, Queen Dorana feels unwell suddenly and sinks to the ground.  Something bad is happening!  Twinkle’s projector-thingy shows the sun is under attack!  Everyone’s worried!  They leap into action!
Party is party. Then it goes dark!  The sun is flickering!
Valtor summons dark giants from under the sea!  I presume he left them there earlier. They’re the same color as staryums but not furry, they’re more towards “made of living shadow” type of look, with a eye-ish circle on the head, lines of mystic runes, and Valtor’s mark.  Very cool.  Two of them come tromping towards the beach.  People panic and run.
Bloom: Oh, well, now I’ve got two problems to solve.  Save the sun and save Gardenia from those whatever-they-are!”  She sounds wonderfully exasperated.
Mike says there’s only one Bloom, but she says she’s never alone.  And calls Sky. This isn’t the date they wanted, but giants are attacking.
Sky: “Let me guess, Valtor?”
The Specialists will fight the giants while Bloom hugs her folks and heads for the sun.  Sky did want to go with Bloom, but she basically ordered him to do giant duty.  I wonder if this will come up in their inevitable couple-drama.  Bloom flew off in Cosmix, but it doesn’t show her transforming in front of her parents.
Inside the sun the rest of the Winx face off the punchy monster that Aisha calls a megachomp when Bloom arrives.  Megachomp punches things, then it noms the core in one bite.  Heh.  He just swallowed it.
Flora: “Maybe if we hug him he’ll turn into… well, a lot of lumens.”
Stella: “Sure Flora.  You go first.”
They decide on some magic zapping instead.
Then there’s Valtor!  In the flesh!  The first time he’s left his lair all season!  He’s floating just outside the cave.  Stella even comments on this, saying he’s never crawled out from under his rock before.
Valtor: “Are you kidding, Stella?  This is a special occasion!  The sun’s gone dark, the earth is about to be destroyed, and Bloom will be forced to make the hardest decision of her life.’
Valtor summons a portal and blasts Bloom through it.  Then he ducks back through his own portal, escaping.
In magic-space, or outer space, our hero and villain face off.
Bloom: “We beat you before, Valtor!  And for sure we’ll do it again!”
Valtor: “I only lost because I let you do my bidding.  But you won’t get away with it so easily this time.”
...what?  No really, what did that sentence even say?  ‘Let you do my bidding’..?  What?
Bloom summons magic.  Valtor summons an image of cars on the highway and people flee from Gardenia, while the giants tromp towards shore.  On the beach Vanessa refuses to leave until she knows Bloom is safe.  Well that’s dumb.
Bloom: “They’d better not be in any danger!”
Valtor: ‘Oh, sorry, it’s too late.  They already are.”
Who WROTE these lines? -_-
Dark giant summons flying staryum-monkeys that attack the people on the beach!
Bloom is ready to fight, but Valtor is the only one who can stop the ‘stargoyles’ and the dark giants.  So Bloom can’t take him out or the monsters would be freed from his control and run amok, he’s saying.  Bloom says the specialists are on the way, but Valtor points out that his monsters are already THERE, innocent people are about to be toast, right now.
Bloom: Then I’ll fight them myself!  I’m not scared of your dark magic!”
Valtor laughs.  “Ah but if you save your parents, who’s going to save your friends?”
And we see the Winx having no luck against the megachomp, which looks a lot bigger than in the last scene.
Valtor: ‘And you know, without the sun your parents won’t survive anyway.  They trust you.  Will you betray them?”
Yes!  THIS is an appropriately evil Valtor, at last!  Once his lines started making sense.
Bloom looks back and forth between the two images, unable to decide.
Valtor presents his third option: give him the Cosmix power.
Bloom: “Never! You’d become even stronger!”
Valtor: “Right. But it’s still the best choice.”  he promises to let everybody live if he gets the power.
Bloom wavers.

Just read your post on the transformations and wow, thank you for that! Most of it I totally agree, like what’s with the color schemes randomly changing and the individuality gone? I get changing with the times, but there’s no excuse for those.
Thanks for reading. It’s nice to know that my rambling gets noticed.
I think my least favourite thing about Cosmix is that the wings are all the same, just like with Sirenix. Like, I remember that when I was young, the wings were such a big thing. Kids in my class would draw the different wings and have favourite wings (”Musa’s the best!” “No, Tecna’s wings are better!”) and now it’s literally the same shape, just different colours. I dunno. I obviously am not aware of what’s going on behind the scenes and why they chose for these designs, but from the perspective of an outsider, I just don’t see a reason for them to not give them different wings?

And oh! The colour schemes. I admit that I like some of the newer colour schedules, since it’s refreshing (see Stella’s beautiful blue in Onyrix), but who the heck at Winx Club decided to give Bloom pink instead of yellow?
But yes, the least favourite thing about all of this is just the lack of individuality. Again, there’s always been some sort of format that the girls adapt to, but there are differences between:
Tumblr media
and
Tumblr media
And between:
Tumblr media
and
Tumblr media
(Note: these aren’t official Rainbow photos, because since I couldn’t find one of Flora, so I used these fanmade ones made by https://www.deviantart.com/winx-rainbow-love/gallery/67595946/Cosmix-New-Style)
